Thank you to everybody locked in all over North America on the free Odyssey app, live on your local CBS Sports Radio affiliate, Sirius XM Channel 158, Smart Speakers, CBSSportsRadio.com, so many ways to listen. I'm glad that you're here. Thank you to super producer and host Dave Shepherd. It's been a busy night.

I get started, 10 p.m. Eastern, 7 p.m. Pacific. So whether you're in San Diego or if you're up in Boston, what's up WEEI? I'm glad that you're here and everything in between, okay?

Just color the damn map. What's up Canada too? I like Canada.

I love Canada. I'll be here with you for one more hour. If you've missed a minute of the show, you can hit rewind on the free Odyssey app. We've had a busy day. We've had a busy night. Right before I went on air, we had a no-hitter in Major League Baseball.

Yes, another one. Michael Lorenzen going out and getting busy for his new team, the Philadelphia Phillies. He's been a Philly for about a week now, was acquired at the trade deadline from from Detroit and comes over in his second start, his first start at home and throws a no-no. He beats the Washington Nationals.

The final score is seven to nothing. He strikes out five guys. He walks four. It took him 124 pitches. This is the fourth no-hitter that we have witnessed this season and a matter of fact, I want you to listen to the final call courtesy of the Phillies radio network. Outfield shaded to the opposite field against the lefty Smith. The 3-2 pitch.

Swing and a high fly ball. Centerfield coming in is Rojas. He's calling. He has got it.

Yeah. Lorenzen leaps into the arms of real muto and the Phillies pile out of the dugout in front of the mound. They celebrate a no-hitter tonight by Michael Lorenzen in his second start as a Philly. Good for him.

Congratulations. Early on in the show, I talked about how the the increased frequency of no hitters. I mean, a couple of seasons ago we had nine of them. A record nine. This season, we already have four. Franberg Valdez had had a no-hitter last week. Domingo Hermon threw a perfect game in June. Okay, that's a whole less lot frequent.

Only 24 in Major League Baseball history. But I talked about how, you know, just baseball has changed so much that even the frequency of no hitters, albeit still special, it's just, it's like, another one? Okay, great. Sure.

Fine. Also, earlier in the day, Ron Rivera opening up his yap yesterday saying that, yeah, I told my players go talk to Eric Bienemey. Don't come crying to me. Talk to him about why he's hurting your feelings. And then that gets passed around and people come up with theories that, you know, Eric Bienemey is being too soft, or he's being too difficult, too intense, and that the players are too soft.

And Ron Rivera today, he regretted even opening up his mouth. Listen to what he said. You know, I realized my comments yesterday took on a different life than I intended yesterday. Nest on me for not being as clear as I needed to be.

I'll own that. At the end of the day, we know that we're trying to build here, and we're all aligned. As I've said many times since I've hired Eric, I love the overall message that he gave to the team his first day, and that was basically, we all learn to be comfortable when we're uncomfortable. Yeah, well, he learned he shouldn't say anything.

And we also learned that his team's, his team's soft. Okay, fine. Thank you for letting us know. And then we're going to take a look at the show. As I do every Wednesday night into Thursday morning, I bring you a new top six list. We got the first full slate of NFL preseason games.

Get started on Thursday night. Takes us into the weekend. 14 preseason games. It's going to be fun if you want to, I don't know, watch Bryce Young take on the Jets.

If you don't want to watch Aaron Rodgers because he ain't playing. But the fact is, I wanted to give you a top six list and take a look, an early look, at six NFL players with the most to prove in 2023. At number six, I gave you Lamar Jackson. At number five, I gave you Chase Young. At number four, I gave you Michael Thomas. At number three, I gave you Saquon Barkley. At number two, I gave you Russell Wilson. At number one, I gave you Justin Fields. Of course, there are more than six players with something to prove. There were specific reasons that I gave for each player. You know, one of our call is prior to the break, he said, it's blasphemous that I don't have Deshaun Watson in my top six.

And I said, listen, what is Deshaun Watson's 27 years old? What does he have to prove that he's not a pervert? Like, I think if he goes and plays a full, full six, he's going to have to prove that he's not a pervert. If he goes and plays a full, full healthy season, he's going to be one of the best quarterbacks in the game. And does he have something to prove? Yes, absolutely. That he can, he can bounce back in a full season.

