Much love and many thanks to everybody tuned in and locked in all over North America. I hope you've had a tremendous Friday. I hope you've had a tremendous week. And if not, let me get you closer to the weekend, okay? Regardless of what took place this week.

Let me get you closer to the weekend. There's a lot going on in the world of sports. I'm sure by now you've heard. Michael Parsons is the latest player in the NFL, the latest player in the NFC East. To ask for a trade.

Michael Parsons wants out. from the Dallas Cowboys. Is sick and tired of the disrespect. He wants a new deal. A matter of fact, screw that.

He wants a new team. We're going to talk about it. Matter of fact, we're going to be joined by Lindsay Rhodes from Sumer Sports. She's joined us in the past. She covers all things NFL.

She'll be here with us next hour. Speaking of NFL Beefs, not including Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys. Tyree Kill responding to Tua Tonga Valala. Last week, Tua said, hey man, you need to. Need to grow up a little bit.

Tyreek Hill responding to that. Even more beef in Major League Baseball. Nothing to do with the trade deadline. Rob Manfred announcing today that the 2027 All-Star Game is going to take place. at Wrigley Field, the home of the Cubs.

And then Rob Manfred said, Me and Bryce Harper, we don't have beef. Hall of Fame game was last night. Kyle Allen looked like crap. Trey Lance looked good against some backups. Maybe Trey Lance will do that against some real NFL players.

I highly doubt that.

Sorry about that. We saw the debut of the new first down technology. Goodbye to the chain gang, condos order. They are now the back ups. ESPN They're gonna be broadcasting a whole hell of a lot more than first take and Pat McAfee They're picking up NFL Red Zone.

We got Bill Madden coming through, baseball writer, and Of course, we'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history. A lot to get into, a lot to discuss. I'm in Atlanta, Georgia. Thank you to our producer in New York City holding it down, Ryan Botcher. You can always listen to the show on the free Odyssey app.

your local Infinity Sports Network affiliate. If you got SiriusXM, it's channel three hundred seventy five. and if you got a smart speaker. Ask the speaker to play the Infinity Sports. Network.

You can call up and be a part of the show too. It is Friday, which means that uh we get a lot of crazy people that call up. They're ready for the weekend. Maybe had something to drink, or two Maybe they're getting things started, whatever the case might be. You can call me 888-710-4ISN is the number.

That's 888-710-45. four I S N Famiolana exists everywhere at JR Sport Brief. Uh Bacha, it didn't even take us Two days. To have another guy just come out here and request a trade. It didn't even take two days.

I think Micah Parsons saw what Terry McLaurin did and was like, hey, that's a pretty good idea.

So he just followed suit. Yeah. We we talked about Terry McLaurin yesterday. Requesting out From the Washington command is not happy with some of the contracts that have been offered to him. Top wide receiver Jamar Chase is getting 40 mil.

Terry McLaurin is making like 22 mil.

Some of the next guys up, CeeDee Lamb, Justin Jefferson, they're in that 35-32 mil range. And he wants to be paid commensurate to his production. More than a thousand yards receiving, thirteen touchdowns, Turn McLaurin. Once is check. He's not on social media putting out statements, but it was reported he has formally requested a trade.

And so then today, As you just heard from Botcher, Michael Parsons has decided to take that. A step further. First, we got several articles that Things might start to heat up. when it comes to Michael Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys, we started to get reports from Diana Rossini. That Michael Parsons may, you know, take some big measures here to kind of move his contract negotiations along.

And then well, forget all of that. We heard from Michael Parsons. This man put out one of these uh five page letters that you sent to your girlfriend when Well, I'm doing that wrong.

Well, maybe I am. Botch, you know what the hell I mean. When you're in heist, you ever got one of those before from a girl? Like an essay? Yeah, she sent she she rips out eight pages of loose leaf and she sends you a break-up letter.

You got one of those? Loose leaf, no. But I've had long messages from girls. Oh, my goodness Well, that's what Michael Parsons did to the Dallas Cowboys. Except for Michael Parsons decided to share his publicly.

