This is the Truth Network. Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right, let's talk the truth news. I can't hide it. Back in.

A daily program powered by the Truth Network. This is kind of a great thing, and I'll tell you what. Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together. Speak your mind. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host.

That's right. Let's talk. Who's here? The Russian Nightmare, Nikita Kolov.

Now the Devil's Nightmare. What's the Russian Nightmare?

Now the Devil's Nightmare, a host of It's Time to Man Up. And QA with Koloff. And I am joined. I am blessed to be joined in the studio today with me, Dr. Dwayne Carson, welcome.

I'm looking forward to tag teaming with you today. We are tag team partners today. Tag teaming with the doctor. The doctor's in the house. And ho, ho, ho.

We are two weeks away, Doc. From what I consider, I don't know, I'm going to get your take on this. To be the great, you know, we celebrate a lot of things, right? Fourth of July, we just had Thanksgiving just recently, a great time to get together with family and reflect on all the things we're thankful for. Of course, we have Easter, which is a pretty massive celebration, the resurrection and ascension of Jesus.

But coming up two weeks from today, can you believe it? I'm like, where did the year go? Right? Is Christmas. And so I I've just kind of named the show today Christmas with Koloff uh and and and Dr.

Dwayne Carson. How about this? Christmas with Koloff and Carson. There we go. There we go.

Tag Team Partners. It's got a ring to it, man. And it's great to have you. Great to have you in the house. And of course, if you're not familiar with Dr.

Carson, man, he is the man of the word, the man who developed Date the Word. And we just dedicated a whole entire show to talking about his vision for that. You were very kind to let me do that.

Well, I'm excited for that. People, that'll air after the first of the year. But between now and two weeks from now, it's Christmas time. And We're going to talk about that today. I'm going to throw a few questions at the doc.

He's got some things to throw back my way that's going to make you laugh because it's already been making me laugh. But let me do this because if you catch the Russian nightmare on True Talk Live, then you know I also like Bible trivia.

So before we dive into Christmas and some of the conversations centering around Christmas, here's the first trivia question. Of course, you know, you call in, you get the answer correct. You get a free 8x10 autograph picture of the Russian Nightmare. You don't have to be a wrestling fan. It can be for one of your loved ones who maybe is a wrestling fan, Doc.

And we'll throw in a date-the-word calendar for 2026. Hey, wow, hey, bonus. There's your first Christmas present right there. First and second, an autograph photo from the Russian Nightmare and from Dr. Carson, a 2026 date-the-word calendar.

What's it like?

So it's like a wall calendar, right? Wall calendar and it's got a scripture for every day. Yes, and it has the scripture you can see. Because some people just put the verse and you have to look it up. No, I put it right there so every day you'll see what the verse for the date is.

So they do or don't have to look it up? They don't have to look it up. It's right there. Just look at the calendar. Look at the calendar.

All right. All right. First trivia question before we dive into our Christmas discussion. All right. I think this one's fairly easy, Doc.

We'll see if somebody calls in and can win. Where was Paul when he wrote the book of Colossians? Where was Paul? The Apostle Paul, when he wrote the book of Colossians, was it? Or was he in the temple?

In the desert In prison or on a ship. Give us a call at 866-348-7884. That's 866-34TRUTH. And hey, let's give an 8x10 away in a calendar right here at the onset of the show.

So where was Paul when he wrote the book of Colossians? In the temple? In the desert, in prison, or on a ship? Let me hear from you so we can get you, get out a picture for you. All right, Doc.

So Christmas time. We're just, you know, it's just that time of year, right? And a lot of people get excited about Christmas. I think it's personally, I think it's one of the. The best holidays.

What's your favorite holiday? Out of curiosity, is it Christmas or is there another one that's your favorite? It's hard not to get excited about Christmas. There's just something about First off, the component that Christ came to the earth stands out because. Uh we talk about there was a man that walked on the moon.

Well, God walked on earth. And walked on water, too. Yes. And and I I still have a hard time wrapping my head around how He left heaven's glory to come down to earth's Mess. Why would he do that?

