Well, I'm preaching our way through the book of Hebrews. We are coming today to the last two achievements of faith found in that list of ten in the Hebrews 11. Verses 33 and 34. Remember, it tells us in verse 33 who Speaking of the heroes of faith, previously mentioned. who through faith and then ten things.
Subdued kingdoms. worked righteousness. obtained promises. Stop the mouths of lions. quench the violence of fire.
Escape the edge of the sword. Out of weakness were made strong. became valiant in battle. turned to flight the armies of the aliens, women received their dead raised to life again. We have looked at the first eight.
We are looking today at these last two achievements of faith. And remember what faith is, don't forget the definition. Faith is believing the revelation of God and Acting accordingly, right? That's what it is. And that's what we see.
We are taught that in this chapter. We are Shown illustrations of those who achieved great things by trusting God in faith. And so we learn in Hebrews chapter 11 what faith is and also what it is not, because there are many people today who have a very erroneous and unbiblical concept. Of what faith is, and we need to have a clear view, a clear understanding. of what is this faith without which it is impossible to please God.
So, we are exalting not these heroes of faith, though we do want to honor them, for God has done so. by placing them in His Word. But above that, we are honoring the God who gave them faith. And then enabled them to achieve such amazing things by the exercise. of their faith and by his response to that exercise.
of faith.
So today the last two, what are they? Number one, Faith can defeat enemies. And number two, faith. can achieve can achieve the impossible. Faith can defeat enemies.
The last phrase of verse 34. These, some of these at least, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Or as another translation puts it, put foreign enemies to flight. And that's what they did here.
And this emphasis is upon the results or accomplishments of faith.
Now in this list of 10, there are several. that refer to military battles of one kind or another. And you remember that numbers nine or rather number eight That we looked at yesterday also is involved in military conflict. It says they became valiant in battle. But there, the emphasis is upon their performance in the midst of fighting.
By faith they became strong. By faith they became courageous. By faith they dispensed Fear. and fought valiantly in these battles. But now the next phrase has to do with the result of their fighting in this way, trusting in the Lord.
They turned to flight. the armies of the aliens. And who did this?
Well, at least five of the six names in Verse 32. have done this. Remember, what more shall I say? for time would fail to tell me of Gideon. And Bayrack.
And Samson. And Jephthah. Also of David And Samuel And then to un or a a a class of unnamed ones, namely The Prophets Who did this?
Well, we've gone through all of this list previously, but let's just remind ourselves: what did Gideon do? By Believing God. Bye. Trusting the revelation that God gave to him. By following the instructions which God gave to him for fighting the Midianites, Gideon, with an army of 300, put to flight an army of tens of thousands.
That seems Impossible. It certainly is improbable. But That's what happened by Faith by a man who trusted God. And did what God told him to do. And he put.
foreign armies to flight. Bayrak, remember Bayrak? He was a little what, less courageous than than uh Gideon because he Wasn't willing to go into battle without. Um Deborah with him. And therefore He was told that the honor is going to go to a woman instead of to a man, though it turned out.
The honor didn't go to To Deborah went to another woman. But again, he believed God. He did what God said. He went into battle against an army that was well equipped with iron chariots, chariots with iron wheels, a larger force that was better equipped and Lo and behold, they mired down in the mud of an unexpected rain that came during the dry season. And They conquer the Bayrak and the smaller army conquered the army of the of the enemy and put them to flight.
and so forth, right on down through this list. Jephthah, remember Jephthah? who made that rash vow, That whoever came out of his house, if he returned victorious from battle, he would sacrifice to the Lord. We won't go back to that account. But He believed God, and he too put a superior army.
to flight. By the enabling power of God, because through faith he believed the word of God. David. I couldn't list all of the times that David went to battle against a superior force and conquered, believing the word of God and acting accordingly. Even Samuel the prophet that we don't think of as a general.
Or as a commander of armies, but nevertheless, if you'll read the account in First Samuel 7. You'll find that Samuel, who was the judge of Israel, and was the leader of that nation before Saul became the king. that he too looked to God and through faith the armies of Israel under his command. The Friedel the Philistines and a greater force. And so we see examples of that just in these names immediately preceding this list of ten.
And if we would go back through the whole chapter, we could pick out several others. This is history. This is a record of what actually happened. Smaller armies, by God's enabling, defeated larger armies.
