The Carolina Panthers are in the Bay Area, getting ready to take on the San Francisco. of 49ers. This might be a little bit of, not even might, this is a revenge game. For Christian McCaffrey. Keep in mind, he was traded from the Carolina Panthers to the San Francisco 49ers.

If 49ers play today, they play again on Sunday. We talked about the Dallas Cowboys, that big comeback. Against the Philadelphia Eagles. Joe Hoyt is going to join us from DLLS Cowboys. Looking forward to that conversation.

Cowboys now have a record of five, five and one. We got into the Chiefs bouncing back. We talked about the Dallas Cowboys, of course. The Ravens. Ravens have won five straight games.

Looking good for them. Eagles not looking good, but not worried about em. Rate is five there. Offensive coordinator Chip Kelly. Giants fire their defensive coordinator, Shane Bowen.

And we got more to get into as the show continues on. I do want to talk about Matthew Stafford. Guy's playing out of his mind right now. He is going to win NFL MVP this season the way that he is going. Oh, hey, Arch Manning had a good game too over the weekend.

He's running, he's passing, he's catching, he's doing all of the things.

Next hour, we'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history. And then we got some uh unfortunate news over the weekend as well. We got college athletes stabbing their teammates. It's just It's bad out here. Either way, if you want to be a part of the show, you can do that.

Here's the phone number. You can call up: 888-710-57. For ISN. That's 888-710-45. 4-I-S-N.

We are just waiting. You know, Bachi, here's the crazy thing about being live on the radio. While Monday Night Football's going on. I have no idea what the theme song sounds like. None.

Oh, it's an it uh It's Chris Stapleton and Snoop Dogg, isn't it? Yeah, or is that the other one? I don't know. I can see, I saw Snoop Dogg. I can see who's player.

I don't know what it sounds like. I could see who's doing the performance, but I have no idea what it sounds like. I have no idea. trying to visualize what song it is. You're trying to visualize what you're talking about.

Yeah, because it's like a cover. It's a cover of a song. Waiting all day for Monday night, Sunday night, I don't know. Basically, that's the Sunday one.

Well, botcha. That lends to my point. I'm here in the studio. I have no idea what it sounds like.

So. I'm not going to try to visualize what it sounds like. I don't think that'll help. I can visualize I got Troy Aikman in front of me and Joe Buck. Let's see what this game looks like.

Hey, I'm going with the Niners at home. What do you think is going to happen here? I do think the Panthers will make it a closed game just because I don't think the 49ers, with their current state of health, can blow any team out. But I just I don't hate the Panthers. I just don't see how they're going to be above 500 for the most of the year.

Yeah, let's see. I mean the NFC South is trash. Tampa Bay is certainly dealing with injuries. We learned today that Baker Mayfield, who suffered a sprained AC joint in his shoulder yesterday, trying to make a A big throw against the Rams. We don't know if he's going to be out.

They said there's no further rule, further rule. They said there's no further structural damage. to his shoulders.

So we just have to wait and see. I did. The Buccaneers have just been destroyed by injuries dating back to last year. Think about Good win and and His leg. and still trying to make a full recovery.

Or Godwin. You think about Mike Evans and his hamstring issues and Then his arm and broken clavicle, and now Baker Mayfield's getting busted up. He looked like an early candidate for MVP. It's certainly been real rough. For the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

So, who knows? Maybe by default the Carolina Panthers can end up on top. We know ain't nothing good coming out of New Orleans with the Saints. The Falcons are too far down the eight ball. and so just possibly may be here.

Yeah, we'll see something good coming out of uh the Panthers, that'd be nuts. 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN. Let's hit the phone lines. And then we we gotta talk about the guy who is uh He's jumped in front of everybody when it comes down to MVP.

That's Matthew Stafford. Rashawn is here from Baltimore. You're on the JR Sport Reef Show. What's up, Rashawn? Going once.

Going twice. Bye, Rashawn. Eight eight eight seven ten four I S N. That's 888-710-4ISN. Let's hit the fast-forward button.

Let's talk about the man. Before we talk to Joe Hoyt about the Dallas Cowboys, let's talk about the dude that ultimately, as it stands right now, is going to win. MVP. It's Matthew Stafford. Every single game Matthew Stafford wakes up.

