Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right, let's talk the truth news. I can't hide it. I can hold it in the morning. A daily program powered by the Truth Network.
This is kind of a great thing, and I'll tell you what. Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together. Speak your mind. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host. Psalm 119.11.
says thy word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against thee. When in your life, like, when did you actually have something in there that you had stored in your heart? And it just came to life in front of your eyes like Oh. That's what that, like, that scripture was in there, and all of a sudden you lived it, or you had it on the tip of your tongue right then when that person went to the hospital, or right then, where you were in the middle of somebody that was really struggling. All of a sudden, that scripture came in.
Came to life for you in the moment. How did you get it in your heart? How did all that work? I would love to hear your story. Again, it's a live show, and so it doesn't mean anything unless you call us 866-3487-884-866-3487.
Seven eight eight four. When did you live out? Psalms 119.11 that you you'd hidden the word in your heart and then you got to see it Come about, or maybe you have a great idea on how you can hide that in your heart, like Nancy Epperson used to quote and float in the swimming pool.
So, Stu, you ever wonder why Stu knows all that scripture? Because in that swimming pool, you know, that's how that happened for them.
So, how did maybe you have a neat idea on how you do that, or maybe you had a chance to experience it? We're so blessed to have with us Beverly Moser today. She is the founder of Epic Love Story. Which they put scripture to music just to help people to do that, right, Beverly? That's right.
And so we're going to hear some of that music throughout the show today, but that's nowhere near as good as hearing your stories. Like when this actually happened for you, I'll give you a perfect example in my own life. Like there's it's almost daily that this happens to me actually. But One of my favorite stories was: I was asked to do 100 interviews at the Association of Christian Counseling. Um Um Conference that they had.
It was a world conference that they had in Tennessee one year. And they said, Robbie, we want you to do 100 interviews. Over the weekend, while that's happening.
Well, you know, if you're doing 100 interviews in however many hours, I knew that I only had seven or eight minutes per interview, and I'm going to try to interview all these different counselors. And so you might imagine I began to pray, like, God, what. You know, I don't want to just have a meaningless seven minutes. I I want God make Make it come to life for me. Make something beautiful happen.
That this will mean something to both the people being interviewed and to the people that hear it. And he gave me this. And I'll never forget it because I watched it. I watched it every day for the three days I did those interviews. I've never seen anything like it in my life.
He said, Robbie, in 2 Corinthians chapter 1, I think it starts in verse 2 or 3. It says, The God of all comfort comforts us with comfort that we might comfort others with the comfort we were comforted with. That's a tongue twister, but that's kind of how that goes. And So, everybody that sat down that I interviewed over that weekend, that was the very question I was using, Siri. If they were, say, a suicide prevention counselor, I would say, so.
You're a suicide convention counselor. You know I Are you familiar with 2 Corinthians 1, where it says, The God of all comfort comforts us that we might comfort others with the comfort we are comforted with? What does that mean in your practice? And I sat there and watched. As one after another after another of the counselors, they lived that scripture.
In other words, if they were helping people on a suicide hotline, guess what? They'd attempted suicide. If they were working on the abortion, you know, the th th that situation time and again. They had experienced that same thing in their life.
Sometimes the men, sometimes the women. It was fascinating to me. Marriage counselors, guess what? Their parents had had a horrible divorce or there was something in their life that God had comforted them that they might comfort others with the comfort that they were comforted with. And that's what I, when you see scripture come to life like that, there's nothing like it.
And so that's why I'm hoping that you'll call because I know you got stories that will touch our hearts, that will help other people realize the value of memorizing scripture, of getting it in there. 866-348-7884. 866-348-7884. Of all those that I did that weekend. The most meaningful was And the one I was sure that I was going to miss it this time, because this guy sat down and he was not a psychologist or a counselor.
He was a psychiatrist, and he looked like Sigmund Freud. He was wearing a three-piece suit with a vest, right? And he had these little glasses and the little goatee. And I was like, man, you're interviewing Sigmund Freud right here. And so I had to start out, you know, like, Well, sir, you know, Doc, the God of all comfort comforts us with the God, you know, and I said exactly the same thing to him.
