The NFL season is in full swing, with teams like the Miami Dolphins struggling to find consistency due to injuries, particularly to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who has been plagued by concussions. Meanwhile, Bill Belichick is making waves with his potential interest in coaching the Philadelphia Eagles, and the New York Mets are making a surprising run in the MLB postseason.

You got one? Ask it to play the Infinity Sports Network. We got a lot to do. We've already done a lot. Thank you so much to Brett Boone, former Major League Baseball All-Star, MLB insider for Odyssey, got the Brett Boone Podcast. He came through to talk to us about the Major League Baseball postseason and also his relationship, his family's relationship with the late Pete Rose. If you missed that conversation, hit rewind on the free Odyssey app. We talked about Devante Adams.

Looks like this man will be traded away at some point from the Las Vegas Raiders. We talked about Von Miller suspended four games, violating the NFL's personal conduct policy rules. It looks like there was some issues last year with domestic violence.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. But we have more to do as the show goes on. Got some baseball action right now. We had a final earlier today, a couple of finals.

I told you before the break, we got Bill Belichick trying to send a coach out on his final ride. I'm like, damn, damn. That hard knock life, right? I'll explain. I'll get to that in a minute.

It's just a lot to get into. You want to communicate? You want to be a part of the show?

It's simple. 855-212-4227. That's 855-212-4227. You can find me online at JR Sport Brief.

I encourage you as well. If you missed the conversation that we just had with Brett Boone, you can listen to that on the free Odyssey app. All you have to do is go ahead and hit rewind.

Currently in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the New York Mets lead the Brewers 8-4. It's the bottom of the eighth. Hickey, I looked up. I don't know what I saw.

Take a dive. I don't know if it was a hot dog, a brat. I don't know what it was. Do you know what that was?

A wiener? No, I missed it. Someone threw something, what, on the field? No, I said one of those things took a dive. Oh, the race you're talking about. Yeah, what do you thought I said? Well, no, when you say take a dive, I mean, I guess I forgot about the hot dog race. So I'm thinking like someone threw something and maybe someone dove out of the way. No, one of the one of them sausages.

Yeah, one of the things running around ended up eating dirt. Wow, that's going to be tough with that thing on your head. Why? It sounds easy. Like, oh yeah, how can you fall?

Feels like it's kind of easy. Those things are what, like another seven feet? Nah, that's too much.

Another three feet above your head, right? Is that how that works? Yeah, I think so.

That sounds about right. Why didn't they invite Grimace to the race? Oh. Well, why doesn't Mr. Met, he never runs. Have you ever seen Mr. Met run? He doesn't run anywhere.

Uh, no, he does not run. I mean, that baseball on his head probably would lead him to fall right down. He got some big old feet too. Are the feet too big?

Possibly, yeah. Doesn't he have those Mickey Mouse giant shoes, right? Well, when you have a big ass head, you need big ass feet to balance you out, right? But his hands are normal size. Well, you're right.

There is definitely some disproportionality going on there, Mr. Met. Whoever created him did not make everything equal. Yeah, he did. He did. He did not make everything equal. Yeah, I could imagine if he had some giant slap hands.

I'm trying to remember, it was like a cartoon or a game. Like somebody had giant inflatable hands, and he'd just slap you. But wherever Mr. Met is, I wish him nothing but the best. He has been MIA, I feel like for months, since Grimace burst onto the scene. I haven't seen Mr. Met in forever, but have you seen him? Have you seen him recently at all? I've not gotten to a game in like probably a month or so.

So no, I have not. And you know what? I bet you if the Mets make it out of this series and they get a home game in the playoffs, keep him wherever he is. I don't know if he's at home. I don't know if he's in a storage closet. Wherever he is, keep him there.

Something's working. He's like locked away in the bowels of Citi Field. I'm mad you're banishing Mr. Met. Like he did something to somebody. Probably starving right now.

Looking for anything to eat, please. Some popcorn, anybody. I remember about a decade ago, Mr. Met ran off the field and gave somebody the middle finger.

So that's right. I think you better, don't cross Mr. Met. Wherever he is, you know, I don't want to see him when he gets let out of the cage or whatever.

