Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right, let's talk truth. A daily program powered by the Truth Network. This is kind of a great thing and I'll tell you why. Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together.
Speak your mind. And now here's today's Truth Talk Live host. Hello, this is Russ East. I'm your host for Truth Talk Live.
Filling in for Stu Epperson. Today is Monday, but it's actually Missions Monday. So today we are going to talk about some opportunities that you might very well have to embark in a missionary kind of adventure. So we're going to talk about some things going on in El Salvador in Central America. We're going to be talking about the country of Ghana that our ministry is taking a trip there to Western Africa. So we're going to talk about that a little bit and give you some information about that. And then we're also going to talk about Utah. And so I hope that you take the Great Commission seriously. It's such an important mandate that Christ gave us before he ascended. And so, you know, if we have some time at the end, we'll talk a little bit about Paul's missionary work that he did in Greece and how that our ministry Utah Partnerships for Christ is sponsoring a trip next year.
And that's going to be September 22nd through October 2nd. The footsteps of Paul trip, an 11-day tour on the footsteps of Paul in Greece. So we're going to not waste any more time here. And we're going to I'm going to ask Randy to go ahead and play an interview I did with a wonderful couple, Paul and Maria Cardenas. They are missionaries in El Salvador with YWAM. Go ahead, Randy, and play that interview. Welcome to Passion for Christ.
This is Russ, your host. And I'm with my friends, Paul and Mary Cardenas. And they are with a ministry that's been going on for a very long time. They have ministry bases all around the world.
It's called Youth with a Mission, or maybe you've heard of it referred to as YWAM. And so I'm going to just take a few minutes here. We'll see how long it goes for Paul and Mary, who are the base leaders, the directors there, and they're just going to share about a 10-day opportunity. A short-term mission that you can be involved in.
Or if you wanted to go for a whole year, that's all available too. So maybe we could have Paul to share a little bit. And then if we need some translation, then Mary, you could just fill in there. But tell us a little bit of how did you come to Christ? How did you come to Christ?
And talk real close, very close like I am to the microphone. Yeah, go ahead. Bueno, llegar el señor, ase 20 años atrás, buscando llenar un vacío a mi corazón, y pues el señor me condujos Argentina hacer una escuela de jucum y hay empezo mis storia con el señor. So I became a Christian 20 years ago. I was feeling really lonely, empty, and I went to Argentina and that's where my story started.
Okay, wonderful, wonderful. And so, did somebody share the gospel with you at church or was it at your home? Sucasa or Iglesia? How did that happen?
Como? So, I became Christians with missionaries from Wycliffe. They were translating Bible into Quechua for Quechua speakers.
I'm from Peru and they invited me to take a DTS with YWAM. Oh, that is so great. You know, I have to just say that's such a blessing.
And then in a few minutes, maybe if we have time today, I want to take you upstairs. I'm going to show you a reproduction copy of a Bible that John Wycliffe put together back in 1384. That's when he put together the Bible into English in 1384.
And so, since Wycliffe, there have been many Bible translators, you know, Tyndale and John Rogers and the Geneva Bible people and so on it goes, you know, so that's so exciting. Praise God. And would you want to share, Mary, a little bit about your testimony? Yeah, I have been a Christian since I was born. I was born in the church as a Christian, but there was a time that I felt that I didn't know Jesus. Like I felt away from Jesus, even though I grew up in the church. So, well, I was facing a lot of peer pressure and like the world and then became the university and a lot of things were going on in my mind. So I decided to separate a time for God. Yeah. And after graduating from university, I went and took the DTS and it was a really good time for me to found again with Jesus and my faith and really like to say that I wanted to serve him and I have been serving since then.
Wow, that's wonderful. So tell our listeners, what does DTS stand for? It's Discipleship Training School.
Discipleship Training School. And so it goes for a year. But if somebody is not ready to go for a whole year, you can just go for about 10 days. Yeah, right, right. DTS doesn't go for a whole year, but we have a program that because sometimes after university you have spare time or after college. Right, right. So you don't want to go right away to work or maybe after high school, you don't want to go right away to university or college.
So you can spend that time serving others and growing in a relationship with Jesus and we have called it a year for Jesus. And it only costs $200? No, no, no. That's for 10 days, like short term. For the 10 days?
