Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right, let's talk the truth news! I can't hide it, I can hold it. A daily program powered by the Truth Network. This is kind of a great thing, and I'll tell you what.
Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together. Speak your mind. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host.
Well, good afternoon. Good Friday, you guys. It is Friday, and the fair is starting in Winston-Salem.
So go ahead and get your tickets to the Carolina Classic Fair. I'm sure it will be a lot of fun. The question of the day that we've got is this: Should Christians celebrate Halloween? Should Christians celebrate Halloween? And I've got Ephesians chapter 5, verse 11, and it says, and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness.
But it says, but rather reprove them. And so when I started off, I wanted to share a little bit. We've got a Daniel Merrill. Right here from he's got a he's got a there you go Daniel, but he's got a ministry that they work with the students over at Elon University and it and it's cross exchange now. What is the website Daniel?
It's www.crossexchange.org. CrossExchange and it's cross-c-r-o-s-s-x like the letter X exchange C-H-A-N-G-E dot org.
So make sure to check that out. They've been to our church several times. We've also got his friend Manuel here or Manuel. What's your last name, Manuel? Pittman.
Manuel Pittman. And these guys are apologists.
So, you know, when I wanted to talk about should a Christian celebrate Halloween, I said, I want to bring in these guys. And of course, I've got my good friend Jeff Hoover here as well. And Jeff Hoover, we go way back. He's met him at Wednesday in the Word. But the question for today is this.
Should Christians Celebrate Halloween? Should Christians celebrate Halloween? And so, as I was thinking about this this morning, I thought about the story about a frog and a scorpion who were actually the frog wanted to go across the river and he saw the scorpion there. And the frog was going to go anyways, but the scorpion said to the frog, He said, Listen, He said, I need a ride across the river so I can get to the other side. He said, Will you give me a ride?
And the frog said, No, no, I'm not gonna give you a ride. He said, If I give you a ride, he said, You're gonna sting me. He said, and then it won't go well for me. And the scorpion said, Of course, I'm not going to do that. He said, If I sting you, he said, Then we'll both drown.
So the frog thought about it for a minute and he said, You know what? You're right. And he said, So they started, he took him on his back. They were halfway across the river, and the scorpion stung the frog. And as the frog was going down and they were both dying because they, because the scorpion couldn't swim, the frog said to the scorpion, he said, Why did you sting me?
We're both going to die. And the scorpion said, Because I'm a scorpion. And so I wanted to let you guys know today that if somebody believes, Believes that there is another way to get to heaven other than Jesus Christ, that person would be a scorpion or a heretic. If somebody says, Hey, we're all going to heaven someday, we're all going to get there. It doesn't matter how, that person is a scorpion.
That person would be a heretic. If somebody's taking their kids for Halloween trick-or-treating, you're not damned. You're not going to hell. You're not a scorpion. But I believe what we're going to be talking about today is using wisdom.
using wisdom in this area and so I've got Manuel here. We were talking about it a little bit yesterday, Manuel. What are your thoughts? Should a Christian celebrate Halloween? Celebration of Halloween, absolutely not.
The nature of celebration is worship, and what we celebrate is what we're in the context of us giving praise and honor to. And so, if we're going to talk about praising Halloween or praising the gods or praising the spirits, there's a big problem with that.
Now, you know, if you're a Catholic and you're excited for the holiday happening the next day, All Saints Day, that's a different story. But even there, it's still the idea of praising the saints. And I say that as a problem. Protestant, I want to respect my Catholic brothers and sisters. If they say they'll not praise the saints, they're simply honoring and revering the saints.
But the idea that the saints come back and visit us and we want to give some kind of tribute to them in the eve thereof, I still have a huge problem with that because our renderance of praise and worship is only given to God alone.
So that's why I cannot even acknowledge it as all Saints Eve. And the other part of it, too, is I think my friend Daniel knows more about sorrowen, but I want to give it over to him for a moment to talk about why we cannot acknowledge it for the popular thing it has become and inspired for. Yeah, go ahead, Daniel. Yeah, so Sahween or Sahin, depending on its pronunciation, actually goes back to the Druidic worship practices of the ancient Celts in Britannia and what is modern-day Ireland. We find this religion and the practices thereof also found in other pagan cultures during that time period.
