Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right, let's talk the truth news. I can't hide. A daily program powered by the Truth Network. This is kind of a great thing, and I'll tell you what.
Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together. Speak. Mind. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host. There is nobody like this this guy.
That's what the announcers kept saying during this week's Baseball all-star game, and it got Dr. Date the word Carson and myself thinking. Who are the all-stars, right, of the Bible? Who are the ones that God Himself pointed to and said, There's nobody like this guy. There's nobody like this gal.
There is nobody. Who would you nominate? Like, what when you're thinking about that? Like. Who would you say, from God's perspective, there was nobody like this guy or this gal?
And there's certainly been plenty of gals. 866-348-7884. 866-348-7884. Who would you nominate to God's All-Star team? And so, you know, we're building God's All-Star roster, and we can't do that without your phone calls.
We need you to call us, 866-348-7884. Let's celebrate the ones heaven calls great because around here, the truth always gets the mic. And speaking of the truth, we've got Dr. Date the word. This is a great idea to get this lineup.
Yes, I was listening to those announcers on Monday, and they just kept saying there's no one like This person. And that got me thinking, and you and I then talked. We're looking at scripture, and all of a sudden, you see there's a number of people that God says there was no one like God. This person.
So we're stirring your minds up out there, and we want to hear what you think. Job, for instance, here's God having a conversation with Satan. And he says to Job, Have you cons he said to Satan, have you considered my servant Job that there is none like him? on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who feared God and shuns evil. God is bragging on Job.
And I go, this has to be an all-star. There's no one like him. Because that's what the announcer said. If you're an all-star at MLB baseball, No one's like this person.
So here's biblical people. Who do you think would be a great all-star on God's roster? There's no one like, and why? Because ultimately, Robbie, when we look at these all-stars, throughout the years, there have been all-stars who told how they went to an all-star game. And they saw a player, their hero, and they were inspired by them.
And why do we look at biblical characters? Why does the write of Hebrews give us Hebrews 11 with a hall of faith so that we can be inspired? Encouraged by how they live, we could live these kinds of lives.
So, as you think about who you would nominate for an all-star, think about what that character is. What really stands out that grabs your attention? Right. We would love to hear it. 866-348-7884.
866-348-7884. You know, there's so many to choose from, but it's really, really fun to begin to, you know, ponder these things and and and see some of those, you know, lesser-known characters that were kind of between the lines. Um that there were several in the book of Esther that just got word To different people that certain things were happening. But without that guy, without that gal, those carriers. had to get the message hastily.
So that people could save, have their lives saved. And unsung heroes. But boy, they made a difference. And I think one of those, okay, since we can, I can play.
Okay. I can play. Yes, you can.
So if I'm not mistaken, but you probably know right off the top of your head, I think it was a Heathophil. Who was the runner?
So the story is that King David's son Absalom essentially got shishkappabbed. By Joab. Yes, he is. He was hanging by his hair out in the woods. Yes.
And at this point in time, he was hunting down David to try to take his throne, right? Yes, he is. And Joab kills him. And so. You know, Joab is going to send a runner to tell King David that essentially they've won the battle.
And if I'm not mistaken, his name was Hephael. I want to go, I want to go, pick me, pick me, pick me. I always picture it like, pick me, pick me. And he goes, no, no, no, no, no. No, this is going to be bad news for the king because his son's dead.
So we're not going to send you because he'll know that's good news. And we don't want to break his heart. You know, we need a bad news runner.
Now, you know, we need a bad news runner. A bad news runner doesn't look like he's not coming with good news, okay? And I've often thought about this in connection with your feet fitted with the gospel. Right, which means good news. And so when you see this person running, are you expecting them to bring good news?
Are they bringing something like, man, this ain't good?
Okay. And so, you know, of course, and I can't remember the name of the other guy who goes running, but if I recall it, is a Heath felon. He sends the other guy out running. And you know, after he gets a ways up the road, oh, heathfell still staring, pick me, pick me, I gotta go, I gotta go, I gotta run.
So naturally, Joab goes, Well, this guy got a 20-minute head start. There's no way you're gonna catch him.