And I said, How does that play out in your life? And he began to weep. He goes, nobody's ever asked me that. But I'll share the story. He said I had just been married for about three weeks.
And I lost my mind. I went totally insane. and I was placed in a mental institution. And while I was in that medal institution, I saw this red light that was over on the wall and I was convinced that that was Satan and I was inside of that red light and I just could not get out of the fact that I was in Satan and that was where I was seeing myself, etc. etcetera.
He said, My young wife sat on the bed across from me, and she looked at me, and she said, You know, I do not know where you are or how you got there. But I can't live without you.
So if I need to be insane...
so that I can be with you. Tell me how to go about doing that. Uh Mm. And he said I was able to help Jesus bring me back. I'm able to contact Jesus to help me bring me back to, so it was Jesus that literally brought him back to reality.
Um But through that process, he understood enough to where he went to school to become a psychiatrist so that he could help other people come back from that place of insanity based on how God had comforted him. Like, oh my goodness, I'll never forget that interview as long as I live. How in the world God and I you know in seven, eight minutes, Do you get something that would just literally blow you away? And so I know as I'm saying these things, something is going across your mind, and I would love to hear it. 866, please, 866-348-7884-866-34TRUT.
And this really for you, Beverly, has been a labor love as God kind of put this whole idea on your heart, right? He sure did. And so take us to that. Learning scripture since I was a little kid because I was raised Southern Baptist, and you just did that in Sunbeams and GAs. all and then kept that up through college, had my kids listen to scripture songs, integrity, maranatha music, help them learn it.
And about mm middle age, somewhere in there, I had um I had index cards that had written dates on that had memorized certain verses. And then when I went back to review those, it was as if I had never memorized them. They were like brand new. And this was really frustrating for me because I was I had been good at scripture memory. And so after enough of those kind of situations, I was in my kitchen one.
Afternoon, and I just looked at these verses and I looked at the dates, and I was like, I should know this one, and I can't memorize it, I can't pull it up.
So I crossed because of the experience with my kids and the little jingles that they had memorized. I put my arms across my chest and I leaned back up on the counter and I looked up at the ceiling and I said, God, bemoaning in a bemoaning voice, why has nobody set the Bible to music? It's so much easier to remember that way. and then after a pause I heard over my right shoulder You do it. Great question, he said.
I love that question. And that shut me up. Or I should say silenced me. Silenced by that call. And then from there, conversations and meeting people, and it just sprung, but that was the seed for it.
And it's called Epic Love Story. And you're going to hear some of the music of different scriptures that. that they have come now with seven different Pieces of scripture that are set to music to help us to hide these things in our heart from different. Um Sections of the Bible, different books of the Bible.
So we come back, you're going to hear the music, one of those songs, but While you're thinking about that, call us with your story. We would love to hear how. Right, hadn't that word in your heart just made all the difference? 866-348-7884-866-34-TRUTH. We'll be right back.
Truth. Dark light. In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God. And the word was God. He was with God in the beginning.
Through him, all things were made. Without him, nothing was made. That has been made. In him was life, and life was the light of all mankind. Oh, the light shines in the dark.
That is Epic Love Story today on Truth Talk Live with the question being, you know. What word have you hidden in your heart that came back and just bore all kinds of fruit? Is that the idea behind Epic Love Story, which you could hear beautifully, John 1? Amazingly, I would have to say, I've not heard that one, Beverly. Actually, it's really, really good.
It's really beautiful. It is good. It's beautiful. And who's that artist? Her name is Raquel.
I don't know her last name, Sal Founder. She is wonderful.
So, in your life. Like you had this scripture, and all of a sudden, boy, God gave it to you on the tip of your tongue in a moment when you desperately needed it. 866-348-7884 is the number to call in and share. 866-348-7884. And in your own life, Beverly, obviously.
God put this on your heart because it bore fruit in your life, right? Sure did many times over. But one of the most poignant ones that I, you know, that I recall, and that even today really touches me, is we had a tragedy in our family in that our daughter died, Davis and my daughter died. And after that, there were, I don't know, I'm going to say it was maybe a year or two after. There were other griefs that happened.
