This is the Truth Network. This is the Truth Network. Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right. Let's talk the truth.

I can't hide it. Oh yeah. But A daily program powered by the Truth Network. This is kind of a great thing, I'll tell you what. Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together.

Speak your mind. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host. Can you defend your faith? Is there evidence? to defend your faith.

Are you comf comfortable enough to have A uh In chance. Impromptu conversation with somebody who just has various questions about the faith. Can you do that?

Well today we have Stephen Jumper who can answer all those questions. He wrote a book on apologetics. And he made it so that anybody that hasn't Heard about Christianity, about defending the faith, about apologetics. He wrote a simple, basic book that anybody can pick up and start talking about their faith. The book is called Don't Cut the Grass on Sunday.

And he's in the studio with me today.

So I want to welcome Mr. Stephen Jumper. Welcome to the show, sir. Jamal, hey man, I am so excited to be with you, brother. We got to appreciate Stu Epperson for letting us do this.

uh all our friends at Wednesday and the Word.

So uh Just shout out to them, and I'm so excited to talk about yes, my book, Don't Cut the Grass, on Sunday. A lot of people might wonder: how in the world does that tie into anything to do with our faith and spirituality and the gospel? Yeah. Amen to that. Amen.

So There's What Is a passion of mine. We've talked about politics before, we've talked about other faiths, but this is my wheelhouse.

Now, I'm not an expert like you are, Stephen, but I could talk about this literally all day. This is something that I've told Mr. Tim Hanauer at Pinedale. I've told him this comes into every facet of society. Where are they talking about the economy?

You're talking about the least of these, you know, welfare, the poor. talking about corruption and crime, crime and punishment. It covers all of this when you talk about apologetics. It also talks about science, biology, history, geography, even astronomy. This is something, again, that I could do.

and talk about all day. But before I get uh started And before we um And get real deep into it. I do want to thank our sponsors because without our sponsors, we wouldn't even have a program to talk about this.

So we have here Mighty Muscadine Juice and No Sugar, No Carbs. And fully antioxidants. Nice, healthy drink drink when you're on the go. Steve Jumper has the LeBlue portion. And that is the...

Fin tastic, and this is going to be the blueberry cherry pomegranate. Uh side. And no calories, no carbs. There you go, no calories, no carbs. And LeBlue also has a bottled water, and they have the best filtration process, which gives you the best taste and also the cleanest, purest water that you can get out there.

Also, we want to mention Limitless Golf. uh Lemma's golf carts, to to be more exact. This is great golf cart weather for the beach. Ride around in your complex. Go see them on Silas Creek Parkway.

They're right across the street from Forsyth Tech. And just a few blocks over is going to be Mr. Barbecue. They are on Peters Creek Parkway. And shout out to any affiliates, any supporters of the Truth Network and Truth Talk Live that allows us to bring shows to you like this.

So. With that being said, we have a caller that I really want to get to. And. I want to get to him right now because he's also in apologetics. You and him will get along.

And after that call, we're going to get more into your book. But he called up quick, so I want to get to him quick. This is going to be Pastor Kareem from the church, the Bible Church in Clements. And he has a very interesting background. He is somebody from the Middle East.

And he came over here and He is an engineer. And he's somebody that preaches the Bible word for word, line by line. And his church is full of. People from different parts of the Middle East.

So, when we have a church full of Middle Easterners within our borders, within Forsyth County, that is amazing. I never heard of another church like that. I've been there a few times. They're a great church there in Clements. Again, the Bible Church of Clements.

Go check them out. But Boyne, welcome to the show. Pastor Cream, how are you doing, Pastor? I'm good, Jamal. Thank you for inviting me.

Yes, sir.

So we're talking about apologetics and we're talking about kind of breaking it down on a basic level to where it can be conversational. What can you add to this conversation, sir? One of the things I guess I personally focus on, our church is composed of what we would call first generation immigrants and second generation So the first generation are those who have come directly from various nations in Africa. and the Middle East and actually other nations, including Latin America. And the second generation are those who were Children of those immigrants who were born in the United States and have been.