Now, interestingly, there are a couple of occasions that are noted in the Bible. where the armies of Israel went into battle without consulting God, without trusting Him, because they had a larger army than the one that they were facing. And guess what? The reverse happened. The smaller army of the enemies put to flight the army of Israel.
And all of this to remind them and us that the battle is the Lord's. It's not ours, it's his. And in various ways, God demonstrated that again and again. throughout their history. And so what these Men of faith, and in some cases women of faith did.
is decisively defeated foreign armies Vanquishing Superior Forces. I just picked out an example or two. The described What happened in almost all of these battles, what they were facing. For example, in 2 Chronicles chapter 14, it makes this very clear. what was going on.
I'm trying to make sure I have the whole quotation here. Here it is. 2 Chronicles 14, 9. Then Zerah the Ethiopian came out against them with an army of A million men. And three hundred chariots.
And he came to Marasha.
So Acer. went out against him. And they set the troops in battle array in the valley Of Zephither. Admirasha. And Asa cried out to the Lord his God, and said, Lord, It is nothing for you to help.
whether with many, or with those who have no power. Help us, O Lord our God. For we rest on you. And in your name we go out against this multitude. Oh Lord, you are our God.
Do not let men prevail against you.
So The Lord struck the Ethiopians before Asa and Judah. and the Ethiopians fled. It doesn't tell us how many soldiers were in The Jewish army, the army of Judah at this time, but it was Only in the thousands the Ethiopians had a million soldiers. and greater armament. But By faith, King Asa And the armies of Israel Put Alien Armies to flight foreign armies to flight.
In other words, they prevailed against all odds. They prevailed in a situation where it did not look possible that they could prevail. They prevailed against a superior force. Because the biggest army doesn't always win. That's even true outside of the Bible.
In history, we see that quite often. Marty and I have enjoyed watching some of the episodes on PBS about The American War of Independence. Have any of you watched those episodes? They are fascinating. But what has struck me about This accurate rendering of that War of Independence.
is how Weak. And unlikely it was that the American Army could prevail against the largest. empire in the world, with the biggest military force in the world, with the greatest equipment in the world. I mean, at one time, they sent one hundred ships in one fleet to America to put down this rebellion, and they thought they could do it easily, but they didn't. And there were a lot of people.
in America at that time who were crying out to God for help. Lord, we can't do it by ourselves. It's impossible. By ourselves, but if you will help us, we can prevail. And they did.
The biggest army doesn't always win. The uh army that is Best equipped doesn't always win. Who wins? The army that God determines is going to win. The army that God enables to win will win.
And in so many cases in the history of Israel, It was the smallest army, the weakest army, the most unlikely army, but through faith they prevailed. because they believed in God. and they rested upon his promises. And they won the battle. They put alien armies to flight.
Through Faith.
Now how does this apply to us? Because it's written for us as well.
Well, we have enemies. Maybe we're not involved in military conflict, but we have enemies. Both personal enemies that hate us for some reason and are trying to damage us and destroy us if they can. Religious enemies who hate Christ and they hate anybody who belongs to Christ and will try to damage the church of the Lord Jesus Christ and the cause of Christ. Any way that they can.
These are enemies that we often face in this world. And these enemies are often powerful. They are awful. influential. They often have greater resources than we do.
better connections, better connected with the with the uh government officials and and those who have influence in the community. Better resources, greater resources by which to oppose God's people. That often happens, but by faith we can defeat them. We can put them to flight. Let me give you Two illustrations out of the history of our church because, number one, they do illustrate.
the point quite nicely. Number two, Because these happened so long ago that there are only going to be maybe a handful of you that were here and can remember when these things happened. We had not relocated Our Congregation to this place, this spot, this. facility. for very long.
until we had a problem. We started, as you know, meeting at Eam Holtz School in the cafeteria. And then when we had to leave there, the Lord provided. A building. That too.
Basically, we had on a rental basis on Moran Street in Burlington until we outgrew that. And so, stretching our resources to the limit, we launched into a building program on this property that God had already made available to us. And we built The first building, it's sometimes hard to tell what What building is distinguished from another when they're connected together? But we built the first building, which is basically this auditorium and then the classrooms down the hall and to the left. The auditorium was smaller in that day.
