Jerry Jones' explosive interview with a radio host has sparked controversy, while the New York Yankees are leading the Guardians in the series. The Philadelphia 76ers are struggling with injuries, including Joel Embiid's decision to sit out back-to-back games, and Paul George's knee bruise. Meanwhile, the San Francisco 49ers' Ricky Pearsall is making a remarkable recovery after being shot in an attempted robbery.

It is the JR Sport Brief Show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. I'm coming to you live from Atlanta, Georgia. Oh, by the way, the Super Bowl is going to be here in 2028.

Good for us. A lot going on. Super producer and host Ryan Hickey.

He's in New York City. Thank you for listening. I'll be hanging out with you for one more hour. This show gets started every single weekday. That means Monday through Friday at 6 p.m. Eastern, 3 Pacific. So whether you're on the West Coast, like the guy asking me for NC rent or whether you're here on the East Coast, I don't know, ask me about Nas or something.

I don't know. I'm here for everybody. My people in Toronto who like Drake and they still like Drake, I don't know. My people in Memphis, Eight Ball at MJG. My people in Florida love Trick Daddy. Everywhere.

I don't know where you live. I couldn't name. Hickey, is there a hip hop artist out of Boise?

No, I don't think so. Biz Markie sounds like Boise, sort of, right? Biz Markie? He's from New York.

I was trying to go more sounding like Biz Markie or is it Biz Markie, Boise? No. No. Does this, did I just see an umpire? Did he have a camera in his chest? Did you see that? Yes.

Yes, I'm seeing it right now. He does. Do we need cameras and chest? Why don't we just get the automatic robot up? Do we need that?

What are we doing here? Do you like in football when the referee has the camera on his hat? No, no, no, no. I hate that. The pylon. I noticed the pylon can move the other day. I forgot what I was looking at. I said, did the camera move in a pylon?

Did the wind blow it? I don't know. We don't need all these stupid cameras. Just get the, use the technology and get the call right. Bad. I mean, please. What, just get the call right?

Yeah. It's ridiculous how many missed calls there are. Uneasy calls. Missed calls, favorable calls, unfavorable. That game sucked last night.

Hickey, I don't think we got the full pain of it. We were here, but there was so many, 22 penalties. What did that stretch the game out more about?

Another 20 minutes? That's all that. And those were accepted penalties. And there were a few that were declined.

There were a few offsetting. There were, I mean, Joe and Troy were very upset. It's the worst, man. Nobody wants to sit through that crap. Just let the game flow.

If the guys got to beat each other up, then let them do it. Just let the game keep moving. Speaking of a game moving in New York Yankees, Garrett Cole got out of a bases loaded jam. The Yankees lead the guardians three to nothing. It's the bottom of the fourth. The Yankees are up at bat trying to put some more runs up on the board. The Yankees lead the series one to nothing tonight. They're trying to go up two.

Oh, and the guardians they're trying to tie the series at one all it's been one hell of a day. Devante Adams gets traded to the New York Jets. Amari Cooper goes from the Browns.

He ends up on the Buffalo Bills. What a wild day. And then the way we opened up the day was pretty tough. It was Jerry Jones pretty much annihilating his hosts on the morning show. Sean and RJ Choppy.

And we had RJ on the show yesterday. These guys are sitting around doing their job, asking Jerry Jones questions and asking him about the team and performance and three and one getting destroyed by the Lions. And let's just say that Jerry Jones took issue with the line of questioning. And then he actually put out a statement doubling down on why he was upset.

This wild stuff. I want you to hear it in a second. But we have a young man who's been waiting very patiently on the phone line. So let's talk to him.

And then we'll hear from an angry person. Let's go from young to old. Jared is calling from Minnesota.

You're on the JR sport. What's up, Jared? Hey, how are you, Jared? Good. How old are you? You call you called by yourself or did somebody call up?

I call by myself. OK. All right. Well, what's your question? Go ahead.

What? I said, what's your question? Go ahead.

Quick. I had a question. Why do you say I'm sad about the Tigers? Oh, no, I'm sad about them, too. They'll be they'll be OK next year. OK, we have to see how the seasons go.

All right. Well, I'm happy. But the Lions, I love the line here. Lions beat the Cowboys, Jared. Well, good luck. I like the Lions. I think they're going to compete for a Super Bowl, OK?

Well, what about in Hutchinson? Well, yeah, we're going to we're going to hope his leg heals up. He has to eat his.

