All over the place. On The Internet. eight eight eight seven ten four I S N That's eight eight eight seven ten. For ISN. Man, just in the first hour, we talked about the Baseball games today.
We had a great chat with Ryan Dunlevy. Covers all things NFL for the New York Post. We got into some of the games that we can expect to see this upcoming Sunday. I really want to see what Jackson Dart can do in New Orleans against the Saints. Yeah, two teams going nowhere.
These are. They they're trying to climb into being relevant. And then at night, we got one of these return games when Stephon Diggs ends up back with the Buffalo Bills. But at this time he's obviously a member Of the New England Patriots.
So that was just the first hour. Hit rewind. on the free Odyssey app if you missed it. But That's Sunday night football.
So get us all started here. Damn it, already? It's week five. How do we get here? To get it started on week five.
We got the 49ers. Taking on. The L A Rams. San Francisco 49ers, unless you've been living underneath a rock, let me help you out. They are.
The walking wounded right now. Brock Purdy just came back. 49ers lost to the Jags on Sunday, 26-21. Purdy had three turnovers. And so Mac Jones.
who's been dealing with a knee injury of his own. Mac Jones is going to be out there. as the starter. I don't know. Does this mean I'm getting one touchdown and two interceptions?
I don't know. But I believe that the Rams They're going to have a field day. They just beat the Colts 27 and 22. Matthew Stafford, there was all this talk about his back in the off season. He needed an epidural.
To keep on rolling. That's right. They put a needle. As long as a yardstick, maybe not that long, and the guy's back. He has eight touchdowns, two interceptions.
I think he's second passing yards One thousand one hundred and fourteen. Not too shabby. Not too shabby. And Mac Jones? I'm a little too disrespectful.
Four touchdowns, one interception. Bacha, am I being a jerk? I think he's going to suck tonight. If he wasn't dealing with his own injury, I personally think He could just hand the ball off and maybe be a game manager. But There's so many injuries on their offensive line.
Their wide receiving core is basically fourth stringers. And I don't know how much Christian McCaffrey can carry you. Oh, yeah, you mentioned that Ricky Pearsall is out with a knee. Jawan Jennings, his ankle and his ribs are hurting, he's been hurt. Since the offseason, when he was looking for a contract, I guess it'll never come.
And Christian McCaffrey's usage as a receiver and also as a running back. is already through The Roof. He's the whole offense. I don't know how you're going to key in on him, but. He's gonna get every touch unless he's just He just broke it.
And let's also be real. Kittle has been out. And Nick Bolson just ripped up his knee. And Brandon Ayuk, we don't expect to see him. He tore his knee up at the end of last season.
The 49ers are just really. the walking wounded. And that's not to already count in This this 49ers, excuse me, the Los Angeles Rams, a defense. You got verse out there, Losing his mind, they're moving him all over the place. This is not going to be.
A good game. at all, I think, for the Niners. I think they're cooked. Mac Jones, he's like, oh yeah, the defense, uh. Don't remind me I have to face them.
They're really good. They're, in my opinion, the number one defense in the NFL after watching them. I know statistically they're pretty high, but I've really been impressed with them.
So it's going to be a huge challenge and yeah, they do a lot of good stuff. Man, all these years later, it still sounds like Mac Jones is locked in the basement Of Bill Belichick, man, you You're in San Francisco now, loosen up. Like, he sounded like that when he was a rookie. Like, Bill Belichick had a buzzer strapped to his ankle. If he said something wrong, he gets shocked.
Come on, man. Get it. Togather. At least he can hand the ball off. Run around, try not to get hit.
Somebody gets close, just flip it. To Christian McCaffrey. Christian McCaffrey is going to have to carry things basically all by himself he's going to come out of this game His calves are gonna be hurting, his knees are gonna be hurting, his bones, his back, his shoulders from carrying the load, Christian McCaffrey says. Yeah. This is gonna be a tough one.
He says everybody just They working together. They play well together. They play hard, not just in pass rush, but in the run game. They tie it all together, so definitely a big challenge. Aaron Young, I think he leads the NFL with five sacks already.
