It is! The JR Sportbrief Show here on the Infinity Sports Network. I'm coming to you live from Atlanta, Georgia. Much love and many thanks to everybody tuned in and locked in all over North America. This is where I'm going to be. This is where we'll be for the next four hours. This is when the show gets started. 6pm Eastern, 3 Pacific. I'm in Atlanta, Georgia.
Super producer and host Ryan Hickey is in New York City. And you, I'm glad that you're here. I really am. Whether you're listening on the free Odyssey app, your local Infinity Sports Network affiliate, Sirius XM Channel 158, or SmartSpeaker, thank you for taking the time to hang out. It's Wednesday.
It's my job to get you over the hump. And because it is Wednesday and two hours from now I'm going to share with you a new top six list. We had some surprising victories in college football over the weekend. Hi Notre Dame. And so today I'm going to share with you a top six list of college football teams. Some of the biggest upsets we have seen this century. Yeah folks, that means for the past 24, 23 years, okay?
Anyway, there's a lot that's also going on today. Deshaun Watson said, I didn't do it. There's talk about the Browns and Deshaun Watson. Darrell Ryder is going to join us from 92.3 The Fan out in Cleveland, Ohio. I want to know if the Browns are sick of Deshaun Watson yet.
I mean the guy just got there, okay? At least he's playing football now. We got a bunch of dudes who are kind of banged up in the NFL. Guys who are unavailable. Guys who are not playing. We heard from Tyreek Hill today.
He had some thoughts about his exchange with the police dating back to Sunday. Some of his own teammates may not be able to play. We find out some of the best running backs in the NFL.
AFC, NFC offensive players of the week. We'll get into that. WNBA commissioner is kind of ticking off her own players because of some of the comments she made about Angel Reeves versus Kaitlin Clark.
Yeah, something like that. Sharone Moore got himself a new contract with Michigan. We found out that he has been coaching without a deal, a formal deal. I guess they're trying to figure out when they were going to give him the boot if they could. Wild stuff all over the internet avoided today.
Shannon Sharpe was hacked. That's what they say. And how about this? It was only not too long ago, a few minutes ago, actually. The New York Mets avoided a no hitter. Yeah, another no hitter.
How exclusive they are in baseball right now, huh? Anyway, if you want to holler at me, it's simple. The phone number here is 855-212-4227.
That's 855-212-4227. You can find me online. I am everywhere at JR Sport Brief. Ryan Hickey, how the hell are you? You doing good? I'm doing great, JR. Can you say it with me? M-V-P. M-V-P. Come on, I know it's in there. Don't be afraid.
Anytime you want to shout it out, feel free. No. Are you referring to Sho Hey Oh Tani? Is that who you're referring to? I'm referring to the man who, as the Mets were getting no hit in the ninth inning, losing 1-0, saved the game, saved the Mets from history, and helped spark a 6-1 rally to win and beat the Blue Jays. That is your future NL MVP, Francisco Lidore.
Any voters out there listening? Hope you're watching the game today. I did see a Francis lost his no-hit bid in the ninth. He had one a couple of weeks ago. I mean, you think, okay, even after today, you think Francisco Lidore is going to get National League MVP?
Do I think or should he? Because, I mean... Do you think he's going to get MVP? Do I think the voters are smart enough to give the award to the right person? I do not.
Okay, there you go. I mean, Sho Hey Oh Tani is running around with 46 home runs and 47 stolen bases. And Francisco Lidore is certainly the linchpin. I got to give the Mets credit here. I did not expect them to have a record of 80 in 66.
If they were going to have 80 wins, I was going to peg them in at approximately also 80 losses. And at this point, the New York Mets, they have exceeded expectations. You look at the starting pitching and how they've been able to have a second win.
Maniah, Severino. And the last time they brought in, I don't want to say, vagabonds from other teams, they were future hall of famers, but they were at the end of the rope. Thinking about guys like Verlander who looks cooked and Scherzer who looks cooked. And actually, I got guys who can step out onto the mound right now and go, damn it, pitch and be healthy enough to do so. So I want to give the Mets a whole lot of credit. Pick your thought process change on the Mets this season. You thought that they were going to be good all year long. I thought they were a playoff team. Now they're not a playoff team yet. So long way to go here. And I've seen many Mets collapse.
