Rock, you can. Let's head out to the guest line right now on the Zach Gelb show on CBS Sports Radio. Welcome in the former Georgia quarterback.

Now does a great job for ESPN and Sirius XM and that is Aaron Murray. Aaron, how you been? What's going on?

Happy, was it Wednesday night? Happy post first playoff poll. Yeah, when we look at the first college football playoff poll ranking, everyone has problems whenever these things are originally released. My biggest problem, the thing I can't still understand, how is Ohio State 2 and then Michigan's 5 and the committee thinks there is that big of a separation between the two teams? Yeah, well, first off, this is Michigan's fault. Michigan should not have scheduled a pretty piss poor start to the season without a conference game.

That's all it is. The committee is saying, listen, we need more from you. We need to see you play more competitive games before we put you into the top four. But I'm with you. If you watch the tape right now, I'm less concerned about the Ohio State-Michigan separation now. I'm more concerned about what I've seen from Clemson compared to Michigan.

And if you just know football and watch football and understand what team's better than which team and if you put them on a neutral site, what would happen? Michigan, I think, would whoop up on Clemson. So I'm a little bit more upset about that than say the whole, once again, the difference between where Ohio State is now at 2 and where Michigan is at 5. Michigan's a better football team than Clemson. It's just right now when you look at where teams are ranked, I think based on the fact that they put Tennessee at 1, kind of indicates to everyone that, hey, we do seriously take into consideration who you have played, what your wins look like.

And it's funny because I say that, but then you look at TCU, and TCU's at 7, and they've had a heck of a schedule start the season off, yet they're behind Alabama. So it's weird. It's like they pick and choose when they want to say, congratulations, you played a great schedule, we're going to reward you, and when they don't decide to do that either.

So I don't know. It's a tough job. We can complain and do all the talking we want, which is fun and exciting. It makes my job on radio every day a lot easier, but it's a little bit head-scratching some of the decisions they made last night when putting this thing together. Well, you're spot on with Clemson, and I was hoping that Clemson was going to lose when they were in a close game against Syracuse a few weeks ago, just so we could kind of get them out of the conversation. But now it seems inevitable that Clemson is going to run the table, and it just feels as if we're going to have another crappy semifinal game because Clemson is just not that good. No, it's frustrating.

I'm with you. I mean, they should have lost the game to Syracuse. They're up, what, 14 points. And then the personal foul on the quarterback as he's running out of bounds, turning the corner, and they call roughing the passer, or late hit, or whatever the penalty was, which was complete nonsense. And then Syracuse doesn't get that call for their quarterback the next possession. It was just Clemson being Clemson fans, and not fans, but essentially referees helping the way. But listen, they got to face Notre Dame this weekend.

Fingers crossed. Notre Dame can find a way to win the game. Or South Carolina has looked good at times this season. That's an opportunity maybe at the end of the year, and it looks like they'll face North Carolina in the ACC championship game.

Maybe Drake May has an incredible moment as he's had the season, and they find a way. So will they be favored? Should they win every game going out in the regular season in the ACC championship?

Yes. But there is still an opportunity for them to maybe slip. And I do think if they slip, I think they're out. And I do think TCU, if they slip at all, you will not see a big 12 team in the college football playoff at the end of this year. But it doesn't take away from what TCU has done.

And I said this earlier in one of my shows. If you take away the TCU logo, and you put it with a Texas Longhorn or an Oklahoma Sooner, they would be a top three team in the nation. They're not a blue blood.

Plain and simple. You look at their schedule and what they've done, winning four consecutive games in a row against ranked opponents, there's no reason they should not be ranked inside the top three. It's just the fact that they're TCU and they're not getting any love because of it.

Isn't that so frustrating? Because aren't we supposed to be evaluating who the best teams are in college football? And we know the eye test is always used. Well, if you want to use eye testing, look at Alabama this year and strip away. I talked about stripping away the TCU logo and just looking at what they've done this season. And once again, like I said, if it was Texas or Oklahoma, there is no doubt in my mind that would be a number three or possibly number two team in the nation right now. And then you can Alabama, you know, terrible game versus Texas, very undisciplined.