Yeah. For a year, we have two schools. We have DTS and then we have a break in the middle, a month, and then we start the second school. That is a school of missions.
So each school has a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part is $2,000. And then plus the outreach part, the practical will be around $5,000 up to $2,000. And people will help support you. I mean, people out there, they have, you talk to like maybe 100 people or 50 people or something, and people will be surprised that people, they're willing to help give, aren't they?
People want to give to their local church and they want to give to somebody who wants to go to a DTS. You've seen it for the last, how many years has it been going on? 50 years or something like that? Almost 20. Okay. But YWAM has been going on for a long time.
Yeah, 50 years or something. So we've seen God supply. God is supply. What's the phrase? If God is, if He wills it, He's in it or something like that.
He's going to provide. There's a little phrase that rhymes but helps me remember that because we're in ministry kind of work as well here in Utah. So are there some Mormons in El Salvador? Are there a few Mormons, do you think? Yeah, actually the city we are at is the city that has the most, oh, the city we are at has the most Mormon.
Really? Yeah. Really, big population.
Big population. So we have to lovingly reach them with the gospel, huh? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Great. Well, when I mentioned $200, is that a cost, plus your airfare to get out there, but is it only $200 or so? This includes accommodation and the activities.
Okay. And food. And food. Lots of great food. Lots of great food.
Mexican kind of food, huh? Something better, better, probably. Better. Better, yes, yes, yes. Right.
Salvadorian, yeah, pupusas. I was going to say, we have a place right down here, you know? Yeah.
She's making some tonight. Oh, okay. Oh, really? Okay. Okay.
Well, there's a little restaurant, I think, over here. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Right. So, well, this is great. Well, I know that the people will just have a blast working with you guys. And so that's just a real blessing.
So if you're looking for an opportunity to do some missions work in Central America, some evangelism, teaching in schools, the homeless, probably like other orphanages out there, maybe a little bit of orphanage or jails, things like that, maybe. Right. Okay.
Paul, share with our listeners the vision that God's given you about this. And Mary, when we come back here on Truth Talk Live, we're going to be taking your calls during the end of the second segment, 866-348-7884. We'll be right back.
All right. We are back here on Truth Talk Live. We're going to continue the interview that I had with Paul and Mary Cardenas. They are missionaries because today is Missions Monday, and we are talking about missionary opportunities that you can take a part of. And so we're just going to continue the interview now as we hear about these missionaries in El Salvador, Central America, with YWAM. Let's continue. Paul, share with our listeners the vision that God's given you about this 10-day trip.
What's the vision God's given you for this? So our main dream is to have people going out from El Salvador to nations. Okay. So I don't know if you have heard the news, but something has changed in El Salvador. For many years, we have worked under the pressure of the gangs. Okay.
Yes. And now we're experiencing a peace that we haven't got in almost 30 years in El Salvador. Since two years ago, we can see that there is a fight, there is a peace, and we feel that in this freedom that we are living today, we are not multiplying the work of the mayor in a more explosive manner, like when we worked under the pressure of the gangs. Okay.
So we feel that we have two years now that is peaceful, and we feel like we need to double our effort to work and spread the gospel in El Salvador because we are not belonging under the pressure of the gangs members. Right. Praise God for that.
That is fantastic. I'm going to do something kind of crazy right now. I'm going to just see if we can bring on...
There's YWAM bases all around the world. Okay. And I have a friend in Las Vegas and he may be busy right now, but if he is, that's okay. But we're going to see if I can bring him on the line because you got to meet Haruna.
He's from Ghana. Hey. Hello. Haruna, this is Russ. Hey. Hi, Russ. How are you doing? Doing great. Hey, do you have just one minute to say hello to some YWAM base directors in El Salvador? They're sitting right in my office right here. Oh, great.
Yes. So this is Paul and Mary Cardenas. This is Haruna from Ghana, but he's in Las Vegas. Hi. Hi, Haruna. Nice to meet you. Hi, Haruna.
Nice to meet you. Hey, FaceTime. We're going to do FaceTime right now.
There he is right there. Hi. All right. We're doing FaceTime.
