It probably is just me. But that's all right. I don't mind. It's actually my first time kind of going through the hump with you for the last couple of weeks because we had a two-part family vacation. One part in Texas, one part in Virginia with a couple of days at home in between. And so for that reason, I've really been out of my regular routine. Trying to get back into it this week. No more time off for me actually until November, I think. Maybe one long weekend in August, but I'm not sure about that because we had a front-loaded year with a bunch of trips, a couple of weddings, my brother's milestone birthday, our honeymoon. Just so much that happened teaching my class at Syracuse. And so it was a lot on our plates and a lot of travel.

I figured it out. We haven't had a weekend at home in four weeks. And so we're really looking forward to this Saturday and just being hermit people for an entire weekend.

Well, not for the whole weekend, but for Saturday. And then looking back, I think they're only two weeks out of the last three months. So going back to the beginning of April, which is when I started my class at Syracuse.

And so I was on the road every week. All the way through April, three of the four weeks in May. And then the first two weeks of July, we all featured traveling of some sort.

And then in June, three of the four weeks featured people visiting us. And so I think over the past, gosh, three and a half months, we've had maybe, maybe one week that has been typical. When I tell you we just want to be an old married couple, actually, that's something that sounds really enticing, even though actually Wednesday is our seven month anniversary. We've not had a real typical first seven months, but it's okay.

It's a lot more fun to go through the crazy and to navigate a lot of ups and downs and twists and turns and just the type of spinning that makes it dizzy when you have your best friend as your partner. So I'm glad that we have some time at home, but certainly it's been a whirlwind the first seven months of the year. It's After Hours with Amy Lawrence.

I appreciate those of you who are weighing in your top five sports is what I'm asking. And if you want to send your questions for an impromptu version of Ask Amy Anything, I'm not sure I'm going to do it. I might do it. It would be next hour. So you're just going to send the questions to me and I will answer them live on the air.

If I see enough of them. Otherwise, maybe I'll just tell you stories about the dog sitter that can take one weekend and somehow turn the house into a pit. I don't know how that happens. I keep saying and my husband does not want to use her anymore.

I keep saying it can't get any worse and how much damage could she possibly do in the span of two nights and two and a half days but she ups the ante every time. You can find me on Twix a law radio also on our Facebook page. After Hours with Amy Lawrence and our phone number 855-212-4227 at 855-212-4227. There are a few pictures up on both of our social media sites. I do plan to put up at least a couple more pictures on Facebook that I just haven't gotten to yet. But I know you're going to be patient with me because it's just me right now. Not only navigating the show but also manning the social media and as you can imagine it's a lot to handle. I wish that I could do something on YouTube for you but I don't even have the technology to be able to edit on YouTube. And right now producer Jay even though he's not still with the show still is I guess the owner you would call it the owner of the YouTube channel and until we get a new producer there's no one to transfer that ownership to. Again I can't do anything with it because I don't have the technology on my computer nor do I really want to be recording videos on my own I'm just not there yet.

Although you know what actually at some point maybe we'll throw this out for feedback. One of our fellow hosts here at the Infinity Sports Network posed to me the idea of putting our show on YouTube. Because there are other shows on the network that air on YouTube and with the structure and the software already in place the cameras are already here in studio it would be pretty easy for us to broadcast our show.

It would be on the network YouTube channel not my YouTube channel but the network YouTube channel. I just don't know how many people would be tuning in via that mechanism, especially with the hours that we do know we get a lot of people that listen all four hours. Just because listening habits are different overnight people are either driving, maybe they are working and so they have one radio slash source of audio, other people if they're listening to the show on demand it's because they pull out the podcast and so if they are actually wanting to listen to the podcast wanting to listen to the show then yes they're going to listen to more of it. We also have people who use it as kind of background noise which I'm fine with when they have insomnia or trying to sleep or maybe you're up late studying on the west coast up late working or the opposite up early. And morning radio is fairly typical where people tune into a particular show a network a station and it kind of gauges helps them to gauge where they are in their morning routine. I know that I used to do that pretty religiously when I was working morning radio I would wake up and I would based on what I was listening to on another show I would know exactly where I had to be and when it's the same thing when I get in my car to drive into New York City which is where our headquarters are located.