Yeah. And so we have a lot of joy to think about, a lot of hope to think about, a lot of love to think about when it comes to Christmas. I love Thanksgiving because it's really a biblical holiday to pause and give thanks. Easter, what a celebration because he conquered. I mean, we talk about a victory celebration when somebody wins a football game, national championship, Super Bowl, the World Series.

The greatest victory ever took place at Easter when Jesus conquered the great. Conquered death, right? But yeah, I love Christmas. Of course, we were just in, you and I were just in Israel a week ago. In fact, you did more Two Talk Lives from Israel, from Jerusalem than I did.

But we've dedicated some entire shows, the Manup show to that. You and Robbie Dilmore, myself. We tag teamed on a show. We did some individual shows. Looks like, Doc, we might have an answer to our question here.

Tim up in Ohio may have an answer to our question. Tim, are you there? I'm here. How are you, Tim? What part of Ohio are you in?

This is actually kind of northwest. I don't know if you know where Marysville is. It's just a About twenty minutes northwest of Marysville. That's excellent. Come on.

Yeah. Oh, high oh. Come on. I owe.

Well, Tim, so you got an answer for our trivia question here? Yeah, I'm pretty sure Paul was locked up doing a hard time when he wrote to the Colossians.

Well, boom, boom, boom, Tim. You are correct. You are correct. The address on that, because sometimes I'm like, well, what was the scripture reference?

Now, the man sitting across from me probably knows because he knows just about every scripture in the Bible because he dates the word. But just in case our listeners, do you know, Tim or no? No, I'm not exactly sure on that part of it. Colossians 4-3. Colossians 4-3.

So April 3rd, Doc. April 3rd, right? Colossians 4-3. And now, Tim, did you watch wrestling at all in your younger days, or are you just called in to answer the question? Yeah, I did when I was younger, yes.

I'm uh I'm uh getting close to sixty, but uh yes, I sure did, Nikita. I remember. All right, so 'cause it's always fun to run into people and go, Man, you know, this was this your match against the Road Warriors was my favorite or Ric Flair or just, you know, whoever, right?

So did you ever go to any live matches or was it just all on television? I took my kids to one one time, but that was the early 90s.

So that was a little bit after that.

Okay.

Well, that would have been part of my era.

So, well, Tim, hey, out of curiosity, Tim, favorite memory of Christmas? A favorite memory or a favorite song or a favorite movie for Christmas? Um, a favorite memory is uh going to the relatives' house. I used to love uh looking at the electric train set that my grandpa had set up and then uh he's passed that down and went to my dad and then it went to me.

So, yeah, the old lionel train set. Do you set it up every year? Yeah. Oh, wow. Very cool.

Well, that's awesome.

Well, thanks for calling in, Tim. You hang tight where our uh Nick, our producer, get get your address and let him know if you want it personalized to somebody and we'll get a we'll get an eight by ten sent out to you, okay? Hey, sounds good. Thank you. All right, God bless you.

Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas. Thanks. Same to you guys, Jeff. Ho, ho, ho.

Truth Talk Live You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. All right, all right, all right. We're back. Truth Talk Live, Nikita Koloff, your host, along with co-host, along with Dr. Dwayne Carson.

Date the word. We're back, Doc. Hey, Doc, what so so, Tim stirred something inside you with those Lionel trains. Yeah, what's all that about?

Well, I got one when I was a kid, and oh, what a great Christmas that was. And had it set up in my room, and then later on, My mother-in-law. Surprised me one Christmas with another Lionel train set so I could have it in our new home. And so I got to go set mine up. I just started really dreaming about: hey, how much fun is a train?

And when my grandson comes, I want him to be able to play with the train. Come on. And we're looking up on the break. Look, you know, Tim, Tim spurred all this on. Thank you, Tim.