And it actually only became a recognized holiday in the U.S. because of the Irish immigrants that came over in the 1840s during the famine and really only became a legitimate holiday later on in the late 1800s because of the influence of the rise of Spiritism in the 1800s as a Acceptable practice in the American context. And so the practices that we see even today in its more popularized form, in its commercialized form, really go back to these ancient pagan practices, whether it's carving a pumpkin and putting candles in there, things of that nature. One can carve pumpkins, but if it's done in a certain way that is specifically done on Halloween, all Hallows' Eve or Salween, that it actually goes back and harkens back to the pagan practices of wanting those spirits to inhabit these vessels during this particular holiday. Yeah, so when I see why people would celebrate Halloween, and this is what I tell people as well, and this is why I say, you know, well, I was on my way to heaven, but in 2025, I took my kids' trick-or-treating, so now I'm going to hell.
No, that's not what I'm saying, okay? But what I am saying is this: there is wisdom in doing something or not doing something. And Anton LeVay, who actually started the Church of Satan, actually came out and said, He said, I'm glad, and I'm. Going, paraphrasing here, but he said, I'm glad that Christians at least one day a year will dress up their kids and worship the devil. And I thought that was a pretty serious thing for him to say.
But if you think about it, you look at all the shows on TV in the month of October and you look at what's going on, a lot of it is very dark. Have you seen that, Jeff? Oh, definitely. Uh The thing is though, I mean there's lots of uh The thing is what can that be redeemed? That's the situation.
It is definitely dark. It is definitely has a Um a background of evil.
So the thing is The big question for Christians is like other things that have the evil background, Can that be changed? Can it be redeemed?
So it's kind of like in Genesis 50, 20, where something happened, and he said, basically, people say the way today, they say that what the devil meant for bad, God can use it for good. And we were sitting down over in Burlington yesterday with Manuel and Daniel. And Stu Epperson, the owner of the radio station, it was a God thing, just happened to stop by, was in the area, and he got to meet you guys. And he said, you have to have them on the show. But what he said, he said, what you could do, he said, you could turn your light on.
When all the kids are out trick-or-treating, he said, because they're going to be doing that anyways, he said, you may give them a piece of candy and wrap it in a Bible verse.
So, in other words, something that the devil is using for bad, why not share the gospel of Jesus Christ? And we've got a Sandy from Charleston, South Carolina on the phone. Are you there, Sandy? I am and you couldn't have led into this to what I need to say any better than what you just said. Yeah, you are correct.
Mike, in layman's terms, we don't celebrate it because it is a pagan holiday designed to honor and serve Satan. The high day is what he calls it, the single most important day on his calendar. We have large covens of witches all across the world. And we are warned by the police departments to keep our pets in when we should be warned to keep our children in. Mm.
Um Sometimes they do sacrifices on this day of animals. They sometimes, not sometimes, they do. I'll just lay it out there. They sacrifice humans as well. Um When you were talking about Let's just go ahead and dress up and just turn our light on and give them candy with a Bible.
I'm gonna I'm gonna Say what I needed to say, and then I'll tell you what how I found out that wasn't right because I did that about seven years ago, and I got to speak with um. John Ramirez, ex-Satanist, about that, and he straightened me out on it. But renowned author Rebecca Brown speaks in several of her books about this. She was a writer who, at that time, she was a nurse practitioner, and she wrote this book when she was helping a woman trying to break out of Satan's hole. Hey, Sandy, I want you to hold that thought.
We're going to a break, and when you come back, we're going to let you share: should Christians celebrate Halloween? And I kind of like the angle you're going with this.
So we'll be right back. Looking forward to your calls. 866-34-TRUTH, 866-3423. 348-7884. We'll be right back.
Truth Talk Live You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. 866-348-7884-866-34 Tree. We want your calls. Should Christians celebrate Halloween and Sandy, they've got you down to Sandra, but I know you're Sandy. What were you saying about maybe giving up?
My God is Sandra, and everybody calls me Sandy.
Okay.
So, what were you saying before about, because I said Stu said. Renowned author Rebecca Brown, she was a nurse practitioner who tried to help a woman who was breaking free of Satan's hole. Turned out this woman was actually the wife of Satan, and she had a lot of knowledge. She's got two good books out on it. To set the cactus free and vessel of.