I don't know. Anyway, good on the New York Mets. Let's see if they can hold on against the Brewers. I know they don't want none of that action that the Braves gave them yesterday.

A little bit of a heart attack there. The Tigers beat the Astros three to one. Scubel went six innings, struck out six. Also the Royals, they blank the O's. They beat the Orioles one to nothing. And so we have one more game for the night. That game will kick off in about 20 minutes, 25 minutes. We'll have the Braves going to San Diego, already in San Diego, to take on the Padres. Let's see if the Braves can have the same type of luck that the Mets have had winning, despite having played two games yesterday in a do or die situation.

Good on all of them. We're going to continue to talk some more baseball and get into some NFL action. Jared Dubin from NFL, or excuse me, CBSSports.com, he writes all things covering the NFL. He's going to join us next hour. And we went through the Devante Adams situation, the fact that he wants to be traded, apparently, or that his time is up in Vegas, and they're going to look to part ways. And then we talked about the suspension of Von Miller for this domestic violence, domestic incident that took place last year. He says nothing happened.

His girlfriend says nothing happened. The police and their reporting and evidence say otherwise Von Miller is going to be out the next four games for the Buffalo Bills. I did mention to you right before we went to break, that Bill Belichick is real busy.

He's on TV, he's doing multiple shows. And but the thought and the idea of Bill Belichick coaching has pretty much hung in the air for months, that he was not just going to go quietly, that he was not going to retire, that he was not going to go away. And Bill Belichick, as head coach Bill Belichick, he sounds like he's got chopped in the throat. Bill Belichick would sound like someone stole his dog. Bill Belichick would talk to the media like like they were the devil, like having a conversation with the media was going to send him right to hell.

He didn't do it. But now with all of these media jobs, we've seen the human Bill Belichick. We've seen how articulate he is. We've seen how humorous he can be. He's a normal ass guy with a young ass girlfriend.

Good for him. But the fact of the matter is Bill Belichick, now that we've gotten a little bit deeper into the season, Bill Belichick has taken the gloves off. And he's not just beaten up on some loser team or at least being honest about a loser team. Bill Belichick is going after a team. That was just in the Super Bowl two seasons ago. Bill Belichick is going after a team that last year, well, they started 10-1. They lost five of their last six games. In this season, they're continuing the trend. They have a record of 2-2. They can't hold on to the football.

They're dealing with injuries. I'm talking about the Philadelphia Eagles. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to look at the Eagles' roster and all of their talent despite their injuries. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to look at where they were at the Super Bowl, in the Super Bowl two seasons ago, to go, man, this is a damn good team. And I think a lot of people look at it that way. When you watch Jalen Hurts' performance, not last year while he was hurt, but on the way to the Super Bowl and the way that he was rewarded with $52 million a season, he's getting paid like one of the best QBs in the league.

The results aren't there. The turnovers are. But Bill Belichick is looking at the whole team.

And so he was on Pat McAfee's show. And I don't know if we've ever heard Bill Belichick talk for more than a minute, but prepare yourself because it sounds like he wouldn't mind a job with the Eagles. Listen to this. First of all, I think the bye week probably is a good time for these guys. Billy, you know, maybe we'll have a chance to get these receivers back and kind of in Lane Johnson and get some of their key players back on offense.

But, you know, it's a challenge. Look, they've lost 10 of the last 13 games. So when you sit there and say, well, they're one of the best teams in the league, I don't know, being 3 and 10, that's kind of a stretch if you look at what's happened recently. But they do have a lot of good players and they have a good team. I'm not saying they're not a good team. I'm just saying they haven't done very well lately. So maybe this bye week is a good time for them to reset. Certainly, they've got to play better defense on what they've been playing. They just gave up way too many points too quickly. They're still turning the ball over too much. And Barkley is an explosive guy.

But, you know, he can only do so much. We saw that when he was with the Giants. And once you put Smith and Brown out there, along with Goddard and Barkley, you have one offense, you start taking a couple of those guys out of there and it just becomes a little bit watered down. So I think a bye week comes at a good time for them. Hopefully, for them, they can get healthy, reset a little bit, get back to playing good Philadelphia Eagle football. And that means getting off to a good start and playing for my head. Just trying to play catch up and throw the ball over the lot, you know, 45 times all is just not a good formula for any team. But I don't think that's really the way the Eagles want to play or should play. Well, Dan, I mean, that wasn't too bad. But it sounds like a job interview.

