Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right, let's talk. A daily program powered by the Truth Network. This is kind of a great thing, and I'll tell you why. Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together.
Speak your mind. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host. Welcome to Truth Talk Live. This is Peter Rosenberg, glad. To be with you today, I hope it is as beautiful where you are as it is where I am here in Southwest Montana, looking out at the Rockies.
And I want you to know that I gave up something fun to do this program today. We were moving a bull and some heifers onto this property, and rancher that. Partners with us and puts his cows out here. Said you want to cowboy up and go with us? I said no because I have a responsibility to the Truth Network.
I mean, I do want to do it, but I have a responsibility to the Truth Network to be on this program because I would have been cowboying up today, and I love doing that. But I'll get to do it this weekend. I'm gonna ride some more this weekend. We got beautiful weather ahead of us, and I hope you're doing well. If you'd like to be a part of this program today, and if you'd like to talk about your cowboy journeys, you're welcome to.
Call it eight six six, three four eight seventy eight eighty four eight six six thirty four. Truth, I think it was Churchill that said, "No, it was Will Rogers, and I think Ronald Reagan quoted him a lot, saying, 'There's nothing wrong with the inside of a man that the outside of a horse can't fix.'" And I think that's a that's a fair statement here. But in that context, I understand in the broader context, a biblical context, that's not accurate. But I understand what he's saying. At the end of September, excuse me, I I've been out working in the barn.
Sorry. At the end of September, I I recommended a chapter of Proverbs every day during October. Thirty-one chapters, thirty-one days. You know. But you can do it any month.
You have to just repeat a few of them, and that's okay. But you read the chapter that corresponds with the date.
Well, today's October twenty-first, and with an election approaching, Proverbs twenty-one gives us a little bit to consider.
Well, actually, gives us plenty to consider. Listen how it begins: "The king's heart is." A stream of water in the hand of the Lord, He turns it wherever He will. First off, do you believe that? Do you believe that the king's heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord, He turns it wherever He wills? When you look around and see some of the leaders we have in this world, some of the leaders we have in this country, some of the leaders we have in in the states.
Does that principle still apply? Do you believe that? And if you do believe it, what are the implications? It's something to think about, isn't it?
Now listen how that ends. The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord. God holds the king's heart. The victory belongs to the Lord.
Something to think about, isn't it? Particularly an election season, and somebody still has to get the horse ready. If you notice that, and that brings us to a doctrine I've been discussing recently on my program for caregivers, which is the doctrine of divine concurrence. You know what that means? You ever heard that?
Are you familiar with that? The doctrine of divine concurrence sounds kind of academic, doesn't it?
Well, it's a theological term, but it addresses something we encounter every day. How does God's sovereign rule relate to the decisions that people make? We make real decisions, and they have real consequences. And God remains sovereign over all of it. You can go back to Genesis and look at that.
Consider Joseph. You see this really played out. Descriptively, there, his brother sold him into slavery. Years later, Joseph could look back and say, "This is in Genesis fifty twenty. As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good.
God is working His purposes through even people's sin. He uses sin sinlessly," as one theologian said. The brothers intended evil. God intended good through the same events; their guilt remained, but God's purpose prevailed. You know, how about that?
What does that mean to you? What does that? How does that have to do with anything?
Well, let's go a little bit deeper. Human intentions and God's intentions can differ profoundly, and this is really important to think about here at election time. But yet. Human actions still serve God's ultimate purpose, but that doesn't excuse the people who did evil. The clearest example of that is the cross.
You know, you go to Acts two, Acts two twenty three, God's definite plan alongside the guilt of those who crucified Jesus. It's right there. God accomplished our redemption through an event for which. Wicked people remain accountable. I mean, remember what Peter said: "This Jesus, who you crucified, and yet God, Jesus came to this world to go to the cross." Judas betrayed him, as was foretold.
But Jesus had been better if Judas had never been born.
Something to think about, and it that matters when we talk about government because God is sovereign. Doesn't mean that whatever a government does must be morally right, and it can't also mean nothing I do matters. Scripture gives us no permission for either conclusion. Romans thirteen, Paul writes, "For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Civil government, the state, is ordained by God.
