It is Wednesday. Today, I've given you a new top six list. We took a look at some of the best rookies. A matter of fact, not even the best. I gave you a top six list of rookies.

to pay attention to. in twenty twenty five. After Dora Stan is at number one on the list. Hopefully he doesn't uh gets sighted for going a hundred miles per hour Again. That'd be a Quite terrible.

And bad for him. And thank you so much to Pete Fiotec for joining us from collegefootballnews.com.

So take a look at Everything going on in college football. What can we expect now that guys like Travis Hunter and Chadour are gone? What can we look forward to from a Drew Aller and maybe even an Arch Manning who's tempering expectations at Texas? Caitlin Clark is hurt again. Bradley Beal has joined the Clippers.

The MOB All-Star game, it was twenty four hours ago, it's done And we got more to do as we continue with this show. You want to be a part of it? You can. 888-710-54. Four ISN is the number.

That's eight eight eight seven ten. A four. I S N SPs are going on right now. Caitlin Clark is caught in some fire, caught some fire, and jokes for everybody and Carl Anthony Towns, they're making fun of his Botchers, it's safe to say they're making fun of his sexuality or his tone, mannerisms. Just say list.

Yeah, and the NBA, Shane Gillis is like, Carl Anthony Townes in the building. Hey, girl, like, oh my God. He can't be happy about this when he goes home, right? Never. At a certain point he's heard it how many times now?

In the past couple of years, I don't think it bothers him. It's a heretic at the Espy Awards? In front of your peers, It's one thing to have to see these things on social media and you know, clips people edit together go viral. But when you're sitting in a room full of your peers, and these are some of the best athletes, and I guess, and I can't even say I guess.

Some people have thick skin. And other people don't. I mean, we see it when it comes down to the responses and and and the behavior. To Carl Anthony Towne's credit he's never addressed it. I don't think he's ever been asked in like a public forum.

But it's just different when you're in a room. You're powerless. He's the guy's on the stage. He's uh nationally televised. And he's He's making fun of you.

basically saying that Carl Anthony Towns is feminine. It just And he has a beautiful girlfriend, too. I forgot her name, Jordan something. I don't know, but Hey, he makes enough money. Hopefully he can wipe his tears with his eye.

is money. And speaking of wiping money with tears, Russell Wilson has walked on to the stage. Bacha, why is he walking like he already has a hamstring issue? Ah, I don't know, maybe he's just Soar from training camp. That was the rookies that just reported right for the Giants.

So he's not there yet. And they automatically play into Sierra.

So I don't know. Anyway, of course, Russell Wilson is here uh presenting the Jimmy V Award for Perseverance. Because why not? Russell Wilson is such a An amazing guy. Yeah.

Eight eight eight seven ten four I S N That's 888-710-45. Mason is here from San Diego. You're on the JR Sport reshow, Mason, what's on your mind?

Well, what's up, J.R.? Hey, first, love and appreciate you, brother. Like I said, you're my guy, dude. And I do. I love and appreciate what you do.

Thanks. I called about the Raiders, but before I did that, that whole thing with Carl Antony Talents is not cool. I don't know, like, I guess that's the world we live in, where people are like even questioning people's sexuality and stuff like that. That I that's weird. They mind their own business and move on with their life.

You know what I'm saying? Yeah, that's one thing, but it's a joke at the Espy Awards. Everybody knows, everybody in the room knows that. that they may be on the receiving end of a joke or two. It it happens.

What i if you're Carl Anthony Towns, what do you do when you hear something like that? What do you do? You can't I don't know what you can't do because first time you're in the limelight and uh the jokes nowadays that people do are tasteless. It's like tasteless jokes. Yeah, so, yeah, that's not why I called, but I want to address that because I I I didn't know about that.

I'm not I don't watch the SBEs. Yeah, I hear you.

Well, I can only watch it. I can't hear it, but go ahead. What else you got?

Well, I call just to tell you that I really appreciate you mentioning about Hunter Riffro being back in the NFL, man. He had a really good year, and he was a really good guy that should have been like, could have been things. John Gruden drafted him before all of that, the hit job, but it was John Gruden's own doing. And then you had the Henry Ruggs incident and stuff, but that year. Before all of that went down, that year they were rolling.

