There's Resurrection Sunday of April. 2026. And tonight.

Well He could have been home, like everybody else, on Resurrection Sunday, enjoying that day, but It's duty called and He answered the call. My co-host, none other than Kenny. Hey, Kenny. How you doing? Good evening, Pastor.

I'm good evening. I figured if he was going to go to work, I would too. I might as well. If you're going to be here, I might as well show up, too. Yep.

We're going to. We'll make it the we'll make it worth our time tonight, won't we? Absolutely. The title of the message was He paid a debt. that he didn't know.

and he did a for a people that owed a debt that they couldn't pay. And we start tonight in Luke chapter 22. And we're gonna go through t uh Actually, three chapters tonight, so we're gonna have to really move fast.

Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which was called the Passover. And the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might kill him. for they feared the people. Then entered Satan unto Judas, surnamed Ascariot, being in the number of the twelve, And he went his way and commanded with the chief priest and came. Captain Sowy.

He might betray unto them. And they were glad, and they coveted to give him money. And he promised and sought opportunity to betray him, Unto them in the absence of the multitude.

Now Satan possessed Judas just as he had done. with the kings of Babylon and Tyre. Before Satan can enter, though, into the body of a living person. That person must kitty. have somehow made their Um selves recepti they had to make themselves receptive to his temptations and be willing to be possessed.

Now, that's not the same as being beguiled or tempted. That's that's something different altogether. Eve was tempted remember in the garden and when when the Lord asked her why she did what she did, she said, Well, the serpent beguiled me. In other words, deceived me. And here the temptation be willing.

No. Here The Jews believe that if the people were to follow Jesus, that the Romans would Consider it rebellion and would crush the rebellion and all the Jews right along with it. They wanted to wait until after the Passover. for fear of the people. But why couldn't why do you think they couldn't wait?

Their plan was to wait over the Passover, but that wasn't going to happen. Why do you think that wouldn't happen? Um because of prophecy.

Well, you're right. Jesus was the Passover Lamb. Yeah. It was so he had it had to be during Passover here. And so here He goes ahead, we see.

And then the day came when Of the unleavened bread when the Passover must be killed. Here And he sent Peter and John. Uh Thank you. Peter and John, go prepare us the Passover. that we may know.

Peter, John, and James were the inner circle. They were called the inner circle. They were always seemed together be together. Uh All the all the time, you know. They were together during Well, here d during the when they were in the garden on When Christ was praying When at his tomb they were together so here He goes on to say And as they entered into the city, Yeah.

I think you skipped the first ten. Oh, okay, yeah. Let me go back. And he sent Peter and John saying, Going pre I have a spot on my glass right where I had to look through there somehow, and I just cleaned them right. Anyhow, Prepare us a Passover that we may eat.

And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare? And he said unto them, Behold, Then he entered into the city, there Be a man meet you bearing a pitcher of water, follow him to the house, where he entered in, and ye shall Say unto the good men of the house, The Master saith, To the where is the guest chamber? whence I shall eat the Passover. And what with my disciples. And he shall show you a large supper room room or large upper room Furthest They're make ready.

And they went and they found as he had said unto them, and made ready the Passover. And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him. It is And he said unto them, With desire, I have desired to eat this Passover with you. before I suffer. For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.

And they're And they took the cup and gave thanks and said, Take this and divide it among yourselves. For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.

Now it's an interesting thing. Here He goes on to say And he took bread and gave thanks and broke it. And he gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you. This is still in remembrance of me. likewise also the cup, after supper saying, The cup is the new Testament in my blood, which is shed for you soon.

He was speaking metaphorically. Uh His he was not right. It was not his physical body He wasn't teaching cannibalism. Yeah. You're right.

Okay. But there those are Let me ask you this. is speaking metaphorically. Or symbolism is a symbolism Any Would it be any more meaningful if it were with literal fingers and flesh and l and blood? It would be much less, wouldn't it?

Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. And behold The hen of him That betrayeth Me is with me on the table. Here earlier remember, Satan had entered into Judas. And Truly the Son of Man goeth.

as he determined but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed. Why do you think Judas did what he did? Um Greed? Jealousy? Yeah, no, he had it no, it's about control, about power.

He was already Junas was already stealing from the treasury. And here He knew what Jesus could do. He knew, and he knew. He figured if he were to put Jesus in a position where Before he would allow himself to be crucified, he would destroy the Roman army. He knew that he He knew he had the power to do that, and And so Judith felt that that was the case, he Be in a position would would be in a p a place of power.

At the right hand of the Lord. But uh It didn't work that way. Because he He didn't understand and didn't listen to what the Lord Jesus had said. Remember, by this time three times the Lord had already told the disciples that he had to suffer and die, and be raised again. And they didn't they just it went over their heads.

They just it w they weren't grasping it. And they began to inquire among themselves which of them it was that should do this thing. In other words, Who is it that was going to be wh which of us will betray him? And there was also strife among them of them said, Of them should be It counted the greatest, and There you go, that's the power thing, the authority. And he said unto them, The kings and the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, that they may exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.

But you shall not be so. But he that is the greatest among you let him be as the younger. And he that is the chief As he that doth care.

So he's telling him, Look. You really want to know? Who's the greatest among you? You'll find now. It's the one who does who serves The most.

He goes on. For whether the greater is he that is uh sit at meat, or he that serveth, Is not he that setteth at meat for the But I am among you as he that serveth. In other words, Jesus is telling him, Look, You see what I'm doing? You are they which are continued with me. And my temptations.

And I appoint unto you A kingdom And my father hath appointed unto me that you may eat and drink at my table in the kingdom, and sat on the thrones judging the twelve tribes Of Israel.

Now here.

Now the promise relates to the Millennial Kingdom at the time Israel will be restored fully to the promised land, Kenny. with all the tribes and and be a Well, and the resurrected saints, that's us. We'll be there too, okay. And of the chart shades And according to of course, including the the twelve apostles he's talking to, They will judge The world And we see that in First Corinthians chapter 6. We're going to judge everything.

Every including angels, huh? Mm-hmm. And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold. Satan had desired to to have you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for thee that they fail not, And then thou, and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brother.

That's a very, very important verse there. when thou art converted, okay? Strengthen thy brother. And he says And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee both into prison and to death. And he said, I tell thee, Peter, The cock shall not crow this day before thou shalt thou shalt thrice deny that thou even knowest me.

Do you think Peter believed that at the time? No way. No, he was He was certain he was ready, you know. And But these next verses are very important verses too. And he said unto them, When I set you without purse, and scrip and shoes lacked you anything.

and they said nothing. Remember when he sent him out? He said, Go out. He said seventy. And they went out and he said, You know If if you get a mission, you say, Well, where's uh we need some money, you know, we we're gonna need uh to pay for a place to stay and some food, and he says don't worry about it.

Mm-hmm. Just go in.

Now the the houses, the homes you go to Those That receive you and take you in. There'll be a blessing. They'll receive a blessing. But those that Turn you away. Knock the dust off your feet.

it's not gonna end well for those people at all. Then said he unto them, But now he that hath a purse, let him take it and likewise his script, and he that hath a sword let him sell his garment and buy one For I say unto you, that this that is written must be yet be accomplished in me And he was reckoned among the transgressors, for the things concerning me have an end. That they said, Lord, behold, Here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.

So what do you think Peter heard? What Peter heard the Lord saying, In his mind was Tonight maybe even to night I'm gonna need Well you're going to need a sword to protect not o' me, And your and each other. This is what what Peter was hearing. Sell your garment. Do you know how serious do you know how many garments the Lord had?

One? Yeah, he had one. And most of those guys in those days, they didn't have a closet full of garments, okay? Uh, it wasn't like like we have it, okay. And Spending a night without a garment can get cold.