Its authority is delegated. It's got purpose. It's got responsibilities. I mean, think about the implications of what this is saying here. Communist governments." There is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.
The Nazis, Communists, Khmer Rouge—all these governments all around the world.
Some of them been horrifically corrupt, some of them not. But Scripture says, "None of this. There is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God." That's rather strong, isn't it? What do you think about that? Do you believe that?
And if this is the case, then what are the implications? And for us as believers, how do we respond to that? R.C. Sproul emphasized that a government has a God-given duty to protect human life and administer justice. God-given duty to do so.
So, what happens to the ones that don't? What happens to the ones who flagrantly abuse that? I mean, we have we have that in our country that are not protecting life, and if the government is delegated, has purpose, it has responsibilities. And a government may deny God's existence. Many do, but it still has to answer to them, to Him.
It does. A ruler may reject God's standards, and we see that every day, don't we? But that ruler still will be judged by God's standards. And the state does not become morally independent. Simply because it calls itself secular.
You know, I don't know that we really the separation of church and state in our country is really not an accurate term, is it? It's more like the the separation of the state from God, because that's what they're after. But Scripture says no, you don't get to do that because you don't have any authority except that it comes from God. and And you look at Jesus telling this to Pilate. He said, "Don't you know I have the authority to kill?" He said, "You don't have any authority.
Other than what was given to you by my father. I mean, only my father has provided this, not you. Don't don't don't think too highly of yourself, here, Pilate. I mean, that's not what he said. I'm embellishing a little bit, but you get the point.
And here's where it kind of hits us right now, two weeks out from election season. Election day." Winning an election does not give someone permission to redefine good and evil. Should we say that one more time? Winning an election does not give someone permission to redefine good and evil. We may think we're in a secular world.
We may think we're in a secular society. But we are one. We are living in a world that is governed. By the Great I Am, and no authority except that comes from Him. That's Truth Talk Live.
We'll be right back. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. This is Peter Rosenberg. Glad to be with you.
Eight six six thirty four Truth. That's eight six six three four eight seventy eight eighty four. If you want to be a part of the program, Bucksman in Ohio, Bucksman. Good afternoon again. How are you doing?
Oh my goodness! It's always good to talk to you, Peter, because you—it seems like you're one of the hosts. You and Stu Erickson mainly bring up the conversation between Christianity, biblical concepts, and government, United States government. And as I was listening to your monologue, I was reminded of when Jesus Christ, our Lord. Was there in the hands of Pontius Pilate, the governor of that region of Judea, which was told to him to to stand guard of by Caesar, who basically owned the world in Jesus's day.
And remember, Peter, when when Pontius Pilate, the governor, said, "I have the power of life and death over you. I can I can set you free." And do you remember what Jesus's response was, Peter?
Well, yes, I just said it in the last monologue, I mean the last blog, that he doesn't have any power. He, other than what is given by his father. Yeah, yeah. I didn't hear that. Forgive me.
I just got in.
Okay. I just wanted to go ahead. No, no, go ahead. Tell me, tell me what's on your on your mind about it. Sure, it it was just to remind the American voter that the power that the people we elect come from is not in and of themselves; it's in and of from the power of God.
And this is why, Peter, I really scrutinize my local politicians, my state politicians. And my federal politicians, and so much so, Peter. I after what happened in 2020, I decided on motivation for my own two children, inheriting Ohio. I realized I have got to go and talk to these men and women and find out. You know, where do you stand on these?
What we call the moral and biblical statements, and that is what I did, Peter.
So when I go and scrutinize, you know, a senator to be a governor to be, like I did with Vivek Ramaswamy just a couple weeks ago when he visited the Dayton area, I ask them very pointed questions so that I know that in my heart, as an Ohioan. I am getting the best candidate for my for my vote, so I would just encourage folks to go out meet these people. They have meet and greets. Talk to them. Don't just say what would you do, you know, if you got elected, but ask them personal questions like I did with Mr.
Ramaswamy. Do you reject Jesus Christ? The venue that he was speaking at, Peter, already asked him, you know, tell us about your religious background, Mr. Ramaswamy. He said, "I am not Christian." He says, "I am Hindu," but I will make sure that you get your religious liberty if you vote me in as the Ohio governor.
