I encourage you to check that out. I brought Bob back because he is in Florida. He's in Destin, Florida, but he has family that are down in in the worst hit parts of this. And so, Bob, talk to us about what you're hearing this morning. What are you hearing from family members and what are you hearing just in general? Well, in certain areas, it's pretty horrific. Lee County, which is Fort Myers and Charlotte County is Port Charlotte, Sarasota and some parts of Naples are just absolutely devastated.

My dad's down in Naples. He's OK, though. He was pretty one of the lucky ones, I guess. He didn't have any damage. He just lost power. It's funny because he lost power after the storm had already passed.

It was already nightfall. And when his power went out, my brother in law wasn't as lucky, though. He's in Northport, which is a little bit north of Fort Myers, and he had windows broken in and he had flooding in his house.

I think he is OK. We think we haven't been able to hear from him now since about 10 o'clock last night. We can't get any cell coverage from him, but we hope he's OK. Yeah, they were saying that cell towers have been knocked out and that, you know, more cell towers were were it was kind of like a domino effect. But, you know, there were cell towers that that were up, but they kind of had an anticipation that they may go down.

Yeah, that's usually what happens. These people are going to have images that are going to be seared in their minds now for the rest of their lives. I still have images from a hurricane I went through in 1995, Hurricane Opal, that it was it's it's mind boggling. It's something you can never forget. And that's if you make it through. OK. And we pray, you know, for everybody who's down there affected by this. It's a horrific thing to have to experience.

What do you hear? I mean, you're you're you're a small business owner as well. What what do you hear from, you know, people in your community and and and and their experiences and interactions with with with their family and friends, many of whom I'm sure are directly impacted by this? Well, everything's going to be shut down now, but not for days, probably for weeks, and maybe some will never recover. Some of the the insurances that people might have had can be given the money runs out after a while. Some of the insurance companies, you went bankrupt after some of these hurricanes. They couldn't give it out anymore. Any more premiums.

They're going to need a lot of help from whoever private, from government, from insurance, from whoever. It's it's devastation on a massive scale that that you hope it only comes along once in a lifetime. Right. Right. Now, now speaking to that and talking about the rebuilding, like, for example, let's use your your brother in law as as a you know, as a case in point, he's got broken windows, he's got you know, we don't even know what all kind of damage possibly likely he's got water in his home. Well, he had a well, so hopefully that was OK. OK. But no, but what I meant was this is is is the surge of water. More than likely he had he had water that got into into the house.

Yeah, for sure. He had water that came in through the windows here for a while there. We thought he might be flooded out. We're not sure. We don't know.

We haven't been able to talk to him since like 10 o'clock last night. Right. Right. So in in in that kind of an instance, having been through, you know, your own experience with a flood back in 1995, that that is I mean. You know, I interacted with Katrina, people who we helped in 2005, and I was able to, you know, be there as a chaplain for them. But you experienced this. This is not something that you're talking about. Even, you know, as close as my experience was, my experience was basically talking to someone like yourself going through it.

But you experienced this. Talk to me about what what does a person who has experienced this? What besides just the physical needs? How do you help somebody? How you really help somebody? Well, you just comfort them and support them as much as you can. You know, God will provide in time. You just help them through it. Some people are going to lose everything.

The most important thing, though, is not to lose your life because that could easily happen if you don't do the right things. In my case, I spent that night in the supermarket. Back then, they didn't take the hurricanes as seriously as they do today. And the traffic was so congested that you couldn't move. You were stuck in traffic for hours and hours.

And luckily, I was able to stay in the supermarket with other people. But when once you get out and you see the aftermath of this, it's something you can never forget. Relative to the aftermath, have you gotten yet, I know it's still quite early there, you know, it's early across the country, but have you gotten any aftermath kinds of reports yet relative to descriptions of the devastation? Yeah, well, I've seen roads flooded out.

