This is the Truth Network. Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is set for one floor. Introduce purse. Lithuania, he weighs 120. The Russian Nightmare.
Nakita! Welcome to another episode, QA with Cole Off, The Devil's Nightmare. Welcome back, QA with Cole off Questions and Answers, where you get the opportunity to ask the Russian nightmare a question or two. It can be wrestling-related. It can be ministry, it can be life-related, whatever you would want to ask.
And I never know what's coming. That's the fun part for me. Go to colof.net and just submit a request. And with me, though, in studio today, not over the phone, but actually live and living color right here, Jamie Murphy. Jamie, welcome to QA with Coloff.
Thank you. It is an honor to be here.
Well, it's great to have you here, Jamie. And, you know, it's not always I get somebody in studio for QA, but so this is an extra special treat for me. But that said, you and I, I think we have figured out, met back in about 2009-ish.
Somewhere around there.
Somewhere in that neighborhood. And when you were involved in. Really, I guess, hosting men's dinners, or and you had invited me in as a guest speaker and Fast forward here in the last couple of years. I've done several more of those with you. And you always do a great job.
Like, you have great turnout for those. And what do you attribute to. turnout the is it the food? I mean, I I know you make ribs and chicken and got some incredible food, but besides the food, what do you attribute the great turnout to your your men's events?
Well that's what we we tell folks is Sometimes you're not going to know who our guest speaker is because they're just people that I've heard their story, and I think, man, you would be good speaking at our events.
So I tell the guys, you're just going to have to trust me. I'm going to do my best to bring in somebody good. I can guarantee you the food's going to be good. Right.
Okay. And it is. But when somebody like you, that's a celebrity. Um you you're gonna draw more people than One of the Unnamed, no, I don't want to say no names, but just they don't have the they're not as familiar with well-known or maybe don't even know at all. Yeah, but yeah.
So we had you in North Augusta, I think we had over 300 guys, and that was 09, 010, 09 or 10, somewhere around there. Then I brought you to my camp. And There were over 300. We packed, it was packed at the camp. 300 guys there that night.
You've done, yeah, you've done great. And the one that we just had recently, we're going to say somewhere close to 200.
So, yeah, you've done well. And the ribs and chicken is that's a new thing. Like, you just recently purchased a restaurant and started.
Well, it's kind of funny. We've been doing ribs and chicken for a while.
Okay. In 2020, right around when COVID was kicking off. I had a um I I I have a certain A ministry that has supported us, and they told us they would give us some money to buy a big smoker. And a a One of my personal friends, good close friend. I said, hey, they're telling me they're going to buy us this smoker, but what if they don't cover everything?
He says, I'll make up the difference. You just go ahead and go get it.
So $11,000 smoker. Wow. And we can cook 80 Boston butts on that thing at a time. Wow. 80 slabs of baby back ribs.
And then about a year or two later, this gentleman's a pastor as well as a roofer. And he bought this truck. And so when I pulled it with my regular Chevrolet pickup truck, I'm squatted as I'm heading down the road because that's a big grill, massive grill. And he bought this dually F350 with utility cabinets. on it And he said, He told his twin brother and business partner: he goes, I bought this truck and I really don't need it.
And his brother said, Well, you know what you got to do. He says, I'm not doing it. And he said, You know what you got to do. He said, You know what the Lord's telling you to do. He said, I'm not doing it.
I done bought him a grill. I'm not giving him a truck. And a couple of days later, He calls me up and he says, There's a truck at such and such address. The keys are over the sun visor. It's yours.
So now I have a big truck that doesn't squat. And we can pull that smoker down the road like it's nothing. And so we use that smoke. That smoker was given to us to do ministry with. That's crazy.
We help mission teams go in on mission trips, raise money. We use it for the men's ministry, and we use it. We bought a restaurant, so we use it for our restaurant too.
So in your men's ministry, Men by Design, and I know they can find out more about that on Facebook and even maybe see where I might be a guest speaker sometimes in the future on Men by Design. And the restaurant located in Chesney, right, South Carolina? What's the name of the restaurant? The Southern Fusion Barbecue Barn.
Southern Fusion Barbecue Barn.
So if you like barbecue, especially, I can vouch for the ribs and the chicken because I've had them several times. And the brisket. And briskets. You have your brisket. I am a fan.
That's my number one favorite, is the brisket. And so be sure if you're passing. As a matter of fact, we served brisket the night that you spoke down in Gaffney last year.
