It's that time of year. Cash the Ticket.

Jim Costa with Mike Valenny. We shift the focus from football to college hoops. Playing that system that's not a system but sure plays like a system leading up to the tournament. We're looking for that value with the daily dimes. We look for the gross lines.

Getting us ready for the tournament where we're going to break down all the matchups and have an eye on some future plays too. This time of year, baby. Search Cash the Ticket on the Odyssey app or wherever you get your podcasts.

It is. The J.R. sport re-show here on CBS Sports Radio. Coming to you live, not today from Atlanta, Georgia. Coming to you live from New York City. Joining me on the other side of the glasses, super producer and host, Ryan Hickey.

Thank you so much to everybody tuned in and locked in all over North America. There's so many ways that you can listen. The free Odyssey app, your local CBS Sports Radio affiliate. Google it. You can also tune in on Sirius XM Channel 158.

You got Sirius? Good. If you're a truck driver, great.

Hi, truck drivers. You can just listen and go coast to coast, state to state. Congratulations. Listen on the smart speaker.

Ask it to play CBS Sports Radio. It's nice. Nice to be here in New York. Nice to breathe in the pollution. I love it.

Happy to be home. Anyway, if you want to participate in the show, it's real simple. The phone number is 855-212-4CBS. That's 855-212-4CBS. It is ingrained in my brain. The phone number.

It's also posted on many walls here in this studio. I can't forget it. Me?

I'm online. 855-212-4CBS won't do the job when I leave here. But you can contact me on social media at JR Sport Brief. It's no different than, hey, Hickey, by the way, when I got here and I went to baggage claim, I went to baggage claim and the guy's like, hey, you're JR from YouTube. I go, yeah, yeah, that's me. It was nice. That is cool. Wow. Celebrity recognition. Look at you.

It's fine. Celebrity recognition. In a city that you're supposed to blend in. Supposed to.

Right? I mean, how many celebrities are in New York City? You're supposed to just kind of be one with the people.

You can't even get through the airport without getting flagged out. No, it's because I'm a working man. People know I've been on the Internet long enough, right? I'm a working man. The guy, he's doing security. What else is he doing?

He's sitting there watching YouTube. Who's on YouTube? Well, me at the time.

It's just it's all over the place. So shout outs to all the hard working ass people out there getting money. I ain't no different.

No celebrity. Just a hard working ass man. They make me come here. They let me upstairs.

They tell me to sit down and I talk. I try to have fun. Anyway, we've had fun so far tonight.

We've gone through a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot. Right before the break, we talked about Bill Belichick. We got, you know, Gerard Mayo going, no, no, no, I'm changing things, but it's not a shot at Belichick. I don't have to be, man.

You do things your own way. Belichick doesn't care. I feel like you got a lot of folks in the media right now who are just trying to beat up on Bill Belichick.

Give him a break. Also, this afternoon, we learned that Kaitlyn Clark, she made an announcement on social media. She's going pro, which in the case of women's basketball is not necessarily the most lucrative of things. OK. She's probably flying on private jets and limousine ride and they're giving her the Ric Flair treatment. By the time she gets the WNBA, Motel six.

Not just being a jerk. Maybe the Marriott. I don't know if the WNBA players. Hickey, you think they put in the WNBA players up at the four seasons? I hope they deserve it. You hope four seasons is nice. No, it's very nice.

Four seasons is very nice. They put all the NBA players four season all the time. I think they deserve it. But do you think the WNBA players are getting a force? I guess that's a different question. Do they versus deserve it?

Do they? No. Maybe the Holiday Inn. Oh, crap. Oh, wow. It's solid. It's solid.

Holiday Inn's a good bang for your buck. Man, I've seen WNBA legends getting ready to go play a game, walking through the airport like me. I'm like, hey, you want me to you want me to carry your bags? I can't see. And I get it.

How much money one league makes versus another. It just does not make logistical sense. I just can't see. Not that he's hurt by it. I can't see Trae Young walking through the airport and, you know, just, hey, Trae, you got a connected flight to go play the Knicks. Yeah, man, I had to make a stop in Charlotte on my way up. So, you know, like, no, no. Anyway, Kaitlyn Clark, a little bit of a downgrade in lifestyle going from college to the WNBA.