You know, yours has knocked out the game. I think that game would have been very different. I think Texas would have won, but would have been very different if yours was healthy to how they look versus A&M. Almost losing that game against a very, very bad Texas A&M football team at home and then obviously losing to Tennessee. Like what makes Alabama deserving to be ahead of TCU in the rankings right now because they're Alabama. That's it, is because we think they have a bunch of first round draft picks and it's Nick Saban in Alabama and that is the only reason right now why they are ahead.

So it's unfortunate, you know, it's just it is what it is. And to me, it signals that for TCU, you have to go undefeated because if you're 12 and one and you slip up just one time, but you win the Big 12, the committee made a statement last night that that will not cut it for the Horned Frogs, excuse me, to be a playoff-consenting football team. And Aaron Murray, I don't know if this is going to happen two weeks from now, but I really hope TCU blows out Texas because that is a mutual opponent and you mentioned Texas almost beat Alabama without Quinn Ewers.

That would be awesome if TCU beats Texas big to then just see if they will still keep TCU behind Alabama. Yeah, they got a tough test ahead of them and they got a lot of, you could say one thing about the Big 12, they don't have an elite team necessarily. I mean, TCU, I guess, is kind of carrying that flag right now. And, you know, I've been preaching about how they should be a top five team and then I just go ahead and say they're not elite.

I mean, that's the mindset of the country, though, and that's the mindset of the committee. But it's really the same thing for the Big 12 and the Pac-12. They have a lot of really good teams and they beat up on one another. Like, look at Oklahoma State, how quickly they faded now. Well, listen, I was not a big fan of Oklahoma State. You know, I thought that team had a lot of issues on defense.

You know, Spencer Sanders has played better this year, but he's still not. You know, he's got an elite quarterback and they got a little bit lucky versus Kansas State and kind of escaped a couple of other one's times this season as well. So, you know, to me, they were an 8-4, 9-3 team and we're kind of seeing that right now, especially after the blowout loss last weekend.

So, yeah, I completely agree with you. Like, those two conferences, whether that may not be, you know, a Georgia or an Ohio State or a Tennessee, but it's deep and it's talented and it's exciting. It's fun, but the issue with, you know, 14 playoffs is you're not going to then put a team into the playoffs at the end of the day. So, you know, I think I still think that Pac-12 has a more legitimate chance to get someone in because their top three teams that are, you know, USC, UCLA, and Oregon are bigger brands. You know, if there is a one-loss Oregon or a one-loss USC or one-loss UCLA, they, in my mind, would go in over a one-loss, you know, TCU. And I think they'd also go over a one-loss Clemson if Clemson lost one of these three games, but still ended up winning the ACC championship.

Aaron Murray here with us for a few more moments. Alabama LSU this weekend, how do you think that game will play on out? I hope LSU wins.

It would, how fun would that be if they throw that wrench into this whole scenario? I really like LSU. I've been a big fan of their defense. You know, they got the talent on offense. There's two freshmen tackles that played well. Jaden Daniels just keeps getting better and better and better every week. You see the confidence. You know, Kishan Bhutte is playing.

You know, he's more engaged. We knew he's a great talent. There's been some issues with him and Brian Kelly and some tussles on and off the field, but he looks like he wants to be a part of this team all of a sudden, which is huge. You got Malik Nabors. You got Doreen Jenkins.

You got Taylor at tight end. It's a good football team on both sides and they're playing with confidence. They're playing at home. And like I talked about earlier, Alabama is vulnerable. This is not like when I played 10 years ago and for the past decade plus, like when you played Alabama, you know, they walked off the bus and they won the football game because they were already in your head. I just don't think that's the case this year. I think people look at Alabama and say, yeah, they're a good team and we respect them, but we're not scared of them. Like I guarantee you LSU is not scared of Alabama. I think if anything, they really truly believe that the way they're playing, the fact that it's at home at night in Tiger Stadium, that they can win the football game. I think they can. I really think they can.

