It is the JR Sportbrief Show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. I'm coming to you live from Atlanta, Georgia. Thank you to everybody tuned in and locked in all over North America. I'm in Atlanta, whether you're here in Georgia or Florida. If you're in Tallahassee, my apologies for that crap football team you got to watch with Florida State.

If you're in California, good for you. If you're in Canada, hello friends. And shout outs to everybody. It don't matter where you're at, thank you for being here. I'm being joined by super producer and host Ryan Hickey. He's in New York City. And you, wherever you're at, whatever you're doing, I hope you're safe, I hope you're well, I hope you're good.

And if you're not, let's have some damn fun, okay? This show gets started every single weekday at 6 p.m. Eastern, 3 Pacific. How can you listen to every minute, every second, every hour? The free Odyssey app. It's free.

Yeah, I'm giving you something free. Go download it. You can always listen on your local Infinity Sports Network affiliate, it depends on where you live. If you got Sirius XM, it's channel 158. If you have a smart speaker, ask the speaker to play the Infinity Sports Network and boom, we pop right on up. We've had a fun show. The NFL is less than 24 hours away from starting its 2024 season.

And so we've been in full NFL mode. Yeah, we talked some college football, we talked Kaitlyn Clark, which by the way, Kaitlyn Clark just won another game. They beat Los Angeles in the Indiana Fever, improved their record to 18 and 16. They beat them 93 to 86 and Kaitlyn Clark continues to put up ridiculous numbers. She had a triple-double today. 24 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 3 steals. Aliyah Boston, 24 points. Kelsey Mitchell, 18 points. And Kaitlyn Clark keeps on rolling. This is great to watch. She has arrived, people.

Say something. Kicking everybody's ass now. Anyway, thank you so much to Matt Verteran for joining us to preview the upcoming NFL season. We know that things get started tomorrow in Kansas City as the Ravens visit the Chiefs.

And then we talked about this. The Eagles may not all want to go to Sao Paulo, Brazil, but that's where they'll be on Friday as the Eagles will take on the Green Bay Packers. The Eagles will be sacrificing a home game in that game down in Sao Paulo, which I had to I had to say, and this is still crazy.

This is all about eyeballs and exposure. Sao Paulo is the fourth most populated metropolitan area in the entire world. OK, fourth. New York City is the biggest American city at number 11, and so there's a reason the NFL is going to play football and leaving.

They want to make some noise, try to scoop up some money and plant some seeds on into the future. Of course, it is Wednesday. I shared with you a new top six list. Gave you a little bit of a preview for this upcoming season as to the teams that I think have the best chance of winning.

Of winning a championship hoisting the Vince Lombardi trophy. If you missed the full list, rewind free Odyssey app. Let me let me give you. A little taste without too much detail, and then I'm going to get to the phone lines 855212-4227.

That's 855212-4227. Here's the deal. Top six NFL teams in 2024 and number six. I gave you the Texans and number five. I gave you the Eagles and number four. I gave you the Ravens and number three. I gave you the Lions and number two. I gave you the 49ers and a number one. I gave you the team that's trying to repeat. Or three P I should say that's the Kansas City Chiefs and so teams that I had right on the outside that I did not rank. I'm just doing six.

I ain't figuring out who's eight, nine and 10. Y'all do that. I got the Packers, you know, kind of in that space. Buffalo Bills are kind of in that space. I don't think they've completely fallen off the face of the earth. I just think they've taken a step back.

I'm not I'm not all that enthusiastic. Hickey, have I have I missed the team? Is there any team that that comes to your mind that we haven't heard?

What are you thinking? The one team I'm surprised we've not heard so far, the Cincinnati Bengals. Right. I know Joe Burrow's been hurt last year and out of sight out of mind. When this guy is healthy, they win. Two full years he's played, they've gone to the Super Bowl and then went to the AFC title game. Look, I know you can't guarantee health and that's been a problem of his, but when he's healthy, they win and they win at a very high level. They're the only team right now that from a wins loss perspective and also a confident swagger perspective can match the Chiefs. They actually have, Joe Burrow's been successful against Patrick Mahomes.

