Start of the weekend, happy almost official second game of the NFL season? I think that makes sense.
You know what the hell I mean. Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles down in Brazil. Kickoff is only minutes away. Anyway, whatever you're doing, wherever you're at, I hope you're well, I hope you're safe. I might be in Atlanta, Georgia, but thank you so much to our producer holding it down for us today. Thank you so much to Nico Scarlatos. This show gets started every single weekday at 6 p.m. Eastern 3 Pacific. If you've missed a minute or you missed a second, you have missed a lot already.
Thank you so much to our guest last hour for joining us. Cordell Woodland, 105.7 fan out in Baltimore came through to talk to us about the Ravens and Lamar Jackson. You missed it.
Hit rewind on the Free Odyssey app. And then, of course, we talked about, I don't know, Russell Wilson, who currently is apparently not healthy enough to start Sunday against the Falcons. We might see Justin Fields sooner and more than than later.
OK, sign me up for that. Caleb Williams and doesn't necessarily have the biggest fan and Bill Belichick based on what we've seen. Jamal Adams, unfortunately for him, hurt again, dealing with a hip injury, not able to make his debut with the Tennessee Titans. DeAndre Hopkins. And we don't know if he's going to make his second season debut here with the Titans because he's dealing with a torn MCL. Not looking good.
Dak Prescott still doesn't have a contract done. And the season is here. You can always listen when the Free Odyssey app, your local Infinity Sports Network affiliate, Sirius XM Channel 158 and a smart speaker. You ask the speaker to play the Infinity Sports Network and boom, the show pops right on up. If you want to call up, the phone number here is eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven.
That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. You could also find me online on the Internet where we've already had a few callers. Well, not callers. We have one guy on the Internet confuse our our producer tonight, Nico with the Ryan Hickey.
Things happen, I guess that's just just how things happen. Hey, Nico, you having a good time so far, man? Heck yeah. You ready for this NFL Brazil game? Yeah, I'm very excited. Just awesome to have football back.
You're right about that. You heard the Philadelphia Eagles and their concerns. Do you think do you think anything about the game taking place in Brazil? Do you care at all?
It doesn't really move the needle too much for me. But if the NFL thinks that a global expansion is good for the league, then I'm not going to stop them. They seem to know what works because they've been the most successful sports league in this country.
So, yeah, it's trying to push keep pushing over that 20 billion dollar mark annually. I could tell you this much just visually watching the game. The game is exclusively on Peacock. Last night it was on NBC and Peacock today unless you live in Green Bay or Philadelphia. No, you got to watch it on Peacock. The production quality is almost exactly the same as to anything that I've ever seen.
It doesn't appear to be any type of difference. The stadium looks good. Everything looks good. So I'm looking forward to the game. We haven't heard complaints on the early part about the field. They said the field is the same. But this is the NFL. We have heard complaints in the past about, you know, markers and decals on the football field and the quality of the grass. So I would not be shocked if we heard any of those issues today, during or after the game.
But all things considered, this this looks the same. A lot of Packer fans in the stands, jerseys of various teams. The NFL has taken quite quite a bit of time to try to market and create a market in fans in Brazil. And they certainly look like they're having a good time. So as we continue on, as long as I am here on the air, you know, once they kick off, we'll give you some updates here and there as to what's taking place down in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the NFL's first game in South America. Roger Goodell said it himself. We are in Brazil to widen the fan base and make some money.
So we'll see what happens between Jalen Hurts and Jordan Love. I'm going to go ahead and give the edge to the Eagles out down in Sao Paulo. Also an interesting story. It was reported that it took the Packers about 90 minutes to two hours to travel to the game.
Sao Paulo is fourth largest city on earth. That's that's wild. I thought that'd be a little a little bit thought out some more. But maybe they wanted the players to sit down for two hours and get rest before the game. I have no idea, but we'll fill you in.
8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27 is 8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27. Now things get tricky. I know who I'm going to see on the field in Brazil because they're already out there. When it comes to one wide receiver in particular in the NFL, I don't know when I'm going to see him. He doesn't know when you'll see him. Well, maybe he does.