So I'm not going to put the cart before the horse. But I will say where they are right now is where I expected them to be back in March. So far, so good.
Wow. Look, man, the Yankees have a record of 83 and 62. The New York Mets have a rate record of 80 and 66.
This isn't exactly what I was thinking. But it's it's still September, September 11. And we still got a lot of the month to go. And we'll see what happens with the New York Mets.
They've they've been on a roll that nothing but admiration and credit to the Mets. Not a joke. I guess all that grimace. And did I miss any other gimmicks this year? Was it just grimace? And what else did?
Oh, my God. Grimace. And what else? And they also had a hot dog eating dog.
I forget her name. What? It was like not a rally dog per se, but on the TV cameras earlier in the year when the Mets won like a 10 game winning streak, like one of the early games right around the time of grimace as well. There was a dog in the stands. I was eating a hot dog from the owner. And she also kind of got thrown into the grimace.
Omg. If you want to use the word gimmicky gimmicks of the season, gimmick gimmick is the word. What happened to the guy with the New York Mets who wore the funny suits? He was famous before grimace took his thunder. The rally pimp. Oh, my is what he was. Oh, my God.
I don't I'm not a fan of him. The the rally pimp. Yeah. Well, because of the shades in his outfit, the rally pimp.
Yes. And the mullet or I guess more the perm. But also, the Mets stunk when he was around. Well, he was there the first game.
They sucked. Yeah, he had he had about a good three weeks. The rally pimp. Yeah, that's when the Mets were at their worst. So he's out. He's out. They needed grimace to come in to move the rally pimp aside to actually bring winning back to Queens.
The rally pimp. I will say, that's very much. I was going to say there's not another team in baseball.
What other team in baseball? Yeah. Hey, you got a super fan. Yeah.
Who is he? The rally pimp. What? Angels had the rally monkey.
Worked well back in the day. David Eckstine was. Yeah.
Random Tom. Yeah. There's a difference between a monkey and a pimp. OK, definitely. I think I think there's a difference between a monkey and a pimp.
I think I don't know, but I believe so. A congratulations to the New York Mets and what they've been able to do. I like watching the Mets have success. Good luck. Good luck. And Otani. Yeah, that's that's your MVP.
Sorry. Francisco Lindor could. He won't have to do a whole lot more.
He's going to have to have a 50 50 season. Let's just put it that way. 8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27.
That's 8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27. If there's one thing Francisco Lindor does. He plays.
Every day. Offense and defense. This man is playing in the middle of the field.
It is not easy playing shortstop, but he shows up to work in the Major League Baseball season as well as it's almost done. We had about two weeks and it's curtains. We know that we've now completed week one of the NFL season. And one of the big games that we have to start off week two takes place tomorrow night in Miami. As the Buffalo Bills come to town to take on the Dolphins now, this isn't typically good news for the Dolphins because the Buffalo Bills have destroyed them since Sean McDermott took over in 2017. We're talking about a record.
Of 13 in two. Buffalo taken on Miami. OK, if you want to go a step further since Josh Allen showed up into town. The Bills are 11 into. Josh Allen against Miami, 41 touchdowns, 36 in a year.
This is what the man has done, torturing Miami since 2018. Pretty bad. And if you're Miami, things don't get any easier with some of the news that you got today, because not only is a chain hurt with an ankle, you also have Raheem Mostert, who's dealing with a chest injury. He's definitely going to be out. This is what Mike McDaniel had to say earlier today about his busted up running backs.
Raheem, no, Devon. We'll see how it plays out today. Thursday night games.
It probably should be your triggering point, Barry, because like I don't, you know, like there's several guys that will will be feeling out and and go from there. Man, I want I so want to take Miami at home. I do. I think I think I actually for one time they could actually beat up on the Buffalo Bills on the road. You know, Buffalo Bills on the road, it'd be different if Miami was going up to Buffalo when it was December.
But it's not. But knowing that the running backs are kind of injured and that you're going to have to rely on Jeff Wilson and like jailing right over from Tennessee. Yeah, like the reason why somebody like Raheem Mostert went last year and had 21 touchdowns, because you got to look at at Waddle and Hill.