So when he when he says to sell your garment and buy a sword, That was a s a serious decision to make there, okay.

Well, of course, the Lord tells you to do it. It wasn't much of a decision. You just went ahead and did it. And so Here. And by the way, j when he said that.

He says, For I say unto you that this is written. It must be yet accomplished to me. that he was reckoned among the transgressors But things Concerning me have an end. He was quoting Isaiah fifty three, verse twelve, right there. And so He goes on to say.

And they came out and they went as he was wont, What do you think that word want means? He came out and he went as he was want. Would that be like kind of like going where you want to go. And actually that mean That word is the same word we use for accustom. as he was accustomed to doing as Because he regularly w they went up to the Mount of Olives.

To the Mount of Olives, and his disciples also followed him. And when he was when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that you enter not into temptation. What do you think that temptation would be? Uh to betray him? Absolutely.

That's it. You hit it.

Okay. And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down and prayed. saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me, Now listen to this, okay? Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me, nevertheless, not my will, but thine, be done. What do you think?

Uh Jesus was saying there.

Okay. Um kind of that if it If it be your will, you know. Let's forget about this whole thing. If there's any way to avoid this, if there's any way, he was thinking about.

something that we can't you and I can't even comprehend. There's no way In our human minds we can comprehend what it would be like to have The sins of a hundred billion people placed upon us to where we literally become sin. We become sin.

Okay. And now this is in a realm where you and I Uh You know, again. We can't even begin to. understand. And there appeared an angel.

Unto him. from heaven strengthening him. And being In agony he prayed more earnestly that and he swept as it was work great drops of blood falling down to the ground. Who was it that wrote this book of Luke? Uh Luke.

All right, okay, there you go. Hand up, you you are on tonight. All right. I've got it.

Okay, but now what was Luke was known. For two things, what was he known for? Oh, uh being very descriptive. He was his accuracy, but he was also a physician.

Now This is the only one of the Gospels that talks about uh blood. sweat and dropping sweats of blood, okay? And he would have uh uh being a physician, he would have known this. And you're right, he he's known for Absolute accuracy. Uh in fact he talks about h writing as being perfect.

All first hand testimony knows Second hand witnesses, no no hearsay. Everything was documented, everything was first hand. He goes on to say And when he arose up From prayer, and was coming to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow. And said unto them, Why sleep you? Rise and pray, lest you enter into temptation.

Again he's telling him, Get prepared, pray, pray, ask the the Pray to the Father, ask for strength. You're going to need a lot of strength here, okay? And so And Judas betrays Christ. And while he yet spake, behold, a multitude. and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.

And Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of Man with a kiss?

Now, you know what? We've already seen about a half a dozen of prophecies already been fulfilled here about the Lord Jesus just so far. And when they And when they were about him When they that were about him saw what would follow. They said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword? and one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.

That was Malchus.

Now remember Here, the Lord had the Lord knew that this was going to happen. He knew that Peter was going to have that sword. And here But here, now it didn't say here, but in the other Gospels it tells you. That When they approached Jesus, He stepped forward towards them, and they all fell back. Uh shouldn't have that been assigned to them.

Who he was? You would think. Yeah, you would think so. But now if you mister that Then you see Malchus's ear get cut off ye see Jesus take the ear stick it back on and heal it. That would have made a believer out of me.

Big time. Yep. And so And he answered and Jesus answered, Suffer ye this far. And he touched the ear, and healed him. Then Jesus said unto the chief priests and the captains of the temple, And the elders which were to come to him.

But you come out As a guest is a thief. with swords and stays Now here's another one. The prophecy fulfilled. And when I was standing with you in the temple, you stretched forth your hands against me. You stretch forth no hands against me.

But this is your hour and the power of darkness.

