Hope you're ready for the World Series.

Get started in about two hours from now. I hope you are all set and ready for college football. Man, we got the best running back in the country.

He's playing tonight. We got some big games tomorrow. Got some teams that'll probably get eliminated from top 12 contention to get into the college football playoff. We got Sunday football all day. We got Monday football. We got a lot to get into.

It is a busy, busy weekend. Oh, your basketball is back. We got an update on Bronny.

It looks like Bronny is going to be splitting his time a little bit. Come on. He ain't no NBA player. We know that.

Go to the G League. That's right. And we have some guests who are going to join us to talk about it all. How about Mike Sanford Jr.? He's going to come through and join us later on in the show.

He's going to have a chat with us. All things college football. This man played at Boise State. This man coached the Colorado Buffaloes. This man was an offensive coordinator. He was a quarterback. Mike Sanford Jr. is going to join us.

How about this next hour? We got a people mover who's going to come through and join us. He used to move bodies and people and human beings for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Max Starks is going to come through and join us. Yeah, he used to help Ben Roethlisberger stay upright.

The times where Ben Roethlisberger did stand upright. So, Max Starks is going to come through and join us. Now you can catch Max just on the radio. He's doing games.

He's just helping folks out good for him. Sprinting a good word about being an offensive lineman in the NFL. Football analysts, college pros, they're going to come through and join us as we continue on. This is when the show gets started. Every single weekday at 6 p.m. Eastern, 3 Pacific. You can always listen on the free Odyssey app, A-U-D-A-C-Y. You can tune in on your local Infinity Sports Network affiliate. If you got Sirius XM, it's channel 158. And if you got yourself a smart speaker, ask the speaker.

Talk to the machine and tell it to play the Infinity Sports Network. Real simple. And it's a Friday. I know there's people out there looking to get lit and turned up and all other words and synonyms that describe a Friday night, whatever the hell you're getting ready to do.

We're here. You can feel free to call up. Hickey, what did that guy say? Snookerd? Is that what he said he was? Yes.

Uh-huh. Yeah, don't try not to be too snookerd if you call up. But the phone number here is 855-212-4227.

That's 855-212-4227. You can find me online. I am everywhere at JR Sport Brief. Before we get into the World Series, before we get into the college football, before we get into the NFL, before we talk some basketball, before we talk about it all.

It's very important. We're cordial here. We're respectful to each other. Hickey, how are you? You good? I'm good. Good to hear your voice. A little chill in the air today, which is not great. Oh, no. But I guess fall is officially here.

But otherwise, doing great on this Friday. The heck is that? A little chill in the air.

What is that? Sixties, something like that? It's in the fifties.

Fifties? There's just like almost 80 the other day. Wow. So when you get that drastic of a drop, it feels colder than it really is. I had the window open a lot this week and I will say had to kind of wimp out, I closed the window today. Oh, I hear you.

All right. I didn't know a drop. I was like, yeah, you have the same temperature that we had here, but different geographic locations, a couple of mountains, a couple of trees separating you and I. A couple of miles. Just a couple of hundred. Not too many. I'm thinking 700, 800 miles. Not that many. Yeah, not bad.

Yeah, definitely not. Do it in a day. I ain't driving it in a day, but you can.

You certainly can. So much going on. People hype for the World Series in New York. They're ready for the Yankees. Yankees fans are hyped.

The other half of New York that are Mets fans are not. That's for sure. What is it?

What is it? OK, so the Mets have been eliminated. We know that.

We saw that. Are people relax? There's nothing to do with the Mets right now but wait on free agency.

That's it. So there's there's people are elated with what just took place, right? They're at least happy with what the Mets did and excited about the future. Is that accurate or people whining and bitching and complaining? No, no, no one's complaining. No, all in all is a great season. No one thought they would go this far whatsoever.

I think still sadness that, you know, the miracle ride did come to an end. But now you look at you have to either root for the team that just beat you and the Dodgers. That's not well liked here anyway. Or the crosstown rival that you really don't like and their fans have tortured us Mets fans for a long time.