But at least the competition level will be better. Congratulations, Kaitlyn Clark. Likely to be selected or will be selected number one overall by by the Indiana.

A fever, which is nice. Dan Olofsky gave us some interesting commentary about the quarterbacks in a draft. He believes that Jayden Daniels is going to be a better quarterback than Caleb Williams. He might be right. I don't know why he would make that judgment. I guess he's just looking at this past year. We have some prospects who don't believe in outer space. They don't believe in science.

Good for them. I guess the league, all they care about is that they they like football. We talked about the Lakers. LeBron James.

What a guy. LeBron James, a huge comeback last night against the Clippers. LeBron is now only 40 points away.

From 40,000 in his career, the only NBA player who, if he gets it, is going to end up with 40,000. The Lakers are in action tonight against those miserable Washington Wizards. So we don't know if he'll even play the entire game. The Lakers play the Nuggets on Saturday night, nationally televised game on ESPN. We talked about college football and college basketball and the college playoff potentially expanding on a football side to 14 teams, even though we didn't even play the 12 team yet.

And so we have so much more to do in a few minutes. I want to talk to you all about Joel Embiid. Yes, Joel Embiid says he wants to come back.

Joel Embiid says he wants to return. I'm going to talk with you about Jared Jones. Jared Jones and the news for some of the worst reasons possible. You're going to have to call Maury Povich, Isaiah Stewart. I guess this is right for Maury, too.

Isaiah Stewart apologized for punching another dude in the face. Hey, we might have to do a Jerry segment. Well, not Jerry Springer, Maury Povich and Jerry Springer. And McCole Hartman. Last night I told you he's a snitch.

He's a rat. Well, looks like we got a little bit more of an update as it relates to to that man. So we got a lot of things to discuss as we continue on. 855-212-4CBS. That's 855-212-4CBS. Let's talk to Jacob. Jacob is calling to Atlanta.

We're calling from Atlanta. You're on the JR Sport. What's up, Jacob?

What's up? I've been following Jalen Johnson for a long time on the Hawks. How good do you think he is?

I think the forward for the Hawks with the hair. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I think he's good. I see him.

You living at eight. I'm in it. Well, I'm not in Atlanta now. You go to the arena. Yeah, I've been there a couple of times.

Oh, lovely. The next time you go to the arena, just I don't know how you find me amongst 20,000 people, but I go a lot. And Jalen Johnson is probably the most exciting player on the Hawks besides Trae Young. I think Jalen Johnson, do I think he's going to be a multiple time All-Star?

No. But I think he has raw All-Star talent. I think he could be a starting small forward on a winning team. I think once he develops more of his shot and can get more of his own shot, I think he can be pretty damn awesome. I like him a lot. What do you think about him?

I think he is good. I just want to see for him to hit more threes. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, a lot of times younger players come into the league and they develop a three point shot a little bit later on.

But now that John Collins is gone and he's getting more chances and opportunities, I think you might see a little bit of an improvement with his shooting. Give it some time, Jacob. OK, how old are you? Twelve.

Congratulations on being twelve. What did you do? Did you did something like go to school today, right? Yep.

I'm going to ask you a dad question. You ready for this? Yep. I like. Yep. What did you learn in school today?

Today, I learned the science about the water cycle, how it goes up into the sky. Yeah. It goes down.

And rain. Yep. Now let me ask you a question. And don't go anywhere, Jacob.

This is very important here. Did they teach you about the planets? Not yet. I think we're into the next. Oh, what is it?

What's going to be next? Planets. You believe in you. You understand we have planets, right? You know that, right? Yep. OK. Name name a planet besides Earth. Mars. My man. Yeah.

Congratulations. Well, always believe that we got a lot of planets. I think there's I think officially there's eight of them. I think when I was in school, there were nine planets. I think now they called Pluto an ice rock.

But to me, it always be a planet. Hey, Jacob, you call me anytime, OK? Gotcha. All right.

Have a good night. What's for dinner? Dinner.

You don't know? Burgers. Oh, yes. Burgers for dinner. I enjoy the burgers and have. Well, just have one for me.

I don't want to encourage poor eating habits. OK, have one. OK, gotcha. Have a good night, Jacob. Talk to you later. You too. Bye.

Bye bye, bro. Yep. Yep. I'm glad he's he's he's learning about the planets, right?

