Right? We all have opportunities every single day, so how are you today preparing for the peace of Israel? How are you preparing for the future of Israel, especially in the coming season? When that missile sequence comes on your TV and whatever, what's going around in your heart, what's going around in your mind?
What can you do as a believer to pray for Israel, those kind of things? We're very interested. Well, fortunately, we are really, really fortunate today to have with us Joel Chernoff with us again, and he is with so many wonderful organizations. Welcome, Joel.

That's wonderful. He is with the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America, and he was given this amazing vision we talked about the last time we had him on the show. For such a time as this, they've been doing this thing called the Joseph Project, which is the whole idea of what we're talking about today. For each of us individually, we got our own Joseph Project, right? We've been given the Bible, which Joseph didn't have, to show us kind of the end of the story, and as things begin to unfold, right? Joseph prepared, made preparations for what was going on both in resources, but you can imagine, you know, the one-on-one communication that Joseph had with God, and so you're experiencing that right now, Joel, right?
Yes. Well, I am the, so to speak, CEO of the Messianic Jewish Alliance, Messianic Jewish Alliance of America, which is the largest organization representing the Messianic Jewish community with the authority to speak for the Messianic Jewish community, and in 1996, I received a prophetic word, and I believe that I did. It was a supernatural experience, really, in my office, where the Lord just descended upon me. I was sobbing uncontrollably, and it's just the presence of the Spirit was so strong.
You just can't be normal in that presence, and I ran over to my desk because I knew he was speaking to me. It was an unction of the Spirit, really, and I ran over, and I just wrote out this prophetic word in vision that within a short period of time, more than a million more of your Jewish people will come back suddenly to Israel in a time of great trouble from Eastern Europe and Russia, and they will come suddenly. Israel will not be prepared, and God was saying to me, and I'm giving you an assignment, you, the Messianic community, in partnership with your Christian brothers and sisters around the world to prepare a blessing on the soil of Israel as Joseph prepared for the famine that was going to come upon Egypt, and he prepared for seven years for that, for seven years of famine, even so that that came. You are to prepare for this day when those million-plus people are going to come suddenly to Israel in a time of great trouble and prepare a blessing and a witness and a blessing for Israel for that time. That was a powerful word because at that time in 1996, the organization, the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America, was very, very small, less than $70,000 a year in giving, and that was about it, and I just thought it was preposterous.
It seemed impossible. It was ridiculous, and I argued with the Lord, and I tested that prophetic word with many strong believers in Israel, the United States, and finally our executive committee here in the US. They all affirmed it, said, go forth and do it. It seemed impossible, but the Lord gave me a word which kind of shut up all of the argument that I was giving him, saying, our people don't even want our help, and so forth, and they have laws in the books against us and so forth. But the Lord gave me a verse, 1 Peter 2.15, for this is God's will, that by doing good you will silence the ignorant talk of foolish men.
He says, you just step out in faith. You do what I've asked you to do. Take the assignment. If you don't want to take the assignment, fine, I will just move on. But if you take the assignment, I will advocate for you. I will shut up the opposition, so to speak, and you will be able to go forward. I will defend you in that. Okay. All right.
I said okay to that, and I proceeded. And for three years, nothing happened. I cast the vision.
All of our conferences nationally and regionally, nothing. And then suddenly in 1999, here it came. The first little cloud appeared on the horizon, as Elijah said at one point. And a man came in 1999 and helped me get a little bit of liftoff in Israel. Then in 2000, we moved the offices of The Joseph Project to Israel, and then we hired an executive director who was a citizen in Israel, great business guy, pioneer in the Messianic movement, and he helped get it off of the ground.
That was in 2000. We've had tremendous obstacles that have all been moved out of the way, many miracles, and today The Joseph Project is the number one importer of humanitarian aid in the state of Israel, period, with over 170 million dollars worth of aid. 120 corporations, large and small in Israel, also support The Joseph Project. We work with the government of Israel, oftentimes on their foreign policy. Occasionally the national emergency strategic team meets in our facilities, and God is raising that up.

Or maybe you got a question for Joel, as they're on the front lines and they're seeing all that's going on, but it's just another, I guess, statement that I find more than fascinating, is that Joel is one of the founders of the group Lamb, and still performs to this day, and he's a songwriter. And so as a songwriter, we were talking about it right before the show, how God would give you a song, and you can see what he did with Lamb.

I'm so glad that you tuned in. We're talking about how do you, right, that you as an individual prepare for the peace of Israel. What does that look like in your heart?