I know exactly when the traffic and weather reports are and what I need to be listening to as I'm getting across the Hudson River and into Manhattan so yeah we can sometimes set our clocks based on our radio or audio options. I know a lot of you do that so glad to keep you company whatever it is that you are doing. We've got the question out there because July is like a veritable buffet in the sports world especially with the Olympics coming up what are your top five favorite sports in order. And yes these are the dog days. Paul on Facebook football baseball hockey women's soccer collage basketball that might be my favorite C O L L A G E collage basketball.

Let's see William goes oh no we talked about William and his emojis here's one from Eric baseball soccer football basketball hockey video games. I feel like eSports kind of rose and maybe fell a little bit it peaked because of the pandemic and and people having more time on their hands to be able to invest in eSports but now it doesn't seem to get nearly the coverage and I haven't seen it on TV lately. Not that I would sit and watch it but every now and then on your TV guide or on a channel you would come across eSports and like many of the popular mechanisms or popular pastimes during 2020 and then on into 21 it feels like it has died out a bit. You know one thing that hasn't though the trend for Americans to do takeout we are doing takeout more now than we ever have and we can go to restaurants of course but I know entire restaurants in my area where their business is now more takeout than it is sit down which I think is kind of interesting. Obviously working from home is one major change that came out of 2020 because more people have the hybrid schedules or work at home entirely.

Once we figured out as a populace that it can be done make people want that option. My sister in law is in HR and she says they actually lose people or candidates for jobs because they're not allowed to work from home full time. And the owner of their company initially was taking a hard line stance about working from home saying our employees need to be in the office five days a week and had to change that and not only appreciate what his employees were saying but morph into a hybrid schedule because too many employees decided they weren't going to do that and they wanted the flexibility of working from home at least part of the time so now they get two days a week at home. I know my husband's company initially wasn't going to allow anyone to work from home but they didn't want to lose him and so they allowed him to work from home full time as opposed to a couple of days a week so yeah that's another major change. That's an entire genre of books I feel like that will come out impacts and long term effects of the pandemic and I don't mean the illness part or the vaccine part. I mean more just the way that our American population and probably to a larger extent world population global population the way that we have changed some of our habits daily life habits that we're still even now I think kind of figuring out and not to mention the psychological and emotional impacts of having been stuck at home for as long as we were.

It's not a book that I will write, but I do think there will be a bunch of books out there that will someday tell the story for those people who didn't live through it. All right, so you can find me on Twix or on Facebook we're asking your top five sports. A lot of you are saying baseball which I love a bunch of you were saying football. I want to get to both of those a little bit especially considering that team that once again has high hopes to get to the Super Bowl has got disgruntled employee on its hands, and then the Chiefs are still the team to beat. How many years in a row now have some analysts I won't say all some analysts and prognosticators and insiders told you that the Chiefs window had closed. The rest of the league is caught up with the Chiefs. Oh, my favorite was two years ago when the rest of the AFC West made all these big moves the Chargers on defense, the Broncos went out and got Russell Wilson.

I can't remember. Let's see Raiders. What did they do? Well, they moved to Vegas and they also hired Josh McDaniels as their head coach.

Boy, we know how that turned out, right? So every team made these big moves spent a lot of money splashy changes to their roster and their coaching staff. And the Chiefs were maybe, maybe going to finish above 500.

Oh, don't another Super Bowl. So yeah, that'll teach you to talk about the Chiefs and their untimely demise. They are among the first teams to report their quarterbacks along with their rookies. So a lot of the rookies around the NFL reported on Tuesday. By the end of the week, pretty much every team will have its rookies in camp and a bunch of teams will also have veterans in camp. You may have seen the news that quarterback Caleb Williams, the number one overall pick has finally signed his deal with the Bears. So he is full bore when it comes to training camp.