Damn. Hickey, how did you know Nick Sirianni knows about that? Well, how did absolutely what if he was sitting down, what did he do when he heard that? Let's say he was on his phone scrolling through Instagram like Antonio Pierce and he came across that video. Nick Sirianni sat there and watched it. What did he do at that moment?

Just curse. Probably created a burner count and said, Nick Sirianni is not to blame. It's the player's fault for this, not the coach. Oh, man. He mad, man. Nick Sirianni is like, man, this guy, this guy is going to take my job.

Like if you're Nick Sirianni, you're saying yourself, I got it. I got to do my job before Bill Belichick takes it from me. And let's be real, if you look at at the teams that will probably be looking for a coach at the end of the year. Dallas Cowboys are a candidate.

Philadelphia Eagles are a candidate. I mean, Doug Peterson is already being asked about his job security. He's like, what? Why are you asking me about my job security? The team sucks. That's why.

That's why. If you're if you're if you're Bill Belichick, you got your pick of the litter. You think about the talent, you think about what the team did. If Nick Sirianni could take them to the postseason and he might be the reason they fell out. Are the Eagles not the most attractive option?

Out of all the teams, come on, the Jacksonville Jaguars? No, thank you. No, thanks. The Dallas Cowboys?

No, thanks. The Eagles? Yeah, come on now. This is like, I don't want to say Bill Belichick is undercutting Sirianni. And typically we know it's it's almost a rule. Coaches don't criticize other coaches and Bill Belichick technically isn't a member of the NFL coaching fraternity right now, but nobody looks at him as any different. Like, I haven't heard anything yet. Not that he just took a hatchet to Nick Sirianni and just brutalized him. But I haven't heard Bill Belichick be as critical of anybody in the way that he was just critical of the Eagles. And you want to know something? If you listen carefully, he didn't come after Nick Sirianni.

It was seen to be alluded to. You think about the talent and how the team plays. Well, what's the direction is coming from Nick Sirianni and it's coming from Kellen Moore. I don't think Bill Belichick gives a damn about Kellen Moore, because if Bill Belichick is the boss, then we know Kellen Moore is probably getting the boot. Bill Belichick isn't even coaching in the NFL right now. And he's giving coaches headaches. If there's one team that doesn't have to worry about Bill Belichick, if there's one coach who doesn't even have to think about this, it's the phantom coach of the New York Jets.

It's Rob Salah. Because if there's one team that Bill Belichick will not go to, it's the New York Jets. This man resigned as the H.C. of the N.Y.J.

on a napkin, a piece of paper, and said, goodbye. Hickey, wouldn't that be one of the, I would, I'd feel like that's professional wrestling at that point. Could you imagine if Bill Belichick says, you know what? I'll do it. I'm going to team up. It will, it will never happen.

He says, I'm going to team up with Aaron Rodgers to coach the Jets. Will never happen, right? Never.

That I would agree. It would never happen. But you talk about plot twists, like you said, like WWE-esque, like to the NFL level. My God. Imagine being a Patriots fan. Your hated rival. Now your beloved coach is going to the other team and he like, let's just keep on, keep this fantasy going.

They win a Super Bowl. Like, can you remind me of the Jets fan? This guy's tormented you for 20 years. Now he comes to your rescue and brings you happiness for the first time in almost, in over 50 years. This is like the Rock becoming a bad guy or a good guy.

I don't know. This is like John Cena, disappointing children, like Stone Cold Steve Austin, drinking milk instead of beer. I mean, I don't think it will ever happen, but it would be hilarious. It'd be like an evil tag team, Bill Belichick and Aaron Rogers. They'd have to come up with a name.

They'd be like, like Star Wars characters. Like they have to walk out onto the field in black hoods or green hoods and be very cultish. That's a dream world.

