We can't use siren sound effects on the radio so we'll use other equally jarring sound effects to get your attention. Like telling you that whether you drive a little over the speed limit or a lot you can crash just the same. You could hurt yourself or worse others. I'm at the scene of the collision. And the damage you cause will be beyond repair. See we didn't have to use crash or siren sounds after all. Speeding catches up with you.

Brought to you by NHTSA. This is the Rich Eisen Show. Show. Show.

Wow man. What's up? Hey man I've been waiting so long the gummies have kicked in. Live from the Rich Eisen Show studio in Los Angeles. When uh Lenny first called in he was taking the bar exam then the gummies kicked in and the Buccaneers are gonna go 20-0. Earlier on the show Bucks running back Rashad White founder of Sharp Football Analysis Warren Sharp. Still to come Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson. And now it's Rich Eisen. Hey everybody it's our number three of the Rich Eisen Show. Justin Jefferson is taking on his most difficult opponent of his career and it's called the 405 Freeway.

But I'm told he just like everything else he's gonna beat it. Like it's like you know what it is every day on the four and anybody out there listening to this show taking in the show wondering what is it like to uh to navigate the 405 Freeway every day. It's like uh fourth and 18 in Buffalo you know what I mean? Like press man coverage.

And unless you have the ability to jump up and just grab a football with one hand and bring it in and maintain control throughout the catch you're losing to the 405 Freeway. That's how Justin Jefferson's making it here. Does everyone understand the analogy now?

We're getting it vivid enough? We're trying to move behind the airport to avoid taking the 405 to work. Is that right? There you go.

That's that's this photograph right here that's what it's like to go through the 405 every day. By the way the guy wearing number 18 caught that. That's correct.

That doesn't make any sense. The guy in the white caught that ball. What a catch. Did you not know that Jay?

No I was a little yeah off there. What a catch. By the way Joe Davis is on the call. He was here in June. Hey.

Now the man who made the catch is here in July. Boom. It's coming up. Boom. Look at us. That's how we're rolling today on this program. Boom. That's what we do.

There you go. So he's about to join us. Phone lines are lit and if you missed any of the first two hours don't worry we re-air on the Roku channel every day once we're done. Our number one Rashad White joined us from the Buccaneers.

Warren Sharp with some his sharp football analysis. A lot of fun that we had with our top five list as well. If you missed any of the first two hours again we re-air.

There's also our podcast all three hours wherever you get your podcasts and we appreciate that. Yes. Klay Thompson was introduced today as a Dallas Maverick. Words I never thought I would say into this microphone but these are the days that we're in right now. That's gonna be weird. He is a Dallas Maverick. This is what he had to say about joining the Mavericks and breaking up the if you will big three in Golden State.

Probably a little disappointed at first but then as time goes on you have a lot of time to reflect and you realize what you did. They can't take that away from you as far as the championships or I mean records are meant to be broken but the impact you have on community and all that that will forever live and sometimes you know breakups are necessary to do what's right and I'm not the first athlete in the NBA to go through this. I did grow up in Portland and I remember when Scottie Pippen came to the Blazers that was like the biggest day of my life and I'm not saying I'm Scottie but they were they were right there against the Lakers almost on a chip so I take a lot of inspiration from past athletes and how their careers might have gone you know astray when they either left the team or joined a new team and some guys thrive and I look forward to just kind of being rejuvenated here and playing a lot a lot of good basketball left in the team basketball left in the tank. He is kind of a Scottie Pippen of that dynasty run don't you think? Interesting. By Curry's the Jordan and Draymond's the Horace Grant. That makes sense.

Or the Rotman. Yeah for sure. I think that's pretty funny. I was wondering who's gonna wear number 11 because Kyrie wears 11 and we know Klay wore 11 all those years it's going to be retired at Golden State. Klay knew number next year.

Probably so. Kyrie's changing. I don't think Kyrie would change if you would just if we're going to go down this rabbit hole wouldn't you think that that Klay wants a total fresh start totally new right I mean that just based on that sound bite as well.

I think you're right. And I sure hope there's a lot of them left in the tank because if the the splash brother Klay shows up in Dallas that'll be a lot of fun to watch next year. That's a complicated 16 trade too to get him to Dallas.

There's a lot of moving parts to make that happen. So Klay is now at Dallas Maverick and the question is is who's going to be the next repeat champion in the in the NBA or dynastic team in the NBA and Steph Curry told ESPN I think in a one-on-one with Malika Andrews the answer is nobody. That the way things go in the NBA these days that there will not that that the Golden State Warriors of Curry, Klay, Draymond and then the rest of the the time with Durant and prior to Durant Andre Iguodala right Harrison Barnes that that run that also finished up post Durant a couple years ago with a shocking NBA championship with Andrew Wiggins being at the forefront that these days are over. This is what Curry had to say.