So, you know, it's crazy to me. It's like a 13 and a half point spread right now. You know, I've got to, you know, have to put some money on the Tigers on that one because I think it's going to be a close football game. Tennessee and Georgia, a game that you'll have a lot of interest in, to probably say the least, Aaron Murray, what decides that mega, mega, mega game this weekend? I think for Georgia, the big deciding factor is can you limit the explosive plays?

If you turn on Tennessee this entire season, I bought an opportunity to cover them in a ball game earlier this year. They thrive on game changing plays. And then you go back to even the game versus Alabama. You know, Alabama, you know, gets an interception, turns into a touchdown. They get a fumble and turn that to a touchdown. And what is Tennessee do? They respond with a 75 yard touchdown to Jalen Hyatt and their ability to change momentum in a blink of an eye can be completely demoralizing to an opponent.

And that's what they do so, so, so well. So for Georgia, who I think has the DDS to match up with Cedric and with Brew McCoy and Jalen Hyatt and his ability to push small Berkeley down the field. If Tennessee is going to score, make them do it in four, make them do it in five, six minutes. Don't allow the big 75 yard touchdown that can essentially quiet the crowd and just rip your heart out.

So do that, make them earn it, keep the game into the low 30s, high 20s. And I think Georgia has a chance because if you turn into a track meet, I like Georgia's offense. I think it's tremendous. You know, what Monken is doing with, with guys like with Stetson and Brock Bowers and Kenny Maconkosh on the backfield, it's great. But you're going against the best offense in the country.

Do not turn it into a track meet. And I think Georgia will have a chance. If you had to take your best educated guess right now, November 2nd, who are the four teams at the end of the year in the college football playoff?

Four teams. I will go Georgia, Ohio State, Clemson and Tennessee. And then finally, who's your prediction on who gets the Auburn job?

Oh, man. I actually have the Liberty versus Arkansas game this weekend. I'm very excited to ask Hugh Freeze that question on Friday night. If I get any answers from him, it has to be Lane or has to be Dion. I think both would be tremendous. I think to me, I'd go after Lane first, just his ability to hit the transfer portal, you know, what he's done at Ole Miss, his ability to create explosive offense.

I think a lot of that's super exciting. I think he could do extremely well. I don't think he's afraid to kind of go toe to toe with Nick Saban. And then I think you could say the same thing with Dion. You know, the excitement that Dion would create, you know, him and Charles Barkley would be a heck of a duo when it comes to recruiting and raising money for the University of Auburn. His personality, his ability to be that CEO, I think both those guys would be would be huge success there as a mix coach of Auburn.

So we'll see if they can make it happen. Aaron Murray, appreciate the time. I always love our conversations. Thank you. Appreciate it. Have a great week. You got it. You too. There is Aaron Murray joining us always is a good job now working for ESPN and Sirius XM.

Hickey, let me ask you this. If you had to right now, tell me not who you want to get in, but who you think will get in as your top four teams. Who do you think will get into the college football playoff? I will go with Tennessee, Ohio State, T.C.U. Wow. Clemson.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Only one SEC school? That's right. And Tennessee is running the table. So then why would you would think then that T.C.U. the committee is going to put T.C.U. in over a one lost Georgia?

Yes. If you're 13 to know, I don't see them getting left out for a 12 and one non-even division winner. You think T.C.U., who's ranked seventh right now, is going undefeated. I like T.C.U.

a lot. You think they're going to be Texas Tech, Texas Baylor, Iowa State, and then whoever they play in the conference championship. Yes, I'm in. I'm in on T.C.U. I would be shocked if we don't get two SEC teams. I would be stunned.

And especially that would be some debate. You've got an undefeated T.C.U. team and an undefeated Clemson team. I think one of those teams would be left out assuming, assuming that the Georgia loss to Tennessee is a close game.

That would just be me. I really think the way this is going to shape on out is you're getting two out of Alabama, Tennessee, and Georgia. Two of those teams will get in. The winner of Ohio State Michigan will get in.

And then it comes down to who the other team is. If Clemson runs the table and they're undefeated, they're going to get in whether you like that or not. And then I'm hoping Clemson can drop a game because it opens up the door for someone else.