I think that's the last time they went to the playoffs because Rich Bastakia took over. Right, yeah, yeah. He came over as the interim and then everybody wanted the Well, they they wanted to keep him, wanted to. Yeah. Yeah, yeah.

And I I don't even blame Mark Davis because he you know, he he's trying, he's trying, he don't know what he you know, he's just trying, he's just throwing well the team basically fell into his lap as a result of his dad.

So, I mean, you know, yeah, exactly. But the smartest thing that he ever did was say, Hey, Tom Brady, you come do it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, actually it is. But yeah, I just really appreciated it when I heard it then.

I was like, Yeah, I'm glad that he's back in the league and stuff like that. And I like I said, I'm a Raider fan, but I am I like Hunter Renfro, I always did and stuff, and I always thought he got done. I thought he was I always thought he had got gotten done dirty. By uh Josh McDaniel.

Well, I'm hoping that he's successful. I think we all know that nobody particularly cared for Josh McDaniels. And then at the same time, I think Hunter Renfro had some type of. health issue with his stomach. I don't know what his deal was, but apparently he's he's healthy.

And with health comes, he's also a little older. He's not the biggest guy in the world. And so I'm hoping that he can make a comeback. He's in holding hands.

Well, yeah, he did. I mean, we saw that at Clemson.

So I'm hoping that he can contribute. That'll be a great story if he's one of the reasons that. Of the Panthers go out there and turn things around. Hey, Mason, thank you for calling from San Diego. I appreciate you.

Of course. Love and appreciate you, JR. Thank you. No doubt about it. Yeah, it's it's tricky.

Like the what This is this is the S piece. This is not exactly uh Bacha, what was it, the Oscars, when Will Smith went up there and slapped Chris Rock? I think I think it was the Oscars, if not like the Emmys. Emmys, Oscars, I think it was the Oscars. Yeah, but yeah Nobody's going to get up and slap the comedian at the, you know, the espiel.

It'd be nice. That'd be a great story. I'd love it. But it's not gonna ha could you imagine Kevin Durant getting up to go slap John Cena over a joke? It's not I said, could you imagine Kevin Durant getting up to slap John Cena at a joke?

Oh, that'd be fun though. I would pay to see that. It'd be fun, but it'd be. I don't think it ever happened. I'm still trying to understand that there have been two instances.

in television. And I gotta say television history. I'm not no TV historian. But I'd say over recent memory. As recent as you can be, 20 years, 25 years.

There have been two things that have made me go, Did I really just see that? on T V. It's one instance where we had uh you know Janet Jackson Mm-mm. And Justin Timberlake ripped the top off, and I'm just like, Whoa, did I just see what I just saw? What was that?

Okay? That was one time. And the only other time is it was a s it was a Sunday night, and I was watching the award show. And then, you know, Chris Rock is telling jokes. He's a comedian.

And the next thing you know, you hear a voice yelling sounds like well keep my wife's name out your your mouth and then he went up on the stage and slapped him. And then they showed everybody In the entire studio, or not the studio, but everybody in the crowd is going. What? They even showed Lapita in Niyongo's face, and she looked shocked. And I'm like, did.

Is this a skit? Is this real? Did Will Smith, Really step out onto a stage and slap Chris Rock? The answer was yes. Those are the only two things I've ever seen that have shocked me on T V.

Eight eight eight seven ten four I S N That's eight eight eight seven ten four I S N. Hey, we got Skip. He's calling from Jacksonville, Florida. You on the chair of Sport Re Show, skip WhatsApp. JR, good to talk to you.

Thank you for being here. What's going on with you? I just think this Carl Anthony Town thing is just silly because There's plenty of men who you know they might be androgynous or they're straight, but who cares if they have mannerisms that can be made fun of. It's okay. People make fun of uh it's fun it's okay to make fun of things like You just have to have thick skin.

Um I think that I've been made fun of in the past because sometimes when I talk, it sounds a little lispy.

So I've been accused, you know, as a joking way, oh, are you are you gay or something? No, it's just it's just a joke. I don't think it's a big deal. Right. Yeah, but it's a different thing when you're calling Anthony Towns and you're seven feet tall.

