The Cincinnati Bengals are a strong contender for the Super Bowl, with their offense and the potential return of Trey Hendrickson. The Baltimore Ravens are also a complete team, but their brand of football may not pay off in the playoffs. Josh Allen's performance against Patrick Mahomes is a topic of debate, with some questioning his ability to beat the Chiefs in the postseason.

Joan Duran is on his way to the Phillies. Philly's getting a little bit of bullpen to help in that regard. Let's see what else takes place. place. We talked about some of the injuries that have taken place in baseball.

Ronald Acunha Jr. hurting again. Carlos Correa, he's not hurting. He may go back to the Houston Astros. Who knows?

Trey Hendrickson, his wallet, I don't think it's hurting. But he didn't want to pay $50,000 every day for not being at work. Trey Hendrickson showed up. It's a Cincinnati Bengals scam, although, even he's not playing. Not practicing.

He's just. There he's helping. Let somebody else He needs all the help in the world. I hope he has a good lawyer. Gilbert Arena is arrested.

Federal investigation for illegal gambling in his house in California, his mansion. With some uh Israeli crime lord. Allegedly. Shannon Sharp.

Well, his lawyer got him a $50 million settlement, and now Shannon Sharp is no longer employed by ESPN. Apparently. There you have it. More things to do as we continue on with the show. How about this?

It is Wednesday, and an hour from now. It's going to be time for a new top six list. We're going to take a look at some of the six best players. In the NFL heading into 2025. How about this?

He's the best. In about 20 minutes, we're going to have a conversation with Ryan Dunleavy. Who covers all things NFL for the New York Post? That'll be fun having a chat. With Ryan.

And so much to do. You can always listen to this show on the free Odyssey app. Your local Infinity Sports Network affiliate? You got Sirius XMH channel three seventy five. If you got a smart speaker, ask it to play.

The infinity Sports. Network. Man, right before we went to break, We talked about this injury to Ronald Decunha. Guy can't even steal a base anymore. It's not risking it.

Let's just go ahead and put it that way. It's tough. Sports is tough. Everybody gets hurt. Everybody has always gotten hurt.

That's what makes an athlete an athlete: can you be durable? You can be athletic. Can you be durable? Can you play? Are you available?

Could you imagine if Jolen Bede was actually healthy enough to play? Could you imagine if Zion was actually healthy enough to play? Man, we've had so many what-ifs. In the world of sports, when it comes down to injury. And the examples I just gave you are basketball.

And yet, even that, your body is not built to run up and down on a hard wood court. Eighty-two games. For 15 years. It's not built for that. Man, I was hanging out with a basketball player last night.

They're not easy to move around, especially when you're older. It is not an easy thing. to do at all.

Now, you think about the NFL, these guys are beating the living hell out of each other since they were kids. And granted, of course, the physicality becomes i increased as you get older. But you expect injuries. in the NFL. It's going to happen.

You expect injuries in the regular season. You expect injuries in preseason, you expect injuries in training camp. But for whatever reason over the past several days we've had a rash of injuries. In training camp. I mean, like like today and over the past several days.

The Kansas City Chiefs, I mean, all of their wide receivers have an ailment. One guy hits his head. Another guy has an injury with his hammy. It's just. It's nuts.

Take a listen to what Andy Reid had to say about the injuries for the Chiefs. It sounds like a mash unit. Jeff Bassa. Ankle sprain. Jake Brigham Stool, hamstring, Jan Bush hamstring.

Uh Christian Fulton we talked about me um There is rush. Uh hamstring, Scott. Eric Scott, hamstring. Um Xavier banged his head. Uh Hollywood, Akle.

McDonald illness. Sky Moore Hamster.

So, um It's hard work. It's hard. He's like Abacha, did he say worthy? Banged his head. Is that all he said?

Said where are they banged?

Well, this is from yesterday before they got the real Diagnosis. Oh yeah, he's into concussion protocol right now. He did a little bit more than bang his head. And Hollywood Brown. What is so Hollywood about Hollywood Brown?

