Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right, let's talk the truth news. I can't hide it. I can hold it in somewhere. A daily program powered by the Truth Network.
This is kind of a great thing, and I'll tell you what. Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together. Seek your mind. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host. Welcome to Truth Talk Live.
This is Russ East. I'll be sitting in today for Stu Epperson. I am so glad that you're with us because we have a special guest. Her name is Christy Darlington. She is The president of a ministry that, well, let her tell all about it.
Christy, thank you for being on Truth Talk Live today.
Well, thank you. This is such an honor and a privilege to be here and to be able to share what the Lord has put on my heart and some of the resources that our ministry Mostly me, but I have a few volunteers as well, have developed to help people reach people. In the Colts. Absolutely, absolutely. That's okay, that's okay.
You know, witnesses for Jesus.com is that the website for the ministry that you have, Christy? It's actually dot org, but The easiest thing making Google witnesses for Witnesses for Jesus, we have a lot of websites that will come up under that. The main one I'm going to give for people to check out Is the number four witness, W I T N E S S. Dot or g That's the number forty, not spelled out. And that's easy to just type in.
But if they Google Witnesses for Jesus, they'll find a lot of things that we've developed. And we also have a web YouTube channel too. People might love that. That's our evangelism on the streets and all kinds of other tips on witnessing.
So it's wit WIT, short for witnesses, so wit WIT For F-O-R-J-E-S-U-S, just put that into the YouTube search, and we should pop up there as well.
So that's a good place to find us.
Well, today is Monday, and so we call it Missions Monday.
So we thought it would make sense to give you a call and just have you share a little bit about What the Lord's been doing through your ministry. You've been on the Truth Network for a number of years. With your your uh m your programs and and just uh the the the book that you've written called Misguided by Mormonism. Uh do you want to share a little bit about that? Book, and it's been out in Argentina.
We've been selling books to help the Christians reach the Mormons in love and to reach them for Christ. Tell us about that. Yes, you know, this all started out with a program that was on your station, in fact, with a former Mormon bishop. We had done, oh, several hour call-in programs. And, you know, there are a lot of complications that happened towards the end there because he got himself into another group that was deceiving him.
So we couldn't keep him on the air. But the cool thing that happened in all that time, I was the editor for his program with you guys, working through all of the details there. And he and I went back and forth on some of the best strategies that he found helpful with people coming out of Mormonism. Having been a bishop himself, he was able to provide quite a good amount of insight that helped me. I knew a lot of facts about Mormonism.
I've read every book. I don't know about every book, but you know, the the good old, you know, Ed Decker, you know, books and then Ron Rhodes and and CRI and all the materials back going back to the ninety five when my cousin became involved. in the LDS church.
So I was passionate about reaching Mormons and I knew the standard apologetics. But there were some things that this bishop was doing on his calls. That was new to me. I hadn't seen it in any book. He was taking the latest statements that the church came out with in their gospel topic essays.
And he was using that as Content to show what the Mormon Church now admits about their history, and then going back to how this is not biblical, these ideas, these doctrines that they're teaching, and the historical background as well. I mean, Joseph Smith's polygamy, we all know about that because of those church essays and all the things that's come out now on the internet, too, with people having Expose that. And not just polygamy. I mean, there's a lot of Love things when you get into Mormon history. But the amazing thing, you know, he really opened my eyes to a new angle towards reaching lost.
folks in the LDS Church, and that is to take their current literature And don't just take what the prophet said, you know, and teachings of the prophet Joseph Smith or journal discourses. But go back to what is the church saying? How is it interpreting these things? And when you can present it from something that's officially on the church website and use that as your background or backing for your point, it's far more effective. And it also opens up more conversations.
Because the LDS person you're talking to now understands that you're not just reading some anti-Mormon literature. You're taking their faith seriously enough to read their sight and really try to understand their position. And so I've had an amazing opportunity to witness. By taking this approach, we're on the streets every general conference. Me and my volunteers, we're all volunteers, go out there and we do what's called the friendly anti-Mormon table.