I don't think so. I mean obviously defining a dynasty can take a lot of different looks but the reason you know to add on what coach just said like people thought this was over in 2019 when Klay tried to get back on defense with a messed up knee and we lost that series and then had a had a rough year that next year like 22 was an amazing championship because we defied the odds and kept things together and we were trying to maintain that for these last two so you think add that's you know 11 years of almost 12 years of championship relevancy we built around a certain core knowing what KD was you know for those four years as well so a long way to way of saying I don't think so just because it's very hard to keep things together in this league there's a lot more player movement me Klay and Draymond especially we complemented each other so well for so long we all brought something different to the table so we'll see records are meant to be broken dynasties come all different shapes and sizes so we'll see TJ I agree with Steph Curry don't you agree with Steph Curry I mean the stats say he's right right say he's right right we haven't seen it since he was the last team well back to back back to back and then having something that lasts you know 10 12 years over the span and have four championships in that time tough they went to six finals I'd have to agree with them I know you and I are probably in agreement but Chris what do you think here might be there's literally about to be a dynasty next year and the year after and the year after and the year after that like what are we talking about you can't pay two guys did you just talk about a 5p literally the history of the NBA is only dynasties uh so what does he mean there's never going to be another dynasty of course there is there of course dynasties are great for sports but there haven't been we were never going to see we were never going to see another dynasty in the NFL like the Patriots oh I'm sorry we're having one right now with the Chiefs like what this is just look at me ego talking oh come on man Steph Curry look at me ego those are words that are not normally associated with Steph Curry a lot of people have a thought of Steph that they don't really look at this guy I'm just saying come at the Celtics you best not miss it's not gonna happen they're literally bringing the whole team back for the next three years they're not gonna get another one there's aprons there's issues with aprons the first aprons and a second apron you're reading how the second apron really hamstrings you in the removes you can make aprons the team that he was on was the most luxury tax team in the history of the NBA so yeah that's how you that's how you keep a dynasty together and keep a team together for a long time you gotta have ownership willing to pay didn't we didn't we think that the that the Nuggets were going to be one of the that's what I said earlier like in this year things happen with the Nuggets but you can't say at the end of the series last year you didn't sit there and think man this nugget seems going to be a problem yokich even won MVP again and they still didn't win it guess what the Nuggets could win the title next year and now we're talking about a Denver dynasty Chris the thing that does kind of give you weight there the fact is the Nuggets did lose you know they lost Bruce Brown they lost a bunch of really key players you have it like Celtics are now loaded look Cormac it was at his aim like he was the very first free agent yeah that was signed the guy who's got more NBA finals points than Joellen oh my god so you would take him in a in an open draft open gym you would take Luke over I'd rather take the guy with the championship okay bet I hope my team's playing yours in well listen this guy as we all know is riding high and as a Michigan Wolverine you're riding I'm riding high and so I appreciate him riding as high as he's doing right guys there were five-year-old kids in Boston who had never seen a parade bleep them kids well I mean and again you see you see Jalen Brown becoming what he's become and you see Jason Tatum and you know Jeru Holliday becoming who he has become and Porzingis doing what he's doing and Horford's coming back and all of that and then there's the fact that there's no question in my mind a future Boston Celtic his name is Cooper Flagg how are they going to get Cooper Flagg just I mean if he was born if there was anybody born to be a Boston Celtic it kind of feels like it's Cooper Flagg how could you get him possibly and I think Team USA already knows that so they decided to give Jeru Holliday as close a look at Cooper Flagg as he possibly could get in a scrimmage Cooper Flagg made everyone look foolish yesterday you check and so there's that so like what's wilder no more what's hold on what's a wilder idea right no more dynasties in the NBA because of the way things are the player movement in the NBA Paul George is just like you know the richest owner in in the NBA arguably the richest owner in professional sports one of the richest Americans and human beings on the planet even he's like that's too rich for my blood let Paul George is let him go to Philadelphia if there's anybody out there who could basically say I don't care about aprons it's him yes and he cares about an apron all right that's the point that Curry's making that it's difficult to keep a team together and that's how dynasties are made is he keep a team together and so on and so forth what's crazier no more dynasties or Cooper Flagg is going to be the next great thing in the NBA like people are saying he is just going to light up Duke and he's going to be the next great Duke might go undefeated this year there you go there you have it they might uh but the next great thing so he'd have to be better than Anthony Edwards he'd have to be who by the way is the number one option on Team USA I heard according to Anthony Edwards is that the greatest sound bite or what right because if you don't think you're the best player then what are you doing you're never going to be great by the way hold on to these speaking into existence