Because again, you know, it's a really, really amazing thing that we have in this season, as you've heard me talk about before, that the Jewish community in Israel is seeing Christians in a light they've never seen them before, right, Joel? It's true, yeah, because for centuries, of course, there have been major persecutions of the Jewish people, the Spanish Inquisition, the Crusades, even Nazi Germany used many of Luther's quotes. At the end of his life, he became very, very anti-Semitic, and he called for the burning of the synagogues, the killing of the Jews.
And so Hitler used his quotes because he really admired Luther for those things. He wasn't a believer in any way, he just simply pulled out the anti-Semitic portion and put it up in the gas changers, used it, used it, used it in all of their propaganda and so forth to turn the Christian world against the nation of Israel, against the Jewish people. So our people have suffered many, many wounds that have come out of the Christian world, and generations of them. So now our people are experiencing something new, and that is the evangelical Christian Zionist community, which is rallying to the biblical truth that God is not finished with Israel, God is still working through the nation of Israel, and they have risen up in defense of the state of Israel through various organizations, Christian Zionist organizations. They are defending the people of Israel, sending money, supplies.
The Joseph Project is an example. It's a messianic Jewish work in Israel to the poor and the needy, and supporting the nation of Israel during this war, over $15 million worth. But where is that aid coming from? It's coming from the hands of Christian charity around the world, working with us, shipping aid in 40-foot containers, and then we take control of that, get it through customs, computerize it, get it out to the poor and the needy. You have a warehouse right there, right? Right there in Jerusalem area, several trucks, staffing, infrastructure. We can process it and get it out to where it's needed. That is an example of messianic Jews and Christians working together, and our people see that and they love it.
And one of the neatest statements in their brochure, which I look at, I just go, that is just so cool. Introducing the people of Israel to their Messiah, right? And, you know, what a critical understanding, right? They've been searching for him just desperately for, you know, obviously, for 2,000 years.
Or longer. And so, you know, as they actually, you know, because we talked about it before the show, that like in America, you know, we get soft, things are good, you know, we don't have any real issues, and then all of a sudden the bombs start dropping, and all of a sudden our faith becomes, you know, really important to what we're doing, and all of a sudden we start asking for questions, and we start looking to see where our real help comes from, we start looking to see who our real friends are, and then, wow, that's coming from the hands of Jesus? That, this is coming from people that maybe we haven't looked at everything like we should look at it, and a big part of your message, obviously, as you're supplying this, is at the heart of their faith, which is really, you know, one of the mandates God gave you.
Yeah, well, we are very, very careful. The Lord gave us clear instructions in the beginning of the Joseph Project, just to serve our people. Service is the precursor to promotion in the kingdom of God, and it is true also in life.
People tend to promote those who are serving well, humble and serving well, and so we serve our people, partner with our Christian brothers and sisters around the world, but the boots on the ground in Israel are Messianic Jews who are working and serving our people, meeting the needs of the poor and the needy, and in this war, all of the displaced, the terrorist victims, and even the Israel Defense to Forces, we are supplying aid for them, food and so forth. Well, let me speak to that a second, because I think it's genius on God's part. Yeah, uh-huh, it is genius. Because to a Jewish person, and I love to listen to Jewish sermons and lectures, and it's one of the things I've just always enjoyed, but at the heart of a lot of their faith, especially if you look at the 119th Psalm, you'll see that the mitzvah, the commandments are very—and they feel like they commune with God. In fact, they know that they commune with God as they are in service with him, right? In other words, when they do those commandments, that's part of the way that they actually experience their faith, and so when they see somebody coming in and doing that for them, right?
Like I said, it's a genius. You speak my language. You understand what service means, because, you know, they've done it for generations, and that's what they've been taught since they were a little kid. Yes, that is a part of the culture, the Jewish culture here in the United States and around the world, and it's called tzedakah. It's doing good things, mitzvah, tzedakah, it's righteousness. And so you bless others, not just serve yourself, which we have to do to make a living and take care of our families and so forth, but it's to serve others also, and that is what turns hearts in Israel.
We serve, and then if they ask us about our faith, then we share our faith, but it's service first. Everything else comes after that, and because of that, the Lord has lifted up the Joseph Project to the highest levels in Israel, whether it's government, charities, cities, municipal events, holocaust survivors, millions and millions of dollars worth of aid is going and is being a blessing to our people. Right, and it's so cool that, you know, again, that God spoke this, right, and, you know, 1996. It's a long time ago.