And I'd rather see someone else because it's at least an unknown. I think I know what Clemson is. They have a very good defense. The quarterback has played better than what he did clearly a year ago. But that game against Syracuse, where he did not play well, is concerning.

I think whoever Clemson plays in the opening round of the college football playoff, if they get in, would blow them out. It is Zach Gelbshaw on CBS Sports Radio. We'll do a little take five next. Computer freezing. Malfunction. Live radio. As the dust settles from last week's games, it's time to look at which teams are rising. Touchdown. And which are falling.

And there's an interception. Zach ranks his top five NFL and college football teams. On this week's edition of take five.

Only on the Zach Gell Show. So just to take you a little bit behind the scenes. I send Hickey the five teams that I'm going to go with in the NFL and college football. Right before we start the show.

Hickey, when it comes to college, I've made a last second change. Whoa. This is a first.

We are what? November 2nd. This is what, week eight, week nine? Of college football. It would be.

Or take five. I think it's. Oh yeah. I think this is the ninth week. Wow. This is the first switcheroo.

Last second change, huh? So it's still the same five teams. I just changed the order of the five teams.

Oh, okay. So do you want me to go to college first or the NFL? Let's do college. Yeah, you have to. When I just tease it like that, you got to go college. If you said NFL, I was going to be like when I said to Pete the body, Baladi, shut up.

Or it doesn't matter what you think. All righty. Number five.

This is not, I'll tell you what I change afterwards. In at number five, I'm going with a team that got disrespected by the committee. I love the teams that they have beat recently. When you look at them taking down Kansas state, taking down Oklahoma state, taking down Kansas, taking down Oklahoma. And then Hickey thought the team that he just picked to go undefeated and run that table to get to the college of all playoff in TCU.

If you remember last week, Hickey set up up, settler coming, they're going to lose to West Virginia. And I was like, yes, this call. I said, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Close call was TCU check the tape.

And you know what? I was right. What do you mean you were right?

closest call was TCU should have been Ohio State. No, you said, I think you were like Roger Clemens right now. No, no, no.

I remember it exactly. I said, I was making the case for West Virginia. So I think TCU is going to win. No, no, no, no. Oh, I will check the tape. Liar. I will grab the tape in the break. I can promise you that right now. Liar on Friday. You took West Virginia.

I think 45 Eastern. I will grab the tape and I'll play for it in the break. We can play coming back for next break. I don't know if we have time to do that. Oh, no. I think it may depend on if I'm right or wrong. No.

But I, if I'm wrong, you have, you have, I have no problem admitting I'm wrong. But I at least left this studio on Friday thinking, wow, Hickey who's been talking up TCU, TCU and Max Duggan and Sonny Dyches guys that I like and the wide receiver Johnston. I thought you definitely took West Virginia. So you may want to run that tape.

You may want to roll that tape and check that tape and maybe just maybe we'll have checks and balances coming up later. Anyway, though, I'm taking TCU in at number five. Number four. Here's where the change occurred. The change occurred and I've dropped Ohio State to four and I put Michigan at three.

Here's why. I saw Ohio State play Penn State. I saw Michigan play Penn State. I thought Michigan looked better against Penn State and was more dominant against Penn State than Ohio State did.

Would you agree with that assessment just in terms of you, the Nittany Lyon fan, Michigan looked like the more dominant team against Penn State than Ohio State? Oh, without a doubt. Okay. Does, okay.

So that's what was the deciding factor for me. Ohio State in at four, Michigan at three, Georgia in the two spot and that number one, the best team in the country this year, Rocky Top, Tennessee. Speak now forever.

Hold your peace. Clemson is undefeated there in the committee's top four. How come they are not in your top five? I think TCU has played better competition.

That's why. And Clemson, even though I think they're eventually going to get in because they do think they're going to run the table, DJ reverting back to last year's DJ in that game two weeks ago against Syracuse made me go out on Clemson when I was starting to get back in on Clemson. And what about Bama? They are head of the committee or they're head of TCU in the committee's rankings. Why not your rankings?