here's here here it is here's the Anthony Edwards sound bite well done well done Hoskins what do you got yeah I just go out there to be myself um shoot my shots uh play defense and you know they got to get in to play around me they've got to fit and figure out a play around me fit in hey LeBron why don't you fit in we all should have the confidence of a 22 year old Anthony oh my god if I had Anthony Edwards confidence my god I'd be walking on the moon right now like you'd be using the 405 not the road behind the airport oh probably so well that has nothing to do the confidence the 405 can break the most confident it can break anybody but let me ask you guys something if we take a look at this roster and we're really honest with ourselves as of today as of right now how many of these guys are technically better than Anthony like is Steph Curry better to oh we're gonna go there than Ant Edwards I don't I'm asking the question I'm just I'm literally are we really going there is Bam Adebayo today this guy is he's legitimately saying is Anthony Edwards the number one option on Team USA going into the Olympics I'm trying to see what Ant sees so I'm looking at the roster and I'm Chris Chris Durant the most decorated Olympian well that would be in the history of Team USA basketball isn't that mellow uh no uh winner not anymore has three gold not about a point scored is Durant okay about say mellow has three four gold yeah I mean look it's Drew Holliday better than that no Jason Tatum you there's an argument to be made Kawhi look I love Kawhi but as at this stage in this career maybe not Bam Adebayo no Booker no Curry I mean you make the argument Anthony Davis no I mean look he's wait Anthony Davis isn't a more a better option for you than Anthony Edwards today better player right now as of 11 13 come on Anthony Davis had a really awesome season come on come on I know the Lakers didn't perform well and it's really good come on come on guys I'm just saying like I'm as big an Anthony Edwards fan as anyone else I can't believe we're really going down this road it must be July because he said it so now we got to follow up and ask ourselves does he have a point he's in the starting five right maybe I think he's in the starting five all right let's take a phone call here uh before Justin Jefferson joins us I'm told he has in fact beaten the 405 freeway as we knew he would many men um Al and Dallas let's get Al on here what's up Al no line two line two line two what's up Al gentlemen what's going on a long time hope everybody's having a great summer we are what's on your mind Al you're watching the hard knocks you're watching it I am I am it's great it's great uh I I am I'm really enjoying it um I think the second one's out today right or it's tonight yeah that'll be fun yeah I'll be I'll be watching it it's great I wanted to do the win-loss game for the Giants okay you really do I just wanted to say one thing okay um if take if day if day gumming was was not going to impact you uh you definitely need to 405 it and when you're on the van wick because I'm telling you something Richard I was in New York a couple weeks ago the traffic in New York is as bad as it's ever been no kidding outrageous okay uh I don't have a giant win-loss game uh individual here did you do you have one in Florida when Susie was here I do have Florida did one all right I've got Alan Dallas let's give him me the the music the biggest Giants fan this show has ever known and may ever known playing the win-loss game having seen his front office on display already on the hard knocks hashtag weird crew here we go here we go home for the Minnesota Vikings to start it off Sam Darnold is coming into the spot where he once saw ghosts what happens that's a loss home uh for the Vikings is a loss then at the commanders that's a win at the Browns that's a loss home for the Cowboys on a Thursday night that's a huge loss the first use of an adjective by Alan Dallas in the win-loss game one and three at the Seahawks that's a that's a win that's a shocking way I think Seattle stinks oh two and three home for the Bengals huge huge loss two and four Saquon's back if you thought Cincinnati was a huge loss what do you think this is going to be it's going to be it two and five at the Steelers on a Monday night here's where we get hot baby um that's a win holy Rooney Marip Batman okay three and five home for the commanders I can't even pronounce the name of their stadium Richard it's a disgrace by the way Pittsburgh uh Washington that would be a win okay now you're in Munich against the Panthers with a shot to get back to 500. Let's go come on Al that would be that would be a that would be a huge win huge win five and five we're back off the bye here come the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a MetLife unless Tom Brady shows up for that game that's a win for the New York Football Giants that's four wins in a row there you go for coach Blue Zempik and the New York Giants six and five at the Cowboys on Thanksgiving the only guy that says he'd lose to rich eyes in a 40-yard dash by the way the head coach of that the Dallas Cowboys that's that's a loss oh six and six home for the Saints that's a win seven and six home for the Ravens that's a loss seven and seven at the Falcons that's a win eight and seven home for the Colts that's a win nine and seven at the Eagles that would be I'm gonna say it's a loss because uh you know just as a look at the schedule but hey you never know uh the Eagles aren't playing for anything that could be a win but that's gonna be a loss nine and eight Allen Dallas I gotta tell you the way it started at one and three to finish nine and eight you you gotta be happy about that mediocrity though Richard's gonna kill them that's gonna be the problem but you got the 40 million dollar quarterback that's gonna be handed over to the handing off to the three million dollar running back that's the way it's supposed to be apparently so apparently uh yeah it's not gonna be it's not gonna be good not gonna it's not nine and eight's not gonna do it unfortunately I don't think thank you for uh