I'm not going to read this whole damn thing, because it is way too long. He wrote it in his uh There's Apple notes or whatever, okay? He said, Yes, I wanted to be here. I did everything to show that I wanted to be a cowboy. He said that he tried to negotiate a new contract last year.

The Dallas Cowboys wanted nothing to do with it. He said he sucked it up, didn't worry about it. He said he went into this offseason. He said he was having a conversation with Jerry Jones about leadership. And at that point, Jerry Jones thought that there was contract negotiations.

You might recall a few months ago, by the way, that Jerry Jones said, yeah, I'm not talking to his agent. I don't even know who his agent is. I digress. We'll hear that in a second. Michael Parsons continued on and said.

Since we had that conversation, I had my agent get in touch with the Dallas Cowboys. And they said, We already have a deal with Micah. We did one directly. What? And since that point, since that moment, apparently, the Dallas Cowboys have refused to communicate.

with his agent, Michael Parsons' agent, David Mullagetta. This is typical Cowboys, and here we are. Michael Parsons has showed up to Dallas Cowboys training camp in Oxnard, California. He's been a participant on the sidelines, not on the field. and he is waiting on a new contract.

Until today, when he sent out this twenty page letter. that he decided to post on social media. In conclusion he pretty much said Not one demand has been made by my agent about money, years, or anything else. Up to today the team has not had a single conversation with my agent about a contract. Still I stayed quiet.

But again, after repeated shots at myself and all the narratives, I have made a tough decision I no longer want to play for the Dallas Cowboys. My trade request has been formally submitted to Stephen Jones. personally. This is the most Dallas Cow now you know why they haven't won a championship in like thirty years.

Now you know why they're a laughing stock. And I can't even say now. it just becomes even more clear that that Jerry Jones is is insane. Like it's one thing to be out here negotiating, and he is a smart businessman. The Dallas Cowboys are worth $15 million, or excuse me, billion with a B.

But the fact is, Are you trying to win football games? Are you just trying to be wealthy? You're already wealthy. You're already in your 80s. It's not like you're traveling the world, and I don't know.

Maybe he's hanging out with. I can't say that I get in trouble. Maybe he's just having the time of his life, but I doubt it. This guy is committed to the Cowboys. He's committed to a loser.

He he's his own worst enemy. Like this is not how you do business if you want to be a winning franchise or a winning organization. Jerry Jones is delusional. And I feel like every single year it gets worse and worse. We saw what took place with Dak Prescott.

He's had to overpay this guy twice.

so much so that now he's the highest paid quarterback in the entire NFL at sixty million per. He had to do the same damn thing with C De Lamb. He made both of these guys wait last year until up to the minute right before the season. before they got their new contracts. And so it's not surprising that Micah is taking this long.

But what is just disgusting and abhorrent is the fact that he won't even speak to his agent. What are we doing? Like at what point? Does the NFL Players Association Become involved. Like, he has a right.

to have an agent, and he does. and the Dallas Cowboys should be communicating with him if that is their goal.

Now the Cowboys don't have to do squat diddly. They can wait until the final minute and call David Mulliguetta and go, Hey, you want this deal or not? The Dallas Cowboys also have the option of hitting him with a franchise tag. And so the best thing that Michael Parsons can do is be miserable, Be a jerk. And today was the start in that and trying to force a deal.

Now like Terry McLaurin, do I believe that a contract will be agreed to before the season? Yes, I do. I still think Micah Parsons is going to stick around with the Dallas Cowboys. The Dallas Cowboys, as an organization, not just run by one man. can be that stupid.

To trade Michael Parsons, to say, you know what, screw this, we're just going to let him go. They are the Dallas Cowboys, so that still exists. But the cowboys are dumb. They could have had this guy signed. And they wouldn't have had to pay him.

More than forty million dollars plus. A year Come on now. Jurry Jones is just being an ass. Remember a couple of months ago, and everything that Michael Parsons said today. It all lines up.

