I'll be hanging out with you for the next four hours. This is when the show gets started every weekday at 6 p.m. Eastern, 3 Pacific. I'm in Atlanta, Georgia. Thank you to our producer helping to hold things down in New York City, Chris Percy on it.
And thank you to you again for listening however you might be listening. On the free Odyssey app, your local Infinity Sports Network affiliate, Sirius XM, channel 375. If you got a smart speaker, ask it to play the Infinity Sports Network. What a day. We've been getting news all day long. First of all, we got some more NBA action if you had no idea. Today, tonight is a big night in the NBA. The NBA draft lottery is going to take place in a little more than an hour from now.
We're going to find out what miserable NBA team is going to select Cooper Flag. We got the Celtics and Knicks in action in about 90 minutes from now, right after the draft lottery. We have the Warriors and the Timberwolves. The Timberwolves are trying to take a 3-1 lead. The Celtics are trying to tie up their series with the Knicks at 2-2. We had some good games yesterday.
Well, not really. You had some blowouts. But anyway, we'll talk about what took place between the Thunder and the Nuggets, the Pacers, the Cavs. Donovan Mitchell looks like he'll be a game time decision. Apparently Giannis Atetokounmpo is open to leaving. Milwaukee, we had a manager fire already in Major League Baseball.
It is May. We got a lot to get into. Terry Carr retired. We have some games that have been released for this upcoming NFL season. The official schedule is on Wednesday. We got a couple of games that we have found out about.
How about this? We got Joe Vardon from the athletic. He's going to come through and join us next hour. And by the time he joins us, we're going to know where Cooper Flag is going. So Joe Vardon will be here next hour. We got a lot to get into. You want to be a part of the show?
You can do that. Here's the phone number. 888-710-4ISN.
That's 888-710-4ISN. Find me online everywhere at JR Sport Brief. Of course, at the end of the show, we'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history. We had George Pickens.
He got a new team, but he's still complaining, I guess, kind of, sort of, about the Pittsburgh Steelers. We got a lot, a lot to get into. Chris, how are you on this Monday afternoon, Monday evening? I'm great, JR, but I'm anxious, man.
I appreciate you checking in. It's Knicks Game 4 is coming up, right? We're here in New York City, the Infinity Sports Network, home base, and man, the tension's in the air.
Well, I'm sure. We're going to get into the Knicks in an hour from now. I know a lot of Knicks fans, with good reason, are kind of like, what are we going to go ahead and do today as the Boston Celtics are looking to tie up the series 2-2 after the Knicks lost Game 3 over the weekend, 1-15 to 93. A lot of Knicks fans worried about what's going on. We'll get into that next hour.
It's just so much. Even Trey Hendrickson, we'll talk about him. He sent a message to ESPN letting everybody know, hey, I'm concerned. Well, he didn't say he was concerned. He should be concerned. He hasn't heard anything from the Cincinnati Bengals since the draft. Nothing.
Not a word, not a peep. So we'll get into that. And then amongst all of the news that we got today, this is actually something that I'm not excited about. I'm excited about it if it works out in one particular way. And that's the fact that Michael Jordan will be joining NBC as a special contributor. You know, NBC finally has the rights back to basketball.
We can throw it back to round, excuse me, Round Ball Rock, everybody's favorite song. But the fact is, when you have Michael Jordan on your your roster as an announcer, as a special guest, what we don't have clarity on the hell is that me? NBC was very careful not to call him an analyst. He's very careful not to call him an announcer. He's just he's a special guy.
So what does that mean? He's going to be sitting in the studio once a month. Do we have to wait to see Michael Jordan in the playoffs?
We don't have all of those details. But if there's one thing that I do know about Michael Jordan, and this is where I can be excited a little bit, is the fact that Michael Jordan is cutthroat. I mean, some of the stories that we've heard about Michael Jordan, some of the stories that Michael Jordan is told over the course of his career make you just go, Damn, Mike, you still holding the grudge, like all these years later.
And so I guess Michael Jordan is finally in a space to contribute and give back to the game. In another way, we all know about his time playing with the Chicago Bulls and then finishing up with the Wizards. We know about his time and, and being a part of the Hornets. We know about him ultimately buying the Hornets after he was kind of, I guess he felt screwed up in Washington thought that he'd buy that franchise. And then he recently sold the Hornets and I know he's into motorsports and what the hell else you're gonna do?