The good doctor found a there's a Lionel train store in Concord Mills down in Concord, North Carolina, just down the road from us. We're up here in Winston-Salem. But we're talking about Christmas, Christmas with Koloff and Carson. Christmas with Koloff and Carson. And let me throw another trivia question out there since Tim was so quick to call in.

And by the way, if you have a favorite Christmas memory, A favorite Christmas song or a favorite Christmas movie, we want you to call in as well today: 866-348-7884-86634 TRUTH.

So give us a call. Favorite Christmas movie? Favorite Christmas song? Favorite Christmas memory? Give us a call.

All right, our second trivia question, a little bit tougher question, but I think someone out there is. Smart enough to ock to be able to get. I know you are, but besides you, which is the only book in the Bible. that begins with a blessing on all who read, Here and keep the words written. in the book.

Here are your choices. The book of Jude. Isaiah or Isaiah Daniel? or the book of Revelation. which is the only book of the Bible That begins with a blessing on all who read?

hear and keep The words written in this book. Give us a call, 866-348-7884-86634 TRUTH. Or call us with your favorite memory, your favorite movie, your favorite song.

So, Doc, let me ask you, okay. What what uh let's just start with uh your favorite Christmas movie. What was your favorite Christmas movie? I I think uh There came that time where I finally was able to watch the entire It's a Wonderful Life. 'Cause for a while there it was just I guess my attention span was not very long.

And it's a long movie. Yeah. But there came a day when I was able to sit down and watch it, and all of a sudden it hit me. Wow. I even put together sermons about how to have a wonderful life based on that movie and really grasping the concept of how to take a good look at your life.

You got to be so careful how you evaluate your life. Because if you start evaluating it based on things and people and possessions, You're going to come up short every time.

So It's a Wonderful Life would be kind of like your number one Christmas movie. And for those who've never watched it, I encourage you to go watch it. I try to watch it every year as well. And without giving it all away, it's about a man who thinks his life doesn't make a difference, right, Doc? But there's something that happens in the movie where he sees how, had he not been born, how different life would have been for that community without giving it all away.

I'm telling you, you go watch that. You know, for me, I mean, I've got, certainly that ranks right up there at the top. But I've got some other miracle on 34th Street. It's just, I mean, that one. And then the Charlie Brown Christmas.

Come on. Yes. Yes. When Linus drops the blanket. Preaches.

He preaches the blanket. And preaches. Come on. Linus preaches, man. He drops the blanket.

He preaches. How about Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman? Yeah. Come on. I mean, we've got.

TV shows you got to watch. We've got some shows, some movies you got to watch. If I jog some memories there, or you're not familiar with some of you listeners, aren't familiar. Looks like Matthew up in Toledo, Ohio. Ohio is on fire today.

Matthew. Are you there? Yes, sir. How are you doing today? I'm doing well, Matthew.

That's a good biblical name you got there, by the way. Sure is. Yes, my middle name is David, so it's a double win. Oh, wow. You got the New Testament and the Old Testament.

You got a double blessing there, Matthew. God bless your parents. Come on. Amen. What part of Ohio are you in?

What part of Ohio? Way northwest.

So I actually live in Michigan, but I work in Toledo, Ohio, which is. Yeah. Okay.

Northwest. Yeah, just a good thing I didn't say OH then. Am I Ann Arbor? Come on. No, gross.

No, I'm still Ohio all the way. Oh, okay. Go buck. Go bucks. Come on.

They took one on the chin, but hey, they're a great team.

So, one of my wrestling buddies' sons. They can leave that one and then they'll get the rest of them, though. That's right. That's right. You got to have a little taste of humility there, right?

And one of my wrestling buddies' sons was a standout linebacker for Ohio over the years. He's now on the coaching staff, James Laurenitis. And that was Road Warrior. He's a phenomenal linebacker. Yeah, incredible, right?

And Road Warrior animal. He's a man of God, too, right? He loves the Lord. He loves the Lord. There's a whole story there we don't have time for today, but at age 14, he went to an altar and surrendered his life to Christ.

And it was the real deal. And he's the real deal.

So, all right. Yeah, absolutely.