You know, I don't know, almost 30 years ago at this point in time, right? And yet, slowly but surely, you know, here it comes, and here it comes, here comes this war, but right before the war, and you shared this before, but it's so miraculous to me. Can you kind of share with our listeners how God had you, literally preparing for what was coming?
Yeah, we were there October the 6th. We actually flew in, Miriam and Miriam and I flew in to Israel for an International Messianic Conference, and so we were at a hotel in between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, and it was there that we had a nice Shabbat dinner, and I don't know if you want me to complete this after this break? Oh yeah, we got to go to a break, so we're going to return to this story, but we need your insights.

Right, which, you know, many, many people would remember that, but again, you know, you can see how God has blessed the work of his hands, and now he's blessed the work of his hands with this Messianic Jewish Alliance. You've heard how many millions of dollars, how many thousands of aid have gone, and how—I can tell you that there's no doubt in all the—I feel so blessed at times to get a chance to interview so many wonderful Jewish people that are completely very Hasidic Jewish—I mean, very Orthodox Jewish people that would not hardly ever, prior to the last time that I interviewed them, ever mention the name Jesus. Certainly not Yeshua, but oh, is that—that tune has changed based on this war, based on the help that they've received from lots of organizations, but certainly with Messianic Jewish Alliance of America being one of the biggest ones, but when we left our hero, he was there the day of the bombing, and oh my goodness, all of a sudden, you know, things changed a whole lot real quick. Yeah, as I was saying, we got to Israel October the 6th, which was the day before it started.
We had a beautiful Shabbat dinner. We then retired to our hotel room, and we needed to get over the jet lag because the conference of people, all the conferees are coming from all over the world, Messianic leaders there, and so we went to bed, and as I was waking up, I could just hear sirens. Sirens were going off, and that's not such an uncommon thing, but the fact that they kept going, that they didn't stop, and when you hear sirens in Israel, that means that there might be rockets in your area, in your immediate area, and you're supposed to maybe head for the bomb shelters. Well, we kept hearing them, and then they didn't stop, and I thought, that's kind of unusual, and through my haze, and I was still waking up, then all of a sudden, boom, a major explosion. I went, wait a minute, this is not normal, and I jumped out of bed, I ran outside, and everybody's streaming into the bomb shelter, and I realized, oh my goodness, there is something huge happening, and we all ran into the bomb shelters, we're standing there, we're trying to get the news, and then we suddenly hear there's 30 dead, we're going, 30?
What in the world? Then it was 60, then it was 100, we're going, uh oh, this is big, this is huge. I don't know what this is exactly, or how bad it is, but this is not going to be over tomorrow, this is going to be a major response from Israel, and so forth, and then of course, it evolved into hundreds of people dead, and then over a thousand, and we experienced that, it was a privilege, it was nine days, we had a four-day conference, and then we were there a few days trying to get out, but of course, it was very difficult too, because the war was going on, and we counted it a privilege, really, to be there during the war, and to feel our people's angst, and the conference was so much more powerful, because it was so prophetic, we feel like the conference was prophetic anyway, and then all of a sudden, we're there in the midst of this conflagration, this war, that was possibly a prophetic event, we didn't know if it fulfilled Isaiah 11 and 17 and other passages, but it was bigger than anything we had seen, so it was quite a privilege to be there. Yeah, but it still rages, and so I love your heart for God's word, and so you yourself turn to the Psalms, as I do, and so I think you got a word for us along those lines. Well, you know, we see that this war is dragging on, the leaders in Israel are saying now that this could go on another seven months, we see that the world is rallying against Israel, they don't want Israel to win, and unfortunately, the President of the United States and the administration is also trying to force Israel to do something which isn't in their best interests, which is to end the war without eradicating all of the terrorists so that they can get big again and come back again, so the nations are raging, they're in an uproar, and we're seeing the demonstrations in the streets as Muslim-led hordes really are just raging against Israel, even the Jewish community in this country doesn't feel safe anymore in this country, and I'm just seeing all this tumult everywhere, all of it centering around Israel, and I'm reminded of these words, these incredible words in the book of Psalms chapter 2, because there's no counsel against the Lord, this is His agenda.
