It is! The JR Sportbrief Show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. Much love and many thanks to everybody tuned in and locked in all over North America.
I'm talking coast to coast. It doesn't matter where you live, doesn't matter where you're from. Thank you for being here. This is when the show gets started every single weekday at 6pm Eastern, 3 Pacific. I'm coming to you live from Atlanta, Georgia. For us on the boards in New York City. What a busy Tuesday it is.
What a busy first day of October it is. We got a superstar wide receiver in Devante Adams who apparently wants out of Las Vegas. We have a future Hall of Fame pass rusher in and Von Miller. He is going to be out the next four games violating the NFL's personal conduct policy. We had a domestic issue last year that he denied and his partner denied.
I guess the police, they didn't feel the same way. We'll get into that. Major League Baseball, the playoffs have finally started. We got the New York Mets in action right now losing to the Brewers 2-0. We got Kansas City right now in front of Baltimore 1-0. We have a game that already ended.
How about this? The Detroit Tigers winning their first postseason game since 2013. The Tigers beat the Astros. They beat them 3-1. They got themselves a victory. How about that?
And so much more to get into. We have a former Major League Baseball All-Star who's going to join us. He's a famous Boone.
No, not the one from the Yankees right now. He's kind of busy. We're going to talk to his brother. Brett Boone is going to join us. And not only is the Boone family family, excuse me, there's too many B's and F's. Not only is the Boone family famous, Bob, their dad, played alongside Pete Rose. And so I think it's an appropriate time to have another chat with Brett Boone. He's going to come through and talk to us about some of his recollections and memory of Pete Rose as he was a child in the clubhouse.
His dad played right alongside him. We'll also obviously get Brett's opinions and thoughts on the current Major League Baseball postseason now that it's underway. We got an angry owner whose team isn't in the postseason. Diamondbacks owner is having a fit. Not happy with how things went down yesterday between the New York Mets and the Braves.
And the fact that his team, the Diamondbacks, didn't make it in. Wah wah wah. Give him a give him a give him a binky. Give him a pacifier. Give him a bottle. Give him a diaper.
Tell him to sit his ass down. Jared Dubin from CBS Sports, NFL writer. He's going to come through and join us to kind of wrap up everything that has already taken place now in week four of the NFL season. Christian McCaffrey still not healthy.
They're like this guy's legs. They're both cooked now to a tongue of lower might be back when he's eligible in week eight. Gonzaga Gonzaga said goodbye to the WCC. They said hello to the Pac-12. And could we be saying goodbye to Justin Verlander?
Is Bill Belichick trying to say goodbye to Nick Sirianni and take his job? There's just a lot to discuss here over the next four hours. You can always tune in on your local Infinity Sports Network affiliate. You can always listen on the free Odyssey app.
You can tune in on Sirius XM Channel 158 if you got serious. And then if you have a smart speaker, then you you're way ahead of things, right? Ask the speaker to play the Infinity Sports Network. You don't have to do anything. You want to participate in the show.
You can do that, too. We got a phone number. It's connected to many lines. It works. It's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven.
That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. You can also find me online. I'm on the Internet. I'm everywhere. I'm at J.R. Sport Briefs.
Super producer and host Ryan Hickey. How are you? Well, now that the message got a two run double and tied the game, I'm feeling great. J.R. to have a Tuesday here. Two seconds ago, you weren't happy, right?
In the dumps. Okay. All right. So is this going to be a mood over the next? I don't know.
Two hours. No, no. I mean, no. I know.
I just kind of made it seem like that. I have confidence in this team. Okay. I mean, I'm not going to ride the wave of emotion with every pitch, but I'm just going to keep a steady, cool hand here for the next three hours. Okay. All right. It's not too late for you to go to Milwaukee and I don't know, just take somebody out at the legs.
But that's dirty, right? We don't want that. You're going to fight Bart. Who? Bart Winkler.
No. Why would I want you to fight him? He's there in Milwaukee. You said go to Milwaukee, take somebody out. I was referring to one of the Brewers. Oh, oh, oh. Not, not a random odd that you thought of a random person and thought about taking him out.
I'm thinking about one of the players, but that's dirty. So you want me to go on to break into the stadium, run on the field and then try to injure a player? Geez. You're asking to spend my life in jail now.
Your life? No, no, no, no. I'd be like, I don't know that guy. I don't know. I'll wear a shirt that says I work with JR. No, I don't know. I don't know. JR told me to do it.