It's a fantasy. But if there is a team and if I'm Bill Belichick, to be honest, of course, there's a natural inclination, a natural thought process to believe that he would return to New York where he won those two championships as defensive coordinator with Bill Parcells. But would Bill Belichick want to go back to the Giants and quote unquote waste time? Like, unless he really, really believes in a quarterback, why the hell would he go back to the Giants if I'm Bill Belichick?

And I'm looking at the clock and I'm like, all right, 72, 73, 74, 70. Why am I going to waste my years? Whatever might be left of coaching. You ain't going coach until he's 80. What am I wasting my years for developing a QB? Give me one.

Give me one. Jalen Hurts is a QB. You don't think Bill Belichick could tell him to stop with the turnovers? Bill Belichick, I don't want it. Well, as long as Bill Belichick isn't picking the players, I think any place he goes will be fine. But if I'm Nick Sirianni, I'm shaking in my boots because Bill Belichick is using the media to basically send me warning shots. And he's just being honest.

He's telling the truth. You don't think in the back of Bill Belichick's mind, he's going, oh, he already knows. Is this a team that I can coach? Can I can I coach them out of this?

Well, what what can I do? You don't think Bill Belichick is doing that? Those are the things that he's not going to share because it's his business. But be careful.

Watch carefully what he says and how he says it. Bill Belichick is letting all these other coaches, the losers know you're on notice, and that includes you, Nick Sirianni. It's the J.R. Sportbree show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. 855-212-4227.

That's 855-212-4227. Bill Belichick is watching. Bill Belichick is talking. He's blogging.

He's sitting around doing TV and he's looking for his next spot. Choose the Eagles. Matter of fact, the Eagles, they should choose you if you in the front office can get along.

We're going to take a break. When we come back, we're going to talk about another team in the AFC East. No, not the Jets. No, not the Bills. The other one, the Dolphins, the team that lost last night because they might get some hope back with this Tua Tonga Veloa fellow. We'll talk about that on the other side. And speaking of hope, well, damn it, Gonzaga, they have found some hope. And it is not in the West Coast Conference.

I'll explain on the other side. It's the J.R. Sportbree show, the Infinity Sports Network. You're listening to the J.R. Sportbree. And Carmelo Anthony takes me as the type of guy who would be a fan of the New York Mets. Well, if you are a fan of the New York Mets, they just won another baseball game. They're one game away from advancing outside or past the wildcard round into the division round. They just beat the Brewers eight to four. The Mets over the Brewers, the brew crew one game away from elimination. The New York Mets had to beat the Braves yesterday. They lost the second game. They had to get on a plane, go to Milwaukee, and they won eight to four. We have one more game left on the night. The Braves and the Padres are set to get underway in about five minutes from now. The Tigers beat the Stroh's three to one. The Royals beat the Orioles one to nothing.

Wow. Hickey, the Mets on a run, man. They moving.

They moving. How about that? Getting into Milwaukee late last night after playing a doubleheader yesterday, down early in the game to nothing the first inning immediately does not matter. This team is different. Let's go. Let's go, JR. Come on.

All right. Well, we'll see. Give it a get.

Let's see what happens. Long way to go. That's just a great win on a Tuesday.

That's all that is. And good for Severino. Went and ate up some innings, which were definitely needed. Pitch six gave up four.

Not the worst. I give him credit for that. So he did what they needed him to do to eat up some innings. So we'll see what continues to happen. It's kind of crazy. The New York Mets, which a joke early in the season, they were joke. People are killing them. And here they are in the postseason with a chance to advance to the divisional round.

We'll see. 8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27. That's 8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27. I also want to tell you about somewhere to a Tonga below what might be going. Then also I'll tell you about Gonzaga. Gonzaga.

They are definitely going somewhere in a couple of years. 8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27. Neil is here. Neil is calling from Alabama. You are on the J.R.

Sport Brief Show Coast to Coast. What's up, Neil? Neil, you are live on the radio.

Until he's not live on the radio. Where the hell were you? I was getting ready to hang up on you. You said Neil.

Dale. Oh, so what did you do? You weren't going to say anything? You heard me. I apologize, but I apologize. OK, go ahead. Dale.