It's one of those seasons where when it rains, it pours. You know, just one thing. How old was she? She was three. Oh my.
She was three. And some other griefs just just anyway came. And I remember walking down we have this pathway around our house, just sobbing, you know, it was the grief was just so heavy and I was just sobbing, sobbing, so about all of it, not just Valerie, but all of it. And like it was down low, so we grieve, but not as those who have no hope. Uh And it just was like oil on, you know, those wounds and Then I went, okay.
It was like, because before that, I was like, what's going to happen? What are we going to do? And it was like, whoo. And the peace of Christ came. In that wor in that word, along.
With the hope. Right. Wow. Like, wow. Like, wow.
You know, it's one of those moments that I could see where I was, feel exactly. It was that. It was that. It was like. The scriptures met my heart, as you were speaking of earlier.
Yeah, it's so beautiful, but maybe Beverly's story struck something with you, and we don't want to miss that. You've got to have the courage, because your story could encourage lots of people to memorize scripture. What a difference that might make for generations. 866-348-7884. 866-348-7884.
So If you look at one Psalm 119 and what Beverly was referring to is look at this in a little different light. When you actually study the Hebrew that's behind it, you're going to see some things that I don't want you to miss, and that's a good pun almost, that I don't want you to miss it because It's it's a fascinating thing that There are two words throughout the 119th Psalm that David uses repeatedly for the word of God. And one of those words is Debar, which is the way you would normally think of the scriptures, are debar the word.
However, there's another word which is a little bit more intimate word, and it has to do with a spoken word, and that word is a mira.
Well, it is that word. that David chose in Psalm 119, 11. to hide in his heart. Yeah.
Something that could be that you're literally hearing God. Like, how cool is that? And that is Again, when you hear scripture Maybe you heard it, but it didn't speak to you, okay?
Now we're talking about you can hear from what Beverly just described. She more than heard that scripture. It touched her. She heard God, right? I heard God.
Well, the second part of the scripture that. really is beautiful when you study it. And maybe you've heard this about the word hata, which means sin.
Okay, but so when he says, I may not sin against you, you know, we use that word. Uh essentially to think of bad things. but it actually means to miss. like to miss the mark.
Some people may have told you that sin means to miss the mark.
Well, this could actually mean I've hidden your word in my heart. I've hidden something that you spoke to me in my heart that I won't miss you. Mm-hmm. Beautiful. And so when you think about that picture that Beverly just described, she had that word.
that had spoken to her And it was hidden in her heart, right? That we don't grieve as those who have no hope. And so. When all of a sudden she had the grief and she knew that that's what you're experiencing, and maybe you've experienced grief like that. I I I have.
Like I'm when my father died I I remember going into his closet and I just became Overwhelmed. Like, it was not something like, man, I'm going to grieve right now. I think I'm going to cry. I think I'm going to get upset. No, no, no.
It hit me like from nowhere, almost. In fact, it did take me to my knees. I could Choke on it, right? That kind of grief. Right.
And You don't have control over it. And then here comes this word. That spoke to your heart. That says, We don't grieve like those who have any hope, that have no hope, because we do, we do. We do.
And so it's a beautiful thing, and because of that, you didn't miss him. Right. And, you know, in so many ways, maybe you're one of those that have memorized the 23rd Psalm, right? That, that, that. You know, Surely, goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, right?
And we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. All the hope that's in there is like, man, really? And all those different, you know, even though I walked through the valley of the shadow of death, that's where you were. And how is that spoken? How has that borne fruit?
Is it worthwhile?
Something that you need to make sure In my mind. Don't you want those people you love to know that? Don't you want to make sure That everybody has a chance at those moments where they don't miss God because they have that word in their heart. How do you do it? When have you experienced it?
You got to call us, 866-348-7884. We want to hear. Like, man, your stories are, they just never cease to blow my mind, really, as we look at this topic and think about. Like man. There you were in this situation And it made all the difference.
I did indeed. And I can't tell you, right, that the times that I've been on the air, I really, there's no way. That that all of a sudden I was like... Man, I have no idea where we're going next, God. And I begin to pray.