He actually has the best record against him. Three and one. Yeah, I just, I want to see it.

That's it. When it comes to the other teams, I feel a little bit more comfortable. Jamar chased the situation that kind of pops up just a little bit. The injury to Burrow, the loss of, I think they'll be good. Can they go on a run?

Yeah, they can. I just got them on the outside looking in at my top six. They're in that same space with the Packers and the Bills. I got no faith in Miami. I know somebody sitting around in Florida.

What about, no, do something when it gets cold, please. It's real it's real simple. It's a, it's a team built on speed and finesse. It ain't built to punch nobody in the mouth. A matter of fact, speaking of speed, we know that the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs, they picked up some speed and Xavier Worthy, the biggest issue that they had last year was their offense. You think about Kelsey starting off late first year and forever that he didn't go over 1,000 yards.

He really picked it up more so late in the season. I want to go back to the beginning of training camp because Patrick Mahomes, who we'll see on the field tomorrow in the season opener, Patrick Mahomes made it very clear how we played last year offensively. It wasn't up to snuff. And this year we're looking to turn things around.

This is what he said to start training camp. I mean, obviously the end result was awesome, but I mean, I think a lot of us still have a weird feeling in our mouth because, I mean, we really didn't play the football the way we wanted to play all year long. And it wasn't fun. I mean, all the, every single week having to try to just continue to get better and better and results not paying off the way you wanted to.

It wasn't a lot of fun. We have a lot of those same guys back and they know how that felt. And so we're gonna try to prepare ourselves better this year so that we can play better throughout the season and obviously try to end with the same result. 855-212-4227. That's 855-212-4227. What are your thoughts? We had a lot of callers last hour, some chiming in on the Ravens, a couple of people on Buffalo. Oh, we got some more people from Buffalo.

Let's see what they have to say. Michael is calling from Buffalo. You're on the JR Sport Reshow. What's up? JR, how you doing my man? What's going on?

Excellent. What's on your mind? Well, so I've been listening to you for a while. Love the show, by the way.

Just want to say I was sitting at my office tonight. I was listening to your show on the phone and I overheard, you know, let me just put it like this. I've been a Bills fan for a very long time and I've taken the criticism all the time. But the last guy that was just on the line from Baltimore or whatever, really, really got underneath my skin a little bit. First off, McDermott is not a junk quarterback.

Does he make some bad, poor decisions? Sure. From here on, every now and then, for sure. But I think collectively, if you look over the past four years, I think the Bills have made it farther than the Ravens had every single time. And any time we've matched up against them, I think we've beaten them every time in the past maybe four years, excluding maybe one game. And then we also see them, what, week four. So we'll be in Baltimore. So we'll have to see what goes on when that time comes around.

But I think the Ravens have choked more than the Bills have over the years. But I'm just going to throw that one out there. Just wanted to say that that's all. Love the show. Go Bills.

Shout out to everybody in the 716. And I'll listen and let you respond to that. Well, thank you so much, Michael, for calling from Buffalo. Now, when you think about the most recent years, 2018, 2019, 2022. Let's keep in mind, Baltimore Ravens are still a relatively young franchise, all things considered. Buffalo does lead. Three to one.

Or excuse me. The Bills, they've actually taken the L's the past couple of years. The last time they played was twenty twenty two. They beat Baltimore twenty three to twenty. A couple of years before that. Now, Buffalo's taken that out.

That's that's misinformation there. I'll tell you this much. If I had a choice as to what I wanted to be or who I wanted to be today, I want to be Baltimore eight five five two one two forty two one two forty two twenty seven. Rick is also calling from Buffalo. You're on the J.R.

