Guilt is a form of emotional pain that can stem from sin, past experiences, or the expectations of others. It can lead to feelings of unworthiness, shame, and self-doubt, causing individuals to doubt God's love and their own worthiness. Guilty feelings can also manifest as compulsive behavior, such as overeating or overworking, and can ultimately lead to depression and even suicidal thoughts. However, guilt can be overcome through acknowledging and identifying its source, confessing and repenting of sin, and choosing to walk in obedience to God.