Have been raised here with the educational system and the philosophies in the Western world. And for me, what is especially important is I think the attack on the Christian faith. Has never been in my lifetime as significant as it is today. Amen.

So we can't. Yeah, and for that reason, quite simply, that's second generation needs to know and i i think this applies to all our children needs to know not only what to believe, But why do they believe it? Yes. And that's the answer that Apologetic provides. There you go, there you go.

So I like talking about your background so much. And hopefully, I don't just overwhelm you by doing that, but it's something that I find fascinating because I hear so many times about the Western version of Christianity, about the white man's Bible and all that. And here you are, you have a church full of black and brown people speaking multiple different languages. think the last time I checked you had Correct me if I'm wrong, is it 14 different nationalities at your church? You got it.

We've added two more since then, but that's right. At the time, fourteen was the right number. Quickly, just give me a few of those, or give our listeners a few of those nationalities that tend your church. Yeah, sure.

So, when you talk about Africa, Egypt, To the end When you talk about the Middle East, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Jordan. Palestine, Israel. when you want to talk about the Western world, England, US When you want to talk about Latin America, we've got Honduras, we've got even the Philippines and Asia.

So that's a sampling of some of the nations. There you go. You heard that, folks.

So that should. you know, stomp that Thing about a Western form of Christianity. Real quick, because we have Jack on the line, I want to get to Jack also. Tell me what is some core apologetic things that you hold dear to, something that is one of your or maybe some of your go-tos as far as apologetics. Are we uh Are you with me, Pastor?

Did we lose you? Was that directed to Jack or to me? Oh, that was directed to you, Pastor.

Sorry about that. Yeah. So just to reiterate the question, what are some of your core go-tos as far as apologetics? Sure, sure. I mean, I think you start with the fundamentals.

And by the way, just a comment, someone who says Christianity Is the white man's religion clearly knows very little about history, the Bible? or how to validate things historically. Jesus was a Jew. And the early the disciples of the first church were predominantly Jews living in the land. Today we call Israel.

And it went out from there north.

South East And West. And so just it's uh It's a statement that comes from someone who really does not know their history. Apologetics.

So I mean, I think we have to start with the fundamentals, which is to me is, you know, how can we know what is true? What defines truth? How do we validate what's true? moral arguments, historical arguments, etc. Then On that, we can say okay.

We have a method, laws of non-contradiction, for example.

Something cannot be true and false at the same time. When you agree on the simple, logical, moral foundation, So we can have a discussion, right? And we don't twist ourselves like a pretzel. And that foundation is based on God's and how He created us as thinking logical. Beings.

And on that foundation, we can then ask the most fundamental questions. Right? Origin of the universe, and then you go from there to the Christian specific arguments. There you go. Hey, thank you very much for calling in, Pastor.

Jack, we're going to come back to you, Pastor. Uh, thank you for calling in. We'll try to get you back on sometime. Bible Church and Clements, check them out. We have Steve Jumper here.

Don't Cut the Grass on Sunday. That's the book for apologetics on a basic level. Truth Talk Live. We'll be right back. Truth Talk Live.

You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. We're talking about apologetics. We're talking about apologetics on a basic level to where it's just conversational. We have an author here that's done that for us.

His name is Stephen Jumper. It's called Don't Cut the Grass on Sunday, a Monday conversation for the non-Christian and skeptics alike. I've read this book. It's a good book. It's good to share.

It's good to start conversations with. It's also a good reference tool to keep around with you. Um,. We had Pastor Kareem that weighed in on apologetics himself. And I thank Pastor Kareem for chiming in.

We have Jack, who's also in apologetics, but we're going to hold off on Jack for right now. We want to have Steve Jumper touch in on some of the fundamentals of the Bible that Pastor Kareem was talking about.

So. You want to follow up with What Pastor talked about with the fundamentals of the Bible.