Sport Brief Show. Hi, how's it going? Very well, Bill. Or excuse me, Rick, what's up? Too many Ricks, Bills, Buffalos. Go ahead, Rick.

Great show. And I also want to chime in on the last clown that called from the Ravens. Let's just say that he is a clown. OK, OK. Now, Josh Allen is not a junk quarterback. And I'll tell you what, you know, Rick, we he didn't say Josh Allen was a junk quarterback. Well, when you say the organization is no, he was no. He was he called.

I want to be specific here. We know Josh Allen is a part of the organization. Obviously, he called the head coach McDermott junk. That's what he say. Not the quarterback. Go ahead. I think the only reason Lamar Jackson leads the league in rushing quarterback is because every time his first read isn't open, he has a hard time progressing and he just tucks the ball and runs.

So he can't read the defense very good. Rick, I will I will also say that if you wanted to make that point, I don't know, three years ago, four years ago, I think you might have something to argue. Well, hold on. No, Rick.

I mean, we got we got to be honest here. If you wanted to make that point, three or four years ago, I think you most certainly could. But there is no denying that Lamar Jackson has improved as a passing quarterback.

If you go ahead and improve. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. No, Rick, no, Rick, let's do no, Rick. No, Rick, Rick, I want to talk to this.

I put him on hold because he needs to learn how to shut up. Hey, Rick, I want to talk to you. Shut up. No, you shut up first. Shut up, Rick. And tell me something else.

Go ahead. Rick hung up. Yeah, I told the caller to shut up because I'm rude. I want to have a conversation with the guy. He's like, oh, no, he's like, go look at the numbers, man. The guy's an MVP.

He needs to progress past this. Hickey, he told me I have a great show. And then he told me a response to shut up.

What a guy. That was hilarious. You shut up.

It's been a long time since I've heard a caller tell a host to shut up. That was, that was fun. It was. It was fun. If people will tell me, yeah, you're mean, JR. And for me, it's hilarious.

The people will tell me equal is the same. No, but I really wanted to talk to the guy because if you're going to call, like, can we at least be honest about what's taking place to give me an argument from four years ago about how how bad of a first it starts off as, well, he can't read past his first progression. He just runs and tucks the ball. That's why he's the best Russian quarterback. How about this dude is probably the best Russian quarterback the NFL has ever seen. And I go as far to say that's beyond Michael Vick.

OK. And so out of all the years and we can go back as as far as you want to go back. Like this guy, let's bring it. Harkinsen. I mean, come on. Randall Cunningham. We could throw all the numbers out there. We've had Warren Moon. Let's go call Warren up. Bring Warren back. Lamar Jackson is only the leading rusher, the top rushing quarterback because he can't throw a football.

We're still there in twenty twenty four. Go look at the numbers. The guy has improved.

Give him his just due because one guy called up and he says the Buffalo Bills ass. Now we got to get into petty. Oh, well, that seems let's do better. Come on, man.

Can we do better than that? And Rick, I get the last word because it's my show. You shut up. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven is good to be back. Tony is calling from Birmingham. You're on the JR sport reshow. Go ahead, Tony.

Well, I love the show and I just want to say this to these Bill fans. The whole organization and I'm a lot older than a lot of these in a lot of these colors. You've never won anything. You flew four Super Bowls.

You blew a game with 13 circles. Well, you won't. There are two words. I tell people that they can choose.

You can choose activity or accomplishment. And the bills are all about activity and no accomplishments here. Well, damn. Well, here's some here's some good news for I guess Buffalo Bills fans who are adjacent.

The owner's daughter just upset Swiatak at the U.S. Open in the quarterfinals. I saw that a few minutes ago. But they are.

Oh, it doesn't matter. The problem with the league is too many people get caught up on activity and not accomplishment. I don't want to hear about Aaron Rodgers and four MVPs. That gets you in the Hall of Fame. One Super Bowl does not make you an all time great.

