Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right, let's talk. A daily program powered by the Truth Network. This is kind of a great thing and I'll tell you why. Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together.
Speak your mind. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host. What is your favorite Christmas Bible verse? Like, what is it that, you know, stirs that Christmas thought process in your heart? And this is a live show and it's just not the same without your calls, so if you would call and join in this Christmas spirit today with your favorite Christmas Bible verse, we would love to hear it. And I have here with me, Mr. Christmas Bible verse himself, Dr. Duane, date the word Carson.
I've never called that before. Dr. Duane, date the word Carson. So, yeah, and today, you've got the 25 Days of Christmas. We recorded this for this month.
We're so excited to have Date the Word on the Truth Network. And so, today's a huge one, like, gigantic. So, lay it on us. Well, today, we're in the day six of the 25 days, 25 verses. Right. Till Christmas. And Isaiah 9-6, it just doesn't get any better than this one. For unto us a child is born. There's the Christmas. And then unto us a son is given. And that's going to put us to John 3-16.
For God so loved the word that he gave. And Jesus is going to give his life. And the government will be upon his shoulders.
He's going to be a ruler. And his name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Those four descriptive words, Robbie, they're so descriptive of what God does for us. And I think it was John MacArthur who said in his commentary that this one verse really sums up that God can take care of any and everything you will ever need taken care of. One verse, Isaiah 9-6. What a Christmas verse. Not all Christmas verses are found in Matthew chapter 1, Matthew chapter 2, Luke 1, Luke 2.
Now they're the four big ones, obviously. You want to read Matthew chapter 1 and 2 and Luke 1 and 2. But there are verses all through our Bible from Genesis all the way through up Hebrews, 1 John has awesome verses about the Christmas story. And I'm with you. I want to hear somewhere. Call us. Call in and give us your favorite Christmas verse. 866-348-7884. That's a phone number.
You've got to dial it. Like, I know you've got one, and you've been thinking about it. And you can share it, and you can share why that's important to you. We would love, and you can encourage, maybe somebody else will adopt your verse as their verse.
It's wonderful stuff. The number to call, which we want you to call, 866-348-7884. And you think about it, Isaiah 6, right? Isaiah 9. No, follow me. So Isaiah 6, right?
He gets clean lips. And we actually, I was at a Bible study last night, we were talking about that verse. And when I went and looked up that word, as you know I would, that word for lips is actually the word language. Okay. It's language.
Right. So in Genesis, at the Tower of Babylon, right, it said it confused their language. Well, it confused their lips.
You know, it's the same word in Hebrew. And so as you begin to think about this, that the seraphim came with this tong from the altar and cleaned his lips, right? And so just three verses prior to, which cleaned his language, which to me, you know, when God confused the language, he actually, you know, got it to where we have misunderstandings all the time.
All the time. Like if you're in any relationship and you don't have a misunderstanding once or twice a day, it's really unusual because, you know, but here when God commissioned Isaiah, he touched his lips so that they would be completely clean. So when he delivers this in Isaiah 9, right, this is pure stuff, man.
And it's fascinating to me. A couple things about that verse that just jump out at me. You mentioned John 3.16, right? For God so loved the world, he gave his only begotten what? Son. Son. Right. And so it's not just a child that's born to us. It's a son.
Yes. But it's interesting that one of his names is Everlasting Father. And, you know, that when you get the son and then you got the father and Jesus is being heartbroken, right, there that time, you know, he says, well, wait a minute, when you've seen me, you've seen the father.
Like really, you know, and isn't that cool? I think it's absolutely beautiful and very exciting. We have Zondra is in Jacksonville, Florida, has got a verse for us. Zondra, you're on Truth Talk Live. Good evening. Hi. Good evening. And thank you for taking my call. Oh, we are so grateful that you did call.
And believe me, the two of us are sitting here on, you know, the edge of our seats wanting to hear what you got. Well, my favorite, favorite Bible verse. And it goes for every day. It goes for Thanksgiving.
It goes for Christmas, even for the New Year. John three, verse 16. Oh, yes, yes, yes. God told us the world that he gave his only begotten son. I just, I just think that that verse just, it covers the entire Bible. That's it.
You couldn't be more right. And you know what's coming up, Zondra? This year in 2025, there's a new holiday for you. 3-16, right, Doc?