What do you eat? He has to take his medicine and come back bigger and stronger like you. OK. OK, get some sleep, OK? I have one more thing. OK, what is it? I asked my daddy if I'm OK. OK, I don't know what you said.

It's probably for the better. You go get some rest, OK? I said I asked my daddy if I have an uncle J.R. last week. Oh, that was your uncle.

Right, right. I asked my daddy. He said, you're not my uncle. OK, well, listen, listen to your dad, OK, Jared? But you said you're my uncle. Well, what did your dad say? He said no. So believe him, not me. OK, why did you say that?

Why did I say that? Because I'm everybody's uncle. OK, I'm everybody.

Everybody's uncle. OK, hmm. Not you, though, I guess you have a good night to get some rest. OK. OK, thank you, Jared. Thank you so much. Thank you so much.

Thank you. Hickey, a five year old, knows how to use a phone. And knows how to ask the right questions to keep him away from Jerry Jones. He has a better temperament than Jerry Jones. I'll tell you that much. He's a child.

Very much so. Jerry Jones is 77 years older than that young man. That young man has better manners than Jerry Jones. Let's listen to Jerry Jones this morning. This is breakfast time. Angry on one oh five three, the fan he's asked about the off season, the lack of one, or at least the movement, the lack of movement in the off season by the Dallas Cowboys.

And Jerry Jones lost it. If you think I'm interested in a phone call with you over a radio and sitting here and throwing all the good out with the dishwater, you have got to be smoking something over there this morning. I'm not.

And I really don't. And I don't even want our listeners to listen to me to talk about this is not your job. Your job isn't to let me go over all the reasons that I did something.

And I'm sorry that I did it. That's not your job. Well, my job is to ask you a job or I'll get another. I'll get somebody else to ask these questions, man. Jerry, we're just we're trying to figure out why the team is. I'm not kidding. I'm not kidding. You're not going to figure out. It's what the team is doing right or wrong. If you are or any five or 10 like you, you need to come to this meeting I'm going to today.

There are 32 teams here. You're geniuses. You don't really think you're going to sit here with a microphone and tell me all of the things that I've done wrong and without going over the right. So let's let's just go ahead. I'm trying to answer your questions, man.

You want some conversation this morning? You'll get that. Oh, my goodness. A little feisty, right?

A little feisty. Well, Jerry Jones was asked in that same interview, why are you so mad? Listen to this. You say you don't go into this.

We can go into this. I'm saying what I'm saying. Don't tell me what I'm saying. OK. Jerry, why are you getting so mad at us or just asking you why the blowouts are happening, the historical differences at home? We're just asking about on behalf of the fans and you're getting you're getting real ticked off and mad at us. We're just I'm not.

Hey, can I tell you something, guys? I don't get mad at people that I can not be with if I don't want to be with. I don't get mad. You're asking me for a response and I'm giving you a response.

We got to play better and we got to play better at specific points. Wow. We know that. He just he's angry. He should be angry at himself. Like, he didn't want to answer a simple question about, hey, the lack of the office. He's like, I don't want to go back in time.

That doesn't do anything. And not to answer your questions. Come on, Foghorn, Leghorn.

No, man, come on. Don't work that way. You're just angry. Be angry at yourself. You've been running the team.

You don't want to lose it. It is 2024. We a long way away from 1996. That's a generation, man.

I don't know. Is that two generations that don't know? So let's put it this way. You could be 30 years old and not remember a Cowboys championship. You could be 15 years old and not remember a Cowboys championship.

Like, we're that far off. Jerry Jones is what, 82, 83? I think he turned. His birthday was today, I think.

Let's see. When is this man's birthday? Oh, his birthday was two days ago. 82 years old. Let me tell you something. You don't got 30 more birthdays in him. He doesn't.

You better get it together and be nice to people while you're here, damn it. Chomping him down. And Hickey, he had, what is this?

From Diana Rossini. He spoke to the athletic and he had, did he double down? Is this what I'm reading right now? Oh, he did.

It was not an apology he issued. Oh my goodness. Let me read this. He spoke to Diana Rossini from the athletic. Listen to Jerry Jones. I have to read it. He told it to her.

I don't know that I would go as far as calling the volume connotation as yelling. Okay. But the facts are that if I'm going to be grilled by the tribunal, I don't need it to be by the guys I am paying. I can take it from the fans and take it from the other people. I take a lot of pride in how fair and how much I try to work with the media.