That's good. He knew he he know he acknowledges that there's that they are planets. He named one Mars.

That's everybody's favorite planet, I guess, because of proximity. Right. I think. Right. Are they like the next closest planet to us? Yeah, they are right. We're three and Mars is four.

Yeah. With third rock from the sun in their fourth. And they pray far as hell to man. Jupiter is out there. It's so big.

See, I know Jupiter is the biggest planet. Is what do they call it? It's gaseous, right?

Is gaseous, gaseous. That's that's it. You know what?

I'll be honest. A lot of the planet's information has gone out of my brain. Yeah. Jupiter is gas. I know that. No, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Yeah.

Jupiter is the big one. Yes. They got a big old ring to it, too. Right.

That's crazy. Saturn has a bunch of rings. Uh huh. Mercury is that no. Mercury is closer to the sun. Mercury is closer. Yeah. Venus is before us. Yes.

So it's Mercury, Venus, Earth. Me and you. Me and you could teach one of these classes out here. Maybe Texas Tech has got to give us a call. Yeah. Maybe we can give a speech to the football team. Yeah. Let's let while we while we're talking. This is why I asked the young man about this. We know the NFL combine is going on.

Tyler Owens, defensive back out of Texas Tech. He was asked about space and all this stuff. And he's just like, I don't believe in space. He attributed part of it to religion. I don't know what religion he talking about. And then he said something about the earth being flat.

Listen. I don't believe in space. I'm like, you know, power of religion. So I think, like, we're just like other planets and stuff like that. What led you to that point to believe that? Well, like, I really, I thought I used to believe in, like, helium and everything.

Like, he used to borrow everything and stuff. But then, like, I started seeing, like, flat earth stuff. And I was like, that was the current kind of thing. And they started bringing up valid points. I don't know.

Could be real. Yeah, well, I'm happy my friend from Atlanta, at least he understands that there is there are other planets besides Earth. So I believe the children are our future.

Teach them well and let them lead the way. Anyway, this man, I said this before, I'll say it again. Tyler Owens will be an excellent, excellent defensive back in the NFL. He doesn't know how many planets there are.

He doesn't even believe in the planets. Exactly what I want from a football player. Go tackle somebody. Go hit somebody. I don't need you to think about anything outside the universe.

Matter of fact, I don't need you to think about anything outside of the football field. It's simple as that. 855-212-4CBS. That's 855-212-4CBS. This portion of the show is brought to you by Wesley Financial. Are you stuck in a timeshare and want out?

Contact Wesley Financial Group now and get a free timeshare exit information kit at Wesley Financial Group dot com. You're listening to the J.R. sport re-show here with you on CBS Sports Radio. Hey, we're going to take a break. And when we come back on the other side, I mentioned to you Joel Embiid. And the fact is, Joel Embiid is always hurt. Joel Embiid is hurt right now, or at least he's recovering. And Joel Embiid says, I don't care what's going on the rest of the season.

I'm going to come back. And then I'm going to come back and play for the Sixers. And then I'm going to play for Team USA basketball in the Olympics.

And I'm like, what? You? Your body can't handle the NBA and you're not going to take a summer off?

You're going to play in the Olympics? OK, Joel Embiid, we're going to hear from him because he has spoken for the first time since his surgery, since his procedure. We'll hear from Embiid on the other side of the break. We'll talk about that. Get into Damian Lillard. Antonio Pierce had some words about what he's looking for in a quarterback.

We have so much to do. Oh, yeah. And it's Jerry Jones and his potential child. Yes, you heard me correctly. It's the JR Sportbrief show on CBS Sports Radio. Subscribe and soak in baseball have been boring. Listen on your Odyssey app or wherever you get your podcasts. You'll be glad you did. You're listening to the JR Sportbrief on CBS Sports Radio.

It's the JR Sportbrief show here on CBS Sports Radio, man. I'm disappointed. This is a good problem to have.

It's not even a problem. I want to talk about Joel Embiid and his statement today. And who's. Well, let me let me relax.

Let me. Oh, that's that's. Hey, what's that guy on the Pistons?

Jaden Ivey. That's his name, right? Yes. Yes, sir. OK. I see his mother coaches on Notre Dame. I will leave it at that.