He just doesn't want to share it with you right now. I'm referring to Jamar Chase. The man drafted fifth overall in 2021 was the offensive rookie of the year that season.
He's already been a three time pro bowler this past season, even with Mr. Burrow missing time at the end with that that wrist, that hand. Jamar Chase finished with 1200 yards receiving to go along with seven touchdowns. Without a shadow of a doubt, Jamar Chase is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. He's top three. He is right there. If you got to look at the top, Tyreek Hill, I would say Justin Jefferson has probably jumped him. And Jamar Chase is probably right there, either third or in that space. You can put CeeDee Lamb right there if you want to go.
Those are your four. There it is. Tyreek Hill got his deal done first couple of seasons ago. Tyreek Hill said here. Here it is. Thirty million dollars a season for a wide receiver. Justin Jefferson said, here it is.
Here I am. Thirty five million dollars for a wide receiver. The number for the wide outs right now is thirty five mil outside of Tyreek Hill, who hasn't had his contract adjusted yet.
But, you know, he's going to be itching to do so, too, when the time is right. And so if Justin Jefferson is making thirty five a year, if CeeDee Lamb is making thirty four, A.J. Brown is the third highest paid at thirty two.
It's real simple here. Jamar Chase wants to he wants that thirty four, thirty five. I mean, we heard just a couple of days ago. There's a little joke going on and maybe not so much of a joke that Jamar Chase, he wants a little bit more money. He wants a penny more than his old LSU buddy and Justin Jefferson. And Jamar Chase made a joke. He's like a penny.
It'd be a whole hell of a lot more than that. Listen to this. A lot of rumors. Is it true that the reports that you want one penny more than Justin Jefferson?
If I want to beat Justin, I'm going to beat the shit out of Justin. Not by a penny. OK. If you wanted to. Is it not reasonable if CeeDee Lamb just got thirty four? For Justin Jefferson to have thirty five, wouldn't that be reasonable for Jamar Chase to sit at that thirty four range as well?
I think that's that's reasonable. Now, what it's going to boil down to is the guaranteed money. CeeDee Lamb making one hundred mil guarantee. Justin Jefferson one hundred and ten. What does Jamar want?
One oh five. And we know about the Cincinnati Bengals notorious for being cheap. I expect Dak Prescott to have his contract by the time the season starts.
I expect that without a shadow of a doubt. The Dallas Cowboys want to make all the noise in the world. They want to make it very clear to everybody that we're the Cowboys. We're in charge. And that we can suck all the attention out of the room on NFL Sunday. I've been saying this for weeks. It's going to be 12 p.m. Eastern Time.
It's going to be 9 a.m. Pacific. And the news will break just in time for all of the pregame shows that Dak Prescott has signed his deal with the Dallas Cowboys. Jamar Chase, I got to be honest, I wouldn't be shocked if they had no deal. I wouldn't be shocked if they they went into the season and nothing was done. Now, Jamar Chase is in a unique position. He's two years out from being a free agent. He said that the Bengals approached him. He also said it wouldn't matter too much because he was going to ask anyway.
And so here's the million dollar question. For this team. That starts Sunday, a matter of fact, against the Dallas Cowboys. Is Jamar Chase going to be out on the field? Jamar Chase said, I'm a game time decision.
Listen to the contract status. Pretty good for real. I want to say we're off a little bit, but you know, it's in reach, but we'll see by game day. We'll see by game day.
That's right. I'm mixing up my Ohio teams. That's the Cowboys taking on the Browns. The Bengals will take on New England.
And here's something else to keep in mind. T Higgins dealing with a leg injury. We're going to find out, I guess, how much of a team player Jamar Chase is going to be. If T Higgins can't go, is Jamar Chase going to pull the ultimate? You need me card.
You need to pay me and set out. That would be a nasty decision now, wouldn't it? I don't think Jamar Chase is a nasty guy. I think Jamar Chase is going to play. And it might be a game time decision just based on what happens with T Higgins. If T Higgins is able to go, even coming off of a leg injury, is he going to more than likely set out? Maybe. I think he's going to go out there and play. He said that they have their own kind of timeline on things and wants to get it done today was kind of the day today is kind of done. Could they swing things before the night is done?