But I think there's a little bit more gravity attached and associated to some of the players that I mentioned. 855-212-4CBS. That's 855-212-4CBS. I'm going to get some more of your calls right now. Let's go to David in Buffalo. He made it back. You're on CBS Sports right now.

Hey, JR, thanks for having me back on, man. You know what? I got to say that Stephon Diggs has got the most to prove of any player in the NFL this year, because to me, you look at the playoffs last year, he didn't do anything in the playoffs when the Bills needed him most. And just the way he acted in the off season, putting himself in front of the team, this Bill's team has a window to win a Super Bowl. And you know, if he's going to act like a Terrell Owens or Randy Moss, put himself in front of the team, that's just not going to fit with this culture. If you're trying to win it all, it's a team thing first.

Yeah, no, I hear you. Well, he will certainly tell you on the reverse that the reason why he didn't do anything so he didn't get the ball. I mean, I think here's the thing about that. You know, I think the pressure to me was all on Josh Hale and the offensive line really struggled in those playoff games, especially against Cincinnati. And then I think the other thing too is, you know, they were double teaming him. And to me, the game plan, you know, was not that good. The offensive coordinator, Ken Dorsey, I thought struggled and they got to institute more underneath routes instead of going deep all the time. Well, we know for Josh Allen, a lot of what he's going to have to do as well.

And this has been talked about ad nauseam. And thank you, David, for calling from Buffalo. Josh Allen is going to have to go out and not be Superman.

I think that's something we have to look forward to as well. 855-212-4CBS. Greg is calling from Michigan. Hey, JR, Mr.

Positive. Hey, I love your top six list. It's so intriguing. I always want to know who and why because you have a plethora of options.

And I love the way you do it because you wait with bated breath and it's just fantastic. But for me, it has to be our Lions quarterback, Jared Goff, because he tasted the Super Bowl and he's probably thinking, I'll be damned if I don't get back to there. I've got to prove that I can win this title. And I think he's the one that's going to have a lot to prove in Detroit. Definitely.

No, it's a pretty cool story. And thank you, Greg, for calling from Michigan. Ironically, Jared Goff, and I don't quote me exactly, but he said recently, he's like, man, I don't care what anybody thinks about me.

I'm worried about what I need to do for myself. And I appreciate that. Yeah. He says, I don't care if I get enough respect. I just want to win.

And I love that because I mentioned this earlier on in the show when it comes down to what Ron Rivera said and players not feeling Eric B. Enemy's style. It's like, man, stop, stop being a punk.

Like, like worry about what you have to worry about and stop thinking about external voices and how people feel about you. Just do what you need to do. That's it. 855-212-4CBS. It's 855-212-4CBS. Blue is calling from Jacksonville. You're on the JR Sport Brief show. Hey, JR. Thank you for taking my phone call.

Love your show. I just want to say, when you put JR, Jordan Love, ahead of Justin Fields, as far as most, a guy that has a lot of approval, then I have two other guys just from a Falcons point of view. Nah, because he's in the, he has something to prove. I'm not going to put him above Justin Fields. Like, he hasn't done anything enough for us to feel anything. So I think he got a little bit more runway. With Justin Fields, it's like, are you going to be a franchise QB or are you just going to be a guy?

Like he's, Love, Love has, has time and opportunity in front of him. Okay. I got you.

Okay. And from a Falcons point of view, I would say Cal Pitts and Desmond Rutter. For one, Cal Pitts, he's the highest drafted tight end. And from Falcons point of view, they, they wanted Michael Parsons instead of Cal Pitts.

So I would say from that, one of you, Cal Pitts. Then the second is Desmond Rutter. The Falcons fans wanted Lamar Jackson. They chose Desmond Rutter over Lamar Jackson. So Falcons fans are definitely right now, they are on Desmond Rutter behind right now.

So, and if he don't show up, I wouldn't, I wouldn't say that. I would, I would actually say that there are a lot of Falcon fans who feel positive about Desmond Rutter. I would say, I hear more Falcon fans talk to me and I hear it here on the radio as well.

I hear it when I'm in the street. There are more people I would say who are more optimistic, maybe more than they should be about what Desmond Rutter can be. I can understand that, but I think if he don't show up this year, Arthur Smith and Terry Fontenot, they're going to lose the job because Falcons fans already saying, why didn't you just go out and lease, offer a contract to Lamar Jackson?