8 5 5 2 1 2 4 CBS has 8 5 5. Hey, we got so many screens in here. I look up. I go. Oh, that's his mother. Yes. We all love moms.

Who doesn't love mothers? Big game for that Vatek. Is that well, Notre Dame, Notre Dame Vatek.

That's like a top 20 matchup right there. I thought she coached somewhere else. That's why I was a little surprised.

I didn't know she coached Notre Dame. Listen, I haven't seen what the sun is doing. Who watches the Pistons? Not me.

Not me. 8 5 5 2 1 2 4 CBS. I'm going to get to the calls.

We got quite a few calls here. I did not forget Joel Embiid. You know, we may talk. We may get to Joel Embiid at the top of the hour.

You know, so let's see. Also, next hour, we have Blake Hornstein joining us. He covers all things Iowa Hawkeyes out at WHB for. We're going to talk about Kaitlyn Clark, but I'm going to talk to you right now because you all are calling me and I'm not going to disrespect you. I'm going to get you on the phone lines because the show ain't just about me.

It's about you. There is no show without you. 8 5 5 2 1 2 4 CBS. Let's go to Ohio and talk to Chris.

Hey, Chris, you're on the JR Sportbree show here on CBS Sports Radio. What's up? I'm sorry. Let me let me take you up. Hey, yeah, that Notre Dame woman's head coach. Hey, hey, hey, hey. Be careful now.

Go ahead. No, no, no, no. That Notre Dame woman's head coach. She's a looker.

I don't know what you're talking about. Mrs. Ivy. Yeah. OK. Yeah, she's a looker. But I just wanted to say thank you for taking my call. I enjoy calling in.

I don't do it often. But when you brought her up because I've looked her up. I googled her.

She's a looker. So you go ahead, man. Go on with this show. I'm not. I appreciate it. Listen, I didn't ask you any questions about what you Google and what you do when you Google.

But thank you for sharing. OK. Do you have anything else that you would like to contribute while you're here on the air? You're in Kansas City, right? Excuse me. You're in Kansas City? No, I am based in Atlanta, Georgia, in New York. Oh, you're in Atlanta. My bad.

OK. And right now, I'm in New York. Pick one. Yes. Yeah. Atlanta, what do you think is going to happen going forward with that quarterback surge? What do you mean for the Atlanta Falcons?

Yes. I think that they're either going to end up with Mr. Fields or Mr. Wilson. That would be both of them would be interesting. I don't know how that's going to work. One is a potential longer term option and the other one is a shorter term option.

That's just basically what it is. One has more experience and one has less experience and needs to develop. One is probably on the downside and still has some juice.

The other one, he hasn't scratched the surface. And I'm in Ohio. I'm in eastern Ohio. OK, so I'm stuck between Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Oh, they're talking Pittsburgh.

Geography. Is Russell Wilson coming to Pittsburgh? What are your thoughts?

Well, there's there's quite a few. I've also heard about potentially Justin Fields going to Pittsburgh. So, look, they all can't play in multiple spots. So we just got to wait and see. I know Kenny Pickett ain't going to be there, OK?

Is that your call? Pickett won't be there? What about Rudolph? Oh, Mason? Well, look, one of them one of them is probably going to be there, but they ain't going to be playing. Come on.

Look, I don't know. I'm not a Stiller fan. I'm a Browns fan. Oh, well, I just get to be part of the conversation and hear what's going on. What do you think your quarterback is doing right now?

Which for the Browns? Yeah. What do you think? If he ain't rehabbing, I don't know what he's doing. Oh, he's rehabbing. I'm sure he's rehabbing.

OK. Yeah, rehabbing. I don't even know who the backup is going to be. You know, here in Cleveland, everybody wants Flacco to be the backup. Flacco is going to look for a starting job somewhere.

OK. And I believe that 100 percent. I know what Joe Flacco is doing. He's a grown man with a lot of kids. So he ain't rehabbing.

He got he got better things to do and better places to be than Deshaun Watson. Hey, Chris. Yeah, behind you. You're absolutely right. Hey, another something else you have.

Go ahead. Finish. Maybe Flacco could end up in Pittsburgh. You know, who knows? That would be a rough one right there between Pittsburgh and Baltimore.

I heard Joe Flacco is his lifelong dream to try to play for every NFL franchise. So he got a ways to go. Hey, Chris, thank you for calling from Ohio. OK. No problem, man. You have a good evening, man. Thank you. You as well. Thank you, Chris, for letting us know that you Google NBA players, mom.