And kinda how Miles Garrett comes through and just sacks You know, four or the quarterback four, five times, three times. Every single game. Matthew Stafford is rolling out of bed. And I don't know, his bad back at the beginning of the season where he didn't practice. Maybe that was a load of crap.

Because this dude is is feeling good, he's feeling energized. Matthew Stafford Is going to be 38 in February? He's thrown a thirty touchdowns. To two interceptions. Let me say that again.

Thirty touchdowns. to two interceptions. The Rams are crazy right now. We got a ram squad yesterday. They go out there.

and they beat the Buccaneers thirty four to seven. The defense is insane for the Rams, led by Jared Vurse. The offense is insane, led by Matthew Stafford. You got another old guy, Devontae Adams, leads the NFL with 12 touchdown passes. The guy looked cooked.

Playing for the New York Jets. And then you got Puka Nakua. If he's healthy, he just goes out there and he's running through a football or he's running through a wall. He's like Cam Scatterboo for wide receivers. He's not afraid of nothing.

He plays the game, not like a wide receiver, he plays like he's a linebacker. The Rams are 9-2. Stafford is playing out of his mind. And I told you, the next game is against Carolina. You want to know what's going to happen in that game?

I think the Rams are going to end up going 10. Ensu. The offense is clicking. The defense is clicking. And Matthew Stafford, unless there's some massive change.

He's going to win MVP. Matthew Stafford kept it very, very simple. He says, listen, man, we just going out there and we're getting the job done. Just execution. You know, we've done a nice job of executing early in the game.

Not every game, but. done a nice job of you know making sure that We're getting into a little bit of a rhythm early on in games. I think obviously Sean's doing a great job of setting us up to go out there and play well, and then we've gone out there and executed. You see, okay. That's what that's what a team guy says.

Devontae Adams, the guy who's been on the receiving end of 12 of those 30 touchdowns, he echoes the easy sentiment that I just made. He says, This guy's the MVP, Matthew Stafford is. I mean he's playing like the most valuable player in the in the league. I mean you can see it in the numbers, the way he's taking command of the huddle and the offense. You know, the way him and Sean put things together and worked throughout the week together to put together a good product for us, just all around.

I mean, he's a great leader and obviously knows how to put points on the board and keep this offense moving. Yeah, it's pretty crazy. We haven't heard anything about his back.

Okay, all offseason, all training camp. Matthew Stafford isn't playing. Matthew Stafford needed an Epiduro. Matthew Stafford, oh my God, how is he going to make it through the season? He looks fine to me.

I don't know. Maybe they're shooting up the damn guy's back every single game, but he looks fine to me. The way things are rolling as it stands right now, the Rams, I think they're the best team. in the NFL. If we had to boil it down to an NFC championship game, it looks like we'd have the Rams.

And I still think the Eagles will be okay, but I think we might be looking at the Rams and the Eagles again. The only difference this time is, uh You know, maybe injuries don't don't kind of take things or or change the course. Of the postseason. This is what Sean McVay had to say about his quarterback, Matthew Stafford. He's in total command.

I think he's got a lot of trust in the teammates that he's playing with. And, you know, there's a true ownership. And I think he's just totally and completely present. And he's really just enjoying the opportunity to compete week in and week out. Yeah, this guy is the M VP, I don't even know who else.

You can go ahead and and give it to at this point. What are we doing? You know, if we think about How things stand. The MVP odds. You can look at Jonathan Taylor.

They ain't giving it to no damn running back. That ain't happening. Drake May with the New England Patriots? No, sir. I ain't givin' it to no a second year dude.

Josh Allen, the Buffalo Bills have been too up, they've been too down. Matthew Stafford is going to be MVP. I think it's a very good thing.

Okay? The only way this doesn't happen is if he gets injured, if he gets hurt. We'll see how things bear out. The next time we will see these these Rams I told you. They will be out here.

Winning another game because this is what the hell they do. As the season moves on, Against Carolina. Yeah, Carolina better be careful. They could lose tonight and next week. 888-710-4ISN.

That's 888-710-4ISN. Let's look at the phone lines. Jeff is here. From Minnesota. You're on the JR Sport Ree show, Jeff.

What's up? Thanks, JR, man. I just love listening to you. You've got a laid back analysis, and it's spot on. I just want to give you kudos for that, sir.

