We talked about the Dolphins. They lost to the Ravens last night and Lamar Jackson's return. We talked about Travis Hunter. He's hurt. He hurt his knee, we don't know the details of it, and He got injured in practice.
Travis Hunter has been placed on injured reserve. And so all the talks about whether or not he's going to play offense and defense. Uh He's he's going to be watching. for the next four weeks. That really sucks.
So good luck to him and his recovery. We talked about Arch Manning. Like I said, we don't know if he's going to play tomorrow against Vanderbilt. He'll be a decision or that will be a decision made tomorrow by the doctors. And we got more to get into.
How about this? In about twenty minutes. with Lamar Jackson returning, The Ravens with a record now of three and five. This sounds crazy. Are they going to make the playoffs?
or have this conversation with Cordell Woodland. Who covers all things Baltimore Sports on the fan in Baltimore? He'll be here with us in about 20 minutes. Of course, we're going to talk some baseball in about an hour from now. Man, we're going to have the start of Game Six of the World Series.
It's do a die for the Dodgers. If the Blue Jays win, the Blue Jays are champs. The Dodgers win. They force a game seven tomorrow in Toronto. I'm going to give you an update on some of these other injuries outside of Travis Hunter that unfortunately have taken place in the NFL.
And then, I mean, it was a crazy story yesterday. You know, we talked about this whole nonsense with Governor Jeff Lantry. uh down in Louisiana. kind of button in after Brian Kelly got fired and saying, Why do the taxpayers have to foot a bill for $54 million? And you know, he just.
A governor get involved in a football business. He said that Scott Woodward, the athletic director, was not going to be the next guy. Let's hire the coach, And an L S you fired him? Which was crazy. We found that out while we were on the air last night.
And apparently they already have a new Interim athletic director.
Now, tell me how this makes sense. Let's. Let's walk a line here. I'm going to try to give this to you. as clearly as possible.
LSU is a public school. Fine. State University, Louisiana State University. Self explanatory, right? The governor decides to uh go for cool points and go for votes By complaining about the coach's buyout.
Brian Kelly gets fired. They got to pay him $54 million reportedly to go away. Has it been kind of uh you know negotiated down? Who knows? We'll find out.
Jeff Landry. says We and maybe the taxpayers got to pay this guy $54 million to leave. But we can't let the athletic director who hired him We can't let him pick the last coach. Oh yeah, by the way, this guy also got Jimbo Fisher almost eighty million dollars to leave. And so this guy we can't let him stick around.
Which is wholly accurate. He gave him the job, Jimbo Fisher, Texas AM. But ultimately, he was gone by the time he got a contract extension, Jimbo Fisher did. And that netted him that giant, almost $80 million bailout.
So, what a shock. We had a politician saying things that are not accurate.
Okay, whether he was not informed or whether he didn't give a damn. One thing that doesn't matter is the fact that Scott Woodward got fired. He got the boot. A matter of fact, Here, l listen to this. This is Louisiana First News.
detail it last night. LSU and Athletic Director Scott Woodward are deciding to split ways after coming to a mutual agreement. The separation comes just a day after Governor Jeff Landry said Woodward would not hire Brian Kelly's replacement. Athletic Administrator Verge Osbury will serve as the interim. Osbury has been with the LSU Athletic Department since 1991.
No word on whether he will consider the full-time AD role, but in a release, LSU Board of Supervisors Chair Scott Ballard did thank Woodward for his six years as AD, saying, He had a lot of success at LSU and we wish him nothing but the best in the future. Woodward also putting out a statement saying, it is with a heavy heart, but also with my typical optimism that today is my last day serving as your director of athletics. He went on to say, our university will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will never be too far away from LSU. Nanette, Michael, Josh, and I wish the Tigers nothing but the best. Go Tigers.
No, boy. It mutual decision? Yeah, mate, do I want to stick around if the Governor is throwing me under the bus? I mean, could you imagine going to work one day and the Governor is now taking a dump on you? And I don't know, maybe maybe you have to, maybe you can only be the athletic director.
of the the largest public university with the famous football school. But could you imagine just minding your business at work? I don't know, maybe you work at the doctor's office and The governor's trashing you Because of something that took place at a hospital? I I don't know. It's just To me it seems in bad taste.
Obviously Jeff Landry does not give a damn, and this is what is also hilarious to me. That Verge Osberry, This man was the executive deputy, athletic director, okay? He was the next guy in line. And so they basically said, hey, you get the job for now. But this is the funny part.