Okay, yeah, yeah. And we had more people show up than signed up. I think you ran out of it.
Well, we were praying loaves and fishes, brother.
Okay. So if anybody left hungry that night, it was their fault. I mean, well, it's their fault that they didn't sign up, okay? Right, right. Which is always a blessing, you know, that more show up than sign up in one sense, but at the same time, you're scrambling to make sure everybody gets something to eat, right?
And no, so it's been a huge blessing just to be with you, be your guest speaker. And, of course, so if you're passing down I-85, I guess, and six miles north of the 83 exit on I-85. Go to Chesney, go to the barbecue place. And I want to cover one other thing before we. Get to your questions that you have for me.
You also have a real focus on troubled adolescents, and you do these Christian boot camps. Take a minute, tell us, tell our listeners about the boot camp.
So, if a parent's struggling with a defiant, disrespectful, disobedient kid, they may be hanging with the wrong crowd, not doing good in school, bad attitude. Using drugs. We teach our parents that there has to be negative consequences for unwanted behaviors. And Too often, especially in the south where I'm from, bless God, you spank them.
Well, don't always work. The passages in the scripture for spanking a child come from the book of Proverbs, and it was written to a Hebrew audience. And in their culture, you're an adult at 12 years old. Yeah.
Well, in my culture, in the southern United States, I think I got a whipping when I was 16 or 17.
Okay. My daddy was going to prove to me who the boss was. With a twitch? With a switch? A belt is what my dad liked to use.
Gotcha.
Okay. And so we tell parents it's time to start treating these kids as young adults. Yeah.
Let their consequences relate to what they're doing. Bring them to our camp. And at our camp, they're going to spend a weekend eating prison food. They don't like our food. We don't want them to like our food.
No ribs and chicken there. The parents eat ribs and chicken.
Okay? The kids sleep on a concrete floor in a sleeping bag. They don't take a shower. They don't even get to brush your teeth. And they work all day on Saturday, manual labor.
And they get a dose of this is what this is what the real world real world is going to be like one day if I'm going to keep trying to do things my own way.
So We give them a weekend. It's a weekend wake-up call. of where um their bad attitude could lead them. And we've got some guys that'll come out and share their stories with them about where their bad attitudes led them. And we share the gospel with these kids.
We're actually looking for heart change because if we get a heart change, then we'll get a new kid. And if for those listening out there wondering if there's any success to what you just described, I know before we came on air, you were sharing with me that one of those attendees now works at your restaurant. Yeah, he reached out to me a couple weeks ago wanting a job. Yeah.
And he's a high school kid. He came to our camp. Three years ago, and now he works for me. And you would think, and what I tell people is, you'd think these kids would hate my guts. And he even told us at the restaurant last week: he says, Man, I hated that camp.
I didn't want to go to that camp. Of course not. And sleep on the concrete. But. They respect me and our leaders.
And It's just been a It's been a blessing to see that if you do things God's way, there tend to be blessings after that. Yeah, well, on that note, I say, you know, obedience, blessings follow obedience, consequences follow disobedience, or at least should, as you're referring to.
Now, I know at the boot camp, you've had him as young as eight years old, and you'll take him up to 17. Parents are required to be there that weekend to be a part of that and engage in that so that they can really see firsthand what's happening and then know what to do once upon returning back home because you are working with the parents simultaneously while you're working with the child, right? Or the teen. Yes. Yeah.
So that's amazing. And. And the website to find out more about the boot camp for the ProactiveParents.org. Proactiveparents.org. Of course, you can find out more on Men by Design on Facebook.
Go look for Men by Design. Jamie Murphy, Men by Design, and then, of course, the Barbecue Chesney, South Carolina. Yeah, South Carolina? Yes, sir. where you can get some of the wonderful barbecue.
I assure you, it won't be a one-time stop. You'll go back there more than once.com. Nikita Koloff here, and I am excited. Did you hear the huge announcement, the big announcement?

So, QA with Koloff, let's give you, Jamie, the opportunity to ask me a couple questions and just let's have some fun. All right.
So, Born and raised in the great state of Florida.
Okay. You know who the king wrestler is in the state of Florida. Always has been, always will be. Would it be the American Dream? The American Dream doesn't have to be.
Too sweet to be thawa, if you will. I figure that's probably who you were talking about. Yes. So I'm sitting in your parking lot, getting ready to come in. I'm just scrolling through Facebook, and this picture shows up of you in a neck brace.