the call Al you be well always great to chat with you all right Allen Dallas all right let's get Justin Jefferson out here let's do it about to have a family reunion the best in the National Football League at his position Justin Jefferson is here in the flesh next on the Rich Eisen Show let's talk O'Reilly Auto Parts people you love their jingle you're gonna love their friendly helpful service even better because they're in the business of keeping your car on the road and the parts knowledge they have it's all you need for your maintenance and repairs they've got thousands of parts and accessories in stock either in store or online so you never have to worry if you're in a jam the team at O'Reilly Auto Parts can test your battery for free in or out of your car if it needs to be replaced they'll find you just the right battery for your vehicle need your windshield wipers replaced a brake light fixed or quick service they'll help you there and find the right part or point you to the nearest local repair shop for help the professional parts people at O'Reilly Auto Parts are your one-stop shop for all things auto do it yourself and you can find what you need in store or online so stop by O'Reilly Auto Parts today or visit us at OReillyAuto.com that's OReillyAuto.com E-I-S-E-N O-O-O-Reilly Auto Parts hey everybody this just in it's summertime it's time to go and do all those summer things like going to a baseball game during the summer i'm about to do exactly that and i know exactly what to do and you should too you should go look forward to making new memories this year by going to a ball game using game time the authorized ticket marketplace of major league baseball which makes getting tickets faster and easier prices on the game time app actually go down the closer it gets to the first pitch so you can wait to buy your tickets with killer last minute deals the all-in prices feature you get to see how much everything is before your purchase views from your seat you know exactly where you're getting your seat and the view of the field from it their lowest price guarantee of course that's game time takes the guesswork completely out of buying mlb tickets download the game time app create an account and use my code eisen for twenty dollars off your first purchase terms apply visit game time.co for restrictions again create an account redeem my code eisen for twenty dollars off download game time today last minute tickets lowest price guaranteed. Justin Jefferson here on the Rich Eisen Show and you just were discussing about how you know there's Jets and then there's Justin and Jets is i guess your your day playing or night playing persona when when does Jets come out when does that happen during the playing season um i mean every start uh really about two to three hours before the game starts uh justin is is leading all the way until uh i step really every time i step foot on on the field so the practice uh that's that's when i have jets out i always practice at a high level uh always trying to get prepared for the weekend uh get my mindset uh ready for uh the game that i'm going to have uh for that upcoming week so uh while i'm at practice and uh while i'm in that mode uh i'm going you know full throttle i'm i'm putting all of that effort in to try to uh you know be the best that i can for my teammates uh and of course getting that chemistry down with my quarterback when did you this work ethic come into being for you justin jefferson i mean my whole life my whole life i've always been doubted always uh been you know the second or third to be looked at and uh i mean my whole career i just always had that chip on my shoulder to always prove somebody differently uh so i always feel like i never was you know given anything i always worked for what i've earned and what i have uh gotten for myself uh so just every single time i step on the field i feel like i have to prove something i have to uh show either the person that's in front of me or the person that's watching me uh in the stands uh that i am the best at what i do uh and i and i take it you know very seriously well i know that's for sure um but when you're referring to that you were always overlooked second or third person discussed i mean i i'm assuming you're also referring to that in your college days as well right for sure i know these guys are your guys you know ride or die for life you know but jamar chase being a teammate of yours was that part of your season when joe's throwing 60 and you're catching some for sure catching some you were thinking this sort of thing oh for sure i mean having having that um having that battle uh you know going against we're not really going against but uh just competing with jamar competing with terrace uh those type of guys uh competing with them every single day gets you better alone uh you know not only going out on saturday nights and performing at a high level but every single day uh you're watching a top receiver you know jamar is the top receiver in this league today uh and that goes to show you the amount of talent that we had at lsu uh so to be competing with him uh with the who's going to get the most touchdowns who's going to get the most receiving yards who's going to get the better catch uh you know just competing with him throughout that whole time that we was playing together uh it definitely made us more competitive and made us better at our craft because we both wanted each other to be a top receiver uh but we always wanted to be the number one uh so you can't have number one to number one so we always competed on uh trying to be better than each other but we always supported each other at the end of the day well and then you know you get drafted and you're the fifth receiver taken right on that covid night in 2020 yeah were you sitting at home just like steaming were you just i i was i wasn't steaming but i knew my time was going to come i knew i knew my name was going to be called eventually um of course i felt like i was better than uh some of the guys that were uh picked before me and i felt like uh you know just the teams that picked them uh you know