Yes. I don't know if your pastor has heard this, but if you don't mind on Sunday, let him know this. March the 16th, 2025 is a Sunday. And we are encouraging every pastor in the world to preach their best John 3-16 message on 3-16. What do you think of that? I think that is awesome.
Awesome. Oh, and I think your verse is absolutely awesome. And you're right. There's a verse that fits every holiday.
In fact, it even fits my birthday. Thank you, Zondra. I appreciate your call so much.
You have a great, great Christmas season. We need your calls. 866-348-7884.
What's your favorite Bible verse? 866-344-TRUTH. We'll be right back. You're listening to the Truth Network and truthnetwork.com. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live! Today's show is so fun.
What is your favorite Christmas Bible verse? You call us with that. We would love, love, love to hear it. 866-348-7884. 866-348-7884. Again, with my good friend, Dr. Duane, Date the Word Carson. And we've got Logan is in Pennsylvania, so I'm excited to hear Logan's favorite Bible verse. Logan, you're on Truth Talk Live. Good evening. Hi. Hi, Logan. I recognize your voice. Oh, wow. This is my grandson.
The grandson. So it's Logan, Date the Word Carson. Yes, Peterson.
All right, Logan, Date the Word Peterson. Do you have a favorite Christmas verse? Yeah, Luke 2.11. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior which is Christ the Lord. Oh, man, that was beautiful. What a great verse. Yeah, Linus is going to have to take a back seat from now on.
Yes, he is. It's now Logan's world. Because, Logan, that was off the hook, man. So, Logan, why do you like that verse so much?
What does it tell us? That Jesus is our Savior. Wow. And he's a Savior for every person in the world. Isn't that awesome? We just heard a lady from Jacksonville and her favorite verse was John 3.16. For God so loved the world.
And so he's a Savior for the entire world. So is your mom there? Does she have a favorite Christmas verse? I do. Well, hi, Christy.
Hi, Dad. What's your favorite Christmas verse? Isaiah 9.6. Oh, wow. Well, then, since that's what we've been talking about. Yes. Well, lay it on us.
We want to hear it. Isaiah 9.6. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon his shoulder, and his name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. That's beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Well, that is awesome. We are so grateful for your family and all – date the word family. Well, thank you, guys.
Logan, I am so proud of you, man. That is just amazing. Great job. Thank you.
Yeah. We're going to send you out a date the word calendar. By the way – Can we give a donation first? No, you can if you want. Well, you can.
But we failed to mention that everybody that calls in with their Bible verse is going to get a date the word calendar. So, Logan, I know that's going to be looking great in your room. We all have a good evening. Yes. Thanks for calling.
Yes, yes. We appreciate it very, very much. God bless. Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas. Bye-bye. So, what's yours? We need more calls, man.
Maybe you have a child like Logan that has one. Oh, we love that. The number to call, 866-348-7884. And if you call with yours, yes, we have a date the word 2025 calendar for you, which is surely going to highlight 3-16. I can assure you that it's going to be that Sunday coming up. But there's all sorts of features to this calendar, aren't there, Doc?
There is. And the thing that's different on this year is we have a QR code where you can just every day just go to that QR code and you'll see the – go right to the daily devotional that's on the verse that's for that date. And then you have hanging right there beside you the ability at any time to give someone their birthday verse. Right, right. Callers, call in and we'll send you a date the word 2025 calendar. Date the word calendar. And it's amazing witnessing too, right? Like it's just so easy. When's your birthday?
Yeah, when's your birthday? And you share somebody's Bible verse and they're like, man, I never thought about that. It's one of those resources that's right there. Again, if you want one of these, all you've got to do is call us with your favorite Bible verse. 866-344 – the favorite Bible verse for Christmas. For Christmas, for Christmas.
That's what we're doing this season. 866-348-7884, 866-348 – 7884, we've got another call coming in. But while they're on hold, Doc, what's – you know, you can go ahead and spill the beans.
Tell us, what is Dr. Carson's favorite Bible verse? I'm curious. Well – Well, wait a minute. We did – we got Vivian in Georgia. Okay. Well, we had Vivian in Georgia and then it went to not Vivian in Georgia.
But we'll get to Vivian in – just go ahead, Doc. Well, there are so many. And again, I have a list on a Christmas card that we do every year.