And I'll let you do what you do when you do it. Eight five five two one two four CBS. Let's go to Alabama and talk to Ryan. You're on the J.R. sport.

What's up, Ryan? Hey, man, I wanted to talk about this debate people got going on at the Jordan and LeBron debate. And I just want to set the record straight from a 24 year old's perspective. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. So you were in you were basically in diapers when LeBron started, right? Yeah. And then you've never seen you've never seen Michael Jordan play, right?

Well, you know, they have all these videos. OK, so. So, OK, so you never saw Michael Jordan play live and you were in diapers when LeBron started. But set the record straight. Let us know.

OK. So the way I see stats, you know, is it's just taken LeBron this long and he still can't do what he needs to. And, you know, I'm just on the side of Michael Jordan like the man at the league came back and one another three straight. I don't know. I can't I can't see why people don't see that. You know, they just see that he's gotten all these stats. But in my eyes, I just think, well, you got you got all these stats.

But you ain't you ain't got the purpose of what you, you know, play the game for the chance. So if LeBron James, you know, by the way, he's not done yet. So let me ask you this. If LeBron James wins two more championships, then would you say he was bigger, better than Michael Jordan? He's on the Mount Rushmore. You can't you can't do that.

It's just illegal in my eyes. Like, OK, you know, who's the greatest. And then, you know, who's your top five all time? All right.

Well, I'm going to I'm going to leave you on the line so you can hear this from me. Now, I was alive when Michael Jordan played. So I came into existence in diapers, kind of sort of like the way you did LeBron. But I was old enough to see and remember Michael Jordan in his prime in the 90s. OK. And then as a result, I've also seen all of LeBron James.

I've seen his entire career. I will tell you, I believe just as just from a talent perspective, if you ask me today, if we went into just the magical time machine and it was Michael Jordan here and it was LeBron James, you know, which one would you pick? I would say I would take Michael Jordan because Michael Jordan was just a straight killer. Michael Jordan was a basketball assassin. Now, having said that, LeBron James, I believe, is probably the best overall player that we've seen in the NBA. Now, all around us, definitely.

Yes. Now, I'll also say this. There are things that Michael Jordan has that LeBron doesn't. OK, there are things LeBron James has accomplished that Michael Jordan has not. It's going to be real tough if you want to ever because there's different arguments here. If you ever want to have a thought out of your brain about whose career was better or what have you and this and that. It's going to be tough for me to say Michael Jordan if LeBron James wins two more titles.

Do I think it's going to happen? I don't think so. I think LeBron, if he can get one more, good on him. But people are stupid. They will hear different things. LeBron James, all things considered, when he's done, he might have a more decorated career than Michael Jordan. But if you want to look at the rings and the titles, then yes.

But overall, as a player, I'm going with Michael Jordan over LeBron. And I've said this quite frequently and thank you, Ryan, for calling from Alabama. I don't know.

He driving in the car, chopping wood and building a house all at the same time. Thank you, Ryan. The fact, though, is, man, I say this quite frequently. Greatness comes in different forms, in different eras, in different generations. And it's hard to look at one era and just slap it on another one. I mean, if we just are going to count championships in ages, Bill Russell. But every era is different and you've got to respect greatness. But I do believe that Michael Jordan and LeBron James are close enough in regards to eras where you can look at it.

But the style has been different. It's it's a fun conversation to have. But people people go overboard because it's one thing to say, well, who is the better player? Who would you start a team with? Who had the better career? Are you measuring it by championships, longevity points?

Those are all things. I mean, could Michael Jordan play as long as on had, you know, given the style of play? I'm not so sure. Michael Jordan got beat up at the beginning of his career. Michael Jordan went to play baseball and came back and we saw Michael Jordan come back as a 40 year old. He was putting up 20 points a game, which at that point was like the equivalent. Now, like twenty five.

I mean, it's it's very different. You got to appreciate greatness for what it is and what it's worth for that. Let's see how LeBron James career. Let's see how it ends. Eight, five, five, two, one, two for CBS.

That's eight, five, five, two, one, two for CBS. We're going to talk about Joel Embiid at the top of the hour. I'm going to get some more of your calls on the next break. I do want you to hear from Antonio Pierce. He is looking for his franchise star, his franchise guy. We'll talk about him.