And immediately, Peter, I thought Vivek. That power doesn't come from you. If you make governor, that power has already been given unto me through our heavenly Father, the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ. And so let's let's let's bring it down even a little bit more. That power is already codified in the Constitution.
And and it certainly is. When we this country was founded on that, so the governor of Ohio doesn't have any power to remove or or hinder or in any way facilitate anything with the freedom of religion. And but they did in 2020. Remember, Peter?
Well, no, they they did it illegally, and they they were brought to heel for this, and we pushed back on it. They they will they can abuse power. But they have no constitutional power to do it, and they would very much like to. That's why they want to shred the Constitution. And if you remember, Obama called the Constitution negative liberties.
He said because they put limits on the government, which was the whole point. And I'm grateful that he recognized it. I don't think he's grateful that he recognized it, but I'm grateful that he recognized it. It's negative liberties against the government because government will overreach. That's why this country was founded the way it was.
And a lot of people don't understand that. Whereas most of the founders, I don't know, I don't know what their relationship with Jesus was. But they were certainly all steeped in the teaching of the Reformation. They understood a couple of core principles from Reformed theology that came out of the Reformation, which was number one: man is a sinner. Number two: there is a God.
Number three: man is not that God. And those three things they could all agree on. And that's why we have checks and balances. Why? Why else would we need in a country full of angels?
Why would if we're all such good people and man's basically good? Why do we need checks and balances? Exactly right, and so yeah, Vivek for Ramaswamy, you know that's fine. I mean, you know, I mean, I understand what you're trying to go with and have that conversation with him, but for him to say that you know he will make sure that our religious freedoms, whatever, well, that's great, but that's not that you're you're in. I mean, as we say in Montana, you're out over your skis on that one, buddy.
That was that was above your pay grade, and right.
So and and again. How are we going to be able to have these kind of conversations? How are we going to be able to engage with these people if we don't number one study and show ourselves approved? Amen. I mean, how how are we going to do this?
I I go back to a conversation you you and I had about what I don't know two months ago, and when I one of the biggest issues that that led to the Reformation was. Biblical illiteracy, because the the the scriptures were in languages that the common people didn't use, so you didn't have the education to read it. You didn't know. You had to trust somebody else to say it.
Well, now we have Bibles everywhere, but we still have biblical illiteracy. Amen, Peter. And and people just so tragic. People don't read, and and they don't study. They don't know.
And do you know? By the way, I'm I got a piece of trivia, and I'll do this when we come back from the break.
Okay. Does anybody know off the top of their head? Because I'm studying this right now. Who was with Paul when Paul was writing Second Timothy? I think it was his last letter, and everybody else was gone.
And he was asking Timothy to show up and come before winter, if he could bring a coat. If it didn't look pretty cold, and he said the only person left here is this guy. Does anybody know who that was? I think I know who it is, Peter. All right, all right.
We won't have to have a call in, but if you get one shot at it, who was it? Titus. Nope. All right.
So, Bucksford. That's it. You don't get any more. You don't get me any more bites at the apple. And so, but if you know that answer, eight six six thirty four truth, eight six six three four eight seventy eight eighty four.
Fascinating. Fascinating. Individual to be with Paul at that moment, and it gives such a weight to some other things. But I won't spoil it. I won't give you spoilers.
You have to turn around. I mean, you have to tune in for the next block because I'll tell you then. But but these are things we find, and and you know I've been studying these things in Scripture, and going through them, and I got to tell you, every single time I turn around, there's something that just Leaps out at me, leaps at me, and it's vibrant and it's alive. And you know, I I love how the the left in this country want to say that the Constitution is a living, breathing document. No, it's not.
It's a it's a contract. As as uh, that's true. Scalia said it's a legal contract. The living, breathing document is the word of God. It is.
I mean, that is what's a living, breathing document. Napoleon Bonaparte called it a living creature, Brother Peter. I don't know if you know that, but Napoleon Bonaparte called it a living creature and was afraid of it. Of Scripture, of the Holy Spirit, yes, sir. Yeah.