i just felt like they overlooked me and uh felt like that they were better for their program than i was and i just didn't really take it fully to heart but just really uh took it in the way as i'm going to prove them wrong i'm going to prove everybody wrong uh to the people that saying that i'm only a slot receiver or i only can do this i only can do that or my success came from this uh i just wanted to show people that it doesn't matter what situation that i'm in uh i'm going to perform at a very very high level and i was blessed enough to be put in a situation where i was the fifth pick and i was to the vikings with the veteran quarterback with a quarterback that you know had a name for itself and um had a good arm so ever since i got into the league starting off with kirk and uh building that relationship with him uh i mean we had a we did a lot of great things uh during the four years of us being together um so it definitely was something to be grateful for uh but i always kept it as you know a chip on my shoulder and something to prove everybody wrong well in terms justin jefferson of being overlooked um those days are over officially over they are over last time you were on this show it was at the super bowl yeah and i asked you where the bag was you said i don't know where the bag is you said you were looking for the bag well you found the bag yeah i found you congratulations on that thank you so much what was that moment like for you when you got the call and it was official the bag was there and it was generationally brilliant as well as record setting for sure the bag was hand delivered it definitely it definitely was hand delivered and i mean just just the whole entire moment um it's i mean it's speechless you know just uh you're waiting your whole entire in your whole entire life for that moment uh of course i'm the first one in my family to you know uh be in the nfl and uh to have this type of money for myself and uh i mean it's it's it's it's crazy it's crazy uh i mean i wake up every single day and uh just think about the life that i live you know the the the life that i'm blessed with and um i mean the gift that i'm blessed to to have uh to play this game at a very very high level uh so to to you know set the the market to uh be the highest paid non-quarterback you know that it's something that always jumped always jumped up but to actually be living it and to actually um you know experience it you know firsthand is is it's crazy it's amazing you know obviously money's great that's that's uh that's a great thing to have right uh the respect that comes with that tag too is something that everybody that's featured in this series receiver is searching for right everybody's searching for that everybody's searching for that in the national football league in all of professional sports yeah um but you're the one who's paid the best that doesn't play the quarterback spot yeah in the nfl and uh what do you think that that sends a message to other receivers in the national football league that you're able to do this not from a quarterback sacking point of view but from a catching from a quarterback point of view yeah and not only that you know i'm i'm the youngest one you know i'm i'm the youngest one out of the bunch that's getting these type of contracts uh and you know i'm doing it you know after four years of of me playing uh so that goes to speak a lot you know to to change the whole market uh to you know make history and uh to do something that has never been done uh and only four years of me playing uh it goes to show you you know the the type of player that i've i am for the team and the the amount of work that i've really put in uh to become who i am today i mean it just goes to show you the amount of hard work that i put in uh i mean the countless hours of me and my brothers out on the field and uh practicing our craft and trying to become better and uh trying to achieve our goals of getting to the nfl and uh being this superstar and having this all-time contract that will set our family up for life you know that's something that always been a dream uh but to actually live it and to actually go through the different things that i've went through to sacrifice the different things that i sacrificed uh and to you know see how happy my parents are uh to to experience their son you know getting the uh all-time lifelong contract that you know he's been dreaming of forever so uh it's a lot of happy tears that that goes in towards it um a lot of happy moments that i'm definitely looking forward to having um you know in these next four to five years with the vikings uh but you know it goes kudos goes to the you know the organization and you know my agent and everybody else that had a part in this contract justin jefferson here on the rich eisen show so when when did you first get a call to say hey we'd like to have cameras following you throughout the 2023 season when did that happen uh it was it was a different call you know it just uh you know i i had the experience of being with kirk during the the quarterback series right uh we never really knew that there was recording for that you didn't know none of us knew none of us knew we didn't even know that cameras was following him around that's how that's how yeah that's how discreet it was so uh when they kind of asked me about it and you know told me the whole idea of how there they was planning on planning it uh and how they was going to record different things um i mean i the first thought in my mind was like am i going to have a good season you know i don't want i don't want you know to record me having a bad season or uh to to to do something out my comfort zone uh that will kind of mess things up for me uh but i i kind of thought about a little bit ask my family ask my friends uh and just thought about the opportunity uh of just you know exposing myself to the world uh letting people see who i really am um not only just you know me on the field having having the helmet on and and catching footballs uh more on you know how my family is uh what i like to do uh outside of football uh what i enjoy