Of course, not no nine to five job. This is the NFL, but I'd be surprised if Jamar Chase is not on the football field. I'd be shocked. Maybe the Bengals would do something right this time.
Maybe they'll shed the cheapskate label. I think Jamal play Nico given his own situation financially, given the the potential injury to T Higgins where he doesn't play. Do you think we'll see Jamar Chase out on the football field?
I think we should. I think it's ridiculous that he's holding out knowing that he still has two years left on his deal. I understand he wants to get paid and everything, but this might be the first time that we've seen something like this before. I mean, usually players on a contract year would hold out, but not with two years left.
Oh, they approached him about the deal and the contract and the money is the money right now. What would you do? Would you go out there and play?
I would. I think it's I think it's a matter of the team and I know they're playing New England week one who's not the greatest opponent, but if T Higgins is not going to play, you got to go out there and and and give your team the best chance to win. If they're going to go out there against New England without their two best receivers, I don't care how bad the Patriots are.
Now you're putting your team in jeopardy of losing a game that they should not lose. So Jamar Chase, given all of his success since he's come into the league, he is scheduled to make only setting it. I pay only in context. Seven to eight million dollars this year. Seven point seven is what he makes.
Given his production and given the fact that the Bengals came to him to offer him a contract extension, knowing that he is underpaid, he's outplayed his rookie deal. There's I mean, there's a big gap and chasm between seven point eight and thirty four thirty five. Also knowing that, hey, you know, if I get injured, it might adjust. There's no guarantee. But they may say, oh, you're coming off of an injury or it's a major injury. And now, you know, that money is gone.
It's out the window. I think he's going to play. I also think and this goes against my my better judgment because this is the Bengals, the horror stories that we have heard from the T.J. Hoosman Zardoz of the world and the Chad Ochocinco about their working conditions. Some of the grades that the Bengals have gotten from the Players Association survey about their working conditions, having to buy lunch at certain days at the facility.
How much more cheapskate can you get? You can't invest in a team to the tune of lunch. These are these are athletes. They're using their bodies.
I would think at minimum you would want to give them decent food options that they wouldn't have to pay for. But I digress against my better judgment. And I might be wrong because it is the Bengals. I think they'll get a deal done at the last minute. And I think Jamar Chase will be out there on the field because, as we know, the Bengals sounds crazy to say they went to the Super Bowl a couple of seasons ago. And you can certainly go out there and thank the quarterback Joe Burrow for helping to lead a turnaround if he didn't have a history of injuries here early in the NFL. He would he would consistently be in the conversation. Top quarterback here behind Patrick Mahomes. He'd be in that mix, but he hasn't played enough recently for people to say so. And so when you have Burrow and you have Jamar Chase and T. Higgins, this man is playing on a franchise tag, a franchise tender. You have to give everybody the best shot. And I just think Jamar Chase is too good of a teammate. I think he's too good of a person. I think he's going to go out there and play. And I think the money and the Bengals, they'll take care of it.
This still is the Bengals. It's the J.R. Sport Reshow here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. You want to call me? It's simple 855-212-4227.
That's 855-212-4227. You can find me online at J.R. Sportbrief. Dak Prescott doesn't have a contract. We know he's going to play. Jamar Chase has a contract has been negotiating an extension. We don't know if he's going to play.
Someone without a shadow of a doubt who's going to be out on the field. He just got a new contract from Miami. I'm going to tell you who it is on the other side of the break.
Between him and Tua, I guess you can go out to lunch with either one of these guys or Tyreek Hill. I'll tell you who this new defensive player is, the richest at his position in the league. You're locked in. It's the J.R. Sport Reshow on the Infinity Sports Network. I need you to think O'Reilly Auto Parts for all of your car care needs.
Get guaranteed low prices and excellent customer service from the professional parts people at O'Reilly Auto Parts. Damn, what a fast start in Brazil. About four minutes have already gone by during the course of the game. Looks like we might have a flag on the play. Green Bay waiting to see whether or not a score is going to stand up. The score currently 0-0 until the six referees figure things out. Give you an update, of course, is they're underway in Brazil. And for me, a guy standing in a studio watching football?