Marquise Brown. He got an ankle injury. And I mean, the only name he didn't mention was Rashi Rice, and he might as well mention him every time. There's gonna be a suspension coming his way any day, any week now. Uh given the results of his uh His investigation, his criminal activity, you know, driving his luxury car and racing it through the streets of Dallas and causing a car crash that could have killed people.

Anyway. That's the Kansas City Chiefs. They will be fine. They will be aware.

Okay. I'd worry more so about their offensive line. And what that left side of it's gonna look like. I'd worry about that a little bit more than I would worry about their, uh wide receivers. They still got Juju Smith Schuster out there.

What a leader he is, right? He's. I can't believe he's still out there playing. How much does he have left in the tank? This is what he had to say about being the last guy standing.

I mean, it's a huge responsibility. You know, I take it pretty seriously. You know, we got a bunch of young guys in the room, different ages, and, you know, it's for me, it's a... It's a big responsibility I take full control of. And I think I lead by, not just by my words, but by my actions.

And like I said, there's a lot of guys, a lot of experience, different ages, and everyone's coachable.

So I'm glad I take that responsibility. Yeah, man, damn. He's still around. Go back to the Steelers or something like that. Damn, he's been around so long.

You're not even the only team trying to compete. In the AFC, that's hurting busted up. We got John Harbaugh talking about Isaiah Likely. It seemed like he emerged. Might end up being the number one tight end option in Baltimore.

We saw Mark Andrews drop that pass. I can't believe he's still on the team, but eventually he's gonna get phased out. And now, likely, might have a busted-up ankle, he might have a fracture. In his ankle. Listen to what John Harbite had to say about Isaiah likely.

He's going to have surgery. It's it's uh the I think the timeline I saw actually was accurate. on the timeline that it was reported.

So we got a shot to get him back there right away early. We'll see. Um And so that's the good news. You know, it was early in camp, and it's not one of those major. type of deal.

So, but it's something, you know, it's it's multiple weeks. Yeah, that's that's not bad. He said he might be gone for about six weeks. That's not bad. A fracture, two?

Fractures, nothing. By trivial broke a bone, Oh. And I plan to never. Listen, when I was a kid, one of my cousins, he broke his back, right? It said he has a fracture in his back.

I'm like, oh my God. I'm like, you got oh my, is he okay? Is he okay? They're like, Yeah, be fine. And he was up and walking in days, Bacha.

I'm like, that's a fracture in your back?

Okay, I ain't fine. I I didn't know. Whatever. You start to question how bad it back breaks are at that point. Fractures uh I've never broken a bone, thank God, knock on wood.

I think at my age, if I broke a bone right now, I'd be a miserable. Do you know what? Oh my God, I could imagine if I broke a bone. I'm trying to figure out what I could possibly do. To break a bone.

It'd have to be a terrible act. I have to be in a car crash to break a bone. 'Cause I ain't riding no bikes. You ride bikes? Nope.

But I'm more likely to just trip over my own feet and Break an arm.

Okay. All right, well. What is what is this? Chris Purciana was here last night, and we talked about somebody's hamstring, and he said, I might pull my hamstring. You know, turning the corner.

What are y'all made of? Are ya do y'all eat? Do you exercise? Like, why are y'all so fragile? We exercise.

It's just we're getting up there in age. We have to learn how to maintain. We're getting up there.

Okay. So we gotta learn how to, you know. We need rest, like, what is not rest days? We need rest load management. You need load management?

Yes. Try not to pull an Achilles, a calf, anything. We need to talk to Dave and Ryan and get you guys on a load management schedule. No, not on the board itself. Ah, okay.

Commuting around New York. Oh, commuting in New York City, you need load management.

Okay. I thought New York City was supposed to make tough-hearted, cold-hearted individuals, and here you need load management.

Okay. Different world now. Ah, prices go up? The prices the price of Metro, the MTA, is going up next year. How many people threaten to stab you on the way to the office today?

Today? None. I was on a train with a bunch of foreigners. who had took up all the space with suitcases. The suitcases.