So you got an answer to our trivia question. Revelation Come on, boom. Do you know the address just out of curiosity? You don't have to, but. I don't know that, but I do know that I think it says it in two or three places, right, that it's a blessing that We're eating Revelation as a blessing.

Yep. And part of the hint is filming.

Well, the good doctor across from me, he knows, but part of the hint is that begins, which book begins with, so we know it's somewhere at the beginning, right?

Well, Doc across the way here is holding up one and three.

So Revelation 1:3, it talks about the book of Revelation being a blessing. Hey, do you want to be blessed? Then read hear and keep. The words written in the book. Hey, well, I got you, Matthew.

Just real quick. Favorite Christmas movie? Hello. Yeah. White Christmas or Elf?

There you go. Elf is great. White Christmas, that's the classy. You got to watch White Christmas. That's awesome.

That is amazing.

So, well, listen, hang tight and make sure our producer Nick gets your address. And if you want that 8x10 personalized to somebody, just let him know, okay? I appreciate it. Merry Christmas to you, gentlemen. All right.

Merry Christmas to you, Matthew. God bless you, sir. Thank you. All right. We're back here.

Wow. We're racking up the Christmas gifts here. The calendar. Yes. Yeah, I forgot, Matthew.

You're also going to get a calendar from a date the word calendar from Dr. Carson here as well. I forgot to mention that.

So that's a little bonus Christmas present there for you. And we're talking about Christmas and all the wonderful memories, the Lionel Trains, movies. How about a favorite, Doc, a favorite Christmas song? Hark, the herald angels sing. Why is that one special to you?

Well, uh when Charles Wesley wrote that, he he he God and man reconciled. That's Christmas. If Jesus doesn't come, how do we get reconciled back to God? I mean, we have to get. serious about what this season is about.

We are enemies of God, aliens away from God. We are sinners and as it was preached by Jonathan Edwards, we are sinners in the hands of an angry God. But Jesus came so that we can be reconciled, to be brought back together. And so I just love that song. I just love when they get to that part.

They sing it in the Charlie Brown Christmas movie. And um Awesome. When we come back, I'll share with you my Christmas, my favorite Christmas songs, and we'll have another trivia question, see if we can get at least one more winner. Send out a Christmas gift of a calendar and 8x10 autograph photo. Don't go away.

Stay tuned. We'll be right back. True Talk Live, Nikita Cole Off, Dr. Dwayne Carson. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com.

All right, well, we are back, we're back, we're back to talk live here. McKinnon call off Dr. Carson, Dr. Dwayne Carson. Um so Doc, we're talking about of course we're talking about Christmas and um Favorite songs, favorite songs.

I got to hear what yours is.

Well, you know what? I'm looking at my list here, and I'm trying to figure out if I can narrow it down to one. What are your favorite 25 Christmas songs? I'm going to rattle them off here and see if one of these maybe is also might be up there with one of yours.

So, White Christmas, speaking of white Christmas, Oh Holy Night. That's it. First song ever played on a radio. Really? Yeah.

Come on. There's some trivia for you right there. Oh, Holy Night. Mary, did you know? Mark Lowry.

Come on. Silver Bells. Silver bell. Right, okay. City is ringing.

How about Carol of the Bells? Oh, yes. Another good one, right? Joy to the World. What about Little Drummer Boy?

You know what my favorite group that does the Little Drummer Boy? King and Country. Oh, yes. Have you ever seen their rendition of that? Yes, yes.

Oh, and I just love drums and stuff. Man, those guys are so good, right? The smallbone family. Talent is all on display. Talented, right?

And then, how can he not mention Silent Knight? A silent night. And if the song hadn't been written, it would have been a silent night at that church. Come on now. Come on now.

Which which remind so what were you sharing with me before we even came on air? Come on. Well, with my family, when it comes to singing, they'll say, Dad, we know all about silent night. We want a silent dad. When it comes to singing, you have got to be silent dad.

And you threw a couple other singers at me, too.