doing what i'm interested in uh so really to to to get to see how i really am in person uh besides you know me just being on the field and having a helmet on and so i'm assuming again this starts on on uh wednesday do we see you you know going through um a difficult time of being hurt yeah and the cameras following you around i mean how much are we gonna be let into the ups and downs of yours in the viking season yeah it's crazy it's crazy that uh you know the first time i i get injured the first time i'm every uh missing any games you know they get to record it so you know the whole world get to really see the process of me uh getting back on my feet uh i mean the difficulty it was to you know be out on that sideline to watch you know my teammates competing out there and i have to be on a sideline coaching them up and uh you know be a be a cheerleader you know pretty much at the end of the day uh so it definitely was a difficult process for me uh but you know you really get to see the emotions uh get to see um the genuine side of uh how i wanted to get back how uh much i love to be around the guys and to be around the building and um you know just grateful for um the people that help me you know get back on my feet uh and then to finish off the season with over a thousand yards anyway right so uh it definitely it definitely shows a lot of you know good and the bad uh and the process of you know getting back on my feet okay does does the cameras at least last as long to get so you get the bag or do we stopped they stopped it it lasted a while oh okay so we do see at least yeah y'all see y'all see a couple extra stuff besides you know on the on the field and that's what we call an extra yeah you gotta for sure extra that's a lot of extra you don't really get too much uh during the season for me so sure they they wanted to add a little bit extra in the off season and uh just different things that i accomplished um you know just to give me a little bit extra tv time and it also be included i mean devante adams that's a future hall of famer we're talking about right here a couple of 49ers debo samuel george kittles on tomorrow's program i'm on raw st brown all followed by the terrific crew that produced quarterback for netflix last year and that debuts um eight episodes 50 minutes long on netflix starting on wednesday i have a few uh visuals to to to show you oh oh no these are all good don't you worry um and i'm i'm asking my coordinating producer who's a diehard bills fan to call up the photograph here um and it's and i'm sorry mike hoskins to make you call up the moment here obviously in your career just four seasons in this is what pretty much everybody's talking about what was going through your mind in this moment right here can you parse it out for me justin jefferson um i mean honestly just uh i mean just leading up to that moment uh you know having having the time out and having uh the two-minute warning having the uh having us kind of really discuss on how we wanted to uh convert this fourth and 18. this is not what you drew up though right uh i mean it's what i drew it's what we drew up but you know it's for me to make that type of catch and for me to you know convert the fourth and 18. uh it's pretty much you know a prayer at that moment it's pretty much like you know we have to we have to throw it up and you have to go make a play for us uh it's not really something that we practice it's not something that you know we go over every every day um at that moment it's really just you know a a big time player making a big time play uh so just having kirk giving me the opportunity to go up and make a play for us um i don't know what went through my mind to go up with one hand uh at that moment but uh you know i i came down with it and uh to to you know just to give us the extra life and uh the definitely was a life we needed and to to come out with the victory is definitely definitely something that was crazy but do you even look at that now and go how the hell did i do that at all i mean i've been i've been wondering i've been asking that question ever since it happened honestly uh i mean god definitely was with me during that time uh you know just to be put in that situation uh to be fourth and 18 with the game on the line uh literally if that ball hit the ground the game is pretty much over there's there's pretty much no way of us uh coming back uh so you know that just that whole that whole sequence of you know us well me catching the ball for us going down the field and uh for them fumbling on the one yard line uh you know that whole sequence is just a crazy crazy game definitely one of the best games that i've been in uh just with the environment um you know just you know being being in the mafia stadium uh and just coming out with the victory in in that in that type of way in that fashion is definitely was something that would stick for me for the rest of my life everybody talks about the o'dell catch and met life i mean what's with the lsu guys going up and just grabbing it with one hand i don't know man i always been saying there's something in the water you know there's something in that louisiana water that we'll be drinking since since we was little kids that that put a little something extra in our blood i i don't know what it is i don't know well i don't know what was in the water in paris uh but let's get to this one uh this this went viral you and joe burrow walking um and i'll be honest with you justin i i did notice you um walking uh but not till about the fifth time i saw the video because every single time i was looking at what joe was wearing um were you offered the backless option um i was not offered i was not offered the back option uh even if they offered it to me i wouldn't wear it but uh i mean hey joe is the type of guy that you can see him wearing that you know he's the he's the guy that wants to be different uh you know he's the the guy that really doesn't care right no but were you there when it was offered to him were you i wasn't there when it was offered to him okay and i didn't see him try it on so when's the first time