Travel around the world and be rich? Yeah, Michael Jordan has to do something involved with the game. And being on NBC is not bad. Now, I don't think anybody's expecting Michael Jordan to wake up and be Charles Barkley. There's only one of him, by the way, apparently him and Charles Barkley don't talk anymore. Apparently, Michael Jordan holds a grudge against Charles Barkley. But outside of that, if you hear some of the stories that people say or tell you about Michael Jordan, you could understand.
And if we get this cutthroat version of Mike on television, I'm gonna appreciate it. This is Gary Payton. He was sitting down with my main man Quinton Richardson and Darius Miles. And GP who lost the 96 finals to Michael Jordan told the story about when he was a rookie. He started talking crap to Michael Jordan in a preseason game. And Michael Jordan was sure to remind him, listen to this. Yeah, I was talking shit to him in preseason. You know, I didn't know that they don't play in preseason.
So I'm killing him. Had about 21. He play about seven, eight minutes. Then all of a sudden, we got to play him in the first game of the regular season. He come to Seattle. First thing he get on the floor, he was like, Pip Armstrong, the young fella must be mine all night. And he bust his ass all night. And he's like, this ain't preseason. Man, he remember that, man. And then all of a sudden, man, I get quick two fouls, man, with four, in four minutes, man, I sit down, man, I'm up at 35, 7, 10.
I'm over there with no point. Two in that gum, huh? Two in that gum, looking at me like after the game, he was like, welcome to the NBA.
Yeah. If we get that type of Michael Jordan and then sign me up. I mean, think about this in an era in time of hot takes, professional athletes on television, professional athletes here on the radio, people just saying crazy things to garner attention. Like, I don't know, does Kendrick Perkins believe everything he says? If he does, then good for him, right?
I don't know. We're in an era now where somebody like Kevin Durant will respond directly to a fan or respond directly to Charles Barkley. Are we going to get the real Michael Jordan? Are we going to get the Michael Jordan who we hear stories like this about?
Are we going to get some sanitized version on NBC? I want the real Michael Jordan because I know he's, I know he feels strongly about some of the guys that we watch today. We've never heard MJ be openly critical of the modern product. What does he really think about Anthony Edwards? What does he think about some of these shots that the players take? What is, what does Michael Jordan think about load management?
What does he think about the injuries? Could you imagine some of the quotes and thoughts that we'd get from Michael Jordan? We need the real Michael Jordan on NBC.
We don't need the cleaned up version. I remember Michael Jordan during his hall of fame speech. He basically, you could tell he's still held a grudge. I mean, you've probably heard the story when Michael Jordan was back in high school about how he initially got cut from the basketball team.
What a crazy thing, right? Michael Jordan cut from his basketball team and Michael Jordan stood there during this hall of fame speech and the guy who got the job in front of made the team in front of him was sitting in the audience and Michael Jordan was, was still ticked off at the coach. Listen to this. And then there's Leroy Smith.
Now you got to think that's a myth. Leroy Smith was a guy when I got cut, he made the team on the varsity team and he's here tonight. He's still the same six, seven guy. He's not any bigger. He plays probably his game is about the same, but he started the whole process with me because when he made the team and I didn't, I wanted to prove not just to Leroy Smith, not just to myself, but to the coach who actually picked Leroy over me.
I wanted to make sure you understood you made a mistake, dude. Yeah, that's, that's the Michael Jordan we need on NBC. We need the Michael Jordan that holds a grudge, not the Michael Jordan ready to hold hands. And he's been very careful throughout the course of his career because this man is about his money, not to offend anybody or step on toes. The most we got out of Michael Jordan was the last dance. He was open.
He was honest. I mean, he directed, he ticked off Scottie Pippen. Scottie Pippen wasn't happy with his portrayal in the film and the documentary.
Not at all. We need that Michael Jordan. So amongst all the things, all the news that came down the pipe today, learning that Michael Jordan would join NBC to talk basketball. That's exciting.
If Michael Jordan decides to talk trash and not clean things up, I guess we got to wait and see. There's something else that popped off earlier in the day. A little bit of a surprise. Not really. Giannis Atenecumpo opened to leaving the Milwaukee Bucks.