Jared Verse is still out here. You got Fisk, who also coming out of Florida State. Shout outs to the Seminoles. He doesn't even have a sack yet on the year. Uh Yeah, this is this is not.
gonna be Easy, but everybody talks about the relationship between Sean McVay and and Shanahan. All these guys, they were they were in Washington and they grew up together and they're they're buddies and Yes, sure, who cares? Going out here to win a football game. I don't know. Maybe Sean McVay shocks the world.
I'm not putting it past.
Well, not Sean McVay, Shanahan. I'm not putting it past.
The 49ers to win the game at all. But I'm expecting a Rams victory. I feel very confident. about it. Sean McVay.
Thinking about Stafford, I told you about his back. Right now, it's good. Eight touchdowns, two interceptions. Sean McVay is like, that's my guy. I thought he's played really well.
I think he's seen the field well. I think that you show me a great quarterback. I'll show you a guy that has some challenging snaps and hey, how do we respond? And nobody does it better than him. Nobody.
Yeah, that's it. And Nate Dogg shoutouts to Nate Dogg. Rust his soul. Nobody does it better. Speaking of nobody doing it better.
Pooca Nakua is on another level right now. Five hundred three yards in four games. 42 receptions and four games. He leads the NFL in receptions and receiving yards. He's out here getting ready to break records.
If he gets like eight passes today, It'll be the most receptions in five games in NFL history. Puka Nakua. is on another Level Sean McVay, he's the one watching him. He knows it. Play style toughness, demeanor.
I mean, you just see the improvement that he's made. But I mean, when you look at the aggressive hands through the catch point, the ability to be able to create separation, create after the catch, being at your best in the most pivotal moments, he's doing everything that you want. Knakua plays football like he doesn't give a damn about his career. He's like, go out of bounds for what? He's like, make money.
I get paid. How much? This guy goes out there as a wide receiver. Just as a brute. And let's actually listen to him.
I guess he knows how to play the media game as well. He's blowing smoke up the 49ers' backsides. He's like, oh, their defense. Oh, yeah, they're so good. The physicality, I think that's something that stands out from some of the other teams that we play.
You know, that that is... uh characteristic of their defense that they they hold and uh they hold a lot of pride in.
Okay, whatever. This team is out here sucking wind right now. Trying to figure out how they're going to score points. The defense is like, oh my God, we got to stop Puka. And then on the other side, and then the running back, you got Williams, and then you got Adams on the other side.
Matthew Stafford is throwing the ball, it's going to be a problem. Don't tell me. about the defense. We just had a conversation last hour. with Ryan Zunlevy from the New York Post.
And he said bringing on Devontae Adams.
Sorry, washed up Cooper Cup, sorry. He was old and hurt. Give him a break, okay. Anyway. Devontae Adams is sucking away all the attention, allowing Puka Nakua to just go out there.
And B. A beast. Kyle Shanahan is like, I gotta pick one of these guys to double. Who do I do? Two great receivers with an unbelievable quarterback, so huge challenge.
You know, just like when they had Puka and Cup going, I mean, huge challenge, especially paired with Stafford. Two of the best hands in the league with Puka and Devontae. Pooka and Cup. Hmm. Pooking.
It sounds botched. It sounds like a buddy cop film. Pukin cop. They go to White Castle? Harold and Kumar.
Yeah. There's gonna be a new spin-off soon, maybe. Uh, did you ever watch that that movie about no Mike Castle guys? I watched Bits and pieces. Was it good?
Not really. It's just it's one of those movies Yeah.
Okay. There's two guys getting high going to Whitecastle. Yep, their journey.
So, what happened? They just got robbed on the way. A tiger jumped out of the sewer, a light pole fell on them, stuff like that. Basically. And then they get there.
Is this like the hangover? Oh no, the hangover is so much better.
Okay, but they eventually finish their goal and they try to get food. and they have no money. Oh, I thought you were gonna tell me it was closed. No. They was open.
And then they get bailed out by, I think it was Neil Patrick Harris.
Okay. Well, listen to you. Yesterday. I'm telling you, I'm begging you to give me the score of the game over the airwaves. You're like, I don't want to spoil the game for the listeners.
And here you are, just spoiling an entire movie for people. Because it's, I don't know, a live sports game versus a movie that's been out, I don't know, was it 25 years now? We're live on the damn radio. I know. But You gotta like.