Dale, I called you here earlier talking to your guy, but because I remember both of y'all on the air. But my Miami Dolphins. They suck. We know we was getting the quarterback.

Huh? So my thing is, why we didn't upgrade on the line? All these players, I mean, all these teams get these new quarterbacks and throw them in the line of fire like I was talking about earlier, but they don't upgrade the line. Tighten in, running back.

Help these guys out. Are you talking specifically about the Miami Dolphins? Miami, Jacksonville.

No, no. Well, let's do one team. You asking about the Dolphins, correct? The Dolphins. Well, they brought on Armstead.

I believe they got him from the Saints. You want to talk about all these offensive weapons that they have. I mean, they certainly have. But you got to have time to throw it to them, right? Listen, Tuatanga Veloa is one of the most accurate quarterbacks in the entire NFL.

That's true. So the issue with Tuah happens to be his size and it happens to be his durability. I'm not going to complain about who's protecting him and how he stand upright. There were concerns about this before he got to the NFL.

When he was at Alabama. Yeah. So I'm not going to talk about, oh, you don't have nobody protecting him and this and that. How about the guy's just fragile? Maybe he doesn't know how to take a fall.

Maybe. And I think at this point you've got to be concerned about, you know, these hits to his head. Well, why don't they get a baseball player, the best slider it is in baseball and get him out there and teach him how to slide.

Hickey, what's the brother from the Reds? He just stole 60. Elie De La Cruz. We should get Elie De La Cruz in here to teach him how to slide. Is that going to work? Okay. Well, I think the problem is he ain't running anywhere.

He's getting cracked. That's the, that's the problem there. I'm sorry. Do you know how to slide? Can you slide? Yes. And I'm 63. Oh, well damn it.

You, uh, you might be in better shape than two. I'll tell you that much. Okay. I ain't going to go there. All right.

Well, if you could teach him how to slide, maybe you'll have a job right now or Dale. Excuse me. Hey Dale, thank you for calling man. Okay. All right. Thank you. Thank you so much.

Okay. Hickey, we found the answer to solving to his head problems. All he has to do is slide. And, and Dale will teach him free of charge. It sounds like he will either that or how much would Elie De La Cruz charge?

Ooh. I mean, I hope a good amount. I mean, he is, like you said, one of the most prolific base dealers in the game right now.

The guys steal second, third and home. I mean, that's a pretty penny. You got to pay him to show him your expertise. What did he have? He, he literally had north of 60 steals this year. That guy's amazing. What did he do? Although the only concern is he slid head first a lot.

I don't know if that's what you want to do. Elie De La Cruz was doing the other Pete Rose Superman. Yeah. I'm not sure if that's the technique we want to be teaching to it here as he's trying to get away from defenders.

I mean, he sort of, I mean, he kind of gets put more down in the last incident. He's 6'5. Crazy. I mean, if you got the arms, like I don't know, he's probably nothing but arms and like 67 stolen bases. Wow. I love it.

Good to have these guys stealing bases. Anyway, I don't think anything is saving Tua Tonga Veloa. Let's remember this. Tua Tonga Veloa spent all of, well, not all, but he spent last off season taking, I don't know, MMA, Muay Thai. He took some Brazilian jujitsu. He took training to understand how to fall.

I'm not joking. If he needs to learn how to fall, it's not a joke. Why doesn't he go to WWE? Like they got, they do training. They train the wrestlers. That whole idea is to fall and not hurt yourself. These guys hurt themselves, but the idea is to fall and not, like Brazilian jujitsu.

Yeah. You learn body control. I'm not saying Tua should go to WWE, but they teach you to tuck your head when you, when you fall down.

Like that's, that's the point. I think it's kind of crazy. Marco Balletti, isn't that a good idea? He should go to WWE, like training?

Might be. I don't know if he's going to see a lot of back body drops, but yeah, I mean, any way to learn how to fall, it's crazy. A lot of guys athletes don't know how to do it.

I would say the best, the first thing that I would think of is go to a soccer goalkeeper. They know how to dive and not hurt themselves and know how to fall properly so they don't break their elbow. They don't break their, they don't break anything.

They, they fall and they know how to roll and tuck. Yeah. But I think there's a difference between diving and getting slammed. I get it. But I mean, nobody's really body slamming you on the, on the field either.