What, as you get tackled? Yeah. Bad, bad, bad, bad idea. Well, I'm just joking.
He's joking too. Don't, don't get hickey in trouble. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Nobody, nobody get hickey. And I'm just being a jerk on the radio. That's what I'm here for. Anyway, in all seriousness, it's good to be back here with you on a Tuesday.
It's Tuesday, October 1st. Of course, at the end of the show, we're going to go through quite a few things that took place this day in sports history. But one thing that took place today, and I couldn't do nothing but shake my damn head and go, LOL and same old, same old. It's just the Raiders. It doesn't matter if the Raiders are good. It doesn't matter if the Raiders are bad. They're always going to be a clown show.
And sometimes, unfortunately, there's this tragedy and the unfortunate car accidents and their criminal activity. Some of the worst things always happen to the Raiders. Let's just throw the relocations out of the window. What's the latest drama that's pretty much been going on from the off season up until now? We were basically teased that Devante Adams, who doesn't have any guaranteed money passed this season, one of the best wide receivers in the game.
Yes, he's 31 years old. Still one of the best wide outs that this man it was like a teased relationship that he was going to be traded to the New York Jets. We know the New York Jets are trying to go to a Super Bowl with that Aaron Rodgers guy, who is the head coach and that other guy, Rob Salah, who carries his bags. And Devante Adams is like, listen, man, I'm here and Aaron Rodgers is there. Let's just let's stop here with the Raiders. We also saw video and footage from a Netflix or Netflix show from last year that Devante Adams was basically calling some of the shots when the Raiders were going to hell. He's like, Aiden O'Connell, I want him. Jimmy Garoppolo, tell that man to sit his ass down.
And that's what we got. And so having to be on the receiving end of passes from Aiden O'Connell and the football corpse of Jimmy Garoppolo, Devante Adams was still able to haul in more than eleven hundred yards and eight touchdowns last season. This guy can still go this Raiders team.
Well, let's be clear. They ain't going anywhere. Devante Adams is their best player on offense. Max Crosby is their best player on defense.
Unfortunately for him, this is the first time in his career he's had to miss a game and deal with injury. And then you have a new head coach in Antonio Pierce, who the players wanted. But the Raiders are going to Raider. They brought in Tom Telesco, who had a losing record and walked out of Los Angeles, the Chargers.
I want to say San Diego. He walked away from the Chargers as a loser. People looked at all the talent that he put together and they never won a damn thing. And so the Raiders just came into the season being a crap show. First time head coach in Antonio Pierce. You're dealing with two quarterbacks with Minshew and O'Connell bringing Gardner Minshew, which means, you know, you have no quarterbacks. And Devante Adams is here, still kind of sort of in the prime of his career, trying to max out whatever he has left as a thirty one year old wide receiver.
And he's on the team that's going nowhere. The Raiders so far this season are two and two. They lost to the Chargers and them Panthers. This is before, you know, Andy Dalton took over.
Sorry, Bryce. They beat the Ravens and they beat the Browns. Yeah, the Ravens was a shock. But the Raiders are nothing. They're not going anywhere. They're going to take on the Broncos and people are just going to go yawn. And Devante Adams right now is dealing with a hamstring issue.
And, you know, you tweak a hammy, you could be out even longer. And so there's no rush for anything right now. And so where do they stand today? These Raiders are going nowhere. Devante Adams is having to answer questions about his future. Is he sticking around? Is he staying? It doesn't seem he has much of a relationship with the new head coach, Antonio Pierce. And so, of course, there was a message, a social media post today with a report that said that Devante Adams may have played his last game as a Raider. Now, I would reserve some of this for, I don't know, maybe some of the immature players like Brandon Aiyuk or maybe, I don't know, Patrick Beverley, formerly of the NBA, now of an Israeli team.
People who can't stay off the Internet. An NFL head coach, Antonio Pierce, reportedly liked a picture that said Devante Adams could be done with the Raiders. What are we doing? We got hit.
This is what a what a twisted ass world that we live in. We have an NFL head coach. I don't care what league or whatever. We have a coach who is liking social media posts about his player potentially leaving. Why doesn't he just send him a taunting direct message from a burner account like this? Could you like this is very Kevin Durant. Ask my apologies to Kevin Durant.
Not really. What are we doing? You're a head coach. And so Devante Adams, he talks to Kay Adams up in Adams. He talks to her about once a week I gather. And they were asked about or he was asked about this earlier today. Like, basically, it looked like he liked the post that said you were going to move.