I don't think so. I mean, Arthur Blank is one of the most patient owners that, that, that the NFL actually has. And so I don't think the plug will be pulled. The Falcons team, if they had a, an average quarterback, if they had a good quarterback, there would be no ands, ifs, or buts about whether or not they were going to win the NFC South. And quarterback is pretty much the only position that they have to fill. And so I think all things considered since Terry Fontenot came over from the Saints, he's done a very good job building up the team, building up the defense, bringing in offensive weapons, and pretty much the last thing that these Falcons need to do is plug in a quarterback. And if Desmond Rutter is an average to slightly above average quarterback, they're going to be in a good position. And in relation to Kyle Pitts, if he's healthy, I don't think anybody is worried about him.

I think he'll be able to bounce back as well. Blue, I appreciate you for calling from Jacksonville. Matthew is calling from Virginia. You're on CBS Sports Radio. Go ahead, Matthew. Thank you, JR, for taking my call. Big fan of the show. Thank you, man.

What's up? I think the player who has the most to prove this year, and I understand that this is a little bit of an outside of the box take is Daniel Jones. He's been given face of the franchise money. He's been surrounded with better weapons than he's had in the past. He's, frankly, in a better situation to shine than he ever has. And I think he's got to go out and prove it this year that he deserves the huge contract.

Most certainly. I think if you're Saquon Barkley and you walk in a room and you look at Daniel, you go, well, yeah, Daniel makes all the decisions. He is the quarterback. He's the decision maker, the most important dude on the team. But I'm the most talented.

I am equally as important. And he doesn't do what he does if it's not for me, or at least certainly last season. And yeah, Daniel Jones has a lot to prove. And I know his contract at this point looks like a little bit of a discount, doesn't it? Only $40 million a year.

Only $40 million. So he's still trying to grow and prove that he can do more than run around, get a concussion, and actually deliver the ball downfield. Now he has some guys to work with.

So it'll be fun to see what Daniel Jones can do. Hey, Matthew, thank you for calling from Virginia. Let's go to Detroit. Let's talk to David. Is this who I think it is? Hey, David, you're on CBS Sports Radio.

Yes, it's who you think it is, David. It's your favorite repo man in the world. How you doing? I'm fine. Now why you say it like I have, like, I like multiple repo people. I don't like nobody repoing nothing. You like me?

Yeah, I like you. How many cars did you repossess tonight? I got two hands so far.

Do you got a goal for tonight? You got like a quota? Seven or eight. Trying to get to the eight. Oh my god.

I don't have a quota. You're trying to get to seven repossessed cars and you got to take each one individually to the lot? Yes, sir.

I'm gonna make it happen. Wow. You move quick then to repossess seven cars in a night? Well, here you gotta have a system.

Well, nobody gets mad. You sneak up on, I mean, it's nighttime, so people aren't in it. You just pick it up off the street? Yep, it'll be on the street, driveway. If it's there and it's available, I got it. It's mine. I need it. Okay.

Okay. We had a guy who evicts people out of their homes the other day. Did you hear him? No, I didn't. Unfortunately, I didn't. You were busy repossessing a car. I was figuring that maybe I could connect it to you.

He kicks people out of their homes and you take their cars. You should start a business. You should start a business. You should start a business.

You should start a business. I think about it. Okay. What else is on your mind? What's up? All right. Two things. First thing off topic. Are you and Greg related?

Because Greg is always calling. I like you, Mr. Wonderful.

Thank you. But are you all related? Do you think myself and Greg are related? I don't know. Maybe he's an uncle or something. Okay.

I don't know if that would work genetically, but go ahead. He's his twin brother. All right. Okay.

Okay. So, look, I heard what you said about Deshaun Watson, but Deshaun Watson, can he even play football? We don't know. I know he a freak boy, but can he play? That's what we got to see. We saw him come back at the end of last season and he was rusty. I think he's going to return to form. I don't know.

I don't know. We got to see he had a lot to prove for me on my list. What exactly do you expect to happen with Deshaun Watson?

Deshaun Watson, he got something to prove because he should come out like, hey, I'm still that guy. I can still tow it. I can still tow it. That's it? That's what I need to see. I need to see can he still play football? I think you don't lose that.