He gets to pick. The next head coach. Like, he's gonna have the juice to pick the next head coach. Where does this make sense? Where's the outrage from the Governor?
About the other guy now picking the court. What's his track record? Come on now. He's been at LSU. for a very, very long time.
Uh he actually played at LSU. Great! Has he ever Hired a coach. Has he ever negotiated a contract? Uh has he ever done any of that?
No. But we're going to allow him to do it. And this is what makes these uh the the politics of it all. Absolutely. Hilarious It's nuts Verge Osberry.
He actually uh had some thoughts on What he wanted to say to fans at LSU and the coaches, just take a listen to this. I want to know how fan base know one thing. LSU is not broken. The LSU athletic department is not broken. I think we have the best athletic department in the country.
I think we have the best staff in the country. The executive team is second to none. I put them up against anyone. They are the best, and they will get the job done. Our coaches.
A second or none. We are the best. We have championship coaches here. They're great coaches, and many other great coaches who win championships. That's what we expect here.
We LSU. This place is not broken, that later department's not broken, we win. I've been part of 18 national championships at LSU's administrator. I know what it takes to win. We know what it takes to win.
And that's our jobs, and that's our mission. And listen, I I hope it works out for him. I hope he has some juice in who he decides to bring on as the the next coach they say that he does. It's just absolutely hilarious to me. That the Governor butted in?
And they gave him the job, and now they're saying that the interim, let me say that again. The interim Athletic Director. We'll be able to Hire the the full time. This is like a couple of years ago. I'm sorry to dump on the jets.
It's like the Jets didn't have a general manager. And then they had Adam Gace. running the team.
So they had a coach there. But they didn't have a general manager, And so then they hired a general manager after, and then they had a coach in play. Like, who you might as well be a you might as well have a job. And then be able to hire your own boss after the fact. I just, this, this doesn't make sense.
Sense. I don't think L S U is broken. I just think the stupid governor opened up his yap. And has decided to make this a mess. It was already a mess with Brian Kelly.
Yeah, that's what politicians do a lot of times, huh? Eight eight eight seven ten four I S N. That's eight eight eight seven ten. 4-I-S-N. Hey, we got Alex calling from Miami.
I think he was concerned about Chris Greer thinking he's going to stick around. Alex. You're on the J. R. Sport Brief Show, what's on your mind?
Hey, what's up, JR? I was the one that called two weeks ago regarding the litigation when it comes to Chris Greer. Yeah, well they fi they fired him, yeah, he's gone. Yeah, here in South Florida, and I'm surprised the the the media surprise too that they fired Chris Career. We thought he was going to stick around.
till the end of the season and then get reassigned. But Yesterday, it was really embarrassing that the game I've been Uh going uh golfing games um since nineteen eighty two where my family first acquired season tickets is I was a wee lad. And I can tell you that I can remember it's the worst I've seen it as as you know, but I don't know if the uh lot of the uh listeners know, Lamar Jackson is from South Florida. And there was more Lamar Jackson fans in the stands than dolphin pounds. It was embarrassing.
Not surprising. And let me ask you this, Alex. Because I certainly watched the game, and even when we got off the air, I was still watching the game, had it on in the background until I fell asleep. I was not gonna watch this nonsense. There was nothing surprising about what took place.
Did you go to that game expecting? The Miami Dolphins to to I mean, yeah, you can hope that they're competitive. Especially coming off of what they did to the Falcons. But did you feel good about the team going to that game yesterday? No, I I thought they were gonna get blown out and I thought Lamar Jackson a great game like he had, you know, it just It's just that the Dolphins are not in a good place.
The week before, people got a glimmer of hope, but they played the Falcons. And the Falcons are hit and miss. You never know what you're going to get. You know, they're like a box of chocolates. But um But at the same time at the same time, I figured that that the Ravens were going to put it on him.
But they were completely dysfunctional. And then, you know, To make it more embarrassing, Tua every week has something remarkable to say. Yeah, and we all know what happened where he says that. His cadence got disrupted, and that's why they false started. On fourth and one.
Yeah, you blamed the fans cheering for the Ravens. Yeah, he's nuts.
Well, it was a combination of the loud booze.
Okay. and the fans uh cheering for um for for for the Ravens and for Lamar, which made it very loud. That's really embarrassing, you know. That's your that's your quarterback. Alex, let me let me ask you this, okay?
