The Minnesota Vikings are off to a strong start in the NFL season, led by quarterback Sam Donald, who has thrown eight touchdowns. The team's defense has also been impressive, and they face a tough test against the Green Bay Packers. Meanwhile, the Jacksonville Jaguars are struggling, and the Buffalo Bills are dominating them 27-3. The Kansas City Chiefs are also facing challenges, with tight end Travis Kelce struggling to find his footing.

I'll be hanging out with you for two more hours. This show gets started every single weekday at 6pm Eastern, 3 Pacific. Happy Monday. I hope you had a terrific weekend.

The week is underway. Did you miss a minute of the show? Easy, hit rewind on the free Odyssey app. You can listen there, live, all that good stuff. Thank you to everybody listening, our local Infinity Sports Network affiliates. If you got Sirius XM, it's channel 158.

And if you have yourself a smart speaker, ask the speaker to play the Infinity Sports Network. We're wrapping up week three of the NFL season. We got one game and a double header that's already underway and we got another one getting ready to start minutes from now. The Buffalo Bills have not wasted any time against the Jacksonville Jaguars. In the first quarter, they lead 13 to nothing. Good luck to the Jaguars. Already started the season 0-2 and at this pace, they're about to be 0-3. There's still plenty of time left in the game, but it ain't looking good. Also, Washington, the Bengals, Jayden Daniels versus Joe Burrow. I'm feeling Joe Burrow might pick up his first victory of the season. We'll keep you up to date on everything that goes on while we are here on the air.

And we also have a guest who's going to join us. In 20 minutes, we're going to have a conversation with Pete Bursage. He's a Vikings radio analyst up in Minneapolis, St. Paul. And this is good for the Vikings, right? Who would have thought that Sam Donald and the Vikings would be 3-0? You signed up for this, right? Man, we got Sam Donald leading the NFL with touchdowns. He has eight of them.

Yeah, you didn't think that was going to be the case. So we'll have a chat with Pete. He's going to come through and join us in 20 minutes. If you want to talk to me, it's simple.

You can do so too. 8-5-5, 2-1-2, 42-27. That's 8-5-5, 2-1-2, 42-27. Monday Night Football, a double header. Hickey, at least now I can direct my attention in a better place, like to the game that's getting ready to start and not the one that's currently going on. That is the one benefit of the double header is that with this Jaguars-Bills game looking like it's already over, the night's not over.

Okay, it's not just one clunker. We get now maybe a good competitive Bengals-Commanders game where the night is not totally lost. Yeah, we'll see what this game looks like at halftime. I mean, Buffalo, 13-0 already? And we'd be sitting at 14 if they didn't miss that first extra point. So we'll keep you up to date on Buffalo and Jacksonville and Washington and the Bengals.

They're going to kick off in a little more than 10 minutes from now. So we got all the football action. We've had quite a few callers want to discuss the Dallas Cowboys.

Never a shock. We saw them lose to the Ravens yesterday after they lost last week to the Saints 44-19. But there are a few teams that deserve some love and credit. And we'll talk about the Minnesota Vikings in our next break when Bursich joins us from the Vikings radio network. Can we show love right now? Some Alique Willis?

Can we show some love right now? I don't think I've seen this guy ball like this since he was back at Liberty. We know he got a chance when he was with the Tennessee Titans.

It did not work out. And now he's backing up Jordan Love for the Green Bay Packers. And then with Jordan Love having been out with that knee injury and no need to necessarily rush him back, we saw Malik Willis again. And he looked good. And they don't need to rush back Jordan Love because this is a team that's trying to show that last year was not a fluke, that they can continue to grow on what they did.

And why rush it at all? Malik Willis yesterday knocking off the Tennessee Titans, a team that everybody wants to play because Will Leviss is going to turn the ball over. He had two interceptions yesterday. Malik Willis 13 of 19. A touchdown in the air. 73 yards rushing. A touchdown on the ground. And not too shabby.