I don't know Debating because the movie's been out for 25 years, I think. The live thing's been twenty seconds. Oh boy. I don't know. Maybe if someone was watching ille an illegal stream, they'd be like a minute behind and I spoiled it.
Oh my god. You know how many people complain to me about about me asking you to tell the score of the game that completed? Uh No. I don't know. Nobody.
Nobody. About it. Nobody cared. Did anybody complain to you? No, not that not that I know of.
Oh, okay. I think you would have known by now. Yeah, no big deal. No big deal. Here's a spoiler.
Not really. Chicago still leads the Cubs. Or excuse me, they are the Cubs. Chicago still leads the Padres. Two to nothing.
It's the seventh inning. Let's see if they can get some more runs on the board and not let San Diego get there. Come on, San Diego got to get a run. Up eventually. And we'll keep you up to date on how this game rolls.
Okay, and how about this? In about five minutes, we're going to have a conversation, all things Major League Baseball. In playoffs. With Brittany Giroli. She'll be here with us courtesy of the athletic.
We'll get her thoughts on Well, we've got one team that's advanced. Can the Tigers keep rolling? I mean, you're not going to see Schubal. uh in the next matchup, not starting game one. We'll talk about the game that will start in about an hour from now, a little less than that, the New York Yankees and the Red Sox.
We'll talk about the teams that are already set: the Phils and the Dodgers. And so we got a lot to do when Brittany joins us. in about five minutes. Hey, let's let's put a stamp on this. I am going.
With the Rams. For night. Simple as that. Who's going to have a big game? Puka.
Okay, Puka will have a big game. And then Christian McCaffrey, he'll have no choice. I just hope that he doesn't leave the game. Uh and a body cast. That guy is he's getting every touch imaginable.
Uh maybe you don't want him to do that, given his injury history. uh from last year. Maybe Robinson will will help out quite a bit. as well. Bacha, you going you going with the Los Angeles Rams tonight?
Yes. I don't think I think the majority of people are, hopefully. And I think Kyron Williams will probably have two touchdowns. Yeah, well let's see how that rolls. 49 is they may have to uh Invite some of their fans who made the trip to LA.
You gotta invite them onto the field. Give him a little bit of taste of action. Good luck to Mac Jones. I hope he can move. I know he can't because he has a bad knee.
But heck, somebody has to start. It's it's not going to be a fifty Plus million dollar man in Brock Birdie. The JR Sport Brief Show here with you, coast to coast, on the Infinity Sports Network. We come back, we'll talk some more baseball. Brittany Giroli will join us from the Athletic.

Yeah, we just talked about Thursday night football. It's coming your way in about an hour, but today has been and will continue to be a busy day in Major League Baseball. We're going to find out all the teams that will be advancing out of the wild card round into the divisional round. We already have the Tigers knocking off the Guardians 6-3. We got the Cubs and Padres currently in action.
We got the Yankees and Red Sox sending rookies to the mound in about 40 minutes from now. Joining us right now to talk about the elimination games, what we can expect the rest of the way, starting Saturday, is Brittany Giroli from the Athletic covering all things baseball. Brittany, how are you? I'm good. How are you?
I'm very well. Thank you so much for the time. You know, given what we saw from the Tigers, the collapse throughout the course of the regular season, fifteen and a half game lead blown, to the Guardians. Are you surprised that they kind of flipped the switch in the new season here against these Guardians? I'm not because you know we've seen this before.
The Texas Rangers The year that they won the World Series, Backed into the playoffs. They lost the division on the final day, and people kind of left them for dead. But as we've seen, it all depends on the momentum that you're going to have in October. It's a new month, it's a fresh start. I'm sure that that is what Detroit manager A.J.
Hinch preached to his players. And then they went out there and got it done. You know, I think having Terrek Schoogl obviously really helps. shape a short series. But the Tigers are a dangerous team.
Their bullpen is not quite as good as it was when they kind of were running away with the Central earlier in the year. But they have a pesky lineup and you saw that throughout the series.
So I don't think it's time to panic. Though certainly they're going to have their work cut out for them with the Seattle Mariners who are a higher seed and have been watching and now play the winner of that wild card, which was Detroit.
Well, Britt, we know that the the Mariners have certainly bolstered their their entire offense and lineup, and the pitching has been there over the years, but now it seems like they finally got the offense to match, no? Yeah, I think this is probably their best offensive team in 20 plus years since the last time they were in the ALCS, back when they had Ken Griffey Jr.