And you're a giant And you know, you play in the NBA, and there's an expectation for you, and professional sports is still oozing. you know, uh my cheese mo, you're supposed to be tough and You know, when Carl Anthony Towns is on the court. And he bacha, what are they? What's the clip? Maybe we can find it online.

He's. When he gets rebounds or he gets fouled, that's a foul. Like, people are making fun of him. That's what they're doing. That.

from his the way he flicked his hands weirdly when he passed. He struggled backing down to Marcus Cousins a long time ago and that became a meme. It's just a lot of things that have compiled over the last couple of years. and him coming to New York and I was called Big Purr 'cause he's cat. It's like It's a lot of things that can be easily made fun of if he doesn't address it, and he hasn't really addressed it.

He just kind of is. playing it out and I don't think it if it bothered him that much he would make a public stance against it, but it's just still uncomfortable to see As just an outsider looking at the NBA. It just, it's just he can't catch a break. Eight eight eight seven ten four I S N. That's 888-710-4ISN.

Jackson here from DC. What's up, Jackson? Hey man, how are you? Go ahead, shoot. Hello?

You live on the radio, Jackson. I got you. Go ahead. I just wanted to talk about Quinshaw and Judkins because I'm like a big OSU fan, like not so much of the Browns, but I just like to Although um like follow my buck as they like are in the NFL and he just got arrested.

So Yeah, well, we saw that. You have a question for me in regards to why he got arrested. I mean, we saw it was for alleged domestic violence. Yeah, do you think there's like any like I I saw he like cancelled one of his like like youth camps, do you think he's like everything's going to be good and he's going to be good to go for the season? Uh no, I think if he's found guilty of putting his hands on a woman, he's gonna be suspended by the NFL.

and be in some trouble. I think one of the larger, not even a larger issue, this is Small Beans. He hasn't even signed his rookie contract as of yet. And so, I don't know. When it comes to allegations of putting your hands on a woman, and this is not something that he denied.

It's not something that his lawyer denied. The most that I saw was they said, well, she filed the complaint a few days after the incident took place, the alleged incident. And so, what? Did an incident take place? You know, nobody disavowed anything.

And so, yeah, i if I were him, I'd cancel a camp too. I don't think you could be uh you know, someone who allegedly put their hands on a woman. And then a couple of days later, you know, show up at a football camp encouraging kids. I think it'd be in your best interest to probably lay low and stay the hell out the way for a little while as the. You know, the the judicial system plays itself out.

So, man, good on you. For being an OU fan and taking a look at what they do, but I think Judkins has bigger issues than his camp. Yes. Um, can I ask another quick question? Shoot.

Um, so I'm also like obviously I'm from DC and I'm a pretty big Commanders fan and I've been getting like the updates that Terry is not like the happiest and hasn't like resigned. Do you think that's going to work out? I think when you have a quarterback moving into his sophomore year, Jaden Daniels just had one of the best rookie seasons that we have ever had a quarterback. He was one step away from the Super Bowl. I think to take away his.

His number one option and his number one wide receiver. I know they just brought in Debo Samuel. I think that would be robbery for him. And so it may take The offseason, it may take into training camp, but I would think Terry McLaurin is gonna show up to work. Because I think A, He wants to be there for his guy, Jaden Daniels.

And I think, B, I think if you're the Washington Commanders, you don't want to go out there and screw things up. You don't want to fix it. I mean, what are the odds that Jaden Daniels has the same year that he had last year? the odds are very low. But even at that, if he goes out there and has another amazing season, you want to make sure that Terry McLaurin is there to do it.

So I think he'll be out on the field for week one. Yeah, also 'cause like Terry had like probably one of his best seasons. Last year. Yeah, he had thirteen, fourteen touchdowns last year. Yeah, so I just hope, also 'cause he's an OSU guy.

So I met him at training camp a couple of times. And it was really cool. Yeah, no, he's been said to be one of the most authentic people ever, always signing autographs. Hey, Jackson, thank you for calling from D.C., man. Have a nice night.

You as well. Shout out to everybody tuned in on 1067, The Fan, in Washington, D.C. 888-710-4ISN. Chris is here from Toronto. You're on the JR Sport Reshow, Chris.

What's up? Yes, let me just say, great show. Love to listen, man. Love your opinions.