So it is a lose lose proposition. OK, all right. Maybe that's why it's so cold outside all of this. OK, it's all the Mets fans. I don't know the bitterness. Yeah, the bitterness is affecting the atmosphere and thus it is now colder.

Yeah, probably. We'll talk about the Yankees, get into the Yankees and the Dodgers next hour. We got a lot a lot to do. But before we go anywhere with this show, before I say another word, let me tell you something. I left the studio last night and then Thursday Night Football was on out in Los Angeles, which is going to be a complete train wreck.

Traffic is going to be nuts. We'll talk about that, too. So many events going on in Los Angeles today. I walked out of the studio last night and I parked my behind in front of a television set and I tried to watch and I did watch the conclusion of Thursday Night Football, getting us all set for week eight. We had the Minnesota Vikings.

We have the Los Angeles Rams. They were out in L.A. Hickey and I both thought that here we were going to have the Vikings walking away with a victory and then we were wrong. It happens. It's life.

Ain't nobody out here, you know, predicting football games or lottery numbers. It happens. But the way the game ended. I was mad.

I wasn't even playing and I was mad. You had this Minnesota Vikings team that at the time they were down 28 to 20. They had an opportunity to potentially drive down the field, maybe pop in a two-point conversion and tie the game up.

But no, the game was pretty much shut down because of three blind mice. The referees choked. The umpires blew it. The refs, the umps, the zebras, whatever the hell you want to call them, whatever their designations, the whitecaps, whatever you want to call these guys, they were blind.

I haven't been that upset about a football game and I don't even know how long. And I don't know, maybe it's always something with the Rams and the officials, the referees with nice things happen. But this man, Sam Darnold had his head rearranged with a face mask penalty that the refs, nobody saw it. The referees told the reporters after the game, oh, we didn't see it. It has to be the most egregious non-call that I have seen at all this entire season.

Sam Darnold was on the ground like, what the hell are you looking at? You did not just see the face mask. You just gave them two points, but you didn't see the face mask. They shouldn't have two.

And my head shouldn't be hurting right now. Or at least if it is hurting, it should be a penalty attached. And there's also robbery for all of the stoppages and all the fancy referees coming out with their muscles, telling everybody, yeah, a false start, this, that, this guy, offense, defense, number 21. For all the times that we get these stupid stoppages, the NFL says that's not reviewable? Come on.

Half the damn time, I feel like the referees are making up their own rules as we go along. And so what a disappointing ending for what was and could have been and was a good game, could have gotten better. We could have saw a comeback. You know, I'd take a dump on Sam Darnold all the time, mostly because of his past as an NFL starting quarterback. This guy's hit or he's missed.

Well, this year he has been much more hit. Not after last night, the Vikings have now lost two in a row. Sam Darnold had another good game, 240 yards, two TDs. They just fell flat at the end of the game. Justin Jefferson threw his helmet down and discussed that they didn't get another chance or an opportunity to go down the field.

He had 115 yards receiving. And even Christian Daraso, he's out for the year now, got multiple torn ligaments in his knees. So this is not good for the Minnesota Vikings.

They have the Indianapolis Colts that are up next. I'll tell you this though, as bad as those refs were at the end of the game, they, yeah, they stunk. I'll say it again. You can't blame them, right?

You got to take accountability. Come on. We had the WNBA finals conclude on Sunday. We had the Minnesota Lynx. They couldn't buy a free throw. They couldn't get a trip to the free throw line. I mean, those referees stunk in a WNBA.

And then you had their, and I guess this is the difference, I guess this is the difference and maybe not. The head coach of the Minnesota Lynx said that, you know, we were robbed of the championship. You know, I want to give credit to Kevin O'Connell. I want to give credit to Sam Donald because of as egregious it is that the referees didn't see. And they all said, we didn't see it.

There was a giant human being, three giant human beings in my way. I didn't see it. As wild as it is that no referee saw Sam Donald getting his head twisted like he was in The Exorcist. Nobody, nobody on the Vikings, nobody worth a damn, blame the refs for them losing. And that I respect.

