It is the JR Sport Brief Show on CBS Sports Radio. Happy Monday night to you. Happy Closer to Tuesday to you. I'm going to be rolling with you for one more hour.

I'm coming to you live from Atlanta, Georgia, our super producer and host Dave Sheppard. He's holding it down for us in New York City. Over the past couple of hours since I've been here on air, the Texas Rangers, they beat the Arizona Diamond backs the final score three to one.

The Rangers now take a two one series lead in the World Series. Unfortunately, Max Scherzer exited the game tightness in his back and this is dangerous. Adolis Garcia exits the game in the eighth inning. He has some tightness in his side. Not a good thing for a baseball player.

I think we all know why. Meanwhile, Monday Night Football. We gotta go out to Detroit. The Raiders in town to take on the Lions and they lose. The Raiders lose the final score 26 to 14. Detroit improves its record to six and two on the season. Meanwhile, the Las Vegas Raiders, they fall to three and five in what was another pathetic showing. Pretty bad here.

Let me give you a teaser. Davante Adams had one reception for 11 yards and Jimmy Garoppolo is back out there throwing a rock and he really ain't throw too much of nothing because the Lions had the ball 40 minutes to the Raiders 20. This was ugly. Meanwhile, before we went to break tonight as well, Dabo Swinney doing his radio show wasn't happy with a particular caller. Wanted to call up and ask him, man, what the hell are you doing right now to justify your 115 million dollar contract? And Dabo did not take kindly to the question, called the fan spoiled, and he lost his cool. And being the head coach, even when dealing with the media or talking to fans, he's a human being.

But man, what you did was wrong without a shadow of a doubt. And so we're going to hear from Dabo, we'll play that audio for you. We're going to hear from some of the Lions and then also we'll hear from the liar, called him a liar.

I meant loser, my apologies. Josh McDaniels, even though I think he might have lied to one of those football teams about taking a job one time, but that's a different conversation. We'll hear from him and then we'll also hear from Bruce Bochy. A matter of fact, let's listen to Bruce Bochy right now. Hey, what the hell is going on with the Dolies Garcia and what's going on with old man Max Scherzer?

Are they going to be available? What's going on here? The Rangers won the game, but then they got two big dudes are listening to this. Bruce, can you give us injury updates on both Max Scherzer and a Dolies Garcia and whether you expect either of them for the remainder of the series? Right? Right now we're going to just evaluate them. Dolly will get some diagnostics done. See where he's at left side tightness. We're being optimistic.

We're going more tomorrow. Same with Max. Max took a pretty good shot on the elbow. That's what we were concerned about, but it was this low back that tighten up on him.

He just couldn't go anymore and sing with him. We'll see where he's at the next 24 hours and decide where we're at with him. Max Scherzer is almost 40 years old. This man has been in over the past few seasons in a perpetual state of just being hurt, not being available. Sam, my arm is tired.

My body hurts. That's what happens when you're almost 40 years old, let alone out here playing baseball. Shout outs to Corey Seeger. Two run home run tonight in the third inning. Pretty much gave the Rangers what the hell they needed.

Put them up two to nothing or excuse me, put them up three to nothing at that point. A matter of fact, let's listen to this, this shot. Corey Seeger doing it courtesy of the Rangers Radio Network. Here's Corey Seeger who swings and drives one deep to right. It sails way out of here. Corey Seeger with a line drive home run.

A good dozen rows into the seats in right. He's given Texas a three nothing lead. Yeah, final score ended up being three to one. They'll be back in action tomorrow. The Rangers will have an opportunity to go up three to one and with the uncertainty surrounding Adolis Garcia, man, you want to go up three to one because you don't want to drag this out and one of your most important hitters, someone who's been having just ridiculous postseason stretch.

You don't want to test fate. They want to go ahead and try to close this out as soon as possible. That was taking place in Arizona. In Detroit tonight, I told you about the Lions just basically not even allowing the Raiders to do anything. They did have a score. 75 yard pick six Marcus Peters takes it to the house, but outside of that, there was not a scare. There was not a concern about the Raiders doing anything because their offense is pathetic. Jimmy Garoppolo, 10 of 21 for one interception.

Josh Jacobs was the leading receiver for the Raiders tonight. Two receptions to go along with 27 yards and then you have a head coach. Does he have answers as to why they stink? Well, let's take a look at the why they stink? Well, let's take a listen to him. Here he is, Josh McDaniels, a wide array to suck.