What a shame, right? You think about how old that roster is. Brook Lopez, old. Bobby Portis has the option to leave the team as a free agent. We saw unfortunately what happened to Damian Lillard. Had that blood clot in his leg, came back, wasn't at full strength.
How the hell could he be? It's been a lot that's gone wrong. Middleton, before he got the boot. He got the boot because he couldn't stay healthy. Milwaukee Bucks are going absolutely nowhere. We saw them just get eliminated by the Indiana Pacers.
It's the last scene that we have of Giannis Atenecumpo with Tyrese Halliburton's dad waving a flag in his face, basically telling him to get the hell up on out of here. It might be because after that elimination, Giannis was asked a very important question about his future. Do you think you can win another title in Milwaukee?
Let's just say Giannis was not inclined to answer the question, but he did, kind of. Do you think that you can still win that second championship here in Milwaukee after a third straight first round exit? Look, I'm not going to do this. I'm not going to do this.
I know how this is going to, whatever I say, I know how it's going to translate. I'm not, I don't know, man. I wish I was still playing.
I wish I was still competing and going back to Milwaukee. I don't know. I don't know.
I don't know. I wish I was still playing and going any way I answer. Giannis has said over the years, I want to stay in Milwaukee, but I also want to win championships. As long as I can win championships, I want to stay in Milwaukee. Well, damn it, it doesn't look like the Milwaukee Bucks are going to win a championship anytime soon.
Not saddled with the roster that they have, with some of the free agents that they have on the team, the age of some of the guys. Giannis Atetokounmpo is 30 years old. Even in an elimination at the hands of the Indiana Pacers, Giannis was going out there and he was giving the Pacers the business. We're talking about 30 plus points and rebounds in the teams and 6-7 assists here. Giannis Atetokounmpo was losing his mind.
If I'm Giannis Atetokounmpo, I'm losing my mind on another team next season. I don't know. Like Houston?
I don't know. Like Miami? There's a lot of teams that, or obviously, I think every team is going to have interest and Giannis Atetokounmpo, not every team has the ability to make a trade. Do they have the picks? Do they have the active players? Do they have enough assets? We're going to find out soon enough. But he doesn't take a rocket scientist.
You don't have to work for Elon Musk. You don't have to be trying to send somebody to Mars to figure out that Giannis' best chances and opportunities to win another championship, more championships while he is still in his prime is not in Milwaukee. Them days are over. Chris Middleton's body said it was over.
Damian Lillard's body, by the way, Damian never wanted to go to Milwaukee. His body says it's over. And when it comes to Giannis, hey, it's over, bro. It should be over.
Move on and go elsewhere. It makes the most sense. We'll talk about some destinations for Giannis later on in the show. We'll also ask Joe Vardon, who'll be here with us in a little more than an hour, who covers all things NBA nationally for the athletic. I'll get his thoughts.
What is the best destination for Giannis Atetokounmpo? We'll get into that. Of course, we're awaiting the results of the NBA draft lottery.
It gets underway in about 45 minutes. And then we're going to find out what sad sack NBA team is going to go ahead and be able to draft Cooper Flag in hopes that Cooper Flag will turn their miserable organization around. We have so much to get into. We told you about Derek Carr.
We found out he will be retiring due to the condition in his shoulder. We got more basketball tonight between the Knicks and the Celtics. We got the Wolves.
We have the Warriors with no Steph Curry. We have a lot to get into. If you want to be a part of the show, you can. Here's the phone number. Listen very carefully because we paid our bill and it works. The phone number is 888-710-4ISN.
That's 888-710-4ISN. Michael Jordan, I can't even say back, but he's back in the public eye talking basketball on NBC. Giannis may not be back in Milwaukee. We're going to take a break and when we come back, we're going to talk about another team in another league. They got a star player.
He doesn't know if his team wants him back and he's one of the best players in the entire NFL. What dumb ass NFL team could be making this decision? No, it's not the Dallas Cowboys.
Sorry. I'm going to tell you about the Bengals and Trey Hendrickson on the other side of the break. We're just getting started. We're just getting warmed up. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief Show Coast to Coast on the Infinity Sports Network. It is the JR Sport Brief Show here with you Coast to Coast on the Infinity Sports Network.