People come by, they chat with us. And it's just amazing. In the last couple of years, I've had several encounters with the same group of of Mormons that come by and they chat and we get on video now. They at first they're we're not sure about it, but now they're like, Oh yeah, let's go film this, let's talk about this and we'll pick a topic each time we get together. And it's just It's amazing, and those are on our YouTube channel, that's why I wanted to share that.
And our pastor, it's a pastor friend I've been in touch with for 15 years down in Argentina. He's used our Spanish materials. And you remember Joe Kramer with Living Hope, who now is in Israel with Expedition Bible? He did a whole series. You know, Bible versus Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith's you know, all of that, he put those into Spanish.
And he gave us full permission to send that to our pastor.
So now we're linked, we started out with CDs and DVDs. when I was able to ship. Argentina. And for years he's been passing those out, but now the youth post office won't let me ship materials into Argentina.
So the latest method that we're using is to take those videos that Joe Kramer's put in Spanish, put them up on the web. on the internet, on YouTube, and we're embedding those into our Spanish version of our formormon.org site. Again, for windows.org. Is the main site for Christians trying to find our resources? I handle both cults.
Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons. And so I have a site specifically designated to the Jehovah's Witness viewpoints. And on the Mormon side, it's really, again, the site is Is encourage LDS to look at this material.
So that's why I have four Mormon, four Jehovah, and of course the four witnesses, our main site that links to both. if that kind of makes sense. The number that you can call if you're listening in Ohio, you're listening. North Carolina, you're listening in Virginia, you're listening in Utah. Please call us if any questions you might have for Christy is 866-2566.
Three four eight. 7884, that's 866. three four eight seventy eight eighty four, and we'll take your call. I I appreciate the the the work, the dedication that you've put into reaching Souls for Christ. Uh what what can you tell us about this support group That you were telling me about just the other day.
You've created like a support for. People. Yeah, you know, there are so many ways God's opening up doors.
So, my story, you know, I. I started Working a job with the Navigators of Christian Ministry, helping disciple people, coming, you know, just wanting to know the Bible and how to. You know, how to extract the meaning out of the text rather than just reading Bible study books about it. And so in the Navigator Ministry started by Dawson Trotman back in the 1950s, my parents met through that ministry, used to host Bible studies at their house when I was a little, you know, young girl. I grew up around just taking the Bible verse by verse and reading it and getting those lexicon aids and whatever to understand what it means.
And so I grew up with that and then I worked at the Navigators for 10 years in the fundraising department, believe it or not, before I started my ministry.
So I learned a lot about running a 501c3 nonprofit through working at the Navigators, plus my background with my parents growing up in that. My dad also disciples people out of anything. Like it doesn't matter what religion you've been through. He's done like a discipleship class at his church for many years. And he built a Bible study just to help Brand new believers understand the Bible using a lot of the same ideas and concepts that You know, he and I I grew up too 'cause I grew up in in the Navigators, but he and mom, you know, you used to use the navigators materials To train new believers.
So he put his Bible study up. Christy, hold that thought. Hold that thought. We're going to come right back. Christy, hold that thought.
We have a break. Stay with us, and we'll be back just after a few. messages You're listening to Truth Talk Live here on the Truth Radio Network. Stay tuned, we'll be right back with Christy Darlington. Truth Talk Live.
Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. This is Russ East. your host for today's mission's uh Monday mission episode of Truth Talk Live.
So We are talking with Christy Darlington. And if you've ever had the Jehovah's Witnesses come to your door, if you've ever had the Mormon missionaries come to your door. Uh This is an episode of Truth Talk Live you don't want to miss here. You want to stay with us because. Christy can be a real encouragement and a support to you in your efforts to reach.
uh Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses In fact, I have a a a D V D. Maybe some of us Still might have a DVD player. But I'll put this in the mail for you. It's got LDS questions answered. Uh answering questions your Mormon friends ask.
So maybe we'll get into some of these questions, Christy, but you were telling us about oh, and by the way, if you'd like to call in and ask Christy a question, the number is 866-348-7884. That's 866-368. 348-7884. Or you can also go to fourwitness.org. and you can learn more about the ministry.
So Christy, tell us more about the support group and how it's been encouraging people and how you've just been. Seeing the Lord work through it. Yes, thank you. I appreciate that.