you saw the first time i saw was there so maybe if i see him try it on or you know i would have probably gave him a little tip or two but i think joe rock did you know joe if you know joe you know joe and that's the type of suit joe will wear in that type of fashion show for vogue so you know yeah that's just not a lot of guys can pull that off they don't have the physique there's also you know for some guys that's just you know when they put on a shirt it's it's layering because they already have a they already have a sweater on the back like he can he he pulls it off i'm not saying that hey you should have seen how many people wanted to take a picture with his back are you serious yeah yeah what would they say i want a picture with you but turn around is that what you're saying i mean how they gonna see the back of the suit if he's turned if he's facing you gotta turn around to see the back of the suit amazing that's next level congratulations it was a 1950s look apparently they did it in the 50s all right i don't know so apparently he's bringing i liked it i liked it it fits joe that's definitely something that joe joe is and i liked it but i i enjoyed my suit better okay i enjoyed my shoes but i like that i had the back to my suit okay but i liked it by the way i thought your let's but let's focus on you now i thought this walk was incredibly confident like what is what's your inner thought as you're walking like this at a vogue i was just thinking don't trip i didn't want to trip i didn't want to you know be awkward but hand in pocket you're like you'll definitely agree with the hand in pocket we was like you know we're not we're not we're new to this we're not yeah better better veterans in this did you pick a spot in the distance and you're like looking at the spot like what are you doing here see that was the difficult part because you know if you really know that type of show uh there's plenty of different celebrities plenty of different people uh that's invited to the show and sit in first row okay but as a model if you know as a model you're not really supposed to be looking at no i don't know that justin tell me what it's like to be a model justin well you know the people that knows you know you're not really supposed to be you know just looking at everything just walking in the park you're supposed to be looking at the you're looking straight pretty much at the the back of the person that's in front of your head you know you're supposed to be stern firm and you know don't smile you're supposed to just keep a clean walk that's the exact opposite of what it's like to be a receiver you gotta have your head on a swivel exactly and here you can't have your head on a swivel you gotta just i would have pulled out a little gritty here and there but you know what i'm saying i had to be professional i had to be more professional i had to i had to have the nice walk i had to you know you know you are living your best life he got the bag he got the suit with a bag he's on receiver on netflix all right life man it is a good life uh if you don't mind just uh the other couple minutes i want to take a break and just talk about the upcoming season send you up to 405 again of course again justin jefferson living his best life he beat the 405 today he's already undefeated in 2024 justin jefferson right here on the rich isin show we'll finish up with him in a we're still hanging out here with justin jefferson what what i i should ask since you're you're a model uh as well who are you wearing today justin jefferson what is what is what do you have on is that a louis vuitton shirt is it what you're seeing right now louis vuitton shirt uh a merry pants okay uh i got the gucci sneaks okay nothing too crazy this the shades uh we can't talk about the shade okay we won't talk okay can't talk about the shade oh i'm not looking at team jefferson they're all agreeing with you right now off camera they're all okay they oakley's man they oakley's all right now i get it somebody's got a deal i didn't mean to touch the third rail i'm sorry okay very good very good i'm calling i'm calling out i'm calling out your team uh all right very good and those are the sink's very good and the shirt has it back we just we just we did just see a photograph in the commercial break um of the burrow wore a shirt underneath the jacket to begin with did you like the shirt no it looked it looked it looked like somebody cut the back of the jacket out and it was the lining of the jacket right it would have been totally jarring and would have taken away from your moment as well i might add justin but for joe's back to be out right with no shirt underneath it made the moment even bigger well but you know i mean we already spotted we had justin simmons in that chair just a jeffrey simmons pardon me just a few weeks ago saying he cannot wait to get on joe burrow when he sees him wow yeah he's he's gonna talk up he's gonna talk a lot of you know ish but the thing about it is joe's not gonna care that's that's yes he has he has that that's the bad part about it you know you want to clown him about it you want to joke you don't want to joke him about it but at the end of the day he's not going to care i've got justin jefferson here on the rich isin show i'm back on the rich isin show radio network sitting at the rich isin show desk furnished by granger with supplies and solutions for every industry granger has the right product for you call click granger.com granger.com or just stop by my pops work at granger is that right yeah oh hey look at us he sent you this no he didn't i i do this three times a day you need to send me something back in return no no i do this three times a day what's up pops just stop by for real my pops really do work at granger for real i think he's no did he retire he just retired from granger well he will now if he hasn't justin jefferson here on the rich isin show all right let's talk about the 2024 um season um you got sam darnold at quarterback right now um and what what is it like catching passes from him so far the general sense of his his starting obviously i don't want to