Hey, we're just getting started. We talked about Michael Jordan making his way to the NBA on NBC. We talked about Giannis Atetokounmpo.
Apparently, it's being reported that he is open to leaving Milwaukee. That's on the basketball side. We got more basketball to get into. We got the NBA draft lottery. That's going to take place in about an hour from now. We got Joe Vardin joining us from the Athletic. But we've had some football news as well come down the pipe today.
How about this? We got a star. He's one of the best defenders in the league. Mr. Go get the quarterback. His name is Trey Hendrickson. Trey Hendrickson for the Cincinnati Bengals has been one of the best defenders. He's been one of the best linemen in the entire NFL over the past several years. I mean, damn it back when he played for the Saints. But since he's been to the Bengals his last year with the Saints and then going to the Bengals, he has just turned it up another notch. The past two seasons, each, this man has registered 17 and a half sacks each season. That means, man, if somebody did that their entire career, damn it, if he does this a bunch more years, I get it.
He's 30 years old right now. Trey Hendrickson will be in conversation for Hall of Fame. That's how big and great these numbers are. But the Cincinnati Bengals, well, we know they just went to town. They went on a spending spree when it comes down to their wide receivers. We knew Jamar Chase was going to get paid four years, one hundred and sixty one million dollars. OK, this guy's making more than 40 million dollars per year as a wide receiver. We got T Higgins. It was a shock that they decided to go out there and pay another wide receiver. Typically you go out there and draft one. But hell, you want to keep Joe Burrow happy, don't you?
Because you're already paying that guy fifty five million dollars. And so we know and unfortunately Joe Mixon is gone, but we know the Bengals emphasis has been on offense so much so that this is a team that you go, well, where's the defense? The defense is what kept them out of the postseason. The defense is one of the reasons that people didn't realize that Joe Burrow had an amazing year but didn't make the postseason.
The defense sucks in Cincinnati. And so here you have Trey Hendrickson who's one of the best linemen, one of the best rushers, guys who go get the quarterback in the entire NFL. Trey Hendrickson is looking for his money. He's entering into the final year of his contract, which has been a four year, sixty million dollar deal.
Do the math. That's fifteen per fifteen mil per. And you have some of the premier pass rushers in the game right now getting paid Max Crosby numbers closer to thirty five.
You have a Miles Garrett who's sitting in that forty range. And so when your contemporaries, when the people that are in the space that you're in are getting paid forty and thirty five and you're in that category and you're only making fifteen, you would expect, yes, with a year left on a contract that ultimately you would get paid. Well, today Trey Hendrickson came out with a statement and he has said that no communication has taken place between my camp and the organization post draft.
Wow. The offers prior to the draft did not reflect the vision we shared and were promised last off season. If I continue to play at a high level, coaches are aware of these past conversations rather than using collaboration to get us to a point to bring me home to the team. They are no longer communicating.
I've been eagerly awaiting a resolution of this situation, but that is hard to do when there is no discussion and an evident lack of interest in reaching mutual goals. Damn. He's saying this today. It was back in early April.
It was last month. He was sitting down on Pat McAfee show, Trey Hendrickson was, and he was asked about his contractual situation, especially given the fact that Jamar Chase, we know he was going to get paid, that T Higgins, he went out there and got paid. And Trey Hendrickson basically said, I understand if their priority, I got no problem with waiting in line, but he said the communication a month ago was already bad and now he's saying it's worse.
This is what he told Pat McAfee. And, uh, through this process, you know, communication, um, when I say it's been poor, it's been like here and there, uh, you know, and, and respect to, uh, Jamar and T I don't want to take anything away from all the great things they've accomplished in their careers. Um, they deserve everything that they've gotten.
Uh, and no doubt in my mind, they're going to excel in the national football league. I have a tremendous respect, um, for both of them. But, um, when it comes to my situation, um, it would have been nice to know, you know, in some ways like, Hey, we're going to put you in the queue. No problem with me. Um, my wife and I try to be as humble as possible, um, as a Christ loving people.
So we don't, we don't have any desires of being highest paid or first in line. Oh my goodness. Is anybody, this is the Cincinnati bangles. Is anybody shocked? You can't be, huh? You know, this is not like a Tiffany franchise.