Man, I can't tell they're in Brazil. I have no idea. By the way, this happens to be an Eagles. This is a home game that's been taken away from no score, offsetting penalties. Yeah, OK, nothing. No score. We got to wait again. Everybody in Brazil is like, what happened?
Why did they take away the point? Football, crazy city. Now, I mean, when you think about the rest of the world.
It's kind of crazy how we are. Exporting American football to the world, because quite frankly, there's there's zero, zero comparison between American football. And what the rest of the world calls football in most places, well, very few places call it soccer. Every place else, soccer, soccer, soccer. But think about the the import in popularity of soccer to the United States of America. The MLS has certainly grown over the years. A Messi coming over last year was a huge boon to MLS with the whole Apple TV deal and how much money he made. But I think even this year with Messi and some of his injuries, like the excitement isn't there the same way. Messi came over and he was like, this is child's play. But this season and then with the stop and the pauses in the season, it just it's like a like a drop in a bucket. I think here in the States, there's more like Caitlin Clark mania. What we had last year with Messi in the course of the summer.
We don't have that this year. So it's kind of odd how we have the growth of soccer here in the United States of America. But then in the rest of the world, we're trying to get people invested into the NFL. It's going to take a long time. And I always find it funny when people start saying, well, they're going to put a league in London or a team in London.
I'm like, not so fast. How? How are you going to do that logistically? It's pie in the sky.
It's something that somebody might stand around and say when they're drunk. But the NFL could have more games in London. They ain't slapping a team out there. NBA is not putting a team in London. We ain't putting a team in Mexico City. That's too damn far.
Like, don't don't don't hold your breath on any of it. The United States of America, North America, it's great to have teams and neighboring Canada. It's right the hell there. Mexico City ain't ain't right the hell there.
In London is certainly not right there. So we got to enjoy our sports and if the NFL can get more people invested and interested in the sport to help it grow then good because ultimately what I think will happen. I don't want to say as the NFL gets softer. But as more people become interested in the NFL, we have flag football coming to the NFL in 2028. Would it not be outside of the realm of possibility in another, I don't know, 20, 30, 40, 50 years? I don't think I'll be here.
I don't think I'll be here. But the fact is, are we not going to have flag football? Is that not something that the NFL can grow internationally as an offshoot of the NFL? I just can't see, you know, people all over the world saying, yeah, I'm going to strap on some helmet and some shoulder pads and just go out there.
Nah, man. I would think flag football is even more closely associated to not soccer, obviously, use your feet versus your hands, but it's a little bit more free flowing. You don't you don't need equipment.
You can you can tie a towel on yourself and just go out there. I think that makes football and they know this on Park Avenue, but it makes the game so much more accessible to the world because football, American football is not. There's a reason why soccer is an international sport. You get a ball and you kick it.
That's all you need. OK, if you can go out there and kick a ball and roll something up, you can do it. And how what's that ball?
You can make one. People are very, very creative when it needs to, you know, when they need to occupy themselves, roll up some socks and kick it. People are innovative, man. So the NFL genius idea trying to spread the game, the next step is is flag.
And it's a step by step process. I wouldn't be shocked if when the time is right, the NFL says, yeah, we're going to do a flag football league and do this out in South America or do this out in Europe. This might be an alternative to, you know, rugby.
This might be an intermediary. Why not take advantage? There's a reason why internationally you got soccer and then you got basketball, two sports. You don't need a whole lot of nothing. You shoot growing up as a kid.
I remember standing in between two houses and, you know, shooting a rock into a garbage can and shooting a ball into a garbage can if there was no hoop. So I give them credit for what they're doing. What do you think about this this global expansion? I know we touched upon it a little bit earlier on in the show, Nico, but do you think that the NFL eventually has a viable product overseas that doesn't include expansion? I mean, I think it's similar. The way I try to compare when I think of like when the NFL goes to London is very similar to soccer with like the Premier League and how there's so many Premier League fans here. I know so many people that are like big on like, you know, Manchester United and Manchester City. Now, that's not my thing, but it's very popular here. So I could see it being the same way in London where there's a bunch of people over in England that watch the NFL.
