Christ has paid for your sin in full.
So God in His righteousness will never require your payment Yeah. that is already Been cleared. Pastor, author, and Bible teacher Alan Wright. His song is not reserved. For those that are the sparkling and wonderful and righteous few.

More on this later in the program. But right now. Let's get started with today's teaching. Here is Pastor Alan Wright. This is a delightful thing for a two-year-old because you can be as messy as you want.
and then lick your fingers, you know, and it's just perfect. The whole thing was kind of comical because Ann's grandmother name is Nana Puddin. And Mia calls her pudding for short. And so when we said, you're going to paint with Putin, It was double on Padre. It was just kind of a tricky thing.
But I was just watching Ann over there with all her years of teaching children, now with her own granddaughter and saying, and you can make this. And Mia said, I'm making a cloud, and watching them interact. And I just, at some moment, I just sat back. and watched in the quiet. And I was thinking about That story from Sam Storms and I thought what I'm doing right now, this is I'm enjoying my wife.
I'm not saying anything, but I'm enjoying her. Beloved? God enjoys you. Maybe he just sometimes gets quiet. in his love for you.
Because he enjoys the sight of you. And sometimes he just is Erupting in Big songs, just happy songs over you, like a praise song, like just a happy song. I like to sit on play my guitar and just... Put Mia's name in the songs, and she likes that. And I've noticed Ann.
So Sings right much around the house, and she'll sometimes be with Mia, and she'll just start singing about ordinary things. I was watching her the other night, she was making a sandwich for Mia, and she burst forth into song. I'm like, What? And uh, yeah, she's like, Mia's gonna get a grilled cheese, me is gonna get a grilled cheese, me is going to get a grilled cheese, and it's gonna be so yummy, you know. And I'm like, I was thinking, is God like that?
Did he just he just Have jubilant songs to sing over you. Lullabies and jubilant expression, Sam Storms. Says When God thinks about you, his child, his heart explodes in glad celebration. Listen to this. Please believe it.
There is divine glee and jubilation beyond words when the Almighty God ponders his own. This song of God If we can hear it, it comforts us. It's healing us, it's shaping our identity, and it's alluring us. is drawing us unto God. God's not drawing you in so much by Cracking a whip.
as he is singing a song. But If you can hear it, it's so beautiful that you just want to get very near it. I've told you before about the The myth of the sirens and how Odysseus, on his way back from the Trojan War, had been advised. That you need to take great precaution in going by the island of the sirens, who posed as beautiful. Women with these gorgeous songs, but they're actually these demon-like creatures that just wanted to kill the sailors.
And so he. Heeding the advice, Odysseus had his sailors put wax in their ears so they couldn't hear the sirens' songs. But Odysseus himself said he wanted to hear it, but he said, Strap me to the mast. and leave me shackled there, no matter what I say to you. And they sailed by, and Odysseus found the songs were even more beautiful than he thought, and he wanted to go to them, but he was strapped to the mast, And so he couldn't go, and they sailed successfully by.
But there's another story as well. about someone traveling by and as uh this other figure King Jason it is, famous for his pursuit of the golden fleece. He learns about the sirens but decides a different approach. That he will, instead of putting wax in their ears or strapping himself to a mast, They bring along Orpheus. who is the best musician in the world.
And the instructions were, Orpheus, when you hear the siren's song, You begin to play and sing. And so it was that the sailors heard a more beautiful song from Orpheus than the sirens, and they weren't tempted to leave the ship and go to the island. Christian life and transformation and progress and holiness and overcoming temptation is not so much related to us strapping ourselves to a mast and living under a heavy weight of self-will and law as it is having finally heard the more beautiful song. You get your heart captured by a transcendent sound. Yes.
And idols lose their power. Other temptations lose their allure. Oh, the song of God. It's the most beautiful you could ever hear. He's singing over you.
If you're going to Receive this song, it's going to start coming out from you also. You know, it's like what goes in us is what we have to give. When we were babysitting, I had Mia because we were going to the playground. I was holding her hand, and we got this. terrain, she's trying to go fast and I'm pretty sure she was going to fall.