put a cart before a horse but that's what's going on in your in your neck of the woods right now yeah uh i feel like uh sam is doing a great job um we're just communicating and uh just connecting with the players um yeah you know he understands that you know he's the new guy um we have to bond with him and um you know we we have to create that connection and uh that chemistry with him uh so he's definitely yeah and he's an older guy you know he it's not like he's new into the league yes uh so he he kind of knows how to uh socialize how to talk how to uh communicate with us uh not only just about football but you know just in general uh just talking about different things uh just like how me and kurt used to do um but to have you know sam in there more of a um a veteran older uh mindset uh to you know have jj uh come in and kind of learn from him as well uh it's definitely something that you know we needed and i i think will be great for jj as well were you surprised kirk left uh yeah and no um i always always knew you know kirk you know was going to do whatever he needs to do for for you know his business wise uh and uh i just knew that you know everything just wasn't um you know the way he wanted it to be uh here and especially you know just with uh having to pay me and you know having to play so many other different guys um i feel like he he just wanted a new start a new uh opportunity to you know start with uh atlanta and uh a clean slate and uh i'm not mad at him at all for that uh i'm grateful for for what he has brought to me and um you know the things that we have accomplished together um but you know at the end of the day is it's a business and um you know you got to do what you got to do for yourself and for your family and uh i clearly understand that uh but you know it's it's on to the next you know it doesn't really matter um you know what quarterback it is in my eyes i'm always going to try to make the best of the opportunity i'm always going to try to you know be the quarterback's friend uh and make his job a lot easier so uh it doesn't matter if it was kirk or uh if it's sam or if it's jj you know i'm gonna make him um you know make him make it as easy as possible for well i got about a minute left and i'm i'm just gonna pat myself on the my covered back um that i've waited till the last minute to bring up one of my favorite human beings on the planet jj mccarthy what have you seen out of the kids so far yeah um i like jj um uh he's definitely learning he's definitely trying to learn and uh definitely asking questions um you know they put jj's locker right next to mine uh just like how they did kirk so i already know their their mindset and how how they want want things to go uh you know they want me to to to be that that guy that uh jj can always you know talk to and uh ask questions about and uh he's definitely that type of kid you know he he definitely wants to ask questions he wants to learn how to become a top quarterback he wants to learn how to become uh you know uh a problem in this league and uh you know he's he's consistently asking me different questions on you know how how you did this or how did you become this how did you do this when you first came came into the league so well he's a michigan guy so he asked those questions i can i can definitely see that though but i love his attitude i love his um his questioning and his uh curiosity to to be one to want to become uh you know something so uh i'm definitely looking forward to what he has to bring to our team um you know of course there's a lot of expectations from him uh but i always tell him you know don't really worry about the expectations uh all you have to do is just carry yourself carry yourself with confidence uh and i feel like you know he's just trying to learn the playbook and he's just um just like all of us at the time uh his head is just running in the thousand a thousand miles per hour uh with trying to learn this playbook and trying to trying to be comfortable um with just being in the pocket and just uh just being free back there so i just told him just to be a student of the game just like just like you were in class uh back in school uh preparing for a big test you know your your head in the book uh and just trying to trying to learn and trying to be uh become the best person you can in the book uh so when you get on that field you're just more free you're just playing and um you know you're just playing with confidence at that moment well maybe they put him next to you because that's the way it was for kirk and you or maybe the vikings just like having national champions uh sit next to each other you know what i mean maybe man you know you've got a ring he's got a ring you know you gotta get a ring it's kind of crazy i don't know if you saw uh national championship night uh i was out there just handing out 100 bills to all the kids wow i'm sorry that was not my national championship wow look at rich man that's what i was doing wow that's crazy they have nil now it's not as legal it's right isn't that crazy he was ahead of the curve way ahead of his time isn't that crazy obj nil right there for lsu come on now he started it that's right everybody we saw that and they're like you know that's not a bad idea we're gonna suspend him but i think that's a great idea oh fantastic jefferson jefferson here uh on the rich isin show we're back on the roku channel what about 30 seconds that we're back on all right fantastic uh i've just had a blast with you here man i really appreciate you taking thank you for having me man this is a nice studio you got here okay yeah it's nice fantastic i didn't i didn't think it looked like this you know on the other side of the screen well listen i right there turn over your right side there you go but justin jefferson wondering where his jersey is tj jefferson has one right there now i just need it hung up we're gonna keep it in the family you know well i guess yeah the jeffersons that's my cousins back there i've been trying to tell them this justin they ain't trying to believe me i believe everything from you welcome to talkville the