So, yeah, I mentioned that my dad put together this Bible study to help brand new believers or people that are. you know, investigating Christianity, but they want to understand what does it mean to be a Christian, which is really let's just back up. What is the gospel? The gospel is the teaching that Jesus Christ died for our sins And that he was buried and that he rose again, and that if we put our faith in what Jesus did when he died, that God will count us righteous because of Christ.
So he doesn't see us in our sin, but he sees the righteousness of Christ. And so in Sanctification: There's a process where, because we believe that Jesus died for our sins, Then we walk out our faith in how we live. The gospel principles, you know, that we find in the scriptures. In living those principles, then people can come to. To grow in their walk with Jesus to be more like him.
But because of, if you have true been saved in Christ by trusting him. His Holy Spirit comes and indwells in you. Changes your heart, so you want to do what God's will is rather than your own. And that's a big difference between somebody who might grow up in a religion that's very legalistic, like Mormonism, or like Jehovah's Witnesses, where they teach that you have to do all of these ordinances of the gospel. You've got to go to the temple, you've got to get your endowments, you've got to do all these things.
And you hope. that you've attained to the level of eternal life to be with Christ in his kingdom. And yet Jesus said to the thief on the cross, this day you will be with me in paradise. This day, how could he say that since the man had not performed any temple ordinances? It's because Jesus is our righteousness if we put our faith in him.
So ultimately, what I've been doing is encouraging people in different settings. to be able to Learn more about the scriptures through my dad's study, but also through some Bible studies that I'm doing online.
Now, My situation, I I started my ministry as a single person right out of high school. I got in working with the Navigators. I was doing that as a part time job and then it turned into a full time job. And I absolutely loved doing mission work with them and also fundraising. You know, I didn't like being on the phone, so I didn't do that part, but I did a lot of the database work and and the clerical s side of that and learned a lot about accounting and What you have to do when you run a nonprofit.
Yeah. Course, my cousin was in the Mormon church at that time trying to convert me. He was on his mission. And so in my early years I had a High school, I was trying to learn how to talk to people in a religion that is teaching you have to do these works to be acceptable. And In that process, working at the Navigators, working in the fundraising, learning more about how to help and disciple new believers, also with my dad's Bible study.
I Develop the skills that I needed to start my ministry, which right now, Witnesses for Jesus focuses. primarily on people coming out of Jehovah's Witnesses. and Mormon religions, but I've also gone out and done a lot of street witnessing to people in other religions as well. And so I've gained some skills in that area. And what it comes down to is knowing the Word of God so well.
So that when a counterfeit comes to you, able to adjust identify that counterfeit. And if you know the scriptures well, you can help that person who's deceived. come into the truth that Christ offers. And so I started this mission. I was fully supported between my job at the Navigators.
and the ministry And I had some rental property that I started early on investing. And then I got married and uh recently was divorced, just about four or five years ago. And in the divorce, we had to split our assets. It's The income I used to have from the mission was sufficient at that point. to fully support me as a single mom with three kids.
And so the divorce happened in 2021. And so I I Did anything I could find, like looking, buying these programs online to make money online? Um, there are so many scams out there. All I can say is. Is I lost $70,000 in credit card racked up debt to do these mentorship programs.
They all were promising, and I did one after another.
So, you know, I combined total. $70,000 gone out the door. Um the process I do these mentorship programs, and you find out that the sales reps are taught to say, well, You'll make $5,000 in six months in our program.
So you go and you leverage your credit card out thinking you're. going to be making them out that they They are in That you can make, but then they'll have a disclaimer. when you sign the paperwork it says well We don't promise that you'll make that. You know, we're not accountable if you don't make it because you have to do your work.
Well, in some of these systems I've been in, I've met so many people who same experience, they weren't able to make that. And so here we all were dealing with that. credit card I began an online community Yeah. is I finally found a coach who's good and a bunch of other things. um that I've done and I've learned how to make money online.
Yeah. affiliate marketing on a or organic method Um building your own website, doing your own thing instead of buying these programs that teach you, hey, getting here we'll teach you how to make a fil do a earnings through paid ads. or drop shipping. We'll do drop shi you'll find out that it's just not what they what they sell. There might be some legitimate ones.