And she basically said, what the hell is going on? Listen to what Devante Adams said. Your coach did actually don't know likes this post about you getting traded. How quickly how soon did you hear from coach? I haven't heard from him. I haven't talked to him. So I don't know. I don't really know exactly what I was about. Obviously, I got, you know, social media is a beast. So it's a lot of people out there that saw it and, you know, wondering what's going on and people reaching out. Yeah, I haven't I haven't spoke to him at the end of the day.
One seven doesn't create any. So people can say what they want. But I'm just chilling, trying to be the model for, you know, not stirring the pot and just just locking in and doing what I got to do. Here's a better question. Devante, aren't you sick about this? Are you going? Are you staying?
Are you being traded? Are you sick of this stuff yet? It gets annoying for sure. But it's you know, I'm one of those players that people like to talk about one way or the other.
So thank God that he blessed me with the ability to just focus in on what I need to focus in on and not get sidetracked by any of the outside noise. So if, you know, you know better than anybody, we've talked about this many times and I feel like that's why you got respect for me. If I was the type of guy that, you know, let certain things that people say on the outside gets me, then, you know, I wouldn't be in a position that I am now. And I have had some ups and downs in the league and do it all. I just try to stay like this and, you know, do my part in that.
So whatever else happens, people are talking about what people are tweeting, liking, you know, whatever it is, you know, I can't do anything about that. My goodness. What a way to force a guy out. This is the same Antonio Pierce, by the way. He's used to helping out wide receivers because he was with Plaxico Burress when he shot himself in the leg at a club. He helped get him out and get him to the hospital.
I think he also tried to hide the gun, I believe. I got to look it up, allegedly. Devontae Adams has been around for a long time. I told you he's 31 years old. He was drafted in 2014 out of Fresno State. This man has been to multiple Pro Bowls, used to being on the receiving end of passes from everybody's favorite ayahuasca drinking quarterback in Aaron Rodgers.
And he's still one of the best. He is. Only the Raiders would take the unless the Raiders are saying he's faking the leg injury, unless they're like, oh, this guy doesn't have a hammy problem. He's just sick of being here. So let's force him out anyway.
Like, we don't know all the details. I mean, this is going to be one of those miraculous things where he gets traded and now all of a sudden he's healthy. Is he legitimately dealing with a hamstring issue where he needs to miss the next month and then and then poof. He gets traded right before the trade deadline and he's healthy like this is going to play out.
And it's going to be fun because, you know, what's coming next? Antonio Pierce is going to have to answer and respond to this. I have to shake my damn head. Yes. Hickey, which which acronym is that?
I don't want to I don't want to get in trouble. Here's a shake. S.M.D.
No, no, no, no, no. S.M.H. S.M.H. OK. All right. M.D.H.
shake my damn head. OK. But definitely not S.M.D.
Definitely not. That is OK. All right. No, there was another letter I was thinking about. I didn't say that one. Oh, OK. OK. There's another letter.
Anyway, I'm shaking my head. This is ridiculous. Hickey, we're going to have an NFL. This is a first.
It has to be a first. We're going to have an NFL head coach who's going to be standing in front of the media and he's going to have to answer a question. Hey, Coach Antonio, there was a reportedly a post about Devontae Adams being traded. And then you reportedly like that, that that post, which would mean that you would want him traded or agree that he's done with the Raiders. Antonio, what's your response? And then he's either going to have to lie or say yes. Like what world do we live in?
Help me out here, Hickey. In the world we're living in is Raiders world number one. This feel like like you said, it can only happen a certain amount of teams. This is kind of a Jets story. This would happen to them.
Raiders are in that category as well. What do you think he says? What's his answer? Is it it was an accident? I had a fat dump, didn't realize I don't run my own account.
Someone else does. Do you think he says the H word? What's that word hacked? Oh, no. That's what happened to Shannon Sharp a couple of weeks ago, right?
To a lot of people that said or have done a lot of things on social media that, you know, they're not proud of or don't admit to. I was hacked. Shannon Sharp was doing the you know what on Instagram live and we all heard it.
Thank God we didn't see it. We all heard it. And then he immediately said he was hacked. Or at least his social media people put a post that he was hacked.
It took the guy like five hours later to go. I wasn't hacked. That was that was me. That was me. That was me sounding like a lawnmower. That was me.