Sure. You you like roller coasters? I love them. Oh, well, you loved them or you still love em today? You love 'em?
No, I love them. I love them. Still I'm fit and I still ride 'em. I hate roller coasters. Listen, it's enough of a thrill for me to just be alive.
I don't need to get on a roller coaster, but you get on a roller coaster. It is that point where you're ascending and you're going up and you're going up and you're going up and you're going up. and then you stood at that peak And then you go down. The Miami Dolphin season. There's no ups and downs.
There is nothing here. But for them to go down, to scare the living hell out of everybody, and then everybody just gets off the ride.
Okay, they are already on their way down. They threw Chris Greer off the side of the roller coaster. When they get to a full stop, they're going to tell Mike McDaniel, get your ass off. And then they're going to look at Tua and go, hey, man, we're going to maybe give you one more loop, and then we're getting ready you too. Like what do you expect next season?
They ain't gonna be no Mike McDaniel. And I wouldn't be surprised if Tuatonga Valoa next season is he's gonna be on thin ice. He's gonna be competing for his own job. I have a feeling that that tour is going to be the highest paid of Oh Bridge quarterback. in the history of the NFL because I do think that they're going to try to draft a quarterback to go forward with that quarterback, maybe sit him for a year behind Tua.
But then after that, you know, they're probably going to release them. The thing is that they can release them now. because he would count up at yeah capital ninety two million dollars against uh uh against a dead cap.
So yes, we're going to get one more year or two. Maybe maybe he'll be a bridge quarterback. And then and then they'll go from there.
However, there's a lot to click. You know? Hold on, Alex. Hold on. I gotta move on, Alex.
Let me just give you some advice here. I know it's early in the season. You like the Miami Heat, right? At least they look good. It's early, but they look good.
They look good. They're playing a different style of basketball than what they played before. They played them basketball. Every every things are exciting. Everybody eats.
Yeah, Alex. Enjoy enjoy the heat for now. And uh well, don't get sick watching the Dolphins, okay? No, my only hope is the Panthers. Let's see how the Panthers do.
Oh, the Flor the Florida Panthers?
Okay. All right.
Well, let's see. All right.
Thank you, Alex. Appreciate you, man. No problem. Take care. Nice talking to you.
You as well all the time. Florida Panthers, they're getting older. Guys are hurt. Guys are retiring. Guys are taking games off to coach cancer games.
I get it. It's uh Well, let let's see what the Panthers can do. They they've been in the mix, but eventually everybody It kind of ages out. It's the JR Sport Ree Show here with you, coast to coast, on the Infinity Sports Network. There is not a damn thing.
going on with the Dolphins. It's just. kicking everybody off the bus. while it moves, kicking everybody off the roller coaster while it continues on. They gots no Hope.
That sucks. Enjoy the Miami Heat. We're going to take a break. When we come back, we're going to have a conversation with, I think, someone who covers the team. They got some hope.
We're going to have a conversation with Cordell Woodland, who covers all things Baltimore sports, Ravens, Orioles for the fan in Baltimore. Are the Ravens done? Do they still have a chance after last night's victory? What are they going to do against Minnesota? What does the health look like for their defense?
We're going to figure out and get the thoughts of Cordell Woodland on the other side of the break. You're locked in. You're listening. It's the J.R. Sport Reef Show, Coast to Coast, the Infinity Sports Network.

On the Infinity Sports Network. It's Halloween We got ghosts and ghouls and goblins and mummies and all types of dead stuff coming back to life.
We got the Ravens here, inspired by Edgar Allan Poe. Are the Ravens back from the dead? I mean, we saw what they did to the Dolphins last night. They now have a record of three and five. They have the Minnesota Vikings up next.
They got the Packers later on in the season. They have New England later on in the season. Can they go on a stretch? where they get into the postseason or that they play in the AFC. North.
Let's talk about these ravens that at one point looked dead but might be alive. It's time to have a conversation with Cordell Woodland from 1057, the fan in Baltimore. Cordell, welcome back to the show, man. How are you? I'm good, man.
Thanks for having me. Absolutely. Well, we we got a three and five record. A lot of people have been calling me for the past several weeks. You got a fire hard bar, they quit on a hard bar, and now Lamar Jackson comes back and throws four touchdowns, and I don't I don't hear as much.