Yeah, absolutely. And the other element of it, the world is so much smaller today due to digital media and to be able to consume content. There is a big segment of the American population that is invested into, you know, European soccer and football strictly because of a video game, because of FIFA. Like there's a big part of the population, people that have played FIFA for the past, I don't know, 10, 15, 20 years now that have just gotten interested in the game. And now with streaming technology, first you had to pay for it on your television subscription and now you could actually go out there and stream it. And whether it's on Peacock or you want to watch the Premier League or the Bundesliga, it's so much easier to get involved. It's so much easier now to also push and promote the sport with X and Facebook and Instagram.
It's easy to be locked in outside of a magazine or a fuzzy channel on your television set. And so there's been a big advancement. It's real cool to see how sports continues to evolve with technology. We've heard so much already about the NBA's deal with Amazon and what that will look like. More recently, there have been rumors and not even rumors that they've been negotiating this for months with Bally Sports and Diamond Sports.
We know where that's going. And Amazon may take over regional sports broadcast for a lot of those stations. And so that means it won't be on cable anymore.
That means you'd have to stream it. And if you got to stream it, then what's the point on cable? There's a big portion that comes out of your cable bill.
I'm sure you know. A lot of that is based on whatever sports package you have. Well, if that's not necessary, like we're moving further and further away from well, why would anybody have cable? Things are really, really getting ready to crater here more than they have. And they will continue to crater, especially for cable over the next, I want to say, 10 or 15 years.
And it might be curtains way, way, way before that. I may be giving them too much credit. The world continues to change as I sit in the studio in Atlanta, Georgia, connected with Nico in New York City, surrounded by one, two, three, four, five, six screens and a board talking to you into your car or your phone or your computer or whatever the hell it is. Technology is crazy.
It really is. And sports is a part of it. It's the J.R. Sportbreeze show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network, eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven.
We're going to take a break when we come back on the other side. I am going to tell you about an individual who just got paid today in the NFL, Angel Reese. She's getting money from all over the place, not from her WNBA salary. And she recently started a podcast. She has some interesting things to say about a moneymaker and Kaitlyn Clark and her fans.
We'll get into all of that. It's the J.R. Sportbreeze show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network, eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven as eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. Well, we finally got a score on the board here in Brazil. Green Bay leads Philadelphia three to nothing. About eight minutes left in the first quarter. A Jalen Hurts interception.
Xavier McKinney brand new to the defensive backfield for the Green Bay Packers. A man grabs an interception and Philadelphia Eagles able to take that and kick a field goal. So there you have it. A Jalen Hurts throwing an interception turns into a score only three points.
Something is better than nothing. We'll see. Yeah, I see a lot of Philadelphia Eagle fans already pretty spastic at what's taking place. Anyway, I've been telling you that and I guess this is the closest you can get in the NFL to Brazil. Down in Miami, they're paying another one of their players. No, it's not Tua Tonga Velloa making his fifty two million dollars a year. No, it's not Jalen Waddle twenty eight.
No, it's not Tyreek Hill at thirty. Jalen Ramsey is the latest dolphin to get paid today. A contract extension, three years, seventy two million bucks.
And what does that do? Makes them the highest paid cornerback in the entire NFL. Only days, days days after Patrick Sertan, the second of the Denver Broncos, he got a new contract for years.
Ninety six million averages out to twenty four per year. And so we heard this joke a little bit from Jalen Ramsey or excuse me, not Jalen Ramsey. We heard this from Jamar Chase.
Too many J's. Jamar Chase said about the rumor that he wants to make one penny more one penny more than Justin Jeffress. And he said, no, it's got to be a whole hell of a lot more than that. Jalen Ramsey's deal is for twenty four point one million dollars. Pat Sertans is twenty four flat. One hundred thousand dollars. That's the difference.
That's it. Just to make Jalen Ramsey the highest paid in the league. Jair Alexander is behind both of them at twenty one. A.J. Terrell recently signed his new contract here with the Atlanta Falcons. He's making twenty point twenty five million dollars. Denzel Ward of the Browns twenty point one.