Look, we can't win if we give the ball away. You know what I mean? Period. You know, and I'm not, you know, it's, there's a lot of things that go into that.

I just want to make sure I say that. There's a lot of things that go into that. So, you know, protection, routes, reads, you know, throws, catches, you know, all that stuff. But, you know, at the end of the day, we have to be able to take care of the ball. And we don't, we don't fumble. You know, we haven't fumbled this year. So, we know, the quarterback room knows we have to take care of the ball better than what we have.

Okay. Well, what about the guy who receives passes from the quarterback? What about the wide receiver? What about Devontae Adams? One of the best wide receivers who only had one catch for 11 yards.

What about him? He spoke to the media after the game and let's just say he wasn't too happy. Honestly, I don't know what to say at this moment. I truly don't.

I wish I had the words to, you know, to say something that's not going to get blown up in the media and taken out of context. So, I'm just, I truly, I just don't know. What are you feeling right now? Can you elaborate on anything going through your mind? Frustration.

But, I mean, that's, that kind of goes without saying. Devontae, I know you said that, you know, you have confidence whenever you're out there and your offense's ability. But, is it kind of hard to maintain that when the results aren't what they've been? No, it's not hard to maintain the confidence in our offense.

It's just hard to curb your frustration when you can't put it together when you know you should. Maybe he needs to give some advice to Dabo Swinney because Dabo Swinney was asked a difficult question. He was put in a difficult spot by a fan and Dabo completely lost his mind. A caller into his radio show tonight decided to ask Dabo Swinney, what's going on? How can you justify your current salary, you know, based on the four and four results, based on the loss to North Carolina State?

And Dabo decided to kind of tee off on this fan. Listen to this. I don't know how old you are.

Don't really care, right? But let me tell you something. We won 11 games last year and you're part of the problem, to be honest with you, because that is part of the problem.

It's people like you that do, that all you do is the appreciation, the expectation is greater than the appreciation and that's the problem. We've won 12 10 plus win seasons in a row. That's happened three times in 150 years. So if you want to know why, Clemson ain't sniffed a national championship for 35 years. We've won two in seven years and there's only two other teams that can say that.

Georgia and Alabama, okay? He didn't stop there. At the end, he pretty much said, if you don't like me being here, too bad. You don't have nothing to do with it. I don't answer to you.

Listen to this. I work for the board of trustees, the president and the AD. And if they're tired of me leading this program, all they got to do is let me know. I'll go somewhere else where there is an appreciation.

All right. It's not just winning. It's how you win.

I'm 53 years old and there ain't one thing in my life. I have been a part of failure many times, but there ain't one thing in my life that I've ever failed at, Tyler. Damn.

It sounds like two sixth graders beefing in the lunchroom, Tyler. Like, come on. Let's think about this quickly here. Let's look at some winners tonight. The Detroit Lions, six and two record winners. Let's go ahead and take a look at the Texas Rangers, despite the injuries to Adolis Garcia and Max Scherzer, winners. And then we got some losers. Diamondbacks lost. Raiders are just always losing.

Something always happens with them. And Dabo Sweeney, he's in the loser category as well. Tyler. Damn.

Hey, what did he say? He's 53 years old? 53 years old. Yeah. Only people who talk like that are teenagers.

I'm 53 years old. Tyler. Yeah.

It sounds like something that two kids would argue about. Tyler. What a grown ass man he is. 855-212-4CBS. It's 855-212-4CBS. Hey, Isaac, you had a question prior to the break. Just hit me with the question.

Go ahead. Hey, another similar guy to Dabo is Ryan Day. I just wanted to know what you think about the coaches who, instead of just coaching, there's some coaches who don't do this. Why do you think they have to be so salesman of their program? I mean, it's kind of a rhetorical question, but what's your opinion on that? Because Ryan Day is real passionate and kind of in the same way.

Yeah, but here's, and thank you, Isaac, for calling from Houston. The difference between him and Dabo. Dabo has always taken this approach of, I don't want to say holier than thou, but he is. He does wear his religion and what he believes on his sleeve.

He's been very open and honest about his faith. Nothing wrong with that. Different strokes for different folks, whatever makes him happy.

But it's just like you can't have it both ways. And certainly he's a human being. He is well within his right to A, make a mistake.

He also owned up to the program being four and four, but a big part of what it is is the head coach is to take accountability. Things are good. Things are bad. You're the one who's supposed to stay even about this. The last thing anybody's going to do is cuss out the fans.