Best of honor.
So that but I'm going to go down to to get into ex-Satanist John Amirez. He warns Christian parents of the dangers of celebrating Halloween in any form. I know you mentioned founder of the Church of Satan, Antoine Louis. Yes, he did say, I want to thank every Christian parent for allowing their children to celebrate the devil one night of the year, Halloween. These are quotes, this is a quote from him.
Thank you for dressing up your kids. changing their identity in the spiritual and sacrificing their spirituality. Yeah, John Ramirez likes it to a one-night stand. We go celebrate we're in bed with the devil for one night. Um It's like, well, would you cheat on Jesus?
Jesus wouldn't cheat on you. I don't see any Satanists coming to the church on Sunday cheating on the devil. No way. John was one of the highest-ranking people. There are some who probably come, but they're there for nefarious reasons, right?
Right. And he just so you know who he is, people know who he is. He was one of the highest-ranking warlocks in the world. Many of his friends called him the son of Satan because Satan would astroproject into his room and they would plot how to destroy people, families and churches. But one giant night John had a near death experience and Jesus showed up.
And Jesus took him out of the realms of hell and he dedicated just life. to God at that moment. And John went back to his apartment and destroyed over $100,000 worth of paraphernalia, Satan paraphernalia in New York City. He was tormented terribly for thirty days, just to the brink of death, but didn't kill him. It didn't stop him from living his life for Christ, and he's the one out there sharing with us.
the knowledge he has. And he says we shouldn't celebrate Halloween, we shouldn't call it a harvest, we shouldn't do anything. The only thing we should be harvesting our souls for Jesus. I well, I personally spoke with John. I know him and I spoke with him.
And I told him about five, six, seven years ago, I can't remember when. I was proud of myself. I dressed up as a nun. I had little Bibles, I had crosses, and I had candy, and I had each, you know, everything in a little bag, and I was giving it out, and I had Christian music playing. And he said Um Sandra?
Take what I say as truth. I lived it, I know it, and it's real. God has called you to the ministry and the devil wants to stop you. You need to go back, repent. Rebuke, ask forgiveness, and cancel any assignments placed on you from that night.
So, um You're not damned. if you celebrate Halloween, but you. Not necessarily, right, Sandra? Yes, no. Not necessarily.
But you do you do open doors. You open doors in your you allow your children's doors to be open to the spiritual. Um the unseen And it's It's real. I have experienced it. I am a minister of deliverance.
I have experienced it. I see it all the time. And I can't stress enough to protect your children. Leave your dogs inside, but leave your kids inside too. Yeah, yeah.
Well, and that's good. Sandy, I want to thank you for the call. We definitely look forward to hearing from you again soon. We've got a James out of Roxborough, but I've got Ephesians 6:10, and it says, Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness and high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand and and James out of Roxboro should a Christian celebrate Halloween. Absolutely not. Deuteronomy chapter 18, 10, verses 10 through 12. Say that there shall not be found among you anyone that makes his son or his daughter pass through fire.
or that user Divination. observer of times or an enhancer or a witch or a charmer. or a consulter with built familiar spirits, or a wizard Or a necromancer. A necromancer is someone that communicates with the dead. Sam Hain was the um Celtic Belief or holiday festival where they actually Communicated with the dead and the whole.
thing about it is the that it unveiled Uh boundaries between The living and the dead. And then the Roman Catholic Church came along. and decided to encompass All of this. on what they call all Souls' Day and All Saints' Day. And the night before that, which is October thirty first, is called All hallows aimed.
But I the Roman Catholic Church. And they did that in order to blend The calculator faith uh Celtic belief in with Christianity so that they could say, oh, it's not as bad as it seems. But the Bible strictly said. Do not do these things. I didn't say it.
The Bible did, so if you have a problem with me, you don't have a problem with me. You have a problem with the Bible. Yeah, yeah, that's good. And James, I want to thank you for the call. And Daniel, what he was just talking about was the fact that necromancy, that we should not commune with the dead.
And in the Bible, there's actually a very clear case of where Saul, remember when Saul stopped hearing from the Lord. Go ahead, I'll let you. Yeah, so in the Old Testament, it talks about Saul not being able to communicate with the Lord because of his pagan practices. And so he actually previously had banned all the practices of the occult, but then actually seeks out someone to communicate with the dead. And in this account, he actually communicates with a spirit.