So congratulations to him. Next up for the Packers? Well, a team that we're going to discuss a lot in a few minutes. The Minnesota Vikings. I think Jordan Love will return for that game. And Malik Willis, I guess this was a nice, I don't want to say revenge, but to take on your former team that didn't want you.

Then they go out there and beat him? Oh, it has to feel good. Malik Willis says, I've grown a lot since I left Tennessee.

Every day in order to make use of my next opportunity, which I've been just trying to do this last two weeks. And I think more than anything, you just try to continue to work hard and understand that you don't know when the opportunity will come, but you have to be ready for it if you get it. Yeah, he's playing himself into a solid backup role in the NFL, maybe even maybe even a starter's role. And as we've seen just so far in the current NFL, we got a bunch of guys who got a first crack at starting. It didn't work out for them. And they got paid.

They got paid on another team. And so I don't necessarily want to close the door on Malik Willis and what he's able to do. Head coach of the Packers, Matt Lafleur. He loves what he's seeing from Malik Willis. What he's been able to do is I've never seen something like this. So hats off to him. Hats off to everybody around him.

Guys rallying, having his back. Let's be real. There's no chance in hell that he's going to start. Jordan Love is the guy. I'm paying this man $55 million a year. And Malik Willis ain't dumb. If he continues to do this, though, he might get a crack at being a starting quarterback somewhere or definitely be one of the higher paid backups if he can, quote unquote, be one of the glue guys. We all know those quarterbacks that just show up, try to keep you afloat. And that's his job. That's his job here with the Green Bay Packers. We know whose job this is.

It's all about love. Maybe you get another chance. Speaking of another chance, out in Pittsburgh, did anybody get another or better chance than Justin Fields? We have not seen Russell Wilson all year because of his calf issue.

But Justin Fields, he's making it even more difficult week after week to pull him because they're winning. The Steelers are 3-0. They beat the Chargers yesterday. The final score was 20 to 10. Justin Fields, he had an ill-timed interception, but he had 245 yards passing, a touchdown in the air.

He had a rushing touchdown to go for it as well. And the Steelers, Hickey, they're going to take on your Colts next. Are you favoring the Colts against the Steelers? With the way Anthony Richardson is turning the ball over, I don't feel great about it. Oh, boy.

Yeah. Don't feel great. Yeah, big issue, his decision-making and what he's doing out there. The Chargers hand Harbaugh, or excuse me, because they lost, Harbaugh gets his first loss back in the NFL. Justin Herbert still dealing with that ankle issue.

He had to leave the stadium with his foot in the boot. The Chargers have spent the past, it feels like two or three weeks out on the East Coast because they didn't necessarily go back and forth, and things are not going to get better for the Chargers as they have to take on the Chiefs next. And Herbert has been dealing with, apparently, is like a high ankle sprain. But the Steelers, they're winning all these games, they're winning ugly. And I know we heard Ben Roethlisberger last week say that, eh, Russell Wilson comes back, you got to keep Fields out there. And they do, especially if they're going to continue to win. There's no reason to pull Justin Fields.

This is not looking good for Russell Wilson, not even getting a chance or an opportunity to go out there and play. Justin Fields, he spoke to the media after the game. He says, yeah, I'm happy with the way we've performed. You know, the offense, we did a great job responding, and we knew what kind of game it was going to be. So I'm just proud of the guys out there for responding like we did, especially after they scored that first touchdown, like you said, and going down and putting in drive together. So it was good.

It was good. Somebody else pretty happy about all of this? Mike Tomlin. In the most Mike Tomlin way, he was happy.

Listen to him be happy. We knew we were in for a fight. Styles make fights. They're assembled like we're assembled. And so we knew it was going to be an entertaining game. They're playing great defense. We're playing great defense. We had to challenge our defense to outperform theirs.

I thought they did. We got a commitment to the run game. Obviously, they came in with the league's leading rusher and the number one offense. And our offense had to out rush theirs, and we did. And that's why the game unfolded the way that it did.

And so I'm just appreciative of the efforts of the guys. Oh, yeah, he's talking about J.K. Dobbins. He has been lighting it up. He is the league's leading rusher heading into yesterday's game. He wasn't out there, no, 100 plus yards, 140.