I mean, well, damn, let's think about this in a different regard. Am I going to see an NFL head coach doing that? Like, are you going to see Bill Belichick on a radio show cursing out a fan or WEEI? Am I going to see Mike Tomlin yelling out a fan who, hey, Mike, you're making all this money.

And I get a different atmosphere being in college. But come on now. You're the coach. You're supposed to be better than that.

Let the fans curse each other out. Got this 53-year-old man calling a Tyler. Justin's here from Virginia. You're on CBS Sports Radio.

Hey, JR. This is just Dabo being Dabo. This is who he's always been.

It's always about Dabo. So this doesn't surprise me. Yeah, he says he'll go somewhere else, but he's got $150 million.

Even if this fireman is here, what does he have left? Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. My bad.

Another $90 million. They've got to pay him anyway. So of course you can say that.

So is Dabo being Dabo. Doesn't surprise me. Doesn't even make me mad, even though I am a Georgia Tech fan from Atlanta, where you are. Thanks a lot, JR. All right.

Thank you, Justin, for calling from Virginia. Yeah, the same money that allows him to feel comfortable enough to say such is the same thing he's defended. Maybe he's not just 100% comfortable with who he is and his position right now. If you've got to defend yourself that much, like, is there some type of insecurity there with Dabo, sweetie? He went on, continued, and he said that the fan who called him, he said the fan is spoiled. Like a lot of the fans are spoiled.

Listen to Dabo. But to answer your question, all right, we're second in draft picks. We've graduated 98% of our guys. We're second in wins. All right. We're second in wins.

All right. If you want to know why, again, I'm telling you, we're not perfect. There's a lot of teams that, you know, Frank Howard never had a bad year. Coach Ford never had a bad year.

Coach K has never had a bad year in basketball. People have a bad year. I used to tell people all the time, I'd say, what's the difference in Clemson? Let me tell you. At some places, there's an expectation, but at Clemson, there's an appreciation.

And what's happened at Clemson is, is we've won so much that even when we, it used to be the funds and the winning, now, even when you win, people like you complain and criticize the coaches and question everything. Tyler, I'm 53 years old. A-5-5-2-1-2 for CBS. I know Tyler got a kick out of that. He probably was like, yes, I did it. Tyler, I ticked off Dabo Sweeney. I got him ticked off all on the radio. Kirk is calling from Wisconsin. You're on CBS Sports Radio.

I'm 53 years old. Go ahead, Kirk. Yeah. I've been a Packer fan for, God, since I was 10 years old, old enough to follow football. I'm taking a lot of heat for haters because the Packers have been so good the last 20 years. We're back to the losing years.

I conceded that beginning of the season, and I'm good. My question to you is, do you think Devontae Adams would have been better off staying in Green Bay right now with Jordan Love? Would he be having a better season? Would Jordan Love be having a better season? Would the Packers be doing any better?

Or is it a Le Fleur problem? Well, all things considered, Kirk, and thank you for calling from Wisconsin, I think in a general sense, both teams are losers. And so, look, he went someplace where he thought he would have a better chance at winning. Obviously, Derek Carr, his former Bulldog teammate, is no longer there. And we see where Aaron Rodgers is. And we see that both the Packers and the Raiders now, they have to figure out the quarterback situation.

So Jordan Love is young, doesn't have experience. Jimmy Garoppolo is never healthy. The Raiders are just a joke of an organization. And so, I mean, exactly what he signed up for and what he was looking for isn't the case or what's taking place. So I really think it's more of a wash. I don't think if he was still in Green Bay, things would be all that different. What was he going to do?

Nothing. The team's still going to stink. 8-5-5, 2-1-2, 4 CBS.

That's 8-5-5, 2-1-2, 4 CBS. Hey, we heard from an angry Dabo. We heard from a sad Josh McDaniels.

How about this? I'm going to take more of your calls. And on the other side of the break, let's listen to some winners. Let's listen to the Lions, especially Jameer Gibbs, who decided to run wild tonight, 152 yards and a touchdown.

We got some more coming for you on the other side of the break. It's the JR Sport Brief Show, CBS Sports Radio. You are listening to the JR Sport Brief on CBS Sports Radio.

You are listening to the JR Sport Brief on CBS Sports Radio. Hey, how you doing, man? I listen to you every night on the way home from work. I appreciate what you're doing, man.