So, um, what what did you want to add on, uh, Jumper? Uh yeah, Jamal, um Pastor Kareem mentioned um The fundamentals. He likes to start with the fundamentals.

Well, in my book, um, After I address the non-Christian, I kind of define who that is, and I go through that for a couple chapters, and we may discuss that a little bit. I have a chapter in there called Basics Before the Basics. and just trying to set the stage for the reader. To get prepared for all the information that is to come. And one of the things, as far as a fundamental goes, biblically, as Christians, we have two main sources that we trust and we learn from and we grow, and that is the Bible.

the written word of God. And then the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit helps us understand that word, helps us grow in that word. And so that's one of the basic fundamentals that I identified early on. The other three, I had four altogether, but the other three were the Trinity, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, which is something we can have a whole show about.

Definitely. Basic number three is faith. It comes down to faith, believing, and acting on it. And then basic number four: heaven or hell. The Bible teaches us there is an eternal destiny for all.

There is a heaven and there is a hell.

So, those are four things I identify early on in the book, and we can talk about that a little bit more. Yeah, these are very key sources to talk about. One of the things that kind of scared me when we were talking about evangelizing, or when I was talking about evangelizing as an earlier Christian. Um I thought I had to go to seminary. I thought I had to walk around with this big, huge Bible.

And I thought I had to have all kinds of scriptures memorized and all kinds of arguments and debates under my belt. We don't really have to have all of that. It's good to be as equipped as possible. But uh a lot of this can be just memorizing a few scriptures. A lot of it can be your own personal testimony.

And a lot of it can be just pointing to uh different uh parts of evidence here and there.

So, but before we continue, because he's been a very patient listener, we want to go to another apologist and Jack. He's taught a class out at Calvary. Calvary Baptist off of Peace Having the Country Club. I've attended that class and I've listened to a few of his different teachings. The guy knows his stuff.

So Jack, get on in here and what do you want to add on to the topic for today? Yes, sir, brother. Thank you for letting me know about this conversation today. As an 11-year-old child sitting in a Sunday school class, and actually, my parents didn't attend church, so I had a friend take me. on a school bus that the church owned.

And a bunch of us kid eleven year old kids were hauled off that church and put into this Dear Sweet Ladies Class. I can't even remember her name. but I do remember that she used flannel graphs. And she gave out the word of God. And the first time I ever heard John 3:16.

It went right into my heart. And as she talked about the resurrection of Christ, and obviously. As I remember back, this was uh in at Easter when I was uh taken to church that day. And I sat there and I listened to that, and I just marveled. And the way that she presented the gospel using flanographs to 11-year-old kids.

It touched all of us. And she used the very simple verses, like we said, John 3:16, John 1-1, John. Uh she went off. She didn't give us a whole lot of scripture, but she gave us four or five.

So well, I was she asked the folks that day And we all felt convicted, at least I did. And she asked, is there anyone here who would like to receive Christ? And I raised my hand and she said, not just me, but others. We raised our hands and she said, Okay, bow your heads. Ask God.

to forgive you of your sins and inviting to come into your heart. And be your God and Savior. Amen.

And when I did that, I'm not going to tell you that suddenly lights flashed or the heavens sounded or anything like that. But I knew something different had occurred.

So as I grew older and I I made a promise to the Lord. I said, Lord. When I get my driver's license at age 16, my parents didn't take me to church, but I said, I'm going to church.

So that fire that she had ignited at age 11 shone brightly at 16.

So when I did get my driver's license, I held my promise to the Lord, took myself to church. And there, I got associated with a pastor who began to open the Word of God to me and show me. It reminds me, as I think back to it, to the wonderful verse in Hebrews. that says that the Word of God is alive. It's like a sword.

That is able to cut through the bones, through marrow, through your heart. And it is.

So I have learned through the years that, yeah, I can tell you about the Bible. I can tell you how it was written. I tell you when it was written. I tell you who wrote it. I can tell you all about its history.