It's not a Tiffany organization. The bangles have been accused of being cheap skates forever for ever. I mean, just, just last month, one of the bangles executives and Katie Blackburn, and she talked about the, the contracts, uh, negotiations with him and she basically said what he's asking for.
He needs to be happy at certain rates and damn, why the hell would you say such a thing publicly? Oh yeah. By the way, this is one of the best players in the entire league. Why are you crapping on them?
But I'll say it again. This is a Cincinnati bangles egg on crap on everybody, including the players that they pay. I mean, we've heard for years stories about the food players having to pay for their own lunch while they're at work. And sure you pay for lunch at work. I pay for lunch. I got paid for dinner. You pay for, you pay for your food. It's their job to work and physically work out.
It is common practice. Hey, if I'm investing all this money into you, I want, I want to also invest in your nutrition and your health. I'm taking care of your body. I might as well give you something good to eat. The Cincinnati bangles are charging these guys to eat. You want more than one meal? Here's a free one, but you pay for the rest.
Damn. TJ who's menzada. This man has told stories about how cheap they are. We're talking about recycling jockstraps, buying Gatorade, buying water, limited spending.
What are we doing here? This is a professional sports organization or is this the Bush leagues? You'd be surprised at how many NFL players go from top programs. Like I don't know, Ohio state had the pleasure of seeing their facilities at places top notch.
I've walked up. I've seen NFL facilities. I've seen college programs. Some of these college programs have better facilities in the pros. You wouldn't expect it. Like Ohio state got better facilities in some NFL teams. I'm not going to name nobody.
I haven't been to the bangles facility, but I bet it's better than them. This is sad. And so for Trey Hendrickson, I think the writing is on the wall. They're going to make this man play out the last year of his deal. Or if they were smart, they probably want to trade him. They probably want to move on.
Let's keep in mind because this is the bangles. They decided to draft Shamar Stewart out of Texas A&M. Yes, Shamar Stewart is the, he's like Superman, but he's like Superman who cannot catch the bad guy. He gets close.
He bust through eight walls and knocks out windows and he's flying through stuff. He's just going everywhere. But when he gets close to the quarterback, getting a quarterback as a job, he can't bring them down. It's been projected that Shamar Stewart is a project in the NFL and Cincinnati bangles had no issue with selecting him at number 17th overall because he's cheap and he has high upside.
If he can actually learn how to go out there and follow me, get to the quarterback. You know, I think Trey Hendrickson will be moved. I think he will because I think at this point, unless he's gotten some deal, what are the bangles waiting on?
Like why wouldn't they get something done at this point in time? What are they waiting to sign all the rookies to deals? He's likely going to get moved. The bangles are probably going to pray to God that Shamar Stewart can turn into something worth a damn and they'll move on because they don't want to pay anybody. The bangles are rolling the dice here that Joe Burrow's right arm will keep them in games that Shamar Stewart can hopefully go out there and progress as a defender. And then that Joe Burrow can win them a Super Bowl. Unfortunately for Joe Burrow, it's looking like his career and it may or may not be has has a kind of feel to it right now. Are we looking at another Dan Marino situation? Are we looking at one of the best quarterbacks in the game? Ultimately being screwed over by an organization who couldn't put weapons around him. I'm sorry, Marino had the marks. But this man climbed the mountaintop, never captured the flag and he was never seen in the championship game again. I mean, if you are, if you're Joe Burrow, you hopefully end up like Elway.
At least you get a couple on the back end. Not looking good for the Cincinnati bangles is Trey Hendrickson. He's like, man, this team is not even talking to me. Tell me how much you value me without saying a word.
And the bangles are telling him right now, unfortunately. It's the JR Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. I need you to think O'Reilly Auto Parts for all of your car care needs.
Get guaranteed low prices and excellent customer service from the professional parts people at O'Reilly Auto Parts. Trey Hendrickson, he used to play for the Saints. There's a quarterback over the weekend who now also used to play for the Saints. His name is Derek Carr and he retired. Derek Carr is gone.
Okay. And he's been talking about this for a while now. And the Saints, where are they? Well, I'll tell you on the other side, I think you know where they're going and where they've been.