Well, I and you know what, I can understand his fear for it. Because the word of God cuts through everything, all the way down, to separate bone from the sinew, to everything. It is a piercing sword, and that's truth. Top lie. This is Peter Rosenberg.
We'll be right back. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. This is Peter Rosenberg. Glad to be with you.
Eight six six three four eight seventy eight eighty four. I appreciate the call from last segment. There we we talk about this the thing with biblical literacy, and if we don't know the Word of God, we're not going to be able to. Weigh, weighed in, or weigh in on any of these things with any type of clarity. We're just going to come back, and and with with hyperbole, or we're going to come back with personal attacks, or we're going to come back with just silly stuff.
And one of the things about studying scripture and very, very, let me be more, even more specific, studying theology to really understand.
Okay, what do we believe? Why do we believe it? What are the implications? What are the implications of these things? If the king, as we said in the first block in Proverbs today, at Proverbs twenty-one, if the king's heart is like a stream in the hands of the Lord, he he does whatever he wants to with it.
What are the implications? You see what I'm talking about? When you start asking those kind of questions, anchor yourself because what's going to happen is we we have enjoyed an anomaly. This this nation has been an anomaly. the The vast majority of of human history has been filled with oppressive governments, with governments that are not kind to people, and specifically to the people of God.
And you can go and look. Don't take my word for it. Go study history. Vast majority of this has been filled with this kind of thing, but America stands alone as an anomaly for several reasons. Most importantly, is the founders set this in place based on principles that came out of the Reformation, and they established it for God.
They established their principles in respect and belief in God, recognizing that God gave these rights, not the state. The second thing is is that we're protected by two oceans, and for the vast majority, until jet travel and everything else, you had to work hard to get here. We could protect ourselves from it, but that anomaly now is is dissipating, and we've brought. The rest of the world into this country and all of their things. You remember how vigorous God told the people of Israel to be, to not bring in all these customs into their midst, lest they corrupt themselves, which is is exactly what they did.
Well, how are we any different? Look at the corruption that we have in here. Look at the things that we've done. We got enough on our own to deal with, but then we brought in other people's corruption, who people who do not share the values of this country, nor have they been asked to do so. And so, therefore, we have a situation where we've got everybody in pockets of whatever they want to do, and you you see this in Proverbs, this particular Proverbs today.
You see this throughout the Book of Judges. Every man does what is right in their own eyes. Where's the standard? And if we don't go and study these things and then pass them on to our children. And pass them on to everyone else to teach to make disciples.
We, you ever known somebody who likes to witness to people? Have you ever sometimes listened to what some of them say? I've known a lot of people do this, and some of them tend to be witnessing at people, and they preach at people as opposed to teaching. Jesus said, "Preach the gospel. Tell the good news.
Preach the gospel, and make disciples. Make disciples. Teach people. Teach them. Teach them these things.
Why is this important? And by the way, I'm going to teach you something right now.
So, my question before the break. Here's my trivia question. Before the break, I said, "Who was still with Paul when he wrote Second Timothy?" And the answer was Luke. Others had gone somewhere to serve. Demas had deserted him, but Luke was there.
Luke was there with Paul. Isn't that amazing? The great physician, and from what I understand, the Gospel of Luke has been subject to more scrutiny. Then I think any other book in Bible, in the Bible, from what I understand, I may be wrong on that, and somebody can correct me if they, if they wish to. But the the the scrutiny that Luke has faced for his writing, and look at it, it has withstood all of that.
Can you imagine any other religion's document holding up to the kind of scrutiny that the Bible has, and particularly the Gospel of Luke? Can you imagine that? I mean, think about it. Think about all of it. Think about the Quran.
Think about, you know, the Book of Mormon or anything. None of them have had the scrutiny that scriptures had, and yet it holds, and it holds for today because it will not pass away. And I thought, anyway, that was something there. Paul was there facing the power of the Roman state. But they were not; they were not operating without God's sovereignty.
The power of the Romans say, even even in Paul's imprisonment, and that that's a sobering thought to think about. That isn't it, you know. It just that that Paul was subject to this, and yet it was still under the sovereignty of God, and the only person there that was with him. Was Luke at the end, and he was asking Timothy to come before winter, and bring him a coat because evidently it was cold, and he he was getting colder, he's going to get cold, and and it's not like the the prisons were not nice prisons that we have here, and and so he was facing that, but he had a faithful companion in Luke, and but that government holding Paul. Itself was accountable to a higher authority, and God will judge them accordingly.