So when he says this is your hour. What do you think he means? Um Kinda like your Sneaking around in the dark. No, this was the hour that he was referring to. that the Gentiles Uh For what if his His human enemies.

had been planning But also for the hour the power of darkness, that of Satan and all his dark powers. at the same time. It was also the hour for which Christ had come into this world. He came to the world for this purpose. And so Then they took Him and they let him and brought him and two.

the high priest's house. and Peter followed after. Afar off. And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and they were set down together. Peter sat down amongst them.

But a certain maid beheld him, as he sat by the fire. and earnestly looked upon him. And said, This man was also with him. And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not. Boy, this this would ooh, well.

Mm-hmm. And after a little while, another saw him and said. Thou art also of them. And Peter said, Men, I am not. In about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying Of a truth This fellow also is with him, for he is a Galilean.

And Peter said, Man I know not what thou sayest and immediately While he yet spoke, the cock crew.

Now remember Jesus had said to Peter earlier, And when you are converted, Peter, when you are converted? And the Lord turned and looked upon Peter. This is the only passage where you see here. where the Lord takes and he turns and he looks upon Peter.

Now can you imagine if you're Peter? Yeah. And Peter remembered the word of the LORD, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And Peter wept and went out, And he wept bitterly. I believe this is where Peter got saved, right here.

This is where he got saved, because after this. Peter's as bold as a lion after this. And the men that held Jesus mocked him and smote him. And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is he that smote thee? And many other things.

Blaspheming bleth me spake they against him. And as soon as it was day, The elders of the people and the chief priests. This is the Sanhendron. And the scribes came together and led him into the their council. Art thou the Christ tell us And he said unto them, If I tell you, you will not believe me.

And if I also ask you, will you not answer me? Nor let me go. Hereafter shall the Son of Man sit on the right hand of the power of God.

So he's telling them, okay.

Well What he what he's telling them They should have understood this. I mean, they should have by now. They've been slapped in the face how many times with the fact that he is the suffering Messiah of Isaiah fifty three. He is going to be the conquering lord okay They They've seen all of the prophecies that he fulfilled, one after the other. They had the word literally spelled out for them.

And uh And of all all people, they should know it. These people, these guys should know. exactly the prophecies and and everything. Absolutely. And they said, What need we any further witness, for we ourselves have heard out of his own mouth?

You weren't listening. You should have been listening closer. And the whole multitude of them arose and Led him to under pilot. And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this fellow Perverting the nation and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying, that He Himself is Christ is a King. And Pilate asked him, saying, Art thou the king of the Jews?

And he answered him and said, Thou sayest it And and you know, here it's a it's a Uh You know, I learned a a a lot by reading scripture because you know how many times I used to get drug in the c in the court for saving babies. But just preaching out there in the streets Uh Time and time the corrupt, corrupt, corrupt judicial system They, you know, even charged me with recall three times, tried to because I was saving babies, doing the Lord's work, if the pastors in this country had had the courage to do that. We wouldn't have all those dead babies, but they've failed God. with a with a dearth of courage. Then said Pilate to the chief priest.

And to the people. I find no fault in this man. And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirreth up the people. Teaching throughout jewellery. beginning from Galilee to this place.

So when Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man was a Galilean. and as soon as he knew that he belonging to Herod's jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod. who himself also I was at Jerusalem at that time.

So At this time it was Herod and Pilate are not they're not friends at all, okay? Uh I don't know. Pilate didn't like the fact that Rome had Had allowed Harrod to pee. In the Huronian To be a king of the Jews there. And so Here.

Uh He decided, well. I'll just send him over to Herod. I'm not going to, I don't want to have anything to do. Remember, yeah, let him deal with it. The pilot's own wife had told him she had a dream.

to to not to have anything to do with this just man. In this dream.

Now, Pilot was given a chance. He was given an opportunity here. And he blew it. And when Herod saw Jesus, they see. Herod had heard a lot about Jesus.