I don't want to broadcast. all of them because it's not like I did all of them but I did quite a few. And all I can say is now I have a community of people who've been in the same boat that I've been in. And now we're starting to make some income online. It's actually doing really well right now.
And that supplemental income with my mission is supporting me and my kids. And I have just a little bit of time left on my alimony. It's going to be ending soon. But because of this network that I've developed on that, I opened up a Bible study for those folks that I've been coaching in this community. And so I have another website to give to people if they want to check it out.
Um on this that is how I I started this Bible study group totally open. We have people, I have a Buddhist, I've got somebody who's into, I don't know what it is, some spiritual. I think he got into new age something. It's crazy, but I've talked to so many of you. people at different backgrounds.
And it's just God has made what was a need for me that now I can help others. I can now use that as a lead to help people find Christ and help them make money online.
So, I want to give this other website that I've. together. creative Profits Academy, C-R-E-A-T-I-V-E, Creative Profits. P R O F-I-T-S-E-S-S-S-S-S-S- Academy. A-C-A-D-E-M-Y.
The DM So creativeprofitsacademy.com. And I have a free guide. People can see some of the things that I'm doing online to help. supplement my income and I have a bunch of free training because I don't want any more p I fronts into so many people of Lost retirement accounts through these programs. I mean, one after another, after another.
And I thought, you know. The best way I can fight back. is to actually put a lot of free content up. And then if people want help with any of the technical, they want coaching to you know, get this thing working for them. I do coaching calls and I have a coaching membership platform where people can join.
Right now it's only $97 a month. I have like seven people I'm helping right now.
Okay, hold on. We'll talk more. We'll talk more. We have the music coming, just came on.
So we're going to come right back. Stay with us, Christy. Call us if you'd like to uh Talk with Christy 866-348-8. 78.84. and we'll continue Truth Talk Live right after this.
Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. This is Russ East here. with the truth network in Salt Lake City, Utah. We would love to hear from some of our friends here in Utah. The number you can call is 866-Salt Lake City.
three four eight 7884. I'm speaking with Christy Darlington. She's with four witness.org. And so I want to ask Christy a question. Christy, what do all these names of these characters have in common with each other.
Lehi, Sarai, Saria, um Laman, Lemuel, Nephi, Jacob, Enos, King Benjamin, King Noah, Abenati, Alma, Abish, Ammon, King Lamoni, Samuel the Lamanite, Three Nephites, Lamanite warrior, Captain Moroni, Helaman, Stripling Warrior, GM come. brother of Jared and Moroni, This is your trivia question. Christian? Of course, those are all the stories. Um the Book of Mormon stories, obviously.
Yes, yes.
So what I have in my hand is an action figure Of a guy.
Now we know that this is a fictional thing because Mormons think that this is true, like these are real people, just like in the Old Testament. But this one I have in my hand is one his name is Ammon. And he is a great, it says here on the back that he's a great missionary, one of four sons of King Mosiah. Ammon felt impressed to go to the Lamanites and teach them the gospel. After receiving permission from his father, he traveled to a land called Ishmael, Ammon became a servant of the Lamanite king Lamoni, defending his flocks.
The Book of Mormon tells us how through divine guidance he was able to convert many to the gospel and organize the church. among the people of Ishmael.
Now Chris, if if Ammon was able to do that Would he have would would he have had the the the priesthood? Like the way Mormons understand that because I thought that When the last apostle died, that the priesthood was taken up off the face of the earth. That is the story that they they spin. But you do have problems with that. I mean, there's major inconsistencies.
I mean, put aside the whole archaeology that's somehow missing, we have this Hill Kimorah and we can't dig any any major battle. We can't find any fragments of that. I mean, you find it all over Israel. But, you know, right? I know.
And how do you have all this well, is it in the Ohio Central Central Ohio area? Are we down in the Central America? I mean, where is this this supposed you know, where did all these things happen? And it does not fit. And the of course the DNA is missing as well and the Native Americans and it yet they were supposed to cover the entire face of the land and the mi and the country was kept from the the knowledge of other nations, so they couldn't have had a mixed DNA.