I think it's closer. It's closer to wrestling than it is to soccer. Well, the sport, obviously I meant just the idea of, cause you're not trying to at that point, get any contact. You're just trying to go down to the ground. You know, he's got to learn to be able to just give up on the play and slide.

And no, tuck his head. Yeah, I know. But if you slide, the rules are there to prevent you from getting hit. I mean, if you're talking about in the pocket, no one's going to be able to stop you from getting blindsided. That's, there's nothing to do. Yeah.

He's in the back. Well, that's why when you get the contact, you got to learn how to tuck your head. Yeah. I would think that you got to learn to feel the pressure and know when to give up on the play. I mean, how many times did we watch Peyton Manning just literally just drop almost like a possum play dead. He knew he was going to get popped.

So he just dropped. There's nothing you can do. That didn't stop that scar at the back of his neck.

Cut them open. Some of this is pride, you know, almost like Marcellus wireless, man, pride's messing with you. Don't let pride mess with you.

Just drop. Peyton Manning's neck was too long. Well, that could be part of his forehead. But we're going to let that go. No, no, no, no, no. I'm, I'm, I'm not joking.

I'm serious. I think his neck, he had too much neck. He got hit in his whiplash. That's what happened. Done. It could be, could be, could be.

Yes. I'm not a doctor, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to go. Look, if you have no neck, you have no neck issue. But if you have a long neck and you're constantly just getting, you know, it's like Gumby didn't Gumby have a lot. Gumby was nothing but neck. He didn't even have a head, right? Gumby had neck issues. No, I'm saying like, did Gumby have a neck? He didn't even have shoulders. He's just right.

You get what I'm saying? I gotta be fair. All I remember is I'm Gumby, damn it. I don't even look like Gumby was green and he didn't have, but I'm picturing Eddie Murphy as Gumby. I don't see the real Gumby. He had a real gum. The real Gumby was just, he had no shoulders.

He just had arms and legs. And my point is it's inevitable. You going to get hit. Like we know that there's certain guys who are more susceptible to particular injuries just based on their body type. And two is small and he's left-handed. He ain't running out the pocket. He's not Lamar Jackson. He's just going to get rid of the ball quick. And then when he gets popped, he gets popped. And so he took, he took training on how to fall last year and he got cracked again this year. And we know if he keeps on playing, he's going to get cracked again and again and again.

But this year's injury was on a run that he tried to get a little bit more than he should have. Again, it was pride. Yeah, he dumped his head into DeMar. Yeah, he did.

It was pride. That play was over. I mean, forget the game was over, but that play was over. You got to know when the play is over because one play could end your career. And I'm not trying to be funny about that.

They really could. So you got to know that you can't get, well, I'm going to get that extra yard. You can't get that extra yard anymore. So if that means punting, it means punting.

If that means you're turning it over on downs on a fourth and inches, you turn it over on downs. Like you've got to know where that line is. And for him, it's got to be consistent on every play.

You can't, some guys, oh, you know, I'm going to risk it on the, he can't risk it anymore ever. And he's got to know that. You think, you think him and Anthony Richardson have like a group chat, a support group?

They should. Now Richardson still can keep going for a little bit longer, but eventually he's going to have that, you know, come to Jesus moment and realize that I can't do this. Yeah. And I get it. I was joking, but I mean, the pride factor, it does mess with you, the competitive nature. I get it, but you're not going to be able to compete if you can't play. If you're hurt. Yeah. And if you continue to do this, one play is going to make you not play. And if that's what you want, I mean, you're going to go out on the sword then so be it.

But I feel like that's unnecessary and silly. To a he's, he's, he's pushing it, man. He's, he's pushing it. You know what? Uh, we're, we're going to take a break. 8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27. That's 8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27. You're listening to the JR sport brief. I'm the wrong guy to offer a beer. Don't do that.

8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27 and it's 8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27. I've been talking about to a Tonga Veloa. You know, I'm going to give you an update. Well, we'll hear the update from Adam Schefter in a second. But before I do that, there was another football game last night lions went out there and did some damage. And now it's time for me to tell you about the defensive player of the week sponsored by the Navy federal credit union who probably serves the armed forces, DOD veterans and their families. Their members are the mission. You can learn more at navy federal.org lions linebacker Jack Campbell.