I don't think he's lost that. But go ahead. I don't know.

I don't know. That's all I have. I will replace him with Michael Thomas, but there we go. Okay. All right. Well, Michael Thomas ain't playing three years. So, I mean, I hear you to each his own, but I think Deshaun Watson will be just fine.

I think he will. Okay. All right. See everybody later.

Marco Belletti, Dave, and you J.R.T. All right. You be safe out there. Did anybody try to whoop your ass recently? Yeah, but you know how that goes.

They know what time it is. All right. It's tough out there. Be safe, David. Okay. All right now. All right.

Bye bye. Every time he calls up, every time he calls up, I can't help but think about the people that he's taking their cars away. And I get it. They didn't pay their bill, but I mean, damn, that don't make it.

Oh, man, what a job. Can you imagine? And I don't.

Okay, fine. You're not paying the bill. Can you imagine just waking up and your car's gone?

And I guess it's reasonable you didn't pay the bill, but I mean, damn. And he's just running around at night, just snatching up cars, taking them back off the street, going off to people's driveways, maybe, and just hitching up the car and leaving. Is a repo man, is it insulting to call a repo man sneaky?

Hey, Shep, is it? No, I think they want to be sneaky, right? Yeah, they want to be sneaky, but I mean, damn, I can imagine people want to be violent to him and fight him. And that's why he run around doing it at night. Here's the thing, though, with David. Correct me if I'm wrong, Jr.

He's been calling for a long time and he is nothing but pleasant. Would you agree? Yeah, but there's no pleasant way to come pick up a car. And so that doesn't make sense to me. Like this is this.

This is too nice. Exactly. This is from a bird's eye view. Now, it's different because I live in a major city, so there's most people don't have cars here. But when you live in rural areas, that is your number one way to make a livelihood and living for yourself to provide for a likelihood of a family. And you are taking that gift, that mode of transportation, that absolute engine away from somebody to provide for their family. How can you smile and feel good about that type of occupation when you're not not only not enhancing anyone's life, you're humiliating people. You are taking away from their ability to do something basic for themselves and for their family.

How can you be happy about that? Damn, it's his job. Well, you're not paying a bill, so he's coming to take what you don't. It don't belong to you. You got to pay the bill, Jr.

There's people that will argue from a much bigger perspective and say there's a lot of people that make billions of dollars in this country that are in debt that go bankrupt because they can't pay bills and there's no one repossessing anything of theirs, especially when it comes to making a car payment. Oh, well, we know that the world ain't fair, but it's as simple as possible. If you sign on the dotted line and say you're going to do something and you don't do it, they take it back. It's that simple. Everybody knows that.

It's not a secret. Yeah, I know. I understand that, but I think- I mean, we can think about society in an equal world. We'd have everybody have something to eat. That ain't what it is.

It's disgusting. Listen- I mean, we got one person on earth who could solve a lot of issues, but that's not how the way the world works. Listen, find somebody. That's one thing. If you were taking away someone's, again, mode of transportation to earn a living, that's a problem. David is- David, do you have a car? You don't have a car in New York, right?

I do not have a car, no. He's going to take something that belongs to you. You better watch it. I love David. David ain't going to touch any possessions of mine. I'll tell you that right now. He may take your phone. No, he's not. I work too damn hard to pay the cell phone bill and everything else in my life.

No one is touching anything that belongs to me. Oh, well, if you don't pay it, then he'll take it. Yeah, he wishes. What is he supposed to do? He's supposed to knock and reason with somebody?

No, in fairness, he's a byproduct of the system. Doing his job. Yeah, he's being told what to do. It's not like he has any kind of volition over this. It's not like he has an independent thinking.

He's doing what he's told. I get it, but I just think it's a terrible system when you are taking away such a necessity from somebody. There has to be better ways to get someone to do something. What are they supposed to do if you don't pay the bill? Well, I think- And it's not like you- It's called interest. It's called interest.

If they are repossessing your car, you are already paying interest on a vehicle and you have already not paid plenty of times for them to come take your vehicle. I think there has to be a medium. I think there has to be a balance here.

I don't know the medium, man. Hey, we're trying to collect payment on the vehicle. You didn't pay. Hey, we need our money. You didn't pay. We need our money.