Oh, okay. I thought you were going to say you want to train with foreigners. Is that supposed to be threatening? I don't know. No, they see they were very kind.

Oh, that's nice. Did they have food? No, not at all. They seem like they're in a rush to get to you wherever they were going.

Well, as long as you didn't have to avoid anybody trying to stab you or rob you. uh assault you in any way on a way to work. I I I'm glad you made it. I'm glad too. Don't want to get stabbed.

Yeah, no, being stabbed being stabbed is not good. Fractures are not good. Unless you are Isaiah likely and you have a fracture in your foot. Only expected to be out at maximum or minimum, who the hell knows, six weeks. Nothing worse than a fracture.

Damn. You with any NFL guys, they got it good. Just a little fraction of my foot. I'll be back in a couple of weeks. Be on a receiving end of passes.

Touchdown passes from Lamar Jackson. not the worst thing in the world. But you know, people are always going to find something to be miserable about. How about this? Devontae Adams, who has now signed a two-year contract with the Los Angeles Rams.

to eventually be on the receiving end of uh passes from Matthew Stafford, who's dealing with a back issue. Devontae Adams as a result is now on the receiving end of passes, From Jimmy Garoppolo, you might recall Jimmy Garoppolo. And Devontae Adams were on the same team with the Raiders. This is after Devontae Adams went back to play with Derek Carr. Had an amazing year, caught 14 touchdowns, and Derek Carr was basically out the door to New Orleans.

And then Devontae Adams was sick of Jimmy Garoppolo? He was sick of Josh McDaniels. And he basically said it was a miserable time you know, being out there in Las Vegas. And now he's trying to clean things up about playing with Jimmy G. Who, as of right now, this moment, he is the starting quarterback for the Rams until Mr.

Stafford comes back from his back issue. Listen to this. It's amazing. I love Jimmy and it was never a personal thing. And I was hoping we didn't have to have these kind of...

I'm surprised this is the first time it's been brought up, but it's been amazing. We got to, you know, catch up and get on the right page. And obviously that was just a dark moment in all of our lives. I think all of us were pretty miserable over there and we kind of caught up and laughed about it. And we've been making plays since we've been out here, so it's been fun.

Oh yeah, it'll be it'll be fun until he gets led into uh A massive hit by his safety because Jimmy Garoppolo doesn't know. What he's doing. It's speaking to somebody who knows what they're doing. This guy knows what he's doing. Hey, Bacha, we got another trade.

What happened? Yes, the Mets just made a move for Cardinals closer. Uh Ryan Helsley. Pulling up the tweet now, it is for Jesus Baez. A prospect named Dome and Elisa.

I have no idea who the last two are, so. And you never heard of him, so who cares, right? Uh n Haste was buys is pretty good, but other than that it's uh nothing.

Well, this is a good move for the Mets, bolstering up the bullpen. Helsley's been a multiple-time All-Star, so this aren't you a Mets fan? I am. Which is like I'm more mad about the first trade than this trade. What first trade?

The one they did for Taylor Rogers? There's two of them from the Giants. And so, are you not? What they gave up? What they gave up.

They gave up number 10, 12, and a bullpen arm now. for a guy who's gonna be a free agent in four months.

Well, how do you feel about the team as it's currently constructed now that they got help in a bullpen? You got to appreciate that. It got better. They got better, yes, but at the same time This seems like they're going all in this season when they wanted continued success. And it's kind of backwards what they're even talking about.

Well, I mean, Steve Cohen came on four years ago. He told everybody, look, I'm going to compete now and win also into the future. And I I think he's kinda held s uh held fast to that.

So I'm not surprised. Let's see what else happens. We got some trades that are starting to. trickle in.

now that we're less than twenty four hours away. From the trade deadline. Ryan Helsley, no longer a member of the Cardinals, Now, a member of the New York Mets bullpen, which just got stronger. Let's see what they do with some of those bats. I think they may move some of those bats as well.