Okay, this guy. Anthony Townsend thing, um let me just say People gotta ignore stuff on the internet that you don't like. You open up yourself, not that you don't like, but just ignore stuff on the internet. Open yourself up. To these people that can criticize you without any repercussions.

Back in the day, buddy, I don't know how you are, but I was born in 81, so I'm about 44. Back in the day, people said stupid stuff to me, I didn't like it, they had to say it to my face. And they didn't really get that far with something like that. Feel bad for Townsend, obviously, but sometimes when it comes to the internet, you got to ignore that stuff. Good for your sanity, you know?

Well, I think there's that's a lot of advice for younger athletes. I'm certainly also of the generation where I remember. Life without the internet? And I did not mind it because you only know what you know. And it was pretty good to have a life without always being connected.

And it's like everything else. You can. Use technology for good, or you can use it for bad. Obviously, one of the worst things that we utilize technology for in our ability to connect is to go ahead and spread hate. It's absolutely terrible.

I'm not going to say that people are spreading hate as it relates to Carl Anthony Towns, but it is pretty a. Long of a joke at this point in time, people making fun of his mannerisms, his sexuality, and whatnot. But when you do have athletes, most of the professional athletes now, and thank you so much, Chris, for calling from Toronto. A lot of the professional athletes have grown up in the internet era. Like they know nothing.

but cell phones and social media. And so, whereas me, I I can turn off, I can turn on. I mean, I've created the Gerald Sport brief, you know, just coming off the internet. I'm fortunate in the regard to have avoided a whole lot of hate. It's nice to know.

But when you're a professional athlete, It's kind of like understanding this is what you signed up for. Like you signed up for criticism, you signed up for hate. It comes with the money, unfortunately. Like, whether it's somebody hating you or how you act or who you are, whether people are going to hate your guts because you cost them their parlay. You gotta have thick skin.

And I just don't know if we have athletes out nowadays. That can kinda maintain it. Like we just talked about this last night when it came down to Angel Reese. Like you got RG3 who's just popping off at her. And Shaq said, Man, just just pipe down before I punch you in the face I also saw Mark Henry.

former Olympian, WWE world's strongest man, Mark Henry also told R G three, knock it off. I I don't know how many more strong men, big giant humans, you know, R G three needs to hear before he knocks it off. But yeah, we we live in a wild world. Ask Andrew Reese, ask Caitlin Clark, ask LeBron James, ask Aaron Rogers whether you agree or disagree with what they say. Man, they are up for criticism all the time.

You got to have thick skin, otherwise, you don't last. You lose your mind. 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-487. four I S N.

We're going to take a break. Speaking of composing yourself. We had a golfer who just lost his mind. We got a how you play golf. and you've been bad.

I'm going to tell you what happened on the other side of the break. Of course at the end of the show we'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history. The phone lines are open if you still want to call. eight eight eight seven ten four I S N. It's the JR Sport Brief Show, the Infinity Sports Network.

And Carl Anthony Towns can escape uh some of the The jokes about is His mannerisms being feminine and And he's like, Hey, Carl Anthony Towns is here. He said, Hey, girl. And I've had an opportunity here in the break to check out a few of these uh the other jokes. Here for my good, some of these jokes. Bacha, have you seen some of these jokes?

Oh, I have. The ones that we probably shouldn't be repeating. Yes, I have.

Okay, well, here's maybe one. Shane Gillis says this: Joe Rogan actually wanted me to be here to host this award show.

so that I could capture Adam Silver because Joe thinks he's an alien. And Donald Trump wanted me to be here to capture Juan Soto, for the same reason.

Okay. Shane Gillis continues on. When Caitlin Clark retires from the WNBA, She's going to work at a waffle house.

so she can continue doing what she loves most. fist fighting, black women. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Look. Those those are actually funny.

I think all of these jokes are actually funny. I think Carl Anthony Townsend is kind of dragged out at this point in time. But, man, these guys get paid a lot of money. You know, you can't always have rabbit ears. You can't be James Dolan or the New York Knicks to what everybody has to say.

And sometimes you gotta learn how to shut it out, I think, but Human nature can take over. In a lot of cases it's it's easier said than done. eight eight eight seven ten four I SN That's 888-710-4ISN. Because there has to come a point in time where you go to sleep at night and you just go. Damn, do I gotta worry about what millions of people think about me?