Because I went to a Bible college and got a college degree. There you go. You got a big background in apologetics, but I want people to call in and challenge us, add in their own stories. Let me give out the number. It's going to be 866-348-7884.

Again, that's 866-348-7884. Jack, just to jump in real quick, can you hold on to the next segment? Sure, sure, absolutely. Good, good.

So, Jumper, when. Uh Jack was talking about um his belief in the Bible when he was talking about um How he felt convicted and just wanted to learn all he could about the Bible. Is that something that kind of inspired you? Because I know that your grandparents were a big inspiration, and then your mother was a big inspiration. A lot of people, also myself included, didn't come out of the womb saying, Let me learn about Jesus.

So for. you to have the inspiration to learn about Jesus' apologetics in the in the book, what started you off on your journey? Yeah, so Jamal, I was listening to Jack and talking as he talked about his teacher. We all have so many teachers, parents, grandparents. Friends and family, you and I have one of the best mentors in Stu Epperson.

So that's right. And another teacher of mine in high school, Mr. B.C. Crawford. He was an English teacher.

It wasn't a Bible college, it was about learning to write. And to just have this passion for writing. My mother in reading books that didn't necessarily have anything to do with the Christian faith, but my grandparents, my good old Southern Baptist grandparents from Saluda, South Carolina, I mean, they were a huge influence on me and my sister as we were growing up. I grew up in the Lutheran church. That's a little bit contrast to the Southern Baptist Church, and I talk about that in the book.

But man, it was all about at one point, it became all about getting ready for Sunday. And what we were going to do on Sunday was go to church. We were going to eat and probably take a nap and actually go visit people, which people don't do anymore. My grandmother took us to visit some friends and family in the nursing home, and then we went to visit family in the neighborhood. But, you know, Don't Cut the Grass on Sunday came about.

In regards to doing all your chores before Sunday got there, cutting the grass, dealing with the farm. doing cooking on Saturday, doing laundry, and uh and so that Sunday you basically could go to church and and uh honor the Sabbath and rest. Right, right. I also wanted to highlight a little bit more about Jumper's background. He is a financial advisor.

He's been in missions.

So the guy, he has. A professional background that's stellar, but it's still. kind of led him to Find that there's got to be something more than just money and you know just making money and He wrote a book on apologetics don't cut the grass on Sunday. Hey, we're gonna lose some of you guys, but stay tuned on the app You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Ah!

Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. We are here with author Stephen Jumper. He's written a book called Don't Cut the Grass on Sunday, a Monday Conversation for Non-Christians and Skeptics Alike. This book is about making The apologetics, defending of the faith, making it conversational to where we're not. talking over your head with a whole bunch of the theological terms.

This, these and thousands and whatnot, just regular conversations, but we have it broken down to where we do have a theological influence on it. but it's easily easily digestible. It's easy to To talk about it when you're at the grocery store, coffee shop, what have you? He's written the book, he's kind of done the hard work for us. Again, don't cut the grass on Sunday.

We have Jack waiting, but we want you to call. Call us up, 866-348.

Sorry, 866-6. 348-7884. Again, that is 866-348. 348-7884. But before we get back to the conversation, We have a concert coming up April 18th at 7 p.m.

This is going to be at Triad Baptist Church in Kernersville. We have four tickets available. Uh you can call us up. The uh office number is on the website. And this is going to be Natalie Grant.

Natalie Grant Heard her sing, amazing voice. We also have somebody that's going to be partnering up with her by the name of Parker Webb. I've heard that group as well. Heard him a couple of times.

So I'm speaking from personal experience. Again, go check him out. April 18th at 7 p.m., Triad Baptist Church in Kernesville. Four tickets are available. And we can have some available for the first two callers.

So call us up again, 866-348-7884. Jack is being patient waiting on hold, but we will get to him real quick. But I wanted you to finish your conversation or finish what you're talking about, Jumper, about. The inspiration about how you wrote the book, but not just the inspiration. I'm kind of going to give you a load of question here.