Goes one down through 25. I've always loved 1 John 3, 5 for some reason. 1 John 3, 5 says, and you know that he was manifested to take away our sins. And in him there is no sin. That word manifested. Again, the idea he tabernacled with us. He became flesh. He's going to come into this world with a purpose, to take away sin. And there's only one way he can do that.
He has to become our substitute. And it's so true. It's not a cliché. Jesus Christ was born to die because I was born to die. I'm going to die in my sins. But with Jesus, he dies for my sins and now he'll give me life. So I've always liked 1 John 3, 5. I love it.
Absolutely. Well, we finally got Vivian here. Vivian is in Georgia. Hello. Vivian, how are you?
We would love to – I'm doing fine. We would love to hear your Bible verse. My Bible verse is Romans 5 and 8. Come on now. Oh, that's awesome. Which is?
Yes. And it goes, but God showed his love for us in this while we were still sinners. Christ died for us. Yeah, we were just talking about that. And you know, it's a very interesting thing, Vivian.
I don't know if you've ever put this together. I really hadn't until this week that Jesus was wrapped for Christmas. We know that. In swaddling clothes. And he was wrapped by Mary and Joseph. But fascinatingly, when he died, he was wrapped again by who? Another Mary and another Joseph. Isn't that amazing?
Yes. Oh, Vivian, I love your verse. On my Christmas card this year in the list, day 8 is Romans 5, 8.
Because God did. He demonstrated his love. Christmas is a love story.
And we are sending you out a calendar, Vivian. Great work. And you have a blessed Christmas. God bless you so much. Thank you.
You always will. God bless you all. Thank you. God bless. Bye-bye. We got Richard is in Ohio.
Richard, you're on Truth Talk Live. How are you guys doing? Oh, we're doing better now that you've called. So we're excited to hear.
We are. We love these Christmas Bible verses. What's yours? My favorite Bible verse, I'm a little bit past her there, is Romans 12, 2. And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. And ye shall prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Oh, wow, wow. Richard, can you hang on? Because we want to talk about that verse.
Can you hang on with us throughout the break? That would be wonderful. And so we're going to get back to Richard here in a minute, but we need your verse. And you can get a calendar, one of these Date the Word calendars. You call us 866-348-7884.
866-348-7884. We've got more Bible verses. Christmas coming up.
Stay tuned. Well, welcome back to Truth Talk Live. Today's question is, what is your favorite Christmas Bible verse?
What is your favorite Christmas Bible verse? We would love for you to call in without yours. And we've got a Date the Word calendar for you. All you've got to do is call 866-348-7884.
866-348-7884. We've still got Richard in Ohio. And repeat yours for us, Richard. Romans 12 and 2. And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.
That ye may prove what is, that is good and acceptable and perfect will of God. I mean, it sounds like, Richard, that you've had a chance to experience some of that. Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah. First hand. First hand. I've learned it by hearing it, and then I've learned it by experiencing it. By going around the wrong people and seeing the Word trying to be snatched out of me. And then I've seen it going through the desert and having to remind myself of the Word to make it through it. And when you go through these struggles, keeping that Word and repeating that Word and studying that Word and meditating on that Word is the only way to keep your mind sane because the enemy will come in as soon as you learn it to try to tell you, that ain't real.
That ain't what you need to know. That's my favorite scripture because I have to keep renewing it daily. Oh, yeah.
They all are like that. But once you've tasted it, then you can see it. Taste and see. And when you tasted it, which is so clear that you have, I can sense that you're being renewed. And the more that we can do that, I know you agree with me, Doc. The more time we spend here, the more peace, the more love, all that fruit, it comes from intimacy. We've got to have the Word of God in us as the seed brings forth the fruits of the Spirit. Richard, I just want you to know on the Date the Word calendar for December the 2nd, 12-2, is Romans 12-2. That's the verse you'll see on the calendar that you're going to be getting.
Yeah, absolutely. We're going to get that out to you, Richard. Thank you so much for holding on for us through the break. And we're so grateful for your call. God bless you. Have a wonderful Christmas. You too.
God bless you, Doc. All right. Bye-bye. All right. We need yours.
866-348-7884, 866-348-7884. And I get you might be wondering, but you might not be. Now, Robbie, what's your favorite Bible for? I'm wondering, Robbie. I want to know.
You asked me mine. Yeah, well, it's Micah 5-2. Micah 5-2. It's a prophecy, of course, and it's in the Old Testament. And the way it reads is, But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you come for me one who will be a ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old ancient times.