So how do they You know, they come up with all kinds of excuses, but it all falls apart when you study that. But you know, the whole idea. Yeah, it should break our hearts, right? Like I was watching a football game, my wife and I were watching Brigham Young University against the University of Utah, big rivalry here in Utah. And this all the whole stadium, the Lavelle Edwards Stadium, just filled with college students.
cheering for their team, you know, as they should. But I mean All these students who are 99.9% members of the Mormon Church. And so, Christy, what is it that's keeping Mormons in the Mormon church, would you say? What are some of the things? Maybe two or three things because I know 2 Corinthians 11 says.
That uh that that there's another spirit, another Gospel of the other Jesus out there that we that Paul is trying to warn the Corinthians. Be careful of this. Be wary of this. He says, I don't want you guys to get. They get all confused with another spirit, another gospel, another Jesus.
2 Corinthians 11. Speak to this idea of For people that are wondering, how do Mormons Dave Mormon, why is this? Our hearts should break for this. Tell us what your thoughts are. You know, I had an incredible conversation on the street with an LDS person who had seen.
some of the problems in the history of Mormonism has left the church but was still confused on why do Christians say that Mormons have another Jesus? And yes, we have all those scriptures that warn us about their, you know, if someone or an angel from heaven preaches another gospel or another Jesus. We have those scriptures that warn us. But here's the thing. One thing I have noticed consistently in every religion that has a different Jesus is they make Jesus out to be a creation, not the creator, but an aspect of creation.
And Mormonism is no different in this regard. As I was talking with this LDS individual, I said, okay, let's look at John 1.1. It says in In the beginning was the word, and of course he understood the word is a reference to Jesus. And the word was with God, okay, so we're talking the word is with the Father, okay, we understand that. And the word was God.
God. And then it goes on down, and it says in verse 3, all things were made through him and we were able to do it. Without him was not anything made that has been made. All things. That were made were made through him.
So if Jesus was part of God's creation, let's say he's the spirit brother of Lucifer, as Mormonism teaches, or Joseph. Jehovah's Witnesses think he's the Archangel Michael, still a created being. If you make him out to be a created being other than the creator, what box are you going to put him in? John 1 says, In the beginning was the word. That means at the point when creation began, the word existed, Jesus existed.
Yeah. Was he inside the box of creation or was he outside the box? And as we looked at that passage, he started to see Jesus has to be outside the box of creation because if you have all things coming into existence through him, and Colossians says the same thing in Colossians one, sixteen, that all things, even the principalities, the powers, the angels, you know, all things are made through him.
So if everything's made through Christ, He did not create himself, he cannot be in that box of creation, and therefore must be of the same God nature as God the Father, and in so being he stands outside of time. And it's like when I started to explain that, I said, if Jesus is my spirit, brother. He is not my creator. Think of it this way: Can you birth your son your brother? And like, no.
Can you. produce, can you create your brother? Yeah. So how can Jesus just be a spirit brother to you? if he's your creator.
I mean, that's impossible.
So, you know, when we read in the scriptures, When we read of of him being the firstborn of many brothers, there is a verse in the Bible. That's in the context of us as adopted children of God and in the sense of him being the head of the church. That is a different context. The scripture is clear. Jesus stands outside of his creation, so he cannot.
B Um my creator, if he's my spirit brother in the sense that Mormonism thinks in a proto-prodo, you know, creation, pro-creation sense.
So yeah, that That's been a big issue. And I've done this with Jehovah's Witnesses very effective as well. And when they understand. Where Scripture puts Jesus. There's no way he could be the Archangel Michael or He could be the Spirit Brother.
Or even, like, I was talking to a guy in that, you know, esoteric. I'm not even sure what he would call himself 'cause he's outside of religion, but he's Getting there's a This uh Spirit meet him coming to him saying he's Jesus, and that everyone's worshiping the one who claims to be God, but I'm the Jesus. And that's what the guy was saying, the spirit being was saying to him, that he was Jesus, and he was lonely because everyone else is worshiping as a Jesus. And I told the guy, look at. Yeah.