There's so much that we need to do. You are listening to the J.R. Sport Brief on CBS Sports Radio.

It is the J.R. Sport Brief show here with you on CBS Sports Radio. Eight, five, five, two, one, two, four. CBS is the number.

That's eight, five, five, two, one, two, four. CBS at the top of the hour. We're going to talk about Joel Embiid. We're going to have a conversation next hour with Blake Hornstein covers the Iowa Hawkeyes. Kaitlyn Clark is going pro. We got some news on Mr. Jerry Jones. Jared Jones might have a baby. I'm not joking. I'm not lying.

This is a legitimate story. Cristiano Ronaldo for my international football fans. He got suspended for, well, he made a gesture that might imply having a baby or something else. We got a lot to do on all sports. And anyway, also, by the way, Antonio Pierce, new head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, he's made it very clear that he wants a quarterback who can help them win. What a shock.

What a surprise. The Raiders are going to have to figure out a way to move up in the draft. They selected number 13 overall. I don't know if Aidan O'Connell is going to get the job done. But after watching Aidan O'Connell and even thinking about the football corpse of Jimmy Garoppolo, I would also think that, yes, of course, you want a quarterback, A, who can be healthy enough to step out onto the field. He's like, hey, we got Patrick Mahomes in our division. We also got this other guy, Justin Herbert. If we want to do a damn thing, we need a quarterback. Well, welcome to the club, Antonio Pierce. Welcome to the NFL.

What did they say? Well, Hickey, I know you're not a movie guy. Neither am I. Hickey, you ever seen Taken?

Yes, I have. Liam Neeson. What is the key?

What is this? What is the most famous phrase in the movie Taken? Come on. Good luck. Ah, yes.

Good luck. There you go. That's it. To Antonio Pierce, I just say good luck. That's it.

There's nothing else to say. 855-212-4C. Everybody needs a quarterback. We need a quarterback who can beat Patrick Mahomes.

The whole NFL needs a quarterback who can beat Patrick Mahomes. 855-212-4CBS. Tim is here from Alabama. Hey, Tim, you're on the JR Sport Brief Show. You are, man. I hope you and all your family is doing well tonight. They are. I haven't spoken to my family since I sat down in this seat, but I think everybody's OK. Thank you. Hey, that is great, man.

Hey, I just want to follow up on my buddy from Alabama there. OK. Oh, you know, and I agree with what you said about different eras and times in comparing the players. OK. You can't compare Bart Starr to Patrick Mahomes. You can't do it.

It's not fair. Right. But I want to tell you something.

Yes. LeBron and Jordan. I think Jordan scored 14 points in the game.

But guess what? What does 14 points? A score was the most important thing in the game that was ever scored. Jordan was the man. He said he was 24.

I'm 55. I think you follow somewhere in between. I do. Well, let me tell you, Jordan was the man. I know.

And when he when he initially retired. Yeah. After playing against the Utah Jazz. Oh, well, that was the second one. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

But when he when he stepped back from three points, when he stepped back and got a three point line, enjoying that. Yeah. Oh, man, that was.

That was historical, you know? Yeah, I know. Yeah.

Pushed by Russie said, Move out my way. Jump shot for me. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. My way.

I'm going to shoot it. Yeah. I watched that on a 13 inch television. I remember. Yeah. I mean, that was that was unreal. I mean, the moral had to be carried out.

Gordy was the guy like Charlie Joyner being carried out against San Diego Chargers. Yeah. Yeah.

They give everything they had back. Yeah, that's right. I'm out.

OK, go ahead. Gordon. Gordon, I don't think first name offense defense. He was first name defense. Yeah. You don't think that no more. Yeah, you don't. Rudy Gobert. Yeah, you're right.

You don't see first name offense first name. How long you've been watching basketball, Tim? I'm 55. I'll play about 50 years.

OK, since you were five years old. Hey, I would say we're going to send you a certificate, but I'd be lying. So I'm just going to congratulate you and say thank you to not just. I appreciate you, Tim. Thank you, man. Appreciate you. Well, I love you to have a good old night. My main man, Tim, from Alabama.

Love. Hey, Hickey, was that the same guy that I'm supposed? No, that's not the guy that I'm supposed to take the lunch, right?