I need accomplishment and not all of this dead dumb activity. OK, go to. All right. Thank you, Tony, for calling from Birmingham. Damn, we got call is mad at each other. Call is mad at me because of the Buffalo Bills.

That's funny to me. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. Scott is calling from Oregon. You're on the general sport reshow. Go ahead, Scott. Hey, J.R., good show.

Thank you. What's up? I want to talk about the Buffalo Bill fans who just called in and getting upset and angry. I've been a Patriot fan all my life.

I'm 56 years old and we're in a down year right now. And I'm not going to get upset because, you know, we're we're going to lose this year. I mean, we don't have an offensive line. So so I think that's why they're not going to play, you know, Derek May.

And it's just it's just going to be, you know, they just got to learn to take a deep breath and not take things so seriously. Correct. Well, yeah, we know them Patriots going to be worse than them bills. We know that, too, Scott. We know that. Yeah, I agree 100 percent.

But, hey, the future looks right as long as they can keep their quarterback up right now. Well, that's what they say. Well, thank you, Scott.

You take it easy in Oregon, OK? All right. Thank you, sir.

No doubt about it. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. Let's go to Calgary in Alberta, Canada. Joelle is here with us. The J.R. support for you.

Show us up, Joelle. How's it going, J.R.? It's going very well. What's up? Nothing. I'm really enjoying the way these calls are coming out heated. Everyone's going to make it fun to listen to. I know. Yeah.

The first thing I'll start with. The one fan who is really grill and build fan talking about I'm a huge Packers fan. So talking about things, Aaron Rodgers, one Super Bowl doesn't make you an all time great. Well, I think it's more or less the way he played the game and transcended the position is what makes it one of the all time great. Dan Marino didn't get a ring.

And is he not one of the all time great? Yeah, I think there's other ways. There's other things that come into it.

Longevity. Everybody can't walk around with, you know, three and four, five and six and seven Super Bowls. Yeah. So and then the other thing I like how you've been talking recently, the few teams that you kind of see on this entire level on the mountain, working their way up. And you mentioned the Packers quite a bit with that. I think we can make some serious noise this year. I think one of the things they have is I mean, if you're a fantasy owner, it might not be the most thing to own some receivers on the Packers, but Watson. Yeah, I think that's well, yeah, I agree.

There's some. But I think you're looking at a team that potentially can have three or four guys with six to 700 yards and five touchdowns. And that's really hard to defend because now all of a sudden you got to really pick matchups against that team. And the way loves distributing the ball in its first year, in its rookie season, especially those last nine weeks. And then the way the defense takes it up.

I mean, I think you're looking at a team that's potentially top 10 in both sides of the ball. You've been listening to Coach LaFleur too much, huh? You've been listening to everything he says, Joel, huh?

We heard what he said about, oh, he said he's sick of everybody talking about the number one receiver. So we'll see. I think that certainly is going to be something that that takes them over the top. But here's the thing. When the going gets tough, you still want to be able to have that guy.

And Jordan Love knows who he wants that guy to be. But it's just a matter of whether that guy is going to be that guy when it matters come January. We'll find out soon. Joe, thank you for calling from Calgary.

I guess he ran into a deer and antelope or Sasquatch up there. I don't know. I know in Calgary, I'm afraid to look at what the weather is. I can imagine it's already. Let's see. And God is in the forties already Fahrenheit.

Oh, OK. Oh, OK. Damn. We can thank Mother Earth for this one. Sixty seven degrees in Calgary tomorrow. Eighty one is a high as 48 Fahrenheit tonight. Damn, it's going to be 90 on Sunday. Damn, it's not supposed to be that hot up there in Calgary.

Jeez. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. I'm going to get some more of your calls on the other side of the break as we talk about the top six NFL teams in twenty twenty four. And one of our callers, he mentioned Drake May standing upright. There's another rookie quarterback. Of course, he hasn't even played a game yet.