We've since pushed out the back wall and made it larger since then. But We were outgrowing, particularly the classrooms. We only had, I don't know, four or five classrooms and We were getting a lot of children in those days, lots and lots and lots of children. And we didn't know, we were just, we had classes everywhere. We had a class over here in the choir room.
That was a class of. Was that young singles or young married adults? I forget now. We had some kind of a class over here in this little room off to the side. We had a class in the hall that ran behind the.
behind the auditorium here. We had classes up and down the halls. We had classes all over. We'd run out of space. And so we Determined that by God's help, we would construct a fellowship hall.
and constructed in such a way that we could accommodate a number of classes. And that's why there are several dividing partitions in our fellowship hall. When it was originally constructed, and what you see there now is about twice the size of the original building. But when it was originally constructed, we had it situated so that we could accommodate, I think, eight different classes in there by pulling these petitions closed. We even put a class in the kitchen.
We leave we left out the The central um What do you call that thing? Yeah, the island. We we left out the the island in the middle of the kitchen f so that we could put chairs in there and have a classroom. But that was after we built it, but we ran into a problem. We went to To get um A building permit, and they said, Well, we've changed our mind.
We've decided you can't build anymore. What? When we bought This property, we checked the zoning and it was zoned. light industrial. which had a several items listed that were automatically Qualified.
to construct in that in that zone, one of which was churches.
So it was light, industrial, and several other things. You can tell that by some of the Other facilities down the road here, a couple of small Industries turn the Turn the Corner on Troxler Road, and you'll find some other industries both on the right and on the left-hand side of the road. And that's the way it was listed when we bought it. We bought a piece of property that the city said was suitable to build churches, and we built the first building on it. And we went to get the permit for the second building, and they said, We've changed our mind.
We've struck. churches from the list of qualified buildings. You have? Why so?
Well, because you're close to the airport, And What if a airplane lands on your building and there are a lot of people in there? And we said, Well, what if an airplane lands on one of these? Um Factories. There's this factory right around the corner here. that run that f for a while was humming 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
It's a whole lot more likely that if the plane lands on that, it'll land out of the time when people are there. It's going to have to target it pretty narrowly to hit it at a time when people are in church. It doesn't matter. It's too risky, we can't let you build there. What are we going to do?
Pray to God above. Lord, we don't know what to do. City Hall has said. We're stuck. We can't build.
Are we supposed to Find another piece of land someplace else and relocate and start all over? What are we supposed to do?
Now, I won't go through all of the Um details of what happened, but In the passing of time, it turned around completely. The city council overruled the verdict of the zoning Commission and the leader of that commission who was pushing this and said that we could have a permit to build. The leader of the commission. left the area. He he went s We put him to flight.
He went off in some far distant place, I think, up in the Asheville area. disappeared from Alamance County. And um And then since then I'll just Amazingly. At the time we did that, there was a little bit of uh validity in what they were saying because the airport at that time had two runways, the longest one that's still there. that runs basically north and south, and then a short one that runs east and west that planes did actually fly over our building to land on that short runway.
It wasn't used all the time, but it was used occasionally. But when the airport expanded and extended their long runway, they eliminated the short one.
Now there are no planes that are flying over our building unless they're off course.
So now if if planes that Land and take off on the runway that exists now. Let them hit the Lutheran Church in Alamance. They're in the flight path. Let them hit the Baptist church on the other side of the airport. They're in the flight path.
we're no longer on the flight path.
Now, that didn't seem likely. Who are we, a little group of people? Who are they? The Officials. the government, the movers and shakers.
In Burlington and We prevailed. Because God Came to our rescue. We trusted him, we honored him, we pled with him, and God came to our rescue. Illustration number two. It wasn't terribly long after that until we got.
A property tax bill from Alamance County. What? Yeah. We are a church. We are tax exempt.
Why are we getting a tax? Built. Because You have, I don't know how many acres we had at that time. We now have 19, and I think we may have had. 19 at that time.
Because you have acreage that you are not Using for religious purposes. And the statute says churches uh uh property that is that has That is being used for religious purposes as tax exempt. We said, well, it is being used for religious purposes. No, it's not. You're not actually using it.
Until you actually develop it and put buildings on it, then you're not using it for religious purposes, so you have to pay taxes on it. No, no, no, that's the wrong interpretation of the law. No, this is the right interpretation of the law. The Institute of Government in Chapel Hill, which advises local governments as to what the law means, they have said this is what it means. You're going to have to pay taxes.