Remember When Jerry Jones said, I don't even know who his agent is, I talked to him directly. Listen to this. Are you kidding me? That's just not something that you should worry about. You should be worrying about your ability.

to make it work and you should be worried about what the player does. Does he have good enough health? Does he have enough skill? to do what you're paying him the money for. The agent is not a factor here.

or something to worry about. And I don't know his name. And so my point is that I'm not trying to demean you. in any way. But this isn't about a nature.

The agent doesn't have one thing to do. with what we're doing. when we get on a football field against a team. Micah does. To the degree I'm involved, I'll do it.

Oh, come on. Like he he he has the right to have an agent. and in good faith you can communicate with him. Michael Parsons said that, yeah, we had a chat and I spoke to Jerry Jones and then they interpreted this as as contract uh contractual negotiations. He said, No, go go talk to my agent.

Michael Parks. My agent's been reaching out. Michael Parsons didn't just just say that in public. Michael Parsons put that he put that in a tweet. He said that, yeah, I I spoke to the boss, I spoke to the owner, but I have an agent.

Any deal that gets done. will take place with my agent? and the Dallas Cowboys. And then, what you just heard, Michael Parsons, he verbalized it as well. Take a listen to this.

My agent's been reaching out. As at one point, another grown man has to be willing to reach out as a self, you know what I mean? Like, communication works both ways. They reached out, you know, so that needs to happen too. They gotta want to do it on their part.

Oh yeah, we heard all the crap from them over the past several weeks that Micah has to want the deal. He has to want the deal. What do they want him to do? Stand on his hands and walk backwards to get a contract? Does he have to toss uh David Mullageta, his agent, into the the Pacific Ocean in order to get a deal done?

Jerry Jones is a lunatic. He's nuts. This is what he had to say about speaking to Micah directly. We've had a meeting at the Mines. Why have you not had that same meeting in Mines with his agent?

Well, I don't know that, you know, it's I'm the one who has to sign the check and Michael's the one who has to agree to it. That's the straightest way to get there is. The one writing the check and the one agreeing to it talking. And that's the principle that's involved here. And I understand all the other issues, but As you know, it's not uncommon for me to negotiate directly with players.

Um uh I've done that. Oh, come on, man, come on, man. He is nuts. You heard Michael Parsons also not happy with some of the the comments by Jeriya, About injuries and time. He said he was hurt.

He said he was going six games. He was not. He only missed four. He's all over the place. Remember this?

He he managed to diss Both Dak Prescott and Michael Parsons in the same space when it comes down to paying him. Just because we sign him doesn't mean we're going to have him. He was hurt six games last year. Seriously. We've signed, I remember signing a player for the highest paid position in the league, and he got knocked out two-thirds of the year.

Doc Prescott.

So there's a lot of things you can think about when you... Just as the player does when you're thinking about committing and guaranteeing money.

So what, Jerry, you you don't want Michael Parsons? You don't want the guy who's been to four Pro Bowls, already been an All Pro, the guy who had oh, it wasn't it wasn't six games that he missed, Jerry. He only missed four of them. He had twelve sacks in thirteen games. You don't want this guy, Jerry?

You don't want 'em?

Well, Jerry, do you even know who he is? You don't know how many games he played. You don't know how many games he missed. Is he Michael or is he Michael? Of all of the people that I've sat down with as a player, of all the players that I've ever negotiated with.

Michael Parson is as savvy and knowledgeable an understanding of his financial business relative to football as any player I've ever been around.

Okay. It ca it can be forgiven. You I I talk for four hours every day. I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna misspeak. I'm gonna say the wrong thing.

It happens. Everybody's human. He's gonna do the same thing too. He's an older gentleman. You're damn right he's goin' make mistakes, we all Make mistakes.

But Jerry Jones is just run on a series. Of mistakes. He has run on a series of unfortunate events. Everything taking place with the Commanders and Terry McLaurin, it makes sense. You have a wide receiver on the other side of thirty who's still ridiculously productive.

He helped just take the team out of obscurity, almost helped take them to a Super Bowl with a rookie quarterback. He wants his last major bite. at the apple. And it's also reasonable That the Washington commanders kind of put the screws to him and just go, hey man, this is what you're worth. It's going to go down to the wire.