You know me. I'll never count out Alabama until they don't get into the college football playoff or they lose in the college football playoff. Here's my problem with Alabama against A&M. They were supposed to blow them out. What were they? Like a twenty four and a half point favorite? Something like that. And that was a four point game against Texas.

Quinn Ewers gets knocked out of the game. They had to survive by the skin of their. What did Al Michaels say? To survive by the hair of their skinny teeth teeth.

Yes. I think is what he said in that game against Tampa and L.A. But they had to survive by the slightest of margins. The slightest margin by one point against Texas. And then they go up against Tennessee back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. They go down early. They get back in the game. Then they miss the kick. And then Tennessee goes down the field.

Their biggest game of the year they lost. I have to see Alabama prove it to me. And that is by running the table the rest of the way for them to reenter the conversation in the top five. Can they get still to the college football playoff? Absolutely.

But I got to see more before I just give them the benefit of the doubt. So Tennessee won Georgia to Michigan three, Ohio State four and TCU five. And by the way, I love the the Zach Gelb show karma that we're seeing from Blake Core. Join us very early on in the season and he may be the best back in the country right now.

Okay. NFL. I've been waiting, waiting, waiting on this team. I've been impressed by the way that they survived the Dallas Cowboys without Dak Prescott. Dak comes back. First week wasn't great. Second week was. No Ezekiel Elliott last week.

No problem. Tony Pollard on 14 carries had well over 100 yards and had two touchdowns. Or was it three touchdowns for Tony Pollard?

I think it was three effective. Yeah. That defense is really good. You have Dak back. Tony Pollard may be better than Zeke. Mike McCarthy's done a good job this year. Cowboys sitting at two losses without having Dak for the majority of the way. Very impressive there in a number five.

Number four. This is a team that I was very optimistic about in terms of making the playoffs this year. And I guarantee they would make the playoffs. I never thought they were going to win their division. They're now a lot to win their division and they improve their team at the trade deadline.

They're going all for it. And that's the Minnesota Vikings. Love the move of trading for T.J. Hopkinson to add to that core of Kirk Cousins, Dalvin Cook, Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen and Zadarius Smith. I've been talking about him a lot this week.

We need to talk about him more and I've already been talking about him a lot. Eight and a half sacks at three sacks last weekend against the Arizona Cardinals. And if you're a Green Bay Packers fan, you've got to be sick to your stomach.

Because the reason why you've got to be sick to your stomach, you had him. And then he walks right over to Minnesota and there was not enough of a freak out about him leaving for a player who did everything that you asked of him when he was with the Green Bay Packers. So I have the Cowboys at five, the Vikings at four. Three, it's the Kansas City Chiefs. I then put the Eagles at two even though they are the lone undefeated team. I just think the most complete team in the NFL is the Buffalo Bills. I do think there's a separation with the Bills and the Eagles from Kansas City. But I think those are the three best teams in the NFL. So I go Cowboys five, Vikings four, Chiefs three, Eagles two, and the Buffalo Bills, who some people say they make you want to shout in at number one.

I'll take Hickey speak now forever. Hold your peace. What about the six and two New York Giants? Now I moved them out of my top five.

They were in my top five last week. They did lose to the Cowboys a few weeks back. They just lost to a Seahawks team.

That is a solid team, but not a great team. So them dropping another game and going down to two losses, in addition to losing head to head against Dallas, that was a difference for me. I dropped the Giants right out of the top five. And what about the Dolphins? This is going to sound weird because of the fact that now Tua is back, but you look at my 15, the Dallas Cowboys, the Cowboys survived.

Like both these teams end up surviving, but the Cowboys thrived without Dak Prescott. They only lost that one game and it was to Philadelphia. The Dolphins, they look like a completely different team getting blown out by the Jets. They lost to Minnesota, who's a good team.

That's in the top five when they were about to a tongue go by lower. I think the Dolphins have a heck of a team. They're not the best team in their division, even though they beat Buffalo, but they have a heck of a team.