You didn't pay. What else is there to do besides just come get it? If your next door neighbor says, hey, Bob, yeah, sure, you could use my lawnmower. He's like, yeah, sure.

And then you use it, right? And he's like, hey, I need the lawnmower back because I need to cut my own grass. And you're like, I got more grass to cut. And you're like, he's like, I need my lawnmower the next day. And then one day the lawnmower is just sitting in the front of his yard.

You're going to go talk to him and you're going to take your lawnmower back. Well, honestly, that's theft. That's larceny.

I'm calling the cops. It's not theft. It's not theft. If you sign on a line to have a car and you don't pay for it and you just keep it and keep it and keep it and keep it and keep it and keep it, like, how's that?

That's okay. It's not theft. But the premise is the same. You made an agreement and you're not living up to it. So they're taking back what belongs to them.

The car don't belong to you. Yeah, but there's health factors involved. People get sick.

People get into hospitals all the time, unfortunately. People have to pay for kids. There's extenuating circumstances. It's just every situation is different. I don't feel like for, I don't feel most people, whether it's having a credit card line, whether it's having any kind of debt, I don't think most people sign up for something and say to themselves, how can I weasel my way out of not paying for something? I think most people can't pay for things because life situations and circumstances overcome, you know, specific monetary payments that we're trying to make. And so therefore, I'd like to just see a little more grace than someone having the job and jurisdiction and designation to come along and take maybe the most arguable, important possession you have in your life, which is a car. I just think there's better ways to do it. That's all.

If people, if big companies had grace, they wouldn't have no money. I don't know about that. Look, I'd be, I don't like getting on the subway in New York.

I hate it. I've done it enough in life. Man, if I could waltz my ass right onto the subway without paying, I sure would.

I sure would. Well, that's, that's, you know, that, that's different because... That's theft. I'm stealing services.

That's theft. I can tell you, I can tell you there are a hundred times I have done this where I see people enclosed with holes in them. And I see people that smell and you know, they have not taken a shower in probably a month.

And I see them literally struggling. And I will tell you, there's a lot of people, more often than not, they have unlimited metro cards. They don't have those, you know, 275, you know, on their car. I used to have unlimited metro cards. Exactly. I obviously have that. I'm a New Yorker.

I've lived here for, anyone who lives in a major city, they're likely going to have an unlimited car per month. And so when I see people looking very disheveled, I will go up to them and say, I'm happy to swipe for you. Do you need me to swipe? And 99% of the time, my judgment is accurate. They will say, yes, I don't have any money.

Thank you so much. So I just think people need to come together and help one another. Cause I am fortunate. I'm lucky to have a job that I can make enough money where I can get by. There's some people because of unforeseen circumstances that don't have that same luxury because life hit them sideways. And it's a lot of times not even their fault. And I like to live in a society where you're not repossessing cars as a solution to trying to get someone to pay money back. It's not trying to get them to pay money back. It's trying to take back what belongs to them.

There's a difference. They've tried that already and they ain't get no money. So they get the car. Hey, listen, 855-212-4CBS. Shep is paying car notes. So just call up and Shep will pay your car note. I'm about to give Shep my information so he could pay mine. It's the JR Sportbree Show here on CBS Sports Radio.

We'll get some more of your quotes on the other side. Don't move. You're listening to the JR Sportbrief on CBS Sports Radio. You're listening to the JR Sportbrief on CBS Sports Radio. JR, I gotta say, you are the smartest guy in radio.

You are. You know what? If I can give you a SP tonight, you deserve a SP for this Top 6 list.

Call in now at 855-212-4CBS. An SP? An SP?

I don't want no SP. What am I gonna do with that? Use it as a paperweight? I don't even really have paper.

Like everything digital. Speaking of SP, guess who's getting in the Hall of Fame this weekend for Naismith? The Hall of Fame? Yeah. I don't know. What happened?

Jimmy V, man. It's about time. Oh, really? Yes. Wow. Damn. Where's this taking place?

Well, obviously Springfield. Oh, basketball? Yeah, yeah. Saturday. What's the award?

He's getting in as a contributor to the Naismith Hall of Fame. Damn. It's already this week? Yeah. The only reason I know that is because I'm actually doing the show at Sirius XL.