It wasn't a huge amount, but it was the principle of the thing. We knew it was wrong. But how are we going to fight this? You see, they've got all the resources. They can drag this out.
The people who are involved in it doesn't cost them a dime. They can use government money to go to court and do whatever they want to do. If we're going to fight it, what do we got to do? We've got to dish out. And We did go to court.
And The tax bill Exceeded $10,000 before we were done and before we won and prevailed. We went through several courts. If we hadn't gotten a favorable verdict at the last court we went to, the next stop would have been the North Carolina Supreme Court.
So we lost two or three times before we got that far. But we knew we were right. We knew we were right. I won't go into the details of how we knew we were right, but we knew we were right. There had already been a case decided in Winston-Salem relating to Wake Forest University.
It was almost identical to this situation, and the court had said that. Non uh non uh tax exempt Bodies like educational and religious institutions are allowed to have land for a buffer zone if they like. That's a legitimate use. That makes sense. If you're in an industrial zone anyway, you'd like to have a little buffer on either side so that you don't have a factory right next to your auditorium.
That's a legitimate use. But they said no, you're not using it. But the rest of the story. Who had showed up in our church just about that time? A lawyer.
with her doctor husband. who were members of our church for a short while. And what was the specialty of this lawyer? Out of all the things lawyers specialize in, she specialized in. Taxes.
She was a tax attorney. And she was outraged at what was happening to her church. And she went led the fight in court for us. And Did it. Pro bono, we didn't pay a cent.
And we won. It didn't seem likely. But we prevailed. Through faith. Trust in God.
We put Alien armies. to flight. And that's an example. of how this works. If we believe.
What God's Word says. There's no telling what we can do. Have you ever given a lot of thought to that text? You'll find it in more than one gospel. I'll read it out of Matthew 21.
And when the disciples saw it, that is the instant withering of the fig tree, they marveled, saying, How did the fig tree wither away so soon?
So Jesus answered and said to them, Assuredly, I say to you, If you have faith. That's the subject, isn't it? Faith. If you have faith, and do not doubt, You will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also, if you say to this mountain, be removed and cast into the sea, it will be done. And whatever things you ask in prayer believing, you will receive.
Well, of course there's Probably a lot of things that need to be said about that to put it all into proper context, but. And compare it with other prayer verses, but... It's clear Jesus is saying, you can do bigger things than you think you can. You can do great big things. You can do impossible things if you do it by faith, believing the revelation of God and acting in accordance with that.
You'd be surprised at what you can accomplish. But we move on. Faith can achieve the impossible. The last one. Verse 35.
Women received their dead raised to life again. We've now moved from the seeming impossible to the utterly impossible. Many of those battles, it seemed impossible for the inferior army of Israel to prevail, but they did. But now we've moved to. bringing back to life someone who has died who can do that no matter what.
It's impossible, but with God, all things are Possible, right? And this is evidence of it. Who did this? Who were involved with women receiving their dead Sons raised to life again.
Well, there are two Old Testament accounts that fit this description. I read the first one to you, the widow of Zarephath. In 1 Kings chapter 17. And the second one is the woman of Shunam in 2 Kings chapter 4. The first one is under the prophet Elijah.
Remember the list? of people in verse thirty two ended with and Prophets and the prophets. Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and the prophets like Elijah and Elisha. And so the first occasion when a Dead. Child was raised to life, was under the prophet Elijah, and the second one was under Elisha.
The first occasion with Elijah was the widow of Zarephath, and I read it. in 1 Kings 17. Zarephath was And uh today it it's it's Lebanon. It's um The Tyre and Sidon area, the Phoenicia area. It's outside of Israel.
The people who lived there were Gentiles. This is a Gentile widow that God sent Elijah too during the famine. And said, I've appointed a widow there to feed you. And Elijah was directed to the appropriate widow, the designated widow, and asked her for something to eat. And she said, I don't have anything to eat.
I'm going to fix my last meal and my son and I are going to die of starvation because of the famine. And Elijah said, Make me a cake first. That sounds awful. Selfish, awful audacious. Why don't you say, feed yourself and make me a cake afterwards?
But there's a lesson there. If we want the blessing of God, we put Him first. And Elijah's teaching this woman that, even though she's a Gentile. Make me a cake first, and after that, Make one for your son. And so Incredibly, she did.