He's staying with the commanders, he's not going anywhere. It's a different situation with the Dallas Cowboys. Because every season, every year, every off season is a different joke. Is it the coach getting fired? Who is the coach?

Who's the newest, latest whipping boy for Jerry Jones? How do him and his son how do they insult the players next?

So I think Michael Parsons is going to leave now. But the Dallas Cowboys You know, you you think about cowboys and Think about the road here, right? They're more like a circus. Three rings with a big old star. And I don't know if this is Jerry Jones' grand scheme, his grand plan.

All attention is good attention. All press is good press. They talk about the Dallas Cowboys, then the the valuation of the team goes up. And maybe, just maybe, one day he'll uh He'll accidentally strike it rich and win a Super Bowl, not oil. I doubt it.

The Dallas Cowboys are embarrassing. They're a clown show. I think the only person that's not in on the reality of what they are is the guy making buckets of money off of 'em. It's Jerry Jones. He's the only guy that doesn't realize That they are a joke, they have been a joke.

And I don't even know if he knows how long it's been since they won a championship. And the reason why is, well, him? You can build a good team, you can spend money, you can draft good players, but eventually to get over the hump, you have to get your old ass out the way. And so I think Micah is going to come to terms on a contract with the Dallas Cowboys. It may come down to the final minute.

Damn it, he may miss a week. of the regular season, but I can't see them trading him. Heartily, heartily, heartily But I'll tell you this much They ain't winning no title, not this year. As long as Jerry acts like this, unless somebody else takes the reins, which we know is not happening, he will take his last breath as the owner, as the GM of the Dallas Cowboys. They're not wanting squat.

And Micah?

Well Just just a couple of days ago he said I showed up to work for my teammates. not for jury. Do you remember this? At the end of the day, I'm here for my teammates. I'm not here to please another grown man.

I'm here for them. I want to be here with Trey, watch him rehab, watch him be on the field, watch his growth. I want to be here battling with Terrence Steele. I'm here for these guys, I'm not here for him. Yeah, m you're not here for Jerry Jones.

C. D. Lamb put a tweet out basically saying, Here we go, same old, same old, pay to man. Multiple Dallas Cowboy teammates have put up icons or what do you call them? Headshots and and and profile photos of Michael Parsons.

The Dallas Cowboys are behind this guy because they know how nutty their owner is. He writes the checks. But just because you write the checks doesn't mean that you're not a dumbass. And these are some dumbass moves. BY Jerry Jones.

I expect Michael Parsons to get paid.

Sometime between now and into September. I wouldn't be surprised if he missed a week. But I think the deal will get done. think the Dallas Cowboys know the damage that would be caused if they decided to trade him. It's the JR Sport Re Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network.

888-710-4ISN is the number. That's 888-710-4ISN. Lindsay Rhodes is going to join us, has covered the NFL for years now, multiple outlets. She's going to join us on behalf of Sumer Sports. We're going to have a chat later on in the show about everything baseball with Bill Madden, now that we are post-trade deadline.

And we have so much to get into. It's the JR Sport Brief Show just getting started. We'll talk about another beef on the other side of the break. One Infinity Sports Network dumb move. Now, you might be wondering, why is Schwab doing a golf podcast?

Well, you might already know Schwab from their five other podcasts covering investing and the markets. Quick plug, you can find those at schwab.com slash podcasts. But this one's different. Invested in the game goes beyond finance into something many of Schwab's clients are deeply passionate about. Golf.

This podcast is their way of sharing the incredible stories behind the game. Listen now at schwab.com/slash the game or wherever you get your podcasts. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief. Yeah, well, if.

I think most people are hip to it. The Dallas Cowboys have seen better days, they've seen better decades. They could. won all the twelve games they want, but they haven't they haven't gone anywhere. And this year, damn it, they ain't winning no 12 games.

We talked about Michael Parsons and his trade request. uh prior to the break to start the show. I don't think Micah Parsons is going anywhere. I think that this could get uglier. think his holdout, even though he's in at training camp, I believe it could last to start the season.