Satan himself will masquerade as an angel of light right there in 2 Corinthians 11, I think it's verse 14 or 12. It says that Satan himself will appear like this. And that's why you don't believe in many false prophets and false Christ would come in the last days, Matthew 24. And so this is why we must test the spirit, not just Feel them to see if they're of God. We must test and prove all things and take their words according to Scripture.
And when this guy, this demon or whatever is appearing to this man telling him that everybody else has the wrong Jesus and he's the right one because Jesus isn't God. Wait a minute, wait a minute, that's a sign that you have a different Jesus and you are following a false spirit at that point.
Well, let's develop this conversation even into a slightly different direction. And that would just be to compare and contrast Mormon teaching with biblical teaching when it comes to the number one.
Now this analogy may not work exactly right, but I think it's pretty close. One times one times one is one.
So you have one essence, you have three persons, and that's what makes up the Trinity. Isn't it interesting that Although it's it's a deep and it's a it's sometimes a hard concept to to gather. But that we find that that Isaiah forty three ten says Are there any other gods? I don't know any, okay? There are none none other, okay?
But in Mormonism There's a twist To things such as the nature of God, the nature of a temple, the nature of even of a man and a wife. And and the nature of, I think, even the Bible or God's record of All of these things, I think, properly understood should be Um Pro uh proceeded um or It should be a very good idea. Given the number one, there's only one God, one temple. A man is supposed to have one life. And then there's this one book, this one collection of books, of letters and records.
called the Bible. But in Mormonism That's just all thrown out the window. There are many gods, many temples. You can have. Plural wives In heaven.
And then there's all all these other scriptures and there's An open canon, and you could have modern day revelation. Would you want to speak a little bit on this topic? And then we'll can continue after the break, but just thought we'd talk about that a little bit. What comes to your mind as I'm speaking about those things, Christy?
Well, absolutely. There's only one God, and you know. We're not him. you know, w we might have elements and we're made in his image because we can we can, you know, we can do our own little Um And things that he's given us. his in his ability to Exemplify that love and that care and that, you know, different attributes of him, but he.
We are created beings and God is. the one God who stands outside of his creation. But it All of these aspects, there's one church and that's not talking about a building, it's talking about a a community of believers. And there's one baptism, and that's everyone being baptized into Christ, trusting Christ alone. And there's a lot of things that That can be contrasted.
The temple. You know, there was only to be one temple in Jerusalem, and then Jesus said, in the Bible, it says that there's someone greater than the temple is here. Greater than the temple, but Jesus Christ Himself, who gives us His Spirit. And when His Spirit comes in, the church, once He established His church here. Uh his Holy Spirit came in.
wells all of us. Yeah. We are the body, the temple of the Holy Spirit. in um first i think it's first corinthians six Where it says that um that we are now the temple of God.
So that The Spirit of God dwells in us. And as we gather as believers, That is how we render safe. God and not in some kind of a or building. That's why Jesus said to the woman at the well. The time is now that men will worship the Father in Spirit and in truth.
She's asking, where are we? Supposed to worship because you know she was in Samaria, Samaria, and Samaritans weren't allowed in the Jerusalem temple. I mean, they had the core of the Gentiles, but I'm just saying she couldn't worship the same way the Jews did. And so then they had their own place of worship. And Jesus said, no, it's not.
It's not at a building. It's going to be the Spirit of God. Not a building, that's right. Not made with hands. that we are the temple of God ourselves as believers in Christ alone.
Christy, stay with us. We've got one more segment. Call us at 866-348-7884. If you're in Salt Lake City, Utah. Call us this afternoon.
Christy would love to answer any questions you have. 866-348-7084. We'll be right back here on Truth Talk Live. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. This is Russ East, your host.
I'm with Christy Darlington from Witnesses for Jesus. You can find her website. Just go to forwitness.org. We want to bring on a caller right now. We have a gentleman from Ohio.
I believe he goes by the name Buskman, if I'm not mistaken. Man, you're on the air. You're on Truth Talk Live. What question do you have for Christy? Awesome.
Hey, Russ, and nice to meet you, Chrissy. This is so timely, you guys. Um the other night I was approached by two young ladies wearing the black placards. And they were from the Latter-day Saints. And they said, hey, Buskman, would you like to come to church with us?