So go ahead. You wanna run? You go ahead. Right. And he and he outruns a dude.
And he's still the first one.
So up on the up out on the the the You know, they're at the fort where David is hanging out. There's a guy that's standing up over the wall looking, and he goes, Oh, there's a runner coming from the battle. And he goes, Who is it? And he says, Oh, it's a Heath Philip. He goes, Oh, that's a good man.
He's bringing good news. Yeah. Right? That man wouldn't that be cool when people saw you coming? Right?
Because you want to, you know, your all-star team has got to be somebody that. That when they see you coming, they're thinking, oh, this is good, man. He's he's this is good, man. He's going to bring good news. Did I get the name right, or did I totally think of somebody else?
No, you got it right. Hiffael. Yes. Um He ran so fast. I love what you just brought out.
Here's a guy that would. You know, when you see some people coming, I mean, you're so glad to see them. There's other people, when you see them leaving, you're so glad they left. We want to be the one when someone sees you coming, like, here comes someone that's going to bring me joy, they're going to bring me pleasure, this is going to be encouraging. This is not going to be the next 20 minutes of a drain on my life.
We call them VDPs, very draining people. We don't want to be that.
So, here's one of your all-stars, Robbie. I love your all-star. Not exactly the best-known guy in the Bible, but nonetheless, I always thought he, you know, his enthusiasm and the fact that. That man not only, you know, Did David know that? But interestingly, David also called the second runner a good man.
He's a good man. He brings good news, but he didn't. He didn't bring good news. Not from David. And David was heartbroken.
And there is a side story here. We'll run that rabbit trail real quick. That when David did find out that Absalom had died, he became very depressed. Upset Joab. And Joab had to confront David.
Hey buddy, you're the king.
Now act like it. And the Swindahl, Chuck Swindahl, brings this point out. The cause. is greater than your pain. And sometimes in ministry, you get hurt by someone.
But you can't let that affect doing God's work. And even though David was hurt, I have said many people have done ministry While hurting, and you have to step back in there. Joeb said, you are the king.
Now do your job and welcome these soldiers back. Because it sure seems like right now you wish the one who wanted to kill you would have been brought back alive and we would have been killed.
So who is on, you know, you've got an all-star list of people that Bible heroes for you personally, or, you know, whichever. 866, the number to call in and share, which I'm so excited you're going to do that. 866-348-7884. We can all learn something cool by what you know. 866-348-7844.
Seven eight eight four. We'll be right back. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. There's nobody like this guy. We are looking at the Bible all-star list today on Truth Talk Live.
as truth always gets the mic, right? And we're hoping that you in fact, I I can hardly wait until you call us at 8663-48-7884 and tell us who in the Bible inspired you. Like You saw this and you realized, wow, this is how maybe I should live my life. You know, maybe it. You know, j Joshua would be a common person.
Person along those lines, or maybe you just know others that God said there's nobody like this guy. And I would love to know who's on your list: 866-3666. 3487884. And I would also point out that your call would give somebody else courage to call because one call seems to get another and another and another. And so you can start a run just by having the courage to dial that.
866-348-7884. So, actually, you know, notes aside, when you think about it, Dr. Carson. And your personal, like. Dr.
Date the Word Carson self, date the word.com. Like, who is the guy? Yeah, there's nobody like this guy.
Well, I pull it right from the scriptures. I'm shocked. 2 Timothy, 2 Kings. 18, 5, 2 Kings 18, 5, God says this about Hezekiah. He trusted in the Lord God of Israel, so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor who were before him.
And I think about Hezekiah. He's one of those great unknowns. We hear his name here and there, but he just kind of filtered. He's just kind of in there. Hezekiah trusted God.
Um when The Assyrians wanted to attack and destroy him, and they made fun of him for trusting God. And he fell on his face before God. He had the letter that they had sent to him to surrender. And he laid it before God. And Isaiah is with him, the prophet, and in the day of trouble.
Hezekiah said, God, We can't do anything. We've done what we could do, but we can't survive this. We've got to have you. And so then God would give this kind of description. No one ever trusted God like Hezekiah.