So I think obviously they're led by Cal Raleigh, who's had a historic year for a catcher, 60 home runs, broke all kinds of records. Including two of Griffey's records there in Seattle. I think when you look at here, he's having obviously some magnificent Julio Rodriguez as well. But you're right, they went out there and they made additions. They got Eugenio Suarez.
to be kind of a big bat for them. They've seen a lot of resurgence from guys over there, JP Crawford. They're really a team that I think can beat you in a bunch of different ways. And they're very balanced. And you're right in that for a while we were just waiting on the offense.
I mean they had historically good pitching. last year just couldn't get it together offensively. They finally were able to push their chips in. Ownership committed to spending more money at the deadline. And you're seeing a team that a lot of people is predicting is a World Series favorite.
Well, Britt, let's stay. On the American lead side of the bracket. Tonight, we got the Red Sox, the New York Yankees. We got two rookies that'll be on the mound. We know how things can get for any rookie in Yankees Stadium.
I don't care if you're. Pitching for the Yankees, or you're the away guy. What are your thoughts on what we can expect tonight? It's going to be all hands on deck. Are you going to see some starters come out of the bullpen?
Maybe. You're going to see, similar to what the game is going on right now at the Cubs Padres, where they pulled you Darvish before the second inning, you're going to see very aggressive starters. And Toronto, which is sitting around in the first round by, loves it because both of these teams are going to empty their bullpen. Both of them are going to exhaust every avenue that they have. And I expect it to be a close game.
What's been nice so far is there haven't been any blowouts. Every game has been so closely contested. And I expect with the Yankees and Red Sox, it's going to continue to be as they trade blows here. It's going to be really fascinating. to see whether or not the Red Sox can outlast the Yankees because if there is an Achilles heel that New York have, it's that their bullpen is just not there.
The depth is not there compared to many other playoff teams.
Well, Britt, let me ask you this. If the Yankees lose tonight, who's getting blamed? All the Yankee fans are just going to point at Boone, right? They're going to put him on the stake again. Probably.
I think it depends on how they lose. You know, if they don't score at all, I think maybe there'll be a little bit more pressure on Aaron Judge, who it seems has. not able to have, I mean, he's been good, but he hasn't been able to have the, you know, put the team on my back kind of offense that he has for stretches during the regular season. Certainly people are going to point to not starting Jeff Shisholm in game one and kind of what happened there. Obviously he was the hero and the reason they won last night's game.
So there'll be plenty to dissect if they lose this game for sure. Britt Givrolli is here with us. Covers all things baseball for the athletic. As we speak, the Chicago Cubs are trying to get some insurance runs. Up on the board here in the seventh at home.
Michael Bush just said a home run. The Chicago Cubs now lead the Padres 3-0. What are your thoughts on the Cubs and the Padres? It looks like the Cubs, who knows, they may hold on, but then they have the Brewers. Whoever advances has the Brewers right there in front of them.
Do you think the Brewers get the respect they deserve? Yeah, no, I don't and they're similar to the Mariners in that they could pitch for a long time But you know offensively really went cold especially in October when it mattered So I think they're a more balanced team than they have been and I think this is a similar series to the Red Sox Yankees where both teams are really exhausting their bullpens and all of their guys just to get here You know the Cubs very quietly their offenses their big players kind of went cold down the stretch of the regular season They've been okay here, but it's not like they're putting up 10 runs right there there's been really offensive issues for both of these teams I think so you know I think that they're gonna have their work cut out with them with a team like Milwaukee who won a franchise record in games uh really is a total team. They put the ball in play, they pitch. They will hit home runs. They will run the bases.
They really do everything right.
So, I think that they, in my mind, are our favored to win. I don't think this is the Milwaukee of years past that's destined to fold when it gets big. I think they finally have guys. who are capable of getting big hits and big spots. Yeah, we got to wait, I don't know, another hour or so to figure out who their opponent is going to be, the Cubs lead.
San Diego 3-0 trying to advance to take on these Brewers. Last night, Britt, we saw what took place. Los Angeles Dodgers, they handle business again. And now in a matchup that I thought was going to be a a championship series, we get We get Los Angeles and the Phillies. We got them in a divisional round.