That was not the case. 44 yards rushing for J.K. Dobbins. If there's one thing that the Steelers know how to do, it's going out there and it's winning ugly. And as Hickey said, taking on the Colts, I would choose the Steelers. The Steelers can legitimately start the season at 4-0 with Justin Fields as the starter.

That's not to say that the Steelers are just going to go through the year undefeated. But the question that I'm really looking at, when do we see Russell Wilson? Like eventually he's going to be healthy enough to go out there and play.

I know it is a calf, calves are tricky. Are we not going to see Russell? Do we have to wait for Justin Fields to have, I don't know, two straight bad games?

It's not written in stone that we will not see Russell Wilson, but we might not if this team continues to be competitive. Taking a look at the Steelers schedule, they have the Colts, they have Dallas, Las Vegas, the Jets, the Giants, Washington, Baltimore, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Philadelphia, Baltimore, Kansas City. The schedule gets tougher later on in the year.

But for right now, Justin Fields, he can't go out there and I'd say their most difficult opponent here over the next month. Dallas will certainly give them a run, even though Dallas, we know they're not all that good. It's probably Dallas and the Jets over the next month. Pittsburgh Steelers have a chance to really move things along. And speaking of the AFC North, this game is getting ready to kick off in Cincinnati as we get ready to watch, unfortunately, a doubleheader.

Washington and the Bengals. What is Jayden Daniels going to do on his Monday night football debut? And the Bengals, who have started the season 0-2, are they going to win the damn game?

We're going to find out soon enough. Joe Burrows spoke earlier today and he told everybody, yeah, we're 0-2, but I'm not I'm not ready to jump out the window yet. We're in a fine spot.

We've been here before. We're not panicking. So we're focused on getting a win and getting better every day.

Yeah, but this is not where you want to be. We've gone through the stats and the numbers and starting off 0-2 is not the way you go into the postseason. A matter of fact, you don't go into the postseason. I think there's only been, what, 14 teams out of 140 that have started 0-2 over the last 20 years that have gone in.

This is this is not something that you want to make a habit of. The Bengals should win tonight. And if the Bengals don't win tonight, they should pretty much be ignored for the rest of the season. It's been a rough start for them already. Losing to New England. Ouch. Losing to Kansas City barely.

Ouch. Y'all got to take care of Washington. Hickey, they're going to win this one tonight, right? They have to. Easily.

Yeah. Washington's defense stinks. They should be able to overwhelm Jayden Daniels. This should be a comfortable win here for the Bengals tonight.

It should be. Jayden Daniels, he spoke as well. What he's trying to prove and do tonight on Monday Night Football. Take a listen. I mean, I'm just trying to do whatever it takes to help get a win. But overall for the team, just, you know, it's a new it's a new team that we play hard. We play with effort. We're physical.

We're not going to back down from nobody. OK. Rookie.

That's the most appropriate thing. Rookie. He's going to be running for his life. If he can throw for a touchdown, good for him. I'd probably expect him to, well, probably rush for one and not throw one.

We'll see. Also, congratulations to the Bengals. They're going to have T. Higgins back. And so Jamar Chase has somebody else to work with. And Jamar Chase, he spoke, meant a few words. He said, yeah, I'm happy that T. Higgins is back because they don't put all the attention on me anymore. It's been good just knowing he's back, having him with good energy and just, you know, just having a boy's back out there.

That's all it is. Feels good again. Feels good. It feels good to be opened and not necessarily double teamed.

I'm sure that that feels very, very good. It's the JR Sport Reshow here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. We got one football game underway right now. The Buffalo Bills lead the Jacksonville Jaguars 13 to nothing. The Jacksonville Jaguars are trying to put the ball into the red zone to try to get up on this board.

Meanwhile, we just talked about it. The Washington commanders are getting ready to take on the Bengals. The Bengals are 0-2 looking for their first victory of the season. Starting 0-2 is unfortunately all too familiar for the Bengals. It's so damn familiar that Joe Burrow says we're not going to panic. They should light them up tonight.