They don't have to have that hanging over their heads. A lot of times it's language. It's language that doesn't have to do with the money as much as it has to do with some of the other stipulations in his contract. You pay a rookie that kind of money. You commit to a rookie with the number one overall pick and you're trying to protect your investment as a team, as a franchise.

And so it's really about the fine print in some of those contracts, which is what takes a longer period of time. Also, I suppose if I really wanted to, maybe I will at some point or maybe Rory McIlroy will rebound in such a way in this last major of the golf season. Wow, say that out loud. Last major of the golf season since they kind of retooled the schedule and moved the majors around. It would have been, it's probably a popular topic in sports, but it would have been too easy to ask you the worst collapses in sports history. I've seen Rory McIlroy and Greg Norman's names together, which is sort of ironic because Rory can't stand Greg Norman. And now after his collapse at the U.S. Open, people are putting him in that same category. Remember when, and for those of you who are older sports fans, I was in school, but I remember watching Greg Norman collapse in the final round of the Masters and Nick Faldo taking advantage and being able to win that Masters instead.

And it was considered one of the greatest collapses in sports history. So now you've got Rory McIlroy and Greg Norman, whose names are being mentioned synonymously, synonymously, simultaneously, synonymously. That's a word. Okay, all right, Colton's giving me the nod.

Sometimes, like I said, words come out of your mouth and you think, what is that word? But they're being mentioned together and they're being connected because of a collapse and it's got to drive Rory crazy because he makes no bones about the fact that he can't stand Greg Norman with the whole live and piff stuff. He can't stand him. So you can find us again on either of our social media, your top five sports.

If you want to send a couple of questions for Ask Amy, we'll see if we get to him about it would be about 90 minutes from now. Our friend Chicago Johnny is listening in Vegas, where I don't know how hot it is, but it's just as hot here in the northeast. Oh, well, we just got up to 108 today. So that's it. That's not that bad.

No, we're fine. I have a present for you, if you're interested. Oh, okay. Tonight was the last night of the volcano at the Mirage, and I videotaped that. And if you'd like it, I'd be more than happy to send it to you.

It's in a couple of videos, and I think you'll really be impressed. Wait, what is it? Wait, I heard you say you took something.

What did you take? The last video of the volcano eruption. Got you. So if you'd like it, I can get it over to you, if you're interested. That's so kind of you. What would you like me to do with it? Well, you can watch it and share it with your family.

Oh, gotcha. And if you like it, you can put that on one of your YouTube. It is pretty cool. Yeah, well, I would love to put it up on YouTube, but as I was just saying, I actually don't have the capability to put any videos up on YouTube right now.

Producer Jay took that with him, and I have to wait until I can get it back. Well, I'd like to get it over to you. Are you on social media? You can always send it on social.

Yeah, no, I'm not, because I can't see that well. I like that. I like that you refuse. You eschew social media. Yeah, I wish I could, but I can't get on that. What about email? I can email it to you. Nice. That sounds good. And what's your email address again?

Yeah, right. Like I'm going to be saying my email address over live radio on a national network. Well, can you put me on hold and then send it to me? Colton would be happy to take your email address, and then I'll send you one and you can reply with it. That would be great.

I'd appreciate that. Okay. Did you really expect me to answer and give you my email address right here on the radio? Not over the phone, of course not. No. What's your email address again? I'm pretty sure that's what you asked me. No, I didn't mean to not give it to me right now. I'm not dead dumb.

I try not to be, but it's pretty cool. This was the last night of the barrage. There's no more. I like it. It's all gone.

I love that you're right in the middle of all this history. Did you hear that some of the baseball players that were interviewed at the All-Star game think moving to Vegas is a really bad idea? Moving the A's to Vegas is a really bad idea. Why? For what reason would it be bad?

It's certainly not bad for financial reasons. You know, here's what I think after seeing where the stadium is going up. For people who don't know, it's going to go on the side of the old Tropicana and it's at the south end of the strip. And within a mile, you and I talked about this, within a mile there are five stadiums. Five stadiums if that baseball stadium goes up. That is insane when it comes to traffic and when it comes to just congestion.

And I have the answer for that. It's called hotels. That's what the hotels want, so that's what the hotels get. But you don't think it will impact that south end of the strip even more so?