And so, Robbie, why is that your favorite? Well, when I learned, I probably learned it the second or third year that I came to Christ, that Bethlehem meant house of bread. House of bread. And l'ham meaning house, and l'ham meaning bread. And I thought, well, isn't that amazing, because when we take communion, right, we're going to break the bread, and Jesus certainly fed the 5,000. And so Bethlehem has all those aspects to being the house of bread, yet it also is the place where they breed the Passover lambs.
That's right. And it is also the place that David was born. And it is also the place where Rachel died. And it's loaded with pictures of what all Bethlehem would become. And, you know, the neat thing is it's still there today.
Rachel's tomb is still there to this day. And then he was born in a manger, a feeding trough, you know, in the house of bread. You know, it's like taking a picture of tasting and seeing all the way through this season. And so you may know this, Dr. Carson, that my word for 2024, I ask for a word of the year from God every year. And I start in the beginning of December of what's my word going to be for 2024? And his word was vision.
Vision, okay. And I thought, you know, he was going to give me some kind of wonderful vision for what my life would be in the upcoming months, years, whatever the case may be. And I can tell you, my life has never been more confusing.
December 6th of 2024. However, you know, I spent a week at man camp with Nikita Koloff in October. I helped staff that event. And I spent a lot of alone time and asking God, you know, help me. I've been working on this taste, you know, and what is my vision?
What are you trying to show me? Study the word in Hebrews, 16 ways to Sunday, eyes, all that stuff. You know, all of a sudden I start that verse, taste and see, taste and see. And all of a sudden I realized, oh, when I experience, when I truly taste, then I get to see. And the vision is just so easily connected that whatever it is, if you're tasting his word, like I hope you're doing with your Bible verse right now, is you're thinking about calling us at 866-348-7884 because we need another call, we need another verse.
That's just so exciting. There's so many great verses. If I taste, then I can see. And it's that way when you think about it with any verse that you go to study or any verse that you go to memorize. And like you had said, it's a great time of year to memorize verses with children.
Like, you know, for God so loved the world, so easy, but so beautiful, right? But when you taste the verse, then you get to see the verse. If you don't ever really taste it, then, you know, do you see what I'm saying?
Because you've got to experience it. Some people read Scripture, but they don't read it. You've got to read it, eyes open. Psalms 119, 118, open my eyes that I may behold wondrous things from your word. And you're taking the word as like you said, it's bread. And you chew on it, you meditate on it, and it comes to life.
God's word comes to life. Bethlehem, we get a song, Old Little Town of Bethlehem, and it kind of sticks in our head. It's just a little town. There's a whole lot more to it. And you were saying about Rachel, there's also Ruth, Robbie.
Oh, yeah. Ruth was brought back there. Why did Ruth end up in Bethlehem? Because at one point, Naomi and her family was living in a famine. The house of bread didn't have any bread. So they go to Moab.
Now they come back with Ruth. And what she's doing, she's gleaning, once again having bread. And she's in the line to Jesus, one of the great women in the line to Jesus. So Bethlehem, when you think of it for part of that Christmas story, there's so much more that happened there than just Jesus being born there.
And it is. It's the city of David. And David would have got experience there killing bears and lions that would lead him down to a field later to kill a giant. So if you ever go to Bethlehem, we go out to the shepherd's fields where David would have been. And then there were the shepherd's fields where the first big announcement took place.
And somebody could be calling in and tell us about Luke 2, 13 and 14. Oh, we got Scott is in Missouri. Like, wow, that's exciting. Scott, you're on Truth Talk Live. Good afternoon. Good afternoon. Let me turn down my radio. I understand. We're just grateful that you called from Missouri.
Yeah, I called in with Nikita Koloff one time. So I don't know if I'm eligible to get a prize or not. You are completely eligible. And we want you to get a calendar.
2025. Yeah, that was pretty cool. I've been listening to the show for a while. My verse that I have, it really isn't a Christmas verse. It's a life verse.
And I guess Christmas can be any time. It's Romans 8, 18. It said this present suffering can't be compared to the glory that's going to be revealed within. Wow. Wow. And I've been going through blindness, and I don't suffer like Paul.