He heard about all the miracles that he had done. And he was hoping to to see Jesus do some miracles. And when Herod saw Jesus he was exceedingly glad, for he was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard Many things of him. and he hoped to have seen some miracles done by him. Then he questioned with him.

in many words, but he answered him nothing. There you go. That's a another Uh is it uh Another prophecy fulfilled. He would be uh dumb like a l he would be dumb. He In other words, he was would not answer.

He would be in Isaiah fifty three. And the chief priests and the scribes stood and vehemently accused him. And Herod With the men of war Set him at naught and marked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate, So now Herod had heard Their pilot had found Uh No fault with this man, and so Herod's saying the same thing. You know, I have to agree with Pilate here. I don't find any fault with this man.

And that and that day and the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together. for before they were enmity between themselves, so Here uh they found something that they could agree on, that there was They could neither one of them could find any fault with the Lord Jesus, okay. And Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers, And the people said unto them, You have brought this man Unto me is one that perverteth the people, and behold, I have examined him before you and have found no fault. in this man and touching those things Wherein you are accused.

Now So, Pilate's going to be given a choice here to do the right thing. Uh I mean I don't know about you. Yes, I do. There's no way in the world I can say, Look, this is a just man, this is an innocent man. But I'm gonna have him crucified anyway.

Yeah. Okay. I couldn't live without. No, nor yet, Herod, for I sent you to him. And lo nothing worthy of death is done unto him.

I will therefore chastise him and release him. For of necessity we must release one unto them at the feast. That was the tradition that they had that they would release one prisoner Uh before the feast that they would have. And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, releasing to us Barabbas.

Now Barabbas was a You know, he then. He was a murderer. Yeah, he was a. Uh a known murderer. Does this sound listen, does this not sound like our courts today?

Yes, absolutely. Does this sound just like our Democratic those Democratic judges today? They release killers, release murderers. And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man and release him to his barabaras. A certain sedition made in a city and for the murder was cast into prison.

Pilot therefore willing to release. Jesus spake again unto them, But they cried, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. And he said unto them, The third time. Why, what evil hath he done? I have found.

no cause of death in him. And I will therefore chastise him and let him go. But they were instant with their loud voices requiring that he might be Crucified and the voices of them of the chief priests prevailed, What do you think it was that they had said to Pilate that that made Pilate change his mind? There was something that that they said to him. You read in the other Gospels.

Um, wasn't it that if uh if he releases them, that they'll go to Caesar and s say that this guy proclaimed himself a king and Uh pilot did nothing about it.

Well, they'll go and they'll say Yeah, because this Jesus, he's telling people there. Not to pay tribute, not to pay A tithe of taxes to you, Caesar. That's what Potter's doing. And so, how do you think Caesar would have felt about that? He probably would have executed Pilate.

Yeah. And so Uh pilot now's got the pressure on him. And they were instant. with loud voices requiring that he might be crucified. and the voices of them and the other chief priests prevailed, and Pilate gave sentence that he It should be as they required.

and he released it to them to him, that for sedition and murder was cast into prison, whom they had desired, but he delivered Jesus to their will. I gotta take I gotta wet my whistle. This is the third time today. I'm preaching, it's okay. And as they led him away.

They laid upon him Simon the Cyrenian. Coming out of the country. And on him they laid the cross, that he might bear Bear it after Jesus. Simon had two sons. Uh Later we sit we read.

And there followed him a great company of people, and of women. which also bewailed and lamented him. They were little they had more tolerance Were the women in those days The Romans would would let the women get away with more than they would the men, okay. And it it's kinda just Our na you know, human nature, I guess. But Jesus.

Turning it to them now. He's going to say speak. And from this point on, before he dies, seven times, he's going to speak to the people. But Jesus, turning unto them, said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me. but weep for yourselves and for your children.

For behold, the days are coming. In the which they shall say, Blessed are they that are barren. And the wounds that never bear and the paths which never gave suck. Then shall they begin to say To the mountains following us And to The hills cover us.

Now one of these things he said, and the first thing he said was going to happen in the the very near future. And that was in seventy AD. When Titus came in and Destroyed the temple. Mm-hmm. And Uh Tried to eliminate all the juice.