They absolutely should light them up. It's the JR Sport Reshow here on the Infinity Sports Network. We're going to take a break when we come back. We're going to talk about one of the NFL's best teams and one of its best quarterbacks.

They're out here lighting people up. We're going to have a conversation with Pete Bursich, Vikings radio analyst. Did we know Sam Donald was going to do all of this? And I guess this is good for J.J. McCarthy, right? But then if Sam Donald plays like this, do they keep what we got? A lot of football to go.

We have a lot to discuss. The Minnesota Vikings are starting the season off on a roll. Pete Bursich, their radio analyst, joins us on the other side.

You're locked in. The JR Sport Reshow, the Infinity Sports Network. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief.

It's the JR Sport Brief show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. Oh yeah, we're listening to one of Minnesota's greatest exports, Prince. And another one of their recent exports is the Minnesota Vikings who happen to be winning right now, dismantling the Texans yesterday. 34 to 7. The Vikings are now 3-0 on the season. Sam Donald is throwing more touchdowns, 8, than anybody in the league.

The defense is lighting it up as well. To talk about the Minnesota Vikings and what they've done, what they can do, and how this quarterback situation will work out, I guess the rest of this year into next, is someone who used to hit people for the Minnesota Vikings. He used to coach for the Vikings, and right now he is their radio analyst. Pete Bursich is here with us on the JR Sport Reshow. Pete, thanks for the time. Oh, thanks for having me on. How are you guys tonight?

Absolutely. Well, outside of Sam Donald, we'll talk about him in a second. The Vikings are 3-0. Nobody knew what to expect when McCarthy went down. What has impressed you the most about this team and their 3-0 record?

Oh, I mean, yeah, it's like where do you kind of begin with this group? I think defensively it's been as big of an upgrade as any other phase of the game. I think we brought in quite a few free agents. Blake Cashman, Jonathan Granard, Andrew VanGinkle, Jerry Tillery, Stefan Gilmore, Zach Griffin, Fabian Moreau. It's quite the list of new faces on this drafted Dallas Turner from Alabama. So, a lot of new faces on the defense. And then for Brian Flores to get these guys to play so well as a unit so quickly. I think it's pretty remarkable.

And that's a big part of it. I think you look at where the Vikings were a year ago. We were 0-3. And we had turned the ball over 11 times in those first three games. So now we're sitting, we have five interceptions. I believe just one fumble recovery.

But 15 sacks. It's a different group defensively. And then obviously on the offensive side of the ball, I think Blake Brandel playing left guard has settled down that front quite a bit. Helped Garrett Bradbury out quite a bit.

They've been doing a pretty good job. And then Aaron Jones. As big as Sam Darnold has been, Aaron Jones has been really big for us as well. Just making something out of nothing. It's not as if the run plays are blocked any better this year than they were a year ago.

Maybe a little bit. But he just has a way of making people take bad angles. He's very difficult to bring down. And he's been very impressive so far this season as well.

Former Viking Pete Bursich is here with us on the JR Sport. I'm glad you mentioned Aaron Jones. So a few years ago he led the NFL in touchdowns. He doesn't get the same amount of attention of a Christian McCaffrey or a Derrick Henry.

But when he's healthy, he's certainly one of the best dual threats that we have in the game. Sam Darnold. This man, I know he played for the Jets. Quarterbacks in their careers can typically go to die. What has Sam Darnold done here that the fans in the city, they love him now?

Well, here's the thing. With Darnold, he was drafted third overall. So you know he has the requisite height, weight, and speed, and arm strength to be a good quarterback.

He's not missing any of the physical attributes. That's what the draft is all about. You don't draft a guy in the first round who's missing something. You don't draft a 5'11 quarterback in the first round.

Not too often, right? So he has the physical attributes. He goes to New York. It's just a matter of, I think as this game evolves, the quarterback position is becoming more and more and more important. And there are fewer and fewer coaching staffs that know how to develop that talent.