It's like I'm five to six hours. Like hacked doesn't cut it anymore. Ain't no more hacked. Like Antonio Pierce, you were in your Instagram just scrolling around on rated stuff. And you just, by chance, I like the post about the top wide receiver being done with the team.
Were you just trying to send a message? And he might lie knowing he's lying and that it doesn't make a difference. Like what difference does it make if he's lying? What does he do? And let's think about this. I don't know. Does Al Davis's kid Mark, does he use Instagram? I don't know. Does Tom Telesco care?
Antonio Pierce go, they sit in a room and they go, yeah, we need to get him out of here. How do we do that? Well, let's just like the post and then say it was an accident. Done. Problem solved.
People are stupid. Doesn't matter. Come on. The Raiders don't want him anymore. And he doesn't want the Raiders. And I wouldn't be shocked if he didn't want the Raiders first, because look at the hell who the guy has to throw in him the ball. Gartner Minshew instead of Aiden O'Connell.
Does it really matter at this point? This is this is this is sad. Imagine your boss. Imagine it is why you keep people off of social media. Imagine your boss on your social media. You just I hate my job so much and your boss somehow sees it and likes it. And then you get the boot. What type of world is this?
What type of world? Man, only the Raiders. And so here's the ultimate question from Kay Adams. And you'll hear her asking. Are you done with the Raiders or not?
What I'm hearing is that you hear a lot of people think you're you might may never play another down as a Raider. What would you say to that? All I can control is this this talk we're having right here. And then after we're done with this, all I can control is the next thing that I'm going to.
So I'm going to get up in a minute and go get a nice workout in and that's all I can control. It was only about three hours after that conversation that word came out. That the Raiders are looking to trade him and he's cool with that.
It took three hours. Like this has all been in the works. He doesn't want to be there. They don't want him. And here we are. Davante Adams is going to move on from the Raiders. It's just a matter of when.
And then it's just a matter really of. Where I could think of a couple of teams that could use Davante Adams right now. You want to tell me that there's not some teams trying to compete for a championship who don't need or want a multiple time Pro Bowl at wide receiver.
You know what? We're going to take a break when we come back on the other side. I'm going to share with you some options for Davante Adams. The Raiders don't want him and he doesn't want them either.
Where is his best landing spot? I'm going to give you some options on the other side of the break. If you want to call up, you can.
You have some ideas where Davante Adams should go. Here, feel free. 855-212-4227. That's 855-212-4227. It's the JR Sport Reshow Coast to Coast. We got a full show. We got former MLB All-Star Brett Boone is going to join us next hour. Jared Dubin from CBS Sports. We'll talk to him about this situation with Davante Adams. He writes for all things NFL. Covers all things NFL for CBS Sports. And then you know what? I'll also tell you about Von Miller.
He's not being traded, but he's going to be missing for a while. I will explain. Happy Tuesday.
Happy 1st of October. You're locked in. It's the JR Sport Reshow here Coast to Coast on the Infinity Sports Network. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief. It is the JR Sport Reshow here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. 855-212-4227.
That's 855-212-4227. We just talked about Davante Adams and the Raiders. It appears that they're going to be parting ways.
It's just a matter of when. It's also a matter of the compensation that a team receives or gives up. It's been reported that the Las Vegas Raiders are going to look for a second round pick at minimum. If a team is going to acquire Davante Adams, he has no money that is guaranteed on his contract passed this year. He can certainly be traded to a team and re reconstruct some money, tax some years onto his contract. Or he can go in being, I don't want to say a lame duck, but I'm a rent a receiver.
I'm going to come through. I'm going to help you win a championship. We'll hoist the Vince Lombardi and then I'll leave, get a contract somewhere else. And so depending on what his future contract situation looks like, Davante Adams could be moved for a second round or maybe less, especially if, you know, he's not a long term option. And certainly we know that there's been a flirtation with the New York Jets.
I would certainly say that the Kansas City Chiefs make all the sense in the world. We know Rashee Rice hasn't been confirmed yet, but he's likely out with a torn ACL for the remainder of the season. But in what world are the Raiders going to move him? Davante Adams to the Chiefs, why the hell are they going to help out a rival in their own division? So he had here just take our number one wide receiver and go win another championship with him. I know the Raiders are stupid.
Hickey, are they that stupid? No, I mean, no. OK. No. All right. All right. These are the Raiders now. I know.