Those are the threats. And so I think the rushing attack, maybe the Buffalo Bills will be able to stifle them in the air a little bit, knowing that, well, the two of their best backs are not available. Raheem Mostert looks like he was built as a creative player in a video game. Devon Achan, this man is, I don't want to say faster than a speeding bullet, but coming out of school, this dude is a track star for real. Remember that game he had last year? They rung up 70 points on Denver. He rushed for 200 yards.
He had a couple of games where he was going off 100, 100, 200. Miami doesn't have that right now. And so the Buffalo Bills, I'm going to change my damn mind. I think they're going to go down to Miami, and they're going to walk away with the victory. And yeah, sure, it's a short week for everybody. But this is a real short week for the Miami Dolphins. There have been more conversations surrounding Tyreek Hill being detained and speeding and not rolling his window down and then getting slapped around.
Then there's been to, you know, attention to the actual game. You know, last night we had Armando Sagüero here from Fox Sports and Outkick, and I asked him specifically, is this story with Tyreek Hill going away? He said, no, man, they're doing an investigation. But one thing that I'm surprised took place today is Tyreek Hill admitted he was wrong and that he could have done better. He's not changing his stance that the police were overly aggressive, which I agree with, but I actually want to also give him props because Tyreek Hill said I could have done something better.
You know, Tyreek Hill is of the thought that, you know, things could have been different if I behaved differently. Listen to this. I'm human. I got to I got to follow rules. I got to, you know, do what, you know, everyone else would do, you know. So now does that give them the right to literally beat the dog out of me? Absolutely not.
But at the end of the day, I wish I could go back and, you know, do things a bit differently. Hickey, I got to tell you, man, I'm slightly shocked that he admitted that. I mean, he has changed his story from Sunday. We got the body cam footage and then we get this statement from him today. We've talked about this all week like they were both wrong. He was wrong for not rolling down his window and the police were overly aggressive. But I'm surprised he admitted it.
The reason why I'm not is just because of what you said. The video was released. So now everyone has seen it. Everybody has an opinion on it. There are some people that think Tyreek Hill is totally innocent. Plenty of people think he's totally guilty.
I think most people like in this nation in general land somewhere in the middle. And I think because the video is out and you can get kind of see right in front of you, you know, a close up view of Tyreek Hill not rolling down the window, rolling it back up, not exactly doing what the officers say in the manner that they're asking him. I think it's easier now for Tyreek to admit it just because we've all seen it. I wonder if the body cam footage did not come out, if he's singing the same tune. Good point. I mean, we wouldn't know.
Your word versus mine. And he still kind of sticks to one of the reasons that he did not fully roll his window down and keep it down. He didn't want he didn't want to cause the scene like, OK, all right, fine. I didn't know there was going to be a flash mob rolling up on him and the police as they did their due diligence.
He didn't want photos, et cetera, on and on. Well, I give him credit. He said. He would have done that differently, but he didn't change his mind about the police officer. He says he still wants him to get the boot gone, gone. He got to go, man, because in that instant right there, like not only did he do treat me bad, you know what I'm saying? He also treated my teammates with, you know, disrespect. You know, he had some crazy words towards them and they didn't even do nothing like what did they do to you?
They just walking on the sidewalk. OK, he admitted that that he could have done things better. The police, they're still doing their investigation. The police union certainly defending its officers. One of the officers is currently on leave. And so what next?
It's as simple as that. Tyreek Hill continued on from today and he said everybody, everybody involved needs to learn and do better. It's a lot we can learn. I think in football, how we get better from things is we watch the tape and we get better from it, you know, and this instance we should do the same, you know, like a lot of people want to critique. A lot of people want to criticize. A lot of people want to do this. But I think this can be a learning tool for everybody. OK, watch the tape and do better. That's an appropriate analogy, given what we have seen or from Sunday morning. Watch the tape. And get better.
It's Tyreek Hill. He says he could have done better. And I'm hoping now that this situation starts to die out until we find out that there's something actually just constructive. Coming out of the conversation, at least for the people down in southern Florida. Come on, people, police, dolphins, Miami Heat, Panthers, I don't know, whoever.
