He never changed his warning, even when ridiculed in the press and attacked by his own party members, and this self-belief was a key aspect of his career. Churchill's physical and moral courage were evident throughout his life, including his travels during the Second World War, where he traveled 110,000 miles outside the UK, often within the radius of the Luftwaffe.