I wouldn't be surprised if he missed a week, but I think ultimately they'll get a deal done. I don't think ultimately Michael wants to leave. I don't think the Cowboys want him to leave. I think he is just trying to put the screws to the Cowboys. and let everybody know how ridiculous they are.

I mean us here talking about it. You know, helps put the Dallas Cowboys on blast. I mean, Michael Parsons put them on blast. And I think this also puts pressure. On Jerry Jones.

He might not think it does, but I think the Dallas Cowboys fan base, look, they're they're not that stupid. They're not delusional. they realize what has taken place, what's gone on, And that there's only one guy in the midst of all of this, and it's Jerry Jones. Pretty ridiculous to not talk to the guy's agent feeling that you negotiated a deal. directly with the player.

That's not not not fair, not cool. Not how things work. The Dallas Cowboys always doing ridiculous things in negotiations. 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN.

What are your thoughts on Michael Parsons' trade request? Do you think he's really going to leave? Do you think the Dallas Cowboys are really going to trade him? I don't think so. 888-710-4ISN.

Michael Parsons and Jerry Jones dealing with their own beef at this point in time. Speaking of beef. By the way, this is not a beef. Congratulations. To everybody on the north side of Chicago.

The Chicago Cubs have got their hands on the All Star game in twenty twenty seven. I mean, Wrigley Field has undergone renovations for the past several years, on and on and on, to help modernize one of Major League Baseball's oldest ballparks. And so they're going to be rewarded uh with a new All-Star game in twenty twenty seven. We just had the All-Star game here in Atlanta, Georgia a few weeks ago.

Next year, the All-Star Game is going to take place in the city of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia. And so Rob Manfred made that announcement today. specifically in relation to uh the game in Chicago. Then of course he was He couldn't just talk about The All-Star Game. There were members of the media who had questions about the big news story from last week.

That robbed man, Fred. was in the Philly's locker room, As he is uh apt to do, just kinda go around all locker rooms across Major League Baseball and kind of shake hands and smile like a a guy in a suit. And apparently he was talking about the upcoming CBA, the the expiring CBA next year of Major League Baseball. And apparently he had brought up reven not revenue sharing, excuse me he had brought up a salary cap, and Bryce Harper reportedly told him Man, if you're going to talk about a salary cap, then you can just get the bleep. out of our locker room get the bleep out of our clubhouse.

and Rob Manfred reportedly got right back at him? And uh ultimately they they shook hands and, you know, everything was fine. That was the story. But to day Rob Manfred was asked about it, And he said, Well, That's not quite how things happen. Listen to this.

Look, you know, I I don't Talk about those player meetings. Let me say this: I think more has been made out of this than needs to be made out of it. Bryce expressed his views at the end of the meeting. We shook hands and went our separate ways. Just not all that significant.

But is it any sort of illustration of the divide between the leading players? I really. You know, it was an individual. Picking a particular way to express himself, and I don't think you need to make more out of that than that. Oh, or damn.

At Bantra, it sounds like everything that was reported is true. Yeah. It was accurate that they had a handshake and they were talking about a salary cap. And yeah.

Now do you think He could have aggressively said this in a Joking way, like I am eighty percent serious, twenty percent joking. Man, if you're gonna talk about that salary cap, man, get the heck on out of you. Is that a possibility? I think Bryce Harper is one of the most serious guys. In the locker room at least.

He's all business. And especially when it comes to their money, he's not joking around. Damn, okay, well damn. At least he didn't hit the well, that'd have been a different story if he hit the commissioner, right? But he it seemed th the way it was reported, he got up in his face, right?

So Yeah. It could have been close.

Well, Rob Manfred, it was reported that he went right back at 'em.

So, I mean, Rob Manfred got some uh cajones on him, huh? It's good enough for him. Because if I had a player cursing me, who?

Well, you n if you're Rob Manfred, you know y nobody's touching you, right? Like nobody's hitting a commission. Have we ever had a commissioner We've never had a commissioner had somebody put his hands on him. Never Not off the top of our heads, but I don't know if If Bob Manford tried to do this... back in the day He might have actually been roughed up a little bit.

Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Like the 70s or something, right? 70s, 80s? Yes. Yeah, he'd have got hit back.

Yeah, he would have. He would have. Yeah, could you imagine Tom Brady slapping Roger Goodell? No. For for deflate gate now.

Could you imagine Draymond Greene walking past Adam Silver and smacking him like uh no, I can't see it. Bryce Harper, I could see Bryce Harper maybe giving him a nudge out the room. I could. Anyway, that situation has been diffused for now. And we'll have more beeps between Major League Baseball and its players between now and the exp at the expiration of its CBA at the end of twenty twenty six.

Oh, by the way, speaking of expiring, we had all these guys get traded yesterday. across Major League Baseball, trade deadline came and went. We'll talk to Bill Madden later in the show. Marcus Strowman of the New York Yankees. He's expired.

His time with the Yankees is done. He signed a two-year contract last season. He's had a knee injury the majority of this season. He started nine games. The only reason he started these nine games is because the Yankees have had injuries to their starting rotation.

A heel is on his way back. They've had other guys step up. And so the Yankees said, Goodbye. to Marcus Stroman. He has a E R A above six.

in nine starts. That's not going to get you a job. That may not keep you a job. The Yankees released him.

Somebody will go out there and give him a chance, give him a shot, give him an opportunity. Ironically, He pitched yesterday for the New York Yankees. Yeah, he was out there for the New York Yankees just yesterday. And then after the game Well He had some, I guess, positive words before he got fired. Marcus Strowman talked about the trade deadline and he said, Oh, I'm excited about what's going on.

Listen to this. Yeah, me and Max were we were kinda sitting together during it and we were saying the same thing. It's like one of the most like hectic, so many different pieces going to different teams at the last minute.

So yeah, pretty crazy, pretty crazy, but obviously exciting for us. And then they fired him. He pitched five innings yesterday, four earned runs. Three strikeouts. Zero walks.

And they fired him. They got him the heliport out of here. He'll end up on some team. and Marcus Strowman. I don't know.

You think about those smaller guys in baseball? Bach, what is he, like, five eight, five seven? I think it was five seven or five eight. Yeah, good luck. Good luck to Marcus Strowman.

He peaked, well, he was at his peak with the Toronto Blue Jays. Let's see where he ends up. I know he's probably going to want to go somewhere where he could kick the Yankees' ass, so we'll see about that. 888-710-4ISN is the number. That's 888-710-4ISN.

Jeremy is here. From Pennsylvania. You're on the JR Sport Reshow, Jeremy. What's up? What's going on, man?

Hey, I've been listening to your show. I love it. Thank you. Hey, I'm right there with you about Jerry Jones being the jackass. I mean, This has been I mean, I'm thirty-five and The last time they were in the Super Bowl, I was like four.

Yeah. So like the irrelevance of the team gets worse and worse. I mean, he hasn't drafted a bunch of bad players other than Dak Prescott. I honestly think. since after season two.

Zach Prescott has been like pretty much horrible. Like Can't really. Yeah, he was an MVP consideration before last season. We can't do that. Ah Yeah, but I've seen his play style, it's ju it's not really good at You know, there are better quarterbacks out there.

There really are. Absolutely. Yeah, absolutely. But no, Jerry Jones, he stands in a way too much with too many decisions that. are too important for that team.

And like the Michael Parsons thing. If I was Parsons, I would leave. There's other teams that would love to have this.

Well, I'm almost certain of it. Unfortunately for him, and thank you, Jeremy, for calling from Pennsylvania. Unfortunately for Michael Parsons. They can franchise tag him. Like the b the only thing he he's under contract for this season.

And then after this season, if the Dallas Cowboys want to tag him, they can't. Like the most that Michael Parsons can do. is be miserable, That's the best. He could send another message tomorrow. He'd be like, screw this, but at the same time, I mean, is he alienating a a future employer by being a malcontent?