You're a bad man, Majema. Call in now at 8-5-5, 2-1-2, 4 CBS. It's the JR Sport Brief Show on CBS Sports Radio. We've talked about and heard from Dabo Sweeney, angry on Monday night, just a few hours ago on his own radio show, defending himself and his salary and the performance of Clemson and having an off year. And man, he got, for lack of a better term, he got spicy with one of his callers, Tyler. Anyway, he's upset. I don't think Josh McDaniels is upset.

I think he's just miserable. And then we got winners. The Rangers won, right? They are one step away from going 3-1 against the Arizona Diamondbacks. And then the Lions are just continuing to push towards a playoff berth and spot at 6-2. And the way towards that is obviously winning the NFC North. I think that is now a foregone conclusion, especially really now with Kirk Cousins out for the rest of the year with a blown Achilles. And the Lions and their fans deserve this. I mean, if you want to talk about Dabo Sweeney calling the fans at Clemson spoiled, the Lions, their fans have just been abused.

And so I'm happy that they're now having success. And tonight, Jameer Gibbs, 152 yards on the ground. He had a touchdown.

And then how about this? He had a 27 yard touchdown run. I want you to take a listen to this courtesy of the Lions Radio Network. Golf takes the snap. Gives to Gibbs. Gives bounces through a hole. There it goes. Outside 20. Gives 15.

Gives 10. Angling to the end zone. Touchdown Detroit Lions.

Oh, baby. What a run. What a run. 27 yards.

Got skinny. Went through the line and made it to the house. Yeah, listen, that was a positive, right? I want you to hear this because after the game, Mr. 152 yards rushing, he sat down and spoke to Scott Van Pelt.

And when is the last time you heard Detroit Lion fans like in the stadium after the game, losing their minds? Listen. Your rookie class continues across the board, both sides of the ball. There are a bunch of vets here that have established roles, but among your group, the new guys, what's been your sort of message among your group to try to pitch into the level that you have? Because it's been awfully impressive. You know, just keep being ourselves.

You know, we we're here for a reason. Don't try to be a superhero. Just do your job and everything will come to you. Six and two heading into a buy. It's hard not to get like look too far down the road. Dan Campbell, I think you're talking pregame on countdown about how real the dude is like that guy doesn't seem like he could sell a B.S. message because it's just not who he is. But the message to the room heading into a buy six and two with this kind of momentum off the bounce back against Baltimore.

What's he tell the guys? You know, just we still job's not done. You know, we still got more. We still got more to prove.

See, them two isn't good enough. You know, we're here to win the Super Bowl, so yeah. Lions and Super Bowl. I'm still getting used to that one. And then so selecting Emmett number 12 here in the draft of this past season, a lot of people had to go, well, damn, I'll run it back.

Certainly working out for the Lions now, isn't it? 855-212-4CBS. Will is calling from Chicago.

Go ahead, Will. Hey, JR. I just wanted to make a point about how the transfer portal is destroying Nick Saban and Dabo Sweeney specifically, because they have been able to create these powerhouses all the way through the 2010s where they could have four and five star players deep as heck through their entire roster. And now these players are deciding that they're going to get starting opportunities as freshmen at all these different other schools. And with Dabo and and with Dabo and Nick Saban actively speaking out against the transfer portal, it only makes people like Dabo look terrible in these press conferences. And Dabo is an athlete. He is a killer. He's going to go after people in a very contained Christian way. But I mean, that's pretty much my point. Well, not tonight. Well, not tonight. He went at that guy.

Thank you, Will, for calling from Chicago. I agree with you. We have seen these guys, I don't want to say lose it, but they've certainly gotten to a point where they've been combative, whether it's, did you see what that other team is doing over there buying their players? We don't buy our players here. Dabo Sweeney has been very vocal over the past several seasons about how Clemson decides to bring in its players and recruits and where they get them from. Dabo bristled at the fact a few years ago about paying the athletes.

And so here he is in a space in a world where he didn't want to be. And it is more of an even playing field. You know, I don't think Alabama is going to fall off the face of the earth and neither is Clemson, but you do have an opportunity now with these collectives at different schools to just throw the money at somebody.

And money talks. 855-212-4CBS, Bob is calling from Michigan. How are you doing? I want to touch base a little with you about tonight's game. You know, that was more like a scrimmage. That was a good workout for the Lions. The Lions were not that sharp. They first three drives, they got three field goals, nine nothing. And they had three turnovers. One was a pick six and one was a fumble on the goal line. So they got away with a win. But we were just hitting punching bags. Dan Campbell said they had to get their identity back. They didn't have to worry about winning or losing. They had to play their own game again.