What are your thoughts on what this will look like? Man, I hope this goes five, because I think this is going to be a fascinating series to watch. You've got Star Power on both sides. You've got two really good fan bases. And you have a Phillies team whose window is kind of closing here.
They're very hungry to win. You know, they had an injure squad scrimmage and sold out. You know, the city of Philadelphia is dying for a championship. You know, guys like Harper and Kyle Schwarber are not getting any younger. Even without Zach Wheeler, who was so key to their starting pitching staff, the Phillies are dangerous.
They're a very dangerous team. I think they know how good the Dodgers are as well. If there is one weak link that I think was exposed With the Dodgers in those first two games against the Reds, it is that eighth inning. You know, they struggled both nights. They do have some issues when it comes to that bullpen as well.
I think the Phillies are a more complete team, but I think you can't count out a Dodgers team that has Shohei Otani at any point in time. Shohei's going to do what Johe's going to do. And of course, Freddie Freeman always seems to step up when the spotlight is biggest as well.
So this is going to be one of those series that I really hope goes five. And you're going to want to watch it like the Padres Dodgers last year and wonder why wasn't this going to go 10? You just want to watch these two teams square off all the time. I'm really excited for this matchup. Yeah, at least we know Shohei Otani is going to get the start in game one.
You had mentioned some of the Phillies who are older. We know Schwarber is scheduled to be a free agent. Wheeler is is now out with the the the surgery that he had. Is this their last and best chance with this unit to go and win another World Series? I think so.
You know, I mean, I think they're going to try to re sign Schwarber, but it's hard to keep these teams together. You know, you look at Harper and Trey Turner a magnificent year, really the only one of the last three hundred hitters baseball has.
So I do think This is the year they won the NL East. The Mets had their historic collapse. You know, the Mets are going to try to compete again next year. The Braves had a down year as well. This is the easiest road Philly is going to get in winning the division.
I think this is the window. You know, I pick the Phillies out of the NL. I pick Seattle out of the AL. Nothing I've seen so far, because neither team has played, would make me change my mind.
Well, having said that, who do you think is going to hoist the Commissioner's Trophy, Britt? That's tough. You know, I think Seattle has a real chance here. I think if it does happen that Seattle and Philly get there, Seattle has just a little bit more pitching, assuming that Brian Wu is going to be okay. But I think that would just be a magnificent series for all the baseball.
Seattle, of course. looking for their first World Series title. Philly, of course, hoping that the end of this window where they put so much time and resources into it. And Dave Dombrowski leading baseball operations, you know, I think this would be maybe his third title for another team. He just seems to build winners wherever he goes.
Britt Girolli is here with us from the Athletic covers all things baseball. You mentioned Brian Wu. He's been dealing with that chest and shoulder. Should I just throw it out the window that we'll see him in this round? They'd have to advance for us to see him, right?
I think so. I don't know. I think they had another inter squad today. I don't know if I've seen any kind of update. I think they'd prefer.
To not have to use him, right? And prefer to kind of rest him. But also, you can't always count ahead, right? You've got to focus on winning series when you can.
So if he is going to be available and they do go to a potential game five, maybe he is a guy that they start for a couple innings. But I think in a perfect world, yes, they would wait for the ALCS. Britt, thank you for joining us to talk about the postseason. I do want to hit the fast forward button just a little bit to next year. Where we're gonna see the automatic ball strike system used for the first time, full time.
In Major League Baseball history, I guess it is 2025. What the heck? Why not advance? What are your thoughts? Is this going to be a good, slow implementation?
Is it going to be a wild one? What are you thinking? I think so. I mean, this is, you know, still where we're going to need human umpires. This is going to, I think, starting in spring training really going to be a test.
another test for players. How good are you at challenging, at seeing what's going on?
So I think that this is something that's going to be drilled in camps. I'm curious to see how each team approaches it with their guys. And I'm also curious how they're going to enforce other players not being able to help guys. Say challenge this, challenge that. We know in baseball they're going to push the rules.
We know in any press court they're going to push the rules. I'm curious to see how this is all implemented. And we're going to get a good look at that in spring training. Yeah, I think I I love the fact that there's some accountability on the players to hopefully not abuse the system because their teammates and coaches and managers are going to look at them going, what the heck are you doing?