I don't think it's going to be better. And we'll talk about Derek Carr's situation, anxiously awaiting what's going to happen and take place with this NBA draft lottery in about 30, 40 minutes from now. We got a lot to get into, but right now on the Infinity Sports Network, it is time for a newsflash. Here he is, Rich Ackerman.
It is the JR Sport Brief Show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. We got one, well, I'm sure we got plenty unhappy NFL players. How many people are really happy at work? I mean, shoot, if you got to hit people, make a couple of mill, I would think you'd be overall happy, right?
You don't have to enjoy your circumstances. Well, anyway, and Trey Hendrickson, not happy with the Cincinnati Bengals. So there's no communication.
They don't talk to him. He's on one year left on his deal. And he's just waiting on the next thing. Well, Trey Hendrickson, he started his career with the New Orleans Saints. Trey Hendrickson coming out, selected as the third pick in 2017. And we could turn down a trick, daddy. I know he's a thug.
We can turn them off. Trey Hendrickson selected third overall in 2017 from Florida Atlantic, was with the New Orleans Saints from 2017 to 2020. And then he got paid a four year contract, $60 million from the New Orleans Saints. Well, the Saints are in a little bit different of a situation right now because Derek Carr is gone.
Yeah, Derek Carr. After playing, I don't even want to say two seasons here. I mean, last season he was hurt.
Ten games. He had two years remaining on his deal. We found out he has a shoulder issue. At first it was, hey, he might miss the entire season because he needs surgery. And ultimately over the weekend, we found out that Derek Carr, he's done.
He's retiring. And this is good news, I guess, from a financial standpoint for the New Orleans Saints because they are going to save themselves. Well, he left $30 million on the table by walking away. Not too bad when you've made more than $200 million in your career as a starting quarterback. And so the four time Pro Bowler can walk off into the sunset. He said he took some time to pray and think about this with his family and now he's done. He had a better career than his brother did, his brother with Houston.
This guy got beat to shreds. And apparently Derek Carr had to pray about leaving and retiring due to his chronic shoulder issue. It seems like the fans down in Louisiana, down in New Orleans, WDSU spoke to some fans on the street about Derek Carr leaving.
And let's just say they were happy like this guy. Yes, Lord, I had to get off the line because everybody's phone went off at the same time. I thought it was like a weather advisory or something, but no, it was a message from God. And the message was loud and clear. After two seasons with the Saints, quarterback Derek Carr is retiring.
Happy, happy for him, taking care of himself, his family. I feel bad for the Saints. They deserve better. I mean, as it stands right now, they drafted Tyler Shuck out of Louisville. They have Jake Hayner and Spencer Rattler. Like those are their three quarterbacks. There is no way in hell they can go into the season with those three. They can't do it.
Okay. We know Shuck just got to the damn league. He hasn't thrown a pass yet in the NFL.
Spencer Rattler and Hayner, they got a career record of 0-7. It's very clear at this point in time. The Saints are trying to stink this year.
Oh, I mean, that's been clear. And the Saints have been in salary cab hell for, I feel like forever. And so now they've actually reached a point where they can legitimately stink so bad that they can do one thing, go out and draft Arch Manning.
We have no idea yet. We can only assume based on his family name, what he's going to do down in Texas. With Quinn Ewers gone, now in the NFL, playing for the Dolphins or backing up to or for the Dolphins.
We got a full line for Arch Manning to light it up at Texas. Maybe when a Heisman show everybody how good he is. And then end up in New Orleans with the Saints, just like his grandpa, Archie.
What a story that is. You don't think everybody Loomis and the Bensons, everybody with the Saints, you don't think they understand this? They're not that dumb.
I mean, well, from the Benson side of things, they were dumb enough to still keep Zion around, but Zion might be going sooner than later. But the idea of bringing a native son, putting a Manning in a Saints jersey is not lost on anybody. If you're a Saints fan, it's very simple.
It's very unfortunate as well. Get ready for the pain. This year is a wash. And then people can start talking about, hey, what veteran quarterback they're going to bring in. Somebody told me, oh, well, you know, they can get Kirk Cousins. Man, the Falcons and the Saints hate each other. Now, I don't know if the Falcons fans are sick of Kirk Cousins enough where they would not care if he went to the Saints.