They added to it at the trade deadline, going on out there and getting Bradley Chubb and getting Jeff Wilson Jr. But it concerns me, even though Tua is back, that he's one hit away from not being the quarterback. And you looked at the Cowboys, they just showed me that they were the better team when they lost their quarterback. And that's why I gave the edge slightly to the Cowboys over the Dolphins. But you can also argue the Dolphins are undefeated in every game that to a tongue go by lowest starts and finishes. So I could see it both ways, but I just thought the team responded better. With Dallas, when they had to overcome a little bit of adversity, but both teams in an excellent spot right now, both should be in the playoffs.

So Bill's one, Eagles two, Chiefs three, Vikings four, and the Cowboys in at five. We'll take a timeout when we come on back. Let's take a look at the basketball side of it.

And then what is right or wrong when it comes to the Nets, maybe closing in on hiring Eme Udoka as their next coach. We'll get to that conversation on the other side. Randomly, I just say, Doug, and I think it's crazy. I think what happened during the break was Hickey took some of my responses and then edited his voice in there to say that TCU was actually going to beat West Virginia because the way that my memory processed things was hot take Hickey being adamant that West Virginia was going to win up against TCU. So I think we need to look into some of that editing that did occur right there.

Hot take Hickey before we take that for you actually. I'm honored that you think I have the technical skills to somehow take the words that you say and have them said in my voice. You have worked with some people here at the network that require a lot of editing for certain bits, for certain interviews. When you go back to some of your times when you were on the weekend, I know that you are very, very, very good at Adobe Audition editing or even using Burley to edit things.

Sometimes people send you these sports minutes and they make them three minutes long and you're able to trim them down into 35 seconds. So it would not surprise me that you were able to edit that. I just, I was right. You know, I know it's rare. I know it's hard to think with all the wrong predictions I made, but closest scare this weekend, letdown spot.

You know, it's funny and obviously I'm kidding. That was the actual audio, unless if Hickey's just actually crazy. I was so confident though. When I walked out of the studio front, I'm like, oh, Hickey thinks TCU is going to lose.

What is he talking about? They're going to win the game. And I'm watching the TCU West Virginia game at first when it was a game. And I'm thinking to myself, oh, maybe Hickey's going to be right. And then TCU starts to display that they're clearly the better team. And I go, oh, yeah, Hickey got another one wrong. I really thought that you said that West Virginia was going to beat TCU.

And I thought you were just like the biggest idiot on the planet. I'm also disappointed that at 3 a.m. on a Saturday morning slash Friday night, you're not listening to my show because we started that hour with we have seen something collegeable every week. And that will not happen this weekend.

Yeah, a top, you know, an undefeated ranked team going down. So after thanks for not listening with your Jack Assery, Monday through Friday, you anticipate me on my Friday night when it's really my lone going out night of the week. Like I can go out on Saturday, but I got to be careful with what I do on a Saturday. I can't drink too much on a Saturday and football season.

And I can't stay out until 4 a.m. because then I'm going to be fried for the eight hour show that I do on Sunday called I on football. You're getting on me for not listening to the hot take Hickey hour on CBS Sports Radio at 3 a.m. Eastern when it was holiday weekend. And you know that I went to a holiday party, a Halloween party on that Friday night. You're actually upset about that.

That's exactly right. Okay. It was a Halloween party. You just want to know what's funny.

So you were not in costume here on Friday. You want to know what's funny. Can I tell you how big of a moron my friend is?

Oh, sure. So my one friend tells me I have more than one friend. But the friend that I'm talking about, he goes, oh, we're going to our buddy AJ and Sammy's apartment. They have a like a beautiful apartment.

It's right around the corner here. Literally takes me five minutes to walk there. So he goes, we're probably just going to pregame there and then go out to a bar. So I walk over to the apartment after the show and it takes five minutes to get there. And I get in the elevator and they could fit like 40 people comfortably in this apartment.

It's like a beautiful apartment in New York City. So I'm in the elevator and there's four or five people that get in the elevator and press the button to go to the same floor as I was going to. They're all dressed up in costumes. Now it's Halloween. You're in a big apartment complex. I'm not thinking that they're going to the same apartment I was because even though it's Halloween weekend and logically you would think dress up for Halloween. It's a Halloween party.