And so I've been in a conversation with them. And I will be taking a tour of the local temple Near the bus there where I live in Dayton, Ohio. And I just wanted some advice. from Christy on how I should treat this situation. What should I say?
What would be a good uh To bring them to Jesus Christ because I've read a little bit. Of the um The Mormon uh uh the Book of Mormon. And the book that I actually have, guys. still has the fly leaf in it. That says that this book is to be taken more reverently and authoritative.
than any other book on the planet.
So I'm assuming Doesn't say right in it. That includes the Holy Bible.
So I noticed when I got another copy of the Book of Mormon. That was deleted. It wasn't in the fly leaf.
So I'm planning on taking my older version. with me to this uh to this what the young ladies called a tour. And I said, I would love to take a tour with young ladies. And gosh, they look like. twelve year old girls to me, but I'm I'm really ancient and old.
But anyway, I would like some advice on that, and I can mute myself and take your answer. Thanks, guys. And leave leave your address with leave your address with Grace and our screen our call screener, and we can mail you out some materials. We'll mail you a bunch of stuff. But Christy, Chris, Go ahead, Christy.
Go ahead and answer his question if you would. I would love to send him a book if he'd like that, so he can just let the caller know, or screener know. Uh but I want to just say for particularly you're going through the temple tour, a lot of times they don't let you do a lot of talking there, but you might get a chance to ask a question or two. And on my site, number fourmormon.org, I have the why Mormon temples are not needed. It's on the home page.
We just put that up. I just did a temple outreach here in Grand Junction using some of these. points Yeah. Click on that, there's a video you can watch, there's a PDF you can download. There's also, let's see, under the video, I think the Read More, I might have it on there.
You'll have to pull the whole article up. But I also have a track too that's really short. I don't work in the sm So it depends.
Sometimes The LDS missionaries will take something from you, but generally, I find it far more effective to learn the questions to ask. And just bring those, you know, like ask one or two of those questions and just say, you know, I don't understand this.
Well how do you you know how do you have The church being called now God's temple here, you know, that we're a structure that grows together in a holy temple in the Lord. Ephesians 2:19 through 22. And yet, you guys are saying that we Christians. who don't have your temples. are are not pleasing God, but yet how you have a holy temple if it's the church that didn't have You know, you could sh bring up verses like that, or you could bring up 1 Corinthians 6.19 I mentioned earlier.
And also, it's 1 Corinthians 3, 16 and 17. Do you not know that you are God's temple and the Spirit of God dwells in you? Those verses are pretty clear.
So you could just pick a couple of these, but I have like six different things that you can ask. And it all depends on how the conversation goes, you know, during or after the temperature. Yeah, this is fantastic, Christy, because I'm I'm supposed to tour it this coming Thursday.
So if everybody would pray for the buddy buskman, Um I'm going to meet the young ladies. at the temple in Centerville, Ohio, And it will be at 5 p.m. I'm looking at their text now, 5 p.m. This Thursday. Yes, that'll be great.
They have different times for their tours and everything, but I love the fact that you're going with these people, with these missionaries, and they're going to definitely be following up with you. They'll probably want to come to your house and have more discussions, which is awesome.
So you'll get a chance to continue the dialogue and ask other things. What about the restored gospel? Have a restored gospel if the church is to give. Glory to God throughout all generations. How can the priesthood be missing?
I have a whole article on priesthood authority and how Joseph Smith. added that in after 2,000 people were already baptized into his church. You know, how could he if he does that mean he didn't have a priesthood before then? Does that mean that all these people don't have priesthood authority if he made their arguments? And then there's um Yeah.
Go back to this is what I like to do. They say, Well, we had this great apostasy, and the authority was lost by the apostles, but I say, What happened at Acts? X went at Pentecost. When the Spirit came down on 3,000 people, got saved. And the Spirit was empowering them, and you're telling me there was no gospel or priesthood, whatever they want to call it, authority.
To be able to go out and and spread you know, the gospel to other churches, they they was just lost. It was only the twelve guys How do you keep that? when we have at Pentecost. In an early chapter. Yeah, that tells me.