Well, yet Easterly always won want me to sing on a hill far away. Yeah. Oh my gosh, Doc. I didn't know you had such a sense of humor here, Doc.

Well, yeah, anyway, because I can't sing at all. I tell people I could carry a tune in a paper sack. I could carry a tune there. I sing well in the shower. Although, some said I sang good at in Jerusalem.

Yeah. There was a lot of great people singing, so they could drown us out. Exactly, exactly. We sang, we are standing on holy ground in the holy city, right? Yeah.

In the holy city. All right, trivia question. One more trivia question before, you know, before we run out of time here. I'm going to see if I can give one more 8x10 and a date-the-word 2026 calendar away. I was going to say happy birthday, Merry Christmas.

Which of the four gospels is longest in length? Based On the number of words, well, the man across from me probably knows like he's a walking encyclopedia over here.

Okay, but for those of you on that, might stump me. Oh, which of the four gospels? I stump men. If I'm on record of stumping Dr. Carson, I've done something.

Which of the four gospels is longest in length based on the number of words? Is it Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John? Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John? Give us a call at 866-348-7884-866-34 Truth. Hey, let us know what your favorite Christmas song is, or Christmas movie, or Christmas movie.

Memory, give us a call. And so we're talking about Christmas, we're talking about Christmas songs, talking about Christmas movies. What about the history of Christmas, Doc? The history of Christmas, like like Well, you know, as far as um well, you you know, it really wasn't. that big of a deal.

Until, um you get a book written called a Christmas Carol, Charles Dickens. 1800s? Yeah, 1843. And that's when you get your first Christmas card. Um he really brought about a new thinking when it comes to Christmas.

And um Now, you're going to get 'Twas a Night Before Christmas by that guy named Moore. That threw some things in when he wrote that story for his kids, and it finally got published. But really, it was Charles Dickens that we now celebrate. Kind of put it on the map, so to speak. And speaking of Christmas cards, you gave me a Christmas card today with verses for 25 days until Christmas, starting with Psalm 27.1 for the first of December.

All the way up to Matthew 1:25 for the 25th of December, Doc. That's pretty cool. Man, this man knows his word and has really put it together. I'm going to tell you what. And based on what you just said, yeah, it's really only about the last 200 or so years that Christmas has really been celebrated by Christians and Jesus followers into the 1800s, as you made reference to.

There was a lady by the name Queen Victoria. Let put up a Christmas tree their Buckingham Palace. And that really started that movement that everybody would then be having Christmas trees.

Now, Martin Luther had a Christmas tree. They hung that upside down. Interestingly, how they did that in those days.

Well, that's it is interesting.

Now I don't know, maybe maybe you've you've already known this, but in in some of my research in history on on Christmas and the celebration of it was largely prior to the Dickens. Novel and that coming out. It was actually, it said it was more of a pagan celebration. Right. And it was set aside for ready?

Drunkenness and rioting in the streets. People would set aside a week of self-indulgence to celebrate winter solstice. And strangely, many Christians loathed the holiday, considered it just an instrument of sin and evil. And there are still some out there, you know, and just out of respect that just don't celebrate holidays, including Christmas, right? Yeah.

And what I had to do as I looked at all of this. Um trying to be as biblical as possible. I don't have anything that tells me I'm supposed to celebrate Christmas. Yeah. Okay.

So I want to redeem it. And um one of my early questions of myself was how will my Christmas look different from someone who's not a Christian. Hmm. And so It is a time of reflection. We have the Advent days, and we think about hope and love and joy.

I I I want to read scriptures. Biblical characters are phenomenal examples for us from that Christmas story. Mary was available. What an example to every one of us. Are we available to God?

Uh we talked about Ohio, right? OH IO.

So I look at a guy named Joseph. Every time God spoke to him, he said. He didn't just obey, he immediately obeyed.

So when I was pastor in Ohio, I would say to those guys, when you say OH, I'm saying immediately obey. IO, immediately obey. Joseph never said a word. He just went and did what God called him to do.