How you had one of your teachers teach you writing. and why that's also important, how that could be led into apologetics.

So I mentioned science. I mentioned history. We could talk about your writing. You can use all of that in the realm of apologetics.

Well, how does that work out?

Well, when you are. Building your your your case and you have a background in finance and writing like you do. One of the mission fields could be the financial office. Um You're at that meeting? You're talking about the bottom line, and you bring up that.

Hey, well, don't you know that we are talking about money, but God said. We have to be good stewards of our money. We have to be good stewards of our resources.

So, finish up what you're talking about, about your inspiration and about how we can talk about apologetics. We can talk about your book no matter where we are. And we'll get to Jack after you finish up. Yeah, Jamal, what you're talking about is marketplace ministry. And for the folks listening, if you are not a pastor, We can go places that pastors cannot.

And that's why it's important to know your gospel and know your Bible. and be able to strike up conversations with people. You make them non-threatening, an easy conversation, basically sharing information about what you believe and what they believe or don't believe. And that was part of the inspiration for writing the book. Talking about Um People who did not believe, but knew little or nothing about the Bible or Christianity.

The inspiration for the title, when my grandfather said that to me about Just Don't Cut the Grass on Sunday. I always thought that would make a great title for a book. But what would I write about? And Um for 15, 20. 30 years, I had no idea, but Fortunately, um As you've mentioned, I got into mission work.

I went on two great mission trips to Russia with. My church, Calvary Baptist Church. locally here in Winston-Salem. and then got connected with a nonprofit called International Commission out of near Dallas, Texas, and went on four fantastic trips to Southeast Asia. And those trips to Southeast Asia were all about evangelism.

They were all about sharing the gospel and nonstop for seven days. And you would talk to people that had never heard the name Jesus. And so you brought them hope and grace and forgiveness like they had never. Had before. But coming back to the United States, I ended up working for International Commission for three years and planning short-term mission trips across the United States.

And I run into the American church and the culture in the country, and wow, was it difficult to talk to people about your faith in Christianity? What a challenge that was. And so. It all came together in regards to: hey, why don't you just focus on writing to the non-believer, the non-Christian, the skeptic, the atheist, the agnostic? In the first two chapters, when I addressed the reader, Who are you?

If you're not Christian, then what are you? And then so if you don't believe, what do you believe? What is the basis of your faith or what you believe, if it even is a faith? And then where does that come from? What's your upbringing?

Because our environment has a tremendous effect on what we believe. And so, in those first two chapters, trying to let them know: hey, I just want to convey some information to you that you don't have. If you'll. Take an open approach with me. I'm going to share this with you in a non-threatening, Non-theological.

I'm going to try to take out as much churchy type language as I can and just convey the information to you.

Now, Another point that I mentioned to the reader was the fact of: hey, I'm not going to try to convert you, I'm going to tell you what. The gospel is, I'm going to tell you how to become a Christian because if I don't do that, I'm not. sharing the truth with you. But I'd let them know, and you and I know this, that it, and I mentioned this to Stu yesterday, that it is the Holy Spirit that converts people. It's not us.

And so I do want to encourage the listeners that if you are out there and you are sharing your faith and you're sharing your testimony, you're sharing the gospel. And you feel, and I had felt this responsibility: like it's up to me, it's all up to me. I've got to say this exactly right, I've got to do this the right way and take the right approach, right? And I would mess it up, I would walk away a lot of times feeling guilty because I just couldn't do it or didn't know how to do it. And practice does make perfect, so you have to do it over and over again.

But in the end, it's not you that is converting someone to the faith, the Holy Spirit has to fall on them, and the Holy Spirit. um go gets inside of them and they come much like um Jack was talking about with his personal testimony when he was younger, and the teacher that, you know, he, John 3:16, he said he just felt something had changed, something had happened to him. And on my trips to Southeast Asia, not only could I. I could see the person. Change right in front of my eyes.