It's one thing when you sign a Kirk Cousins or a free agent and they've done this, they've been down this road before. It's something completely different to take a guy out of college and develop him. So he struggled. And turnovers were his main issue.

They were a bit of an issue in college. When he got to the Jets, it was an issue. And he goes to Carolina, which is like out of the frying pan and into the oven. But then he was fortunate enough to spend a year in San Francisco where he finally got some good tutelage, I think. And his numbers improved while he was there. But his opportunity to spend an entire offseason, work with Kevin O'Connell, who, by the way, was an NFL quarterback. He was a quarterback coach. He was an offensive coordinator.

Now he's a head coach. So I think it's given him the opportunity and the coaching that he needs. And basically, I think with Sam, it's turnovers. And that's what we've got to keep an eye on. When he showed up, he's very comfortable attacking the outside of defenses, which is interesting.

It's usually the other way around. It's just those throws across the middle. And he's getting better and better at them.

And he's getting more and more comfortable with them. And so we'll see. I don't know how we don't know how high. We don't. None of us know how good he can be. Right.

And we're just kind of sitting back and enjoying this right now. And hopefully, you know, Jordan Addison gets back into the mix, because I really think with his with with Donald's arm strength and Jordan Addison's ability to run routes, with all the attention on Justin Jefferson, Addison could be a really big part of this offense. And I'm not talking about 80, you know, 80 yard touchdown passes and things like that.

But I'm talking about you put him one on one with a corner. He's going to beat him on the comebacks or the deep outs and, you know, the nine, 10 yard routes that you need to move the chain sometimes. So, you know, once once Jordan Addison comes back, there's a whole that's a big, big, you know, piece of the puzzle, I think, for this offense.

Vikings radio analyst Pete Bursich is here with us on the J.R. sport re-show Coast to Coast. Well, the Texans were one big test. It took care of them 34 to seven. I don't know the odds of doing the same thing against a divisional foe. We got the Packers up next.

I assume that Jordan Love is going to make his return. What do you expect in that game? I guess the way the Vikings are playing right now, they're going to be competitive in every matchup, no? I would.

Yeah, I would hope so. I was I was very intrigued about, you know, with the matchup with C.J. Stroud.

C.J. Stroud is a very, very good quarterback. He's one I think one of the best young quarterback that's out there. You know, the running game was was a little bit, you know, mixed, a little bit set back without Joe Mixon or Damian Pierce coming into this game. But, you know, they the defense did a very, very good job of taking away throws in the middle of the field.

Nico Collins, a big body wide receiver, his numbers and how well he was playing the first couple of weeks. I mean, he was playing as well as any receiver in the league. And Stroud does an unbelievable job of finding him, especially when you blitz him. Stroud can break and get his way outside the pocket. He keeps his eyes down the field. And those receivers and he are all on the same page. Tank Dell, very explosive.

Don't forget about Stefan Biggs. This is this is quite the group that came up to Minnesota. And we get that interception early, get up on them early and then, you know, get up to touchdowns on them early. We were able to hold on to it.

And that's kind of the difference. And we've been up on teams before we weren't able to hold on to it. But going into Green Bay, this is this is as big of a game as you can get four games into it, because if you win this game, you're basically two games ahead of Green Bay with one match up left.

If you lose this game, even though your records are identical, you're a game behind because you lost to him head to head. So this this is a very, very important game for the division and for the Vikings this weekend. And, you know, Green Bay has done a masterful job at intercepting the football and taking it away from other teams. They have seven interceptions this year. So that group is playing at a high level.

And the more I talk about it, the more excited I get. I hate the you know, I hate Green Bay. I grew up in Chicago and played up, you know, been up here for twenty nine years. The only thing that you have in common with Chicago fans is, you know, you just dislike. I don't dislike the green like Green Bay fans per se in Wisconsin. I'm OK with that.

The problem is when you live in Minneapolis or Chicago, they all move out of Wisconsin and move into your city. Right. And, you know, they're throwing up the Green Bay flags and they've only had the best quarterback in the league since 1992. So, you know, and they won Super Bowls.