Okay, that brings us back to Proverbs twenty-one and the doctrine of divine concurrence and the authority that God has entrusted to civil government. That God remains sovereign, and people make real decisions, and they will be responsible for their decisions, and that includes those holding public office. And it may not, we may not see it in our lifetime, but we will see it. We we understand that delegated authority. Excuse me.
You know, it if if they abuse it, there will be an account. And I think we groan. I mean, scripture also says where where the wicked rule, the people groan. We do, but even then, it's still under the sovereignty of God. But they are still responsible for that, as one theologian said.
God uses sin sinlessly, and and I don't understand it. I I really don't. It's it's it's astonishing to think about. But God, sees how it is used. And he judges accordingly.
I love that in Genesis when when Abraham is negotiating with God, if you will, over over Sodom, and he said, "What, what, what, what if you find fifty? What, you know, that kind of thing?" And he was advocating for the people. And there is a great line that Abraham says when he realizes where this is going, and he, this is it, and he said. In a form of a question, but the question itself becomes the statement: Shall not the judge of the whole the world, shall not the judge of the whole world do what is right? Shall not the judge of the whole world do what is right?
Now, my question again to you is: Do you believe this? Do you believe this? Eight six six three four truth eight six six three four eight, seventy eight eighty four. Do you believe that God superintends all these things? That He sees the innocent person denied justice.
Do you believe that He sees the corruption that's that we see on the news in our paper? Do you do you believe that He sees this, and that He's acting on it? Do you believe that he sees the honest public service, public servant doing what is right, and all these people will have to answer, and that that should cause a moment's pause for anybody who seeks office? I don't think I don't think she'll mind me telling you this, and if she does, then she call me up and give me and fuss at me. But I remember.
I was Marsha Blackburn's guest at the State of the Union back in 2018, I think. Maybe 2017, but I think it's 2018. And she was a congressman; she was our congresswoman from Tennessee when we lived in Nashville, and I was her guest. And I was sitting there at dinner with her in the the speaker's office. And this was, and she was considering running for the Senate at that time.
And now she's running for governor of Tennessee. She's done two two times in the Senate, and she's she's running for governor of Tennessee. And I said, "What are your thoughts on this?" She said, "I really spent a lot of time in prayer about this, and I believe this is where the Lord is leading me to go." What an amazing statement from a public official! Would that they all were! Would that they all were that they would seek counsel from God.
I don't think she'll mind me telling that, and because it was, I'll never forget. I was there, right there in the in the Capital and and sitting there at dinner and and that's that was her response. I I've been really seeking God's counsel on this. I've been really praying about this, and she was serious about it. Man, can you imagine if we had more like that?
You know that we're we're seeking after this. And that doesn't mean that she's going to make every decision. She's going to make everybody's going to agree with, and everybody's going to be happy, happy, happy all the time, time, time. That just means that, just like you and me, we seek God's counsel. But how many people do we hack off along the way?
How many people do we offend along the way? How many people do we cause to whatever? You know, we're we're just flawed human beings, but we seek God's counsel, and when we when we Make mistakes with it when we when we offend people. We we seek forgiveness and make amends when we can, and we keep going and seeking God's counsel on this. But where are you getting that counsel from?
Are you spending time in prayer? Are you spending time in your Word? Are you are you doing this? Are you learning anything today? You learn something.
You learn at the end of his life there was one person there with Paul, and that was the beloved physician Luke. And what do you think that means to the accuracy, and the weight of Luke's gospel that he had that kind of time with Paul, at the end of his life there in the prison? What do you think that meant? To the way Luke approached the scriptures, as he was writing and and and the book of Acts, and and he was doing this, the the the level of of detail that he put into this thing, that he had that proximity to the apostle Paul, and from what I understand, he was able to have that kind of proximity to Jesus's mother, to have all these things. You learned something today, didn't you?
I learned it. I just learned this, and I'm I'm learning more every single day. And this is how we're going to do it. This is how we're going to grow. This is how we're going to stand.