I'm actually hosting the show. That's why I know he's getting in. It's like, damn.

The whole Basketball Hall of Fame already? Yeah. I know. It came fast. Sheesh. That pulled up quick.

It's a great class, man. D. Wade, Nowitzki, Parker, Gasol, Pop. Why is Paul Pierce running around still crapping on Dwayne? Now, he's an insecure dude, man. He's got to stay relevant. And I think when he was pushed out the door because of off the court behavior at ESPN, he just found himself in no man's land. And this is how he stays in our good graces.

I thought when you drink and smoke, you're supposed to chill the hell out. He's just angry. Yeah. Well, he's no Pat McAfee. Oh, wow. Maybe Pat McAfee can give him a job. Oh, that's right.

He got fired from ESPN. Oh, anyway. Anyway. 855-2124 CBS. Shout outs to the repo man for calling up. Sed is here from Chicago. What's up, Sed? There you are. Oh, my God.

You got the worst Bluetooth on earth. You call him? Oh, he's calling me from Mars.

Oh, Sed, fix that, brother. Kevin is here from Illinois as well. You're on CBS Sports Radio. Go ahead, Kevin. Hey, JR, I love the show.

First time caller on the list. I think a player should be on the fringe of that. It's not from a talent standpoint, just being healthy. He's about one concussion away from not having a career.

Right. Well, he certainly, and thank you, Kevin, for calling from Illinois. We know he said he considered retirement.

I mean, not good when you just got into the league and you already got to think about your life and longevity is dangerous, man. Vlad is calling from Chicago. What's up, Vlad?

Oh, everybody listening on the score, huh? Vlad, you're on CBS Sports Radio. What's up, man? Grandmaster of Radio.

How you doing today? Oh, thank you, Grandmaster. Thanks. I got you, man. Yeah, I just got back from the White Sox game, man. I was watching the battle of mid and your boy Aaron Judge didn't show up today. I'm kind of disappointed. Okay.

Is there a reason why he's messed up today? What are you asking me? I've never met Aaron Judge in my life. I don't know. Wow, that's surprising. I thought you knew everybody.

I don't know everybody. But anyway, I wanted to talk about the Justin Fields thing, man. I think that's the right choice, man. I feel like he's going to flourish. He has the right weapons around him. As long as those old linemen keep him up right now, he's going to flourish, man. I hope he can have a similar season to Jalen Hurts. But that won't happen this year. It might happen next season. We can't win them all. But luckily, next year, he has the right weapons.

And everything around him, he'll flourish. That's all I got to say. Yeah, certainly. Thank you, Vlad, for calling from Chicago. Let's go to Annapolis.

It's Robert. You're on CBS Sports Radio. Hey, JR. On your list of the top six worst jobs of all time, would Repo Man make that? I don't give our worst jobs.

If you're making money and you're doing it legitimately, it's number one. What else you got? All right, my friend. I immediately thought of Lamar Jackson. Of course, I'm a Ravens fan. You named him. How about Justin Herbert? He got the biggest NFL bag of money there is. And he's a good player. He's got good players with him. And he really hasn't accomplished anything.

A terrible loss in that playoff game last year. Would he be someone you could give thought to? No, I think that has more so to do with his head coach and Stanley. I think it has more to do with everything around him. He is so cool, too cool for school. I don't think he is bothered. I don't think there's anything that's really going to move him or shift him one way or another. He's an amazing talent.

He stays in the background. I think he's so cool. I'm not worried about Justin Herbert with anything to prove.

I think at some point in time, yeah, he might break through, maybe get to an AFC championship game. But it has more to do with the organization and less about him. He's his absolute. Well, I'll stay with Lamar Jackson then. You had him on your list.

So you're both linking on him for a minute there. Okay. Well, thank you, Robert, for calling from Annapolis. 855-212-4CBS.

That's 855-212-4CBS. I'm going to get some more of your calls before we roll out. I do want to give you some positive news as well on the legacy of Kobe Bryant and how he's about to be honored in the near future and next year as well.

I'll share that with you. Get some more of your calls. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief on CBS Sports Radio. Hey, JR, check this out, man. This is my first time getting through to you, but I've been listening to you all the time, and boy, you keep it on the 100. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief.