So if you're looking for a biblical character to inspire you on how to trust God in the day of trouble, that's what it's called, 2 Kings 19. And then 2 Chronicles 32:1 said, After these deeds of faithfulness, Sennacherib attacked.
Well, here's Hezekiah, who's been faithful, doing what's right. We think once you're doing what's right. Things right and you're faithful, you don't have any trials. No, all of a sudden, he had the biggest trial. Here comes an army that no one was able to stop.
And the guy that was in charge of it, he was proud of the fact, you know what we did to all these other countries and their gods?
Well, we will do the same thing to you, Hezekiah, and your God. And Hezekiah's like, God, did you hear what he said about you? Yeah, right, baby. God, he says you're not able. And then the angel was sent out, and it says 185,000 Assyrians found out they were dead the next morning, gone.
And Hezekiah had a tremendous victory.
So that's my first all-star of one of many. And I had the absolute joy of not only walking through Hezekiah's tunnel onto the city of Jerusalem, but the idea that he built this thing right in the day of his trouble and through solid granite. It's one of the, to me, one of the wonders of the world. Is what Hezekiah did. But we got Mike, who is in Dayton, Ohio, and he has one for us.
And I love his choice. I can already see it, but I'm going to let him say it himself.
So, Mike, you're on Truth Talk Live, buddy. Who is your all-star?
Well, my all-star is Jonathan. There's nobody like this guy. Oh my gosh, there isn't. I mean, can you imagine being the king's son and didn't have to shoot some arrows to warn David to get out, you know, here we come? uh and then not get in trouble from your your from your dad.
Um His dad was furious with him. Yeah, it's just. He inspires me. I mean, it just, it just. You know, he's really, um Bold.
No, he was. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. He's so bold to say, oh, I'm not going to listen to my dad because God is telling me to. Give warning shots out to David.
And then that way he won't be captured. You know what I mean? Am I thinking that right? Oh, you are. And I got to tell you, you know, he was the one that took on all that Philistine garrison, went up the hill with just his armor barrel.
Let's see what God may do. I mean, dude.
So we ate a little honey afterwards. I mean, it was not a. I'm going to study this a little more after we get done talking, you know, because. And I've got to tell you something that's really, really, really cool about Jonathan's name.
Well, please do. You might know that in Hebrew, obviously, or maybe not obviously, there was a lot of John's in the New Testament that this was a popular thing. But in in the In the Old Testament, his name is like grace upon grace. Grace upon grace. Johan, you know, that you can hear the.
The yud and then that idea of han, that H N sound is grace. And you can hear that it's John Athan. In other words, it's it's grace upon grace. And I just think that when you think about the favor that David found in Jonathan's eyes, and Jonathan found in David's eyes, that this was a friendship that obviously. you know, will last on into eternity and something that Don't you think it's beyond cool, Mike, when you think about it, that arguably John and Jesus were best buds.
Right, right. And to mirror the son of David and his namesake, John. No. Yeah. I I I you know, I always I always thought, well, I wanted to be uh A man after God's own heart, but man, after reading through that, I said, Man, maybe I just want to be a Jonathan.
You know what I mean? you know, just be faithful and uh you know Uh you know, uh I d you not everyone could be as uh giant killer but you know Jonathan is needed a lot of times, you know. And he did. He had that ability to recognize. What God was up to.
Saul, his dad didn't recognize that. And I turned to the passage that you were talking about, and I have it underlined and starred in my Bible about how Saul's anger was aroused against Jonathan. He called him a son of a perverse, rebellious woman. I mean, he is so mad at Jonathan for putting David where God wants David to be. And that just shows you how out of touch Saul was.
Right. And then Jonathan wasn't, you know, um, he was You know, it's it's it's it's It's an amazing story and it well it's not a story, it's amazing truth. that uh you know that you just read across and And how God this uh this was an i In char not in charge, but just led people's lives and how they just. Lit their heart and to follow God. And I just want to be a Jonathan.
There you go. I love it. I do love it. You're awesome, man. Thank you, Mike.
I appreciate it. God bless. How about you? Who's your. Hero.