I could literally see their countenance change and the Holy Spirit fall on them. It was a beautiful thing. And I want to get into that process, and we're going to come back to Jack. Before we go to our next break, and thanks for patiently waiting, Jack. But we also want to give out the number one more time for these tickets.

You can call this number for the tickets. Natalie Grant, sorry, Natalie Grant, April 18th. At the Tribe Baptist Church in Kernsville. Four tickets available. 866-348-7884.

Again, a little bit slower. 866. three four eight seven eight eight four so we have just a A little bit of time, Jack, but I want to kind of get into the meat of it. When you are witnessing to somebody and they say, well, your Bible is false and your Bible is corrupted, the universe can create itself. I want to pose this question to you first, and I'll let Jumper jump on.

No plain attendant there.

So, Jack, give me about 30 seconds of your response to what I just laid out.

Well, if a person comes to me and they say, you know, the Bible is fake, it's not real. Uh to be honest with you, I don't try to prove the Bible. No, I can I can. Go to Josh McDowell's book, Evidence and Demands Verdict, which was the great first book I ever picked up on apologetics, and was really what whip my appetite about it. But I just I just ignore that.

I just giving them the scripture because Brother Jumper well said, and he is absolutely right. Yeah, I don't save anybody. It's the Holy Spirit that convicts.

Now, the Holy Spirit is only convict. convicting when I give out the word of God.

So I just ignore those, to be honest with you.

Now, there are people who are genuine skeptics. Maybe they've been educated out of it and all this kind of thing. And I'll try to answer their questions about how it was that the word of God was written, how was it that it came about? How was it that the Holy Spirit came upon the writers? And all these things.

There are books upon books upon books. And by the way, Brother Jumper, I'm going to get yours. That sounds really intriguing. All right. Thank you.

Appreciate it. We have a buyer. And also, real quick. We have his book available at my favorite bookstore, Gullions in King. And also it's available on Amazon.

Available on Amazon and BarnesandNobles.com. And BarnesandNoble.com.

So Gullians Bookstore in King and the Statesville area, available online at Amazon, and also available online at Barnes Noble. But just wanted to shout that out real quick. But go ahead and finish your point in the next 10 seconds with you, Jack. My path to witnessing was learning what we call has been called the Romans Road. And I don't care what they throw at me.

They can say, ah, you know, like I said, the Bible is fake, it's false. Y you're crazy. They can say all and I've had some of those things said at me. I just ignore them. And I just keep walking down the Romans Road.

I just keep giving them the gospel because it's the gospel, the belief, the Word of God as it reaches out and touches hearts, just like it did mine. And I'm so reminded of Romans 2.15. It says, They show the work of the law as written in their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse them or even excuse them.

So the the word of God is already written in our hearts. His Holy Spirit is driving it to us when it's given out. That's right, Jack. Yeah, and that's a very good point. And the Bible also talks about how it has to be a movement of the heart, not just the head.

But hey, Jack, thank you for calling in. I appreciate your input. Sure, buddy. He's at Calvary Baptist Church.

So check him out for an apologetics class. Good class. Check him out. Thanks for calling in. God bless Jack.

But jump, we have a little bit of time before we go to our next break.

So to follow up behind that. Jack mentioned about the Bible being fake. We have scientists talk about how the universe can create itself. We don't need a creator for the universe. Evolution is the way we have what we have right now.

But we are going to a break, but that's just to witch your appetite, guys. Tune in for the next segment. We're coming right back. Jumper can answer all these questions. If you have any questions, concerns, if you have anything that you just want to bring up.

Call us up 866-348-7884. Don't forget those tickets also. Natalie Grant this Saturday with Parker Webb 866-388-848-848- 348-7884. Call in. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com.

Uh Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. We are talking about basic apologetics and how to make it conversational. Doesn't have to be church with a whole lot of You know, these and thou's, and a whole lot of theological wording that doesn't make sense to the regular person, but. Can you talk about it? Can you defend it?

Can you defend it to somebody else? Do you have a source to go to? To Uh answer answer any questions. I have in my hand one of those sources. It's called Don't Cut the Grass on Sunday.