It was pretty crazy when we were there for Super Bowl week. Absolutely it will impact it, but the hotels don't care about that. They don't care. They want the stadium right near the strip so that they can fill up their rooms.

That's why. They don't care about traffic and what kind of impact. They care less about it. All they want is getting close to the stadium and that way they can get more people to come and get their rooms. And just like you got a basketball stadium that's being built as we speak, a basketball stadium being built right next to Fountain Blue on the strip.

So everything is on the strip because that's what the hotels want. Gotcha. So when you say there's a new basketball arena, is that for the Aces or is that for somebody else?

It's for a professional basketball team. That's all I know. Gotcha. They're going to lure one of those as well. Yeah. And there's rumors that LeBron James has something to do with that. That's what I'm hearing. Well rumors. We got to be careful about our rumors. Yes. As I said, it's just a rumor.

But that's what's floating out about here. He wants a basketball team and he wants Vegas. So that's all I know. Alright. Well generally what LeBron James wants, LeBron James gets as we know.

Yes, he does. I appreciate that tip. Alright, Chicago Johnny. Well, I don't even know how to put you on hold.

Maybe I'll try this button. Hold. Oh, never mind. Colton did it for me. So you can talk to Colton.

Just make sure you know his name is Colton. It's After Hours with Amy Lawrence. Yeah, reading this article. It's actually everywhere. But the version that I was reading was in the, I think it was the L.A. Times and the Los Angeles Times. And the idea is that, you know, the Oakland A's are in their final few weeks as a baseball franchise. They're going to be in Sacramento for a handful of years. And after that are supposed to be moving to Las Vegas. Now we know what Oakland fans think of the idea.

This is another team that they've lost or that they will have lost. But when you're talking about Nevada and the officials in Las Vegas, they're thrilled. They're getting 380 million dollars in public funding. At least that's what's been authorized. So the people in Vegas are paying for it. The people, taxes, that kind of stuff are paying for it, which means it doesn't have to be privately funded.

Instead, it's kind of this joint effort. And Las Vegas does produce a lot of baseball players. It's more and more a place where a lot of them are living. Bryce Harper is from Vegas.

He talks about that and how great it is a place to live. But there have been, I don't want to say a poll necessarily, but just a question that was thrown out there at the All-Star game. To different guys around the league asking them whether or not they believe a baseball franchise will succeed in Vegas. And this is coming from a bunch of guys who either make Vegas their home or from Vegas. And you're hearing things like terrible idea that comes from Arizona Diamondbacks closer policy walled. The abject disaster is another term that he used. He actually talked about how he felt like that public funding could be better used in other ways. Bryce Harper, he's actually, as far as he'll go, is to say that he's unsure if the A's will succeed in Las Vegas. And actually said that he would prefer an expansion team. Again, this is coming from the LA Times. And he kind of pointed to the Golden Knights and just sad about the Oakland fan base losing its team with all the tradition.

He mentions the green and the yellow, which I thought was interesting. And a few of the great pitchers who've gone through there. He actually says, and this is Bryce Harper to the LA Times, quote, I see it in Oakland, I don't see it in Vegas.

I think it was another player that kind of pushed back on that. Tommy Pham, I think, and he was talking about how the same things were said before the Golden Knights landed there, that it wouldn't work and look at how well Vegas not only absorbed the Golden Knights, but also adopted them. And because it was a startup franchise and because they had success right off the top, now the Golden Knights are all the rage in Las Vegas and on the strip. So, yeah, there definitely will be a novelty initially where this baseball team is concerned. And the build up to it, if it does take three or four years for them to get the stadium and the facilities built. And for the team to then move from Sacramento, which I think kind of sucks, too, because Oakland fans are losing their team prematurely. But if you have this build up over three or four years and the excitement generated by Vegas itself, but also the PR machine of Major League Baseball, there will be a novelty.