Ah. And Dusty's hugging somebody. Yes. And the caption read. There couldn't have been a better choice.
To replace Magnum TA than you. That was the greatest. Face turn in the history of wrestling. By many people's accounts. Maybe not 100%, but yes, by many people.
But it said that some of the babyface wrestlers, there was some jealousy there.
Well, yeah, just a tad.
So I was just wondering, how did your Your co-workers treat you after that. Yeah, so, and I'll give you even a little bit more backstory. But And I'll address that specific question. When you mention jealousy or envy, those sorts of things, um. That came pretty much right out of the gate because of the way I broke into wrestling with no professional training, no amateur background.
I won't go into all that. If people want that full story, they just got to go to the book. That's right. Buy the book, and you can now get it on Audible. Go to Amazon, get it on Audible.
Did it my own voice, actually, right here in the studio we are sitting in. Nikita, A Tale of the Ring of Redemption, for the full story. But that said, so there was even a bit of jealousy in those early days getting catapulted or having a meteoric rise of success. Fast forward to the turn. And one of the best kept secrets in pro wrestling, really, and I don't think one that could never be repeated now with the internet and everything and social media would no way be able to keep it as under wraps as we did.
But that said... Even the way we did it, you know, that night, Crockett said, Jim Crockett, the promoter, said, you know, wait till about an hour after the show starts. I don't want to see a soul see you walk in. Make sure you got a towel over your head. You're not even booked on the card.
So I don't want anybody to know you're here. And so I did that, and then when I walked into the babyface dressing room, you know, and all heads turned. You know, they're looking at me. And I think up to that moment, everyone's kind of figuring I'm the guy. They just haven't told me yet.
And so when I walk in and they're like, you know, immediately I could almost feel you could cut the air, the old expression with a knife. Man, the atmosphere quickly shifted, especially when Jim Crockett walked in. He used to call me Nikki, right? He walked in, Nikki, you're here. Oh, great, you know, and it was almost like the light bulb came on and everyone had an aha moment.
And of course, you know, Dusty came over to embrace me. He called me Nikki as well. And yeah, it was a bit of a moment to navigate that night and then moving forward into the future. Because the other caveat to that is, I'm partnered up with. The booker, who is the guy you want to get the closest to.
Yeah, you want to encourage. Yeah, you want to get close to the booker. And so, yeah, it was tough for a tough, tough sledding, you might say, one expression early on. But eventually, guys kind of get used to it and cut me some slack. All right.
Yeah.
Next question. Teenager in the eighties. We hated you guys. All right.
We bought into you and Uncle Ivan. We bought into all of that. Yep. Every Saturday night, we get all worked up. And then the night that Ricky and Robert beat y'all.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Just in a in a being realistic. You and Ivan were jacked, okay? And here's Ricky and Robert, who ain't got no muscle.
Okay. Not much. And the reality, that's like anybody being able to beat the Road Warriors.
Okay. It just ain't happening. Right.
You know, how. How do they sell that? You know, because on, and I love the Rock and Roll Express, okay? Yeah.
But they're not going to beat y'all in a real fight. They're not going to beat the Road Warriors.
Okay. It just ain't happening. And if Ricky and Robert's listening to this, I love you guys.
Okay. Jamie's a big rock and roll fan, just for the record. But well, so you might say one of the greatest underdog stories in pro wrestling, in a sense, right? Yes. To your point, because anyone who's ever met Ricky and Robert, and I was actually just with him a few weeks ago at an event called the Gathering.
Every summer in Charlotte, they have this big autograph signing. Marty Diamato is the promoter of that. He comes down from New York, and it's an incredible event, incredible four-day event.
So I got to spend a lot of time with Ricky and Robert. In fact, my old partner, Krusher Khrushchev, as you probably remember, he was in, and we had the ham. And sickle shirts on and the headband, and we had chains and rusting flags for all the fans to be able to, you know, have some props or whatever. And then people had a chance to take a picture with Crusher and Nikita and Ricky and Robert. And so we had quite a few people who did that.
So, but I'll say all that to say to hang out with them. I mean, The whole idea of that story line was to show that even the greatest underdog, you might say, have a prayer or a chance. And so we did kind of again. Shock the wrestling world when they won those belts because nobody, it sounds like including yourself, in a million years would have ever anticipated. No, no, when we were watching our TV, we were like, Yeah, you know, yeah, yeah, there's no way these little guys are going to beat the Russians, but man, they outsmarted us, they were just quicker, quicker, they were finesse.