Get together and figure something out. I'll be here in Atlanta. It's the JR Sportbreeze Show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. We got a lot to do as the show continues. I told you it's Wednesday and about two hours from now I'm going to share with you my top six college football upsets this century. We're going to talk about the comments made by Kathy Engelbert.
The WNBA commissioner is ticking off her own players. Sherone Moore, Michigan. He got himself a new contract that's been coaching without one. But you know, when we come back on the other side of the break, I want to go ahead and tell you about somebody else who's in some trouble. His name is Deshaun Watson. Today he spoke. Love you.
Hear from him yourself. You're locked in. It's the JR Sportbreeze Show. The Infinity Sports Network. You're listening to the JR Sportbreeze. It's the JR Sportbreeze Show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. 855-212-4227.
That's 855-212-4227. You know, right before we went to break, we heard from Tyrico. He said that he could have done things better this past weekend when he was put in handcuffs, when he was interacting with the officers and what have you. He made that admission. Now what comes after this?
We have no idea. There's another NFL star. He's in his own trouble. We've told you and updated you on Deshaun Watson, who is facing another allegation of sexual assault in another civil lawsuit. The same lawyer who represented the 24, 25 other women. Well, he's back. And this time he's representing another woman who says that she was assaulted by Deshaun Watson.
And so what happens? We heard from Deshaun Watson's lawyer, Rusty Harden. He says that Deshaun Watson strongly denies these latest allegations in what is another lawsuit.
Deshaun strongly denies the allegations in the Jane Doe lawsuit filed Monday. We have asked him not to comment further while this matter works its way through the courts, but are comfortable he will ultimately be vindicated. Let's also remember, you know, going out there and settling a case is not an admission of guilt. But he settled about 24 of them cases to make them go away. It must be nice when you have two hundred and thirty million dollars guaranteed coming your way.
Just hand everybody some money and just tell them to go away. Well, that was the the message released by his lawyer. Deshaun Watson spoke to the media today as the Cleveland Browns look to, I don't want to say turn your season around after one loss. The Cowboys smoked them 33 to 17.
Jacksonville Jaguars are next. Deshaun spoke and he didn't just talk about the Jags. Of course, he was asked about these latest allegations. Take a listen.
The statement is the response that, you know, we talked about and, you know, everything that he put in that statement is exactly what how I'm feeling and what we're going through this process with. Did you have any idea that this lawsuit was coming when you're on when you were playing Sunday? No, sir. I found out exactly whenever everyone else found out. Wow. OK. Tyree Kil said when the body cam footage came out, he said he was watching Beetlejuice. Oh, interesting.
OK. He was he was at the movie theaters watching Beetlejuice and he had to step outside the movie to watch the footage. Oh, it's funny stuff. It was not funny stuff.
This. Could you imagine you're in the movie? I assume he's with his family. He's just sitting around watching a movie and get a message, phone blowing up like, hey, you know, your arrest yesterday, your detainment is on social media. You may want to watch it. I think it's tough to go back into the movie after that. It depends on how good Beetlejuice is. Come on now. This is a sequel of Beetlejuice.
One. Why are we making sequels of everything? Let the original live. Beetlejuice came out, well, like 30 something years ago.
I don't think we needed another one. Anyway, congratulations, Michael Keaton and I don't know who's at Winona Ryder, I think. Good for the hickey. This is freaky stuff, though. Well, you know, did you see Beetlejuice? No.
Right. I have not. No.
And the sequel coming out has not driven me to watch the original. There are two guys who are sitting in a medical office and they a lady put a hex on them and their head shrunk. You ever seen you seen these guys? You know what I'm talking about?
No. If I see the picture, maybe they are like these seven foot tall dudes and some lady sprinkles dust on their heads and their heads kind of shriveled up. They are like, imagine if Shaquille O'Neal had the head, had a head the size of a like a Kiwi. Oh, wow.
It was still seven foot one. Okay. I have seen these guys.
Okay. So those, those, those two guys were here at the station in Atlanta this week promoting the movie. Hopefully not dressed up like they are in the movie. Oh, yes. No, they were these two. Of course not. Not real.