He's already been named a captain of his squad. We'll talk about it on the other side. Get some more of your calls. There's a lot to do.

A lot of people are happy and a lot of people are angry. I love it. It's the J.R. Sportbrief show, the Infinity Sports Network.

You're listening to the J.R. Sportbrief, the J.R. Sportbrief show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. Giving you my top six NFL teams in twenty twenty four. You missed the full list.

You go ahead and hit rewind on the Free Odyssey app. Number six, I gave you the Texans, five Eagles, four Ravens, three Lions, two forty niners, one the Kansas City Chiefs. A couple of teams kind of on the outside looking into my list and no particular order. They got a team like the Packers. Buffalo Bills are hanging out around there. Cincinnati Bengals. I think that's kind of the next teams up, you know, maybe right outside of that.

At that point, it don't matter. I think you start talking Miami Dolphins light it up in the regular season. Don't win nothing in the postseason.

Like eventually, Lamar Jackson has to get over the hump, right? Josh Allen, maybe they get in via wildcard. Maybe they win the division.

I don't know. The Jets are going to be competitive. Should. Dolphins will be competitive.

Should. You know, we got to see what happens. A lot of people, a lot of opinions about the bills this year.

Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. You know, we had one caller who mentioned the other team in the AFC East, the team that will not be discussed a whole lot this year unless they just suck. Well, they will suck. They won't get talked about because they suck. It's the New England Patriots. And so the New England Patriots, we know they got some some work to do.

But here's some positivity for another team with a rookie quarterback. Bo Nix has already been named a captain for the Denver Broncos. This man is the first rookie captain for the Denver Broncos since Floyd Little in nineteen sixty seven. Shout outs and rest in peace to Floyd Little, someone very familiar with with New York. He went to Syracuse, also one of my favorite people to talk to any and all the time.

God rest his soul. Let's go to Sean Payton and take a listen to what he said as to why Bo Nix, who's never thrown an NFL regular season pass, why he's being named the captain. You know, all of them voted on on these guys. And it's probably as clean a result that I'd seen in a while relative to those players that were all selected. But, you know, it's it's it's unusual for a rookie to get made a captain. And yet by nature, that position to some degree is leading.

And so that was something that I think organically takes place throughout the spring and training camp and, you know, goes from there. Well, I mean, the guy is is going to be twenty five soon. I mean, damn it, he's probably older than everybody else on the roster being a jerk, but that's that's good. I don't know if that's going to make a difference in the standings.

I mean, if the Broncos get past, I don't know, five wins, I think that'd be a minor miracle. Congratulations as well to Patrick Sertan, the son of Patrick Sertan, with that new contract he got four years, ninety six million dollars. We know AJ Terrell of the Falcons got a 20 million dollar deal per year. Jair Alexander with the Packers.

He's making 21. Patrick Sertan said, here, folks, just hold my lunch. And if you want to go out to lunch, make either one of them three, pay for it. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. Mark is calling from Nova Scotia. You're on the chair.

Our sport ratio. Go ahead, Mark. Oh, oh, hey, Jair. I mean, good for Patrick Sertan, but I I almost dozed off here and Sean Payton talk there anyway.

Not the most dynamic guy in the world. So I want to talk about my New Year's resolutions and I hope you can bear with me. I'll be quick. I made two big ones, two, really. The first one was to cut down on the fried foods and stuff I made to like, I don't know, March. And the second was to try to be a little bit nicer to Buffalo Bills fans. But I can't do it.

I can't do it. And I I like Buffalo. I actually like the bills. I like Josh Allen.

And, you know, like I've been watching football since, I don't know, like the late 80s. I like Jim Kelly, Thurman Thompson. All those guys are great. They're great. I just there's something wrong with their fan base. Oh, there's something wrong with their fan base.