Yeah. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Nope, you go ahead, ma'am.
Well, I was just saying that that priesthood authority, you can go back, our line of priesthood authority coming from Christ. And the Holy Spirit indwells all believers.
So y you we don't have a a powerless Holy Spirit in us. You know, God has not given us the spirit of fear, as it says in Timothy.
So how is it that they think that somehow they don't have we don't have power? When the Bible tells me we do, and we have authority to be called the children of God because what it says in 1 John 1 12, or no, John 1:12.
So yeah, go ahead and ask your question, but yeah, there's so many verses that you can deal with that priesthood authority argument easily. By taking them back to the computer. That power verse, guys, in Truth Talk Live. It's 2 Timothy 1.7, 2 Tim 1.7. We were not given a spirit of fear, but power, love, and a sound mind.
That's coming out of the bust brain, by the way. I don't have my copy of my work. I love it. I want to know the answer to this. When did they start sending the female missionaries?
I was so used to male missionaries. It kind of surprised me that I saw two very, well, what looked like very young ladies. by themselves is When did they do that, Christy? I don't know of a timeframe specifically because they've been doing that for a long time. Ever since I've been doing my ministry, way back in 1995, they had the female missionaries.
I wasn't aware of that being a recent change. or even in the last 20 years. I would have to say that. They have no male coverage. I mean, I'm thinking, and in Dayton, Ohio.
It can get pretty sketchy. Especially where I used to live. And I couldn't imagine Two very pristine, nice, well-dressed young ladies walking by themselves without male coverage just to keep an eye on them in certain areas.
Now, maybe. Their eldership tells them not you know to go in certain certain parts of what they might know might be a little more hostile. But I I was thinking that with the guys it was okay. And they were usually on ten speeds with their helmets and their nice shirts and ties with the big black placard. But when I saw the lady folks Honestly, Christy, it concerns me, and I would cover them, I would watch them.
from afar and and I would see, you know, if anybody starts to mess with these girls Busman's kicking into gear, not on my watch. And so I just wondered when that transfer of the male to the female came about, but I understand, my friend. Yeah, pray for me this coming Thursday.
Sounds good. Yeah, but I'll say that they're discounted by Mormonism. Yeah. The listeners that are on here, we also have the radio clips that we've done. They're on our website.
over at four witness.org, fourmormon.org. You can find sections of the book.
So people can do that. And I have it on Audible too.
So if people want to get the book on Audible, go to my links and go to Amazon, and you can get it there, too. I definitely want that information. That's going to be such a blessing. Would you say a prayer for Buskbin right now, Christy? Just on the air right now, and maybe all the listeners right now are going to be.
I love that, guys. Yes, join in, True Talk listeners. You can have the whole. The whole Truth Talk listener audience is going to pray for you right now, Busman. Christy, go ahead and leave.
I'm humbled, Ross. Yeah, so Oh, dear Father, we thank you for Busman and the heart you've given him to reach out to these LDS missionaries and to reach out to anybody else that comes across this path who needs to know the real Jesus. want to pray for this opportunity that he has to be able to go to a Mormon temple opening and Lord, I pray for any interaction he has inside this tour, the people that he meets, that maybe you'll give him an insight of something he could say that maybe somebody he's walking through the tour with and say, hey, how is this that, you know, bring up some question that maybe that person next to him might have or might not have thought of, but he can plant a seed for you. I just pray you would just open those doors as he gets equipped. to be able to witness to the LDS folks that he's going to meet on this tour as well as the missionaries he gets to talk with afterward.
I just pray that you give him. Your spirit to guide him on what are the questions these young ladies need to hear and to think about. Wait t When they're on their mission, even though right then they're probably not going to say, Hey, you know, I think you're right and we're wrong. They're probably not going to say that. But I pray that He would plant the seeds that your Holy Spirit will use to bring them out of this counterfeit religion into a real relationship with the Jesus of the Bible.
We pray in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. Amen. You guys are awesome.
Okay, I want to put their names out there, guys. I'm looking at their text right now. Yeah. Okay, there you go. Sister Punch and Sister Osmond.