Thank you. What's up? I'm talking about the Minnesota Vikings and Yeah, I know. I know, dude. I said this at the beginning of the season, we got a problem up here, and everyone's starting to see it now.

And I think KOC Is on the verge of ruining JJ McCarthy, in my opinion, with no veteran quarterback ahead of him to teach him. And on the second thing, I just want to give kudos out to the Chicago Bears because I thought they were going to go Pretty much a long way, and they're proving me right.

So I'll hang up and Hear what you have to say about that, sir.

Okay. Thank you so much, Jeff, for calling up from Minnesota.

Now, he's referencing. The head coach, Kevin O'Connell, who in a lot of cases is recognized as being. A genius, okay? People look at what he did last year with Sam Donald and they go, Oh my god, Kevin O'Connell can work. With anybody, even when he played, even up into his coaching time, his time coaching, people looked at him and just said, Okay, this guy can work with a Q B.

And so there was an understanding. That selecting J.J. McCarthy, this was the knock, if there was one. We saw what he did in college. But he was not asked to throw the living hell.

out of the football. And here at the NFL level, what has J.J. McCarthy been? I mean, he was hurt out all last year with a knee injury. This season, he's dealing with a leg injury.

As it stands right now, J.J. McCarthy is now in concussion protocol. And he's just busted up all over the place. And I mean, the guy who was ahead of him on a death chart. Carson Wentz, uh Carson Wentz is on injured.

Reserve. He's done. He had a shoulder injury. He's cooked. And so now the Minnesota Vikings, if they're going to consider, well, they got no choice but to continue, they got to play the games.

Max Brosmer. is going to get this the chance to start. And he ain't nobody.

Okay, this guy, what is he throwing? One pass, two passes? Any entire NFL? I know people will be excited about him because he's from Minnesota. But it ain't nothin' exciting here.

About the Minnesota Vikings and J.J. McCarthy, well, one thing that he's going to have to learn. He's going to have to learn how to not get knocked the hell around. And then the other thing, and this is going to take time, he's still in essence a rookie. Bruh, don't turn the ball over.

It is too much hero ball. And when you think about the Minnesota Vikings and their depth chart and who they have to work with, he has some of the best wide receivers and some of the best options in the game: Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, Aaron Jones. I know he's a little bit older, but he can still go out there and be a threat, at least in the passing game. Not so much this season as he's dealt with some of his own injuries. I just was never.

Me personally, can J.J. McCarthy turn things around? Sure. Maybe. Possibly.

I know he had that big first game where he was losing and he led the comeback early this year and everybody was all excited about it. I I just you gotta prove it to me, man. You didn't have to throw the ball around in school. Yo'll ran the ball, yo' ran the rock. The defense held it down for Michigan.

and all you had to do, Was Game Managed?

Well, welcome to the NFL You can't win with a game manager. You've got to have somebody out there who just lights it. Up. Eight eight eight seven ten four I S N It's 888-710-4ISN. Hey, let's get a call in quickly before we get to Joe Hoyt, who covers the Dallas Cowboys.

Jake from the Bronx is here in the J.R. Sport Re Show. What's up, Jake? How are you doing, Jer? How are you?

Go quick. Thank you, man. I appreciate you. I'm good. What is my coach of the year?

Either Ben Johnson or Mike Vrabel? Oh, man. They're going to give it to Mike Vrabel. I know these are well, Ben Johnson overall, a first-time head coach. You got Mike Vrabel, who's back in a coaching capacity with the New England Patriots.

I think Vrabel is going to get it. New England Patriots, they're 10-2. I don't think anybody expected the combination of him and May to have this much success early. We saw a little bit of what Caleb Williams was capable of, but it seems like the Chicago Bears are 8-3, but are they out here just destroying people? No.

Actually, throughout the course of the season, I mean, they have given up. More points than they have gone out there and scored. The New England Patriots are just. Kind of beating the hell out of everybody.

So I think Vrabel is going to go ahead and pick that up.

Okay, Jake? Yep, I got you. Thank you so much. Shout outs to Jake from the Bronx, New York. Yeah, I love the Bronx, where I'm from.

888-710-4ISM. We're going to take a break. When we come back, You know what? L let's talk about. Let's talk about the Cowboys.