She must have believed God. She must have believed the revelation of God. She wasn't even a A worshipper of Jehovah, at least not yet, but she's going to be. But she believed that Elijah was representing the God of Israel, and somehow God gave her the faith to believe that what he said was true. And she made him a cake first, and what happened, of course, is.
Her flour never ran out and her oil never ran out for weeks and months until the until the rain came again. It was a continuous supply. Because she believed the revelation of God and acted in accordance with it. Elijah said, If you'll do this, God will take care of you. You will not starve.
And she believed it, and she made him food first. Week after week, month after month went by, and every time she went to her flour bin, there was flour there. Every time she poured out her olive oil flask, there was oil there. It never ran out until she no longer needed it. But the day came As we read later, when her son died, and Elijah was still there.
She was still feeding Elijah. And her son died. And she said, Why have you done this? Why has your God done this? Have you done this to call my sin to remembrance?
We don't know. What that was But It may have been connected with that child. Who knows? But at any rate. Elijah was distressed.
And he took the child. And he prayed to God, and he said something like, Oh, Lord God, I can't I can't think you would do this. I can't think you would send me to this widow. And And use her to take care of me during this time and then allow her child to die or appoint her child to die. Lord, I believe that your love and your mercy and your loving kindness would overrule this.
Oh, Lord God, please send life back to the child. And God did, and the child was raised to life and presented back to the mother. And then she said, now I know you're a man of God and that the word of God is in your mouth. I think she became a believer. in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
The second example that I didn't have time to read this morning is in 2 Kings 4. It's the woman of Shunam. A lot of contrast. The woman of Zarephath was a Gentile. The woman of Shunim was a Jew.
The woman of Zarephath was poor. The woman of Shunim was wealthy. The widow of Zarephath was a widow, and the woman of Shunam was a married woman. But both of them had a similar experience. But now we're in the days of Elisha.
Elijah's gone, Elisha's there. And this wealthy woman had noticed Elisha coming by They're neighborhood frequently. And she said to her husband, how about if we build Add a room onto our house and furnish it. And whenever the prophet comes through here, let's offer him hospitality and invite him to stay here. And they did that, and so Elisha had a place to stay when he was ministering in that area.
And then after some time, the Lya, oh, she had no child. And uh Elisha said, What can we do for you? She said, Oh, nothing. I don't need anything. But Elisha's servant Gehazi said, notice she she's childless.
And notice that Her husband's old. And Elisha called her back and said, This time next year, you're going to hold a son in your arms and she did. We've heard a similar account several other times in the Bible before this, haven't we? Miraculous child.
Well, that should have strengthened her faith. But now the child is up. Probably younger grade school age, young enough still to be held on his mother's lap, but old enough to go out into the field and spend some time there with his father. And he's out there one day and he drops dead. And the woman.
runs to Elisha. Told her husband she was going to see the man of God, didn't even tell him why, runs to Elisha. pours out her grief to him. Elisha sends Gehazi his servant with his rod to go try to lay it on the child, but that doesn't. doesn't accomplish anything and then Elisha comes up a little bit later.
Was he? A little older, couldn't run as fast as Gehazi. Was he a little heavier? Couldn't run as fast as Gehazi? I don't know.
But he gets there in due season, and he stretches himself out on the child, and he prays a prayer similar to the one that Elijah had prayed. Oh, Lord God, you have blessed this woman, and you have blessed us because of this woman. And are you going to let her child die? Oh, Lord, please bring life back to this boy. Amazingly, impossibly, he's raised Back to life.
Through faith. Because the revelation of God was such that they believed it and acted accordingly. But here's the thing I want you to see in this particular case. There is no Recorded revelation from God that says, I will raise this child if you will believe me. They don't have that.
So, what revelation are they believing? They don't have a revelation that says, The divine word of God is that he intends to raise this child, if you will believe his word. But there is no such revelation, so what are they going to believe?
Well, I think this is a case, and we find ourselves in this situation a lot. I think this is a case where both Elijah and Elisha cast themselves. Upon God's power. And his mercy. His omnipotence, his ability to do this, and his character.
He is a merciful God, a gracious God, a loving God. appealed to him on that basis. And God answered. and did the impossible. Nobody can raise a dead person to life but God.