Call in now at 855-212-4CBS. It is the JR Sport Brief show on CBS Sports Radio. Talked about NFL players with the most to prove this upcoming season, I got Justin Fields, number one on my list. Tonight, fans in Philadelphia, if you were at Citizens Bank Ballpark, you were able to witness a no-hitter, Michael Lorenzen pitching a no-hitter in his second appearance as a Philadelphia Philly being traded over from the Tigers. We talked about a little bit of the Philly being traded over from the Tigers. We talked about Ron Rivera putting his foot in his mouth, letting everybody know that his players are soft, and Eric Bienemey is too tough.

It's been a busy night, and this is some news I wanted to share as well before we roll out and before I get to the calls again. It's Kobe Bryant news, two pieces of Kobe Bryant news. For all my sneaker out there, Nike has announced a new Kobe Bryant shoe that is expected to drop on August 23rd.

This is the Halo series. You might recall after Kobe's passing, unfortunately, it appeared to be some, I don't want to call it beef, but there wasn't certainty as to Kobe Bryant's relationship with Nike at his passing, what the future might be. His shoes were some of the most worn in the NBA at the time of his passing, and there has been a new deal between Kobe Bryant's estate, his wife, and Nike, and so we will have a new Kobe Bryant shoe dropping on August 23rd. I'm real interested to see what that shoe looks like.

Those low tops were ridiculously popular. I would say then Kyrie Irving's shoe was very popular, and we know what happened with Kyrie and how John Moran's supposed to be the next big face of Nike, and we all know what that looks like. The other bit of Kobe Bryant news, next year, reportedly, the Los Angeles Lakers are going to have a Kobe Bryant statue outside of crypto.com arena. This statue is set to incorporate his daughter Gigi. Somehow, someway, it's going to pay respects to both of his numbers that he wore, 8 and 24, and it's expected that the Lakers will share this on August 8th of next year, which would be 8-8-2024. And so we'll find out more information as Kobe Bryant is set to have a statue also involving his daughter some type of way.

He's going to join Magic and Shaq and Baylor, Chick Hearn, Kareem, some of the statues that are outside of crypto.com arena, the former Staples Center. 8-5-5-2-1-2 for CBS. That's 8-5-5-2-1-2 for CBS. Let's talk to Seth from Chicago. I tried to talk to him, and it seemed that he was on a Bluetooth speaker five miles from wherever his phone was.

Seth, you're on CBS Sports Radio. What's up? Tell y'all what's going on, bro.

My bad. I ain't done this with you in a while, bro. So, you know, I got to get that warmed up. Well, thank you. I'm glad you're here. What'd you like to say?

No, I said I'm glad you're here with a working phone. What's up? Nothing much, bro, man. First, I want to apologize for not tuning in for the past few months. You know, I come to the conclusion in my ears that, uh, yeah, we're going to come back home and listen to CBS Sports Radio with you, bro. So, uh, good to be back.

Okay. But, uh, yeah, what I got, uh, man, everybody, I love my man, Justin Fields, but, man, we got, we got to pay attention to the guy who was just the first, the quarterback that was just ahead of him at Trey Lance, but nobody said nothing about Trey, man. He's been injured.

He ain't really, you know, lived up to too much of anything, but I would definitely have Trey Lance on that list as well, man. Uh, yeah, because, yeah, he'd be coming up on a contract here as well, if I'm not mistaken. So yeah, he got, he got something to show too.

Yeah, we'll see if he, we'll see if he gets an opportunity to play. Yes, sir. But yeah, other than that, man, you know, I, I still, I still got that desk for you, man, that you had asked for a few, a while ago, but, uh, if you ever want it, you got, you got what for me, dust or desk?

So you remember you had asked about that, that desk, that, that, that, that's, uh, electric that moves up and down. I told, you know, I drive trucks, I'd be delivering for this office to probably play. When is it going to get here to Atlanta?

Where's it getting here? Whenever I get an address, brother. I'll give you a, Hey, I'll give you an address. Okay. Yeah.

Message, message me and I'll tell you where to send it. Okay. Is it stolen? If it's stolen, I don't want it. Oh no, bro.

Everything is certified. I'm a good man. I don't, I don't steal. Okay. Oh, okay. I don't know.