And they want to coordinate a schedule. But you know what was cool? They put Lomas Brown in the ring of honor tonight.

Yeah, I am pride of honor. Well, when he come back up to the booth, you know, he's color man for the radio. He brought Barry Sanders with him. And earlier they were talking about how Jameer Gibbs look like Barry Sanders about as much as anyone but the Danny and Tomlinson.

And I should tell your listening audience on November 20, a documentary called Bye Bye Barry is going to be released worldwide on something called Amazon Prime or something like that. You guys will know. Yep. But yeah, it was a good game. They got everybody in it. But well, here's the deal. At least they didn't look like they did against the Ravens.

And that's that's moving in a positive direction. Oh, that's what I wanted to say. The Ravens was such a thorough team wise, whomping man. They slaughtered us, everybody. Sometimes these are the type of games that you need to win.

And thank you, Bob, for calling for Michigan. I mean, it certainly looked like they were going to get back into it. They being the Raiders, you know, with Marcus Peters and that pick six, and the game could have gone in another direction. I mean, they could have been stopped. The Raiders could have taken the opportunity to take the lead.

It didn't happen. And so, yeah, I mean, throughout the course of the season, sometimes you're going to hand out the ass whoopings. Sometimes you're going to be on the receiving end. And there's going to be other times where you just got to tough it out. And if there's one thing that we've seen from the lines throughout the course of the season, they're going to tough it out and they're going to be aggressive.

They are going to punch you. And there may not be a whole lot of pretty about the team, but they they're going to work to get it done. And that's a testament to Dan Campbell.

The team has really taken on his personality and it's cool because the guy's a complete nut and the NFL needs more personalities like Dan Campbell and less of the, I don't know, Bill Belichick's. 855-212-4 CBS. That's 855-212-4 CBS. Daniel is here from South Beach. You're on CBS Sports Radio.

South Beach, South Carolina. You are on the radio, Daniel. Oh, okay. All right. Yeah. I was going to talk about Dumbo. Well, who? Dumbo, instead of Dabbo. Oh, okay. Yes, go ahead.

Yeah, we call him Dumbo down here. But anyway though, who do you think is going to win the game though between South Carolina and Clemson, South Carolina and Clemson? I would go ahead and I'd take the take dabble.

I think he's going to be fired up. Maybe you go back out there play wide receiver. Oh, I'm hopefully going to play anything on that like that though. But yeah, okay. All right. I understand what you're saying though.

But you play wide receiver though. Yeah, where do you play from? Alabama? Yeah. Yes. Yes. Yep. But was he good obviously? I don't know.

I don't think he was much of anything when he played. No. That's what I'm saying though. But I mean, so you think Clemson going to beat South Carolina is what you're saying? I think so.

I haven't sat around and watched too many teams of a four and four team go out here. This is the biggest story unfortunately for Clemson throughout the course of the season is that this man has now come out here and just lost his mind. Okay, so you're down on Dabo then. Am I? Say again?

Shep, Shep, help, Shep, help translate please. So, so Daniel to answer your question, JR is without question down on Dabo as he should be. Oh, okay. There we go.

Yeah. Not getting paid as much as he is to losing cheese at Bulls. Yeah, I mean, I'm saying though that, so I mean, is he a good coach or a bad coach? Well, hang on a sec.

Wait, wait, wait, wait, hold on Daniel. Dabo Sweeney is a good coach. I don't think they are giving this guy $115 million to be a bad coach. I think where Dabo Sweeney has messed up and why he is now being criticized is because of how he's gone about bringing talent into the school. He's been against the transfer portal. He doesn't necessarily want to go out and pay. He's been very vocal about not paying the athletes and wanting to do things a certain way. And you know what?

It might be antiquated. So I don't, why am I down on him? I'm down on him because he's always had a lot to say about the program and how he does things. And now that there's failure in it, I think that he's talking out of both sides of his mouth and now he's feeling the heat, but I don't think he's a bad coach. No, I ain't never said he's a bad coach though.

But since he left though, you know. Yes. Yeah. We talked about Deshaun Watson and we talked about Trevor Lawrence. We did Daniel, but I'll put it to you this way. Yeah.