And all of a sudden, some piece of scripture just hits me between the eyes. like this particular psalm, right? That I know for m so much of my life that I I don't want to miss God. In In any broadcast that I ever do, in any podcast that I do, in any moment in my life, moments with my wife, I was at a wedding yesterday. Right?
Beautiful wedding in Asheville. For those of you who are masculine journey listeners, Sam Maine's oldest son, Caleb, was getting married. It was an absolutely. Beautiful, beautiful. beautiful.
wedding right And I couldn't help but think of the Song of Solomon for those of us who are Song of Solomon fans, right? Yeah.
I found the one my soul loveth. I held him and I would not let him go. Until I'd taken him to my mother's house, the place where I was conceived. Like, what? Like That picture of that being able to enjoy a wedding, I didn't miss him.
Right? We don't want to miss it. How did that work out in your life? 866, we got another song coming. The break from Epic Love Story.
Go to epiclovestory.com. It'll really help you with. Hearing God's word in a way that's easier to remember. We'll be right back. Oh.
Truth taught by the rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again and again. Rejoice that your gentleness be evident to all the Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, my prayer and petition with thanksgiving present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds.
In Christ Jesus, rejoice. Yeah.
Psalm 119 says, Thy word have I hidden in mine heart, that I might not sin against you. How is that? Come to life in your life. I would love, believe me, I would love to hear that story. 866-348-7884.
So many people, when they hear a testimony, you know, it's like they don't miss God when that happens because they see, wow, there's fruit in doing this kind of thing. And they've heard it's good to memorize scripture and they've heard this, but man, when you have the right word at the right season, it brings life in amazing ways. And how has that actually happened for you? 866-348-7884. So blessed to have Beverly Moser with us.
She is the founder of Epic Love Story. It's epiclovestory.org. I said, that's actually.org, not dot com. And oh, all these songs are right there that we just heard, which that's another one I haven't heard. And so, and a little different genre.
So part of what you're doing is not just. You know, not One genre or one country, it's international and it's different things, right? It is, Robbie. It is. One of our commitments is to set the Bible to music in the top genres of the world.
And those are ones that are listened to around the world, no matter what country you live in. And so our goal is to make the Bible accessible, if you will, to what people are already listening to.
So that's what we're going to do. And so that particular song was a sampling of a country song, as you could tell. It was a country genre. Beautiful. Absolutely.
And the artist in that one, do you remember? I don't know his name. I never know. I don't know his name. He's rejoicing, though.
Yeah, he is rejoicing.
So he is called a session, a session player, a session singer. And again, Sal, our music producer, just has such a great network. And he pulls from what he thinks, who he thinks would. deliver what he has in his mind. And he also is um He he's his standard is really high.
So He picks people that are good in their fields. Yeah, obviously, as we're hearing, and I've heard several before, but again, it's epiclovestory.org. And, you know, wouldn't it be nice, you know, when you thought about like Rejoice that all of a sudden you can finish that verse because you know the tune or John 1, as we, you know, and You know, John One, if I think about that one. you know, one of my favorite Things I experience constantly in my mind, mind, in my heart, where I don't miss him like it talked about. you know, where you miss the mark.
Is it says Jesus was full of grace and truth. But just that one little phrase right there, he's full of grace. And so when I See someone. That Seems to treat people like in amazing ways. And I'll tell you a perfect example of that is Nikita Koloff.
For those of you who don't ever know Nikita or you were not familiar with his radio show, it's called Man Up. But he's one of those people, like. If you see him sit down with somebody or whatever, they could be a wrestling fan or not a wrestling fan, whoever it is. He will treat them Like they're one of his favorite people ever. Give him as much time as they need.
Um You know, he will be their friend to the end. I mean, he is full of grace and truth. He will tell you, you need to go on a diet. Like,. Seriously, told me that.
I could tell you. You know, part of the reason I don't weigh what I used to weigh is because one of my best friends is Nikita Goloff, and he'll tell you the truth. Um But he does it in such a way that you know because he loves you, because he wants, because it comes with such grace.
Well right.