Oh, OK. They just like and like I'm really trying to be a compassionate guy like and there's actually a lot of them here, like in Nova Scotia. It's mostly Patriots fans. They're they're bad for a whole bad for a whole other reason. I don't want to get into. But like they just don't understand reality like every single year they're going to win the Super Bowl every single year. This is the year where, you know, finally, you know, I'm not going to go to. Are you are you are you confusing the Buffalo Bills with the Dallas Cowboys was a different type of pain?

I think it's the same type of pain, but at least Dallas has actually won some Super Bowls. OK. All right, Mark, you're opening up old wounds. OK, let's. I know. I'm so sorry. Thank you. Well, thank you for calling from Nova Scotia. OK. Everybody wants to dump on them, you know, from the late 80s and 90s. Damn.

Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. Brad is calling from Buffalo. You're on the JR sport. We sure got Brad.

Hey, I feel like I just got set up right there with that. But what is going on with the Buffalo Hey, man. You tell me, why do why do people feel so strongly about the bills?

I have no idea. A small market team that arguably has the best fans just trying to survive in the cold. Just trying to survive in the cold and watch football. People have to hate on us from the from the four years we went to the Super Bowl. It's just unbelievable. Well, there was that guy. He hated me and then he told me to shut up. And then he also hated Lamar Jackson. So, I mean, that there's him as well.

I mean, he was against Baltimore. Right. Right.

Hey, you know what I do? Hey, JR, is these PSL or PSL tickets for the new stadium. I've heard you what it is.

Absolutely a scam, man. And we're looking at, you know, 50 yard line. We've had seasons for seventy five years and 15 grand. You have them for 30 years.

They're not even for other events. It's just it's just unbelievable. Well, they're going to be asking everybody in Buffalo to shovel more of the snow for the PSL ticket holders. Wait, wait on that one. This is how it goes. Is that is that you're not going to tell me that that is a publicly financed stadium, is it? Oh, you already know it.

Oh, my God. Let me ask you this. Have you ever been to a Bills game? No, I go up to Rochester and I refuse to go west.

Well, you got to stay at that. I stay at what is a Genesee Brewery. That's a good spot.

Yeah, that's why I hang out. You don't have enough. You don't have enough beer at whatever name stadium. What is it still new? Where is it, Rob? What is it called now?

It's high market now. Oh, yeah, yeah, OK. All right. Yeah. Well, get out there.

Experience will change you. Let me know when they put a brewery in the new stadium that's being built. They got space. Hey, there's a there's a couple other breweries downtown. I can help you out if you come into town. All right. Thank you, Brad.

I like I like a triple, not no double. Hey, thank you. Appreciate you, man. Hey, have a good night.

No doubt about it. Brad from but Hickey, we got to go to Buffalo now. Come on. I'm in. Yeah, let's go. Hey, Marco Baleta, you want to go to Buffalo now? Sure.

What the hell? Why not? We have to go in January when it's snowing a couple of feet. I'm not driving in the snow. You get me there and it snows when we're there. Like cold. I don't mind, but I'm not going.

I'm not driving through the snow. I'm not doing that. Too much of that.

Oh, OK. All right, Marco Baleta. Hey, there's got to be limits and lines, J.R., that's you hit the line. I'm not I've done enough of that.

Driving through 24 inches, trying to in a cavalier's getting all over the place. No, no, no, no. I'm good. Thank you. All right.

A cavalier. OK. I had a couple of them. Yeah, I hear you. Yeah. Melvin is calling from New Orleans. You're on the J.R. sport. Go ahead, Melvin. Yes, the question is the New Orleans Saints, are they going to go here to the playoffs this year to renovate the Superdome? Melvin, you can't you can't even ask me that question.

You can't even ask me that question being serious. Come on, Melvin. Yes, I am, too. I love the words. I love them, too.

I love it. I love the city. I love Chappa Tula Street. I love Canal Street.