Oh, yeah. I saw the email. He didn't email me. I wish I did that before I hung up on him. Why didn't he bring it up?

Maybe he got it right this time. Hopefully I didn't get no email from no man named Tim. Maybe as an email yet. He did say he text me the other day and I you know, when he was on air a couple of days, he said he text me. He text my email and I had to go, wait a minute. Did you type my email address into like the text thing on your phone? Because that that don't work.

It doesn't work. You may have to go down to Tim. Forget about him coming to Atlanta.

You have to go down there. Is he? You know what part of Alabama he's in? I can ask him next time.

I do not know the exact town. If he's in Birmingham, he might have to wait. The last time I drove to Birmingham, the guy got a crack in my windshield. I'm like, how? How? I was going out to UAB.

I was going to do a speaking engagement at UAB. And it's like 10 o'clock in the morning. And I'm like, he going to do something nice because it helps out people. And I got a crack in my windshield. And I'm like, what are the odds?

How? I've been driving up and down all around the country my whole life. Not my whole life. But as long as I've been an adult driving, what are the odds I get a crack windshield? So Birmingham, nice city, nice food, nice colleges and stuff.

But no, I'm not a fan of the crack windshield. Hey, where do you stand since LeBron is 40 away from 40,000? What do you think about the totality of his career? Like what he's been able to do up until now? I mean, you talk about overall player, like is there truly been a better overall player with what he does?

Like points, scoring, assists, rebounds, longevity, consistency. Like the fact that like he's about to reach 40,000 and no one's ever reached. The fact that to no other active player, Kevin Durant, Steph Curry have reached even 30,000 points.

He's going to be 10,000 points clear of the next closest active player right now. And there are a few legends in the game playing. It's unbelievable. It's I don't I get there's always have to be like if you do the LeBron Jordan debate, there's always has to be a knock and, you know, knock one guy down to build him up. Like, I don't see how you can outside of you want to get upset with the switching teams part. I don't say you can truly knock.

We just know there's nothing to not rate. It's unbelievable that there's nothing to knock with LeBron James. I remember early in his career was, well, he can't shoot. And then it went from LeBron James can't shoot.

It went to all. Well, now he's passing too much. He's passing up big shots. He's passing up shots that that Kobe would take and Michael Jordan would take. And he just out there playing fundamental basketball. I don't I don't think at this point in time that there is a legitimate knock on LeBron James. He is like Scottie Pippen. Juiced up and not on steroids, but he's like Scottie Pippen winning the lab.

They went in the lab with Scottie and they improved him as a basketball player, as an all around, as an overall. And so with LeBron James is there's nothing to do. Enjoy the man while he's here.

Is he going to say something silly every now and then? Sure. Yeah. But when you got a microphone in your face for more than 20 plus years, like the worst thing to ever been said is, is what?

His decision. Like, let's, let's, let's relax. Let's chill.

Eight five five two one two four CBS. Jared is here from Wisconsin. You're on the JR sport.

Be sure. Go ahead, Jared. Yo, what up, JR? How are you? I am good, sir. How are you? I'm great. Go ahead, man. I'm on my way home from work right now.

I just I just tuned in. So I think that you think LeBron is better than MJ that I didn't say such a thing. I didn't imply such a thing.

I don't know what the hell you heard, but it didn't come out of my mouth. OK, well, we are on the same page, my man. I appreciate that because just the way you were talking about LeBron before, he got a pass too much and he's doing this and he's doing that. MJ is the GOAT. The GOAT. Are we in agreeance on that?

No, I think Michael Jordan is the worst basketball player ever. Hey, Jared, what I need you to do. You got the Odyssey app. You have it. I sure do, my man. You got to go back and listen. OK. So what I said, you got to listen.

I sure I sure will do that. My apologies. I'm out of pocket here. Like I said, I just I just tuned in.

I just heard a little excerpt. But this is this is what we have to we as a people have to be better at. Just because I praised LeBron James, you interpreted it as I now think LeBron James is better than Michael Jordan.

The two don't have anything to do with anything else. Let's look at let's look at it from a different perspective. If I want to go if I want to go back 25 or 30 years, if I was on the radio at that time and I sat here and I said, David Robinson is a great center in the NBA. Look at his jump shot.