Okay, they picked up that victory against the Eagles. We're going to be joined by Joe Hoyt. who covers all things cowboys. For the DLLS Cowboys Show. You're locked in.

Got the Carolina Panthers down in Santa Clara getting, well, not getting ready. They are taking on the San Francisco 49ers. We'll keep you up to date on that game as it continues on. We had a lot of great games yesterday, many of them coming down to the wire. And then we had a damn good game between the Dallas Cowboys, of course, and the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Cowboys coming back from a 21-0 deficit to beat the Eagles 24-21. The Cowboys, who likes to tie nobody, they got five wins, five losses, and that. Yeah. Offense is still lighting things up. Quentin Williams helping on the interior of that defense.

What's next? For the Dallas Cowboys as they get ready to take on the Chiefs Thursday, of course, on that Thanksgiving game. And more importantly, can these Dallas Cowboys still kind of squeak their way into the postseason? Joining us right now to talk about all things Cowboys is someone who covers them for the Dallas Morning News. And let's welcome back Joe Hoyt.

Joy, how are you, man? Yeah, it's good to talk to you, JR. All the time.

Well, we we saw what took place. We know this Cowboys' offense can go ahead and put up the points with Pickens and then also Lamb. But now they they got this this defense.

So what impact has Quentin Williams already had in just two games? Yeah, I think his impact can't be understated, frankly. And let's start on the field. I mean, you know, that it's allowed them to do more five-downs runs, which kind of shocked the Eagles a little bit, but that's something they've been kind of doing for a little while. And what he's kind of doing right now is allowing guys that they've already paid.

To kind of accelerate and be in their best positions. Like, look at Osa Digizua, for example, a guy they extended this offseason. With Quinn and Williams there, he doesn't get double teamed as much, which allows more one-on-one matchups.

So far in two games, he and Quinn Williams have combined 28 pressures together from the interior. And because they're getting that interior pressure, it's allowing guys like Deron Gland, who made his money On kind of predicting pressure against the quarterback and making jumps, it's allowed him to play a lot better too. And the other thing about Quinn Williams is he's added such a veteran leadership element to this group. You know, they had a behind the scenes kind of Mic'd up situations with the Las Vegas Raiders. And you could hear Quentin Williams teaching the rest of the guys on the fly how to attach certain guys based on the previous play.

And you talked to a lot of guys in that locker room. Quentin Williams has not only been a difference maker on the field, but in the locker room in terms of how he's helping others as well. Joe Hoyt is here with us, covers the Dallas Cowboys for the Dallas Morning News. We know it's been an interesting season defensively for the Dallas Cowboys. Of course, they trade away Micah Parsons.

They get Kenny Clark in return to put him on a defensive line. And Jerry Jones made and has made it a point over months to just say, hey, but we're going to get better. And they made the trades to get better.

Now that Micah is gone, and yes, it's only been a few months, do you think the move makes sense or is it still still too soon? You know, I think the move makes sense when you consider that that's what they wanted to do. I think, you know, I think if you look at kind of the Dallas Cowboys for a while. They've been trying to find run defenders on the interior for a long time. It's why they used a first-round pick on Mozzie Smith.

They swung and missed a lot. You know, they haven't had an interior defensive lineman this talented probably since Leroy Gluther, and you go back two decades, right?

So, with this Cowboys defensive line, I think that was something they wanted to do. And they looked at Micah Parsons as yes. He is fantastic when we have leads. But we can't rush the passer if we're in games or we're behind and players or teams are trying to run the ball and beat us that way. They believe that that was kind of the root cause of a lot of their playoffs' lack of success.

You know, in recent memory is just their ability not to stop the run.

So when they make the Micah Parsons trade, you know, obviously that's something. That's that's a pretty significant move that we all judge very you know, with a lot of scrutiny and very cynically. But I will say, you know, when you then turn some of those picks into getting a guy like Quentin Williams, who they wanted. When they were shopping Micah Parsons. That was a guy that they would have traded Micah Parsons to the Jets if they had Quentin Williams and some other things in return.

They not only get Quentin Williams, but they get Kenny Clark. And now they have a defensive front that it's still weird for me to say JR is playing really, really well. I mean, the fact that they've allowed 90 rushing yards and 30 carries over the last two games. That feels like an anomaly that they haven't seen here in a long, long time. But now it's starting to feel like a resurgence.