There's debate whether it's actually Samuel or whether it's a false spirit. But either way, in that particular situation, it's very clear that. the entity, whether it's the real Samuel or an entity proposing themselves as Samuel, condemns his practice and say you shouldn't even be doing this.
So the entity itself recognizes the severity of the situation. 1 Samuel chapter 28 for context. Yeah, and so when I was thinking about this, I heard about D.L. Moody.
Somebody came up to him and one of their practices, they would not go out and watch a movie. And somebody came up to D.L. Moody and said, hey, he said, you know, D.L. Moody said to him, hey, you should become a Christian. He shared the gospel with him.
And D.L. Moody said, you know, yeah, you should do that. And the guy said, no, no, no. I don't want to become a Christian because you guys can't go to the movies. And Moody said, No, I can go to the movies any time I want.
And the guy said, no, I thought you couldn't go to the movies because you're a Christian. He said, no, I can go to the movies anytime I want. I choose not to. Just like any one of us, we could go out, we could take our kids, we could go ourselves, and we could go celebrate Halloween. but we choose not to because we want to live in the light and not in the darkness.
I echo that when I think about the Apostle Paul when he said to abstain from certain meats if it would be a stumbling block to your brother. And I think that's very helpful when it comes to thinking about Halloween and if we're going to be participating in any kind of these fun activities with people that are Purposefully misunderstanding what this holiday is, I think it's very dangerous and it's a dangerous precedent to be engaging in those ways. Yeah, and one of the things when we become Christians is that we gain a lot. We gain new friends, we gain eternal life, thank God. We're grateful for the work that the finished work that Jesus Christ did on the cross.
But there are some things that we do have to give up. Is that right, Jeff? There are things that we have to give up. That's why I said the thing is. That we ha and definitely we're not supposed to be involved with any witchcraft or anything like this.
Of course, we're not supposed to be involved in all that. But the thing uh I mean, it goes back to You know, uh Can you Celebrate. Not you know can can you be involved Without doing those things, can you just dress up? Be, you know, you know, involve it. Jeff, we're going to a break.
So 866-34 TRUTH. We want your calls. 866-348-7884. We'll be right back. And we want your calls.
And James, are you still there? I am still here. All right, brother. I'm going to comment on Daniels and Jeff's statement, but evidently I wasn't heard.
Okay, alright. We'll be right back. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com.
Well, hey guys, we are back 866-34TRUTH. 866-348-7884. Should Christians celebrate Halloween? And I wanted to throw this out as well. When I was younger in my 20s, and I was already a Christian, I would go out.
Man, that was one of my favorite holidays. We used to have so much fun, we'd dress up. You know, go out and do stuff I won't talk about on the radio. But anyway, so we did a lot of stuff, but now that I look back on it, it's like I don't even miss it. You know, I heard somebody who was absolutely living in sin, living in all sorts of debauchery, and And somebody asked them, they became saved and they became a Christian.
And they asked him, they said, Do you miss that old life of sin that you used to live? And he said, no. He said, I took out the trash last Friday and I don't miss the smell of my trash. It's trash and it's nothing that we need to be a part of. But when we were on the break, The gentleman right here was, we were talking, Manuel, we were talking, and one of the things that he said was, and Jeff said as well, is it's not that we just need to sit there in our house, scared in a corner, not doing anything.
That there is a Christian holiday that happens on October the 31st. Is that right, Manuel? Correct. October 31st is Reformation Day. It is the day in which Martin Luther nailed the 95 thesis upon the post for news that people say the Catholic front door, but as more of a metaphorical part of it.
But he posted it on a news, you could say, kind of network, you could say. He posted that to say these are the complaints he has against the Catholic Church and that sparked the revolution that we know as Protestant Reformation. And acknowledging the joy that came from that of returning back to Scripture, returning back to the teachings of the apostles, calling the Catholic Church to true revival, that is a way better thing to acknowledge and praise God for than All Saints Day. Yeah, so it's not, so we praise the Lord. We pray.
We thank God for the saints who have gone before us. Daniel, what will you be doing this Halloween or this October the 31st? I'm sorry.