They did the impossible. I think I called your attention.
some months ago to a chorus that that I remember Singing as a boy. I wonder if any of you did when you were younger. It goes something like this. Got any rivers you think are uncrossable? Got any mountains you can't tunnel through?
God specializes in things thought impossible. He does the things others cannot do. Any of you know that? A few older folks. That goes way back, I suppose, to the fifties, maybe the sixties.
But that's exactly what we're reading about here. Trust in God enables His people to do the impossible because only God can do the impossible. And so it's not his people that are doing the impossible, it's God who's doing the impossible. But he does so in response to believing prayer, believing faith. That's why we need to understand the true nature of biblical faith, not some of this.
nonsense that is peddled in the world in which we live. We are not commanding God. I command you to do this, I command you to do that. What blasphemy? Oh Lord God I kneel at your throne.
I yield myself to your sovereign will. I'm not demanding or commanding anything. But I am pleading. I know you can. And will you, in this case, Do this miracle that needs to be done.
It's believing what God is able to do. What he said he would do, sometimes we have a direct promise that tells us what God will do. We rest on that. or what he has revealed about himself. What he would We would think he would be inclined to do, but we don't know for sure because we don't know his will in that situation.
But God is pleased when we go to him in prayer and say, I believe you can do this. I believe you, whatever it is that you're confronting right now that seems impossible. I believe you can do this.
Now, whether it is your will or not, I do not know, but oh Lord, you have been so gracious. You have been so merciful. You have been so kind. You have shown such loving kindness down through these years. Oh, Lord, could I prevail upon you to show loving kindness in this situation and do what only your power can do?
And that's a prayer that pleases God. What about the salvation? Of some of your loved ones who seem like they have gone so long. and are so unmoved. that it is impossible for them to be saved.
Don't you ever say it's impossible as long as there's still breath in their bodies. God is able to do it. God is able to do the impossible. God is able to save those who seem unlikely. Did anyone seem more unlikely for salvation than Saul of Tarsus in his hatred against Christ on the Damascus road?
But God saved him. He's able. Did anyone seem more unlikely for salvation than the thief who hung beside Jesus Christ on the cross? and cried out to Christ for mercy, and Christ saved him. And you may have loved ones, children, other relatives.
Who have heard the gospel and rejected it year after year after year after year? You say, I think they've crossed the line. You don't know that. It is possible to do that, but you don't know that.
So if you were me, or if I were you, I would encourage you to just keep on praying and appeal to the. to the grace, the mercy, the love of God. Who delights to save sinners. And his word says he delights to save the most unlikely sinners. And Paul said that was me.
I'm the most unlikely one of all, and God saved me as an example. This is the kind of people he delights to save. Go to the Lord like that. Don't give up on your loved ones. Pray for their salvation.
God can do the impossible. There are all kinds of other needs. For healing. We don't know what God's will may be, but it honors Him to appeal to Him. And to acknowledge that you believe in his power and to appeal to his character and appeal to his love and his kindness.
Financial supply. God's able to do what seems impossible in the area of finances. I delight. to rehearse in my mind and to talk to others. about what God did for missionary Bob Bixby in France.
Who needed to raise $750,000 to buy a building? When he told us about that, I must confess that I think in my mind, I said, That's Impossible. But it wasn't. God did it. And Renato, your need isn't nearly that great.
But I believe God is able. to give you what you need for that building in Italy. And I am asking him to do that. I'm prevailing upon him. in His loving kindness.
It's for the gospel's sake, Lord. It's for the sake of Italians who need the gospel, O Lord. Will you do this? Who was it who said, Expect great things from God, attempt great things for God? Was that William Carey who said that?
Yeah. Quite the life. take time to talk about Baptist missionary William Carey, what a tremendous ministry he had. Expect great things from God, attempt great things for God. That's what Jesus was saying.
If you have faith, You can cast this mountain into the sea, not just to show As a show-off, there's got to be a reason for it, a need for it, of course. But if there's a need for it, God can do it. Trust him. Believe in. Pray.
to him. And when he does, be careful. to give him all the glory. Shall we pray? Father, thank you for your word.
Thank you for this portion of your word. Thank you for the encouragement that it gives to us. Help us, O Lord, to believe your revelation. and to act in accordance with what you have revealed. As we ask it in Jesus' name, Amen.