That's right, they were quicker. We had all the muscle and brawn, and they were quick and had all the finesse and were able to outmaneuver us and snatch the belts from us.
So, but and then. Part of that was too, was that that night, them winning the belts really catapulted their career so much further than maybe it would have went as well. Or, you know, beating somebody else, the Midnight Express or somebody else for the belts, right? And so, and that's what we want to do. We were all a team back then, and we were all about benefiting one another.
And, you know, as the ship rises, the tide goes up, everyone wins, right?
So it's win-win-win for everybody.
So we were more than happy to and willing to drop the straps. That's because it's fake, right?
Well, no, nothing fake about it. But it is, but it is pre-made. And you threatened me with the chair the other night, remember? That's right. Yes.
Yes. You ran. I didn't get a chance to hit you with the chair. Because I joked, somebody came to me later and goes. You know, it's not fake.
It might be predetermined, but you guys really get hurt. I go, we do really get hurt. And that is true. I was just having some fun. But anyway.
Yeah.
Because if I've heard that question once, hey, is pro-Russian all fake? I mean, I wish I had a nickel every time I heard that. I'd, you know, I'd be retired on an island living in Tahiti or something right now. But anyway, no, great questions. We got time for one more if you've got one.
Okay, well. And if not, that's okay. Recently Hulk Hogan passed away. Yeah.
Yeah.
And I know there's Controversy around his life. Yeah.
But. His testimony right there at the end, he unashamedly. Share in the gospel. Um And In your In your world, you leave, you get saved, and Now you get the opportunity to share the gospel. And there's a lot of guys in your.
Situation. I know, like Ted DiBiase, Lex Luger, Luger, Sting, Sting, Sean Michaels. What's the on the list? Yep. One of the four.
Undertaker, Tully Blanchard. Tully. That's who I'm saying. Tully Blanchard. I hated him too.
Okay. Rightfully so. I did too. I hated the four horsemen. Even Lex back then.
Oh, yeah.
So you're not sure. How are y'all treating the preachers, especially that are former wrestlers? How does that world treat you guys? Is it. Difficult to be a witness in that world?
To the other wrestlers? Yes. Okay, okay, good question. And let me just state for the record. Uh Lax, my dear friend Lax, was it was a pri it was a invitation only Funeral for Hogan.
And and Lax was there. And of course, Lex saw the same interview that you did, and that I actually saw as well, and felt there was some real sincerity there to Hogan's story. And what really nailed it for Lex, or really kind of solidified his salvation, Hogan's salvation, was. His uh Hogan's pastor. who led the funeral, who who did the s the the the celebration there.
And the things he shared he s about Hogan being in church every Sunday that that that last year, uh bringing bringing people. Like he'd meet people at his at his beach shop. And bring people every week. and the pastor was discipling him. every week.
Every week. That church has a good reputation of being a solid church. Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
So Alexis walked away going, wow, it was the real deal for Hogan. And so, all that to say, more to directly to your point, you know, pro-wrestling by nature, the boys in the business are a bit skeptical of everything or many things, let's just say.
So, you know, they hear about somebody, oh, you know, so-and-so gave his life. Yeah, you know, another angle, another gimmick, another angle. And it's only by spending time around, like, no one can spend time around Luger that knew him, what I call BC before Christ and know him now, and not. whether they like it or not, cannot say he is a changed man. He's a changed man.
No ifs, ands, or buts. He's not the same guy now after surrendering his life to Christ that he was before that. And so, yeah, it's met with a lot of skepticism by guys in our business. But over time, as they spend time around us, they really, if they're honest, can't deny that. That they're witnessing a life that has been changed and changed by not the gospel message, but more importantly, by Jesus himself.
And so, yeah, great, man, that's a great, that was a great question. I don't think I've ever been asked that before.
So, well, I just being a sports fan, watching some of these guys as they try to be light in the world. Yeah, in all different sports and stuff, right? Because when you're given that platform, and again, there's going to be all kinds of skepticism out there, and people are going to say whatever they want. 'Cause you know, 'cause they can. You know, it's a it's a it's a free world.
And so uh but I think at the end of the day the the old expression comes to mind is the proof is in the pudding.
So if you spend enough time around somebody who professes to be a Christ follower, a believer in Jesus, and and follows him and becomes his disciple, that time will will prove that to be That to be true in these guys' lives.