Well, it's easy, right? I say easy to get caught up in all the Christmas hype, right? Yeah. You know, the Christmas parties, the, the, you know, the office parties, and even the gatherings together of family and the unwrapping of presents, right? And, you know, just everything that centers around that, you know, going to the driving through the Christmas light show and just all the different things.

And I've tried over the years for my family, my children, and now my grandchildren to emphasize, as we've heard many times, the real reason for the season, right? Which is the celebration of the birth of Jesus. And, you know, on that note, you're talking about. As far as his birth, in my research, December 21st is widely considered by biblical scholars not to be the actual day of Jesus' birth. They believe that actually may have taken place, believe it or not, in the spring.

Toward the spring. Yeah, more time. Because the shepherds would have been out in the fields with their sheep toward wintertime. That would not have been the case. And going back to the drunkenness and all of that, many believe that December, the December date, was set aside to counteract just some of the ancient wild festivals that held around the world during that winter solstice.

And so, you know, just trying to give an alternative, if you will. Right? Give an alternative. Hey, still looking for that caller for that third autograph photo and the date-to-word calendar. Which of the four gospels?

It's taking some time for them to count every word in Matthew and then. Every word in Mark, every word in Luke, and every word in John. Yeah, you probably might have a point there, okay? You didn't say the chapters. That was in Matthew.

Right. You didn't say the. How many passages? I said words, actual words, right? Which of the four gospels is the longest in length based on the number of words?

Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John, give us a call at 866-7884-86634-TRUTH. And we'll get you an autographed photo if you get that right.

So let me ask you a question.

Okay, okay. When you read the Christmas story, do you read Matthew 1? and read that genealogy. No. That's a short answer.

He says no. Short answer, no. When I was at the Crystal Bible College, just getting started back in nineteen eighty two, Uh a professor said, We're going to train you so well, you will preach the genealogy in Matthew 1. Not just read it, preach it. Oh, the Lord have mercy.

And you know, they did. And one of my favorite messages to do every year when given the opportunity is to teach through the genealogy.

Well, bless you, Doc. Bless you. Because there's some great characters in there, and there's some really bait characters in there, which tells us that Jesus had some real characters in his family tree. Don't you? No doubt.

Oh, everybody's. I've got an Uncle Joe. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I've got an Uncle Joe.

Hey, 8663487884-86634. Truth. If you have a favorite Christmas memory. Or a movie or a song. I'd love to hear it.

Love to have you call in and let us know what that is. Or the answer to our last trivia question: the longest book of the Bible or the longest book of the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John. Hey, Doc, did you know December originally considered to be cold and dark, both physically and spiritually? It was another reason why they thought, well, you know, celebrating a season of joy and peace in December might bring a little light and hope into a very dark and cold period of the year as well. Interesting, right?

Yeah, because when we hit winter. Really It's now the beginning, going to the spring, it's the beginning of days getting longer. The shortest day of the year, likewise, is. Winter, so you start looking for the light. And that's why this year our Christmas card was based on Jesus being the light.

And there's just something about The light, being able to see, to enjoy. Absolutely. All right, well, we got one more trivia question. Hopefully, we'll get a caller to give us the answer to it. And we're still looking if you feel.

Because I'm not sure if I know what it is. Come on, feel free to call in, share your favorite movie, favorite memory, favorite song, Christmas song, 866-348-7884. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. All right, we're back to talk live. Nikita Koloff, Dr.

Dwayne Carson, and Roberts. Down in Mint Hill has a Christmas memory. that he'd like to share. Robert, what do you got, you there? Yes, sir.

I'm here. How are y'all doing today? We're doing well. Merry Christmas to you, Roberts. Merry Christmas to y'all and Memory is a it's a good memory and a bad memory at the same time.

Okay.

In My dad was supposed to go into the open heart surgery and he said told Dr. Robacek. He said, no, I'm not going to do it. Not this time of year.

Okay.

If it's going to be my last Christmas, I'm going to spend it with my family.