Well, they were real, real humans in an outfit, but they were gigantic humans walking around with tiny heads in the office this week promoting the movie. Yeah. Okay.
Well, we could, we could have had them on air, but what did they say? I don't know. I dropped the ball. That's that's bad. That's poorly produced right there. I'm sorry, JR.
It's okay. What I'm going to say to Beetlejuice characters? What took you so long? To do what? To make, I mean, if you're gonna make a sequel, don't you usually make it two or three years after, not 30 years after.
You know what that goes to show you by the way? Hollywood. Losing creativity. Nothing. Well, look, I saw there's a new Transformers coming out in a cartoon. I'm like, another one? What are we going to do? How many more Planet of the Apes and Transformers and X-Men movies can we make? Nothing original.
Anyway. Tyreek Hill was watching Beetlejuice. We don't know what Deshaun Watson was doing when his allegations came out.
I don't even want to guess. I don't want to know what the hell he's doing in his off time. I do know his head coach, Kevin Stefanski. He also spoke to the media today and he lied because he said we the team are only focused on football. We are not thinking about Deshaun Watson's allegations. Regarding Deshaun's legal situation, we put out a statement yesterday. I won't have much to add past that statement.
We'll let a due process play out and follow the NFL's guidelines. We are 100% focused on Jacksonville, 100% focused on going on the road against a good football team, trying to find a way to get a W. I know you said you're 100% focused on Jacksonville. Just, you know, haven't been around him. Where's his focus?
Where's he at? Yeah, focused on on the task at hand from becoming a distraction. Yeah, it's how we operate, Jeff. We really are concerned about the things that are right in front of us in this building. Concerned about we concern ourselves with our opponent.
So that's that's really where our focus is. Not playing him, given the seriousness of the allegations. No. I was not aware of the allegations. Yeah, not a really consideration for me. It sounds like a distraction to me. I mean, the coach could wish everything away and say, hey, we the team are just focusing on football, and I'm sure they're not sitting around in the locker room in the meeting rooms going, hey, you know, Deshaun Watson, they're going to ask us questions about it. They're not doing that.
But when you have to answer questions about it, everybody in the building knows this. This contract might be one of the worst contracts in NFL history, in sports history. The Cleveland Browns.
Let's just think about this for a minute. The Cleveland Browns gave a player a quarterback they traded for a guy and signed him two hundred and thirty million dollars guaranteed, knowing he was in the midst of settling and receiving twenty four, twenty five plus allegations of sexual assault. This is what they signed up for. I don't want to call it karma. I don't want to call it karma. But this is going to bite them in the ass. It already has. And then the man broke his shoulder last year.
It's not a matter of being of innocent or guilty. This go round. He may settle this one to make it go away. I don't know.
And then maybe another woman will come out next year. I have no idea. What I do know is that the Cleveland Browns, man, they are a bunch of suckers. They suck. They got that stupid elf on the field now, I don't know what his name is, doesn't matter to me. They got that dog pound. I feel bad for their fans. Give it a little while. They're going to be back to showing up at the games with that little brown paper bags on their heads.
What an embarrassment. At least the New York Jets, their problem will leave them or disappear in a year or two. Deshaun Watson's money, 230 million. Well, that's not going anywhere. Man, the Browns are going to go right back into the toilet.
What you get for being greedy? And Baker Mayfield? Oh, Baker Mayfield, he has his feet up somewhere. Now he's laughing. He's going to the movies and he's watching Beetlejuice all the way through with not a care in the world. And his new contract.
And no allegations of sexual assault. Browns are garbage. It's the J.R. Sportbri Show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network, 855-212-4227.
That's 855-212-4227. By the way, I think the Jags are going to beat the Browns. And eventually, I hope we see Jameis Winston.
That's just me. We're going to take a break. We're going to take a break. When we come back on the other side, I'm not going to talk about bums. I'm going to talk about two guys who have actually started the season off hot and maybe like Baker Mayfield.
Their former teams are probably envious about what these players are doing in their new places. I'll tell you who they are on the other side of the break. You're going to call me. It's 855-212-4227. You're listening to the J.R. Sportbrief. It's the J.R. Sportbrief Show here on the Infinity Sports Network, 855-212-4227.