We'll see. It's the JR Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. We're going to take a break. We come back on the other side. I told you about some of these injuries that have taken place in the NFL.

Guys who are hurt. Stafford's back hurts, likely got a fractured ankle. Trey Hendrickson still doesn't have a deal in the contract. There's just so much going on. And we're going to have a chat with Ryan Dunleavy, who covers all things NFL.

for the New York Post. I'm gonna get some questions in. I'll ask about Micah too. And Terry McLaurin and all these guys, what type of contracts we can expect. We got a lot to get into.

We'll have that chat on the other side of the break. Ryan's unleavey from the New York Post. It's the JR Sport Re-Show. Where? coast to coast on the Infiniti Sports Network.

You're listening to the JR Sport Brief. It is the JR Sport Brief Show here on the Infinity Sports Network. NFL training camps are underway. We got some players who are getting hurt, some players who want new contracts. We got angry coaches, angry players.

We got fights going on. To get an update on what we might be missing, what we need to pay attention to, is someone who covers all things NFL. The New York Post. Thank you for joining us right now, Ryan Dunlevy. Ryan, how are you, man?

What's up, JR? How are you doing? I'm excellent. Thank you for taking the time and joining us.

Well, we do know that Trey Hendrickson decided to show up to work today. I guess getting docked fifty K was enough for him, uh a day. Uh what do you think his deal might ultimately look like, and when do you think it'll get signed?

So yeah, it never really makes sense nowadays. It's funny, JR, right? Like the hold out never what Hassan Reddick did with the Jets last year where he cost himself like half a million dollars that doesn't really make sense 'cause you could just hold in now.

So like I don't even know why anybody doesn't show up. You just hold it you come, you don't practice and you avoid the fifty thousand dollar a day fine and you just say you're banged up and ride an exercise bike.

So uh It sounds like, you know, the reports are that he him and the Bengals are on the same page on years, the same page on average, and it's just a guaranteed money that seems to be holding it up. And the uh doesn't really make a whole lot of sense to me because the uh The edge rusher market is pretty established this year. Like, he's not going to get the 40 million dollars a year that TJ Watt got. He's not going to get the. Uh, 41, the 41 that TJ Watt, the 40 that Miles Darrett got.

But I mean, he's right there in that next group.

So, like, if you're talking. You know, like a three-year 106, like Max Crosby, like a three-year 106 million dollars.

Well, that's two years guaranteed of that is $60 million. Uh three years of guaranteed that is like ninety one million dollars.

So you're I mean it's probably somewhere in between maybe seventy five million dollars should be where they should meet. I don't know the exact numbers. That's just me looking at the market and guessing. He's probably worth three ninety and maybe seventy five guaranteed. And it sounds like maybe the Bengals only want to do two years guaranteed and he wants more than two years guaranteed.

Well, Ryan, we know somebody who is going to get a deal and is likely going to be the highest paid guy in the league not throwing the football. Is Micah Parsons? Is this going to be one of those typical Dallas Cowboy deals that goes down to two hours before game time? I got to tell you, this is the thing I hear unsolicited about from people in the NFL the most. Like, what are they doing?

Like, they're going to pay him. What are they doing every day? They're just costing themselves more money. If they did it last summer, it would have been. Know in the 30 range.

If they did it in March, it would have been in the 35 range. Then it's going to be in the 40 range after Miles Garrett.

Now it's going to be 42 after TJ Watt. Like every day, the price isn't going lower. That's not how these things work.

So, and then you have Jerry Jones pissing them off. with every comment he makes, so that's just gonna make him, you know, uh Want to grab every penny too. Yeah, I think that's what it'll be. We've seen this with Ezekiel Elliott, with Dak Prescott. The cowboys Typically, get their deals done after training camp, that first week of training, that first week of the regular season.

I guess that's what they'll do, but. Look, what they've done for 29 years hasn't really worked to the degree that it's supposed to work, so it's time for them to try something new. They should not do this business strategy again. This was a disaster. They should have signed Parsons long ago, it'll end up costing them more.