We're brothers and sisters, but I was a little frustrated there today. The wrong ones were doing the questioning. Now, if those had been real fans sitting there, or if there had been people that knew what they were talking about, football people, I might have had a different answer. Wow.

Wow. Jerry Jones is being a full-on jerk right now. You don't have to be a football person to understand common sense. I don't need to be a chef to know what tastes good and what tastes bad. I don't. And I know what the Dallas Cowboys have been serving up has been complete crap on a plate.

Look at the results. Are you just out there playing for the regular season every year? Are you playing for the postseason? 12 and five, 12 and five, 12 and five, disappointment, disappointment, disappointment. I don't got to be a football man to understand that. They suck.

That's one of the biggest cop outs. Whether you happen to be a billionaire owner of a $10 billion sports franchise, or whether you happen to be a professional athlete, well, you didn't play. You don't know. You're damn right I didn't, but I watch enough. I have a discerning eye. I know crap when I see it. And I can smell it too. The Dallas Cowboys are full of it. And it's not because the fair is in town. They are garbage. Pretty funny that he's flexing.

82 year old, 82 year old billionaire flexing, right? I don't expect these line of questions from people. No people. The team is three and three.

The team is three and three. People are concerned. People are like, Hey, maybe if we did something in the off season and talk about how you believe in your guys. Oh yeah. He says that already. Here's the deal. Jerry Jones is running out of things to say because they didn't do anything enough in the off season and the Dallas Cowboys do stink.

And so what is a, what is it? What is a dog going to do? Just going to holler. Now there's nothing else to do is screaming, yelling, make noise. There's nothing else to do. So Jerry Jones is going to scream and yell and cry for the rest of the year.

Be prepared. And the fact that he said, he said he, he pays, what do you say? Let me read this. Who did he say he pays? Let's see.

I don't need it to be by the guys I'm paying. We heard from some of the guys, right? They said they don't get money from him. Right. All have taken to Twitter to deny that Jerry pays them. So another interesting plot twist here.

Yeah. Not to say that I know everybody's business, but it would be, it would be very odd. The, so the one Oh five three, the fan in Dallas, that is the flagship station for the Dallas Cowboys. They, they broadcast the games. They, they have a working partnership with the team. It would be odd and out of place without just sharing every business piece of business about what we do. It would be odd for Jerry Jones to be paying them that, that kind of would buck the norms of business and just everything.

It's, it would also be odd to hear he's paying the state. I don't know. Maybe he misspoke. I don't know.

It just sounds like an 82 year old angry guy rambling. Does Jerry Jones have power? Yes, he does. Is it good to have, you know, the Cowboys on the station? Good.

Yes. Is it good for Jerry Jones business-wise to talk to the fans and then talk to him through the radio? Keep that in mind.

And a lot of cases, and I know the world has changed. Well, I can at least say journalism, you know, that opens up the door to the fans. And so if you're an 82 year old owner of the Dallas Cowboys, please recognize that you can talk directly to the fans. Do it. Hey, you're Jerry Jones, start your own radio station.

Use your own website, do podcasts. You don't, you don't gotta talk to them. I'm not advising you to, but don't be complaining when things get hot. And the team stinks when the questions get tough. And that wasn't no tough question.

You don't think the off season had anything to do with what was going on now, three and three, what would you say about the criticism? Answer it, man. I don't want to answer your question.

Not from you. Grouchy ass. Get used to it. A lot more grouch on the way. Damn. Picky, that five-year-old we spoke to, he was better on the phone than Jerry Jones.

He absolutely was much more emotionally mature. Oh, well, you know what they say, you get to a certain point in life. It is what it is, right?

Nothing changes after that. Sad. Very, very sad. Let's see how this continues to sink between the New York Jets and at least the Jets got a chance. And I'm not saying the Cowboys are not making a playoffs.

I don't know. I know they ain't winning a championship, which is going to be an equal disaster. They may not make the postseason, which will be a disaster. It just is all the drama for the entire NFL.

Jets, Cowboys, the Browns. Now we got all these coaches that are just well, then we might have another coach getting fired soon. You know what? We're going to take a break.

We come back on the other side. We'll talk about some of the coaches that they actually got Vegas odds on which coach is going to be getting the boot next to has the highest odds to get fired. Like Rob solid did last week. The only difference is I don't think there are any quarterbacks left that can fire the coach on their own. It's the chairmen that are going to be on the infinity sports network.