That's 855-212-4227. Right before we went to break, I told you about the Cleveland Browns. Maybe regretting their decision to bring in Deshaun Watson, whose additional allegation of sexual assault has certainly brought on another distraction, whether or not they want to admit it or not. And I said that Baker Mayfield, the man who threw four touchdown passes this past weekend, he's kicking his feet up. He's enjoying life.
He's taking a look at the Browns and he just shakes his head every time that they, you know, news pops up on his phone or on his television set. Hickey, is it is it still a TV set? No, that's that's it. Right.
I'm dated. I mean, yeah. TV screen, TV screen.
Most people, right. I've cut the cord. There's no box anymore, so there's no set. But the set is the box behind the TV, not even a cord. It's the set is the whole box. Box behind the TV like.
Now, now you're dating yourself. Hold on. That's a set. That that is what a TV set is. It's a set. It's it's a box is big.
It's the screen is just the front part. And it's a TV set, a television set. No TV has a box, though, anymore. They're all flat. They're all flat screens.
Well, that's what I'm saying in the back. So it's not a set. Right. It's just a television. Right. Oh, OK. I thought you were arguing that even a flat screen should be still called a TV set. That's my confusion.
No, no, no, because there is no right. No, there's no no set up or big whatever that what the hell was back there. I don't know. That's a great question. That thing was like one three feet deep and it was heavy, heavy as hell. Oh, my God. What were we doing that now? You just need these TVs are light as a feather.
I don't know, man. Remember, used to take two, three people or move a big TV out of a house. Had to have one person hold the door, trying to move a television set down a flight of steps was like moving a couch. This is like a new era now. You just pick a screen up and then carry it.
Nothing. Remember when you used to go to the store to actually shop for TV? I used to have like those big walls of just TVs. Oh, yeah. Yeah.
Now it's one one click on the on the phone. TV's here tomorrow. You got HD. Oh, you told my Amazon to deliver. Yeah. Well, you know, I mean, any any place. Yeah.
Wow. But I mean, when was the last time you bought a TV? Did you go in the store to get it?
I think the last time I bought a TV, maybe twenty nineteen, twenty eighteen. I did. I got it from I got it from Best Buy and I had to, you know, put the the trunk.
I had to put the back seats down to slide it into the trunk. I did. OK, nice. So we got like a 60 inch. That's that's pretty good size.
I don't I don't know. You're putting those seats down. That's a good size.
Nice for 40, 50 inch TV or something like that. Not that big. Guess the job done, though. And hey, it's terrible. You know, I've needed one since next time. You're right.
Next time I'm just going to have somebody delivered the Amazon, drop it off at the house. Forget that. I guess all the TV. No, but there used to be a time if you wanted to buy a television, you wanted to know what it looked like before you bought it. It's true. But does it matter anymore? Well, now you can see what it looks like online.
No, you're lying. Well, I mean, like I mean, but the color, the images, there was something about buying and shopping for a television that was you could see the differences in the brands and, you know, certain brands a little bit fuzzier than others. I don't know. Maybe everything's the same now. I don't know. I would say you're right.
I guess at this point it's probably the same or close enough where I don't think if you do like a test in person. Oh, I don't know about that. I was watching my television one day.
Somebody was sitting there like, hey, this is a little 3D. And I said, is it? I said, I don't know.
I was like, they were like, my TV at home doesn't do this. I said, it doesn't. I said, I don't know. It did look very 3D.
There's like a, it was like a regular show. I'm like 3D. Okay. Whatever.
Anyway, you got the goods over there. No 3D. I don't know what I guess. Sam is Samsung.
That's what it is. I don't know what else is Samsung. Uh, anyway, Baker Mayfield, I'm sure whatever he got in his house is much better than my Samsung TV. And he's sitting around laughing at the Browns or somebody else who might be laughing. We got two players, the AFC and NFC offensive players of the week.
They are laughing at their former teams. Saquon Barkley wins the award for the NFC. Former New York giant, current Philadelphia Eagle went down the turnpike. Joe Mixon wins the award for the AFC. Joe Mixon, former Cincinnati bangle currently with the Texans. The Texans beat the Colts 29 27. Meanwhile, his old team, the bangles, they couldn't muster a damn thing.