I think they'll get it done because. Playing without him doesn't do them any good when Jerry Jones needs to win now as he gets up there in age and Dak Prescott needs to win for his career. you know, career lengths running out, prime running out. Ryan Dunlevy is joining us, covers all things NFL for the New York Post. I guess if we do want to look on the positive side of things, if we take a look across the NFL, Nothing crazy coming out of Steelers camp yet.

All things considered, how are you feeling about this situation and marriage with Aaron Rodgers and Tomlin so far? Honestly, I think it's a good one. That might be a minority opinion, JR, but I think it's a good one. I think if they're. From my year-ish around Aaron Rodgers in New York, somewhat.

And from having to talk to people. You know, two or three times removed from him because he keeps the people once removed from him pretty away from the media. But you know how it works. You know, they tell somebody, we tell somebody. I gather he really needs to respect his coach.

He needs to think that he is maybe not the smartest one in the room. And I think there's a chance that with Mike Tomlin, See. thinks he sees a football equal to his mind. I know that that wasn't the case with Robert Sala or anybody in the Jets.

So I think with Mike Tomlin, he sees somebody who's his equal as a football peer. I think that'll work. I don't know that I would say, like, long term, these two alphas would get along, but everybody knows it's a one-year deal for Rodgers. It could very well be a one-year deal for Mike Tomlin with the Steelers at this point.

So I think those two guys, as they try to. Write the ship and get their own narratives turned around. I think they can put their egos aside and work together as two really smart guys. Tomlin's been looking for his Rogers since Ralphitsburg retired. Rogers has been looking for a coach probably since McCarthy who can get this job done.

So I think they pretty much need each other, and for one year, they can tolerate each other. Or Ryan, you mentioned the fact that this might be a one-year for Mike Tomlin. You mean with Aaron Rodgers, not for being the last year with the Steelers, right? I know he's in a new contract. I mean, I think that we've learned that coaches Contracts can walk away at any time, right?

So, like, We know the Steelers fan base gets. upset with him every year in the playoffs when they you know go nine and eight or ten and seven and don't get the job done We know that coaches Sean Payton, uh, You know, uh Pete Carroll, we know that these coaches have, after they're in, one place for a long time, they kind of Want to reset.

So I wouldn't rule anything out. I would just say, I feel like every January we go through the is Mike Tomlin coming back to the Steelers?

Somebody asks him, he gets fed up and he walks off the podium. I feel like that happens every January. Bye. If he left the Steelers, he would be sucked up in a minute by anybody else, and they would probably end up with a worse coach. But hey, we've seen stranger things happen.

We have Ryan Dunlavius here with us from the New York Post. You talk about the AFC North, those teams along with the Steelers. It's a tough one. Cincinnati will be good if they can get their defense together. We know Baltimore, they should be good if they're healthy competing for another Super Bowl.

Cleveland, God only knows what they're doing with their quarterback situation. Who do you think comes out on top in the AFC North? The Bengals. I think if the Bengals get it all sort of, if they get Trey Hendrickson under contract, They have the offense. I think if they get Trey Hendrickson there, I just think it's you're looking at a team that started slow last year, was the most they were probably the best team ever in the NFL history to miss the playoffs.

So I think that's the team that scares the Ravens, that scares the Chiefs, that nobody would want to play in the playoffs. uh if hendrickson is there and they sort that out And you know, obviously, everything this goes for everybody, you got to stay healthy, blah blah. But all things being equal, I think that's the team I would pick to win the AFC North.

So, the Ravens are probably the most. complete team in the AFC, but I think we've seen that there brand of football doesn't always pay off. Uh in the playoffs and I think the uh The Bengals are the team that would scare everybody in the playoffs.

So if they win the AFC North, I might pick them all the way to the Super Bowl. Wow.

Well, we know Cleveland they're sitting on the uh well, they're sitting in the outhouse. Trying to figure out their quarterback situation. We even heard from Jimmy Haslam yesterday about Shador Sanders. Pretty much putting that pick on Andrew Berry, which was just odd to hear from an owner who's been in support. Of bringing in someone like Deshaun Watson.