Why are the nations raging and the people mutter vanity? The kings of the earth set themselves up, and the rulers conspire together against Adonai, against the Lord, and against His anointed one, in Hebrew, Mashiach, Messiah, let's rip their chains apart, how haughty they are that they could raise themselves up against the God of Israel, the Creator, and His plan and His agenda for the world which runs through Israel, and throw their ropes off of us, He who sits in the heavens laughs, the Lord mocks them, so He will speak to them in anger and terrify them in His fury, I have set my king I have set my king upon Zion and my holy mountain, kiss the Son, the Son of God, lest He become angry and you perish along the way, since His wrath may flare up suddenly, happy is everyone taking refuge in Him. The nations, oh, the nations think they have, and I'll tell you, they have a good plan, they think that they have a plan to put Israel in its place, to really extinguish the light of Israel, but God's agenda and His plan will take precedence over that, they imagine a vain thing, but when God gets off of His throne, it's party over, it's done for them, just an incredible, just an incredible passage, and there are other passages.
But that whole idea of kiss the Son lest He be angry is a beautiful part that we all play, right? That, you know, I love, and I know you guys do even way more than me, is the Aaronic blessing, right? And, you know, Aaron was tasked with that blessing, that we get to take part in now today, and, you know, as we get a chance to do that in a way, you know, it says God's going to put His name, if you look at the end of the Aaronic blessing, it says God's going to put His name on these folks, which is Jesus, by the way, or you could say Christian if you wanted to, I mean, that's kind of His name, and it's kind of a neat thing that we can pray, come alongside, because God's heart's breaking over the whole thing. He doesn't want one of those terrorists to perish.
He doesn't want one of them to perish, but by all means, His plan will move forward, and so as we pray for what He's doing, we're actually praying for everybody in the equation. Yeah, it was a privilege to be present at that war, and to see we were able to take all of our leaders down to the Joseph Project facility right in the midst of the war, the day or two after the war, so seeing our trucks, we have a facility there, it's about 20,000 square feet, three stories high, we had millions of dollars in aid ready to go. Within 24 hours, we were on the front lines all over the southern part of the country, and it was a privilege really to see the Messiah's compassionate heart going out in the midst of that terrible, terrible event. We had to be careful out in the roads because there were still terrorists running around, and we didn't know how far north that they'd gotten if they'd gotten into the middle of the country yet, but yet we were there to see it firsthand, and I just encourage people to not only pray for the peace of Jerusalem, but to also put your shoulder into ministries like thejosephproject.org that are doing, that are your boots on the ground.
You can't be there, you can't help, but physically, but if you go to thejosephproject.org, you can put your shoulder into it and make a contribution that will go right to the front lines of Israel and to those hurting in Israel. You've got a passage question for us. Mike Yes, I do. Hi, Joel, thank you for all you do, and it's awesome.
You're welcome. My question is, you know, God, you know, the Lord's Prayer, you know, he says, Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. You know, you praise God.
And then thy kingdom come, thy will be done, as earth as it is in heaven. You know, God is going to be God, and he's going to do what he's going to do. Why did he ask us to pray for his will to be done? Because his will is going to be done if I pray or not. And, you know, and he is the almighty, you know, I mean, he's never, he's never going he's never going to change, he's never going to, boy, you know, you see my question.
Oh, that's a great one. Yeah, and so why do we pray for Israel? Why do, you know, I mean, I do, you know, I know I'm obedient, you know, to God, but I'm just always questioning, God, why do you want us to do this? You know, what is your purpose? You know, it's going to happen.
What is, when is it going to happen? And we don't know, you know, you're communicating with God and you're saying, God, please have your will be done here on earth, you know, meet the loss. What do you think, Joel? Yeah. What's the answer to that?
Well, thank you for that, for that question. Listen, God, God just doesn't act unilaterally. He created mankind. He chooses to work out his plan through us and with us. And so he wants those of us that want his will in our lives, which is a voluntary thing.
We can invite God into our lives or we can say no to God. So our will is involved in this too. So he asks us to pray.
That's a personal exercise. That's an act of faith on our part. That's an act of our own will to pray according to God's will.
We ask that in our, in our, in our own lives. When I was a young man, I was, I was 22 and on fire for the Lord and I turned to God. I just love God so much. He, he, he descended upon me, changed and changed my life in a supernatural way. And I came to God and I said to God, I can, I can do my own thing in life, but I would prefer to, to get the best life that I possibly can.
You know me better than anybody. You, you know, my strengths, my talents, my everything, I'm going to give you my life. That, that was an act of my will. I, I gave him my life and said, said, will you give me my best life in sync with, with your will? Give me my best life.
I will follow you wherever you go. That, that was an act of my will. And the Lord chose then to, to, for the next 50 years, he's, he's working out that plan, he's working out that plan, which was difficult at times, but beautiful. So God's will is permissive also. God can also, uh, it seems in the scripture at times with the King Hezekiah, he told the prophet Isaiah, go to him and tell him to get his house in order that, that this current sickness was going to end his life.