Nobody that I just mentioned is going broke. But Jalen Ramsey is now the highest paid cornerback in the NFL just by one hundred thousand dollars over Pat Sertan and Jalen Ramsey. It's kind of crazy to believe he's already been in the NFL. Since twenty sixteen. He's been in the league since twenty sixteen.
Wow. He's going to be 30 years old. I remember interviewing Jalen Ramsey before he even got drafted. I interviewed him in the draft process. That was dammit. That was in twenty sixteen.
Yeah. He was taken fifth overall out of FSU, which could certainly use him on the football field right now or maybe not. They need a quarterback more than anything. He's been a seven time pro bowler. He won that Super Bowl after being traded from the Jacksonville Jaguars to the Rams when he was with the Rams. At that point, they signed him to the highest paid contract. At that point, it was twenty one million dollars a season. And then we know the Rams had to basically get rid of everybody because they shot everything, everything that they had in a tank. They shot it out to go ahead and win that Super Bowl, which which they did. And so now Jalen Ramsey, who traded to Miami last season, has had his share of injuries. Last year was a pro bowler again, despite knee surgery and the off season, two shoulders being operated on. But he was eager to go to Miami.
Can't blame him. If you're Jalen Ramsey, what the hell else are you playing for? Right. You're on a Hall of Fame trajectory. You put together a couple more Pro Bowl seasons and you good.
You have your Super Bowl, you have your Pro Bowls, and then ultimately you have your gold jacket. Now, here's the problem. Miami ain't going anywhere. Sorry.
I said that plenty of times. The Miami Dolphins ain't nothing but a finesse team. And if you think about some of their changes, big deal, right? Vic Fangio, who's the defensive coordinator right now, he's in Brazil coaching the defense for the Eagles this very minute. You think about some of the guys that they brought in, Elias Campbell, a little old, right?
Can still play, but a little old. Jalen Phillips has been dealing with that Achilles that he blew out last year. You have Javon Holland and you have Jordan Poirier, who's coming down from Buffalo.
You drafted Chop Robinson from Penn State. That will be interesting. But it's about the offense. The offense is too sexy for the Miami Dolphins.
Let's just. And it's a small offense, too, by the way. It's like Hill and Waddle and Beckham, who, by the way, hasn't even played yet, won't play for the first four games at minimum with an undisclosed injury, hasn't even caught a pass from Tua Tonga Veloa. When the weather gets cold, the Miami Dolphins, they don't do a damn thing. They will. They fall apart. They'll put up their numbers. They'll put up their points. They'll beat the bad teams. They'll falter against the good teams. They'll lose against the good teams in the cold weather. And then we have it another normal Miami Dolphins season. But I'll tell you this much.
They'll be entertaining, right? Jalen Ramsey. I mean, he doesn't even get a lot of attention anymore with Tyree kill on the squad. Tua Tonga Veloa doesn't say anything worthwhile. Jalen Waddle doesn't say anything worthwhile.
And then even to to keep things moving. Mike McDaniel. He's the funny guy.
He's the funny dude of the squad. I remember when he when he Jalen Ramsey got to the team last year. Jalen Ramsey said, hey, our new coach, I like him, but he's weird.
What is it about Coach McDaniel that's intriguing to you? Uh, he a little weird. You know, he he a little weird.
We all weird in our own way, but, you know, a little weird. But that's cool, though. And he does things his way. Right. And he's himself all the time. Like, it's not fake or nothing like that. So I know that's one thing all the players have said about I have talked about with me and they like that about him.
Yeah. Well, they like the guy because he's weird. I know one thing that actually like I know one thing the fans of Miami would actually like if the Miami Dolphins could win something. But I don't think they're winning anything with this group. Tyreek Hill. He's going to be good for a few more years.
He's not going to grow 20 more inches like he's had his best success with the Kansas City Chiefs. Miami Dolphins are they're just a team on a I don't want to say a rat wheel or hamster wheel treadmill might be more appropriate because they're human beings, but they're not going anywhere. They got to compete with the Buffalo Bills, who, yes, I know people in western New York.