I was told that this was just a pregame and everyone was going out to the bar afterwards. I get off the elevator and I'm walking behind the four or five people that are in the elevator with me. And I'm like, oh, the apartments at the end of the hall, they're walking, they're walking, they're walking, they're walking.

They get to the end of the hall. They look at me. They're like, oh, are you going to the Halloween party? And I'm like, yeah, they're like, what are you dressed up as? And I'm in a black t-shirt with jeans. I go, oh, a bouncer. I didn't know these people walk into the apartment. Everyone is dressed up by me.

Everyone. Then my friend that told me it was just a pregame comes in. He goes, dude, it's Halloween.

Why wouldn't this be? I go, you told me we were going to the bar. Now this one friend that I have, he's like my best friend.

He's a little clumsy when it comes to the organization of plans. So everyone that knows me there, they said, oh, why aren't you dressed up? I go, oh, our mutual friend, Alex, didn't tell me this is a Halloween party.

And they're like, oh, yeah, I could see that. So one of my friend's girlfriends had a few people were dressed up as cowboys. She had the whole kind of cowboy boots and the jacket and everything. She gave me her cowboy hat.

And I was a cowboy. Wow. Yeah. That's a tough spot for you. I feel bad. I feel like even if you decide I stick out like a sore thumb, I'm six foot five.

I'm a large man. You'd assume Halloween weekend. Okay. A party most likely would be dressed up. I figure you also at the same time say, hey, dress up. Yes. But if you're telling me, you can't assume it's a Halloween.

We're going to a pregame and then we're going out to the bar afterwards. Do you want your costume out to the bar? I guess so.

I wouldn't think so. Well, it's what everyone else did, right? You guys left?

No, no, no. Oh, you didn't leave. That was never going out to the bar. It was an actual Halloween party. Your friend really dropped the ball.

Dropped the ball big time. That'll try to set you up. And it's the same friend that screwed me over in our survivor pool this year. You remember that story? Jets, right?

Yeah. Where he said, take the Jets, take the Jets. They were going up against the Bengals and I said, let's go with the Chiefs going up against the... Oh, no. I think I picked a winner. You picked a winner. I picked a winner. I forget who it was. I picked Kansas City to win against someone.

I forget who it was. And that person made us end up taking the Jets and the Jets lost and then poof, I'm out of the survivor pool. So yeah, that was a... It's weird because I'm clearly a confident person, but when everyone is dressed up as something and you're the one person that's not dressed up, I wanted no part of the party because I just felt so out of place. What makes you look like... Makes me look like a douche. Yeah, it does.

Like you're too cool for everyone else, even though it was unintentional and you kind of got screwed. Mm-hmm. And not exactly a quick fix either of just, oh, let me just go and change really quick. Well, you know what I thought? I thought, because my apartment from our studios is only an eight-minute drive. It's like a 20-minute walk, but an eight-minute drive. I was thinking once I was there, oh, I have a costume, like I could quickly put together something at home.

I would go back and then return, but once I was there, I wasn't leaving. You grab a few drinks, you have a good time, and then you kind of had a laugh over it. So it is what it is, but that was an embarrassing moment, I would say. It was not my finest moment. So now next year, I know to ask, is this a Halloween party? That will forever be burn in your brain, and you will not get burned again twice, that's for sure.

No, I think next year I'll be Tony Soprano, honestly. Oh, that's a good one. Right? That's a good one.

Oh, get the newspaper. You want to grow your hair out to slick it back? I don't know if he's like kind of thin hair. But it's slicked back. No, no.

Thin, but long to slick. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, we're not going to go that crazy, we're not going to go that far. Anyway, this Imayudoka story.

So the expectation is that Imayudoka is going to be the next coach of the Brooklyn Nets. Yesterday was within the next 24 to 48 hours. Clearly, that hasn't happened yet. We still don't know what happened in Boston. Here is my thought, Ryan, and you tell me if this is plausible or not.