Well, actually, in the past, I'm not sure actually this 31st yet, to be completely honest, but actually in the past, I've actually gone out and witnessed. I've gone out to these Halloween festivals where Wicca and neopaganism is and where Satanist actually are and actually do street evangelism, give them tracks, share the gospel with them, share the hope of Christ with them.
Well, the Bible says that the light shines in the darkness and that the darkness will not overcome it. And I think sometimes, you know, you can go into a ditch on one of two sides. You can go into a ditch and say, hey, I'm going to live just like the world. I'm going to celebrate Halloween. I'm going to go out and do all the same stuff that the world is doing.
No, no, no, no, no. Come out of the world, be separate. But on the other side of it, I think there's people who are afraid of the dark. And what they don't realize is that the light. The Jesus Christ that we have in us is much more powerful than the darkness.
Is that right? Absolutely. The power of Christ overcomes all evil. Like the whole idea of what Jesus Christ did. I like what Dr.
Keith Evans, a Reformed Theological Seminary, said, that the true crucifix that dispels the demons was Jesus on the cross, and his resurrection was his conquering over death and Satan and evil. Yeah, and Jeff, the evil is nothing to be afraid of. And I know that you pray over different areas. You pray that God will release his angels to help us when we're witnessing, when we're sharing the good news. Tell us about that.
Well, the thing is that in Psalm chapter 24 it says, the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof. You know, so everything belongs to the Lord. Every day belongs to the Lord. Every land belongs to the Lord. There's nothing that is the devil's and we don't let him have anything.
And so, you know. I mean uh How you do that Is different but for different people in different ways. You know, as we're talking about this October 31st, I I was just telling that some people use it as uh evangelistic ways of basically trying to scare the hell out of people and uh you know and stuff like this. And at the end of uh churches' uh trails and stuff like this, uh that they spread, I mean, they give the gospel and all, and a gospel message. You know, I'm not saying anything is right or wrong.
I'm just saying that people do it in different ways and stuff. As long as, you know, I mean, we have trunk or treat. I've done that where I brought a globe out and let people pick a particular, spin the globe and put their finger on it and on a country and then had them pray for that particular country, you know, let the kid pray for that particular country. And then after we pray for that particular country, then They got a pe got a couple pieces of candy. And then they went to the next car, you know.
So that's what way I put my trunk or treat together. You know, you know, well, I guess, and I guess I would say this too: is if there's enough of us, if there's enough Christians who are not only not celebrating Halloween, but if there's enough Daniels out there who is going out and sharing the gospel, if there's enough Manuels and Jeff's and Mike's who are actually praying on this day, because there is a lot of darkness on this day, do you know? I mean, can you explain a little bit, either one of you, about the darkness of this original holiday? Sure, I'll speak to that.
So, yeah, like I was saying at the beginning of the program, the practice of worshiping our forefathers, the saints of old, whether it be departed spirits within the idea of Catholicism or the druidic religion of the ancient Celts, you find this idea of ancestral worship in different areas of the world at different points in history, whether it be in Japan or ancient Mesopotamia, like in the Old Testament, in the Canaanite religion, or you find it in the druidic religion of the ancient Celts.
Some of the different practices, like I was saying at the top of the program, that we think of today as more commercialized practices, like dressing up and giving out different gifts and practices on this day, is actually goes back to the ancient Celtic and pagan practices of old, where they would, like one of the callers shared, that this idea. Idea of the veil between the physical and the spiritual would be less, and that the spirits would, both good spirits and bad spirits, would be more. More acknowledged that day and be more acceptable to the communities, and they would put out different gifts and the harvest, the first fruits, if you will, of their crops. And so you see this both in the ancient Celtic culture and other pagan cultures. And if I could, real briefly, I just wanted to mention outside of just the ancient practices, we see in our modern time, even for myself and looking back in my own life, that These practices that we think of on Halloween are also celebrated throughout the year.
So the rise of Wicca and neo-paganism has inexplicably grown since the early 2000s with different programs that even I grew up watching, like Sabrina the Teenage Witch and other things like that, that throughout the year actually promote this, and then we give a particular day. Both in the churches and in the non-Christian community to celebrating something that really actually is foreign to the Christian religion. Yeah, there was a guy named uh Justin Noop who said that the the most dangerous thing that he saw was not uh it was not atheism or agnosticism. He said the most dangerous thing that he saw Was spirituality apart from Christ. Because what people are looking for is they're looking for something supernatural.
