The authority of the Bible is a question of Christology, and Jesus' view of Scripture is crucial in determining its trustworthiness. While liberal scholars question the reliability of the Bible, Jesus' teachings on the Bible are clear: it is the Word of God, inspired, and infallible. The problem of question begging arises when we rely solely on the Bible to understand Jesus' view of Scripture, but by examining the historical validation of the New Testament, we can conclude that it is basically reliable. Jesus' teachings on the Bible demonstrate his acceptance of the prevailing Jewish view of Scripture, and his view of inspiration can be called jot and tittle inspiration, down to the commas, the periods, the crossing, the Ts, and the dotting of the Is.