Who's who's there? There's nobody like this guy. 866-348-7884. 866-348-7884. Maybe it's.
the centurion, you know? A lot of people you know, God It's amazing. One of the people Jesus commended about their faith. Maybe it was no one had faith. I've never seen faith in all of Israel like this man.
Right? He's got to be on the list. And the woman with the crommy table? Yeah. She wanted Jesus to heal her daughter.
And he's like, no, I can't do that right now. Yes, you can.
And even he says, I don't give to the dogs. He said, well, the little puppies, what about crumbs for the puppy? 866-348-7884. Who's your guy? Who's your gal?
866-348 7884. We'd love to hear from you. We'll be back with a whole lot more. Truth Talk Alive. Truth talks.
You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. There's nobody like this guy. Who in the Bible would you put on God's all-star team is that we heard from The all-star game this week, the baseball all-star game. Dr. Carson kept hearing him repeat this phrase over and over again: man, there is nobody like this guy.
But in the Bible, there's maybe nobody like this gal, right? And I know you got somebody on your list. I would love to hear it. 866. I really do.
I love these stories. I love to think about these characters. I love the word. 866348. 7884-866-348.
Seven eight eight four You know, Robbie, one of the greatest compliments ever given was to a woman. Jesus complimented Mary of Bethany. Right. Here's this woman that's being criticized. By the disciples, not the Pharisees, not the heathen Roman soldiers.
His disciples are criticizing her because she has shown extravagant love, an expression of extravagant love by pouring out this ointment. And she broke an alabaster jar, expensive, and poured it all over him. And Jesus said, I want you to know something. Wherever the gospel is preached, people are preaching. people will tell her story.
Because this is what Genuine, extravagant love looks like. She's a role model. And you guys are picking on her. I just want you to know I compliment her. Mary, thank you.
You prepared my body for burial. And so Mary Bethany is definitely on my list of God's all-stars. That's so cool. How about you? I know you're thinking of somebody.
You know, a neat story: 866-348-7884-866-348-7884. You know, Hannah. Oh. Hannah, when you when you think about You know, I was telling you earlier today that she's the one that stands out to me because, you know, God honored her as to be the first person to use the word Messiah in the Bible, as she would be the mother of the man that would anoint. King David as king.
An amazing opportunity who came kind of from out of nowhere. It wasn't like. You know, she was A Levite and all this other, you know, interestingly, it was he was. you know, Samuel was from the sons of um Oh man, it escapes me right this second. The sons, they wrote several of the Psalms.
The sons of. What was that? I've drawn a blank. No, it was the guy who fell in Exodus that, you know, the. Earth opened up and everybody came down.
It was one of the sons of Korah. Korah. Yes, one of the sons of Korah. It was Korah's rebellion that, you know, she kind of goes, well, how did exactly this work out? But all the sons of Korah were not destroyed.
And so those sons of Korah, so it wasn't like she was from the upper class of Israel, like being a son of Korah. Like, really, well, she's obviously a daughter of Korah, as the case may be. And yet. Right? She goes into the Temple courts and she's praying.
And then, you know, she's rebuked by the high priest. Like Eli comes in there, like, don't come in here, drunk woman. He really blew that one. Talk about bad characterization. No, no, I am not drunk.
I'm just, my soul is full of anguish. I'm just hurting. I want a child, so bay it. And, you know, there's things in life we do want, and it hurts not to have it. And because this is 1 Samuel 1:10, and she was in bitterness of soul and prayed to the Lord, and she wept in anguish.
And here's this woman who's going to pray at such a depth. I don't know if I've ever gotten there. I've wanted to, but for God to write of me that I wept with anguish over something, and then she gets the prayer answered. And she's going to have a son named Samuel. And like you said, he will anoint King David.
And I think it's in her song, Second. Samuel Uh no, first Samuel s The second chapter, verse 10, it says, My soul exalts the horn of his anointed. And that's where the Messiah comes from. That's the word right there. That's the word right there.
And he does exalt the horn, and it's interesting that it happens through. And then, you know, not only does she have that moment, right? That, that, that. But then. How many women do you know would just, you know, well, I told God I was going to commit this boy to the Lord, and so when it comes time to wean him.