Oh, if he's that way on the Cowboys, he's going to be this here. Probably not. He's on the Cowboys with a nutty owner. And I I agree with you, Jeremy. But Jerry Jones owns the team.

Yeah, he got a fifteen billion dollar play toy. Who's gonna tell him something? Nobody. It's the J.R. Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network.

I need you to thank O'Reilly Auto Parts for all of your car care needs, get guaranteed low prices, and excellent customer service from the professional parts people at O'Reilly Auto Parts. We talked about Michael Parsons and his trade request from the Dallas Cowboys.

I don't believe it. We talked about Rob Manfred and his beef.

Well, I guess he doesn't have a beef.

Well I'm sure Bryce Harper has a beef with Rob Manfred. We heard about that. And then We're going to hear and talk about this beef. It's a brewing beef. They're not publicly calling it one, but it's a beef between Tuatonga Valoa.

and Tyree Kill. Or specifically, I'd say the Miami Dolphins and Tyree Kill, because let's be real, Tyree Kill is a world-class. Pain in the ass. 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN.

We're going to talk some football here, more football. Talk about Tyreek Hill, the Dolphins. We'll get into the Hall of Fame game. And we got Lindsey Rhodes coming through next hour from Sumer Sports. But let's go to the phone lines right now.

Let's go to Maryland and let's talk to Todd. Todd, you're on the JR Sport Reef. What's up, man? If they are, look at 'em, bro. Uh we want to talk about I'm sorry, the what?

I said, How are you feeling? Good, brother. Good. Good. No complaints.

Yeah, buddy. Um I want to talk about s Sterling sharp real quick. He's going in the whole thing, correct? Yes, to morrow.

Well, it is tomorrow.

Okay. Hall of Fame takes place tomorrow in Canton, Ohio. What are your thoughts on him? You called up. What's up?

But just Sterling Sharp talk. I have a football card of Sterling Sharp way back when he's about three feet in the air catching the pass. The guy was unbelievable. And I was just curious to know about his numbers. And uh And uh different playoff games or or that they played in?

Well, unfortunately, he was playing with a well, I don't want to call the Magic Man a bum before he he got there. What's his name? Magikowski. And he was putting up ridiculous numbers. I think he might be the first wide receiver in NFL history to corral more than 1,000 or 1,100 yards passing.

In two consecutive seasons. And this is in the late 80s, early 90s, where obviously they're not throwing the football in video game stats and numbers like they are today. They also don't have, well, he didn't have the benefit of being around. For you know, 17-game seasons. And so, what slowed him down and what got him at the end was that neck injury.

By the time Brett Favre arrived, I think they might have played whew. what, three, maybe four seasons together? And then it was it was pretty much over for Sterling Sharp. And so he accumulated all of his stats and accolades. He's going in the Hall of Fame based on seven seasons.

That's it. Wow. That's how good he was. Unbelievable. That guy was unbelievable.

He really was. I mean he was ahead of his time. He was. You're right. All right, brother.

Take care. All right, thank you. Thank you so much. Todd's going from Maryland. Yeah, unfortunately for Sterling Sharp, as we heard yesterday, uh His brother overshadowed his moment with his um Firing.

Now, Bacha, now that I really think about it, Does Shannon Sharp have a leg to stand on? like he apologized to his brother. For the the the announcement coming out, or being released made public, that he was being let go from ESPN. Isn't the larger issue not that he got let go of ESPN and that they announced it, but more so his own behavior? It's both.

So I think He deep down feels that his behavior ruin the moment. for his brother. Because he can say the timing, and he didn't like the timing how they put it out there. But either way, you know deep down he regrets what he did. Yes, so, but isn't there, and I'm thinking, I didn't think about this yesterday, I'm thinking about it now.

Isn't there more accountability by just saying I'm mad that everything that I've done and everything that's resulted of it has taken away from my brother going into the Hall of Fame. Stop. And Period. Me, what I did, my actions, everything that came after. He didn't need to go into.

Well, I asked them not to kind of share this. I asked for this not to be leaked. I didn't want this to be out there. I asked for them to maybe get the news out afterward. Like, that's all to me a deflection, no?