The phone lines are open 8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27. Take a break, get to some of your calls, talk about the coaches, give you an update on the Yankees. And oh yeah, by the way, I did mention this. If you're a fan of the Philadelphia 76ers, you can still quit while you're ahead. I will explain. It's the JR sport. We show you how to get the ball. We show you how to get the ball.

You can still quit while you're ahead. I will explain. It's the JR sport.

We show on the infinity sports network. You're listening to the JR sport brief. Oh yeah.

Okay. Yeah, this is, I know this version. This is the ice cube.

You better check yourself before you wreck yourself. I know Jerry Jones. I know he loves this song. Jerry Jones loves ice cube.

If I say any more lyrics, I will not have a job. And not because of Jerry Jones either. 8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27.

That's 8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27. Just talked about Jerry Jones, just angry, angry on the radio, angry putting out statements, just being a bully, just being a bully. Anyway, uh, Hey, New York Yankees lead a shrunk Yankees lead the guardians three to two and two guys out clay homes on the mound. Uh, Garrett Cole is done for the night. What does this guy's number look like?

Uh, not the number, what does his line look like? A four and a third, six hits, one run, another one just passed on, uh, four walks and a four strikeouts. Okay. Let's see if the New York Yankees can, uh, I don't know, win the game or whether or not the guardians can catch up. We'll see.

Anyway, I need to do this cause it's important. The defensive player of the week is sponsored by the Navy federal credit union who probably serves the armed forces, DOD veterans and their families. Their members are the mission.

You can learn more at Navy federal.org. Bill's defensive back Taylor rap. This man was a one man wrecking crew last night. He recorded the game ceiling interception to help Buffalo beat the jets 23 to 20 and send Aaron Rogers home miserable rap. He loved the defense, had eight tackles, three passes defended as the bills moved to four and two on the season. The New York jets are crap. Aaron Rogers is miserable. They bring in Davante Adams, the bills, Adam, Ari Cooper.

Nice. Just great stuff all the way around. The Buffalo bills move forward with less drama in the New York jets. They, they continue to add some, they add talent and Davante Adams. We know that we know the guys talented, but I feel like Aaron Rogers is just, it's like the puppeteer.

And we knew what he was going to be from the minute the New York jets brought him on. And so now they all just, they suffer under his watch unless they win a championship, which I don't think is the case. Heck yeah, I'll be conflicted.

I'll be conflicted if they win. You want to know why? Yes, very much so. Cause I don't like Aaron Rogers. Fair. You don't want to see a jerk get rewarded.

Yeah. I've waited my whole life. I've waited my whole life to see them win a championship and I get it.

I understand swinging for the fences to bring them in. I guess you had no choice after you made a mistake with Zach Wilson, but to see him win a trophy, it's like, Oh, this dude rolled in was a jerk and won. I'm supposed to, I won't feel as happy as if it was just like a homegrown guy that they drafted and people love. People don't love him. Who loves him? Does anybody love Aaron Rogers? The list is very short and does not include his family. Oh, well, no, he reunited his dad, right?

He saw his dad, right? They said something like that. Yeah.

Something like that. It seems to be on the right path, thankfully. Okay.

Well, let's take a listen to Aaron Rogers because of course he was on Pat McAfee's show today and he told everybody, yeah, adding Devante Adams, no duh. It's a good thing. Yeah. Obviously I'm really excited. Uh, love today.

He's a phenomenal player. Uh, and a dear friend. It was a crappy day yesterday. Obviously we had real good chance to get to three and three and, and, uh, went home game. I was pissed, uh, driving home through traffic, had a couple messages.

I was just not in the mood to talk to anybody. Got home, Ted called me and texted me. And I, so I finally called him back. And so about, I don't know, 1230, 1245 last night. And I heard the news.

Uh huh. Well, he was miserable last night as he stood at the podium and threw Mike Williams under the bus. He just miserable. I'm like, dude, man. Like it's one thing that I hold myself accountable.

I hold other people. But if anybody went out and talk crap about him, the way that he talks crap about other people, he'd have a fit, a fit eight, five, five, two, one, two 40, two 27. I mean, his coach got the boot Rob style. I got fired last week. How about this Vegas has a line out on which coaches are going to get fired next.

Highest odds, Doug Peterson followed by Mike McCarthy. Of course, Kevin's the fan. You can't fire Kevin Stefanski.