And what have we seen with the Raiders or even with the Rams and the Chargers? Fans of other teams who are playing in Vegas or playing in LA, they will follow their teams there, partly because of the weather. So depending upon where these fans are coming from, but also because they're two cities that are a lot of fun to visit. Vegas is one of those places where there's something for everyone. If you don't mind dealing with the influx of people and traffic and all that jazz, well, there's something for everyone.

And a lot of it is relatively accessible if you stay in a hotel on the strip. So I do think that there will be a boost there. It will be one of those novelties, a honeymoon period, if you will.

I know something about that, a little bit something about that. But then I wonder if they don't win. If Oakland, sorry, if the A's are not competitive and they don't win, how quickly will that die down? Like the Chargers in Los Angeles, right? They moved to Los Angeles. They left San Diego. The fan base was angry about it. It seemed like a move that was made not for the fans, but for money, similar to this one. And the Chargers don't get a lot of support in L.A., not to mention they're competing with the Rams and it's really their home, SoFi Stadium.

So yeah, we'll have to see how it plays out, but we're still a few years away. The Sacramento A's is going to sound interesting. Okay, I went a little long looking for your top five sports. You can find me on Twix, ALaw Radio, on our Facebook page too. You can send a few questions for Ask Amy Anything. We'll see if we can pull one out of our butts or something like that.

Member NYSE SIPC. I genuinely was embarrassed for the national anthem singer from Monday night. And I am no less embarrassed for her now. Although, I guess I feel a little sorrier for her now.

This was a conversation we had 24 hours ago. We played for you even more of the anthem. And that doesn't include the part where she forgot the words or got the words wrong. And then the revelation on Monday, Tuesday.

Sorry, my days get all messed up when I'm off my schedule. The revelation on Tuesday that she went out onto the field to perform the anthem while she was intoxicated. In her words, drunk. Which sucks because that's what people are going to remember of her. Like I said, it's a mixture of pity, feeling sorry for her. But also, I do not know how anyone around her who cared for her at all can let her walk out there like that.

Ingrid Andress is her name. And forever, she will be associated with this derby anthem that was so horrific, horrific. She did apologize. I actually don't even know if I were her and in her shoes, I don't know that I would admit that that's what was happening with me.

I think I would just apologize for being off my game, so to speak. She is a Grammy nominated singer. Grammy nominated artist. It's not like she has no talent. Which is what I said to you last night. Now, I'd never heard of her before.

But you don't get nominated for a Grammy four times without having some kind of talent. It's unfortunate that that's how she represented herself. And I do hope that she gets help.

But in retrospect, I don't think I would have revealed that I was intoxicated. I think I would have just gone ahead and faded into my rehab, which is what she says she's going to do. She says she's apologizing because she loves the country so much, and that was her last night. And then she went on to say that she is checking into rehab The way that she put it is, I'll let you know how it goes.

I hear it's super fun. Let's hope she's a little more serious about it when she actually gets there. Yeah, I'm not quite sure. I think me, and I cannot remember who was on the call last night for the home run derby, but I just remember, I was like, oh, she's drunk. She's hammered. Did you think that really?

Yes, 2,000%. You could just see the way her head was bopping. I'm like, oh, she's drunk. And then you hear the comments that the broadcaster, I'm not sure who was on the call for the home run derby.

He goes, someone started off the night while I'm like, yeah, we agree. Whoever was on the call thought the same thing. The way I always perceived it is that he thought she had a little too many as well going on to the mic. Who lets her go out there and sing like that if she is actually intoxicated? Somebody is talking to her to direct her out to the field. Somebody is with her, whether there's a green room or she's underneath the stadium or she's standing there on the field, somebody has to know. Because she didn't show up at the stadium, presumably, didn't show up at the stadium with beer in hand, right? So either she drank while she was there or she showed up drunk. But either way, she'd probably been there for a long time before she sang.

I bet there was an error check as well earlier in the day. Somebody had to see her drinking, if that's actually the case. Now, if it's not the case, although Colton seems to think that it was pretty obvious, I'm not great at spotting that kind of stuff. And I think the best way for me to ever know is just to smell it.