You know, I can't even compare the suffering that he went through. But, you know, when you're losing your vision, you're learning the new normal, basically. Right. So through that, though, you've clearly got the scripture memorized. At some level, you're able to see it, or… Yeah, that's one of the one things that has been revealed also. I've been able to memorize scripture more because I have less eye distractions. I know that sounds kind of goofy, but I have a YouVersion Bible, and I listen to it on the Kindle, and it reads it to me, and then I memorize it. Yes. You know, and it's just one of them things that God has revealed I need to memorize more, because there will be a time I won't be able to see to even start the Kindle. Oh, it's absolutely amazing what God does with his Word.
Yes. I once interviewed a Vietnamese pastor who was imprisoned in North Vietnam in a swamp, and he lived there for seven years, where he couldn't lay down to sleep because he would drown, right? He had to eat what was in the swamp, drink what was in the swamp with 900 other prisoners in that swamp. And I asked him, I said, you know, anytime God really puts something on us like blindness, like what you're talking about, he always gives us something to help sustain us. What did he give you? And, you know, he told me, he said he gave me the 91st Psalm. Wow. And if you read the 91st Psalm, and of course he could quote it then, but he couldn't when he went into the swamp.
Now, how did that happen? He gave him the 91st Psalm. So beautiful, so beautiful, Scott. Well, you have a wonderful Merry Christmas.
We're so grateful for your call. We're going to send you this Date to Work calendar, and on Romans 8-18. It is Romans 8-18. That's the verse.
Be right back. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. Today we are talking about what is your, what's your favorite Christmas Bible verse? And, you know, we'd love to talk it over with you. 866-348-7884 is the number to call in and share. We've got a Date to Work calendar for you, just for calling in.
866-348-7884. What is your favorite Christmas Bible verse? And, you know, it's a prepare him room kind of time of the year, right? One of my favorite, actually, I've got to admit that, man, something happens where I just, since this season, I'm going to get more intimate, more deep. I'm going to feel things and experience things as we anticipate, right, his coming again.
Well, it's something about Christmas where it does that intimacy. God with us. Right.
Wow. Emmanuel. God with us. And he's now going to do life with us. And that's why one of the verses that I have is Hebrews 2, verse 17. Therefore, in all things, he had to be made like his brothers, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in all things pertaining to God, to make propitiations for the sins of the people. Now, there's a sacrifice, but he had to be made like us, to be merciful and faithful. And then you kick in Hebrews chapter 4, we go boldly to the throne of grace because he understands. He sympathizes with us.
And so we grow closer to him because it was God with us. That's awesome. That's the Christmas story.
That is the Christmas story. And we got Paula is in South Carolina. So, Paula, you're on Truth Talk Live. Good evening. Well, hello. Good to be on with you guys. Oh, it is wonderful.
We're so excited to hear what you have. Okay, one of my favorite ones is Luke 1, 35. And the angel answered and said to her, meaning Mary, the Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the highest will overshadow you.
Therefore, also that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Isn't that awesome? That is, like, can you even imagine, Paula? No. No.
Absolutely not. And it's amazing just to even think about it. I can't. You know, I have two daughters, and I just picture the scene of this angel showing up when they were 14 or about the age Mary was and just saying, well, here's what's going on. And then, like, oh, my goodness, her response.
True. And the life that she would have, it's truly, truly, truly one of the gifts of Scripture. And I'm grateful for the joy I sense in your spirit over the whole day. Thank you. And it is truly, truly a miracle, something that only God can do.
That's right. And then you think about our new birth. Again, it can't be explained. It is a miracle.
And He comes in and changes our lives. Yeah, isn't it? Absolutely. Absolutely spectacular. It is.
Absolutely beautiful. It is. So, Paula, you are where in South Carolina? I'm in the little town of Pickens.
It's near Greenville, Bob Jones University, and it's near Clemson University. Oh, you're right there amongst the Giants, right? That's cool. That's exactly correct. So the question is, is there anybody in Pickens, South Carolina, named Slim?
Slim? Only Robbie. Very possible.
Very possible. I just had to throw that in there, just wondering. But anyway, God bless you, Paula. That's okay. Thank you. I'm not originally from here. I'm originally from Alabama, Roll Tide, and I'm right in the middle of it here, so.
That's wonderful. Roll Tide. Yes, absolutely. We have so many Alabama fans, and I can tell you the man I'm sitting across from, he is a huge football fan, so. Oh, yes. Are you a Roll Tide guy? No. I'm more of a Let's Go Bucks.