This man was all over the damn place. Last night, seven tackles forced to fumble, helped the lions beat the Seahawks, beat them up 42 to 29. Campbell also recorded one tackle for loss as Detroit moved to three and one on the season. We expect them to go out there and potentially compete for another championship. Not something that, uh, you know, lions fans are used to good on them. Also got the tigers winning their first playoff game today as well. First time since 2013.

Let's take a listen to Adam Schefter. This is yesterday on ESPN. He gave an update on Tua and what we might see him back to the matter is he has been symptom free and he has been meeting with neurologists and I don't believe that anybody's told him anything right now to dissuade him from want to playing. And I think there's a feeling here that he is bound to come back and for all the talk there was about to a tongue of Aloha and how we should stop playing and how we should retire. The fact of the matter is there's a real possibility that when his four games are up on injured reserve, that he's going to be back in the Miami dolphins lineup. And a lot of people will find this hard to believe, hard to imagine, but there is that real possibility that he's going to be back that soon.

And at the very least, he certainly sounds like he is intent upon continuing his NFL career sooner rather than later. Well, to a tongue of Aloha is eligible to come back week eight as Miami hosts the Arizona Cardinals. He's only played in two games this year. Remember that last game that he played in against the Buffalo Bills is when he tried to move forward for some yardage into Damar Hamlin and ended up with a concussion.

And that was September 12th. He won't be eligible to come back until week eight against the Arizona Cardinals. Take your time, man.

Take your time. I got to be honest. By the time we get to week eight, dolphins are going to be further in the toilet. 855-212-4227 may not even be necessary to throw him back out there. Rob is calling from Massachusetts. Excuse me. You're on the JR Sport.

We show us Rob JR. Brother, how are you? Very well. What's on your mind? Almost 50 years old.

My first time ever calling a radio station. So that says a lot about you, brother. Well, thank you so much. I appreciate that.

It's more than a pleasure. So I was watching that game last night. Just so disgusted.

Texting my 50 year old son, you know, back and forth the whole thing. And it just dawned on me, like, how so many people around here, you know, anyway, say, oh, two of the assistant quarterback, you know, he's not the most talented guy. It's just part of the system.

I think he might have been on that, that level. I don't know. You can tell me.

I really can't remember, but I'm sitting there thinking, if it's that easy, it's just a system. Why can't one person throw a seven, eight, nine yard completion in this game? You got all these guys coming in. What?

No one can throw one. Yeah. It was pretty thinking. This guy's so crucial.

Sorry. So crucial to the team. I know they probably went destiny, go deep in the playoffs. I get it.

I'm a realist. You know, I know they might fold, but you know, it's just so frustrating how important you know that that game, you know, you're a hundred percent correct. That game I'm standing here in the studio watching that game. That was an ugly game to watch. I mean, Tyler Huntley could only move the ball 96 yards in the air. You have one of the most dynamic wide receivers in the game in Tyree kill. He could only come up with 23 yards. Jalen Wilder has 38 and I don't know, maybe they'll have better luck against new England.

Uh, but no two a tongue of low is good. He knows how to get the ball and snap the ball and get it accurately to the fast guys. But if you can't read the defense and get the ball out fast enough, that that's, that's called the skill.

And that's a skill that's who has outside of getting hurt every now and then. I do believe he was targeted by McDaniel when McDaniel went there, when they would just call him on the phone and probably saw that clip in the plane. I swear to God, I think he felt part of McDaniel's attraction for the team.

I really do. I think he saw it. You know, he doesn't lead receivers. He anticipates the pro. He gets the ball ahead of him.

That's why it's such a chunk plays. And I just want to see why one guy who makes the NFL roster can't go in there and complete a pass. Well, look, we can look up and down NFL rosters and you can just look at the starters. How many of these guys actually good?

Few and far in between. Having a good quarterback is tough. It's crazy that we got, we got, we got all these teams and half of them, maybe, maybe two thirds of teams are just maybe not even all that happy. They'd be happy to get a new quarterback if they could. So, uh, all those guys flying around on offense, someone's completing the past, but you don't have to be a solid, great backup. You got all those guys running around.