Yeah. Yeah, whatever that is, three or four years old, you're going to take a ride over to the temple and drop off your son? Your own that you... longed and longed and longed for to have this child. Yeah.
And then, how do you walk away from? And you know, the kind of character she had, and the kind of love that she had, and obviously the kind of passion she had. And yet You know, there that is. And you can just marvel at it. But you know, it's really cool.
I told Dr. Carson earlier, but don't let this hold you up from dialing 866-348-7884 and telling us who your all-star is. But if you go to Israel, You can go to Shiloh where this happened. Wait. There is this mound where the tabernacle, not the temple mound, but the tabernacle where it's at.
And actually, when you look at this mound, it's easier to tell where the holy place and the most holy place was than it would be to look at the temple mound. And so when you're there, like they have a sort of pavilion. And a great big version of Hannah's prayer. And people come from all over the world who are barren to pray there, Hannah's prayer on that mount. Right, where once stood the Holy of Holies, and where Eli the priest actually spoke to her.
You know, it it mind it blows my mind. You can stand right there and and and see the whole deal. Yeah, and think about how Hannah did. Just she believed the Lord was going to answer her prayer. And what a prayer that was answered because Samuel is one of the great all-stars.
You know, as he as he led, 2 Samuel 7, 15 is going to say, That he gave Israel solid leadership. 1 Samuel 7, 15. He gave Israel solid leadership his entire life.
Solid leadership. Boy, don't we need that today? And I think just the other day we talked about John MacArthur. You know, that's a characteristic of him. He brought solid leadership to his church and to the Christian community his entire life.
They finished well. Yes, and that ought to be the goal of every all-star. Finish well. And so who do who stands out for you? We would love to hear it.
866-348-7884, 866-348-7884. And I know You haven't mentioned him, but I know personally, you know, one of your all-time, all-time, all-time all-stars, you know, certainly in the first team would have to be Paul himself, right?
Well, when God says he is a chosen vessel. That kind of puts you in a different category. There's nobody like this. God, and this is when he's killing Christians. Remember, Ananias says, I'm not going to go.
No, you want me to go talk to Saul? No, he's killing Christians. He is a chosen vessel. And then he says, Now I got to talk to him about. How he's going to suffer for me because he's been causing other people to suffer.
Now he's going to have to go through some suffering. But yes, the Apostle Paul has to be on our list of the all-stars to move from being a man who was persecuting the church to preaching Christ and preaching to the point where the very people that he was traveling with to persecute now are ready to kill him. I thought, man, talk about a situation where I just went from the frying pan to the fire. Here I was persecuting Christians.
Now I am one and I'm preaching firmly. People want to kill me. The tables have turned, and Paul said, For me to live is Christ. And I don't know what your favorite verse about the Apostle Paul is. It could be Acts 20:24.
But Philippians 1:21, for me to live is Christ, to die is gained. That's an all-star right there. He was. And I wish. You know, everybody could see when I, you know, Dr.
Carson's to say he delights in the word of God would be an understatement of probably biblical. Because when he came in, and you know, we talked about this topic actually Tuesday and we talked about it again today. When he came in to sit down, he goes, Robbie, Robbie, Stephen, Stephen. You know, and he was, he was so excited to tell you. And, you know, and obviously, when you think about it, if it weren't for Stephen, when you think about Paul, I mean, he was, you know, standing there, you know, he was holding the coats.
He was affirming the death of Stephen. And Stephen's an all-star. Jesus stood up for him. Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the Father. But when Stephen died, the Bible says Jesus stood up.
to welcome him home. That's an all-star. Oh, and he, yeah. And he asked. As he was dying, for God to forgive those who were doing such this horrible Just a I I just Think about a horrible death, being stoned to death.
Yeah, if you think about it, um Bye. If you've ever been struck by anything, your immediate response is not forgive them. Like, usually you're dazed and you're bewildered and you're looking for a way to protect yourself and your body has a way of like life is more important than you just standing there. That's right. And so it is more than amazing, more than amazing to me that God gave him that kind of grace and that kind of moment in order to clearly be on the all-star.