And so you hate them for that, too. But whatever. But yeah, this is playing in Lambeau. Nothing. There's nothing like winning in Lambeau Field. I'll tell you what.

But yeah, I'm just like I said, I'm just talking myself into getting fired up. Well, let me let me ask you this, Pete, with the success that the team has had already. It's not like the schedule is going to get any easier for the Vikings. You got Green Bay. You got that quarterback, one of them that you just referred to, Aaron Rodgers and the Jets. You have a bye, an early bye.

And then you have Detroit. It's it's going to get rough. Are the fans in Minnesota and the Twin Cities, are they just kind of taking this in? Are there any expectations now? Is everybody cautiously optimistic?

How do fans react into this? Yeah, I think cautiously optimistic is probably the best way is probably the best way to describe it right now. And the difference this year between last year or the year before, just really just the expectations of the NFC North. People expected Detroit and Green Bay to be two of the better teams in the NFC North. You know, obviously the 49ers out west. And so, you know, you know, you're going to play those teams twice, you know, two of those teams twice a year.

So it's going to be it's going to be a dogfight. And I think that tempered expectations. But with the way this team is played, you know, we had Kirk Cousins here for for a number of years and we were used to him and the type of passing game that he brought. And, you know, we didn't want to go back to the Christian Ponder years.

And, you know, those sort of things that we were struggling, you know, struggling at the position. And boom, in watch, you know, Sam Donald and he's everything is advertised, if not more. I mean, he's vastly exceeded expectations.

So. When you're three games into it and you're exceeding expectations, people have a tendency to say, OK, well, you know, that's good. But, you know, it's waiting state and, you know, they're not going to have to wait long because, like you just pointed out, the schedule does not get easier.

It does not. And I guess final question for you, Pete. Nobody is uttering anything about J.J. McCarthy. He gets a chance to relax and rehab for a whole year. Well, at least for now, with no expectations, no thoughts, nothing.

No, it's good for him. I mean, everything that you talk with the coaches, you know, Kevin O'Connell and everybody, the plan was really with Sam Darnell was the starter. And it was up to J.J. to take it, you know, take that away from him.

Now, I will say this. J.J. McCarthy, as a thrower, I think, came along a lot more quickly than they expected. They know he as a person, as a leader, you know, the intangibles, he has all those things. But there are some fundamental things that they wanted to clear up and is throwing and some other things. And from what I understand, he did that very, very quickly and was coming along to the point where it may have been a legitimate challenge for the opening day starter spot. And, you know, so it was it was unfortunate for him to progress that much and then obviously lose the year. But, yeah, he's the kind of guy that is going to be in the meetings, is going to learn as much as he can. And hopefully that that smooths things out for next year, because I really think he's the guy here no matter how well Sam Darnell does. Well, Pete, I think you got a nice run ahead of you. Good luck against those Green Bay Packers in the next game.

I understand that they're going to call you up to help knock some people around if they need it. Yeah. I don't care what happens the rest of the year.

They just get a win in Green Bay. That's it. That's all I care about.

The one game a year, you don't want to get all bent out of shape for. So here we go. Hey, Pete, where can people follow you on the radio and K-Fan and everywhere else? Fill us in. Yeah, my Twitter account is at Pete Bercich, B-E-R-C-I-C-H. And, you know, and K-Fan is FM 100.3 up here in the Twin Cities, part of Clear Channel.

So you can look us up there, too, I guess. Thank you, Pete. Enjoy the game and enjoy the rest of the week. Thank you very much.

Thank you so much. That Pete Bercich, a former linebacker, former knockie and a mouth former coach for the Minnesota Vikings, now an analyst on the Vikings Radio Network. It's the J.R. Sportbree show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. The phone number is 855-212-4227.

It's 855-212-4227. We got a well, we got a doubleheader. We got a lot of points. We got a lot of action in both games.