That I appreciate. We got too many people. It's still a 60 minute football game. And y'all sucked. You wouldn't have to be in that position if you did your job. And if you do your damn job, you don't have to rely on the refs to come through and bail you out.

Sam Donald, the man who got his head twisted, his neck is probably hurting right now. Sam Donald says, I ain't blaming the refs. They not the reason that we lost. It is what it is. You know, it's, you know, I thought we could have done a lot to not put ourselves in the situation that we were in, you know, the penalty before that.

So, you know, we just got to continue to play better and not put ourselves in that situation to begin with. You know what? Kevin O'Connell used to be the offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams, used to work with their current head coach, Sean McVeigh. That's how he got his launching point, his launching start into being the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings. I've had time around Kevin O'Connell, around good reasons, too.

We did some work with Special Olympics together. Very nice guy. I like Kevin O'Connell. I like him a lot. He's very diplomatic, very smart, very strategic. I'm not surprised that he's having so much success as a head coach in the NFL, played quarterback. He also said, I'm not blaming the refs.

Well, it looked like he got a pretty good amount of face masks there. Not going to get into, you know, the call or no call and all that stuff. It's just, I told our team officiating and all that stuff for us to talk about that, for us to seek comfort in that is not how we're going to respond to this. It's just not going to happen.

And I'm going to do the same thing right now. I really don't have a comment on whether it was a, it looked like you got a piece of the face mask, but, you know, it looked like you got a piece of the face mask, but they didn't think so. So they didn't throw the flag.

That's right. And it's not that they didn't think so. They just didn't see it.

Come on. Were y'all not in position? Was it just bad luck?

Doesn't matter. From the Minnesota Vikings standpoint, y'all blew it at the end of the game. You allowed yourself to put the game in the hands of the officials. They didn't throw the ball. They didn't catch the ball. They didn't run the plays. They didn't call the plays. Blaming the refs is lazy. So let me ask you this head coach, former offensive coordinator, Kevin O'Connell, why did y'all suck at the end of the game? What happens to the offense?

Why did he, why are people having to get mad? What happened? They were doing a lot of things coverage wise to, you know, try to keep a roof on, on the coverage to not let the big plays happen where Sam was able to kind of check the ball down to some guys, put the ball in play. We got the screen game going a little bit, um, in the second half. And then, um, we just didn't sustain enough. Um, and we weren't on the field enough. It stinks, man. It's bad. Minnesota Vikings, man.

This is, this is back to reality now, huh? Started this season five and oh, two game losing streak. I think they should take care of the Indianapolis Colts in the next game. Move that record up to six and two, but this was always going to be a battle either way with the Green Bay Packers. And then the bears, you got to think about the best trying to punch through. I think the bears will compete for a wildcard spot, but there was never a guarantee as we know, it's not a guarantee for anybody.

There was no guarantee. The Minnesota Vikings are just going to win the NFC North. Think about the quarterback play that they have in the division right now, the Detroit lions, top of the mountain or whatever. Hickey, where do lions hang out?

I don't know. There are mountains. There you got mountain lions. What was the place in the plains? Yeah. Yeah. I remember Lion King. What was that a rock? A rock.

Yep. With Simba, whatever that rock was. Was it, am I making stuff up?

Let me, let me, let me, let me relax. I don't know. Did the rock have a name in Lion King? Did it have a name? I hate to say you're asking the wrong guy. You, you've never seen Lion King?

I have seen Lion King, but it's been a year, like decades. Yeah. It was called pride rock. Yeah. Okay. I remember now, but genius pride rock.

Anyway, the lines are at the top of it. And then you got everybody else and Minnesota's in that, that same fight. You think every one of these teams is going to make it to the postseason?

I think not. I think the Vikings are still in a good position. And so does Sam Dawn even got getting a Hockinson back and Sam Donald says, we going to be out. We just got to do the little things right. And, you know, hash out the details. And I feel like if we do that, we're going to be a really good offense and a really good team. And, or I know we're going to be a really good offense and a really good team. And so, um, yeah, it's just, it's little things that we can control.

