Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. It's Friday. July the 25th, we are getting closer to Christmas. You've probably seen advertisements in July, Christmas in July.
Well, When we think about Christmas, We think about wise men. Coming to see Jesus and I I guess they came on camels.
Well, camels are found in the Bible and It's from a cam from the camels that we learn a very important lesson about how we ought to approach life. I come from the story In Genesis 24, where Abraham's servant was looking for a wife for Isaac. And I don't know if you're familiar with this story, but Abraham has sent his servant to go back to his hometown where he could. Find for Isaac a wife. And when the servant got there, it said, Lord, how am I supposed to know?
How am I supposed to know? And he said, here's the test, Lord. There's going to be a woman. Help me out, Lord. There's going to be a woman.
She's going to come. She's going to see me. And when she sees me, she's going to offer me water. But she's also going to. Say, let me not only give you water, but I will also give drink to your camels.
And the servant said, Lord, let that be the one. And sure enough, when he gets to the town, there's this woman, Rebecca. She comes out, and Rebecca. Is going to be so hospitable. Let me get some food for you, some water for you, but let me also water your camels.
She said, I will draw water for your camels also until they have finished drinking. This is Genesis 24:19. Then she quickly emptied the pitcher into the trough, ran back to the well to draw water, and drew for all his camels.
Now, when I see a camel, I think about this story. Here's a woman. who did more than was expected. She did more than was expected. And there's a principle that I would teach at Liberty to students called and.
Then some. A T S and then some do more than people expect. Yeah. It's going to get their attention. It's going to get their attention of your diligence and your being responsible.
And it's from the camels.
So when you see camels, think about someone who does more than is expected. And then some. Do you have an and then some mindset? That comes from the camels.
Now, there's also probably. You're going to see around you a deer. You know, unfortunately, I've had a few that got too close to my vehicles. But I will tell you, I love seeing a deer. I'm reminded about the deer that David said, he makes my feet like the feet of deer and sets me on my high places.
Habakkuk said, the Lord God is my strength. You might want to write this one down. Habakkuk 3.19, the Lord God is my strength. He will make my feet like deer's feet and he will make me walk on my high heels. Deer have feet that allow them to be very stable as they climb.
And you know what? As you trust God, as you rely on God, as you obey God, your feet become very firm and you can go higher and do more for God. Through his A work in your life. He strengthens you. Look at a deer and think, Lord, I want to have those firm, I want to have firm footing, firm footing.
God brings to your life. A security that comes from again your obedience and the prayer, Psalms. seventeen five Uphold my steps in your payaths And you know what the payoffs of God are? He leads us in paths of righteousness for his namesake.
Now, I'm still looking for your calls. 866-348-7884. Macy called earlier, and she was a little nervous, but boy, she told us the truth about the Jiraef. You know, a couple of. Animals that I like to refer to, not found in the Bible, but they remind us of great truth.
You know about the goldfish. And maybe you have an aquarium there in your house, a goldfish bowl in your house. I always, for many years, kept a goldfish there at my dorm room, where in my apartment, in my home, because. You could always see that goldfish. And the lesson from the goldfish is that You're being watched.
You're being watched and um You need to be an example. And I think sometimes we forget that Um our testimony is on display. even in the bad moments. Uh we can lose. Uh credibility.
And um I I had to remind myself over and over, God has called You to be an example. Paul told Timothy, be an example to the believer. And the goldfish reminds me of how important it is to be a good example. Lifestyle Teaches more than lips teach. And parents, you need to have that mindset of being a goldfish with your children.
They're watching. They're watching how you handle the difficulties of life, the pressures of life. They're watching how you treat each other.
So learn from the goldfish. There's also a lesson that can be learned from the elephant. Um I I think one of the saddest things It's like if you go to a circus, you can find a a a huge elephant. tied to a stake, by a a short rope And you know, looking at that elephant, if that elephant wanted to, It could just break away. But there's something about an elephant's mind, it remembers the past.
too well. When an elephant is small an owner will break the elephant by tying it to a stake that it can't break away from. And then later on, it just keeps remembering that rope holds me. And folks, we can't be tied to our past. We need to learn from an elephant that we have been forgiven.
Our paest is in the paest. Jesus takes our sins. And puts it in the deepest of seas. And in the deepest of sea, it's buried, it's gone. And he puts up a sign, no fishing there.
But an elephant, its memory is so strong, it allows its past to defeat its future. And you don't want that to happen. Learn a valuable lesson from the elephant.
Sometimes we'll see a flock of geese flying over. You know, the lesson from the geese is that they're flying in a formation that allows them to fly with. ease but there's one you know always out front that's that's that's breaking the air well that that geese doesn't stay up front if you follow a flock of geese long enough you'll see the one that's flying out front at some point is going to rotate to the back and another one moves to the front they rotate the one that's going to be in the front and you know what the one in the back is doing It's honking. Have you ever had a flock of geese fly over you? You hear they're making noise.
What they're doing is giving encouragement to the one in front. And from the geese, we learn a valuable lesson of how important it is to give encouragement to one another. And as you go into this weekend, be like the geese, give encouragement to other people. As you come to church on Sundays, you see your friends. Give a word of encouragement.
Great lessons that come from animals. As you are. thinking about animals you might see in your back yard. You might see a crow, Or a group of crows. Um The Ravens Tremendous lesson from Psalms one forty seven, verse nine.
He gives to the beast his food and to the young ravens which cry. God provides food for the crows. And and this reminds us of the power of prayer. When when I Crow is crying out for food. God hears them.
Listen, when God hears you, I want you to hear this as we're moving closer now to the end of our program. Lessons from animals, lessons from a crow. When you hear that crow making that noise, it's crying out. Listen, when you cry out to God, he hears you. And God is not only able to meet your needs, he's willing to meet your needs.
You just got to call on him. You got to, like a crow, say, Lord, I need you to meet my needs. There are a hundred and some animals found in your Bible. Many of them give tremendous lessons. And I hope you'll take time when you see an animal to think about a Bible verse and what lesson God wants you to learn from them.
It's been my joy to be with you today. Check us out at faith the word.com. Have a wonderful weekend.