The phone lines open. If you want to give me a holler, we'll come back and talk about some of what we've seen so far this evening as the Buffalo Bills are going at it with the Jags. And also we have the Cincinnati Bengals going at it with Washington. We'll talk about that on the other side of the break. And then everything isn't always so good.

Kansas City Chiefs, they won a game last night and their tight end looked kind of miserable in the process. We got a lot to discuss. You're listening to the J.R. Sportbrief.

Oh, my goodness. This is ugly and Buffalo. Not for the Bills, but for the Jags.

This is ugly. 27 to 3. The Buffalo Bills now lead the Jacksonville Jaguars about two minutes to go in the first half. Jacksonville hoping to get the ball back and put some points up on the board before halftime. They need a touchdown. I don't know if it's going to make too much of a difference, but what an ugly one this has been for the Jags.

All Buffalo all the way. Thank you so much to Pete Bursich, former Vikings player, coach, current analyst for the Minnesota Vikings Radio Network for joining us in the last break to talk about a good team. The Minnesota Vikings, who are now 3-0. Sam Donald leads the entire NFL with eight passing touchdowns. Who would have expected that a month, a month or so ago?

I don't think anybody would have. And meanwhile, the team that I'm looking at, one of the teams I'm looking at right now. Jacksonville Jaguars, they're getting ready to go 0-3 unless there is a massive, massive turnaround here in this game.

Tamara Hamlin able to haul in his first career interception, which is pretty amazing given everything that he's been through. Trevor Lawrence just looks absolutely lost. This Jaguars team looks lost.

And I tweeted it out a few minutes ago. They're trying to get Doug Peterson fired. Not that they're trying to. But if they continue to play like this with no hope and no passion, no nothing, they got no spark. They got no life. They got no juice. The Buffalo Bills are just like getting free shots at the end zone and they're taking them.

This is bad. I mean, Keon Coleman, excuse me, Keon Coleman has his first touchdown here. Khalil Shakir scored a touchdown. And it's been it's been said that the Buffalo Bills, Josh Allen already has three passing touchdowns on the night. You know, it's been discussed what the Buffalo Bills are going to look like without having a surefire number one option at the wide receiver position. And Josh Allen is like, hey, we're going to we're going to share the ball.

We don't need that one guy. We're just going to share the rock. And so far, it's so good. Do I still think the Buffalo Bills will be OK throughout the season? Yeah. Am I up in arms about what they're going to do later this year?

No, we've seen the story. Do something, win something. But right now they are whooping that ass. Meanwhile, because it is a doubleheader, we got another game going on right now in the NFL.

This one, as you heard from Rich Ackerman, a little bit closer. The commanders and the Bengals are tied at seven all. Jamar Chase was able to haul in a 70 yard touchdown pass. Meanwhile, Brian Robinson punched in a ball pretty much at the goal line, giving Washington its only score. So they're tied up. They just got underway in the second quarter. But I think one of these games we can pretty much ignore. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven.

That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. You know, Hickey, I'm not saying I made a joke about it. I was dead serious that I think Doug Peterson is eventually going to get fired if they continue to look like this. Do you think they would the cons would pull the plug on Doug Peterson before the season is out?

I mean, why not? Like you paid Trevor Lawrence, who came in with expectations where you're going to compete. And if you're talking about you get into week 15, week 16, this team is just despondent. They have mailed it in.

They are, I don't know, four and 10. Oh, my God. I mean, horrific. Why not? Right. At that point, like if you feel like it's already a conclusion that as soon as week 18 ends that you're going to fire him. Fire him, you know, with three games to go to game.

Like, why wait? Who would have thought that coming off of, you know, Urban Meyer, that the guy that they bring in next who actually won a Super Bowl and that's his claim to fame. He says, oh, you won a Super Bowl. Well, it doesn't seem he's just going to have to sit around and be an offensive coordinator again.

I can't see somebody giving him another chance to go ahead and coach. As of right now, this this stat is crazy. Buffalo Bills have outgained Jacksonville 250 to 65 at one point here in the game. The Bills had 140 yards and Jacksonville had won, so at least they were able to to do something. But this is just sad. They're now showing, I guess, the only two miserable Jacksonville Jaguar fans in the building. And they they look sad. I guess they said, let's make a trip to Buffalo while we can before it gets freezing cold.