What say you? Ultimately, do these Ravens still have some life here for this season? Yeah, I mean, they've got life. Um the division that they're in alone gives them that life. Uh there Last week when they beat the, um When they beat the Bears, everybody else in the division loses.
And now you have this week. You got the division lead instead who are hosting the red hot Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. You feel pretty good about that one. The Browns or the Browns last I checked. Um, and the bingles still can't stop anybody.
So Yeah, I mean the division sets it up itself for them to have a chance, and then you look at their their schedule going forward. I mean, They're coming off this win against the Vikings. They go, I mean, against the Dolphins, they go to the Vikings next. And then the Browns Jet. Bingles and Stillers and then the Bingles again.
So I mean, they definitely have an opportunity, but Um They have to continue to win games. They don't have a lot of room for error. Maybe that's a good thing for them. And Cordell Woodland is here with us on the JR Sport Brief Show. It was always interesting to see anybody come back from a hamstring.
If you do any damage to it again, you might be out even longer. We know Lamar Jackson is lethal with his legs. What were your takeaways from watching him play last night? We saw the four touchdowns, but physically, what did you take away from the game? Yeah, I mean, I thought he looked like Lamar.
You know, he had that one plate where he extends and. Breaks out of a sack and then finds Isaiah likely. I mean, I thought that was a true. uh example of that hamstring Feeling good. He had one where he kind of got to open it up a little bit and.
And run for some. I thought he almost could have scored if he breaks that one tackle, honestly. But. Yeah, I I think he looked like Lamar last night and talking to him last week Um, in his mind, it felt like He didn't want to come back too soon. And he talked about This being the first time he's dealt with a hamstring injury.
didn't really know what to expect. I think And look, granted, their record may not have afforded him That type of time, but it may end up working out for them. They end up still winning that game against the Bears without them. And now he comes back and the offense is right back to his regular scheduled programming of lighting up the scoreboard. Um, and I I I expect that to be the case going forward, especially if the defense can continue to hold that.
Well, let's talk about that defense, Cordell, because we know that they've dealt with some injuries themselves over the past several weeks. You got a Roquan Smith who's returned. Kyle is back to being himself. How has this defense changed? Has it really just been a matter of injuries?
Why did they have such a slow start?
Well, I think the injuries are a part of it.
Now, granted, you talk about the start, they all were there. out in Buffalo, you know, when they're getting shredded.
So Um I I can't give them a complete pass just for the injuries. The injuries played a part because they had underlining issues. That become compounded when you have to now resort to playing some of your inexperienced backups.
So you can't fix those issues if your starters aren't there.
So to get those guys back It has been huge. help this defense is the trade of them sending a dossier to the Chargers and getting safety hello to Gilman. Back and return, and at the time. It raised some eyebrows because this team struggles to get after the quarterback, and now you're trading one of your pass rushers, first rounder. at that, but Adolfi hasn't played to a first round talent.
And getting Gilman allowed them to Put three safeties on the field. play more of that big nickel, allow them to put Kyle Hamilton closer to the line of scrimmage. And I think you got to see last night just how d different that defense is when he's playing that close to the line because of the impact plays he can make. and Cordell Woodland is here with us from one hundred fifty seven the fan in Baltimore. You talk about that pass rush.
We know Matabike, he's out for the season with that neck injury. Kyle Van Noy is so what do they do? When it comes down to past Russia, we know that the trade deadline is next week. Do you see the Ravens doing anything else between now and then? I mean, I think they'll try But you know I I I just my gut tells me that they're not gonna get anything done.
I don't think that they're willing. to pay the premium price for a premium position. And what's the sense of making a trade if you're not getting somebody that's going to be? a true difference maker. Um they did sign Carl Lars Carl Lawson off the street.
The other week wouldn't shock me if you start to see him get involved in this up in their next game against Minnesota. But I I think that a lot of it is going to come from them Scheming it up. And blitzing guys like Kyle Hamilton, blitzing these nickel corners like Marlon Humphrey, I think they're going to try to generate pressure that way. Because I I I don't think that they'll be able to get that true impact pass rusher that they're looking for.
Well, you talk about scheming things up. I I told you and I I hear it quite frequently. A lot of fans unhappy. We've had callers saying, Oh my God, Lamar is not playing because he's quitting on Harbaugh. We gotta fire him midseason.
And I'm just like, well, can we get through this year first? And and here we stand. What are your thoughts as it stands right now on Coach John Harbaugh?