Look at how he blocks shots. If I only praised David Robinson and you or somebody else called me and said, oh, you think David Robinson is better than I came allows you on like what does what does one have to do with it? If I said let's go back to 19, I don't know, 1999, 2000, if I sat here and said, oh, my God, Derek Jeter helping the Yankees win a championship again. Oh, my God. Look at the clutch hits by Derek Jeter.

Oh, my. Look, he won another championship. And you called me up and said, hey, J.R., you you saying or you just said that Derek Jeter is better than Nomar Garcia Parra? Like, I think we got it.

We have to come to a place where just because you praise somebody else doesn't mean you're saying that the other person is better. You know? Yes, sir. J.R., you just opened my you opened my mind to a new to a new vision. I haven't looked at it like that before.

I'm a I'm a young buck, OK? So, OK, you know, I get I get I get the people talking and then, OK, I get I get the thinking and I'm like, OK, well, well, that well, that's what he's saying. So I appreciate you verifying yourself. Sure. Well, that's 100 percent correct, because Michael Jordan is 100 percent the best basketball player to ever walk the face of the earth.

Yeah, I, I, I hope I think so. But I said this. I agreed with you.

If you gave me a choice, you have you have said that. And I apologize for the call. Like I said, I had a stressful day at work and I just turned the radio on and I heard LeBron. Do you need me to call your job and curse somebody out? Well, you can't call my job because I'm the owner, so that's not going to work. So if you're going to call somebody, it's going to be me. Oh, that sucks. Is it the customers or your employees?

It was just that I'm going to sound I'm going to sound like a kind of not a good person. We were very busy tonight. I own a restaurant. We're very busy. OK.

But yes, it was very it was very stressful. But money is good. Yes. The business, the customers, the customers are jerks. No, the customers were phenomenal tonight. Oh, your employees. Your employees suck.

No, my employees are very good, too. What it is, J.R., what it is, my man. What?

I'm not going to lie. I'm a LeBron hater. I do not like LeBron whatsoever. I don't have a bone.

A good bone for the guy in my body. I don't like anything about him. You know, he put he put all this stuff on Bronny Jr. and now he's trying to recoil all this stuff. I mean, just like what?

What is it? Well, hold on, hold on. And hold on.

And I got to I got to put you on hold and we got to go to commercial in a minute. I want you just to hear that when it comes down to LeBron James. It doesn't matter what he says. It doesn't matter what he does off the court. Doesn't matter if you give a damn about his shoes when it comes to LeBron James, the basketball player. He is one of the greatest basketball players of all time.

He is doing things that we have never seen done in the game. If you're a LeBron James hater, if you don't like LeBron James, that's fine. You're entitled to your opinion. But there is no debate when you look at the facts, the stats, the numbers and the results.

Let's let's think about this. NBA has been around for over seventy seven years right now. He's going to be the first dude to score forty thousand points. He is the first dude to be playing at this level at his age.

Most of these cats are sitting around and they're counting down the days and they're the side piece. He's still the best player on his team. OK.

If you missed the whole conversation, hit rewind on the free Odyssey app. You can't take anything away from LeBron. Like, what are we doing here? If you just looked into the future, because one day there will be people who have never seen him play and they will look at his stats, his numbers, his longevity, how good he's been. And they're going to just go, damn. What?

This guy did that? He's special. He's great. Don't take it for granted, man. Don't. It's almost over. His career you you have I know they did witness you have witnessed greatness when it comes to his career. Do the wins, the losses, the highs, the lows, because guess what? Nobody wins all the time. Michael Jordan ain't win all the time either.

Don't forget that. It's the J.R. sport we show you on CBS Sports Radio. More of your calls will get to Joel Embiid as well.

Don't move. Hey, Rob Bradford here. I have set out on a mission with my good friends at FanDuel to prove what I have known for some time. Baseball isn't boring. Now I have a daily podcast to prove it with some of the most notable people in the baseball world screaming baseball isn't boring for the mountaintops or at least agreeing to come on our show. Players, managers, GMs and yes, even the commissioner of baseball, Rob Manfred. It has been a constant wave of baseball's both powerful voices. So join the revolution. Subscribe and soak in. Baseball isn't boring. Listen on your Odyssey app or wherever you get your podcasts. You'll be glad you did.