I like the hotel, the fancy hotel across the street. I like the Saints, too. I like them. I like their fans. I like the food. I like the Central Park. I like everything about Louisiana. Some things. And I like a lot of things about New Orleans. But I'll tell you this much. Now, you know, the folks down there don't even like the Saints right now.

Come on. Why are you telling these jokes? How many games do you think the Saints are winning this year? Ten. Ten? Yes, I'm pretty good with ten.

Here's a better question. How many games do you think the Panthers are going to win? Five. Oh, OK. And so I guess Atlanta and Tampa, they're just going to be whatever, too. They win ten.

Everybody in the NFC South wins ten games. Melvin, call me back in a couple of weeks, OK? Great.

OK, I would do that. Appreciate you, man. Always love it. You couldn't even hit ten games. And Derek Carr going to turn into Peyton Manning.

Am I missing something? Alvin Kamara is past his prime. I mean, goodness gracious. They're going to be waiting to fire everybody soon in New Orleans to have a party for it. 855-212-4227. The phone line's open if you want to give me a holler when we come back on the other side. I'll talk to you before we get ready to roll out. Of course, I'm going to roll into a few things that took place this day in sports history. I promise no one will call and say anything negative about the bills.

I promise. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief. It's the JR Sport Brief Show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. I need you to thank O'Reilly Auto Parts for all of your car care needs. Get guaranteed low prices and excellent customer service from the professional parts people at O'Reilly Auto Parts. 855-212-4227.

That's 855-212-4227. You know, amongst all of the callers about the Buffalo Bills, they'll be good. They'll be bad.

Whatever the case might be. I did tell you at the top of the hour, we have some positivity involving the Buffalo Bills without a shadow of a doubt. Because we learned that DeMar Hamlin is going to go ahead and start this season. He's had to deal with some injuries. Well, not he's had to deal with some injuries. The Buffalo Bills have had to deal with some injuries at the safety position, even with the new players in what else is new. And so DeMar Hamlin is going to get the go ahead.

And for a man, it's kind of crazy kind of crazy to think about it. It's almost two years. Remember, that was like a day after New Year's that he collapsed out on that field, pulling up on two years, the knowing that the fact that he's going to get a full start last year only started a few games at the end of the season. When DeMar Hamlin spoke to the media and he says, oh, I think about what happened all the time. It helps move me forward. It drives me.

Listen to what DeMar Hamlin had to say. You know, I reflect back on the whole process and, you know, not knowing if I would even be able to play again, you know, sitting in that uncertainty was like eating at me. You know, it was it was really eating at me because football is truly my passion. You know, it's the thing that I've always been obsessed with my entire life. So, you know, just sitting back and thinking all the way back then. But, you know, it just all goes to the power of being process oriented and taking things one day at a time and accepting where you are at each moment of the process.

You know, it truly allows you to, you know, conquer anything of what you're facing. Good for him. See, there's some positivity. I told you, we're not going to have no more Buffalo negativity. And we didn't we only have one guy. Hickey, it was one guy. One guy called up and he he took that guy sitting around just twiddling his fingers, listening to everything he caused. One guy took a dump on the Buffalo Bills and then a couple of people got mad at him and then other people got mad at the Buffalo people for responding. And then here we are. Here we are. He knew what he was doing.

He brought himself a little, you know, bucket of gasoline, poured it on, let the match dropped it, walked away and now is watching the mess he created. It's fun. It's fun, fun stuff.

855-212-4227. You know what? Let's take a few. Let's take a look at a few things that took place this day in sports history.

Let's get to more of your calls and then let's roll out. Back in the days when I was young, I'm not a kid anymore, but some days I sit and wish I was a kid again. It's time for this day in sports history. You see, back in those days we had radio and you couldn't see anything and it was primitive and lousy and we did it on the J.R. Sport Brief Show.

I wish I was 50 years younger and I'd kick your ass. It is the J.R. Sport Brief Show here on the Infinity Sports Network. We're going back in history. Today is September 4th.