So that's what he did. And there in January, he went into notice. December thirtieth, he went into the surgery, I mean that surgery went to the hospital. Then January 3rd, He started open heart surgery, which that was his birthday and wedding anniversary at the same time. Oh, wow.

Okay.

Yes, sir. Dr. Rebel Check did all he could. And he didn't survive. Mm.

Wow. So 99 shows a good call on your dad's part to not have it. Pre-Christmas, so you could have that Christmas with your fam you and the family in 1994. Right. This time of year it always gets me down.

Yeah. Well, I you know, I no, I can only I can only imagine. I have not not been there to experience that, but maybe doctor Carson has something here to lift your spirits for that situation.

Well the only thing I know is I'll see him another di another time. You'll see him again. When I pass. Come on. Come on.

That's it. Pre you know, and and while it's always tough, the painful longings are also precious memories. And um Each Christmas, we take time to remember those that really had an impact on our lives. And that's one of the things that does make having these kind of moments where you do uh Go back and take a time, think about, I can still remember my mom. COOKING THE CHRISTMAS HAM There's just something about the house and the way it smelt when she cooked that Christmas ham.

And those are they it's painful, but it's also precious. It is. It is. And it's, like I said, it always gets me down.

Well, Robert, I'm going to encourage you. And again, I want to be sympathetic while at the same time encourage you to focus on the fact that you got to spend that Christmas with him in 1994. That he didn't pass sooner than that. And, you know, even though he passed on a few days later, a week or so later. And.

And focus on the fact that you just said. I get to see him again one day.

So try your best to focus on those positive things, okay?

So I'll I'll try and it like I said, it's This time of year, I'm always in this position. I know, but Robert, our words matter.

So, the words that come out of your mouth, if you keep saying, I get down, I get down, I get down, I get down, that's where you're going to land. I'm going to encourage you, as much as I hear your heart, but I just want to encourage you. And I'm just going to encourage you: don't focus on the getting down. Focus on the reason for the season and the fact you're going to get to see your dad again one day, okay? Oh, yeah.

I know that it's like I said, it's appreciating it's. It's uh it's all about Jesus and That's right. And his sacrifice, what he did for us. That's right. Lord, I just thank you that you just encourage Robert to focus his gaze and eyes on you and just center his thoughts.

And one day he gets to see his dad again. In Jesus' name, amen. Robert, thank you for calling in. Thank you. Thank you.

God bless you down there in Mint Hill. Thank you, Robert. All right. Thank you. Yes, sir.

Have a great day and great Christmas. Thank you, Mary. Come on for New Year's. Thank you. You as well.

Come on now. All right. Thank you. All right. And so we've got that trivia question hanging out there.

The longest book of the gospels, according to the number of words. Waiting to see if anyone else wants to win that. I'm surprised no one has Googled that.

Well, don't tell them that, Doc. Don't tell them.

Somebody's sitting there counting right now. That's right. That's right. Well, hey, it'll take them all night to count all those words. I know.

They'll have to. To call in in two weeks for the Christmas show. All right, Doc, here's another piece of trivia for you. Did you know? This is a did you know?

You probably do know, but did you know that in 1822, a minister and educator named Clement Clark Moore? Yes. You know that name, I bet, don't you? Just an educated man sitting across from me here. I'm so impressed.

Wrote a poem called, any idea what the poem was called? Twas the night before Christmas, but I think it had a different title. That did. Look at how smart this guy is. It did.

It was called A Visit from St. Nicholas. A visit from St. Nicholas. That became known as the famed Twas the Night Before Christmas that would dramatically change the Americans' view of Christmas.

Do you know every year. for as as from all the way back every year. And now that all four of my children are married and have families of their own, but one of my daughters says, every year I look forward to the voicemail.

So no matter where I'm at, I'll call each of my four daughters' phones. And in the limited time I have, try to squeeze in towards the night before Christmas and leave that on Christmas Eve. On their voicemail. There you go. Every single day.

That's one of my traditions. Report of air tradition is my wife reads it every year, basically by memory.