And that's why I'm having pause here for a second. Raiders. If there's going to be a team that trade another guy to a rival and say, yeah, yeah, yeah, sure.
Why not? We know we hate your guts, but one, it would be the Raiders. Now, where do you think is a great landing spot for him?
In terms of I guess I always thought about it from the perspective of which team needs him the most. I think two interesting spots. Pittsburgh, Jacksonville.
Oh, my God. Well, we know he ain't going to Jacksonville. I know Trevor Lawrence stinks. He I think he still has talent in him. And I think if you are if you acquired Davante, that could be the guy to get it out of him the best.
They are. Oh, and for I know it's oh, I guess I'll phrase it this way. It's not for this year. But if you're trading, if you're the Jaguars trading for him, twenty twenty four is a wash. You're trading for him first and foremost, trying to get Trevor Lawrence's career saved. He ain't going. He's not going. Hickey, would you if you were standing at the Port Authority, why why are you laughing? I just was not I did not see that one coming.
The location coming. If you were standing at the Port Authority and you were expecting to get on a bus to Washington, D.C., and the bus pulled up and it said first trip to hell, would you get on? Probably not. No, you wouldn't. I mean, the grim reaper would be driving the bus in the front and he's opening up the door. You're not getting on. Nobody is willing, willingly, especially somebody good with some gas left, is going to Jacksonville. Not not doing it like that. Not happening. Davante Adams would go. I'm already in halfway hell.
OK, I might as well stay here in Las Vegas. What I'm a go to Trevor Lawrence and Mac Jones to be a loser. What are they? What are their the odds of making a postseason this year? Zero. Zero. OK.
I mean, they're done. So how about this then? Fine. Yeah. Where he would say yes to.
What about the Rams? Plus, I don't think so. No, maybe. Maybe it's a possible.
Stafford, McVeigh. It'd be disappointing. You got help. I mean, Cooper Cup and Nakua should be back somewhat soon, but you can get some. Balls thrown your way in the interim. I think they're done. Best quarterback quarterback he's ever played. He has to go.
I mean, New Orleans, maybe. I don't know. Right.
The car. You know, he's been on the receipt guy through that. He's the reason why he went to the Raiders. Right. Bills. You want to play in that cold? It's guys from California. Well, he played in Green Bay, I guess.
He did play in Green Bay and Fresno got a little chilly. Yeah. Maybe he's had his fill of that. Yeah, we'll see. So, you know, the Saints for you. I mean, just familiarity. Right. Or that he can. Look, I think the man will be a chief.
He'll be a jet. Well, what's the one other one? The Saints pick one. OK, so those are your final three. Yeah. And he'll probably end up, like you said, on some no team like the Rams.
The Rams are not doing anything. He can go there, too. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. Sean is here from Michigan. You're on the JR Sport re-show.
What's on your mind, Sean? There's only there's only one team that Devante Adams needs to be on. And beautiful black and blue helmet uniforms. And that's the Lions.
That name just fits him perfectly. They had a great game last night, which doesn't mean it's always going to be that way. But if Devante Adams shows up there, it's going to bring another angle to that whole team and watch out. Yeah, well, the yes, the Lions did beat the Seahawks last night, smoked them forty two to twenty nine. But Sean and and hold on, hold on. Well, yeah, I can read off the entire stat line.
I saw the game here, but that's besides the point. Sean, do you think this man is necessary for all the firepower that they have? Amon Raas, St. Brown, Jamison, Williams. Why would they give up a trade capital to get him in?
What would you trade him? I just I just think God's got the army. He's got the talent.
He's got the 10 point accuracy. And if and if he puts another weapon out there, you know what happened to him? I didn't I didn't I didn't ask I didn't ask you that, Sean. I asked what did you ask? I'm sorry. I said, what would you give up to acquire this man? I would, as far as a trade capital goes, I mean, that'd be something that'd have to be explored a little bit deeper. Oh, yeah.
Do you do you want to be there? Well, that's that's easy to say if you were playing Madden. But this is real life. You have to figure out what you want to trade him for. You have to figure out if you're willing to give up something for a long term deal. You have all of these players who are making major money. Jared Goff just got a contract. Amon Raas, St. Brown just got a contract. You're going to eventually I assume you want to keep around Sam Laporta past his rookie deal. Jamison Williams is is already one of the most explosive wide receivers in the game. I think you want to pay him. Do you want to trade a draft asset for a thirty one year old wide receiver and you're going to rent him for nothing? It's not like the Lions can just bring him in. They're going to have competition, Sean.