You can't complete a 10 yard passes. It's going to be too. It's going to be, it's going to be tough for the dolphins the rest of the way. Rob, thank you for calling from Massachusetts. Appreciate it. Thank you.

Thank you so much. You'd be safe out there. A matter of fact, let's take a listen right now. Mike McDaniel spoke after the loss yesterday.

And despite the Miami dolphins now being one in three, uh, he says we ain't lying down for nobody. I don't foresee this locker room, um, quitting. I don't see it as their nature. Um, however, you have to give guys reasons to go, go above and beyond.

Um, I think you have to hold, um, literally every person in the building accountable to, um, what we see their jobs as. Okay. So I got a better question for you, Mike McDaniel, how the hell are you going to fix this offense? Are you open or switching things up? I don't know what you could do, but what are you doing to me? Uh, in a situation like this, I hadn't really been in one where we haven't had production, um, consecutively like this.

So, uh, you, you really have to open your mind to, uh, really all things. We have no answers. That's what the answer is.

8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27. Dom is calling from Ohio. You're on the JR sport reshow coast to coast. What's up, Dom? Hey, what's up? How are you guys doing tonight?

Great. So, so we know that people are more susceptible to head injuries than others. And obviously I'm not a doctor, but I think Tua is one of those players in the NFL who's more susceptible to head injuries than any other player in the NFL right now. And I think that's something the dolphins got to look at and say, Hey, is this guy long-term? I know they just paid him, but if he keeps getting injuries, how effective is he going to be for him? If he's not on the field and they start the seasons like, well, I think he is a big thing.

And thank you, Don, for calling from Ohio. I think you look at Tua Tonga Veloa and you say, is he susceptible to injuries period? Because he's typically the smallest guy on the field. I know his wide receivers are also small, but he's small for a quarterback. That's the thing. And forget susceptible to head injuries.

He's had several of them. And the more you get popped around, you don't have to be a doctor to know. That's not good. A concussion is your brain hitting your skull. That's not fun. And it's not supposed to be something that's a normal occurrence.

8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27. And by the way, they're stuck with him and his money. Matt is calling from Buffalo. Go ahead, Matt.

Hey JR, how's it going? I was just thinking that, you know, the Bills had a player Mark Telso in the mid nineties that had that, you know, the helmet protector. And they seem to have reintroduced that. And I think Tua really needs to start assessing if he should be wearing one of those every time he plays, because anything to mitigate the concussions would be a benefit to him at this point in his career.

So the guardian cap, that is what they currently, they allow players to use them. I think we only have one guy in the league who uses it outside of practice. I haven't seen a quarterback use that guardian cap. Do you think it would not be prohibitive to a QB? He looked like Mr. Matt. Hey, if it prevents injury, why not? I hear you. I just don't know if he's going to be able to turn his head and throw the ball. I don't know.

Hey, thank you, Matt. It doesn't look like it impedes one guy wearing it for Tennessee yesterday, the tight end. Yeah, well, the tight end doesn't throw a football. No, he's got to turn his head to catch it sometimes. But the quarterback has to continuously turn his head and see behind him the side of him. I'm just saying I ain't wearing a guardian cap. I'm just saying the QB for one guy that needs to see anything is him, him first.

I'd give it a whirl if I were Tua. Oh, he might. He might have to. Hey, thank you, Matt. Yes, sir.

No doubt about it. That's that great gazoo helmet. Green guy who ran around on the Jetsons had that big old giant helmet.

Look, God bless Tua. He might have to wear a guardian cap if he wants to play. He might have to. Might save his career. Good for him.

And I think that'd be cool because then it would let people know that, hey, this is this is what some people have to do and normalize it. Some people are too cool for school. It's the J.R. Sportbreeze show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network.

I'm not too damn cool for anything. We're going to take a break. I'm going to get some more of your calls. We're also going to talk about Christian McCaffrey because we have an update on him. It's the J.R. Sportbreeze show, the Infinity Sports Network. I'm not going anywhere.