Yeah, he defl he deflected one. But to He He was trying to apologize without having to. go back and bring up The other issues. That's right. Because he's settled and he's not supposed to talk about it.

Oh man, what a world. Damn botcher. I don't want to get into anything that I can't ever talk about. How about that? Damn.

Damn, damn, damn, damn, damn.

Well, his brother is going into the Hall of Fame tomorrow. He is a question botcher. We will not see Hall of Fame or Shannon Sharp in attendance, will we? Oh, I would I would say he would be there. I would assume I'd assume he'd be be there for his brother.

not to say a word. not to do an interview, Uh ESP they're not gonna who who broadcast it, is it? ABC, ESPN, right? I thought it was NFL Network at this point. Oh my god.

I haven't watched this thing in so long. But either way, I think he'll just be in the crowd. Just a little bit. If you're the producer. Do you put Shannon sharp?

Do you put the camera on Shannon when uh Sterling is speaking? Depends if he's brought up.

So if it's like He bring he says, I'd like to think my family Uh-huh. And then you look like, okay. I'd like to thank Shannon, then you have to go to him.

So, like, you got to get a tight shot on Shannon, right? Yeah. So, you like to get the medium-long shot of just the group of people sitting down together. Yeah. Yeah.

And maybe you force Shannon all the way to the end so you don't have to have him in the shot. But if he brings them up specifically, you have to. You have to put them up there. What a world. What a world.

He might be black sheep of the family right now. What a guy. And he can't even talk about what he just did because it It's going to violate his uh his fifty million dollar settlement agreement. What a world What a world. Uh anyway.

Hey, thank you so much, Todd, for calling from Maryland to talk about one of our uh Our Hall of Famer is going into Canton tomorrow. Eric Allen is going in, Jared Allen is going in, Antonio Gates. Is going in. When we come back on the other side of the break, we'll talk more about the Hall of Fame game from last night. There was one guy who stood out.

I don't know if this counts for anything instead.

Well, you you can't be bad. And so we'll talk about Trey Lance on the other side of the break. But I did want to bring up, and then we may have to also get to more of it on the other side. We know that the Miami Dolphins, since the end of last season, I called the Dallas Cowboys a joke, I called them a circus.

Well The Miami Dolphins might as well be at SeaWorld.

Okay? You you go into SeaWorld, the dolphins are flipping around. Do they still got killer whales or we don't do that no more in America? Uh Good question. I don't I don't think there are.

You can't do people get mad that you have animals. You can't do anything with the animals anymore, right? Yeah, you gotta put them back in their original habitat. Yeah, even though that uh L S U Tiger, he can kind of roam by himself in the middle of a swamp, Uh he's okay. A swamp tiger, but all other animals.

We can't have animals at the zoo. Can't have animals in your house. Peter will come after you. Shoutouts to Peter. They wrote me a nice letter one time.

Anyway, shoutouts to Peter. I don't need them getting angry at me. Despite that, the Miami Dolphins. They're a team falling apart at the seams. They went 8-9 last year.

We heard all this from Tyree Kill. About how he didn't want to be there. He wanted to go somewhere where he could win. He's not used to not making the playoffs. He did what we got today.

from Michael Parsons except for Michael Parsons has some sense. Tyreek Hill is just a complete pain in the ass. And so he did all that yapping about wanting to leave. And then he didn't mean it. He was just passionate.

And now he wants to stay, and now he wants to rebuild his relationships. And Tuatanga Valo is just like, Man, you can't say you don't want to be here. And then just think all of this goes away. And so Tyree Kill for right now is on his best behavior. And today Tyree Kill had a response to Tua Tonga Valoa.

We're going to get into that on the other side of the break. Not quite the Dallas Cowboys, but But a different kind of circus. We'll talk some Miami Dolphins. We'll talk some Hall of Fame game from yesterday. Maybe one guy shined in the game last night.

And then we're going to have a chat. with Lindsay Rhodes. from Sumer Sports to Talk All Things NFL. You're locked in. It's the J.R.