I got Clemson over South Carolina because to sit down and watch two bad teams, I think the better of the bad teams will win. Okay? That's right. Okay. That's right. All right.

Thank you. Shep, what did they do? They multiplied? What happened? Looks like Daniel was losing out of the conversation, so he went for backup. That's what that sounds like. Marco Belletti, did you understand what was taking place? I did. I picked up enough words there to be able to try to figure it out. Context clues. Context clues. I spoke to one guy and next thing I know, I felt like I was talking to three.

I think you had a room full. Yeah. By the way, I thought the one guy you were talking to had three personalities, let alone the three guys with him. Who? Oh, him?

Yeah. I mean, who's Gumbo? No one says Dabo Sweet is Gumbo.

It's not a South Carolina thing. Did he call him Dumbo or Gumbo? He called him Gumbo.

That's what I was like. I thought it was Dumbo. I thought it was Gumbo. Now I feel like we're on a who's on first get. Hey, listen, we can call him back.

Okay. Just for the record, who's on first? I don't know who's on second and what's on third. Was that it in finality? When did you figure that out?

Like 10 years ago? Well, they're a good comedy duo. The players and the names, they're really funny these days.

You know? Comedy duo? But in Costello, even though they didn't necessarily get along.

I'm so sorry to take this on a left turn. But speaking of comedians, JR, to do it tonight, I would be curious to hear your reaction to the passing of Matthew Perry. That was a big topic of conversation over the weekend. Friends? Because of how much of a sports fan he was. Yeah.

That was huge. I didn't sit down and watch Friends. Okay. That's fair then. There's nothing to say. What am I going to say? I didn't watch Friends.

Okay. He was a junior tennis... He was a big time tennis player growing up. He used to really represent all the hockey paraphernalia and he was a huge Kings fan. He was a Sacramento Kings fan? Los Angeles. Los Angeles Kings fan.

Oh, hockey. I was wondering why. Okay. Here's the thing. You're very funny. I know you have a lot more interest.

Very much so. You have like five rejoins about you being a comedian. Just a jerk.

No, there's no rejoins like that, JR. And by the way, anyone who calls you a jerk, by the time the conversation's over, they actually realize what a nice and funny guy you are. But Matthew Perry is one of the funniest human beings ever. He was that funny. It reminds me a lot of Robin Williams when he passed away. I just had this punch to the gut, JR.

I feel like my heart was torn out for me because he was our child. He was our childhood. I mean, even Marco, who's not much older than us.

Marco, you grew up with Friends. I'm with JR, man. I didn't really watch. I'll be fair. I'm not taking a shot at him. I saw a few episodes. I'll be fair.

And this is not taking a shot at a guy that just passed away. I didn't like the show. I thought it was completely and totally overrated. But that's me. It's just a bunch of people living in an apartment building, right? A bunch of ridiculously good-looking people living in a ridiculously big apartment in New York and none of them ever seemed to work. Yeah, I had a problem with that.

It was rent control. We all realized that. That's why it was so big. It lacked reality control for me. I didn't care. Your Friends wasn't up my alley. Rest in peace to that guy.

Yes, yes, yes. I can't say. I never watched. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief on CBS Sports Radio. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief on CBS Sports Radio. Long time listening.

First time caller. Love your show. I like how you spit the truth. I love your show. I got a great show. You're the bomb diggity, man. Thank you.

Call in now at 855-212-4CBS. Hey, let's get a quick recap here. Texas Rangers. One more win. 3-1. Tonight, they'll beat... Chef, is it okay to say tonight or do I say tomorrow? What do I say? You can say either one. Either one. As long as you say Monday.

Yeah. Tuesday night, the Texas Rangers have an opportunity to go up 3-1 against the Diamondbacks. Tonight, they beat them in Arizona. The final score was 3-3. 3-1 against the Diamondbacks. Tonight, they beat them in Arizona.

The final score was 3-1. Max Scherzer goes down. Back tightness.

Back spasms, okay? Adolis Garcia, tightness in his left side. Hopefully, he can be available to play. We'll find out. I assume it'll be a game time decision.

Hopefully, it's nothing worse. I mean, Adolis Garcia has just been the hottest hitter in baseball in the postseason. Just absolutely fun to watch. And so, game four tomorrow night, Tuesday night in Arizona. Told you about Dabo Swinney losing his mind on a caller.