Well, we know that this defense is trying to catch up with the offense. The line is certainly doing well. You mentioned Bland. What's the deal with Diggs? Are we going to see him back on the field at any point?

You know, there's kind of that air of uncertainty about Victoria Fontex's future here, to be honest with you. I mean, Jerry Jones has been pretty frank about. you know, what he thinks in terms of Trayvon Diggs coming back. You know, he was asked last week on the radio, you know, about that. He says, I don't think any of us really know.

We'll kind of see. And so they have an out in his contract after this year. That is possible. In terms of this year, Thursday's game is a short week. He's not going to be activated even though he's eligible.

This week, Brian Schenheimer, though, said he's doing everything right. He's got a lot of positivity. Things are good. Um but it's kind of turning into one of those things where you know until it actually happens uh it's you know, it's hard to actually put a finger on when he's going to be back. I'll say this too.

I mean, they they like what they've got with the corners right now and Caitlin Carson, who's taking on a starting role, and they like Sivone Revel, the rookie third round pick, who they believe was a first round talent.

So I think that they feel a little bit confident about their corner room moving forward with or without Trayvon Diggs, but it'll be interesting to see when or if he plays again for the Dallas Cowboys. Oh, wow.

Well, we know one issue, speaking of injuries, we saw what the Cowboys did yesterday coming back against the Eagles, and Pickens was a big part of that, setting himself up for a nice payday at the conclusion of the season. A touchdown, 146 yards receiving. I heard that Pickens is a little busted up. We want to see him play on Thanksgiving. What's his status?

Yeah, he'll be good. You know, late confusion doesn't seem to be a lot of cause for concern there. You know, something he kind of played with at the end a little bit there, too.

So I think they feel good about Pickens, but to your point, JR, he has been. A difference maker for this team. And, you know, I mean, outside of Jackson, Smith, and Jigba, you know, and even arguably compared with them, I mean, this is one of the best receivers in the NFL the way he's played this season. You know, we looked at that trade as a gamble, you know, a huge gamble for them when they gave up third and a fifth.

Now it's looking like a steal. The question is, as you've kind of alluded to, what kind of money is he going to get now that he's an impending free agent? And I'll tell you what, yesterday's price for George Pickens is not today's price. And he continues to kind of raise that bar with how he plays.

Well, we know the Dallas Cowboys and Jerry Jones, they like to take everything to the wire, to the minute, knowing that all things considered, George Pickens has been a quote-unquote good soldier this season. What is this negotiation going to look like? And is there a space where he just says, oh, yeah, I'm just going to up and leave the Dallas Cowboys for more money somewhere? Like, is somebody even going to pay him more? What do you expect?

Yeah, it's funny because, you know, I just expect there to be a holdout every single year at Dallas Cowboys Training Camp when we go to Oxford now. And I'm kind of circling George Pickens as that name already, even though he's an impending free agent. I think he's been too valuable and too good for them to let him walk easily. I fully anticipate You know, a franchise tag type situation, if they can't come to an agreement with him before in terms of an extension, and then we'll see if a potential holdout arises from that. And the vibe I get from Pickens and from Jared Jones is that they're okay writing this out until the offseason.

Things are good right now. They don't feel any urgency to. to get that extension done before the end of this season. And once that happens, we'll kind of see there's still a lot of games left. Picking value could keep going up.

And it's very important to note that George Pickens is also represented by athletes first. He has direct representation. That's not David Mulligetta. But David Mulligetta is also involved with George Fickens. And obviously, we know how David Mulligetta and Jerry Jones.

kind of sparred a little bit this offseason. One thing we've been told is that That they don't harbor ill will against each other. It was just business in terms of Micah Parsons. As time goes on, it almost feels like the Cowboys were. Kind of interested in moving on from him before all the contract negotiations reached a standstill.

I don't think that that will entirely affect it, but it is worth noting as George Pickens is going to put himself in an interesting contract situation after this season. Joe Hoyd is here with us, covers all things Dallas Cowboys. The next time we'll see them on the field is that classic Thanksgiving game, this time hosting the Kansas City Chiefs. What do you expect from this game given what we've seen from the Cowboys over the past couple of weeks? Yeah, you know, I think one thing that I really wanted to see this past week was: were the defensive additions and changes were they real?