I would say that, you know, if I would see what he's making now, you know, and maybe it makes 28. It's just ridiculous what they're paying these players anyway. Oh, that's that's that's a different conversation, Sean. Thank you for calling for Michigan. Now it's ridiculous. It's all ridiculous now. He's making twenty eight million dollars this year.
OK. He has no money, no guaranteed money after this season. If he signs a new contract or if they allow him to go shopping and shop himself, whatever the case might be. If he's going to come to terms on a long term agreement, if I'm the Lions or anybody, if I'm the Raiders, I'm going to say, no, you you're holding him for longer. You got him for three years. Well, damn it. Give me my second round pick.
Oh, you're just renting him. Oh, well, and I can't hustle you for a second round. I don't know. Give me give me a third or fourth. I don't know. You can't take a guy for half a season.
I'm just going to give up the world for you, man. I think the lines and offense is pretty good. Ask Jared Goff. This man stood at a press conference last year when told about all of the weapons that the 49ers had. He was not shy in telling them, have you seen our offense play? We can always take the position of, well, what if this guy gets hurt? What if this guy gets hurt? Well, this is the NFL is going to happen in the 49ers are full of players. Guys have been all busted up.
It happens. Well, sometimes you've got to roll the dice, not just a stockpile. Guys that you don't need. I don't think the Lions need Devontae Adams. And if I'm Devontae Adams, do I want to go to the Lions? Where do I fit in with all of these game breaking receivers?
Is there a place where I can help out more? I don't know the Jets. I don't know the Chiefs. There's there's some better options. You know, he's going to have some say so in this as well.
Because he has to figure out what his next contract looks like. You can play a little bit of hardball. It's the J.R. Sportbrief show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network, eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. You are listening to the J.R. Sportbrief, the J.R. Sportbrief show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network Coast to Coast. Been talking about Devontae Adams. Raiders looking like they're going to move on.
I think he's going to end up a jet, a chief, because the Raiders are dumb enough to trade him in the division or maybe a saint. You know, we had one caller from Michigan, of course. He's just like, oh, you know, a lion. I'm like, OK, just as that's too much. That's too much. Too much sauce. You put in too much on the food, man. Just relax. They got enough.
They really do. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. Hickey, correct me if I'm wrong. Did you say Buffalo? You said the Bills? I did throw that out there. Yes, there's a possibility.
Yeah, there's certainly a possibility. The Buffalo Bills facing their first loss of this past Sunday night against the Baltimore Ravens. We know that Stefan Diggs is gone.
He's now down in Houston. And Josh Allen has certainly spent time last week letting everybody know, you know, their job in Buffalo right now is just to move the ball around to everybody. Let everybody feast instead of just forcing the ball to one guy. Josh Allen then had to walk back his statement or at least clarify and say, no, I love Stefan Diggs.
Loved all my teammates. Well, I don't know how he feels about this next guy because he's finally been healthy. It looks like he's had three sacks here to open up the season. He's going into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He's trying to get another championship with another team. And his name is Von Miller. Why am I talking about Von Miller? Why am I referencing the fact that Josh Allen may not like him?
Well, I think there might be a lot of people who don't like him. Take a listen to this from WIBV TV up in western New York. Breaking news tonight. Bills pass rusher Von Miller has been suspended four games for violating the league's personal conduct policy. He will be eligible for reinstatement on October 28th after the Bills week eight game against the Seattle Seahawks. And let me tell you, I don't know, maybe it's the holidays and maybe it was because he was still coming back from injury and rounding into form. But you might recall that last year. There were allegations and this is these are some of the oh, this is even terrible to discuss.
I'm just going to do it. There were allegations that he assaulted his pregnant girlfriend. OK, they were in the house, they had an argument and got physical and what have you.
She later said. That nothing happened. Von Miller turned himself into police after he had an arrest warrant. He was being charged with third degree felony assault.
He was booked. He released on five thousand dollars bail. He says nothing happened. She says nothing happened.
He says everything that was alleged is 100 percent false. He said the case is closed. She didn't file charges. Nothing happened. No charges were filed. But the NFL doesn't have to follow the rule of law.
The NFL can follow whatever rule it wants to with its own investigation. And so the fact of the matter is. That ESPN got its hand on an affidavit last year from the police. And it was said. That the police.