And I know we're forgetting so many and you're thinking, well, you got to mention you got it.
Well. You'd be on my All-Star list. If you call. eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four. We said before the show started, I I went well, one of those that will always be on my All Star list is Jacob himself, Israel, if you want to call him that.
Because Those of us who are parents, you know, it's it's tough. When you have numerous kids, and you won't find many in the Bible that had the number of kids that Jacob had, and they all appeared to, you know, his tribes made it, you know, that were in the family of God. And With such dysfunction. It wasn't like his family was like, Oh, well, this is a bunch of angels right here. I mean, you're you're talking about some serious jealousy when a guy by the name of Joseph comes along.
Oh, yeah. And um that happened. Yeah, and that's not to mention, you know, what happened with the two boys of Levi. I what what the Was it Simeon the two that? Yeah, oh man.
Anyway, how about you? 866-348-7884. Who is that that you would describe? There's nobody like this guy in the Bible. We'd love to hear from you.
Give us a call. Truth talk You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. There is nobody like this guy. Who is that in the Bible for you? We would love to hear your...
Bible Hero 866 and Y, obviously. 866-348-7884 is the number to call in and share. Really, really fun. I've been having a blast myself talking about these characters that we have a chance to study and think about and pray about that inspired us and inspired generations of people that walked with God and we know and we understand that they got what they got from God and the honor to be able to reflect God. We would love to hear.
8663487884. And you've been thinking about this for a few days now, Doc. And that's why, you know, I just heard he said today that, you know, is Dr. Date the Word? Because he's got the Date the Word website.
And you may know from, you know, here in his one-minute clips that he has a verse for every day, as well as a birthday verse for you and all sorts of ministries that go along there. It's all at date the word.com. And the date the word app. And the date the word app. You can download the date the word app, and you can see the verse for the date, for the day, and verse for the days.
You've got a birthday. You want to see what your birthday verse is? You just click that on and look it up. You want to give a verse to someone for their birthday. And I'll ask a waiter or waitress when their birthday is and give them their birthday verse and they just light up.
It's wonderful. Absolutely wonderful.
So, you know, you got to spread the word about the word, right? That's what Massage has told him the other day. I'm spreading the word about the word. I'm showing people the app and letting them do it right there. Because, you know, even like think about your son's going to be on the football team this year, and he's got a number.
Like, man, well, let's give them a number that has to do with a number, right? Give them a verse, yep, that'll match that number, and then they can live up to that verse. What does God want them to be? And so the verse, I have one through 99. I have a verse for every number that could be on any football player.
Their numbers go one to 99. I don't know if they still use zero or not. I don't know if that's a good number. Genesis zero zero. That's pretty quiet.
866-348-7884, 866-348-7884. We would love to hear but who who are we missing? Doc, that we haven't talked about.
Well, we haven't talked about Josiah. And again, as I looked at this, I looked at it from, you know, just go to your concordance, and now you do it online, and I just typed in none like you. And just like that, I get all these different verses. And Josiah, I've had this marked in my Bible for years, 2 Kings 23, 25.
Now before him, Josiah. Josiah, there was no king like him, but why? Who turned to the Lord with all his heart, with all his soul, with all his might, according to the law of Moses, nor after him did any arise like him. Josiah, there was no king like him. He outpaced all of them.
And why? Because he found they found the Word of God. The Word of God was read to him. His heart was tender. And with that tender heart, he made decisions to do what was right in the sight of God.
That's a beautiful thing. Amazing.
So we got Linda, who is in Florida. And Linda, you're on Truth Talk Live. Good afternoon. Good afternoon. I'm excited to hear what you might have for us.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I I think Abigail is a little bit more. I think she really needs to be the head honcho in this Yeah. On the All-Star team.
She certainly was. Yeah. What do you love about her? Yeah. Yeah.
Do you remember the story? Yes, ma'am.
Well, tell it for the listeners who may not remember. Oh no.