Excuse me. Let's Go. We are Penn State, and I'm more Big Ten.
So I'm hoping to see one of those this year in the national championship. Well, I can tell you there's... Go ahead. Paula, when's your birthday? I wish you the best. Paula, when's your birthday? It's in January 14th.
Well, look there. Here's a Christmas verse for you. John 1 14. That's a great birthday verse, and it's a Christmas verse.
And the word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his grace, the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1 14 for your birthday. Well, thank you so much. We're going to send you the Date the Word calendar for 2025, and I hope you enjoy the verses. You know, I always think of that.
Thank you. I think of that, that he's full of grace and truth. And I don't know, Paula, have you ever been around somebody that you knew, and grace has to do with favor. Like, you can tell when you're somebody's favorite just when you're around them. And I can tell by your voice that you're a very graceful person. Like, you like people. And so you know how it is when you're around somebody, and maybe you can think of a pastor or somebody that you really admired that really, really, you could tell when you were in their presence that they just thought the world of you.
Like, they just really, really favored you. Can you imagine for one second what it's like to, even a millisecond, what it's like to be in the presence of Jesus, who you are his absolute favorite, but at the same time, he's got so much truth to impart to you that would totally, right, bring out the real Paula or bring out the real Dr. Carson. Like, he's got all that grace because you're his favorite. And then at the same time, I often ponder that when I think about that verse in John.
He was full of that. It's unbelievable. I thought about God's presence this morning when I was doing my devotional, and it's, wow, I can't imagine. I just, wow, you know, just surround me, just envelop me with your presence, and I don't know if I could stand it. So I love your birthday verse, and Paula, God bless you. You have an amazing, amazing Christmas season.
Thank you so much for coming. Thank you. God bless you, folks. All right, bye-bye. All right. All right, we got time for your verse. Yes, we do.
Don't let us out. You got a calendar coming. You need it. 866-348-7884 is the number to call in and share. 866-348-7884.
We would love to get you in on this. You know, we know that's a Bible verse someplace you go. You know, Eugene Peterson, when they did his biography, the man said that he, and I love this, that he had a conversational intimacy with the Scripture. In other words, when he, you know, came into this passage, John, it was like, hello, you know, John 3.16, my old friend. I've come to talk with you again, right? Because, I mean, how often, if you're like me, do I need to be reminded of my salvation, right?
That's so good. I think about Jeremiah 15.16, your word was found, and I did eat it, and it became the delight of my soul. I learned truths then of how much God loves me, and I think it was Spurgeon that said, our bloodline needs to become bebline, and we are what we eat.
Oh, yeah. And if we're eating Scriptures, you were talking about a little bit ago, and you're so familiar with it, and we know who God is. I heard a man preach one time say, I know there's the question, is there a God? But I want to know, if there is a God, has he said anything to me? And all of a sudden, yes, there is a God, and he has spoken, and he has said something to us.
He's personal. He's real, and he's so personal. Christmas, as we talked a few moments ago, he came down from heaven to this earth, and I don't know how to ponder that one, because when I think about the glories of heaven and the agony of earth, this horrible place, he left the glories of glories, came to the earth to live among men, to live with filthy sinners so those filthy sinners could be cleansed and made whole, made new. What a Savior we have. That's a Christmas story. Our God loved us that much. So we got Christmas verses that people could be calling in and sharing with us.
We got just a couple more minutes, maybe a minute and a half, but you got time. If you want to call, 866-348-7884, 866-348-7884, and again, that idea to me is just marvelous that he came to the house of bread to a feeding trough. Of course, John 1, in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, right? And so here's the Word that is meant to be eaten, right? He's coming, but he's also the Word. And he's coming to the house of bread.
He's coming into that. And when you look into the whole idea of manna, it's a similar concept once again of the bread that came from heaven. And people said, what's that? And they named it manna.
And they said that you couldn't, that it was kind of like potato chips or whatever. Once you ate a little piece of manna, you wanted more and you wanted more and you wanted more. Well, that's the way the Word of God is hopefully for you as you begin to eat it.
You want more and you want more and you want more, and then you need a Date the Word calendar. And the Date the Word app has these Christmas verses on it, and Merry Ponder. And that's what I hope you're doing this year for Christmas, pondering on the greatness and the love of God. And all those words. We thank you so much for listening today, and God bless you. Have a Merry Christmas. Another program powered by the Truth Network.