And so I think the problem is, is that when they see a lot of this stuff, and here's the problem, and I'm just going to be honest: that if you seek after these different religions or seek after Wiccan or you start worshiping the devil, you may have an experience. You might very well have an experience, but it's not of God. I think something that's really important when you think about these spiritual practices that are going on, we look at the Bible, and the narrative that the Bible gives us is one that the fallen gods, these angels, celestial fallen beings, are ruling the different nations. They rule the different locations and geographies. And so, the whole idea of worship, they've been seeking this self-worship for a long time, and they still seek that.
The whole idea of the kingdom of light, the kingdom of God, pushing back the kingdom of darkness, is a very real reality to our context. And it's very real in the narrative of scripture that it calls us to do. We go share the gospel, we reclaim somebody from a fallen God and claim it to the true God, the God of all, the creator of all, the one who loves them and cares about them. That is a spiritual and physical act that is beautiful and powerful. And I think this is a day that we should acknowledge that.
Spiritual evil is Real and it's coming at us. But we also serve a God who has a power. over death and evil altogether. Amen to that. Amen to that.
And so you guys actually go out, you hit the streets of Elon University, is that right? Yes. And the website, again, is CrossX, like the letter X, crossexchange.org, crossexchange.org, if you guys want to get involved. But, you know, when you meet people, you meet all sorts of people. You meet atheists, agnostic.
Have you actually interacted with people of some of these different religions that were very dark, either one of you? I'll go first and then I'll turn it over to Manuel. Yes, we definitely have, both in the university context and outside of that. We've engaged with Wiccans, any various forms of neopagans, Satanists, all the above. We actually, one of the professors at Elon, it's public information, so I feel like it's okay for me to share, that I've actually engaged with outside of her.
professional career as a professor is also professionally has a business as a as a witch as a a spiritist to actually for profit actually goes and meets and do tarot reading uh tarot card readings and other forms of communicating with the fallen uh spirits of old and so both to the students that we're engaging with and their various beliefs, but also those on the professional level in different arenas that we engage in. Yes, we have definitely encountered the whole gamut of both ancient pagan religions of the past as well as more modern religions like the Temple of Satan and such things as that. I think I'll mention one. One encounter that really brought to realization of the fact that it's worldviews that we are battling with was my first encounter with someone from the Hindi faith, the Hindu faith. And it was just interesting talking with her.
The second I talked to her about the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was all about the love of God, the love of community, love of people. But when I told her about the resurrection of Jesus, she could not comprehend that. And it blew my mind of how I'm talking with her of like everybody I mainly talk to, they understand the i the idea of death. And so they understand the idea of life.
And even though it's a radical idea, the idea of resurrection at least can make sense comprehensibly. But she could not comprehend that. Why? Because in Hinduism, the whole idea of after death is reincarnation. They have a version of resurrection, but it's your spirit going into a brand new body.
And so she was thinking about the resurrection of Jesus. She was wondering what the new body is and where's he at now. And then I realized that the faulty part of Trying to comprehend where she's coming from, resurrection really is, even in the ancient world, a radical idea. And so I think when you engage with different people on campus or even around campus, it's several different ways of understanding the universe we're engaging with. And that's where I find I was mentioned earlier to mister Zwick was the idea that we must begin in Genesis for Worldview.
Absolutely. We got a Sandy Hightower back on the phone. I'm sure she's actually in the deliverance ministry, so she sees this stuff. Firsthand, but we'll be right back 866-34 Truth, 866-34 Truth. Check out CrossX.
CrossExchange.org, crossexchange.org. They are reaching the folks over at Elon University. We'll be right back. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com.
All right, we are back for our last segment. I want to thank Jeff Hoover. I want to thank Daniel. And I also want to thank Manuel as well for coming in. But we've got a Sandy.
She's calling back from Charleston, South Carolina. And Sandy, you're in the deliverance ministry.
So you see a lot of this stuff firsthand. Is that right? I am definitely in the deliverance ministry. The Lord led me there four years ago, and He has totally changed my life. my views on things like Halloween.