Well, first, I would say anybody that thinks that Lamar is quitting on this team or quitting on this coach. They just don't know Lamar. I I've never that's never really crossed my mind. Um But in terms of harbor, I think the jury is still out. You know, they're.
They're building up some momentum. They've won back-to-back games. That's a start. But look, we can't we can't ignore the fact that she came into the season As the Super Bowl favorites. You came into the season with the idea of.
Is Super Bowl labus. Whether Harbaugh wanted to acknowledge that or not, and obviously he's not because that doesn't benefit him. To acknowledge that it's Super Bowl or bust, because what's bust mean? It means he's gone, not Lamar. If that would be the change.
So I think You know, I I while the teams Goals may have shifted from Super Bowl to let's just get in. right now. I don't know if just getting in Is enough for Harbaugh to be completely safe. I'm not saying something's going to happen. to his job, you know.
But I would expect that they would at least have to get back to the AFC Championship game for that to not be a discussion. Um, and really wait. But anything less than that you're going to still get those same type of calls because we get them at our station every day. Yeah, we got Cordell Woodland here with us from 1057, the fan.
Well, let me ask you: given everything that we've just discussed, from their record to the division to the coaching to the talent to the health. Would you be surprised if this team was in an AFC championship game?
Well I'll say this. if if they end up turning their season around and making the postseason to me, everything's on the table at that point because they're even talking about them being one of the hottest teams in the league. They can't afford no more than, in my mind, more than two more losses, three absolute max, and then you're in a situation. like Cincinnati was last year, where you could get hot and still not get in. Um so really I think two is the limit.
But if they are able to get to the postseason and possibly win this division and host a playoff game, I gotta say by that point. We're looking at them being one of the hotter teams in the league. And yeah, I mean, you'd have to imagine that they would have a chance. To get hot now, their January issues are still there, they're trying to. Claw their way back into it, and maybe it works out for them because the playoffs have kind of come to Baltimore early because of the position that they're in.
But they once you get to January, they'll have to answer a whole new set of questions that they have been trying to answer. over the last few years.
Well, Cordell, I mean, we could talk about the future of head coach John Harbaugh. And we've heard, and it hasn't been loud. It certainly isn't as loud as it was a few years ago when he was looking for his initial extension. But we've heard here and there that Lamar Jackson is looking to be paid. We see where the money has gone.
It's at 60 mil right now with a guy like Dak. You've got a guy in Lamar who's won two MVPs, was in consideration last year, could have certainly won it then. What's the status with him and his contract? Is that now altered given the injury? Are we the jury out based on this season?
How is that going to play out? Yeah, I mean I You never know. You you know, Lamar's his own agent, so this is going to be different than any of those other guys's negotiations because he represents himself. as a premium player at a premium position.
So these negotiations were tough the first time around.
Now, I I don't know if it'd be as tough this time around because He won the MVP his first year after signing that deal. We know the type of player Lamar is. We know what this team is when Lamar is upright. I think it's all up to Lamar what he wants to do. It's on his time.
And he has to know. no uh franchise tag clause in his bill right now as well.
So That puts even more pressure on the Ravens really. to get a deal done before going into that last year.
So I still lean that it'll happen. I don't think Lamar wants to leave Baltimore, and ultimately, even though. the Ravens and Lamar may not always be on the same page when it comes to everything. I know the Ravens don't want to lose Lamar. He is a one percenter.
in this league.
So I would imagine even if it does take some time, this deal will get done.
Okay, well, let's see what happens throughout the course of this season first. This is going to be one of the largest storylines. Can the Ravens kind of continue to turn things around and get into the postseason given their start? After beating the Dolphins last night, they now stand at 3-5. Hey, Cordell, always a pleasure, man.

Nowhere else for them to go but to a Super Bowl. I'm not so sure that that's where they're going to go this year. They got their work cut out for them. As it stands right now. Speaking of winning any type of championship, we're about 30 minutes away from the Blue Jays trying to win their first championship since 1993.

So we talked about the Ravens and whether or not they could Even make the postseason, let alone still go out there and compete for a championship. And then, meanwhile, we're minutes away. from Game Six of the World Series. We now know that the Blue Jays lead the Dodgers in this series three games to two. We saw what took place in Game Five.
Treya Savage went out there and just decided to strike out twelve guys in seven innings. We've never seen that from a rookie uh in the World Series. Things started off pretty bad. For the Dodgers right out of the gate, as Blake Snell just said, Here, Vladimir Guerrero, here, David Schneider, here's some home runs. And so the Blue Jays were in control from beginning.
until the end.