You know, maybe you didn't have to be the one to steal it, but you, you couldn't be delivering stolen goods. I don't know. I'll give you an address.

We, uh, we, we would, we would get over here. All right. Hey, get rid of all these repo man. Oh, okay. All right. You selling stolen goods, but you want to get rid of the repo man. Uh, listen, I said, you know how to find me.

So just message me somehow, some way and I'll make sure I get you an address. Okay. All right. You have a good one.

And I thank you said for calling from Chicago. Hey Shep, I swear them desks are stolen, man. He going to send me a stolen desk. He doesn't sound like someone that would, uh, be associated with that kind of nonsense. They are. What does a thief sound like?

Not like said. Okay. Alan is calling from Toronto. You're on CBS sports radio.

He sounds like a thief. Yes. I'm going to be heading down to Atlanta and I'm going to be going to either the Tampa Bay game on December the 10th or Indianapolis on, on December 24th from our city's bench stadium. So if I get an address, I'm definitely going to call you for sure. You're going to call me. You want to hang out with me? You bet.

I do. Yep. Oh yeah.

Nah, you hang you. What? You said, you said, uh, Christmas Eve. Yeah. Christmas Eve. Yeah. Okay. Don't expect that one. What's the other game?

December the 10th against Tampa Bay. Oh, well maybe. Yeah. So yeah, before you come, just, just hit me up. I'll make sure that, that I'll see you. If I'm in town, you can bet. I'll make some time where we can hang out.

What else you got? Uh, two heads had tiger. Oh yeah. I get tongue tied whenever I see him. He has to stay on the field. He, uh, I would suggest he called Brett Favre because Brett Favre was doing something right. He played on the frozen tundra of green Bay in bitter cold temperatures all the time. And two was down in Miami and he's getting more. Brett Favre was on pain drugs, bruh. Oh, okay.

That's a different story then. But he is, uh, two is at the crossroads now. Will he step forward? Will he step back?

Will he stay put? He has a passer rating of 95%. And the, uh, he's, uh, he had 3,548 yards last year, 25 CDs and eight interceptions, an average of 2,272 yards a game. So if he stays healthy, he could reach the 4,500 mark, possibly the 5,000 mark. Tyreke Hill, and thank you Alan for calling from Toronto. Hit me up when you get here. I know we'll talk a bunch before then. Tyreke Hill wants 2,000 yards.

So I guess two is going to have to stay healthy. Don from Birmingham. We're up against a break. Go ahead quickly.

Yeah. Hey, uh, I want to tell you that that record driver, David ain't nothing but a thief. He pulled your car. It's got all your personal belongings in it. He's stealing your stuff. And, uh, the quarterback Aaron, uh, is Aaron Rogers got to prove his stuff.

Aaron Rogers got what? He got to prove his stuff. Oh, he has to prove himself. Okay. Yeah. Well, thank you. Everybody's going to look pretty stupid if he, if he messes up. Oh, okay. I think, I think he'll be okay. I understand.

I feel, you know, he has to prove that he's, uh, he's still got something in the tank. Hey, thank you, Don, for calling from Birmingham. He's like, Hey, if the repo man comes and takes your car and your stuff is in the car, then the repo man is stealing your stuff. Is it stealing your stuff if you're stuffing a car that you didn't pay for that doesn't belong to you?

It's a chicken or the egg thing. I don't know. Hey, shout out to all the other repo men. I know there's more, uh, more repo men out there. Just repossessing cars. Yeah.

Do what y'all got to do to make money. Anyway. Hey Shep, I'll be back tomorrow, right? Yes, sir.

I'm not being repossessed. I'm still here. Yes, sir. 10 PM Eastern seven Pacific. If you missed a minute of the show, you can hit rewind on the free Odyssey app. I'll be back tomorrow.

10 Eastern seven Pacific. Thank you so much to super producer and host Dave Shepherd, holding things down in New York. Much love to much love to myself here in Atlanta, everybody listening in Atlanta and tuned in all over North America.

The preseason is back folks, NFL games, more of them tomorrow. And we'll talk about everything else going on in the world of sports, but don't move here on CBS Sports Radio. I'll be back tomorrow, but coming up next, who is it Shep? Amy Lawrence. Amy Lawrence is coming up next. Don't show move here on CBS Sports Radio.