They got beat by the Patriots 16 to 10. It's embarrassing. And Joe Mixon ain't trying to look back. Who would look back at the bangles?
Nobody. He's looking forward. Joe Mixon spoke to the media today and he says, you know what? Yeah. I rushed for 159 yards.
Yeah. I had a touchdown, but I wouldn't be able to do it without the big dudes up front. But I mean, that's more, you know what I'm saying? That's accolade for my whole line, the whole offense receivers and tight ends, man. I mean, they did a big part of that. You know what I'm saying? And I just was the one that obviously get recognized, but without them I wouldn't be in that position, man. So I'm just grateful to, you know, I'm over here with a bunch of dogs and they doing whatever they can, man, to make me look good. You gotta, you gotta send them money, right?
You would just take them out to dinner where they buy everything off the, off the menu, maybe. He said, coach D'Amico Ryan's, he's happy to have him in the building. He says, man, he's a Texan for real. Seeing Joe play in his league for a while, I just always have admired Joe from afar.
Every time that we went on going against him, I know how tough the matchup was. So it's just mutual respect. You know, seeing a guy who's done it and done it the right way. I just like bats who play physical. They play the game the right way. And that's what Joe represents, right? Joe loves football. He's a, he's a great teammate. He's a leader. He brings great energy every day.
So we vibe off of that instantly, right? And he's been a great fit, great addition to our team. Oh yeah, well he is. I mean, that offense is stacked. Nikko Collins, Tank Dell, CJ Stroud, already one of the best quarterbacks in the league. You bring in Stephon Diggs. Now you got Joe Mixon running back. Come on, man.
Everybody in Cincinnati, they're jealous. And T Higgins can't even show up to work right now. You got to bust it up, Hammy. Jamar chases the whole damn show out there.
Pay that man. Let's talk about the NFC Offensive Player of the Week. Saquon Barkley. He ain't looking back at the New York Giants. New York Giant fans might be looking at him. The man had three touchdowns in Brazil on Friday night as his team, his new team, Philadelphia Eagles went out there and beat the Packers 34 to 29. Three total touchdowns, 132 total yards. Saquon Barkley went healthy as one of the best players in the league, just from this past Thursday.
He says, you know what? I am happy to have made the most of the opportunity in the opener. There's going to be games where there's opportunity for me to go out there and take over and there's going to be games for A.J.
Lavonte and so on and so on. So I didn't have like no idea. I think it does a really good job of having a feel for the game and feel for the players. Still, I feel like I left a lot out there and can't wait to get back and watch the film and see where I can improve on. But, you know, it was a great start. Damn, how much more is there?
More? His head coach is happy about it because every touchdown is helping to save his ass and keep his job. Nick Sirianni says Saquon, he's been great for the Eagles. And we're so excited to have him. And he made some huge, huge plays throughout this entire game.
And, you know, he made it in the past game. He made the plays in the run game. I don't even know what he rushed for, but he made some huge plays and critical moments and scored a bunch of touchdowns. And, man, it's, yeah, to have him on our football team means a lot, right? How he did a great job of putting this team together. And, you know, he's a playmaker and he's a great leader and he's a great person.
People feed off his energy. And if I was Nick Sirianni, I would just basically be kissing everybody's backside all the time. Because if they don't win, if they don't have success, they're going to fire him. I said, hey, Saquon, you need a couple of days off. Oh, Jalen, I know we didn't hit it off last year all that well.
But, you know, why don't you call the plays on offense? Nick Sirianni, I don't know if there's a more powerless head coach in the NFL right now. There's somewhere between him, Mike McCarthy, and then Rob Salah, who's not even really the head coach of the New York Jets. He's just Aaron Rodgers guy, I guess we can call him. Yeah, that's exactly what I call him. Aaron Rodgers guy. It's the JR Sport Reshow here with you on the Infinity Sports Network, 855-212-4227.
I'll tell you this much. At least these guys are playing. Joe Mixon is healthy and playing. Saquon Barkley, his own history of injuries. He's out there and he's playing.