What do you think ultimately will happen with Shador? Is he going to be traded before the season? Are they going to move him, cut him? What do you think happens there? No, I think he'll be on the roster as a quarterback and I think they'll end up starting Probably three or four quarterbacks.

Unfortunately, I've seen this covering the Jets and Giants as much as I do. I've seen this like go through. You start four games, then you start four games, then you start four games, then you start the last six games.

So like That's probably what I think Cleveland is headed towards. It's a shame because Kevin Stefansky. He's one of the best coaches in the league, and they're just wasting it with quarterback ineptitude.

So I think Shador will be on the roster. I'm not sure that all four will be on the roster. If you ask me which one I think gets moved, I would probably guess Kenny Pickett. But I would also say Kenny Pickett's good start.

So like... It's a total crapshoot. I don't think. There's a scenario where another team is trading for Shador Sanders before he plays an NFL game. for all the reasons that he fell to the fifth round in the first place.

And I don't think there's a situation where the Browns want to move him because I think that there are certainly people around the Browns who think that they got to steal with him in the fifth round if they can just keep his head on straight. Ryan Dunlevy here with us from the New York Post. You talk about quarterbacks getting shots and opportunities.

Well, we have two that are moving into their second year. Jaden Daniels with Washington, one step away from the Super Bowl. And then you go ahead and think about Caleb Williams with the Chicago Bears now under Ben Johnson. Hard pressed to think that Jaden will have a better year than what he did last year. What are your thoughts on what these two QBs will look like in year two?

Yeah, I think that's what you like We do this, right? Like, we look for the guy who's going to take the huge leap and start to take the guy. who's who's good for granted. And I think Like Jaden Daniels, like you said, he had maybe the best rookie season we've ever seen.

So. He's probably not gonna take a huge leap forward from that. But even if he takes a small step forward or just repeats that, that's real, I mean, You're talking about a guy who's off to a historic start. I do expect a big jump from Caleb Williams. And I know I've seen the practice videos around Twitter where it looks like he's struggling.

From what I understand, Ben Johnson's offense is hard to grasp at first, but once you're in it, you take off, right? Uh I fully expect Caleb Williams is a Cerebral dude, but he's still a very talented football player.

So They've loaded up the skilled players around them. They've built an above-average offensive line and they've given him a head coach. And this isn't working with a guy like. You know, Zach Wilson or somebody who just doesn't have it, Caleb Williams has it and they've put the pieces around him. I think he had some, I don't know, JR, I don't have the numbers in part of me.

I think he had something like 24 touchdowns and six interception pleasure, and everybody acted like he had a terrible year. But by most five years ago, we would have told you that was a great rookie quarterback season.

So I think that all the pieces are there for him to take off. They're just in a situation where. Even if they're much improved, they could still be the fourth best team in their own division and go something like 8-9. Remember that year the AFC North had all four teams above 500 or at 500? That's what the NFC North could be this year.

It certainly can be. Detroit might take a step back. Minnesota, who knows what we get with J.J. McCarthy, is certainly a lot of. a parody in that division.

You had mentioned seeing the Bengals as potential Super Bowl contenders. We know the Eagles coming out of the NFC, they look stacked to go on another potential run. Is that where you would kind of lean early in the season or before the season starts, I would say? My Super Bowl pick as of right now would be Bengals or Ravens, whoever has the Home field in the playoffs. I think it's going to be the Bengals.

So I'll say the Bengals against the. Eagles. That would be my Super Bowl pick right now. Look, America wants Bill's Lions, right? That's what America wants.

I just am gonna need to see. Josh Allen beat Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs before I ever pick it. I mean, we could have this conversation in 2035 when they're both 38 years old, and I'll still be picking Patrick Mahomes because I need to see it. I need to see it and to believe it. And I know Joe Burrow can beat those guys.

I don't know that Josh Allen can. And on the NFC side, look, I love the Lions. But as we saw with the Eagles two years ago. When you lose both your coordinators, offensive and defensive, it can lead to a step back. It puts a lot on the head coach.