But the next thing when they're going to be saying, follow us. Um and to the hills cover us. That's during the tribulation period. That's during the tribulation period when It's gonna be so tough. The Democrats are going to be begging for the.

Uh to be buried by the mountains, to to avoid the very stare of Jesus. And there were also two other malefactors led with him. It's a big And when they were come to the place which is called Calvary. There they crucified him and the malefactors. one on the right hand and the other on the left.

So The one on the right hand, well We'll read, we'll read here. He got saved that day. But the one on the left He didn't uh He didn't fare so well. Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them for they know not what they do, Who do you think uh He was talking about forgive who? Um for Forgive everyone.

Wouldn't it be? Wouldn't it be the uh Uh No, it's the re the rest of the verse answers the questions. And they parted his remnant and cast lots. It was those Roman soldiers. Yeah.

How do we know that? Remember When he was on the cross what they said, Let His blood be upon us and our children.

Now if the Lord Jesus had said, Forgive these people Then Well, you know the history of the Jews. It hasn't been a real easy one. It's been pretty rocky, to say the least. Yeah, they're. Their blood was upon them He that's exactly what happened.

It was his blood was upon them. And so He goes on. And the people stood beholding, and the rulers also with them, decried him, saying, He saved others, let him save himself, if he be Christ. And the chosen of God. And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him and offered him vinegar.

Now Yeah. Uh Here in the other gospels they talk about They offered him Vinegar But Do you remember what they what it was that they offered him vinegar with? Wasn't it a sponge? N no well, there was one case where they did actually with a sponge. But others hyssop.

where they offered him Oh, vinegar with a hyssop. What's a hysshop? Hyssop. They they took Vinegar on the hyssop and and and offered him. And what is what what would it you do you think would be uh The significance of that.

I'm not sure. I'm not sure what a hyssop is. Hyssop is a. It makes a it's a plant that medicine is made out of herbs. It's an herb that medicine's made out of.

And um We it's still being used a lot today, but At the Passover, when the Lord took him out of Egypt. The night of the he sent out the death angels, they took hyssop. and with his hip had put the blood of the lamb on the door posts, So in all the houses that had the blood of the Lamb, the death angel passed over. But it was hyssop and here He goes on to say And the soldiers also mocked him coming into him and offered him vinegar. and saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself.

and a superscription was also written Over his In letters of Greek and of Latin and of Hebrew. This is the king of the Jews, okay? Uh In other words, that the The In the other Gospels it has the full message. This was Jesus. The King of the Jews.

And so he goes on to say And one of the malefactors which was hanged rallied on him, saying. If thou be Christ save us, Save thyself and us. But the other answer rebuked him saying, Dost not thou fear God? Seeing now that art in the in the same condemnation. and we indeed justify, for we receive the due reward of our deeds but this man hath done nothing amiss.

And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me, when thou comest to thy kingdom, And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in Paradise. Um They would die. That day, and the soul of the unrepentant thief would descend into Hades to await condemnation. In the judgment day, the other, because of his trust in Christ, would go. with him into paradise, or Abraham's bosom, as it was called.

While there the Lord would proclaim his victory, to many imprisoned evil angels Confined there in chains of darkness. First Peter three nineteen He would then set free the souls of those who who had died in the faith, Taking them and their uh and their paradise with him into the third heaven and carryin' him With him the keys of hell. End of death Revelation one eighteen Now, how do you know That it was the thief on the left. That that Went to hell. But the thief on the right was the one that repented.

How did you know? Because it didn't say that here. How did you know? Um I mean, well, we can look at Throughout scripture, the the right and the left, the differences between the two. Yeah.

Because Jesus said those on his right will inherit the kingdom, those on his left won't fare too well. You think somebody should tell the Democrats? Yeah. I don't think they'd listen even if you tried to tell 'em. Hmm.