A Monday Conversation for the Non-Christian and Skeptics Alike, written by Stephen Jumper, who's hitting who's sitting here with me right now. But we also have. For those just tuning in. Tickets for Natalie Grant April 18th, this Saturday at 7 p.m. at Tribe Baptist Church in Kernesville.

Four tickets available for the first two callers. That's a great deal, and you're not going to find that anywhere else.

So, the number to get these tickets, and also the number to call in and challenge us, or if you want to add in something. It's going to be 866-348-7884. Again, 866-348-7884. But just to jump right in, because There is just so much information, so much content. That we cannot get to.

So, I'm just gonna jump right in there. Evolution is big right now. People talking about they are science to represent science. You know, we heard that from Dr. Fauci during the COVID thing.

A lot of people say that we don't need God because science can.

Solve everything. But I will say this. Neil deGrasse Tyson. Uh Astrophysicists. He mentioned that Science can say how something has been created.

but cannot mention why. and he said he's fine with not knowing why.

Well, as somebody that claims to be somebody that's finding truth and go to the evidence and all that, why don't you want to know why? I want to know all the questions. I want to know who, what, when, where, and why. Apologetics does that. But in regards to the evolution debate, What would you say?

Referencing your book. If somebody hit me with evolution, Don't cut the grass on Sunday. Is that going to tell me about evolution? And is that going to tell me about evolution? And how to defeat it?

and talk about creation cannot find all those answers in in your book. Jamal, that is something I did not cover in its entirety. I mention evolution a couple di in a couple different places. And I do want to share a reference that I make to Ken Ham's book called The Lie. I footnote that in the book, and there was this guy in the 1970s.

And this is teaching me, and I grew up in a Lutheran day school. And believe it or not, they were teaching evolution in the 1970s in a Christian school. And this guy that Ken Ham refers to in his book. Taught that when the embryo was formed in a woman, when she became pregnant. It went through all these different stages of evolution trying to decide what it was going to be.

Now, If you didn't, if you're not as old as I am and you don't know what the 1970s were like, there was not the technology out there that we have today. And so, you know, as a. A very um Um A seventh grader who knew very little or anything about nothing. And man, I was it affected me something terrible.

So, but it was it was short-lived and and it he was debunked. But um So, evolution, I just briefly talk on that because the non-believer, the non-Christian, there's a lot of those folks out there that are relying on that type of explanation. And if you dive deep into that stuff, you can easily go through all the hang-ups with it. I. One of the things that the church doesn't do today is teach enough about Noah and the flood and the Tower of Babel, the scattering of people across the the globe.

Noah and the flood How much it had to do with creation and how we see creation today with things like the Grand Canyon. You know, they think that it took millions and billions of years to form the Grand Canyon when that's not necessarily the case because of the Great Flood. And also in the 70s, I believe it was 70s or early 80s, Mount St. Helen exploded. And once all that cooled down and settled down, they go in there to do their.

They're testing for, I can't recall what the testing's called, carbon dating. They're doing the carbon dating thing, and it looks like it's millions and billions of years that. That happened, but things happened. I believe things happen over a short period of time, not a long period of time. We saw that in western North Carolina just a couple of years ago with the hurricane that came through North Carolina, moving mountains, rivers were actually moved.

Very good. Cities destroyed. And so you can imagine. When it rains. For 40 days and 40 nights, and the water sits on the earth that long, and the receding water, and the power of water, and what it can do, forming the continents, forming our oceans, fault lines, both on the bottom of the ocean and in the United States today.

Um I don't go into all that necessarily, but I do talk about. Noah and the flood, Old Testament, the creation, Adam and Eve, obviously, Noah and I then I get into Abraham. I call it uh the chapter's called It starts with the first book.

Well, what is the first book? Genesis is the first book. We as Christians know that. And then also going into Exodus, Joseph, how he goes into slavery in Egypt, and then how he rises to power, brings his family from a drought into Egypt, and how the nation, the Jewish nation, grows. In Egypt and then the rise of Moses and then the Exodus into the promised land.