I mean, damn it, I sit here. I'm not hosting the Espies. I mean, I make jokes about Bill Belichick. He just caught some more jokes about dating his young 24-year-old girlfriend, but. It's the world we live in.

You gotta have some thick skin, otherwise you just get stepped on. eight eight eight seven ten four I S N Cam is here from Louisville. You're on the JR Sportry Show. What's up, Cam? How you doing, JR?

I'm excellent. How are you? I'm doing good. I'm doing good. I just wanted to call in and uh Kind of get my opinion on everything you're talking about.

Just but as you just said, like five seconds ago, you said it pretty much what exactly what I was going to say was. Uh, they do make so much money, and at the end of the day, I feel like that money kind of makes up for all the sh they uh whoa, can't say can't cam. Come on, Cam. You got to do better than the magic words.

Now, I will say this. When you are a professional athle and it's not even just a professional athlete. When you're in the public eye, There's a reason that you're making the money that you do. It's because people want to watch you, people want to see you, and there's a trade-off for that. There's a trade off of thing.

There's an interest in who you are personally, and And that comes with crap.

Okay, you know, uh for all of Aaron Rodgers and his weirdness and his his personal issues, I don't think he certainly helps himself. Aaron Rodgers goes, Hey, when I'm done in the NFL, I'm just gonna you know, disappear. Yannis Ateracumpo says, When I'm done with the NBA, I want to be like Tim Duncan. I just I want to disappear. And I don't blame a lot of these guys.

They've made hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars. And there is a trade-off. If you don't want the money, And you don't want everything that comes with it if you don't want the scrutiny. They don't do the job. Mm-hmm.

Nobody is forcing anybody to play for the Los Angeles Lakers. Nobody's forcing anybody to show up and be a superstar for the Chicago sky, to be the face of the Yankees, to be on the face of the league, to be one. Nobody's forcing anybody to do any of this. But if you want to deal with everything that comes with it, You want to take the money. You got to deal with it.

That's just the reality of it. Eight eight eight seven ten four I SN. That's eight eight eight seven ten four I S N. You gotta learn how to act. Like I think I think LeBron James goes to sleep at night.

I think probably on a pile full of money with his wife and his family. Like, I think they sleep perfectly fine at night. I mean, what would break LeBron would break the normal person? I think Lebron is probably used to it by now. He's had twenty years of it, twenty plus years of it.

And speaking being able to compose yourself, How the heck are you a golfer? And basically Get banned. Bacha, what do you hear about this with Wyndham Clark? He didn't make the cut at the open, and then he decided to wreck the locker with you about that. And then he got.

It was like posted on social media immediately. And it wasn't even like one of the reports where it's like, we have to find out who did this and bring the justice. They knew basically immediately. Who did it, why they did it. And it's not a surprise.

Cloric actually did this because he's been known as a hothead. Yeah, well Oakmont Country Club last month. They basically said he has been banned from the property. unless he apologizes. Unless he writes a big old check to a a A charity of their choice, unless he goes out there and and enters into anger management.

Like what what are we doing here, man? Like, do do better. Do better? Do battle like what do we listen to this? He was asked about this.

Destroying the locker room at the U.S. Listen to this. There were some posts and some photographs that came out of Oakmont that made their way on through social media. Is there anything you'd like to comment on or make any statements on with regard to some of that stuff in the locker room? Yeah, I mean, you know, I've had a lot of highs and lows in my career, especially this year, some lows.

And, you know, I made a mistake that I deeply regret. And I'm very sorry for what happened. But I'd also like to move on, not only for myself, but for Oakmont, for the USGA, and kind of focus on the rest of this year and things that come up. I still want to try to make the Ryder Cup team. I still am on the outside looking in for the FedEx Cup, and I, you know, so I'm starting to move on and focus on those things.

Man, he won the U.S. Open a couple of years ago. But he's, all things considered, I don't want to call him midling. But he is He's he's a borderline guy. He's in the cut, he's out the he made the cut.

He's he's borderline. And so they have a guy out here. It's just uh uh Oh man. I thought golf was supposed to be a Batcher, golf is not a gentleman sport. Where's the gentleman this year?

Nothing? It's gone ever since Happy Gilmore came out. It switched the culture. It took Happy Yilmore to switch the golf culture? Yes.