So we're just gonna, you know, look ourselves in the mirror, watch the tape and get better from it. Yeah, they'll be fine. They'll be fine. As long as he doesn't turn into a pumpkin sooner than later, but let's be real. The Lions, the Vikings, the Packers and the bears, all of them, they're all going to the postseason.

The answer is, is, is no. Only close thing to a guarantee, barring injury, is the Lions. Everybody else is going to have to fight.

Let's see what the Minnesota Vikings do. The referee stunk at the end of the game. They got on my nerves. I was angry.

I was upset. More so even at this was not a play that was reviewable. What else is new? NFL wakes up. They change the rules. They do what they want. Life goes on. And I'm glad the Minnesota Vikings accept that.

Control what you can control and don't necessarily worry about anything else. It's the JR sport re-show here with you coast to coast on the infinity sports network. Man, we just getting warmed up. We have more football to talk about. We got college football tonight. College football tomorrow. We got basketball. The NBA is back all weekend. We got the world series getting started in about two hours from now.

We got a lot to do. You're locked into the JR sport re-show here with you on the infinity sports network. When we come back on the other side, Hey, speaking of coming back, Cooper cup came back and we also have some other NFL players who will be returning this weekend. I'm going to tell you who on the other side of the break. It's the JR sport re-show infinity sports network.

Don't move. You're listening to the JR sport brief. It's the JR sport re-show here with you coast to coast on the infinity sports network. 8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27. That's 8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27.

Yeah. Now that we got week eight of the NFL season underway, we can start looking forward to the rest of the games that are going to take place this weekend. We'll dive into some of them later on in the show and think about the Dallas Cowboys and the 49ers.

I feel like I'm being thrown back into the nineties. We have a battle of the rookie quarterbacks. Maybe you got, you know, Jayden Daniels, Caleb Williams going at each other, two rookie QBs trying to show who's the boss. Both have been just playing spectacular.

And, but you know what, before we get to that, I got to mention this. I didn't, I didn't do it last break because we were focused in on them blind referees and the Minnesota Vikings, who I think did a good job, not throwing the rest under the bus. They blame themselves, but, but here's the deal. Cooper cup came back. He did both Cooper cup and Puka Nakua made their returns for the Los Angeles Rams yesterday, the Los Angeles Rams with this victory, you know, over the Minnesota Vikings, their record is now three and four. Sean McVay is like, yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever, whatever.

We're turning things around. Matthew Stafford threw four touchdowns. Puka Nakua did miss a beat, 106 yards receiving. Cooper cup had 51 yards receiving to go along with a touchdown.

And this is a little bit of, I don't want to call it a bombshell. Sean McVay said after the game, he told everybody, he's like, uh, we are happy to have Cooper back. And by the way, uh, we ain't trying to trade him. Listen to this. Here's what I'll tell you. Teams reached out.

Some of the things that I've seen out there, they're just not true. Um, you know, we've addressed that with those individuals. Um, teams have called, um, about him. Um, and, and really, we, we let him know what the dialogue was there. And then there's a lot of stuff out there where there's not a lot of accountability to the reports.

And that's, that's unfortunate. Do you think the performance tonight makes you guys more apt to keep, to possibly entertain offers? Yeah, I don't, I don't think about those things. I think about coaching our team. You know, I think a lot of the things that were out there, speculation was, um, exactly what that was.

Speculation. We're an inside out organization. I'm really glad to have Cooper cup back with us.

Um, and that's what I expect to stay that way. They got Seattle next. If they would've lost the game, this wouldn't even be a conversation. They'd be trading his ass out of there. And I still think they'll move him. But if the price doesn't fit that, I guess he will stay. This is likely just a matter of posturing.

I still think you move on. I'm not, I'm not keeping this guy around with my 36 year old quarterback. I know Matthew Stafford can still play, but is this a Super Bowl contender?