Well Oh, gosh. I just heard it this morning on radio. Um, about David and how he needed to get some food for his men. and uh he came upon the village Uh Abigail and her husband Lubal. I guess that's how you pronounce his name.
Very good. But. Nubal was a very a stingy type man, very hard to handle. And I think David sent his runner up there to see if Newball would help him get some food for his men. And Newball rejected that, and he didn't want to have anything to do with David.
But his wife Abigail heard about this and And then um when the runner went back to David, he told him that uh this man was so terrible to him and uh didn't want to uh give him anything even though he he had a lot. But he refused to help David and his men. And so David got angry and was going to go and kill this man. 'Cause he was so angry with him that he wouldn't help him. But Abigail, Newball's wife, heard about it and she she all of a sudden she She, uh Her shell got all these uh loaves of bread and uh Pigs and dates and wine, and she put them on the donkeys she had, and she rode out to David and She um she bowed before him and said not to hurt her husband.
even though he's a bad man. she is still his wife. And she is sorry that you know, uh, w of his actions towards David. And David was very impressed with Abigail and said, okay, he backed off. And he thanked Abigail for um All this food that she had given him to him and his men.
And so she went back to Newball, and I think, I'm not too sure, Nubal got sick. That night. Yeah. Yeah. When he heard that David was coming after him, that was a strike of conscience.
Yeah. He got more than sick. Yeah. I think he had a stroke. Yeah.
A stroke. He got a a stroke or something like that where he became numb. and he went into a coma. Yep. And he died.
He did. Yeah, he died. And then David's going to get Abigail to become his wife. Right. When I taught at Liberty, I would say everybody needs an Abigail.
Yeah. Because she gave great advice. And David, I mean, he's getting ready to make a horrible decision. He is not acting kingly. He's abusing power.
You get mad because someone didn't feed you and you're going to go kill 'em? No, you don't act like that. And David said, Blessed are your advice. You have kept me from doing something that would have ruined me. And What a great All-Star.
Abigail. Yeah, but yeah. Absolutely beautiful. I don't think anymore. You know, in the in the woods.
I name my second daughter as Katie Abigail. Abigail, her father's joy. On her father's joy. That's what Abigail means. That's what Abigail means.
Isn't that neat? Isn't that neat? Yeah, it's precious, yeah. Very nice.
Well, thank you for your call. You have really this person definitely, Abigail's got to be on the all-star list. Yeah, I would agree wholeheartedly. It's great. I'm so grateful, Linda.
Thank you. You have an amazing day today. God bless. All right, how about you? 866.
We got a few minutes. You can get one in there: 866-348-7884. 866-348-7884. Of course, you know, we couldn't go on this list without Abraham himself, right? The friend of God?
Well, you know, he believed God. Yes. And it was counted to him as righteousness. And. You know, those words are Foundational to the covenant that God would have for all of us.
We look at George Washington being the father of our country, James Madison the father of the Constitution.
Well, when it comes to faith, It's Abraham. Genesis 15, 8. He believed God. What are you believing? I'm believing what he said.
He said that he's going to use me to make a great nation. I don't even have a son yet. I don't have a child yet. but I'm believing him and God candidate to righteousness. And then later, d I think it's in um Galatians where no, it's in James where he's now described as the friend of God.
What a title to have. Father of faith and friend of God, Abraham. Yeah, it it you know, it it it was kinda like you know, he was the turning turning point that that when you hear people talk about the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Moses, even though he was clearly the God of Noah and God of Adam, you know and Esau I mean, not Esau, um You know, he walked with God and then he was no more. Enoch. Enoch.
Enoch. Yeah. And so obviously, but interestingly, when you hear him say it was the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, and those are the three fathers, and there's the four mothers, and that comes up to seven. That's all some pretty cool stuff. But so I definitely think he's got to be on the list.
And so, you know, things to ponder. You can have fun with that tonight, but just really fun to think who is on your all-star list that we can emulate and begin to think, man, to have such great faith to stand right there in the gap. Nope. Who's your all-star? There you go.
There's nobody like this guy, and we'll see you tomorrow on Truth Talk Live. Thanks for listening. Truth talk. Oh.