This is how we're going to withstand. And that is truth. Talk loud. This is Peter Rosenberg. I'll be right back.
You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. This is Peter Rosenberg. Glad to be with you. Eight six six three four truth.
Eight six six three four eight seventy eight eighty four. If you want to weigh into the program, did you hear the ads? By the way, did you hear Dr. Jeffries talking about the the the authority? And and and the things we're talking about, and then by the way, there was another ad for health, and I just want to piggyback on that.
Get yourself checked out. Earlier this year, I went for a regular physical. I have them every year. Get I I check in so they can check me out, and they put me up on the rack, and they found cancer, and I didn't know. I would not have known had I not had a regular physical.
And you know, I do a radio program for caregivers, and I write books for caregivers. I write articles for caregivers. Every, I do so much for the family caregiver that that I am trying to to dump everything that I've learned as best as I can into meaningful ways that that fellow caregivers can hopefully avoid some of the mistakes that I've made, and and they've been doozies. But I've been doing this for forty years. But I've noticed one thing about caregivers is they don't see to their own health very often.
They they usually put it off and take care of their loved one. Seventy percent of caregivers don't see their doctor regularly.
Now there are sixty-five million caregivers.
Now you do the math, and we got a real problem here. And so I'm asking you, would you be a good steward of your body? Particularly if you are caring for somebody, particularly if somebody is counting on you to take care of them, you know, I if I get a if I hurt my foot or I get a splinter in my foot or or cut my foot or do something, my wife doesn't have any feet, and so how ridiculous is it for me to say, well, I don't want to complain about my foot, I don't want to get that treated because she doesn't have any. I I need to just. Tough it out.
No, these are the only feet she can count on. And so I want to go properly be good stewards of it, and that's what Doctor Jeffries was talking about in the ad there: being stewards and so forth of these things. Be a good steward. Go see your doctor. Get a get a checkup.
Get Do a regular colonoscopy, whatever they tell you to do every ten years, every five years, or whatever you got to do. Do what is necessary to be a good steward, so that you can better equip yourself to take care of whoever you got to take care of. Maybe you don't have anybody that's impaired, maybe, but you got a family, you got a wife, you got kids, whatever. You got a husband. Be a good steward of your body, okay.
And and and I came to this. Startling conclusion one time, that I'm no good to my wife if I'm fat, broken, miserable. I mean, she's had almost a hundred surgeries. She doesn't need me being a hot mess physically, emotionally, spiritually, or financially. I'm no good to her if I'm fat, broken, miserable.
So let's don't be those things. And and let's go. And if you want to see more information, you can go. I put out tons of articles. Everything is free.
It goes into an archive that's behind a paywall after a couple of weeks. But I put everything I put out is free at my Substack.
So write this down: caregiver. Dot substack. Dot com. Substack's like an online newsletter. And you can put video, audio, print, so forth.
And I put all these things out there to help deal with this. And there is something you'll really enjoy. I saw there is a lady I follow on X, and she posted a picture. It was kind of funny of two shoes laying on a sidewalk, and it it was at night in a deserted street area. And she said, after the the left behind series, I thought the rapture would be a little bit more dramatic.
Which I thought okay, that's kind of cute, that's kind of funny. But I saw something. I said, "Well, I'll see that, and I'll raise you a couple of legs." So I took a picture of Gracie's prosthetic legs sitting out there, and and the Rocky Mountains are behind it, and it's looking out over the valley. The legs are just standing up on their own, and I said, "Here's what it looked like if Jesus returns today in Southwest Montana." And but then again, I hope I'm not the one taking the picture, and I got left behind. But that's a separate issue.
But anyway, well, it it. It turned out to be more of a moment, and when she saw the picture, and others saw it, and and then I sent it to my friend Johnny Tata, and and I said, um, I'm just because I was just, I mean, I'm just goofy that way, and and Johnny said, you need to write about this, so I did, and it's the things we leave, the things we will leave behind. And I think you'll like this article, caregiver.substack. dot com, caregiver. substack.
dot com. If you want to see more, and I put, like I said, I put all these things out there because I really don't want you to have to fall into some of the things I did. And I didn't have anything like this. I had to forage for everything I've learned, and I want to be a good steward of that and pass it on to as many people as possible. And also, I spend a lot of time talking about theology.