So here we have the big bad Dodgers. A payroll at more than $500 million once you include the luxury tax. on the precipice of being defeated. And that's always going to be the story. You know, when the the big bad wolf uh takes a loss.
The Dodgers are trying to go.
Well, they're trying to go two series two World Series in a row. We haven't had a repeat champ since the Yankees had a threepeat in the late nineties into the year two thousand. And it's just going to be a massive disappointment, a massive letdown. That's always the case. When the team with the biggest payroll and the biggest stars, of course, no bigger star than Shohei Otani goes down.
Also interesting and noteworthy, I should say. The fact that here we have these blue jays They're the only team in in Canada. Like they're not just representing for the city of Toronto, which is a beautiful city, they're representing for the entire country And to know that they only need one more victory?
Well it's going to be tough for the Dodgers. They've only batted what 201 here? in this World Series. We got mookie bets now and clean up You got Dave Roberts trying to do anything, anything. to make sure that they can push things to a game seven.
to morrow. Dave Roberts pretty much said as much. We can't think about to morrow. We can only think about Today. All that being said, intent, mechanics.
I think right now you know, when you're We we gotta find a way to win one game. We know they gotta win one game. The Toronto Blue Jays, all they have to do is win one game. And they the champs? Blue Jays haven't been champs since 92 and 92.
Three John Schneider was asked about how they feel after winning Game Five, getting on that plane from Los Angeles, flying back to Toronto. This is what he said. I was impressed with just kind of the back and forth that was happening and not getting too high and kind of getting ready to get on a bus and get on a plane and come back here and get ready to play. The vibe was good, but it was nothing different than what it usually has been this season.
Now, well, the vibe gotta be different. You know you only need one game to reach your ultimate goal. I mean, we've heard for weeks now, Vladimir Guerrero, even after winning the American League Championship Series against the Seattle Mariners, Vladimir Guerrero On the stand when they gave him the MVP, just like, We got to win one more. And that's the series. We're not done.
The job's not done. We're not finished. We got to win one more.
Now it just comes down to one game. And tonight is going to be a masterclass in television production. They're going to be a lot of nervous faces in the stands and the skydome. They're going to be zooming in on fans, praying, and celebrating, and maybe being miserable. And these are the type of games you never know.
What's going to happen? Maybe if, as a baseball fan, I don't care who wins or loses. Maybe we get in Game Seven. I hope so. Maybe the Dodgers come out and it's a blowout.
Maybe it's a blowout via the Jays. Maybe the Jays fans can celebrate for five, six, seven innings, or maybe they just know it's cooked. I remember years ago, almost twenty years ago, almost to the day actually, I think the anniversary was last week. Red Sox pushed the Yankees to a game seven. Came back from three one.
And then all we saw was Johnny Damon outside the gate, just out here, clobberin' the home runs and hittin' grand slams, and you just knew There was no game. The Yankees were done and the Red Sox would advance ultimately to win the the World Series back in two thousand four. Are we getting one of those games? This is going to be a close one. This should be interesting.
We have Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the mound. For the Dodgers. We saw him. He's already thrown two complete games here. And then we got Gossman on the mound.
Last time in, he pitched. Six and two-thirds innings and gave up three runs.
So you don't know what you're going to get, but is Yamamoto going to. Throw another complete game? Are you betting on that one? What are the odds? Is he going to have a ridiculous performance?
We have no idea. John Schneider, though, he's content with what he's going to get out of Kevin Gosman. Kev, I'll be ready to go. I can't wait to see what the Rogers Center is going to look. feel and sound like.
Um but I I can't wait to have Kev, take the mount for us. Yeah, you don't know what you're going to get. Life is like a box of chocolates. And if, and I can say this because I ain't playing in the game, if. The Dodgers can force a game seven.
Are we going to see Otani on the mound? Is he going to be an opener? Is he going to pitch in relief? Is he going to be thrown into the field so they can put another bat out there? Is he going to play outfield on that turf?
Like, either way, it doesn't matter how you slice it. The Major League Baseball season is either going to end today. or it will end to morrow Somebody is going to be crowned a champion. It's going to take place in Toronto. The fans of Toronto are going to be happy, or will they be miserable?