And this is just pathetic. Twenty seven to three Buffalo Bills lead Jacksonville less than two minutes to go here. They're going to hope for a touchdown.

Let's see if they go ahead and get it. And speaking of looking miserable, last night here in Atlanta, Georgia, I don't think people had a different expectations. These are the defending champion. The Kansas City Chiefs came here to Atlanta and they walked away with a victory. There was a controversial no call on a pass interference that wasn't called at the end of the game. Not necessarily the place to focus in on the Falcons missed chances and opportunities.

And the Chiefs beat them 22 to 17. But in some of the larger stories surrounding this game or the larger story, one of them storylines is the fact that Travis Kelce is just. A ghost. He's nowhere to be seen. And when he was seen last night, he was sitting on the bench.

Looking miserable, like his dog died or his girlfriend left him, which I don't think is the case. He finished yesterday with four receptions for only 30 yards over three games here for the Kansas City Chiefs. Travis Kelce, a future Hall of Fame tight end, 34 years old right now. Sixty nine yards receiving on the entire season. Rashid Rice is walking around getting 10 plus catches a game. Travis Kelce is getting nothing. And so Patrick Mahomes had to answer a question about this last night. And Patrick Mahomes pretty much said, hey, I want to give the guy the ball, but they treat him like he's a Hall of Famer.

What am I going to do? Listen to this. Yeah, I mean, I mean, it's crazy because teams still I mean, the respect factor they have for Travis is just unreal. I mean, it's well deserved, but I mean, we're calling a lot of plays for Travis and it's like two or three people are going to him.

So, I mean, he understands. I think that's the great thing about him is he wants to make an impact in the game, but he wants to win at the end of the day. And I'm going to try to do my best to keep feeding him the ball whenever he's there, whenever he's open. But I mean, I think the more Rashid makes plays, the more we're able to run the football, the more we can get worthy involved. I think that's going to open Travis up more. I mean, people are really emphasizing trying to take him away and just getting other guys open. Hickey, this is similar to what we saw last year. It wasn't until the end of the season where things really started going for Travis Kelce.

He didn't eclipse 1000 yards. I don't want to say he looked washed up, but he didn't really turn it on until late in the year going into the postseason. And even that Chiefs offense as a whole, I mean, they were average last year. I know it's Mahomes and you look at Kelce with Andy Reid, but you look at like the numbers. They were I think it was 15th in the league when it comes to points per game. They were led by their defense, which I mean, feels unfair to be honest with you. We had Mahomes and a great defense on the same team. But yeah, we have now seen really since the Tyree-Kell trade, we have seen this offense really kind of scuffle, have to grind out possessions. And for all the ease and high flying acrobatics and these big time explosive plays, we saw when Mahomes really first came in the league in the first few years afterwards, the last two or three years, this has been what it's been, which has been more of a grind and more of a it's been a tough assignment here for the Chiefs to score consistently. Yeah.

So you think about some of the weapons that they have. Rashee Rice had 12 receptions, 110 yards in that touchdown early. Juju Smith-Schuster had a TD.

Xavier Worthy, their first round pick that they got from the Buffalo Bills. He only had two receptions for 17 yards, but we saw what he can do. And like the first game of the season against the Ravens, this man gets open and he's a burner. And you would think that throughout the course of the year, if Xavier Worthy is now helping to take the top off the defense, Rashee Rice is certainly a he's tough to bring down once he gets the ball. He's a tough wide receiver.

You might be an idiot in a car. You would think things would open up for Travis Kelce as the year goes on. I'm not all that concerned about the Chiefs. We know that they're going to be there at the end. I had a friend of mine message me after the game from Kansas City telling me that the team has given us all heart attacks.

They got to wait until the end of the game. And I said, well, they're winning the close games. The bad teams lose them or they're not even in it. Like the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are currently losing to the Bills 27 to three.