I even saw one image of a shark swimming down the street, a small shark, but you could see the fins swimming in the water along the street. Wow. Yeah. And I've seen fire stations flooded out.

And I mean, it's just incredible. Pray for those people. And as soon as you can get them help, you know, I suggest helping them in any way you can. Well, I know I connected you with a gentleman that is down there that has, you know, expressed that that he see. Let me see if I if I've got There we go. And he is strategic response partners. You know, for for that physical assistance. Are you planning on are you do you plan to try to head down that way at some point when they when they say that you know that that individuals can go in or or or are you going to try and facilitate bringing people to you or how are you how are you doing that? Well, I'm playing it by ear right now. I don't think they're going to allow travel for a while. It usually takes at least a week to clear all the debris and all the power lines and all the sometimes just by going there, you kind of muck things up, too. So sometimes the best thing you can do is let the authorities, you know, the fire and rescue and people like that take care of things before you get in their way.

So I'm just going to play it by ear and see how it goes. And if I'm needed, though, I'll go now. Now, where's your restaurant? Destin, I was outside the cone of the storm. Okay. We didn't get we didn't have any effects up here. I'm in the Panhandle, right? Right. So this we a lot of times we do get them.

Actually, we've probably gotten them more than the west coast of Florida, but we haven't gotten any for a few years. So thank the Lord. Yeah. Well, and I know that, you know, Orlando and and that and the and that inner part is supposed to get hit pretty hard in the next 24 hours. Yeah. Yeah. It's they'll get a lot of rain and they'll lose power in a lot of areas also.

So so pray for those people as well. The whole state needs help. Yeah. Well, it seems like Governor DeSantis has a pretty aggressive plan for addressing this. And a lot of people on standby, you know, just waiting for the winds to get to a place where they can get in and do something. Yeah. A lot of the infrastructure now to handle these storms is in place. And and that's that's very helpful.

I say that's where the eye came on, where it hit land was Cape Corals. Is that right? Yes.

Okay. Yeah. His brother-in-law is in Cape Corals and he reported last night, they haven't been able to reach him since 10 o'clock last night. But when they spoke with him- Well, do you want to, go ahead, did they get a hold of him?

Yeah. Well, so what I'll do is let me, I just got off the phone with Bob. Let me re-text, reintroduce that text and have him, can I get a hold of you?

So you guys, but yeah, he said broken windows and a huge amount of damage to the home. So, I don't know if you can hear me or not, but tell me what you're seeing. I can hear you now.

Okay. Tell me what you're seeing, Steve. Well, I mean, there's- I'm not, I'm not, I am not hearing you. If you can hear me, I am not hearing you.

Are you there? Yeah, I think we just, I think we just lost service with him. Yeah, I think we just lost service with him. It's going to be really tough to hang on to these calls just because of how bad everything is down there. And it is bad. It is really, really bad right now. But we're going to, we're going to try to get him back and we'll try to pick up some more information along the way.

Because like I say, it's, it's, it is, it is really bad. Keep these folks in your prayers, please. They, Steve is down there as he told you, he's right, right, right in the thick of it. And let's see if I can, there we go. Sorry, I'm trying to get him. I don't know if this is any better or not.

Sometimes, sometimes data works, sometimes data doesn't work. But at any rate, Steve Slutsovic is, is the gentleman I was speaking with, the rapid response. And they are, as he told you, he's right down, right down in the middle of it.

And they spent the night down there and I'm sure had quite a ride with that hurricane. And now they're working their way up, trying to, trying to help wherever they possibly can. So I'm going to, if you'll be, if you'll excuse me in doing this, I'm, let's see, Steve is near.

Great to have you with me. Clay Clark will be with us at the bottom in the hour. In the last hour, we connected with Bob Gonzalez who's live in Florida. He lives in Destin but has family. His dad was in Naples last night, rode out of the storm, seems to be doing okay. His brother-in-law, however, is near the Cape where the storm hit near Fort Myers or just north of Fort Myers.