So I I like that part about it. Yeah, and and you know, I think in twenty twenty five they're just trying to get the calls right. more than anything else and that should it should. help some of the egregious calls not happen. Yeah, we all hope so.
Maybe they can give the WNBA some advice. I hear that they have some issues with their calls as well, Britt. We'll see. We'll see. Maybe.

You know, as uh pretty much the last part of the conversation that we had with Britt, didn't involve the the postseason, didn't Involve the World series. It was about next year. The automatic ball strike system, the challenge system. in Major League Baseball. I'm looking forward to it.
I really am. You know, I know there's some people out of concern. They're like, oh my God, the players are going to use this and abuse it. No, but you you have to be judicious. You use it, you lose it.
You don't get em back. You know, you you gotta wait until the end of the game. You can't be standing up there in the first inning just going, oh my God, this was so egregious, and it's close, and you out here blowing a challenge. Your manager's gonna look at you and just like he wants to give you The hook? I like it.
I know we've discussed this, Botcher. You a fan? You excited for this? Oh, I love it. I think.
There's a lot of times where players know exactly when The calls are insanely wrong and egregious. And default them for that? Is just annoying.
So getting the three challenges are two challenges. If you win it, you keep it. It's perfect.
So if someone's ego Makes them lose a challenge.
Okay. But ninety five percent of the time I think when the players are upset, They're usually right. Could you imagine if we had this in other sports? I mean, from the player perspective, could you imagine? Like the NBA, where they could be like, Yeah, his foot was out of bounds, or yeah, that was a foul.
Yeah, I mean, in the end, remember the finals last year, not this year, but with the Luca finals. All that whining and crying he did against the Celtics, there was one point he was on the floor. The call, he was wanting it to be reviewed. He's yelling at the bench for them to review it. They didn't review it.
It's like, Luca, you're wrong. And it's just like for the, there's no a level, there's no level of accountability there. We know the coaches have to make the challenge. I think it's impossible. You don't want that in the NBA and NFL.
I'm not advocating such. I'm just thinking about if that that were the case. I guess with baseball And the pace of play. Here's a pitch. Pause.
He is a pitch. You can do that. But when you have the action of the NFL and NBA, I guess... Guess it'd be impossible, no? The issue with the NBA and the NFL and their challenge system.
comes down to the loose definition. Of what a penalty is and what a foul is. Like baseball, it's like, yes. If it's in the strike zone, it's a strike. Every umpire has a different strike zone.
But now it's not.
Now it doesn't matter. It's going to go off of science and robots and only, only if it's a challenge. Only if it's a challenge. Yeah. But their the correct call is going to be right Unchallenged 100% of the time.
Do you think umpires are now going to adjust what the strike zone is as to what they call a ball or a strike? Are they still going to go willy-nilly? I think it because it depends on what the battery, how tall they are.
So I think they're going to keep it the way they. They've been doing it the last, I don't know, 100 years. Yeah. The issue, like I said, with NFL and NBA is that you can review something. and it be inconclusive.
and therefore you lose your challenge and lose. Right. Baseball with this challenge system, it's just the computer. Did it hit the strike zone? If it did, what.
What can a computer do? See, it can't judge a foul. It can't. It can't. Maybe maybe one day a computer can, but for right now, I don't think it is.
I don't know, maybe I'll be close to death and they'll be able to be like, This was a foul, this wasn't. It it's just it it would have to be judgment calls on Out of bounds. I don't know. Maybe one day the computer will be like the ball went off of him. What are we judging in an NBA game?
Like there's nothing a computer can do, right? Am I wrong? I guess the only thing the computer can do is. Foot on the line. Yeah, foot on the line, but even still.
It depends. You have to have to measure each player's sneakers every game. Computers could do that. Come on, man. Yeah, but like.
You can put images on a basketball court. We should be able to know. The the computer can't look I don't think we're that far away. The computer can tell you if a guy's foot is on the line. Is he in?
Is he out of bounds? Is he on the three-point line? I think a computer can do that today. Like it's like VAR? Yes, easy.
You don't think so? I don't think so, because isn't VER based off of like a microchip in the ball? Where it's like they can see how far. It's the camera. What?
That? The camera and the chip and a ball? No. Yeah, because I know that they use. There's like microchips and.