Well And maybe you know people like that who tell you the truth, but they do it with such grace that it's absolutely beautiful.
So when you know that, that Jesus, here's the reason why I love that. That Jesus If whatever Nikita has and it's beautiful, Jesus has that times a zillion. He he wants To love and accept you, and he believes you have what it takes in ways that we can't even imagine. Beautiful. So, this is your opportunity to show me some grace here.
Yeah.
Ha ha ha. And dial eight six six. 3487884, because I want to hear your story. When did you see God's word come to life? You didn't miss it, or how is it that you go about memorizing scripture?
You know, having done a bunch of that, and I know Beverly has as well, it's interesting that I didn't really take it up real. Originally. When I started When I was a baby Christian, I went to the Christian Business Men's Committee actually with Stu. And there we memorized scripture. And then I didn't do it for years and years and years and years.
Okay. Then about five or six years ago God called me back to it and I am so grateful. How how What's another example in your life that you can think of perfectly? Let's see, well, I think one of the the um I can really tell you one that happened just last weekend.
So, again, it was one of those situations, which I think the scripture often meets us in these difficult places.
So, I had gotten some disappointing news. It wasn't tragic news, it wasn't devastating news, it was just deeply disappointing. You know, that kind that kind of gets in your soul and just sticks. And you do all your things that you normally do to try to get rid of it, and it doesn't go away. In fact, it's actually tied to Epic Love Story.
And so, I was driving, and I thought, you know, I'm just going to put it on the playlist because I know that's scripture. I'm going to see what happens. And the first one that came on, the first one that came on was our song. It's just a kind of a CCM song from Colossians. CCM, I apologize for that.
Oh, that's a Christian, it's like a it's like most Christian music is CCM, what they call CCM, contemporary Christian music.
Okay, there you go, CCM. And so, that's this particular genre, and it was from Colossians where it says you're in Christ. And set your mind on things above. Set your hearts on things above.
So I couldn't get my mind and my heart off of this disappointment. And so set my mind on things above, set your heart on things above, where Christ is seated. It's like, oh, okay, that got my attention. And then the next one that was on that playlist was our song. It's an electronic dance music song from Proverbs that says, Many are the plans of a man's heart, but it's the Lord's purpose that will prevail.
And see, already I can memorize just because I didn't sit down and try to memorize that passage. I memorized it from the music. And then the next one was from Philippians, which was rejoice, you know, the country song we just heard. And within, again, what's so amazing to me about this, Robbie, is that within minutes, I'd been trying to shake this for like a day and a half, and I couldn't shake it. Within what those songs are Three minutes each, roughly.
So nine minutes. My soul was transformed, and again joy came. I was set free from that. that internal holding on to me. And that is what we long to see happen.
thousands of times over the world through Epic Love Story. Yeah.
Yeah, because In his presence, Psalm 16, in his presence is fullness of joy. At his right hand are pleasures forevermore.
So. if you can get to that place With the aid of scripture. To feel his presence again, or even rejoice, because you know, God inherits and I mean, that God's in his people's praises, so you know, inhabits the people's praises. And so, either of those things will get you. You know, and as a pastor, it's not unusual for me, people that say to me, Robbie.
I feel so distant from God, I just don't feel like we're as close as we used to be. Get them listening to this music, right? Or really listen to the word, but the music will take you there. Yeah.
Yeah.
That's definitely the prescription is you need the word. You need the word. And You know, a lot of people They listen to Christian music, Christian contemporary music, and there's some scripture in there. But this one is wholeheartedly like. It is.
Essentially you Require that they do a passage. This isn't something where you make up some lyrics to go with it. No, it is the words of Scripture. Yeah.
As you know, we call them earworms when you get that tune in your head or those words. You know, you hear it in the grocery store somewhere and it's playing, and two weeks later, you're like, Where did that song come from? And you remembered that it's like gets into you like that. That's what we want, but we want the word of God to get into people like that, not just songs about the word of God. Earworms.
Yeah, earworms. Bring back bad memories of Star Trek. That's what we call 'em. We call them earworms. We want our music to be earworms.