And he didn't fare as well, broken out windows and other things. And so in the latter part of that segment, we had with us Steve Slepsik. And Steve is someone who is down there specifically to provide assistance and support.

And so we appreciate Steve being there. Brother, I just realized, Warren, I am early. If you need a little more time before we do this, I'm fine with that and I apologize. I will do whatever you want, brother.

Well, you know what, since I've already got you on the line, why don't we just do this first half hour and then I will give you your leave. Be at last. No doubt, no doubt. Well, let me ask you, you know, we have, of course, we talked a little bit about this, but the speech that the president, the resident in the White House gave back on the 1st of September where he essentially said that those of us that hold to traditional values should be treated as extremely dangerous. We've now had the situation with Mark Houk, a pro-life person who was defending his son, whose charges were thrown out by the district court in Philadelphia that was barged in upon by the FBI and arrested. We have a young man in Kalin Elsinger who was run over because he was, you know, Republican.

So let's kill him. We now have reports that leadership in the Democratic Party are suggesting that somehow Republicans are responsible for the hurricane that is plummeting through Florida at the moment. Is any of their what I think is just extreme ideology, does any of this surprise you?

No. The acquisition and use of political power is the one thing that can bring down our country without a doubt. And according to the customary rules of midterm elections, if you look at the condition of the country economically, excuse me, the prospect of recession, people coming across the border in unprecedented numbers, and we can't afford to house them, to educate them, to take care of their health care. If you look at that, all of that, Pastor Greg, one would say there's going to be a change this November. But long comes the decision about abortion and it gives the left political energy.

Political energy wins elections and the American people often don't focus on the conditions, they listen to the hype. And Democrats are lost. They are lost ideologically. They have been taken over by the progressives in their party and the progressives are driving the car. So I'm not surprised by all of this, but I'm energized and I hope my fellow Americans realize what is at stake. I'm not an alarmist, but I tell you, this is a make or break moment in American history, American life. They are trying to, quote, transform America. That is the agenda. These things aren't just happening out of the blue with no Machiavellian plan behind them.

This is deliberate. You know, two things popped up in my mind as you were talking about that. I had Dick Morris on yesterday and he was talking about the abortion issue and that, you know, there's been a five point swing in the general attitude of Americans about abortion. And if you talk about, you know, limiting abortion at, say, 15 weeks, the majority of Americans are in agreement that there needs to be some restrictions and that third trimester term, late term abortions are absolutely unacceptable, 100 percent. And that, you know, the Democratic Party is not pro-choice, pro-women, but pro-abortion. And that message is not resonating with people.

The message hasn't been delivered by my fellow Republicans. And as a result, by default, the American people are left to accept the demagoguery of President Biden, who's saying Roe is on the ballot and my choice, my uterus, all of those messages are winning the day. And not factored in is that it's your body, it's your choice. But there comes a point in which there's a life involved and society has an interest in the preservation of that life.

Moreover, the person who was a party to your pregnancy and conceiving it, you're going to be asking him at some point to share in the responsibility of the thing that you folks have done, you and your husband, your boyfriend. So it's not just your body, it's your body, but it's not just your choice. That message has not been delivered because we're afraid to do it. We're afraid to intrude on a woman's privacy.

I am. But there are some factors that need to be added into the mix. That's not happening. Well, and the reality is that she's been misled to believe that abortion is the only choice, number one. She's also been misled to believe that the promiscuity that was a part of in the past or has been a part of the quote unquote male life, the male persona sleeping around and that somehow that mentality is something to be emulated when it's not. But now it's drifted over and now it's the woman who is told, hey, you have the same rights as the man and so you should be sleeping around as well.