Like, have they been a Super Bowl contender? I mean, now you got Aaron Donald sitting around on the beach. I don't know where he is. Maybe he's back home in Pittsburgh. I have no idea, but he ain't on the football field.

His team is not worth a damn. I'm sorry. My apologies to all the Rams fans. I'm just, I'm just being honest, move Cooper cup.

I think there are better decisions to be made or worse decisions. It just move the guy. Speaking of being moved to a Tonga below this week, this man has been moved back to the practice field and it looks like to a Tonga Valoa is going to make his start, his return against the Arizona Cardinals. The Miami Dolphins are two and four. We haven't seen to a since week two of the season. He only played two games before he was knocked out again versus the Buffalo Bills. Now they will tell you this is his third documented concussion. Don't forget that week.

Hickey, what do you get popped twice in a week? And one of them, they didn't call a concussion, right? A couple of years ago. That is correct. Unfortunately. Yeah. Let's put it this way. We have seen to a Tonga Valoa unfortunately get rag dolled multiple occasions where he has looked loopy.

All right. I don't care what is a diagnosed concussion. This guy's been knocked the hell out quite a few times.

So many times already that it's just been uncomfortable to watch. So to a Tonga Valoa is on his way back and his head coach, Mike McDaniel says, I'm excited. Words can't describe how excited I get for all players that have opportunities that I know they don't take for granted, that they've earned, that they've that they it's very exciting from a human perspective as a coach of this team. You know, that it's meaningful to watch people go after their dreams. No, I want to see people go after their dreams as safely as safely.

I would agree, yes, with without possible long term side effects that could impact the rest of your life. Yeah, I hope. I hope, by the way. Not that I think he's not going to play. Tyreek Hill is questionable with a foot injury. We don't know the details.

We don't know the specifics. He's questionable. He did not practice today. Now, if you're to a Tonga Valoa and you're returning and you're playing against the Cardinals who are just going to run around like crazy folks, airing the ball out, wouldn't you want Tyreek Hill out there?

I think the answer already is yes. And I think Tyreek will play. He's probably why he didn't practice today, given him a little bit of extra time off before the game on Sunday. Tyreek Hill, he is someone who really misses to a Tonga Valoa this year, especially compared to last year where the Dolphins offense was just hitting at number one this season. Tyreek Hill, only two hundred and ninety four yards receiving. He has one touchdown. Not not what you would want, not what you would look for.

Not what you would want, not what you would look for. I'm not overly concerned. I think Tyreek Hill will be out there on the football field. Someone who also is concerned and not about Tyreek Hill to his former coach is concerned. Nick Saban was on ESPN. He was on Pat McAfee's show and Nick Saban, he was he's being like a dad, a grandpa, a coach. He said he is concerned about Tua Tonga Valoa and his return. Listen to Nick Saban. You know, I'm concerned that I want Tua to be safe and healthy and not have a football career that's going to impact him down the road. All right, number one.

All right. Number two is, I think organizationally, this is a medical decision. This is not an organization that's a decision. People look at him and say, why are they letting him play? I think the doctors make that decision.

It's a medical decision. Then for him, it becomes personal then as to I really want to play. I'm a competitor. I love playing. I want to play. So he has to make a decision.

Is the risk reward from a medical standpoint worth it to you? And I think all those things are in play now. If he wants to play, which I've talked to him and I know he wants to play, I know what kind of competitor he is, then I'm happy for him that he's having the opportunity to play.

But I also pray for him that he doesn't have any issues. Oh, look at that. Nick Saban has all the answers already. Hickey, the whole time I was just saying, so just call him up. He said he did already. And look, Hickey, Tua is a grown man. He is a grown man.

He can make his own decision. You know, I haven't seen too many NFL teams that say, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. We're paying you all this money.

So we're just going to give you the boot. Like the NFL teams are going to run you ragged until you have nothing left. Like, do you really? And from a human level, yeah, we care. Yeah, we care. But from a money standpoint, which they are a business, how invested are the dolphins or any NFL team and what a player does or how they're living 50 years from now? Stephen Ross is not going to be around.