Come on now. It had the trade away of Mari Cooper. Offensive line has been hurt.

It's been crap. The Sean Watson doesn't look like he likes to play football. I mean, you can't find Kevin. Stefanski's a two-time coach of the year, but I guess if you can find Mike Vrabel, because he's actually the smartest guy in the building, the three of the Tennessee Titans, then I guess everybody can be fired. Antonio Pierce is fourth on the list here. Let's see if he says anything stupid between now and the end of the year, he could be fired. And then Zach Taylor, the Cincinnati Bengals. I don't think he's going anywhere, but Doug Peterson.

Oh, hell yeah. Players were talking about how they, they, they quit out in London against the Chicago Bears this past Sunday. Let's hear Doug Peterson again.

This is from yesterday. He says, man, I'm just, I'm just trying to change the culture around here. Obviously we're, we're, we've lost some games here, right? So we want to change that culture to a winning culture. That's, that's why we coach and that's why we play. I think, you know, to that statement that I made, I mean, you know, these, these, these guys, listen, they, they, they bust their tail. I've said this and you've seen, I mean, you've seen how we've practiced. I mean, these guys bust their tails during the week and I don't want it to, I don't want them to feel, even though we haven't won yet, I don't want them to feel sort of mentally defeated, if that makes sense.

Because that's where the slippery slope comes in, right? If you feel like you're going into a game where you don't have a chance, then you're not going to have a chance. You're not going to give yourself an opportunity to win that game.

Oh man, what a struggle. When your team is bad and you're team is bad and you have to talk to the media and you have nothing to say, pretty pathetic, pretty pitiful. Like, I don't know, like this guy, Mike McCarthy, we heard from his boss, Jerry Jones, Mike McCarthy from yesterday, after the Cowboys got smashed by the lions, told everybody that our team's fundamentals are bad. Well, is that your fault or anybody else's?

Listen to this guy. Our basics are not in order. I think just like anything, stating the obvious, starts with the turnover ratio. Fundamentals of football are part of your everyday existence in this game. And we cannot function at where we are as far as the number of giveaways and and the lack of takeaways.

So, you know, so I just really, you know, kept it about football and, you know, the technique fundamentals and how you improve that and the focus with that. That's a lot of sighing. Every sigh is just like one step closer to being fired. 855-212-4227. That's 855-212-4227. Jonathan is here from San Diego. You're on the JR sport re-show. What's up, Jonathan? It is a pleasure to be on the airwaves with you.

Thanks so much for taking my call. I always want to talk Pittsburgh Steeler football. I grew up there. Did you see not the one, but the two punch outs by TJ Watt creating turnovers last week? Oh, I see the highlights. This guy, he needs to be defensive play of the year every day.

Well, not every day, but every year. You know, our next opponent, of course, is Aaron Rodgers. He looked a little sore last night, so I can't wait for him to meet TJ in the Hackershire Stadium. You want to see, I think there are a lot of people who want to see Aaron Rodgers get smashed by TJ Watt.

It's going to be fun. I want to keep Justin in the starting line of my man. I think he's getting better. I love the run factor. He had a nice sneak for like 15 yards Sunday and I just think he's getting better. Is he ever really going to throw the ball, like when it matters? That's the problem. I hear you. But he's got to just get a little more time, I think. Now, how much more time do you want? It's like, what are you going to give him?

Three years? Like they're trying to win today. They got a guy who actually throws the football. Whether or not he can still do it or move around, we'll find out. But it's a different dynamic with Russell Wilson back there. I guess it's just we haven't seen it, so we just don't know as a Steeler fan. Well, we'll see if Russell Wilson, well first, let's see if his calf can hold up. Okay.

This guy got hurt pushing a sled. We'll see. I really enjoy the way you go back and forth with Hickey. You guys have a great program. You're awesome. Oh, thank you.

I hate his guts. Thank you, Jonathan. Alright, be good, brother.

You too. Hickey, why didn't he have a response today? He said nothing.

He took that stride like it was assumed. Yeah, okay, that makes sense. I hate the guy. He's like, okay, whatever.

Your business is not mine. Oh, whatever. Hey, thank you, Jonathan, for calling from San Diego.

Aaron Judge is the pop-up king. Oh, by the way, you know what? I'm going to take a break.

It's the JR Sport reshow here on the Hickey. I just casually said that like, yeah, I just do what I want. I'm just going to take a break.