Okay, hold on, hold on. That is a whole lot of rabbits to chase after right there. I told you, this guy knows his stuff. He wrote a good book.

So we went from the flood, we went to Joseph. And also to go back to the flood and back to evolution, you mentioned in your book how. Um you said, Well I think it might have been. It wasn't Ken Ham that talked about this. It might have been Ken Ham.

But anyway. In your book, you mentioned about how Somebody mentioned the embryo, like you mentioned before. And how evolution is determining if this is going to be a fish or if it's going to be a human, and how it's going to have gills, maybe, maybe not have gills, and then it settles on being a human and having lungs and all that. That is mentioned in your book. And when I read that, I couldn't believe it.

I said, well, we never had. To my knowledge, a fish come out of a human. I don't think that's ever re been recorded anywhere.

So. To have evolution flip that coin, or to say evolution is flipping that coin, it doesn't make any sense to me. And also to follow up on your point about the flood. There is Scientific and geological evidence about a worldwide flood, not just a localized flood, but a worldwide flood. You mentioned how the hurricane moved mountains and all that.

Well, if this was erosion, That happened for millions of years, we wouldn't have the structures on Earth that we have right now.

So everything would be If I'm understanding this correctly, everything would be flat. We wouldn't have mountains because all that stuff would have eroded over time, over millions of years. This is what apologetics is. We can have science and Christianity meld together. They don't have to be mutually exclusive.

But when you know about how to defend your faith, which is apologetics, then you have a firmer foundation on defending your faith and knowing that your faith is true.

So to touch on another point, Jumper, we talked about a little bit about evolution. I want to talk about Jesus. Because some people say, all right, whatever, with your Bible and your geography, Jesus never existed, never was on the cross. What would you say about that, Jumper? Yes, so the chapter about the New Testament and Jesus is entitled, What About This Jesus?

I tried to make my Chapter titles interesting for the non-Christian, like what about this Jesus? Here's a Christian saying, What about this Jesus? That sounds pretty informal, but I go into The miracles that Jesus did, Again, talk about biblical principles in regards to we believe that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God and inspired Word of God. Um Spirit breathed. Yes, men wrote it, but spirit breathed, and it is from God Himself.

And so the The travels and the information in the book about Jesus. I share John chapter 9. It's one of my favorite Bible stories about the The blind man, the healing of the blind man, it had so many twists and turns in it. Um I talk about Jesus' disciples, his ministry. And then, obviously, his death and resurrection on the cross.

And so that goes right into my chapter in regards to the gospel, the good news for the world, and.

So, and then as I previously shared about Don't Cut the Grass on Sunday, I go into the backstory about the book. And so, try to cover all the bases on a very high level. I did realize that, wow, as I was writing it, this is a lot of information. Um For the non-Christian and my Christian friends who have read the book, they loved it because it was a nice review for them. Oh, just real quick.

Speaking of your friends, and don't forget your point, this is just something I want to. Throw out there some of the people that have endorsed their book. Have been Dr. Kent of Oviat from Carolina University, right here in Winston-Salem. Carla Long, your sister.

You know, to get your sibling to say, hey, you wrote a good book, that's a good feat right there. And let's see, a guy by the name of Boots Hubbard, Director of Missions. Because when you're going over there sharing the gospel to a whole other culture that's never heard about Jesus, you gotta have you gotta come strong with your theology and with your content. And this guy who's a director of missions, he says this is a good book. But there's also got a name by the a guy by the name of Stu Efferson.

Author of The Last Words of Jesus. You know, so he's a book writer himself and also president of Truth Network. He also has endorsed your book.

So when you mention the friends and Christians and non-Christians, some of your friends have said this is a good book to pick up. Guys, that's music. We ran out of show before we ran out of content, as Dr. Dillmore, sorry, Robbie Dillmore would say. Don't cut the grass on Sunday.