I'm not trying to be, you know, a jerk or a clown here. He can care now. He's just like, can he play? Is he OK?

The doctor said he's what are the doctors going to do? The doctors, they got independent doctors and this and that. But everybody has their hand in the pot. Nobody.

Hickey, am I wrong to say nobody? You can care. You could be like a surface level human and care. But if you got to think about your best interest, nobody cares about Tua like Tua does. And they're going to protect themselves first, not Tua Tonga Veloa. You're right. I mean, it's a harsh reality, right? I mean, you kind of saw with other players like Robert Griffin, the third with his knee injury, he was run out there definitely a lot sooner than he should have been.

And like you said, no one player to like Tua is in this as well. No one thinks about or really cares 30 years down the road. How is this going to impact me?

It's all about here and now. Can I win this weekend? Can I play? Can I live up to the contract? Can I try to win a Super Bowl?

Can I make my teammates happy? The foresight, you know, to look in the future does not exist. That's part of the reason why this decision is being made.

And we played the audio from two earlier this week. It doesn't sound like there's any doubt or even second thoughts. Yeah, none. He even was like, hey, I'm not I'm not wearing no guardian cap.

I'm not doing that. He didn't want to elaborate. He doesn't need to.

He's just like personal choice. Okay. Because you don't want to look goofy.

So what, Tua? If you didn't need to wear a helmet, if the NFL didn't mandate that every single player wear a helmet, would you wear the helmet or would you be running out there with nothing on? Why not take the added layer of protection?

You don't want to look goofy. Okay, we get it. We get it. Understand?

Understood? Good luck to Tua Tonga Valoa. And we had this a couple of seasons ago and it's just like, oh, is he going to get knocked the hell out? Never want to see that again. He came back last year and led one of the most dynamic offenses in the NFL. And this year he got knocked the hell out again. You know, there's not going to be a game, a snap that I watch of Tua Tonga Valoa this year where it's not, whoa, what's going to happen to this guy? I hope he can make it through the game.

Okay. I hope he does not get knocked silly. You know, God bless Alex Smith. A few seasons ago, at this point after he broke his leg, needed almost what, 20 surgeries, maybe 20 plus surgeries to correct it. After I saw his leg and heard about the comeback, I said to myself, man, I don't need to watch Alex Smith play football.

Stay home, bro. That's not, my choice is his. And it's admirable what he did and how he came back. And he was able to get out on the field and then walk away from the game on his own terms. But knowing what his leg looked like, knowing what his leg went through, knowing how it was broken, knowing how many procedures and, and God bless him, comeback player this, an SP's award for that, an inspiration. We need people like Alex Smith who are not going to quit.

People who ain't going to listen to somebody like me. I didn't want to see him on that field. Every time Alex Smith stepped onto that field, I'm like, oh my God, please. And I'm glad he made it through.

It's not guaranteed for everybody. We know the NFL is a violent game. And if Tua plays long enough, you want to know he's going to have himself another concussion.

It's just a matter of when. Good luck to the guy. I wish him nothing but the best. I told you the Dolphins are going to take on the Arizona Cardinals. It's the JR Sport Reshow here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. 855-212-4227.

That's 855-212-4227. We all got choices to make. We all got decisions to make, and we all have to live with the decisions and choices that we make and what comes after.

It's the JR Sport Reshow. We are going to take a break and we come back on the other side. People are going to be making decisions on a Friday, aren't they right? We got some college football tonight. And speaking of decisions, if you are in Southern California, you got decisions too. And the best decision you might be able to make is to stay home because the city is packed. It's full of sports. It's full of bodies. It's full of visitors.

It's full of pollution and even more traffic. We'll talk about it on the other side. And then speaking of tonight, one of the college football games I am oh so ready to see features a guy who, well, he's just running through everybody.