Dan Campbell's a great like general energy guy. It's going to put a lot on his offensive and defensive coordinators that they're both first-year guys for a team where it's Super Bowl or bust. The Eagles couldn't do it two years ago, they had to reset again. I don't know if the Lions will be able to do it. If they can, that's a real credit to Campbell.

Oh, yeah, Dan Campbell. He yeah, more biting kneecaps and crushing ankles, so he's going to have to inspire a whole hell of a lot more of that. Hey, Ryan, thank you so much for the time. Please tell everybody where they could follow you and all of your work with the New York Post. I appreciate you, JR.

Yeah, all the NFL coverage for the New York Post is on nypost.com. And then uh me personally Twitter, Instagram, at R Y, Dunley V D U N L E A V Y like the basketball family. Of which I have no relation, but tried to at one point have a game. There's no three-point stroke like the Dunlevy's none. I have one baseline up and under move.

I like to break out. That's about it.

Okay, Ryan. Hey, final question before you get out of here. I just thought of it. Are you sick of Russell Wilson? Have you been inspired by any of his quotes yet?

Look, I think it's real. I think he's in a good part in his career where he keeps bouncing from team to team and it doesn't get dropped. It doesn't get stale. I think that stuff would get stale. It obviously did in Seattle, but it's all new ears: the Giants teammates, the Giants media, the Giants in the building, just like it was new for the Steelers and the Broncos.

So it's energizing at this point. If they're two and seven and it's still relentless optimism, then I think it wears itself out. Yeah, Russell Wilson can do one of those calendars, 365 every day. You rip a new one off and it's a new inspirational quote on your desk. You you can get a new one.

Go ahead and hit rewind. 888-710-4ISN is the number. That's 888. 710.

So, this is the same thing. Maurice is calling from Baltimore. Maurice, you're on the J.R. Sport Reeshow. What's on your mind?

Oh, how you doing? I I had called because I kind of dispute. what Brian has said about Josh Allen not being able to beat Patrick Mahomes. And in the back of my mind, well, well recently, this just the past season. A botched call was really the reason that turned the tide in the game.

They could have really beat them in that game. and when he lost against the Chiefs in thirteen seconds, bad defense to call it.

So and not only that. according to the regular season record, even though he didn't beat him in the playoffs, according to the regular season record, he's four and one against Patrick Mahosey. But that's all I was just calling about.

Well, they're all reasonable, but let's get down to brass tax, Maurice. We know what matters the most is the postseason. And I don't think Josh Allen would tell you anything different. He could be 4-1, 4-0 versus them in the regular season. But when you get to the postseason, the record is 0-4.

Who cares? Two it. Right. That's just what it is, right? Who cares?

You can beat me in a regular season. You're going to beat me when it matters.

Okay. You're right, you're right, you're right. That's the boogeyman. Thank you, Maurice, for calling from Baltimore. Appreciate you, man.

Yeah, you are studying. No doubt about it. Like, if I have to compare this to school. It's something that I haven't done in a while. It's one thing to go through all the pop quizzes.

Bach, do those even still exist in a pop quiz? You got to tell somebody when you're getting a test, right? I had a pop quiz. every now and then in high school for an English class. It was not fun.

Wow.

Why? Because you didn't study, you weren't prepared? No, I would read the books and do what they had to do and study and do the homework. But even still. The way the person made the pop pop quiz, it was like super detailed for no reason.

So it was just horrible. This teacher sounds like a jackass. Was the teacher a jackass? A little bit. Nobody liked her.

Yeah.

Okay, wow. There we go.

Well, I know I'm getting emails from a teacher. I know about that. I made a joke one time, Botcher. where I said that when I was in college I uh You know, I I I made a joke one time about a professor Asking me where my work is, and I'm saying, why do I need to give you work? I'm paying your salary.

Like, if I don't want to do an assignment, Then that's my business. Do you know I got an email from a professor who was offended by what I said? Like a fan or the professor? No, a listener. A listener.