Hezekiah protested. He was upset about it, said, Lord, I've served you all of my life, blah, blah, blah. The Lord said, okay. He sent the prophet back to him, says, I'm going to give you 15 more, more years. It seems to me that there's some flex in God's, in God's plan. And even, even though you might argue, well, maybe God knew he was going to do that. And that was a part of his plan, but the, but the truth of it is Isaiah went to him, told him, this is it and get everything in order. You are going to pass away.
And then, and then God relented and went back and gave him 15 more years. So I would encourage you just take it by, by faith. You might not understand every little jot and tittle in the way the Lord works, but just be obedient, pray for the peace of peace of, uh, uh, Jerusalem.
You know, God is going to protect Israel, but it's good for our souls that we get our minds and wills in line with, with God and God's agenda. That's so cool. And, and Mike, I would also add very fun because it's such a great question. You know, I'm really, I love it, but I would add that, you know, the neat thing about the end of the Lord's prayer is the beginning of the Bible. You know, in the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth, right? And those words in Hebrew are spectacular, actually more than spectacular. And you, you've heard the word Shalom. Well, the word heaven in Hebrew is Shemaim. And the interesting thing, if you look at that word briefly, and we will, because I like to, uh, is a shin is kind of like fire and a mem, which are those two letters is kind of like water. And so water and fire don't exist in harmony so much on the earth, but they sure do in heaven.
And, and, and there's some, yeah, yeah. So you got this idea of fire and water that's in heaven. And when you think about when God sends to the earth, he sends a lot of water and he sends some fire and that there's no doubt that that's going to happen. But the word earth is a Ritz, right? And, and that word, again, it's because you're asking that the earth be like the heaven, that word has to do with righteousness, right?
And then I know he's wanted to jump in cause he has the same thought. And, and, and as, as the idea of what Jesus actually did in the garden, right? He said, you know, this is what I want, but your will be done. But your will be done and his righteousness is part of what, right? God is going to have happen in the earth.
But like, like we've been talking about all through the show, he wants us on the right side of this deal. And so he's hoping that, that we'll come along that in, in our hearts through our own prayers. Cause I've heard it said that, you know, prayer is a lot more me getting in line with God than God getting in line with me, you know, but go ahead. Yeah, that really helps a lot getting in line with God more than we are getting in line with me. You know, I mean, I, I might not understand everything, but I needed to obey God, but then that way I can be in line with God.
Yeah. Let me just add to that a little bit. Just, it just came to me and I think this is for you. Uh, Genesis 12, three, where it says, where, uh, God says to Abraham, I will bless them that bless thee meaning, meaning his seed, the Jewish, the Jewish people. And I will curse them that curse thee. There is a blessing on obedience to God, a reason to align yourself with, with God's will and to do his will is because God, in this case, promises a blessing for you.
If you pray for the peace of peace of, uh, Jerusalem, if you bless them financially, if you bless them in any way, God says, I will bless you. I think that's a good deal. I think that's a good deal that if we follow the Lord and pray according to his will, that he's going to bless us. That's good. I accept that.
I, I want that for me. Yeah, I just follow on with that is, um, you know, a lot of times you're getting blessings that's you've allowed God, the will of God in your life, in the past. And then you're still weeping, uh, reaping those, uh, rewards from God that, you know, that you're getting because you were, you were, uh, you obedient to God and you're still reaping those rewards from God and God saying, I need you to, I need you to understand that these are rewards that you've done in the past, you know, and that's, that's amazing. We want to make sure we get you, Mike, and everybody out there an opportunity that if God, as you are praying and he's saying, wow, I, you know, bless Israel with some kind of gift or bless Israel with your prayers. How do you, and, and, and maybe get more aligned with it because you know, where your, where your, where your treasure is, that's where your heart is.
Right. And it'd be interesting to see is, is people give them the next thing, you know, your heart kind of gets over there too, but it's Joseph project dot O R G Joseph project. Again, the idea of making ready for what's going to happen there as well as, uh, the mask, uh, the masculine, the messianic Jewish association of America, Alliance of America, that's M J a a dot O R G and, and both of those are good places to get started.
What would you add a Joel? Well, besides the fact that it's very masculine, uh, well, I had up mass, that's a, that's a good one. Uh, but anyway, yes, listen, God is very, very practical. If you bless Israel, you will be blessed. I think that, that, that, that is a mandated, a promised blessing. And the Joseph project.org is where you could do that. And believe me, brother, and all of you Christians listening now is the time to stand up for Israel now, not in six months when the crisis is upon Israel.