Dave Roberts he was asked a couple of questions about the baseball god Shohei Otani. And uh will we see him throwing on the mound tomorrow if there's a game seven day? I think we'd consider everything. And it's more of just kind of doing whatever we can, Sonia, to get through tomorrow and then pick up the pieces and then see what's the best way to attack a potential Game Seven.
So everything should be on the table and will be for sure. Oh, of course, man. You tryin' to win a game. There ain't no more games after this. You don't have to consider anything but March and April.
Come on, just. Batting down the hatches and and all all ship hip bottle. What did they say? All hands on deck? Yeah, all hands on deck.
Yeah, it's just everybody gotta get with it. Dave Roberts was asked uh Well, what position would he play if you got to keep him in the game and move him around? Would he see him in the outfield? We'll talk about everything.
So whatever kind of we'll we'll kind of talk through whatever is the best.
So like I said before, if we get to that point, we'll see. But he's not completely the outfield tomorrow. I do know that. But if we get to game seven, Good discussion about everything. It's obviously the clip from yesterday referring to today: we won't see Shohay in the outfield.
Maybe on Saturday, if we get there. one step at a time. I'm hoping for a game seven. I'm not ready for the season to be done. I've already proven to be wrong here.
I selected the Dodgers to win this World Series in six games. Obviously, if they win, it's going to take seven games for them to walk away with another championship and for them to go back to back. and the way that they just abused. The New York Yankees last year. Uh this Toronto Blue Jays team is is built different.
Like the New York Yankees could not Get on base to save their lives. They were making defensive errors. It was ugly. And it was easy for the Dodgers just to handle the Yankees and say, go home. Not here with these Blue Jays.
And then you got George Springer, who's going to be returning after a two-game absence after leaving the last game or two games ago with that soreness or that pain in his side. He's going to be back.
Now is this going to be one of these dramatic Walk-offs, dramatic singles. Are we getting a new. I mean, it can't be Joe Carter. We got to wait until tomorrow if that's the case. But are we getting some dramatic victory?
We'll see what takes place. The Blue Jays are full of talent. Dodge is full of talent. The offense just has to wake up. Quique Hernandez.
He even says that, yeah, we beat the Yankees last year. But this team this year is better than what we were. I think we're a more talented team than we were last year. And we found a way to We found our way to do it last year and thought we were in a bigger hole given the the situation with our pitching staff last year.
So, right guy at the right time on the mound for us in game six, Yoshinobu and Um it's time for us. For the offense to show up. It's time for the offense to show up. Mookie Betts has to show up. Freddie Freeman.
I mean, he ain't doing what he did last year. I mean, the guy walked away with an MVP and basically tormented of the New York Yankees all the way throughout the season. Or the series, I should say. They were just begging for Freddie Freeman to just please stop. We saw him at a big game winning home run in that Long 18-inning game a couple of nights ago.
But even Freddie Freeman says, Yeah, we got to do better. We all know what we're capable of, and we haven't done it for two games, so um. Maybe uh day off, we'll cool them down over there and will will reunite us. Um yeah, look. Pour some cold water on them.
I don't know what the temperature is in Toronto right now. Botcha, I'm gonna assume it's cold in New York. It is, it's pretty cold, it's windy from the storms. And so I'm going to assume it's even colder in in Toronto. I may be going eh, it's not bad, forty seven Fahrenheit.
Oh, feels like 39 due to a brisk wind.
So, yeah, it's kind of chilly up in Toronto. I I can't imagine anything cooling those bats off. Everybody's gonna be hyped. Maybe the Blue Jays are going to be tight. I mean, if you have to go buy anything Yamamoto has been lights out.
I'm going to give the Dodgers the edge to win tonight and force a game seven. And after that, tomorrow. We just might have a a classic, nothing better than a A game seven. What else can you ask for? I'm looking forward to it.
We'll give you an update as the game gets started in a matter of minutes. Game six of the World Series. Will the Dodgers go down? Will they go home? Will the Blue Jays win their first championship since 1993?
We'll keep you up to date once the game gets started. It's the JR Sport Reshow here with you, coast to coast. On the Infinity Sports Network. We're going to take a break when we come back. We got Eric Edholme who was going to join us to talk some NFL.
And then, you know, speaking of Voltani, I need more and more of Voltani. Hopefully we get them tomorrow. Man, we are in an era right now. Otani, Wimbenyama, we'll talk some basketball, talk some football, talk some baseball here on the Infinity Sports Network Domo. That 365 is paying out before the final whistle.