We've had this conversation a lot. The Buffalo Bills are still good. They're not in the same place that they've been. The New York Jets, if Aaron Rodgers is healthy, as he should, they'll be a much improved team. And then the only thing saving saving you is that you have my boy, you're Miami, but you have New England out there and you can all beat up on the Patriots. That's it. Miami Dolphins are paying all these players to a tongue of love with Tyreek Hill because they have no choice.
You'll be doing a whole lot of nothing. Nico, what are your thoughts on the Dolphins, man? I actually think the Dolphins are going to be very good. I think they're going to win the division in the AFC East. I'm not sold on the Jets yet because until they prove otherwise, I don't think it's fair to put all this high expectations on them. I think Buffalo lost a lot on both sides of the ball, so I don't think they're going to be as good as they were last year. So I like the Dolphins to win the AFC East. Now, how far they go in the postseason, I can't sit here and say that they're going to make this deep run to the Super Bowl because, like I said about the Jets, we haven't seen them do that yet. But I do think in terms of the regular season, they're the team to beat in that eastern division.
Okay. Yeah, I mean, the only thing standing in the Jets way is a healthy Aaron Rodgers. And if he can play, then they'll certainly battle it out. The Bills have taken a step back. But I got no faith in the Dolphins. They can certainly go ahead and win the AFC East. But when they get there, they ain't knocking off no Chiefs.
They would have to win multiple rounds. Here's an issue for the Dolphins. They better hope they win the AFC East so they can just kind of try their best to get through the playoffs at home. Because the minute that they have to win multiple games on the road, they're just not built for it.
And Tuatanga Veloa isn't built for it. He's a he's a small-er-ish quarterback. This is a guy who walked into Arrowhead last year in a beanie and a coat like he was just preparing to sit on the sidelines on the heater. It's like you already you already sent him the message to everybody. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's cold outside and I'm already feeling bothered and I got no shame in it. And he certainly played like it. So I feel bad for the Dolphins. There's a lot of teams in the NFL that are good enough to be good, but not good enough to get over the hump and be champions. And so eventually somebody has to win a championship not named Patrick Mahomes. But the Miami Dolphins, they would certainly not be on my list to do so. They're really, really going to have to work to win the division if they want to go ahead and move forward. Now, the football game going on right now in Brazil.
Green Bay in Philadelphia not necessarily showing Brazil our greatest export. Three to nothing right now towards the end of the first quarter. We just saw Jordan Love talking about all those passes Lamar Jackson missed yesterday. Jordan Love barely getting one in on Christian Watson. Green Bay is looking like they're going to have to settle for another field goal.
Twenty three yards. And so Green Bay is now taking the lead here. Six to nothing over Philadelphia. Three minutes to go in the first quarter. Look, I mean, it's Brazil, right? If the fans are going to know anything about football and the games, they're going to know how to kick the ball. And so Green Bay, the Packers certainly showing everybody what they can do. They lead six to nothing.
And from the perspective of the Philadelphia Eagles, it doesn't matter if they're in Brazil. They better put up. They should. They should win this game. I know it's early if they don't win this game. People in Philadelphia are still smelling the stink from last year when they got blown out by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when they finished the season like absolute hot garbage.
And Nick Sirianni had to get rid of his coordinators and bring in Kellen Moore and Vic Fangio, who I mentioned last year was with Miami. The eagle have to eagle have to get you out to leave the city. I don't know what else to tell you if they continue on the slide. I mean, we live in a what have you done for me world?
What have you done for me lately world? The last thing we've seen from the Eagles was a massive disappointment even last year as they started ten and one. Linebackers weren't healthy.
Defensive backs were getting cooked. And when you think about all the talent that they've been able to bring in up until this point, Saquon Barkley is supposed to make a difference. I know it's early in the game. Saquon Barkley, negative two yards rushing. OK, Jalen Hurts has already thrown an interception.
A.J. Brown doesn't have a reception. OK, still the first quarter. It's early. Philadelphia Eagles could just run around and say, oh, we're going to score on the next few possessions, but not not a good start. And they are already eagle fans online on the Internet who are just saying this this sucks. Can can we have a little bit of patience? The season for the Eagles and the Packers. The season isn't even a quarter old. Let's just pump our brakes just a little bit. Not that serious.
