The reality of evil and the horrors of sin are depicted in the book of Daniel, where four beasts symbolize the terror of the four kingdoms that have arisen or will arise. However, God is fully aware of what is taking place in his world and will ultimately deliver forth a death sentence to the evil kingdoms. The story doesn't end there, as Christ, the exalted Son of Man, is depicted as the one who will stand before God and not be consumed. He is the perfect man, the God-man, Christ Jesus, who has come forth with grace and compassion, healing the paralytic and forgiving sins. The ascension of Christ is a crucial doctrine, as it declares that Jesus is reigning and will forevermore. The Holy Spirit rests upon the church, empowering them to be witnesses to Christ and to serve him faithfully forever and ever.