Um you know, I I just want to say that We can't be lukewarm about it. We have to understand it as real, but we don't can't live in fear because fear not said the Bible 365 times, it's one for every day. We don't fear. We go out, we put on our armor, like you said.
Well, I always put on the armor of Jesus found in Romans. Uh, before I put on my armor, I put it on like a chain mail. And then I put my armor on because we have to be prepared. But this As a deliverance minister, I know that souls are gotten through doors that are opened, and doors are opened when you Put on the costumes. Doors are open when you celebrate in any way, shape, or form.
And That the candies and the costumes and everything that's in the stores. Mark my word, they have all been hex, sex, cursed or spells or incantations placed over them. And even if you just go in to buy a bag of candy, and I'm not scaring you, I'm just saying pray over it, okay? There's nothing that they do that we can't undo because they copy God. We follow God.
But pray over it because it has been hexed, it has been hexed, it has been cursed, and people that don't know what they don't know. cannot protect themselves.
So that's why it's important that everyone knows this holiday is not of God. It is a day to celebrate Satan for his people, and he looks forward to it and he uses it to his every advantage. Protect your children. Pray over them. Pray over yourself.
Pray over your home. We are at war. This is a war, and it's not going to get any easier it's going to continue to get harder. We are, in my personal opinion, in the end times. And we're going to see things escalating quickly.
And I just want to say that I love everybody that's within range of my voice so much. that I need them to know, if you're going to go do this, you better protect yourself. I say don't do it. Don't put your children or yourselves out there. In a position where a spirit can come into you, because the only way To get that spirit out is through God and through deliverance, whether He chooses to do it to you all at once at the altar, or He has someone like me come in and do a one-on-one that could take anywhere from one.
to 12 hours or more. We'll dig at it, we'll get it done. I've seen things, guys, I cannot even begin to describe it, would make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. Be faithful to yourself, be faithful to God. and be faithful in prayer.
Prayer, prayer, and more prayer. In Jesus' name. Yeah, what what you said you've seen some stuff. What's one of the more dramatic stories that you've seen, Sandy? Uh Okay.
Well, in deliverance. I have uh I've seen people Um manifest in ways where there is Claws coming out of their arms where they're crawling on the ground like a snake, and the snake comes out of their mouth. Not everyone can see this. I am blessed to be a seer. I have I've seen a 12-year-old girl in the front row of a church manifest so badly that she had to be.
gently restrained and then three spirits come out of her and her gets such freedom that every day now she flags and worships Jesus because she knows she's free. I I have stories of Um women I have prayed for who couldn't even get up out their rooms and go Go work there, they had all kinds of depression and everything else, and we and we pray-I call it praying for its deliverance. And within a week's time, she was in a job doing her job. I just I've seen signs, wonders and miracles. I've seen people's arms grow out, their legs grow out.
I've seen people walk that couldn't walk. I've seen the blind get healed. It is the ministry of Jesus. And some of the demonic things are just not worth telling because they're scary. But I'm not scared.
I take my spiritual authority over all evil, and I walk out this door every day with the armor of God and my warring angels behind me. the lion of Judah beside me, and I am not fearful. But I am aware and I keep my eyes open at all times. And I pray. I bind the strong man in everyone that I come in contact with, and I claim no transference from anyone or anything.
And Jesus and I go out and do my day. Amen. Amen. Yeah, and we were sitting with Stu Epperson yesterday. Do you remember the verse that he said it was his verse for this radio station?
Do you remember? And you shall know the truth. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free. John 8:32. I've got another verse because we're not supposed to live in fear, but it says in Isaiah 54, 17, it says that.
How many weapons formed against you? No weapon formed against you. No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper. And every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment, thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.
And I love Romans chapter 8, but Romans 8:37, it says, Nay, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Man, well, I get excited about that. Amen. I think that's the only hope we have completely in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, that he is the one that does that.
I want to thank the person online or on this phone call, Sandy. Thank you so much for some of the work that you've been able to minister to certain people with, and especially when it comes to the idea that. That understanding the spiritual realities are important to be able to understand and navigate. And when it comes to seeking to help those that are under the binds of those spiritual forces, it's just truly good to know that others are trying to join in that fight. We may disagree on how we fight in that fight, but I wanted to thank you for your service.