And I would just suggest to both sides, stop because the most important thing you have that you give to someone in a meaningful relationship is that physical encounter, that physical self that's you. And we've lost that and in the church we've lost understanding how incredible that is and how incredible it is to be in a long-term covenant-minded secure relationship. Pastor Greg, I posed a question the other day on Twitter, does culture lead our politics or does politics lead our culture? And the thing that I keep coming back to is that question that was asked by a female senator in the confirmation hearing of Justice Kondratotani, whatever, Jackson Brown, what is a woman? And there was a slight hesitation to answer that. The problem is you had to ask the question, this question, but you had to ask that. Yeah. From the days of Adam and Eve, we knew what a woman was. We still do. Right.

But the society is gone wrong and I come to visit with you every Thursday because I want to do my little part here to help right the ship. We are in trouble, big trouble. Yeah. And it's bigger than just this next election. Yeah.

No, I agree. I mean, we need to recognize that what the other side has been doing, they have been doing for a long time. This is not some brand new concept that they've been putting on us.

They've been doing this for a very long time. And I think it's the reason why, yeah, why we have a younger generation that has the thought processes that they do. And we don't understand, Senator Wright, many of us don't really understand what is going on. We think this too shall pass on November 8th. It ain't going to pass, this attitude, because it is embedded.

And we've allowed it to happen by not fully engaging those on the left. No doubt about it. No doubt about it. All right. We're going to take a little break. When we come back, we'll peel back some more layers on these thoughts. And why is it that, for example, President Trump gets an impeachment over supposedly raising up an insurrection, and yet Joe Biden calls for people to attack Republicans, and we have a young man who has been killed because he was a Republican.

Ward, you know, we're talking about, again, the long-term play here of the left. They have been, I mean, this goes back to the late, you could probably trace it back to the late 1800s, early 1900s, certainly Woodrow Wilson and, you know, and the League of Nations which, you know, which became the United Nations which has spawned the World Health Organizations and so on and the additional forced, well, the medical tyranny that we've watched now as we look at this whole plandemic that's taken place.

But there is definitely an ideology and there was a plan in place to try to get a label on all of us who believe in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States, God, family, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Do I have you, brother? I'm here. I was hoping that you would let me know. Would you want me to run my mouth? I do now.

Run. Well, Pastor Greg, I have studied all of this as have you for years and the defining moment for our country was when Senator Sanders of Vermont ran for president and his platform was he wanted to transform America. Think of those two words, transform America.

Any real student would ask, from what to what? Progressives live by the creed that America is a racist nation, that we were conceived by white supremacists and they are still controlling the nation and we need to change that, they argue, and they have what is called, quote, progressive priority. And at the top of that progressive priority is the agenda of race.

They believe that people of color, a term that I do not like, that people of color are victims of American society and that has to change in their view and black people especially have been victimized. Progressive priorities don't like borders. They don't want borders. There are people without borders. Well, how do you have a country in which you say to everybody, come one, come all, it's like a boat out in the middle of the ocean that has too many people and you're welcoming more on, the boat's going to collapse, it's going to sink. So this people without borders, a country without borders is now facing the consequences of unprecedented numbers coming into the country.

That's because of progressive ideology and no matter what Vice President Harris says about the border is secure, it ain't secure, and nothing is being done by the president, I won't say nothing, but he sure isn't doing anything to block that because AOC and the squad would be furious, he would lose that wing. And then with respect to inflation, progressive ideology is dictating that. With respect to criminal justice and defunding the police, what was behind that? We are faced with an ideology that is designed to destroy the nation. And I'm not going to alarm it, but this November was supposed to be a defining moment. The decision by the court to send abortion back to the state was the right decision, but it could not have come at a worse time because it has had a powerful influence on the political energy of the far left and the Democrats to alter what otherwise would have occurred this November based on the circumstances that exist. Well, and the response for us as believers and as citizens of this country, the response of We the People is we have got to overwhelm the ballot box by getting out and voting and getting our friends to get out and vote. And, you know, I'm sadly in some of the situations, we don't have a true conservative on the ticket anymore, but what you can't do is vote Democrat.