You know, when I think of an earworm, you know, I think of the chicken song. Come on, do it with me, Drayson. Yeah.
Yeah.
Come on now, what's your earworm that you've uh what Piece of scripture, you know, that's a pretty cool kind of earworm to have. Yes. 8663487884, 866, 3487884. And so. It's really, really cool that That Yeah.
God put Sal, he raised up Sal in your life, right? He sure did. And that he is such a talented. And he understands. That there's a certain Logic.
To these The way that Popular music works, right? It is. And he's committed to it being written that way. And so and it also has to be written a certain way to be memorable. Just I I love to tell the story.
I never set out to learn Disney's Let It Go, right, from Frozen. But can I sing that refrain? You bet I can. Why? Because it's written a certain way to be memorable.
And it was written that way. And that takes a certain skill set, and that's part of what we're about. Not only just, we're not just about putting the scripture to music linearly, which we could do, right? Just. like you were if you were reading it, but no, we're we're it's being written in a way so it sticks.
So Right, earworms. I like that. You know, it's uncomfortable, but it works to whatever level that you need to know that. Man, I mean, this stuff You know, I love that, um, You look at the scripture time and time again. It was the word of God that changed somebody's life drastically.
It was. His word. And so it works. In all of our lives, at some point in time, even the gospel itself was essentially the word. And so, have you got any.
Um Gospel ones that are coming up? You mean from like from the gospel, like literally from Matthew, Luke, and John, you mean? Or gospel ones? Like actually a simple, like John 3.16.
Well, here's our next phase. I'm glad you're asking this. Our next phase is what we did is, again, this is Sal's work. He went and researched from Bible Gateway and UVersion, what are the top verses that are being engaged with right now? Like, what's the top 100?
And so our next group of songs will be Those Top 100 set to music. Because that's where people are engaging. That's beautiful. We're going to call our greatest history. There you go.
Well, you call us with your earworm, whatever that may be, or some way that God used this in your life. 866-4566. 348-7884-866-34 Truth. We'll be right back. We've got one more segment to get this done.
All right.
Sounds great.
Alright, here's a one-hour not heard this computer. Since then you have been raised with Christ. This is the Colossians 1. Set your hearts on things above.
The Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind's own thing above Uh Not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. With Him in glory.
Since then, you have been raised with Christmas. Love story is what it is. Pretty easy to remember that. It's epic. And it's a love story that God wrote.
And it is epiclovestory.org. If you go there, you can find all these different songs that they have. Made to scripture. And again, what an amazing ministry. And we're actually talking about starting a new podcast, broadcast, with having a regular show with what they're doing.
And so we would love your feedback on that. And by all means, go to epiclovestory.org to find out more about that. And again, we're here with Beverly Moser today talking about thy word have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against thee. How does that. Look in your life.
How do you memorize scripture? Or where is that borne fruit? Like, man, I never would have expected it to hit me right here in this spot. And I didn't miss God as a result. I got to see His touch, His hand.
You call us 866-348-7884, 866-348-7647. 7884 is the number to call in, and we would again just Cherish your story as I know that there might be somebody out there. This might be the very thing that they need to hear today. And so. I know we may be having phone trouble.
If you've called and you weren't able to hear us, keep trying, for goodness sakes. 866-348-7884. Sometimes we don't know what may be going on with that.
So, what, as you were talking about your greatest hits coming up, that you're. you're working to see what scriptures people are using the most.
Well, the that's already been pretty well mm determined if you if we just use Bible Gateway and UVersion, this the most frequently searched passages. Really? Mm-hmm. And there's I don't know how many there are, you know I don't know how many they put out together, but there's at least a hundred. Which one does one of those jump out at you that kind of s that you're like, Oh, well, that's number one or whatever?
Well, it it did surprise me, but it shouldn't surprise me. It was John 3, 16. That's like the number one. And so you are you in production on John 316? Not yet, but we will be.
This is our next kind of group that we're going to call that we're going to create.
So no way. I think another one of those was Romans 5.8. probably from the Romans Road. Uh and then there were some on comfort. Uh, Psalm twenty three was in there.