Yeah. And, Daniel?
Well, thank you. I appreciate that. And I wanted to thank you guys for what you're doing on the college. That means a lot. Um professors or or the professionals in that college touch the students of that college.
And so if there's There's ways to pray. And move that the sanctity of witchcraft out and the love of Jesus in. Praise God. Yeah, and Daniel? Yes, I wanted to thank you as well for the work that you're doing.
And as just a An experience in my own life. One of the important things is when we look at the scriptures, we think about it, it talks about the importance of Jesus and His name and the authority of the Word. But in my own experience of ministering to people both at Elon and outside of Elon, is We think about that, and some infrequently we talk about it, but seeing it actually work in real time is something that we sometimes may not always see as well as we should. And in my own experience, I've worked and ministered to people that had, like yourself, Miss Sandy, who were bound in demonic forces and really. praying over them the scriptures and calling on the name of Jesus, just the importance of that when it says about the authority that the word has over the kingdom of darkness, just the importance to all those listening that when you or any of us that are listening right now have those forces come against us, whether it be those that we're ministering to or those spirits coming against us, trying to distract us, derail us, tempt us, about the authority that the word has, just like Jesus when he was in the desert and Satan came after him, thus says the Lord, and he that the and it rebuked the Lord back or rebuked Satan back.
Yeah, that's good. And so I wanted to share with you guys: yes, we don't want to celebrate Halloween. We don't want to engage in the darkness that the world is engaging in. But I also want to let you know, if you've done it in the past, the Bible says that there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Jesus Christ, to those who walk according to the spirit and not according to the flesh.
So I wanted to say, you don't need to shame yourself. You don't need to feel bad about it. You just don't have to do it anymore. You know, I mean, you know, we've all messed up. The Bible says that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
But it says in Romans 6, 23, it says that the wages of sin is death. It says, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. I'll tell you about an experience that I had. I was a Christian at the time, but I was living in sin. And I took a woman back to the place where I was living.
And we ended up hanging out. And so we were finished up or whatever. And I'm telling you, I will never forget this as long as I live. We went out, we sat on the couch, and I was there. And all of a sudden, the fireplace that was locked, literally could not move, started opening and closing on its own.
There were these sounds all over the room. I felt fear before. I've never felt fear like that before in my life. And so I just, I wish I would have said something or done something. But the girl that I was with, I guess, was a Christian as well.
And she realized that we had messed up. This is what she did. She said, Lord, forgive us. And I'm telling you, as soon as she said that, All the noises stopped. The thing that was open, the fireplace that was opening and closed shut and didn't open again.
I'm telling you what, yes, we stay away from sin. We don't want to participate in things like Halloween. But there is power in the blood. There is power in the blood of Jesus. And the Bible says, it says that if we ask the Lord to forgive us of our sins, he will forgive us of our sins.
But Sandy, you know what else he says? He says, and I will remember them no more.
So in other words, let's say we had an abortion when we were, a woman had an abortion when she was 23, and she truly repents and asks the Lord to forgive her, the Lord to forgive her of what she did. And she says, God, I just feel bad about this abortion that I had that I... that I asked, that I repented of. And the Lord says, well, I don't remember that abortion. Yeah, I got a kid in heaven with your name on it, but I don't remember that abortion.
We serve an awesome God. We serve a God who loves us. We serve a God who cares about us. We serve a Jesus Christ who died on the cross, but he didn't just die on that cross. Man, well, you talk about how he rose from that grave.
Is that right? Yes, the resurrection is a pivotal part of the gospel. I've noticed so many times in evangelism, even myself when I first started out, that we sometimes. focus so much on the death of Christ, you forget. The resurrection is the whole reason we trust that his death means anything to us.
And what his resurrection proved is his power over death. When I go to funerals and you see people die, they have no hope, but we have hope in resurrection power because of Christ's resurrection. Definitely. I want to thank you guys for listening. My show, If Not for God, with Mike Zwick, will be on tomorrow.
The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 15: it says, Oh, death. Where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? In other words, when you surrender your life to Jesus, we don't have to fear. Hey, pray for October 31st.
Celebrate Jesus. God bless you.