Could it have been something that is really bad? Absolutely. Because how many times do we see teams prioritize sometimes winning basketball games over what's doing right or wrong? And this is a team saying this guy did something so bad that or it's so personal that we can't stand by him and a guy that just took us to a final in his first year and NBA finals appearance, we have to say goodbye to him. And we have to suspend him for a year indefinitely and reportedly if the Nets won him, they already got permission to talk to him and the Boston Celtics don't even want anything back for him. Which is wild. It's not like this is the Sacramento Kings in the Western Conference.

This is the Brooklyn Nets in the Eastern Conference. So you then look at that side of it and go knowing this story has been out for a while, we still don't have any clarity on it. It's bizarre in such a public and well-reported world now that we don't know what actually happened.

Here's my idea or here's my theory and you tell me if I'm right or wrong. If this is as bad as what you could imagine it being where there was unwanted comments allegedly we don't know if that's true or not. And you could use your imagination on how this could have got really bad for Yime Oduka. Doesn't look gross back the owner of the Celtics have to call up Josiah and say, Joe, this is what we know. This is why you can't hire him because even though they're competitors inside the NBA, there's a fraternity and it's all the governors of the teams.

And if he did something that is criminal or is something that was making unwanted remarks and whatever it may have been. And if that gets out that the Nets hired that guy, that is significantly embarrassing, especially the Celtics would get a lot of blowback because they didn't inform the Nets, hey, this is what we know, this is what this guy may have done. So, since it appears right now that the expectation is that Yime Oduka is going to get hired by the Nets and we'll see if he actually does and I think he will. It makes me think and it may not be fair to speculate, but that's all we could do in a situation like this when we have basically no facts on this. Maybe the relationship that Oduka had was just with a higher up in the organization.

Like a higher ups wife in the organization, cuz this seems personal. And whatever happened, they could not put it aside in favor of winning basketball games. And since he's gonna walk from one team to the next and no one actually knows what happens, it makes me think maybe it's not as bad as what you could have imagined. And maybe this is just personal where he slept with one of the owners wives or one of the owner's daughter or something like that and you can't do that nor would you want to keep that guy in your organization. But in terms of the Nets hiring him, if that's the case, that wouldn't prevent the Nets from hiring him.

So, that's my theory on this, Ryan, where do you stand on that? I just don't think it's that simple just because again, I just feel like when you talk about a very successful coach and again, being what, two wins away from the NBA Finals, like he wasn't his first year with a team that's built to compete now. And now you're looking at the possibility of him walking away, Scott free for nothing to a team that again is trying to win right now in the Brooklyn next to have talent that never been able to put it together. And it also helps him on the basketball court because that's actually something that Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving actually respect and would value their opinion.

Right, and he has a real chance of turning the Nets around. I get what you're saying about it being personal and sometimes it's, we've never thankfully been in that situation, neither of us, so it's easier to say when it's not been done to you. I still have a hard time thinking it's just that. So if you were going to allow something so you think what he did was really bad.

I am. Yes, I am on that side of it being really, really, really. So if that's the case, isn't there a responsibility by the owner of the Celtics to call up Josiah and say, you can't hire him because he did X, Y, or Z, or we think he did X, Y, or Z. That's on the Celtics. And maybe they have, and maybe Josiah said, thanks for the info and we'll see. Or maybe that's part of the reason why there's nothing been done yet.

You could say, oh, we're going to hire an email and then you find it again. No one is known, right? No one knows what happened. So it's not like the Nets would know beforehand what happened. Maybe they're thinking like you all, just wrong person, wrong time, out of the organization, but nothing criminal. Maybe once the report is out there and you see the Nets are interested, that maybe now they find the real truth. And if the Nets don't hire him, then I think Wick got on the phone and maybe it was worse than I'm tending to believe. But it feels as if this guy is going to get the job. And if he does, it doesn't add up that the Celtics thought this was that bad that you couldn't have him in your organization anymore, didn't want anything back from him. And then another team hires him.

It once again makes you wonder what actually happened. Sean Alexander joins us next.