I said, watch your step, me uh. We're holding the hand. Then we got right near the playground. We're still holding hands. The terrain changed again, and she looked at me.
She said, Watch your step, Daba. The tables turn on you. What goes in you is what's there to bring back out of you. And so this song is transformational to us, but it flows through us like to the world. If you're going to believe that this is the way, That Zephaniah's word is true.
Then you need to believe each piece of this. Again, look at verse 16. That day it shall be said to Jerusalem: Fear not, O Zion, let not your hands grow weak. Don't let all the courage and energy drain out of you right now. And here's why.
Look at verse 15. These are the four things. The Lord has taken away the judgments against you. If you're new to the gospel, This is at the whole heart of what makes the good news good. is that we We're all born in sin and therefore I know some things in our lives rebellion is more egregious than others, but we're all in the same category.
We're all born in sin. And the Bible calls that a great distance from God, an enmity with God. And if there's going to be justice, if God's just, and there's going to be any justice, that means simply that Evil is punished and good is rewarded, but if none of us is all good, then. It leaves us all with judgment over our lives. And Christ came for this explicit reason.
The love of God, the love and the heart of God propelled him with his face resolutely set to Jerusalem to go and take the judgment for you. He who knew no sin to become your sin, so that we who had sinned so much would be. credited with the very righteousness of Christ.
So that when you're in Christ, what it means is you are not under the judgment of God. Hallelujah. And this is what Zephaniah prophesied. The Lord You didn't take it away. The Lord has taken away his judgments.
You couldn't do it. You couldn't be good enough. You couldn't pay a big enough price. But it is a reality for anyone who's in Christ. It's like if you once had a big debt and now it's been paid, the debt's not there.
So there's no point in speaking of the debt anymore. The gavel has fallen. And the sound has been heard from heaven of every Christian's life. Not guilty, justified. Case over.
You must believe this if you're going to hear the song of God. Mm. That's Alan Wright. And we'll have more teaching in a moment from today's important series. Do you ever feel like your heart just can't rest?
Like no matter how much you try, peace always seems just out of reach.

Today's teaching now continues. Here once again is Alan Wright. And Secondly, you have to believe this. He's cleared away your enemies. We still have.
An enemy who prowls like a lion seeking to devour. We still have. a tempter. But for the Christian... Everything has changed.
Because now the judgment's not against you. But judgment has has landed against the enemy. It means the victory has been secured. And that the accusations of Satan in all of hell. are now impotent against the believer.
Because we can't be accused of deserving condemnation because. The judgment has already come upon Christ, and we're free from it, and therefore we are accepted in the beloved. And it clears away this barrage of temptation and ugly voice from hell that's telling us that because we don't measure up, that we can't be accepted and we must be judged. There is, therefore, now no condemnation for those who are in Christ. And the power of the gospel has dismantled the stronghold of the enemy and torn down that fortress.
And we who live by the sound of the gospel are the ones who now have authority in the name of Jesus. I'm saying the enemy will try to sing to you. But the song is invalid. For the Christian. And the third thing that he prophesied, you need to believe if you're going to really receive this song.
Is the Lord The king of Israel. is in your midst. They're not all from the distance. He's close. He holds you.
The Holy Spirit dwells in you. He wants to be with you. And at verse 17, This Lord your God who's in your midst, You gotta believe this. He is a mighty one. It's like Zephaniah is just prophesying the whole gospel.
That your judgments are taken away. The enemy's been defeated. The Lord abides in you forever. And he gives you power. Power in the Holy Spirit.
I think this is how we open up our spiritual ears to begin to hear Here's song. His beautiful songs. and his jubilant praise. Because he loves you. Like that.
Joey Preston, who's part of our Renalda family and a good long-term friend, has written a parable. And I love it. Let your imagination go there with them. And he writes: It was fall 1954. Aurelius Preston, known as Real to family and friends, was retiring from Ford Motor Company.