So passages that people we hear about anyway, you might see on cards or on plaques around. These are the ones that people are engaging with the most.
Well, since you bring up co comfort, one of my favorite words. Do you know that? Yeah.
Again, if you want to call and join in the fun here, 866-348-7884.
So You know, Noah's name means comfort. Did you know that? No, I did not know that. Because he would comfort his people. In other words, here's a fascinating thing that is such a beautiful story, so to speak.
That Those letters in Hebrew is just a nun and a hey, and that just those two letters would be the same ones that when Isaiah would say, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, right? That idea of comfort and even the root of when the God of all comfort, you know, comforts us. And there's all these different places that that happens. And so you can't help but wonder: now, how did Noah, like, How did he comfort his people? I don't know if you've ever given this any thought, but it's kind of.
No, I haven't. I must say I haven't.
So tell us, Robbie.
Well, inside of Shem. was Jesus. Uh Right? In other words, if Shem hadn't made it on the boat. Yeah.
And you know, and from Shem on down the line through Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, all that came. But if no Shem. Right, then And so he would comfort his people that way. There's other... Things that, if you see the way that things happen, because Noah changed things, but no doubt.
But here's a beautiful thing that to me just blows my mind on the idea of comfort. Is that Again, the word of God is a the ultimate comfort because of the Jesus is the word, and when he came, there you go. But Noah spelled backwards. is just a H and an N sound, which is Hen, which is grace. Yeah well.
Now, who's the first person in Scripture to find grace in God's eyes? You guessed it, Noah. Mm-hmm. Right. The first time the word's used in Scripture, you guessed it, Noah.
And so grace has to do with favor. And if there's ever a clear indication of somebody being God's favorite in the Bible, you've got to get Noah because nobody else lived. Right, bye. I mean, obviously it was his kids and his wife, but those eight individuals, as the case may be, with the sister-in-laws, and I mean, the daughters-in-law and all that. But It's really kinda cool to think Wow, when you define it that way, that Noah was looking for the the only way he would find it grace in God's eyes as if He was looking for it.
And so I don't know if if you thought about looking for grace. in God's eyes. But part of the way that you can do that In my view, and in yours, Beverly, too, is in the scriptures, right? As you know these words, as you begin to know God, the more you know Him, you know. How to find favor in his eyes.
like a a secret. It's in there, like Prego spaghettis. Right, right. A prior engagement that you got to get to, which is the perfect time for you to call us 866-348-6. 7884.
How did you hide God's word in your heart? um that you would not miss him. That came through in your life in a big way. We would love to hear that story. Boy, would we love to hear that story?
Even if you have called several times, weren't able to get through, we would still love you to try one more time because who knows, maybe the phone system got straightened out. 866-3487-884, 866-34TRUTH. And when you think about it, is in Luke chapter 5, right? Speaking of the word touching somebody. You know, Peter had fished all night, as the case may be in Luke chapter 5 and caught nothing, right?
And Jesus had been teaching in his boat, and all of a sudden he gives Peter this crazy instruction, not unlike he gave Noah. He said, Put out into the deep water and let down your net, which at the time to Peter would have seemed like crazy because You know, that kind of fishing you do at night, that kind of fishing you do in shallow water. And by the way, this net was not made for deep water.
So, from Peter's standpoint, this did not sound like real good advice, especially since I fished all night and caught anything. And Peter responds like that, but then he says something magical. He says, Nevertheless, at your word. Again, speaking of God's word. Nevertheless, at your word, I will let down my man.
And um Because at his word, not only did Peter hear the word, He he didn't miss it. He he'd let it down. And when he did, right, He caught so many fish. That it nearly sank two of these boats.
Now, when you want to Galilee, Tammy, and I did last May. We saw these boats. Like, they're twenty eight feet long. Like, man, it would take a whole lot of fish, a whole lot of fish to to sink these boats. And so when you think about it, that Peter at his work.
Let down his nets. And so, as you begin to memorize scripture and you have this stuff in your heart, for that moment that you need it. At his word. Because again, you're taking him at his word as you read it, as you study it every day, as you fall more in love with it. And we know you're doing that through the Truth Network.