Were they legitimate? Is this a resurgence or was that a flash in the pan against a pretty bad Las Vegas Raiders team? And I'll be honest with you, GR, I'm pretty confident. After two games, that this is a team that has the potential to be a solid defense, which is all they need to be when the offense is playing as well as it is when Dak Prescott and Javante Williams. in George Pickens are doing what they're doing.

And CeeDee Lamb as well, when he kind of is firing on all cylinders.

So I think that they have the ability to be that on defense. I think with the Kansas City Chiefs kind of struggling to run the ball, This might come down to Kim Patrick Mahomes, make some Superhuman plays, which you know, as we all know, he's he's He's that's something he can do against the Cowboys defense that's playing pretty well.

So I expect it to be a fun one. I'm kind of riding with momentum. You know, they won back-to-back games for the first time all season, almost for the first time in an entire year. I kind of think that they hold on at home and the Kansas City Chiefs. Oh, wow.

Well, I mean, well, Joe, let's hit the fast forward button. If they're able to do that, they're now 6'5 and 1. They're 5'5 and 1 as it stands today. That record is going to change in a few days on Thanksgiving. Do you think these Dallas Cowboys can go to the postseason and have any type of impact?

I still think probably not because I just think the odds are against them. They dug themselves into a big hole, JR. And, you know, I posted it today. You know, I've been following ESCN's projections of percent chance that he makes the playoffs, right? And with that huge win over the Eagles yesterday, the Cowboys went from a 7% chance to make the playoffs to a 9% chance.

It's going to take a pretty near perfect ending to this season if they want a shot at the playoffs. I do think this though, JR, I think they're going to be a tough out for a lot of teams the rest of the way. And I do think with a first-year head coach and Brian Staunheimer that drew a lot of scrutiny and a lot of questions when they made that hire. I think kind of having a positive end of the season. you know, with some of the pieces that are going to have coming back, that could have some momentum, I think, into next year.

Okay. I mean, Dallas do Dallas Cowboy fans want to hear hear that? They got to wait another year? No. No, no, no.

They they're tired of this route, but I do think some of them will at least have a little bit more optimism heading into next season with a positive finish.

Well, let me ask you this, Joe, because we all know Dak Prescott nationally. He can go out there and get beat up. He's having another great season, if you ask me. Draymond Green just called him a bum a few weeks ago. Dak just shows up.

And he goes to work. I mean, what is the consensus and the feeling in the Metroplex with Dak? Are the fans just kind of used to him? Are they taking him for granted? Or are they what's the consensus?

Yeah, I think it's he's pretty polarizing here in Dallas, to be honest with you. And I think a lot of fans either love him or hate him. I think a lot of fans either say that he's an MVP type caliber guy or they think, how could you pay this one guy 60 million when he has no playoffs? Success or very little at that. And I think that that's kind of just what comes with being the quarterback of the Dallas Cavalry, especially amidst the drought they have.

I think there were some people that criticized Tony Romo. I don't know if it was to this level, though, to be honest with you, JR, but he is a polarizing guy, I think, even here in the Metroplex. Wow.

Well, we'll see what happens the rest of this season. But like you said, getting paid sixty mil, he is not going anywhere. Joe, we appreciate the time as always. Tell everybody where they can follow you and all of your work, keeping up with these Cowboys. Yeah, you can follow some stories I write on dallasnews.com and then follow me on social media at JoeJ.

Hoyt. And JR, always a pleasure to talk with you, man. Always a pleasure, man. Enjoy the holiday, okay, Joe? Yes, take care.

Happy Thanksgiving. Thank you so much. That Joe Hoyt covers all things Dallas Cowboys for the Dallas Morning News. Yeah, poor I can't call him poor. He's making sixty million dollars a year.

Poor Dak Prescott You can't catch a break. You can't. That was playoff record, what, two and five? And everybody just wants to beat him up every chance and every opportunity that they can go out there. And get.

I like Dak. I like he's accountable. He's not a jerk. He shows up. He goes to work.

I mean, it's not a lot of the other stuff. And you don't worry about anything outside. I don't know somebody going out there and breaking his ankle. Man, he goes out there, he plays, he plays hard. I like Dak Prescott.

Always accountable, doesn't say anything crazy, just shows up, works. puts up the numbers.