I'm sure you're going to hear a whole lot more about that all day on Tuesday. And maybe we'll even get the apology from Dabo Swinney. He wasted no time in a viscera... His name was Tyler, right Shep? Tyler? Yes, it was definitely Tyler.

Yeah, he went at that guy Tyler. And I assume the apology will come maybe as soon as Tuesday. And then Monday Night Football, we saw the Lions host the Raiders and beat them 26 to 14. You know, after getting smashed by the Baltimore Ravens in their last game, they have an opportunity to bounce back. Or they had an opportunity to bounce back. And they did. Okay, they controlled the ball for 40 minutes out of the game.

Jameer Gibbs, 152 yards. And so, head coach Dan Campbell, he spoke to the media afterwards and he said, yeah, we got back to playing the game the way that we want to play. The most important thing about this game was us getting our identity back. And that was what all the work that we put in this week was about. The whole focus was about getting back to what we do. And that was the most important thing. And that really showed through today. Was it perfect?

It wasn't perfect. But ultimately, we got what I wanted to get out of it. And next up, a little chance to relax before they take on the Chargers. A bye week for the Detroit Lions coming up. Let's get to some of your calls before I roll out. 855-2124 CBS. Matthew is calling from Columbia, South Carolina. You're on CBS Sports Radio.

Hey, guys. Thanks for taking my call. Longtime listener.

Appreciate both of you. I'm just going to be quick. A lot of people, I think, around the country are starting to see what he really is like. I'm a South Carolina grad and fan.

I sent you guys a thing on Twitter earlier. My thing is, he wasn't necessarily wrong in the way he went at the kid. But the way he went about it, us South Carolina fans have been seeing that for years. And I'm glad the national media and you guys are starting to see it finally. I was going to hang up and listen to what you say. Appreciate the show. All right.

Thank you, Matthew. I don't have issue with his thoughts in defending himself. But responding to a fan that way, it's a losing battle. Like, you don't win. You come across as a jerk. It's not a good look.

It's just flat period. Like, if you want to defend yourself and look, was it necessary? The kid, if you want to call him a kid, he's in his 20s or what have you, he asked a question and he repeated himself multiple times and he got, he was kind of egging him on. He wasn't calling them names. He wasn't being disrespectful, but he was very clear. Like, hey man, with the amount of money that you make, where are the results? And he was, it was, he could have asked the question in a nicer way, but that doesn't absolve Dabo Sweeney from hitting back and being a jerk.

It doesn't. So look, you can defend yourself, but you don't got to answer and respond to nobody like that at all. Christian's calling from Charlotte. What's up, Christian? Hey man. Hey there, man. I'm a long time listening.

I work at night and I'm a huge NC State fan. I go back all the way to when T.A. McClendon was playing, man. And I cannot tell you how bad I was crying in the car when he was playing that Dabo Sweeney clip and saying, Tyler. Tyler. Tyler.

I'm 53 years old. Well, you got double, you got double bang for your buck. You won over the weekend and now you get to listen to the man sound pitiful. No, it's great because I'm I'm been wanting us to be get over the hump of Clemson. I hate that we couldn't do it the years of Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence, but, you know, it's good to see my boys get a win.

Get some confidence under him and see if they can, you know, make at least make it to a bowl game. But man, JR, you are the coolest dude at night, man. I work overnight and you keep me upbeat and keep me ready to work every night, dog, man. You are the dopest guy ever. And you're your co-host, dude.

He is freaking amazing at times, man. I swear you guys are the coolest. Y'all have a great night, man. Thank you, Christian. Be safe and be well.

Thank you so much for calling from Charlotte. So, man, I'm just I ain't I ain't doing I'm just sitting here, chilling, relaxing, watching the games, talk about the games, listening to head coaches lose their minds. Listen, it's gravy for me. And guess what? I'm going to be back tomorrow to do the same damn thing. I wonder if we're going to have a Dabo Sweeney apology. I wonder if I don't know, maybe by the time I'm on air tomorrow, maybe the Texas Rangers will have gone up three to one against the Diamondbacks or maybe the Diamondbacks tie the series.

Maybe Adolis Garcia will be healthy enough to play. I have no idea. But I do know this. Between now and tomorrow, there's going to be some more wild things happening in sports. That's just how it goes. And we'll be here starting at 10 p.m. Eastern, 7 Pacific. If you miss me in the meantime, you can find me everywhere. I am online at JR Sport Brief. Shep, where can people find you at? Shep on CBS, JR. Shep on CBS.