He had been their lead design engineer, master mechanic, and lead. toolman for 30 years. loved and respected by management co-workers. Subordinates. Uncle Riel walked into the massive assembly room on his last day of work at the cake and ice cream gathering.
The president of Ford Motor Company took the podium and did something the business had never done before or since. gave real the first 1954 Thunderbird to come off the production line. The car was Reel's baby. He was the lead on the design team. He created parts and systems that did not exist.
in order to make the car the icon it became. Rio created the 54 T-Bird. With tears of humility, appreciation, and pride, he left the plant that day with his tea bird. A few weeks later, he and his wife had loaded up the car and Driven to visit relatives after settling in, got up early the first morning, made a cup of coffee, stepped out on the porch, and To his horror, realized the car was gone. All the reports, all the searches were made, stolen sometime during the night.
was gone. Searches and reports availed nothing. 12 years later. Reels working In a friend's car in a garage. His wife's inside washing some clothes.
Life, retirement, enjoying friends. family. It all continued since the theft, but This day a car pulled into the driveway. It was uh Real's two sons and they had an announcement for him. They wanted to take them with them.
They said the the T-bird has been found. And uh they uh the three men pulled up to where the old car had been abandoned at the edge of a wheat field for more than a decade and The boys were worried would the condition of the car be more than their elderly father could handle. And the father said, don't stop here, pull up right there next to it. With some concern, they pulled up to the car. The old man grabbed a piece of cardboard he brought along.
He walked up to his prized possession. The tires were rotted off. The body was rusting. The interior had been ransacked and was rotting due to the large hole in the windshield. There was a rat's nest in the back seat, leaves, sticks, dirt, and exposed seat springs.
But taking the cardboard, laying it on the driver's seat, the old man sat down and quietly looked. His sons were standing beside him and could only see a portion of his profile as he looked toward the passenger seat. They saw a tear trickle down their dad's cheek. Afraid the sadness was too much for him to bear, the oldest son laid his hand on his dad's shoulder. You okay, pops?
What happened next surprised them. The father looked up at his sons. His face was beaming. Tears of obvious joy streamed down his face. I've got it back!
It's mine again. The old man all but blubbered. But, Dad, it's. Useless, it's in such bad shape. How could you be happy?
I created it, he said. I can remake it into what I always intended it to be as long as I'm reunited with it. I can enjoy it. As long as I'm reunited, I can enjoy it. Beloved of God, No matter how far how far Yeah.
Have felt. I'm talking about The kudzu vines of life. I'm talking about the stuff that's entangled us. And the rest. And the rot.
And the decay. Your Father in heaven is undeterred. He just want you. His song is not reserved. For those that are the sparkling And wonderful.
and righteous few. His song is for every child of his. He is consumed with his love for you. That's the zeal that eats him up. For you, child of God.
I was thinking about Rayleigh. And She comes into the world and things aren't working in her digestive, and they got to go in there and do all this surgery. And fix her up. Do you think that these parents and grandparents Loved her less. Because she wasn't perfect.
If anything, you love her more. You long for her more. You seemed overheard. All the more.
So what in your life? could repel God. when he loves you like That May you be able to open up your spiritual ears. And through Zephaniah's prophecy, Child of God. Hear a new song.
God song. over your life.
Sometimes a lullaby to comfort you in the hardest times. and sometimes just jubilant praise. because he's really happy to see you. When you hear that song You know, take away the troubles of your heart. And that's the gospel.

That song can come in many forms, and that's exciting to know that God likes us, not just loves us, but likes us that much.
Well, maybe here's a takeaway for you today, for every listener: the prophecy of Zephaniah: He will exult over you with loud singing.
So sometimes it's a lullaball, and sometimes it's just. This is an excited heavenly Father who takes such joy in you that he really is rejoicing over you. If you've never had someone who rejoiced over you exceedingly, then you can know this for sure. God your Father does. And I think that changes us.
I think that that kind of. Awareness of that sort of love, it changes us and is part of the way that we experience Jesus' own untroubled heart. Our buddy Mark Lowry says: if God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it. Amen. Thanks for listening today.