And stuff in like college basketballs to measure status. I know it's 2025. I know the wood is still the same ass wood just painted from, you know, a hundred million years ago. But if they wanted to utilize technology to go. Was this guy's toe on the line?
They could do it with cameras or they could do it with, I don't know, touch sensor wooden floors. They could do it if they wanted to, it's just expensive. Yeah. And then you have to basically tell every fan Young and old, what the new protocol is, and I don't think half of it, half the people watching, would understand what is going on. Protocol for what?
Was the ball, did he was his foot on the line or not? You should be able to tell in two seconds. Yeah, be like, but stopping the game. Telling the fans we have a challenge or a challenge. No, we don't need no challenge.
No, they do that already. And that's the part that sucks. You get to the end of these stupid NBA games, and the game is flowing. It's good. You got some action.
And then, like, the last five minutes on the clock. It turned into 40 minutes because we got to stop to look at this. We got to stop to look at that. We got to rewind this. I think that would be eliminated.
Maybe one day they get there, but basketball, I think, is difficult. And the NFL is too. You got these giant dudes flying across trying to kill each other. It could be tough. And you are 100% correct.
Sometimes you watch enough football The stupid umpire comes out. Tries to explain a call. And the next thing you know, he's standing there. It's like, wait a minute, did he just make this up? What was it last year?
W was it Washington against Philly? The ref was like, hey, if he keeps doing that. I think it was, uh, Frankie Louvo. He's like, if he keeps doing that, I'm gonna award you a ton I never heard of that in my life. Yeah, man that was actually a real rule, which is absurd.
I think That's when I think the review Booth went down to them and said, Hey, if they keep doing this, we're going to pull out this obscure rule. And have this happen.
Well, we've never needed it. You act like a jackass, and I guess. What we can do is just award the other team a point. Hey, penalty, being a jackass, a six, here's six, you know? Not the not the worst thing.
and the world. And you know what? This is good. We haven't heard too much about the NFL utilizing the new A virtual chain gang. That's a good thing, right?
Which is also makes me question How useful is it? Because I've seen plenty of terrible spots.
So far in football, we're like, that guy was definitely a lot closer to the first down marker. They can use it to see if they got the first, but can't they use it to challenge the spot? It's a very good idea. When they use that system, questions their integrity too. Say this again talking about it.
A player makes a catch, right? They go down. It looks like they get. I don't know, nine yards. They needed another one.
They need another one. But they spotted. Whether that he got eight yards or eight and a half yards.
Okay. Can you use the computer? Tell the refs that spot is egregious. And this is the same thing. It's for first downs.
If you missed it, what? Hey, we're gonna be I'm going to be doing this all game long. It's going to be all game. But that's the difference between Jalen Hurts. Getting two attempts at a tush-push or Maybe one.
Depending on how they have to play their downs.
So, what do you want? The coaches to go out here and challenge that too? No, I would just have the ro if the robot is as fast as they say it is, They should be able to correct horrible spots. That a coach shouldn't have to throw the challenge flag. We will get to a point in time.
Okay? Don't please do not rush it.
Alright, I already told you about the twenty robots outside the office that tried to harass me, okay? We will get to a point in time.
Where the ball will be spotted every single time using technology. Wouldn't you say eventually we'll get there? Yes. And then I think the the robots will then tell us who jumps offside. And then who's lined up all the time?
Yeah, the the humans will be out there getting pinged by by the robots, yeah. Maybe it'll be in their ball cap. Maybe they'll Have listen, Botcha, one day, have you seen? Oh man, this is a story. I'm going to tell you a story on the other side of the break box.
You ready for this? Because this is how all of this technology is going to be implemented into sports. It really is. Like you see uh a guy No, I gotta wait. There's so much technology out here.
And it's not on the field yet. They always say, you know.
society or politics is slow to catch up with what's going on in the world. Sports to a certain degree in certain aspects. It's slow to catch up. to the technologies we have available. I'm going to tell you what somebody showed me the other day.
And I this is going to be used. On every field sooner than later. I'll tell you on the other side of the break. We'll talk about something innovative that the NFL is getting ready to do. They're starting another league.
I will explain. We'll talk more technology. We're getting ready for Thursday night football. We got elimination games and MLB. A lot's going on.