Well, I can't do that, but my 43-year-old says that's the best day of the year for her is to hit the play button and listen to that. I think we got an answer. Here we go. We're going back up to Ohio again. Jonathan in Ohio.

Jonathan, are you there? Uh yeah, I'm there. Can you hear me? I can, I can. Where in Ohio are you?

Uh I'm in um uh Greenville, Ohio. In Greenville, where is that? In proximity to like Columbus or Cleveland, where are you at? That's uh in Dart County. It's uh I'd say about I think like two hours away from Columbus, I think, in the West Fort Worth.

Gotcha. All right, I gotcha.

Well, uh, before we run out of time here, you you got an answer to our trivia question, Jonathan? Uh I was um this is bas this is mainly just a guess, but I was thinking it might have been John. It's not John, but it's a good guess. That's true. It's an excellent guess, but it's not.

I guess you had a 25% chance of getting it right, right? Because there's only four gospels.

So it's not John, but I'll tell you what we'll do as a consolation, okay? You hang on for my producer, get your name and address, and we're going to send you a date-the-word calendar as a Christmas gift for you, okay?

Okay, thank you. I really appreciate that. All right. Well, God bless you. 13 years old.

Thank you, Jonathan, for calling in. Yes, thank you. You're awesome. You're welcome. All right.

I've been watching all the time, and I really appreciate your show. Oh, thank you.

Well, God bless you, young man. Appreciate you. All right, have a great Christmas. All right. Well, Doc, we're almost out of time, believe it or not.

I don't know if we're going to get an answer to that trivia question. I guess before we go off air, I'll give you.

Now it's down to three. It's down to three. It's either Matthew, Mark, or Luke.

So now you've got a 33% chance of getting the answer right. Come on, 866-348-7884. I'd love to give one more. 8x10 photo away. Any other, so you know, you mentioned Charles Dickens, 1843.

Yeah. Charles Dickens, when he wrote A Christmas Carol. And, you know, that movie, that play, I do think. You know, while I I love it's a wonderful life. Uh I will say this until I've watched a Christmas carol It isn't Christmas.

Well, so let me get this in before we go.

So, during the Dickens' time, people worked 12 hours a day, six days a week, just to get ahead. Children were put into the work factories at age eight or nine. That's right. Okay, a Christmas carol made people revisit their values for what was truly important. During the Industrial Revolution as well.

And so much more history to Christmas. But, Doc, before we go, I mean, we just literally got. A couple minutes, but go ahead and tell everybody out there the real reason for the season, especially maybe they don't, maybe they're listening today, but they don't know, have a relationship with Jesus. Yeah, the verse of verse is Luke 2: for unto you this day is born in the city of David a Savior who is Christ the Lord. Um If our greatest need had been money, God had sent us an economist.

If our greatest need had been entertainment, if our greatest need had been technology, all these different things, God could have sent us. But our greatest need, our greatest need was a Savior. We were sinners bound for hell. And we needed someone who would come. To die for us.

And you can't talk about Christmas without talking about. Um We call it Good Friday. Because He did something good for us. But you can't talk about Christmas without thinking about he was born to die. And he died for you.

Friends, listen to me. Jesus Christ died for you, rose again. And today, if you'll call on him, you can have eternal life. That's the reason for the season.

So, thank you, Doc. And if you hadn't yet to make that decision, man, what a memory of Christmas you would have. The free gift of salvation. Ephesians 2, 8, and 9, right? A free gift.

And so let me give you the trivia since nobody guessed it. Just so you know, it is the book of Luke. Ah, it would have been right.

Okay.

It is. Well, you emphasize that, Daniel, like Luke.

So it was the book of Luke. It was 24 chapters. Come on. Jesus 28, but it's more words. More words.

And last but not least, another bit of trivia for you out there. Christmas was officially established in the US of A. I don't know if you know this, Doc. Do you know what year? I'm not going to ask you what month.

June 26th. 1870. 1870. 1870. Thanks for tuning in.