You're probably right. And And Jesus said unto him, Well, let me go. And it was about at the sixth hour. And there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. And the sun was darkened.

and the veil of the temple was rent in the mists, Ewen Jesus had cried with a loud voice, This is the seventh time that he spoke been lacrosse. Father, unto thy hands I commend my spirit. and having said that he gave up the ghost. No. How do you know that the veil of the temple was rent by God?

Because it was Ripped from the top down, correct? Yeah. The Veil of the Temple was eleven to fourteen feet high and was from four to six inches thick. Oh. and it would have to be tested with teams of oxen and The only one that could have done that would be God Himself.

Now, what was the significance of that? What happened at that time? One dispensation ended and another started at that very moment. What do you think it was? Um Well, it began the church age, correct?

Right.

So that's the sixth dispensation. The the the fifth dispensation the the law, the age of the law. had ended right there.

So at this time There was no more office The office of the priest The duty of the priest was to what? You were to take your sacrifice to the priest, and he was to offer it up. Mm-hmm. For at this time there would be no more blood sacrifice, Jesus' blood. Uh It was the final sacrifice.

Now at this time the windavail rent, We became a nation of priests, all born-again believers, all saved people. became a nation. Peter called us Uh of holy stones, okay. And so we go directly We pray directly to the Father, and we have one intercessor, one and one only, the only intercessor between man and God is the Lord Jesus Christ. And so Now when the centurion saw What was done?

He glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man. And all the people that came together To that sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts. and returned. and all his acquaintance, and all the women that followed him, from Galilee stood afar off, beholding these things. And behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor, and he was a good man.

and it was Joseph of Armathea. And the same had not consented, To the Consul. He was a member of the San Hindred, along with Nicodemus, the two of them. They had worked together and they had prepared. you know, this for for weeks.

It had to be because You didn't hollow out a sepulcher. Uh You know In one day it took a long time, to holl to make uh open uh uh his tomb, uh to hollow out his tomb. The same had not consented to the consul, indeed. And He was of Arimathea, the city of the Jews. and also himself waited for the kingdom of God.

For this man went into Pilate and begged the body of Jesus. And he took it down and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre, and was hewn into stone wherein never a man before was laid, That's another. prophecy fulfilled right there. And that day was the preparation And the Sabbath drew on.

So now Let me ask you a question. Was the Was this Sabbath Was it The the s the Sabbath of the Passover. There were about five Sabbaths observed during that, okay. Uh of the of Passover? The unleavened bread, Or was it the s the uh seventh day Sabbath?

What do you think? Because You say if it was the Sabbath of the Passover, then that you could have been Then He could have been crucified on Wednesday. On Wednesday And therefore, three days and three nights, like Scripture said, he would have been in the ground three days and three nights. But Had it been The Passover, the Sabbath. Then this would have had to have been done on Friday.

He would have to be crucified because the Sabbath is Saturday. Seventh day.

So tell us, Kenny, which is it? Um I'll say the first one.

Well, that's the opinion. That is one that's one of the That's what I hold to, too. And most all your fundamentalist Baptists hold to that. Uh And the women also which came with him from Galilee followed after. and beheld a sepulchre, and how his body was laid.

And they returned and prepared spices and ointments. and arrested in the Sabbath day according to The commandment.

Okay. Here now.

So this one here. Uh This is uh Sabbath. Was was it the Passover or was it the seventh day?

Now upon the first day of the week. Very early in the morning They came into The sepulchre bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. And they found the stone rolled away. From the sepulchre. And they entered in and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

And it came to pass as they that were A much perplexed Whereabout, behold, two men. stood by them in shining garments.

Now Here it says two men stood by them in shining garments.

Okay. Now In Matthew twenty eight, two says that there were There was an angel there, and Mark says it was A young man And the two on the road to immensely. Emmaus said that the Woman has seen visions of angels some So what do you think? What is going on here? Um It was probably I would say probably angels, just different interpretations of what people saw.