There are certain rules that I have to adhere to. But at this moment, I will take a break. On the other side, as we get ready to wrap things up, the phone lines are still open if you want to talk to me.

855-212-4227. Before I leave, most certainly, we'll talk to you about a few things that took place this day in sports history. We do have some good news if you're a fan of the 49ers. And I have some bad news for you if you're a fan of the 76ers, especially if you bought some tickets to see this team play.

What the hell were you thinking? We'll do all of that in the last break before we roll out. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief. It's the JR Sport Reshow here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. 855-212-4227.

That's 855-212-4227. How about this? New York Yankees. We just heard the news update.

I gave it to you again. Yankees leading the Guardians 3-2 in the middle of the sixth. Now, before we went to break, I told you I had some good news and I had some bad news. Good news if you're a fan of the 49ers. Might be good news in particular for the one dude. And then bad news if you're a fan of the Sixers.

Hickey, which one do we want to do? Bad news or good news first? Bad news first. We can put the good news on top of it to feel better going forward.

Okay. Here's the bad news. If you're a fan of the Philadelphia 76ers, what are you rooting for? Yesterday, we told you about Joel Embiid. The man pretty much alluded to the fact that he will not be playing back to back in back to back games for the rest of his career, even though he just signed like a five year.

He has five more years on his deal now that he signed an extension. He could barely play as it is. And he's telling everybody, I'm not playing in back to backs. Well, how does Sixers going to sell season tickets for a guy who you never know when he's going to play? Well, he's not going to play in the second game of a back to back.

Well, what type of season ticket package am I buying? Well, anyway, forget all of that. Just a lazy, just lazy guy. It's not my body, but he's taking the money. Play, play 20 minutes a game.

Well, you can't do that. Doesn't want to hurt a scoring average, I'm sure. Just, just sad for the fans. So we all know Joel Embiid's situation, not playing in the rest of the pre-season, establishing the lines that he's not going to play back to back games, how this helps out in continuity on the team.

I have no idea. It's like, Hey, Joel is back and now Joel isn't here. So it's the Tyrese Maxey show. It's just weird. And then Paul George, who just got a contract himself, like 34 years old, this man hurt his knee last night here in Atlanta against the Hawks in a pre-season game. Look, Paul George hasn't necessarily been the, uh, the shining example of health. And it just makes you go, what are they thinking?

This, I thought this was, is it necessary? I guess, but who actually has faith and hope that both Paul George who suffered a knee bruise last night and Joel Embiid are both going to be healthy at the same time when the post-season rolls around, like who's betting on that? Forget buying tickets. Who's betting on them to win a championship.

Lightning will literally have to strike it. Let's take a listen to the new head coach of the Sixers, Nick Nurse. He's telling everybody he's given an update. Listen to this. He was here today. Um, uh, got to look at again, uh, everything checks out.

Okay. Uh, they are going to do some further imaging this afternoon to see, see if there's anything else, but some good spirits was here today. A number of the vets didn't practice today coming in off a late, uh, night, but, uh, okay for now and see what's damaging.

No, I don't have any, anything on anything like that until, until they get that part done. Oh man, come on. He got a knee bruise now. He's going to bruise the other knee.

He's going to, I hope he's healthy. If you're a Sixers fan, pray. That's it.

There's nothing else to do. Pray. If you don't believe in prayer, then just don't pay. Do that.

It don't matter what you believe in. Just, just don't pay. Joel Embiid is basically telling you don't pay because I'm not going to be healthy enough to play or bother to play. I won't lose more weight.

I lost 20 to 30 pounds. What else do you want from me? That's enough.

Pay me $300 million. I'm going to sit at home on the bench. It's the Ben Simmons philosophy. Anyway, now it's time for the good news. Ricky Pearsall, Florida Gator, now a member of the San Francisco 49ers has yet to play a game because on August 31st, this man got shot in an attempted robbery.

A guy trying to take his watch in downtown San Francisco near union square. If you ever been near union square, not a shock, but outside of that, that guy also got shot too. And Ricky Pearsall has been out. Well, now Ricky Pearsall is back to practicing.

It's kind of crazy. And wait till we see him out on the field. Ricky Pearsall, Brandon, I, you got there one day Christian McCaffrey will be back sooner than later. You got Deebo, you got Kittle and these 49ers team is going to be humming.