It doesn't matter what he said or what she said. Why would the police lie about this in particular? I don't know. It says that there were. Minor abrasions on her hand that there was bruising to her neck. That the injuries were consistent with applied pressure to the neck. She had bruising on her abdomen and also on her arm. The injuries were documented. Police took photos.
OK. This was November of last year. He says nothing happened. She says nothing happened.
The photos show and prove otherwise. Von Miller is going to be out. The next four games, he is not eligible to return for the Buffalo Bills until week eight against the Seahawks. And the reality is, I can't look at Von Miller the same again. I'm sorry. And we have so many of these issues. There's so many of these players that, you know, you can't bring it up every single time. I'm sorry.
You know, a Kareem Hunt, a Tyreek Hill. You know, this is why I don't really become fans of players. You know, I'm like a lot of people who sit down and watch the game. You know, you can you can overlook what took place.
Ain't nobody out here. Perfect. But there's just something there's something bad about putting your hands on a woman or a child or somebody that's elderly. If I see two idiots, two men, two clowns, you know, fighting in the street or fighting in the stands, I'm going to them some two drunk ass idiots. OK.
But there's something very different about putting your hands on a woman, an elderly person or a child. I probably shouldn't say this. You should probably get your ass whooped. You should.
You should like beat up. I said it. Sorry. Not sorry.
Not sorry at all. And so Von Miller is in this space. He's in this this category and how he is accepted in the locker room. He will. He'll be fine. This man is going to come back and he'll get to the sacks and he'll, you know, start going on. And people will say that's his business. And what happens in his house? And it is.
That doesn't mean I have to look at the guy and pretty much approve what he has going on. But then also, if you think about this from a football perspective, right, because that's the that's the perspective. This hurts the Buffalo Bills who started off undefeated until they lost this past Sunday, got smacked around by the Ravens. They got ran through by the Ravens, a final score, 34 to 10. Excuse me, 35 to 10.
And it doesn't get easier. They're going to head on down to Houston, which bounced back after their own loss. And they're going to take on the Texans and then they have the New York Jets. And so things are not going to get easy here for the bills. I think they'll be fine. I think they'll be OK.
But for a veteran like Von Miller, who all things considered, he'd probably say, oh, Hall of Fame guy. You know, Broncos. Great. Rams.
Great. His sons with the Buffalo Bills gave him all this money, even though he's 35 years old. Is it is it worth it? You think about the blown out ACL. You think about this incident from last year. OK, no charges.
Is it worth it? I don't know. Maybe if they won a Super Bowl. I don't know.
People probably will not care. But for right now, this is a pretty nasty for a guy who's going into the Hall of Fame. If he retired tomorrow, he'd be in the Hall of Fame, a former defensive player of the year. He's been rolling for a long time. This man was drafted into the league in 2011.
It is 20, 20 for. Well, you thought you thought they had issues with the injuries on the defense, guys like Milano being gone, you thought they had issues with trying to figure out who the go to guy is. Von Miller is just a. He's a big issue, suspended four games, and I got no problem with this. People will run around and say, oh, no criminal. Nothing is. How much more evidence do you need?
What did the police come through and slap makeup on the woman and just say, hey, let's take pictures? Come on now. Hickey, this is terrible. Fix it. I wish I could. You're right. I think you said it's true.
It's very terrible. I'm glad the NFL is taking action, even though there is no action legally. And you get what you deserve, whether it's in the form of this punishment or eventually we'll come back to you. Well, he'll he'll come back. He'll be back in four games.
Von Miller will not be paid while he's gone. And I guess that's that's punishment enough. You know, we got a we got a guy here in. In Atlanta. I mean, this man was in his house and. With his wife and family and allegedly put his hands on on her and. And then he's driving nutty.
And then he's just accepted. He comes back and he's just smashing home runs and it's just like, oh, well, you know. Who cares? This is Ozuna. I'm Ozuna. I'm Ozuna from the Braves.
Like, what is that supposed to do? I'm supposed to leave you alone. A cop's supposed to give you a pass. I'm Ozuna.
Ozuna from the Braves. Being a jackass is not exclusive to some guy in the park. You know, some guy at the post office, some guy like me at a radio station or some guy who makes millions of dollars hitting home runs or sacking quarterbacks like a jerk is a jerk is a jerk. This shouldn't be J.R. wisdom, but damn it, keep your hands to yourself, please.
Please. If you got to put your hands on a woman and damn it, you ain't no man. It's the J.R. sport show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven.