Literally. We're going to talk about Ashton Jentsy on the other side of the break. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief. It is the JR Sport Reshow here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. Man, at the top of the hour, we're going to go out west and talk about the World Series. Game one of the World Series gets started. About 90 minutes from now, the New York Yankees are in Los Angeles getting ready to take on the Dodgers in game one. You have Jack Flaherty and Garrett Cole on the mound for the Dodgers and the Yankees respectively. And we'll talk about that match up in a few minutes.

But before we do that, talked about the Rams and the Vikings are going to get into some college football. Tonight is one hell of a night in Los Angeles. If you are outside, good luck. Like the guy from Taken says at the end of the movie, he says good luck because it is as busy as as hell. I'm going to tell you how busy Los Angeles is in a second.

Speaking of L.A., Hickey, while we were here in the break, and I'm just kind of combing around looking at news and what have you, and not that this is any type of groundbreaking news, it is not. I didn't know that this woman was still around, but it popped up because it's Atlanta related. Hawk to a girl. Remember her? Yes, I do. You do? Yeah.

So who doesn't remember the Hawk to a girl? That's right. She was very famous for a very short amount of time. Well, she has pledged her allegiance. She has revealed because she was a Mets fan. Right. Is that what happened? She was a Mets fan.

And then they almost went to the World Series. Correct. So now she is or she's revealed on social media that she is a fan of the Atlanta Hawks. Ah, get it, get it. Oh, I get it. So does do they do anything for basketball?

I guess not where there's no first pitch. Who? What? Like the Hawks are going to invite Hawk to a girl here?

Yeah. So we have a seat behind one of the baskets that is sponsored. And there are a lot of celebrities who go to Hawks games, tons of them. And they typically select one celebrity every game. And this celebrity sits in the seats behind the bench. And so that might be the one fan who is typically highlighted. Based on the Atlanta Hawks response on social media to Hawk to a girl.

I don't know if that's going to happen. Because in response, the Atlanta Hawks are so they're so crazy. This is why I love them.

I love them. You know what the Hawks said in response as a as a caption underneath? Wait, this is their their official Twitter account. The official Atlanta Hawks Twitter account responded to a Hawk to a girl saying she said, yes, I'm supporting the Hawks this season. She's inviting Trae Young onto her podcast.

And then she did a dance. The Atlanta Hawks said, we good. There's two words, no emojis, no explanation. It just said we good. That is hilarious. And shout outs to the Hawks. The Hawks are funny, man.

They come up with some real funny stuff themselves. The provocative marketing with Harry the Hawk and the Hawks can be very forward facing. They said we good. They could have said more, but they said enough. And I don't think Hawk to a girl for right now is getting an invite here to Atlanta.

I don't think the Hawks want to lean into the Hawk to of it all anymore. So just found that funny, ironically. And I'm not a I'm not a what are you I don't study geography. Is she look like she was she definitely was out west. She wasn't here in Atlanta filming that video. She could have been in California, Arizona, something like that. She was she was she looked like she was in L.A. Let's just put it that way. So all the best of her. She might want to pick the Los Angeles Lakers.

She might go to the Lakers game tonight if she can make it. I want you to take a listen to this clip. This is from earlier today on KTLA talking about how Los Angeles, the traffic is going to be a nightmare today because there's so much going on in the world of sports and entertainment.

Listen to this. Think of it as Carmageddon sports edition. So Cal Freeways will be at a gridlock more than usual for a Friday with major sporting events and concerts taking place throughout. Traffic's going to be ridiculous. It's going to be out of out of hand.

It's already bad as it is. Of course, the main headliner game one of the World Series at Dodger Stadium between the boys in blue and New York Yankees. Tonight is tonight is crazy. Listen, it doesn't just start or stop with the Dodgers and Yankees in game one of the World Series. The Lakers play the Suns at Crypto Dotcom Arena. You have a high school football classic and they ain't just playing at somebody's high school backyard. They're playing this game at SoFi Stadium.

I believe it's going to be on ESPN. You have USC versus Rutgers at the L.A. Coliseum.

USC is trying to bounce back. We have a David Gilmour concert at the brand new Intuit Dome, the home of the Clippers. And then we have another concert at the Kia Forum, which is owned by the Knicks owner, James Dolan. There's just so much going on.

