This is the Truth Network. I'm driving down the open road with the great-grandson of. C.K. Chesterton, a great Theologian His name is Amori Chesterton. He's a musician.
He loves the Lord. How many languages do you speak, Amori?
Well, I s I speak a few. And uh the privilege with speaking uh these uh major languages, either English, Spanish or French, is that you also can understand some of the regional dialects, whether it be, you know, Creole or Patois. Uh in Caribbean variations or even some of the the local dialects of Spanish, yeah. This young man loves Jesus. He's multicultural.
He's been in many different countries. Amori, I want to talk to you especially about this next generation. You are a young person, you're still in your 20s. What is happening with your generation? How can our listeners pray for your generation and reach your generation with the gospel?
What's God doing? Wow, what an interesting question.
So I think we've really shifted from a day and age of contemporary and the old school. classic Vibe. Which is sophistication and eloquency into a new era of. being hip and and trendy and savvy. There's so many different words nowadays for my generation on what it means to be cool.
And when we consider bringing the gospel to the new youths, I I would Strongly advocate that the children of the new generations need to know that Jesus is cool. Like Jesus stepping in and defeating death, defeating the serpent, kicking out sin. That is really cool and I I would just wonder if The disposition of the world has changed. It's no longer about eloquency, but rather being contemporary from a new standpoint. That, yeah, we want the kids to know we ought to respect God, that He is near.
He's not distant because He's this unreachable holiness, but He is a reachable holiness. Howbeit, if we seek, as we thirst, He is willing to give in overflowing ways. You've written or recorded over 100 songs, Amori. that really Are driven by the Lord, the Bible, Scripture. Tell us about your passion for music.
and why that's so important in reaching young people.
Well with us all the grace of the Lord oh show He is more than we could ever know And my favorite thing is to be able to write a song on the spot, record it, get it done. And so the Lord is, He is the endless inspiration. Music is His, and there's going to be a lot of music in heaven. Amen. Amen.
Well, we're going to do one little experiment here. I want to press this a little bit with you. We are the Truth Network. The name of the show that I host, Truth Talk or Truth Talk Live. And we try to engage with scripture.
I'm giving you some like lyrical direction here. We try to challenge people in the word and to grow in Christ. Could you do a little quick song about the truth network, the importance of truth? The truth will set you free. Whatever comes to your heart, your mind.
Here we go. Ready? Amori Chesterton. Just with hearing what you're hearing, folks, in real time, we didn't prep for this. Uh with a little quick uh truth little lyric.
Here we go. Here it comes, ready. Shout it out for the name of the Lord. Shout it out, let all the nations know. The truth network is here to show you he's the way.
Shout it out from the rooftops. They shouted out from the graves. We are one people, a nation under God, and Jesus has overcome. Amen. No guitar, total acapoco, as they say, a cappella.
Amori, that's wonderful.
So you've done this and you've written songs. Your mission or your vision with your music is what? What are you trying to accomplish with all that? Yeah, the uh the Lord actually told me just over five years ago now, I think it was closer to seven years ago. He said Continue to play flamenco.
My background is in Spanish style and classical training. I used to play 10 hours a day when I was in my young years and early teenage years. He said. Focus on your catalog building right now. Write songs for the generations that appreciate smooth and sophistication, but also bring up music for the new nations and the new peoples.
And so he's called me into writing genres that you could never think could be fused with Christian values. For example, electronic dance music, when we consider modern RB or even funk and pop. The Lord has connected me with the most incredible musicians from Germany, from Spain, even some in the United States. And we are, yeah, we're writing Jesus EDM music. We're making Christian music sound cool, we're making it sound fresh.
And my vision, my goal is really to be able, one, to render the music back to the Lord and to be able to share it through publishing avenues and really give back to the people.
Well, we met you when we were visiting a Christian college in Florida, West Paul Each Atlantic. And my niece went there with you. Two of my nieces went there. My other, my daughter, didn't end up going there, but you're one of the first people we met. You were there with your mom and dad.
And I distinctly remember this moment because you graciously offered to pray for us. We're in an impasse, you know, decisions and in a different town, and you were so gracious to offer to pray for us. And since that time, I've always wondered. Who is Amori Chesterton? How do you answer that question?
Tell us a little bit about your testimony: what the Lord has done to save you, and what He's doing in your life right now. Yeah. a lowly servant, a man who Has had his life changed through the reconciliation in Christ. And if I could be counted for so worthy as to participate in the great love of Jesus, that is my. My greatest testimony that is my life's work to be able to render myself and all the works I do to Him who has saved me and uh.
And the Lord has gone before. He's planning big things in the life of the people and his children who are ordained. And I just feel so blessed to be able to. To have a relationship with God, who are we to? Have a relationship with God, but highly favored, loved children of the Most High, He is yearning to know us and to have that relationship of intimacy.
Man, you have a burden for the nations. Talk about your heart for Europe, something that's really been heavy on you. That's where a lot of these, the great. Reformation, a lot of the powerful pastors, pre, you know, Spurgeon and others. They they really uh inspired A lot of the revivals in America, and now it's kind of dried up.
But you don't think God's Del Europe yet, do you? Tell us about that. Absolutely not. You know, I came across this term recently speaking to some evangelists I met in passing. That's always my favorite way to meet other evangelists.
The 1040 window. I thought, okay, that's interesting. And then also there's this concept of Europe being post-Christianity. Can I just share Europe is an origin of peoples. There are native Europeans to each and every single one of the countries that are out there, and there are many native people, whether it's native English people, native French, native Spanish, Italian, all the above, who have never heard the gospel.
And mind you, even since several hundreds and even over a thousand years ago, the church that was there was Catholic. We've heard of the Lutheran reform in Germany. And its effects, yes, have rippled internationally, but on the grand scale of things, we really need to be sending more missionaries. back to Europe because the the nation All European nations right now are so in need of of this love and For anyone listening to this podcast who has a heart for mission, you speak English. Yes, praise be the Lord.
You can go to India. You can go to Malaysia. You can go to African nations. Yes, these people need the gospel. And you speak English.
You're also able to go to England. You're able to go to Scotland. You're able to go to Ireland. These are regions in Europe that are just looking for a great revival. And let us not overlook the motherland, our homeland.
It is not an excuse to say, well, the Catholics were there. That is not sufficient. We need to be active around the world and we cannot negate Europe just because, whatever the excuse might be. One more question. What's it like to be the great-grandson of C.K.
Chesterton, one of the most quoted theologians in modernity who has said a lot of profound things? What's that like to be in that heritage, that lineage? Yeah, well, you know, G.K. Chesterton wrote the Father Brown stories and he he was uh a very well-known epistle writer in England in in the time and uh it it's humbling whenever I meet someone that Acknowledge my ancestry. I suppose the bar has been set high, but praise be the Lord, it is the bar of the Lord, and He gives us that ability to reach for it and.
you know, he uh he feels like family. That's who he is, and the Lord has permitted the continuation of the poetry through music. You know, he was a writer, and I suppose the Lord has permitted me to continue it through poetry of sound. Wow, what's the best website? Folks want to hear your music, they want to download some of your songs.
I guess you're on different platforms like iTunes and other things.
Well, how do they find you? Yeah, I mean uh they can find me on Instagram as Amory. or they can search for me on Spotify and find a few different tunes. And also tune into the Truth Network to listen to God-fearing conversations and direct quotes of Scripture. Love it.
Truth to the line.