I have a very keen sense of smell, so that would be what I would notice first. I just don't know how anybody lets her walk out there, if that is the case. If you're someone from the Rangers or Globe Life Field or Major League Baseball, this is what you don't want to happen. This was embarrassing for her, for the game, for the broadcast. So at the very least, you say, never mind, we'll have an instrumental backup that will play off someone's phone.

They have a world-class sound system in the stadium. All you have to do is go to YouTube and dial up, I don't care, play Whitney Houston's version of the national anthem over the loudspeaker. Anything that you could have done in order to preserve her dignity, but also to not have that debacle, that was awful. And I don't know how many people feel sorry for her, I just am kind of a sap when it comes to that. But maybe this is just her way of explaining it, justifying it.

Maybe it's not even true, although Colton seems to think it was true, and maybe the rehab part isn't true. That was just something she tacked on to the end. I think maybe she's trying to justify it. I really hope that she does get her help, but all of it was so cringe-worthy. It was. I hate this conversation.

Yeah, I do too. It was awful. Somebody's got to be responsible. She had to have an agent there.

She had to have someone who was walking her out to the field. How do you let that go? I don't want to make light of the situation because of what we now know, because it seems that she has a problem. But can you imagine going into the microphone and just thinking to yourself, sober up, sober up, sober up. Oh, sake. I just can't imagine.

No. Just can't imagine just trying to have that pep talk of yourself, sober up for the next two minutes so you can just continue cranking. We also have to big shout-outs to the players out there. The only one that seemed on camera was Alec Boehm, that kind of smirked, oh my goodness. And he was trying to keep his head down. You noticed he had his head down so that he wouldn't laugh. Tip your cap to them because, I mean, I like pictures with that performance yesterday.

I was like, oh, this picture of LeBron James, Steph Curry dream. I'm like, all those guys just busting out laughing, like, couldn't help themselves. And I was like, I can't believe none of them are fazed.

They're all just sitting there just biting their tongue and acting like they don't know what's going on here. Yeah, just awful. But Cody Johnson crushed it before the All-Star Game on Tuesday evening. He was terrific. So, he's another country singer, a Texas native. He redeemed the All-Star Game at the event. So, whether or not Ingrid Andress was telling the truth, and she actually is going to rehab, I still think it's not just her failure and her mistake. It's also whoever let her out there on the field and thought it was a good idea.

Yeah, just kind of rough. But from now on, when you Google her name, that's what comes up. Never goes away once it's on the Internet.

All right, we're looking for your top five sports. And also, I don't know if anyone's going to send me some questions. I guess I've seen a few. Might do an impromptu Ask Amy Anything if we get to it next hour. It is our hump show, middle show of the work week.

Especially on the hump show, there are times when I just feel a little bit crazy. And it is a good thing that I am here, enclosed in my studio. And, well, there used to be padded walls. They're not anymore. There's some kind of a weird, almost corkboard, if you will.

Some paneling, some corkboard. Every few years, the studio set up changes when, well, it used to be because we had a couple of shows that were on TV. I don't believe there are any shows on TV anymore. I think it's just straight YouTube now for the Infinity Sports Network. But there are a couple of shows that have had a TV presence in the past. And so for that reason, the studio was decorated for them.

It doesn't matter that the rest of us use the studio as well. What used to be the case, and I miss it so much, when we first got here, the first two years of the network, we had a wall of windows behind us. It was amazing. And you could put down these large blinds. I think they were automated.

And they would go up or down based on if you wanted the light or if you wanted it to be dark for TV purposes. But they took out those windows when they decorated the studio for, I think it was back when Doug Gottlieb was here on the network. And now he's the coach of the Green Bay men's basketball team. Oh, wow, things change in now nearly 12 years of being on the air. I never thought in my entire life that I would be at one place for 12 years. It was long enough to do eight years at my previous network. But this is 12 years full time here at the network previously known as CBS Sports Radio.

It's After Hours with Amy Lawrence. We've had that name the entire time. We're asking you to rank your top five favorite sports. And I like the variety that we're getting. I got to be honest, I thought I would see a little more football. I do know that our largest audiences of the entire year are during football season. So whether or not people would tab it as their favorite sport between fantasy football and betting, but also the fact that the NFL really drives the bus, fans in Maine care about what's happening with the team in Arizona. Although these Cardinals are kind of putrid.