It makes no sense. Even Lincoln Riley. This is a little bit of a surprise.

Lincoln Riley, who's just getting this behind beat. He's just like, I don't like Friday night games at home. I don't like them. The Friday kicks here aren't ideal in L.A. because that's and I know there's a lot of other great sporting events going on on Friday. But those are those obviously provide some challenges in L.A. that are unique to our place. And so those are the ones I'm really not a not a fan of. Picky, what time do the fans show up?

I think the question is, do they even show up, period? Oh, to see USC? You just mentioned everything going on in L.A. If you would like rank in terms of like appeal to go, USC is on the bottom of that list.

I think I'd rather go to a high school game or a concert. Who's playing it? Maybe it's just me. I've never heard of that person. David Gilmour. I've never heard of him.

I don't know. I'd rather go to his concert than watch USC right now play Rutgers. Well, I know USC as well. I know there's more booze at the Intuit Dome, so I'd go there, too. Good thinking. You're right.

I go there, too. You know, all things considered, if this was and I can't say if there was no traffic, you could hit you could hit not maybe at the same time. Maybe, you know, these venues are. What's the furthest one out? The Dodger Stadium, going from Dodger Stadium to Crypto.com is closed so fast. It might be the Coliseum. It's no more than 40 minutes apart. And this is all in traffic. This is going to be hours if you wanted to go from one side of town to the other. And so, hey, look, if you're in L.A. right now and maybe you are sitting in some of this traffic as the games and the concerts get ready to go, I hope you have a good old time.

I hope you do. And if you're not in Southern California or you are in Southern California and not going to any of these events, good. Nothing better than sitting at home. You don't have to wait in line for the bathroom.

You don't have to, you know, spend 20 bucks for beer. Good position. Well, at least now in the Intuit Dome. Didn't they didn't they tout how many toilets they have in there with Steve Ballmer said, oh, yeah, there's no waiting there.

Yeah, you go to the bathroom just like at home. Plenty of space. Plenty of space.

Yeah. Shout outs to everybody out in Los Angeles. And, you know, that's not even the only thing going on tonight. There's nothing to do in L.A. today, but we got one college football game that I'm really looking forward to. We got Boise State UNLV. That is going to be a lot of fun. You might remember UNLV had its quarterback quit about a month ago because he wasn't getting paid.

Put that down as a list on the list of things I never thought I'd say. But everybody is ready to see Ashton Gente. That's what people want to see. Is this man going to pick up more yardage to ultimately break Barry Sanders all time Russian record? And we are going to find out this man already through six games, one thousand two hundred forty eight yards, 17 touchdowns in six games.

Let me say that again. He has 17 rushing touchdowns in six games. He is a beast. I want to see him win the Heisman Award, his head coach Spencer Danielson. He says UNLV says they're better than they've gotten credit for, but we're still going to run through him.

I got to say, just gritty. I mean, you look at, you know, in all three phases, it's just great. What I mean by that, Mike, is, I mean, they just find ways to make plays, to do it for each other. I mean, on the road, beat Houston, beat Kansas, beat Oregon State. I mean, those are those are big time. I mean, I'm shocked they're not ranked in the top twenty five.

I mean, they deserve that for sure. But the quarterback quit on it. Don't be ranked in nothing.

Sorry about that. Here's the deal. If I had Ashton Jenti, you put him in L.A., you don't have to wait in traffic.

Put a skateboard on that guy and just tell him to move everybody on out the way. That's the one college football game I do want to see. And it's not even Saturday. We got a lot of big games that are going to come our way tomorrow. And so what?

You know what? We're going to talk more about that. Mike Sanford Jr., he's going to join us in a few hours. And then, hey, we got Max Starks, former Steeler. He's going to join us in about 40 minutes to talk some football as well. We got a lot to do. Let's stay out west with the Yankees and the Dodgers. Talk about that more on the other side of the break. It's the J.R. sport we show coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network.