Oh, a listener who happened to be a college professor. I didn't even read it. I just saw the first line, and I said, I'm not reading this crap. It was basically, hey, I listened to you. I don't appreciate what you said, though, about college professors.

I'm like, I ain't say nothing about college professors. Shout outs to the professors out there. But my point was, There'll be some classes I would sit in through school. And I would do the math in my head about the assignments. This assignment is worth this many points.

This assignment is worth this many. If I want an A or whatever, I can do this. If I want a B, I can do this. I could do this. And so I would pick and choose what assignments that I wanted to do.

Knowing that I still, if I did what I needed to do, Still get a passing grade and a decent one. And so I had a professor one time ask me, hey, you know, Mr. Jackson, why didn't you do your assignment? I'm just like, I didn't want to, I didn't need to. And I said, what I should have said is, and by the way, I also pay your salary, lay off of me, you know?

Yeah, that's not bad. Especially because There were times where I have thought about just skipping and just not going to classes because I had an A already and there was no reason to go. Yeah.

Yeah, that well well, welcome to my entire school experience. Botcha, that was my school experience since I was in middle school, bro.

Okay. Well, I got harassed as a kid, basically, to get good grades and get scholarships.

So it was like. Don't disappoint the family. Oh yeah, I did too. That's why I quit. I said, Who needs this stuff?

Not me.

So I'm doing everything I need to do. And by the time I was in college, I was already working, making money. I'm like, what am I sitting here for? Paying the school money. Why am I paying the school money?

that I'm busting my ass to make. I'm keeping it. I mean, I was already in the media field. I'm like, what am I working for? At school for?

What am I doing this for? And so, shout outs to the angry professors out there. Ah. They should be on break, most of them, right? Unless you're doing quarters.

Shouldn't college professors be on vacation, something like that? Most of them. I also think. Summer classes might be done soon because it's like a usually it's like a two to three week rapid course, right?

Okay. Shout outs to everybody out there in school. Get good grades. Educate the youth. I educate the youth.

I've been on school tours for years. Notre Dame, Ohio State, LSU. I've been all over the place, man. Give me a break. Anyway, when it comes down to Josh Allen.

You can pass all the pop quizzes you want. You can do all of that and and you can ace them. But you when you get to the final exam at the end, you fail.

Okay? Josh Allen, I'm gonna say it again. When it comes to the Kansas City Chiefs, In the postseason. He is O And Four. And you can't A race.

That Then go away. Uh speaking of championships. I don't know what possessed Darryl Maury. Who is the GM president, whatever the hell he is for the 76ers, used to run the Houston Rockets. This man spoke to Joe Varden from the athletic, which we've had Joe on.

Damn it, we might have Joe on tomorrow to talk about this. Daryl Maury basically said that most people in the NBA. Look at the Lakers bubble championship and don't view it. as a real title. He said Everyone I speak to around the league.

privately agrees that it doesn't truly hold up as a genuine championship. Perhaps the lasting legacy of the NBA bubble is that the NBA should be proud of its leadership at both the beginning and the end of the pandemic, even though the champion will be forever marked. by an asterisk. Come on, man. You, you, of all people saying that?

You of all people, look at some of the dumbass moves and things that you've done. Like why did you even give Joe Varden a quote? We may have to talk to Joe Varden about this tomorrow. This is just a. Kinda wild.

He said had the Rockets won the title? I absolutely would have celebrated it as legitimate. knowing the immense effort and resilience required. What a way to pat yourself on the back Darryl Murray, why don't you go out there and win something instead of trying to get old Paul George and. Squeeze something out of busted up Joel Enby.

Like, do better, man. Patting yourself on the back for nonsense. Anyway. It's the JR Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. We are going to take a break.

And we come back on the other side, It's Wednesday. It's time for a new top six list. I'm going to give you a top six list of my NFL players, the best NFL players, the top NFL players. Heading into twenty twenty five. Hey, we just talked about Josh Allen is.