It's no longer a buttoned-up sport. It's more of a. Anything goes. Arrest was This is the waste. It's not the waste management invitational, you know.

I mean, what are we doing here? Oh no, this is you're supposed to be Orderly. But some people can't do that. Hey, I w have have you ever been to that? You been to that before?

A golf tournament? the waste management, the one where everybody's partying and drinking. No. N never In my wildest dreams, would I want to go to that? It's probably all you're doing.

Why not? I've been dirty. It's dirty, what? You just said everybody's drinking. Isn't that the one where they all throw the beer in the air?

I don't they must have still throw the beer in ye I wasn't around for no beer throwing. Everybody was walking around with beer. There is a golf event where the entire crowd launches beer in the air, I think, when someone wins. Uh yeah, no, I don't Hey, I don't remember that one. The back nine is is where everybody gets wasted at the uh the waste management open.

I went out there one year. It happens around a Super Bowl. It's not a big deal. It's also I I've also never been to a golf course. In my actual life, so I have no reason to go to one anyway.

Oh, well, that's different. I don't golf. I don't. Want to sit and watch golf because I don't know 95% of the people there. And it's like no phones and it's quiet and it's yeah.

Not for me.

Okay, alright, well then, that answers one thing. Marco Belletti, isn't golf supposed to be a gentleman sport? Supposed to, yes. Yes, it is. How the heck is this guy in there just bashing?

And they say, if you write a check, you can come back. I guess that's how it works.

Well, see, that's the part that he screwed up. Nobody cares if you wind up curse lading and destroying things. As long as you pay for it afterwards and you apologize, they'll let you get away with that nonsense. They shouldn't, but they will. That's life, that's how we work.

He's dumb because he's just not writing the check because he's being stubborn. You busted something up, pay for it. Yeah, I don't know. And I'm pretty sure everybody would have been quiet about it too. That's the other part too.

Like, did you want to get publicly embarrassed? Were you enjoying this? Like, did you want everybody to know that you destroyed the clubhouse? Like, how hard is it to just keep it quiet and you still get to act like a petulant child? Win win, no.

Yeah, it sounds like entitlement to me. That's what it sounds like. Yeah, which is pretty much. Every athlete, it feels like. But I mean, this is dumb.

I mean, he's not the first athlete to destroy a clubhouse, a locker. I mean, they've all done it. He's done, but he's not even at the top of the, he's not, he's not at the top of a sport. You're right, but at the same time, you don't have to be a good player to be pissed off.

So, like, I get it. You shouldn't. You should be able to control it, but we all lose our temper. It happens. This is like the Yankees' fifth reliever going, you know what, I'm mad today.

I'm going to just destroy the Yankees' locker room. They cut him the next day. They probably would. He's not going to get cut, so you don't have to worry about that. But there are how many guys that have been average middle-of-the-road guys that are on the roster that are not.

overly important, but they're good enough that they're gonna stay, that took a bat to a locker room. A million of those guys have done it. You pay for it. What's so difficult? Pay for it.

Golfers are supposed to be nice. Wow. Like Bacha said, they're supposed to be quiet and sophisticated and orderly. I don't know. Yeah, I'm not a big fan of that.

Look, you're playing a professional sport and you. Get annoyed, you get frustrated because you suck at that day or that shot, and especially golf, because that'll humanize every single one of us. Yeah, I can understand letting out some F-bombs, maybe getting annoyed in the clubhouse. I wouldn't do it necessarily, but I get it. All you gotta do is pay for it and apologize.

Like, how long does it take you to cool down? It'd be a better story if it was Rory McElroy. Hopefully, he loses his you-know-what real soon, okay? He's on his way. Yeah, but you know what?

Rory would be smart enough to write that check so we don't know about it. You're telling me he's never been that annoyed? I find that difficult to believe. Yeah, the way he doesn't speak to anybody, I would think he's taken out his frustration somewhere. That's what I'm saying.

The guy didn't even want to talk to anybody if he has a bad round. You're telling me he wouldn't write that check so we don't know what's going on? Yeah, he would. He's smarter. Yeah, he he needs to go out there and talk to Wyndham Clark.

He'd say, hey, listen, you're too poor to be out here breaking stuff. That's what he'd tell him.