They have been. And fans in Seattle care about what's happening with the teams in Florida. It really is a sport that is uniquely ours in the United States as much as Roger Goodell would like to farm it out. And it's also one that we live, breathe, eat, sleep and let's hope not die with during the course of the season. Fans have become more and more informed. It's all access now with social media. Everything to the, you know, to the nth degree when it comes to the NFL, which is why even training camps and the start of them are a much bigger deal than they were back when I was first getting into the business.

Our phone number is 855-212-4227. Next hour, you'll hear from Patrick Mahomes as the Chiefs kick off their three-peat attempt. But also, he's really highlighting how rough the beginning of last season was. You may recall that it was Christmas Day. I think it was Christmas Day or Christmas Eve when they lost to the Raiders. And the Raiders pointed to that as just this big moment for their franchise, for Antonio Pierce, and how it was going to change their course. And they'd finally gotten the best of the Chiefs. Instead, the Chiefs didn't lose again on their way to another Super Bowl. So, it really was a turning point for Kansas City instead.

So, Patrick Mahomes, by the way, he's got, at training camp, he's got a special form of entertainment when he needs to unwind. Also, we've got Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods on the eve of the Open Championship, too, as we get to it. But we want to highlight a little bit about the All-Star Game.

I know we were talking about the National Anthems, but that's, yeah, that's ancillary. We got the matchup we wanted between Paul Skeans and Aaron Judge. And the way it played out, as Paul started, 22-year-old Pirates rookie, the way it played out is he went to a battle. He battled against Juan Soto, who was hitting in the three spot, Aaron Judge's teammate. Hitting in the three spot and he is able to work a walk. I think it was a seven-pitch walk. And Soto actually talked about the fact, and you probably saw him, if you were watching the broadcast, motion to Aaron Judge and say, there I got you, or now it's your turn, I gave you an opportunity. Soto admits that he was really trying to extend the at-bat and to make sure that Judge had the opportunity to face Paul Skeans himself. Before facing him, yeah, definitely, I was trying to take him deep, though. But definitely after two strikes, I was trying to work that out because I wanted to make sure he faced him, too.

So I got my job done. Unfortunately, we only got one pitch. I think the announcers were still talking about this matchup that we covet. And what happened was Aaron Judge swings at the first pitch. He hits a, well, he kind of hits a really high grounder.

It slams into the infield and bounces up in the air. So it ended up being a fielder's choice because Soto was on base. But, yeah, it wasn't the extended matchup, and it wasn't what we were hoping for. But we did get Paul Skeans against Aaron Judge, and Aaron had raved about him previously.

As for Skeans himself, he plays it pretty cool. But apparently he had a couple of seconds there where he was pretty overwhelmed by the moment. I don't think I blacked out when I was out there, but I was pretty close. It was cool to be on that mound.

But just being able to share this with my family and have them out here and just being able to experience it, I don't know that there's one moment because, I mean, it was two days packed with moments. And he also talked about how he stuck around for the entire game. He was first in the dugout for a few innings, meaning he got to see Otani smash that home run that initially put the National League ahead 3-0. And then he also went underneath and was eating with a couple of pitchers, and he mentioned some veterans that he felt like he wanted to pick their brains. And how often is this opportunity going to come around? He did say once a year. So he plans on being a perennial All-Star. It was neat to see just the beginning of Paul Skeans and his All-Star career and how cool it was to have him start.

It's After Hours with Amy Lawrence. Listen as Selenia tells us why she chose to vaccinate her daughter. I definitely felt like the pros far outweighed the cons, the diseases that I am protecting my child against.

They're still here, and at the end of the day, it's my job as a mother to keep my child safe. Talk to your child's doctor and learn more at WhyVaccines.com. Brought to you by Merck. The Meat Eater Outdoor Cookbook by Steven Rinella is available now. Drink responsibly. From Newport, Chicago, Illinois. It's got to be Tide-free and gentle.