You would think. And so to have a guy who got shot in August, basically September one, man, it's October 15th and he's back out there. 49ers offensive lineman, Dominic Poonie. He basically said yesterday that this guy, Ricky Pearsall, this is a tough, you know what? Kind of how awesome of a person he is still. I mean, he was real cool when I met him the first time and he's still the same person. I think now the only difference is he's just real grateful for everything. Cause like, I think nobody really knows until like he goes through something like that.

Like, I don't know. You can just tell how grateful he is to be here. He's just taking everything in now just day by day. Yeah.

We just love him as a person. Hickey, they playing basketball in the locker room. That or like a tennis ball about, I don't know. Oh my God. What was that?

Some sort of ball playing is going on. Right. Right. I don't know.

What the hell are they doing anyway? Good for Ricky Pearsall. Man got, he got shot. Brian Robinson got shot, came back.

Listen, getting shot is not fun. I don't know. Don't want to know. Don't want to experience it and good luck to Ricky Pearsall.

Let's see if we see him out on the field this year. Anyway, that's for the future. It's the end of the show. It's time to take a look back at the past. It's time for this day in sports history.

It is the JR sport reshow here with you on the infinity sports network. It is Tuesday, October 15th. The year is 2024. Let's go back in time. If you remember this, raise your hands. If you're driving a car, don't raise your hands. Keep both of your hands on the wheel. Or if you're too cool, if you're cool like me, I drive with one hand. Hickey, is it bad to say? I shouldn't say this. Like sometimes I may drive with my wrist. That's I shouldn't say that, right?

I said it already. That's not the worst thing. By driving with no hands obviously is bad. Nah, I'm a professional.

I'm a professional now. I can swing the car around with no hands. I know where the car is going. You know, it just depends Hickey.

It depends. You're in total control. I am. No accidents since been a long, no accidents. You better knock on wood, man. I don't need that into existence. I don't need no accidents, man. No man. Lord have mercy. Damn.

Hickey rough. I'm looking out for you. You can't say I've been in no accidents and I'm a great driver. Cause you know what that means. Well then I'm gonna have one.

No man. Just making sure you're not jinxing yourself. That's all I'm trying to.

Well, thank you. I don't believe in that stuff. No accidents.

It's safety only. Anyway, nobody remembers this 1933, the Philadelphia Eagles. They play their first NFL game. They lose to the New York giants.

The score 56 to 0. Welcome to the league, I guess. Hey, October 15th, people remember this.

Some. 1989, Wayne Gretzky passed Gordie Howe to become the NHL's all time leading scorer. This was pretty amazing. He was on the Kings at the time. 5-4 overtime win over the Edmonton Oilers. Take a listen to this.

I love it. He finished with 894 goals and we talked about it yesterday because actually yesterday on October 14th and uh, what year was this? In 1979, he scored his first goal and now Alex Ovechkin at some point over the next two years is going to overtake him.

I hope not. But anyway, that took place. Gretzky passing Gordie Howe this day in 1989. Let's move forward.

October 15th, the year is 2005. USC beat Notre Dame 34 to 31. Matt Leinart got a little bit of a of a push from Reggie Bush to help win the game.

Well, it was illegal. And if we think about Reggie Bush at the time, well, a little after that Reggie Bush, he might as well had not existed on the college football scene. Now he got his Heisman back.

Anyway, hey, let's listen to this from last year. This is Matt Leinart on the, yeah, yeah. Matt Leinart on NBC.

He was explaining about the Bush, Bush. Leinart going to try to sneak it ahead. Touchdown SC. Again, that was stopped early. I mean, Matt Leinart did run like a fullback on that play. They stuffed the early part of that quarterback sneak. All the Leinart are standing up and Reggie comes up to me and I go, dude, I think I'm going to do it.

What should I do? He's like, I got you. That was it. It was like a two second thing.

All these big dudes. I had no business trying to sneak that play. I was on the one yard line. All I remember, dude, is falling in the end zone. I didn't even remember.

I didn't feel Reggie push me. I'm thinking I get up. I'm like, might've shed a tear. I don't even know what's going on.

I'm like this. And then after the game, Reggie, I think there's a video of Reggie comes up and he's like, you know, I pushed your ass in. Right. And I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah. I had no clue, dude. So like the Bush push became that after, but I had no clue he pushed me in. What the hell do I say after that?

Nothing. That was him on NBC. Well, that was the NBC play call. And Matt Leinart was on the games with names podcast. Yeah, that's it.