But now you got to play the guy twice. While the things have happened, I don't know if the Saints want to give up assets to get Kirk Cousins for what? If I'm the Saints, I'm throwing the whole season. I'm sorry. I'm losing to everybody in my division on purpose. I'm losing to the Panthers. I'm losing to the Falcons. I'm letting Baker Mayfield cut me up. I'm losing to everybody.
I'm trying to get my hands on Arch. Hey, all the best to Derek Carr in his retirement. I don't know what he's going to do. Maybe Derek Carr will go into ministry. I don't know. You got enough money, right?
He's 34 years old. You got to find something to do. And good luck to the Saints.
Good luck with getting Arch. Hey, Chris, you think they're just going to suck the entire year. They're going to do it on purpose, right? Yeah, J.R., I think they're going to be shameless and proud about it.
Honestly, there's one way to do it. I'm trying to think what other NFL teams that are currently active right now are already in full tank mode for 2025? Buffalo?
No. Miami? If I say the Cleveland Browns?
Not not yet. You think about Cleveland? They may have a quarterback on the team.
I don't know if it's your door. They're certainly going to cut him or bounce him whenever they get the first chance. Dylan Gabriel, we have no idea how he's going to work out. I mean, the guy was drafted in front of of Chador. Joe Flacco will be back to, I don't know, sitting on a couch with his kids next year.
And Kenny Pickett, we know he's not going to be there. So the Browns are just throwing things up against the wall and seeing if it if it sticks to just completely wipe out this year. Hmm. Cincinnati? No. Pittsburgh? No. Baltimore? No. Houston?
No. Indiana Colts are just well, they got two quarterbacks now trying to figure that out. That certainly doesn't bode well. Anthony Richardson, they got to see what he can do alongside Daniel Jones.
Tennessee Titans just drafted their future star, hopefully in Cam Ward. Oh. Las Vegas as Gino. Yeah, this is Philadelphia. Certainly not. Washington? No. Dallas? No. New York Giants? No.
Yeah. Let's put it this way. Now that I'm actually looking at every single team and evaluating their situation, the only team that might be in a position to just say, you know what, let's just go ahead and blow it up. And it may happen sooner than later. It's Carolina. Like what are the Panthers going to look like? This is Bryce Young's final chance and his final opportunity. And if they start to stink this year, Dave Kanellis is going to understand people will start looking at me, too. And so I wouldn't be surprised if they went ahead and pulled the plug very quickly on Bryce Young, if he's not having a solid start to the season. And so I know you said the Browns, but I'm looking at the Carolina Panthers as maybe the other team that may just say, you know what? We stink.
Let's just blow the whole thing up. But the Saints, they got a clear pathway to Mr. Manning because the Panthers and Bryce, they're going to give him a shot and opportunity. If he stinks after that, they're going to pull it. Why you want to throw Chidor in there already?
Now it's for you, Chris. Oh, see, I was going to say, like, I, I think based on, listen, man, based on how they were playing in Chidor's face right after they drafted him saying, oh, well, we kind of had to draft him at that point. Maybe they wouldn't mind him being the face of the losing season and then they can just part ways. Yeah, he'll get his shot. I don't want to say midway through the season.
They got to go through the line of succession before Chidor goes out there and throws. I mean, I'd be surprised if we see him any earlier than than week three or the first month of the season. I expect to see him in the middle. You know, Kenny Pickett or Joe Flacco may start. Flacco will probably get the start.
Unfortunately this is how it goes. At some point in time, somebody's going to get hurt and go down and Chidor will be allowed to kind of climb up the pecking chart. And then once things completely go to crap, Chidor will get his chance and opportunity. I think he'll get, he'll get about one to three starts minimum. And if he's rolling, I think they'll keep him out there and they'll be very happy to say, oh, this is our, this is our future QB. Maybe we need to give him another opportunity at minimum.
Let's go ahead and keep him into next year. With the Saints, their quarterback room, outside, they got to ask somebody. If they're going to do this, then, then the fans shouldn't even show up. Going down to the Superdome is one of the best places to watch a sporting event.
I'd say in North America, period. I don't care what league, what sport. The Superdome, when the Saints are good, just average places jumping. It's like a whole party in that place. Who's getting excited for Tyler Shuck and Spencer Rattler and Jake Hayter?
Nobody. Start printing up your, your arch Manning jerseys. Just get ahead. Get ahead of the trend.