In on my program, it airs on this on this network on Saturday afternoons, because I want us to know what we believe and why we believe it, what we believe and why we do believe it, because that's how we're going to be able to withstand all these things that are coming. Look at look at the way the world is going right now. Look at the crazy. Look at France. You know.
Look at all this stuff. It's it's just a mess. It's time for us to step up, and not be just caricatures or or stereotypes, of of that get lampooned. You see how they've portrayed Christians in the media and so forth. Enough of that, enough of that.
We are serious people, on a serious mission from a serious Savior.
So let's act like.
Okay, and let's start studying and be able to speak with wisdom and clarity and truth into the midst of all these crazy things.
Okay, and and that's that's where I'm going with all the things that I do, and that's why I talk about these things. That's why I got into the thing with with Proverbs today and Romans 13, and does for example, does Romans 13 require us to obey everything the government commands? No, no, our obligation is to a human authority. Is it is subject subject to our obligation unto God.
So we must obey God rather than men. In Acts five twenty nine, the apostle said, "Well, it cost him, but they stood their ground." And the government, if it commands disobedience, I mean, look at these, you know, doctors that want to, they, you know, with transgender surgeries and all that kind of stuff, and all the pressure was going on. There, you say no to this stuff. They can't command you as a physician to perform an abortion. The government has no power over this, and if they do, it's time to take a stand.
And we we we have got to be prepared for this because it's coming. The overreach is already here. I am convinced that COVID was a trial run for some of these people. And and the overreach is here. And and and it is in the nature of man to subjugate other people.
It is in our nature to do this. But it is the nature of Christ. To serve, he came to serve. And he gives us a new nature. Do you not see this now?
And so we have to constantly be vigilant about others who would abuse, and subjugate, and take advantage of, and assault, and harm others. And the state is supposed to step into that, and it is ordained by God to do this. And if the state fails to do this. That's why these these things that the state is doing are so egregious. They're letting these people out on society who have committed these atrocious crimes.
They're trying to get them off on whatever else, and they're trying to make the the criminals the victim. And this is this is where we as believers have to stand up and push back against this. We cannot allow this to continue. He said, "Well, Peter, what can I do?
Well, you vote. If every Christian voted, this country would be a much different place. Make sure you vote every election, every time you show up, and ask others to as well. And don't be afraid to share what your thoughts are on this. And here is what the Scripture teaches: Don't be afraid to share that.
Don't be." They're certainly not afraid to slam the scripture and the Savior that you serve, so don't be afraid to push back on it. It may cost you, yeah, it cost him a lot more. Cost him a lot more. And so, are we prepared to make our voices heard? Not because we're trying to, because this political party or that political party, but because we are voting with the conscience of Scripture, not with the conscience of well, this is the guy I like.
Okay, sometimes we have to hold our nose and vote for certain people, but we're trying to right a ship here, and we we understand that we're not electing a savior. But we're—it's a job interview. Who can do the best job to get the job done? For example, protecting the border. They lied to us.
They said the border was secure while they brought in millions of people who want to cause undue damage to this country. They lied. I mean, it's there. There it is. I mean, argue with me if you want.
You say, Peter, you're too political. The the border was open. They lied. They lied about it. And they perpetuated the lie.
We know that the Russia collusion thing was a lie. We know it was. They've already said it was. I didn't. It's not my words; it's theirs.
We've got to be prepared. We've got to stand up, make our voices heard, and get involved. Put our shoulder to the wheel. We've got a country to protect, so that we may live peacefully. Paul says very clearly, when it when possible, when it's up to you, do what is necessary to live peacefully.
Well, guess what? It's up to you. You have a vote. You have a say.
So, make sure you use it, and do it responsibly. You heard Stu Epperson in the commercial talk about that being a good steward of that.
Okay, would you do that? Go out again if you want to read that article. I think you'll really like it. Caregiver.substack.com. You can download the app on your phone.
It'll send stuff to you right away. It's. I think you'll enjoy it. I think you'll find it meaningful. And I do appreciate the time I've had with you today.