Now, do they have a team that supports him to do so? I don't think so all the time. And I think if he was given an ample chance to go into the postseason year after year after year, I think he'd get some better results. I don't think it's all on him. He can certainly do better.

But it's tough in the postseason. For years, even Aaron Rodgers, he's been criticized. I'm talking about younger Aaron Rodgers with the Packers. He was criticized. He'd get to the postseason and he'd be.

too careful and not aggressive enough. And so I think sometimes that Dak Prescott can kind of fall into that. That same space. Eight eight eight seven ten four I S N That's 888-710-4ISN. Speaking of Aaron Rodgers, let's take a break and come back.

We'll give you an update on what the heck is going on with this guy and his broken wrist. And then speaking of a big quarterback performances, we had Arch Manning. He was doing everything. Over the weekend for Texas, we'll get into that, talk some more QBs on the other side of the break. But right now, we got a score.

In Monday Night Football. What's the latest with that and so much more? It is time for a news flash. Here he is, it's Rich Ackerman. Listen up, football fans.

Ouch.

Well, I understand that. I I hear you. That must suck, right? Think about how how some people really feel in the world. I don't know.

Imagine if you dated at some point in time. I don't know. Maybe one point you you dated Barack Obama. Uh-huh, okay. Imagine one day, years and years and moon many moons ago, Oh, me maybe you dated uh Jennifer Lopez in high school.

Like you run around telling people, hey, I used to date Jennifer Lopez. And then people look at you, just roll your eyes like, man, shut up. Go back to Go back to whatever the hell you was doing. You ain't with Jennifer Lopez now. Shut up.

You got to be tough, I guess. I'm just doing my part.

Okay. Hey, thank you so much to Joe Hoyt for joining us. From the Dallas Morning News, and we just heard the update as well from Rich Ackerman. As it stands right now, we got this Monday night football game going on between the 49ers. And the Panthers Jawan Jennings holding a touchdown from Brock Purdy.

And so as it stands right now, the 49ers lead. The Carolina Panthers To zip. They're getting ready to get underway here in the second. A quarter. Here's something else that I need to do because they tell me I need to do this.

Okay, you ready? Good. This portion of the show is sponsored by Square. More than 4 million neighborhood businesses run on Square. To learn more, go to square.com or just stop by your favorite local business.

See you in the neighborhood. Square. Eight at eight, seven, ten, four I S N That's eight at eight. 710-4ISN. Thank you again to Joel Hoyt from the Dallas Morning News for joining us.

And we talked about the Dallas Cowboys. It's kind of crazy as it stands with their record of 5-5-1. Joe explained to us that they have a chance, a 9% chance. of making a postseason.

So it still don't look all that good. For the Dallas Cowboys. I'm rooting for the Dallas Cowboys to get into the postseason. Why? 'Cause I I don't want to see their fans tortured.

It's not so much about their fans. They're they're just always an interesting story. As Jerry Jones would have it, he doesn't want it. Any? Other Way.

And I like to see what Dak can do in the postseason. Again. I don't know. What is he going to go? Two and six?

if he can make it to the postseason and finish up. Apparently the the world will will never know. Uh speaking of of anybody and anything, quarterbacks. I said that the only time that that Dak isn't good as if he got a broken leg or a broken ankle.

Well, we saw what the Steelers can do. Nothing good without Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers is good. But he's no longer good enough to just beat the living hell out of the opposition.

So the Bears beat the Steelers yesterday. thirty one and twenty eight. Mason Rudolph, He was up, he was down, he was whatever. I mean, he opened up the game by A throw and an interception. He had a big fumble late in the game as well.

171 yards passing and one touchdown. I mean, his turnovers. led the fourteen points, and so you bet your backside. that they want Aaron Rogers back out there. And apparently he will.

When the Pittsburgh Steelers get ready to take on the Buffalo Bills, Mike Tomlin, he talked about what went wrong yesterday and uh. Let's just say not having Rodgers was a big part of that. You know, we could have better field position with our kickoff team, for example. We had more timely punting with our punt team. I thought we started the second half slow.

I think we had two three and outs on offense. I thought our defense could have smiled in the face of adversity better. In the first half in particular, I think we got stopped on fourth down. They scored a touchdown. We turned the ball over.