The year is 2024, less than 24 hours away from the start of the 2024 NFL season. But if we go back this day, September 4th and 1993, Jim Abbott, an inspiration to all. One arm. This man went out there and threw a no hitter. He did it against Cleveland. Nine innings pitched, only three strikeouts. Take a listen, courtesy of Major League Baseball.

And the ground ball is short. Bernardi. He did it. He did it. No hitter for Jim Abbott. Jim Abbott throws a no hitter and shuts out the Cleveland Indians for nothing. I still think that's one of the best, greatest achievements that I've ever seen, will ever see in sports. Really proof that you can do whatever the hell it is that you want to see, especially Paralympics are going on.

It's amazing. But September 4th, 1994, just a year later, some guy named Dan Marino. He decided to throw five touchdowns. This man totaled 300th, only the second guy to do it at the time. He threw that touchdown pass to Keith Jackson.

Listen, courtesy of NBC. New England loss is always a good thing. Miami beat him 39-35. September 4th, 2005, Kyle Busch. He became the youngest driver to win the NASCAR Cup Series. This is courtesy of NASCAR. Through turns three and four. Tomorrow, the headlines will say Busch won a California.

Here it is. But it'll be Kyle Busch. Kyle Busch wins a California.

Kyle Busch is the youngest winner in the history of the NASCAR Next Tell Cup Series. It sounds like a swarm of bees. September 4th, 2010, DeMarco Murray, the recently suspended one game DeMarco Murray. Don't don't talk to kids. You're not supposed to don't talk to recruits.

You're not supposed to. DeMarco Murray rushed for two hundred and eighty yards. Oklahoma. They won their eighth hundredth game as a program. This is courtesy of Fox Sports. Second and ten running room this time for DeMarco Murray down the sideline.

He may go. He does go touchdown Oklahoma on second and nine getting to the outside. It's a two hundred yard game for DeMarco Murray. And it is eight hundred all time wins for the Oklahoma Sooner program. It's one hundred sixteen years of Oklahoma football now. That's a long ass start. What else happened? September 4th.

I got to hurry up. Hey, J.D. Martinez. This man hit four home runs in the game versus the Dodgers. They beat the well, the Diamondbacks beat him thirteen and nothing. Now that's an ass whoop.

And listen to this. Martinez high fly ball, deep left center. And there it goes. J.D. Martinez is thirty first and it's two nothing Diamondbacks.

Martinez hits it high in the air. Deep right field. And that one is gone. J.D. It stands for just Dingers. That's number thirty two. And it's three nothing Diamondbacks. Fly ball right field.

There it goes. J.D. Martinez. That's his third home run in three at bats. J.D. Martinez. Is it four?

It's gone. J.D. Martinez homers in four consecutive plate appearances at Dodger Stadium. Congratulations to him right now.

He's a he's a New York Met. Good for him. I think he just had a kid right now.

What happened? Yes, he did. Congratulations to the family. What's a greater accomplishment, having another kid and hitting four home runs in a game, four home runs in a game. OK, anybody can have kids, right? That's right. Some people, some some people, most people, a lot of people.

Anyway, those are a few things that took place this day in sports history when it came down to Oklahoma, when DeMarco was a player and before he was a cheater or at least not or content. What do you do? Contact the recruit when he wasn't supposed to. Something like that.

Something probably, you know, very simple and very easy. And speaking of cheaters, this guy's really a cheater. Yannick's center is winning versus Daniel Medvedev right now. Six to two.

They move in the second set right now. Cheating center. What a name.

Yannick center. Anyway, let's go. Jason, you got 10 seconds. What's on your mind?

Yes. Just want to remind you, last time Baltimore played Buffalo, Baltimore was up 20 to three at halftime and Lamar Jackson choked it away. And the bills came back and won twenty three twenty. Hey, he got the last word there.