Well Often it's you know, in scripture Men were referred to, our angels were referred to as men, and vice versa. For example, And Daniel when Daniel had been praying and praying, And finally Gabriel shows Gabriel shows up the uh and uh He says to Daniel, I was dispatched the very first day you started praying. I was dispatched. but I was held up by the Prince of Persia. That means it could have been the Aitola.

No, actually, it was. It was Satan. Until Michael the Archangel came and released him. But he referred, Daniel referred to Gabriel as the man Gabriel, the man Gabriel.

Okay. But then, if you go over to Revelation chapter 3 and you read the angels of the seven churches, that word angels means. in the Greek, also in the Hebrew, messenger, the messenger. And so the seven angels of the seven churches were their pastors, which were men. But here note Uh Like if you read over in Zachariah four fourteen.

about the two witnesses, the two anointed ones that stand By the Lord of the whole earth. Uh there are some that that believe that that that's who these two were, okay? Uh Others believe they could well be Enoch and Elijah. Enoch and Lijah. Uh two witnesses.

And so But here I'm going to go along where they were just two angels. Do you know why? Because that's what it says?

Well Boom. Because let me read that the by them in shining garments, in shining garments, And as they were afraid, and they bowed down their faces to the earth, and they said unto them, Why seeketh you the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen. Remember how He spake unto you when he was yet with you in Galilee. Saying, The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of the sinful man.

and be crucified, and the third day rise again. And they remembered the words, and they returned from the sepulchre and told all these things into the eleven, To and to all the rest. And it was Mary Magdalen And Joanna, well, at that time, there were at least three Marys there that night, that three Marys. And Mary the mother of James, and the other women that were with them, Uh And so one of those Neres we know was the wife of Cleopas. And it goes on to say.

And Mary the Magdalene and Joanna and Mary are the other the mother of James and Other women were there with them, and which told these things unto the apostles, And the words seemed to be as idle tales and they believe them not. They thought, well These were like old wives' tales. Then arose Peter and ran into the sepulcher, and stooping down, he beheld. the linen clothes laid by themselves and departed wondering in himself at that which was come to pass. and behold two of them That went.

Uh And behold, two of them went that day. that same day to a village called Umaus, which was from Jerusalem about three score furlongs, Do you know how far a three score furlings would be? About eight miles. Be a buddy Miles. They did a lot of walking in those days.

And they talked together of all these things which had happened. And it came to pass that while they. Commune together. and reasoned Jesus himself drew near and went with him. But their eyes were holding that they should not see him.

Jesus had done that before, remember? The first time he preached they picked up stones. and he walked right through the midst of them. They couldn't see him. He made himself invisible.

And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that you Have one to another as you walk, and are sad And one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answered and said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come? to pass therein in this day. And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and and word from God in all the people. and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.

But we trusted that it had been He that should have redeemed Israel. And beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done. yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were Early at the sepulcher, and when they found not his body, they came saying. that they he had also seen A vision of angels which said he was alive. and certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre and found it even as so, as the women had said, but him they saw not.

Now listen to this. Then he said unto them, O fools slow of heart to believe All that the prophets have spoken Ought not Christ to have to suffer these things? And enter not into his glory. In other words, he's telling them, you had all of the prophecy, you had it all. And you still didn't see it.

You still didn't understand. It was literally spelled out for you. And beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them. in all the Scripture the things concerning himself. And they drew nigh unto the village whither they went.

and he made as though that he would have gone further, but they constrained him, saying, Abide with us, for it is toward evening. The day is far spent, and he went in to Terry with them. And it came to pass as he sat at meat with them, he took bread and blessed it. and brake and gave them. And their eyes were opened, and they knew him.

and he vanished out of their sight. And they said to one another, Did not our heart burned within us while we talked with him, By the way, And while he opened up the scriptures, We're out of time tonight. I want to wish you all a blessed, blessed Uh Resurrection Sunday. Until then. Always, always, always.