They scored a touchdown. And I think if we're going to be good, you got to make people set up for field goals or less under those circumstances. And so now the game is well, not the game, the AFC North is tied. It's hard with the Ravens for first place now that these Ravens have uh improved their record to six and five. Here's another simple question.

Hey, Mike Toma. Aaron Rodgers could not play. He tried to play with that broken wrist yesterday in his non-throwing left hand. Is he going to be back next game against the Bills? I anticipate him being ready for next week.

It was a prudent decision to make. Um You know, certainly. It wasn't a fluid week for him. It was a fluid week for Mason in terms of reps and so forth. Um And so, I think it'll be in our rear view as we move forward.

I'm hopeful of that. Yeah, I'm surprised that uh that he didn't play. I was expecting him to go out there. And give it a crack. It didn't happen.

He did go out there and try to give it a try.

Well, he did try to give it a try. He did try to give it a go. It. Wasn't going. I guess he was not comfortable with going out there and falling and They didn't risk it.

And so now the Steelers, well, are they still going to finish above 500? I would think so. I'd expect so. I Just don't expect. Anything.

It'll be the same old Steelers. They'll get into the postseason via wild card. And then it'll be eliminated. Same old, same old. Hey, good luck to Aaron Rodgers.

And he's turning. Botch, he's already going to be forty-two coming up? Oh, probably. I just but he he he's starting to lose the battle with Father Time.

Well, don't we all? It happens to everybody. Ye Aaron Rogers's birthday. December 2nd, he's going to be 42. years old.

Good for him. Speaking of another old guy, he's getting ready to turn 40. What is it? 41. Is he going to be 41, Botcher?

Is it LeBron? He's going to be 41 years old. 41. He's like middle December, right? Yeah, in December thirtieth.

LeBron James is going to turn 31. He actually played his second game back yesterday. For the Los Angeles Lakers against the Utah Jazz. You heard me correctly. He played the Jazz last week in his return, got a bunch of days off, and then they played the Jazz again.

Utah Jazz they don't play no damn defense.

So, LeBron James and everybody else, Luca, they're able to get up and down the court. The Lakers beat the Jazz last night, 108. To 106.

Soon-to-be 41-year-old LeBron James in the second game back. 17 points. Eight assists. Six rebounds. He did it in thirty four.

They're trying to get his legs and his lungs. back together. Luca, 33 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals. Luca just is playing out of his mind. And J.J.

Reddick says, Yeah, he's still an old guy. Give him some time to get back into things. I thought he did a lot of good things uh in transition. And did a lot of good things as a passer. Again, we had a lot of success out of the post.

didn't go to that late because of the maxi because maxi was out there.

So, you know, if Jackson or DA feel really comfortable with them, sort of in the dunker spot, but Maxi, we were trying to space, so we went more to that elbow ISO when we created a mismatch late. And I think LeBron made some good decisions out of that.

So, again, I think for him, it's the wind, but it's also the rhythm, just trying to find that, and we're confident he will. Yes, uh well, LeBron James, he was eight of eighteen from the field. The team from three point land, they stunk. They were ten of thirty-eight. It wasn't a great shooting game.

You know, even Austin Reeves, he was a one of eight from downtown. And Luca, three of 12. J.J. Reddick and. He's like, are we a bad shooting team?

I don't think so. we're literally one of the worst shooting teams in the NBA right now. I don't think that's who we are. We've got to make shots and we've got to shoot them with confidence. And to me, if we're guarding with that level of physicality and passing the ball to each other, Look, we had twenty three assists.

We could have easily had thirty some if we made shots tonight. It's uh easier said than done. And Lebrun he's not worried about that either. We're getting great looks. I mean if it was if we were shooting bad shots and missing then we could be worrying about okay how we how can we create better looks.

We're getting great looks, all of us.

So, not worried about that. the numbers will average out. Nest up for the old guy? The clippers Yeah, the Clippers. Who plays on a bunch of other old guys?

I don't know. Maybe Los Angeles, in some cases, for some folks.

So expensive, though. It could be a wealthy person's retirement home. Ask Chris Paul. Let everybody know over the weekend he's calling their quits. Yeah, we think it's time.

We think it's time, Chris. What is the average in uh Two points and three assists? Yeah, it's time though.

Okay, it's the JR Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. Christian McCaffrey is gaining more yards than the Carolina Panthers.