So out there, everybody out in radio land, you can't see us right now. But hey, Haruna, great to see you. All right. Haruna has brought teams from his base to Utah and I thought maybe, who knows, maybe the Lord will use this moment to where people from YWAM at Las Vegas could travel out to El Salvador, right?
Is that possible? I would love to connect with them. So send me contacts when you finish and then I can connect with them.
Okay. Haruna is a great guy. And these are great people right here.
So hey, I just called you off the cuff like this, but thank you so much for answering. And we're trying to go to Ghana. You can pray for us.
We're trying to go to Ghana and reach the people there for Christ because there's lots of Mormons in Ghana. So a lot of unsafe people everywhere, right? So Haruna is blessing us a lot with some good contacts and everything.
So this is just how the body of Christ works, right? Yeah. Okay.
All right. Well, thank you, Haruna. I'll connect you with these guys, okay? You're welcome. Yes, yes.
I would love to connect with them. Thanks, Haruna. Talk to you soon. Bye-bye. Okay.
All right. Well, that was fun. That was fun. How God just does that sometimes. Could have gone to voicemail, you know? That's okay.
We would have said hi to him there. Well, I think that's about it right now unless there's anything else you'd like to say. Oh, your trip.
Yes, yes. And then get contact information. Real quick. There's contact information.
If they want to get in touch with you, what's the best way to do it? We have a website. Okay.
We've got the website. YWAMconnections.org. Okay.
YWAMconnections.org. Okay. And that'll take you right to El Salvador.
To where you guys are. Santa Ana, El Salvador. Yeah.
We are in Santa Ana, El Salvador. Okay. Excellent. And so, great.
Well, go to that website and you can find out all you need to know about the ministry in El Salvador and the short-term mission trip and the DTS. And Regina, you and Eric both did this before. Why don't you get real close to the microphone.
Just swing that over there. And you can just share, as the Lord leads you, about the whole thing. Hi, I'm Regina and this is my husband.
Hello, this is Eric. And how did the Lord lead you guys to the short-term trip or the DTS? Yeah, so it started with my 40th birthday being last year and then planning a trip.
And then I'm into Bitcoin and there was something called Bitcoin halving that happens every four years. And they were having that party in El Salvador. So we started planning this trip to El Salvador and then we have some friends that are YWAM people from Hawaii that live here in Ogden. So we started talking to Diego about it. If there was any YWAM things or he knew a way that we could make this kind of have some more bigger purpose for the trip.
Maybe some kind of mission. And that's how he put us in touch with Paul and Mary at their YWAM base because it was through his father that there was a connection. And so then we got in touch with Paul and Mary over WhatsApp and we were planning. We packed some extra things for the trip, some games, some little care packages for the homeless. And we kind of planned a special project where there was a family that had to make some repairs to their house before the rainy season. So we made some plans for that. And then it was really a special part of our vacation. We brought our four kids. So it was our family of six and we all stayed together on the YWAM base where we were sharing meals and worshipping. And then going out into the community to help where there was really a UNICEF building that kind of stood out in the middle of a very poor area.
They had recently painted murals on the walls to cover up the gang graffiti. And that's where we were able to work with children and play games with the elderly. They had a street friends program, which was working with homeless people, so we were able to do that and help give out food and talk to people. And it was funny because a lot of those people were from California and that's where we're from. And some of them spoke English better than Spanish because they'd been deported. So we were able to talk about living in California.
And so it was just not a conversation I was expecting to have with people in El Salvador, much less, you know, on that night. But so that was really interesting getting to meet some of those new people. Awesome. Awesome. So, so wonderful to hear.
And Regina, what would you like to add to that? Well, I was scared at first heading out in all honesty and had to really rely on God's peace there. But, you know, I have to say it was probably one of the most special moments our family had together. It was extremely safe. And I yeah, I'll never forget the experience going there with our kids, especially they we have kids from.
What a great idea. Oh, they loved it. A trip like this. What about Wyatt? Do you want to say something, Wyatt? OK, you don't have to. But say that you can say yes or no. Did you have a great trip on this thing to El Salvador? Yes or no? Yeah, it was pretty fun.
Pretty fun. So that's pretty good for a young man to say that. I mean, he didn't say it was lame.
He didn't say it was like, oh, no, I'd never do that. No way. Get me out of here. And he's sitting here and he's enjoying it. Right. And Wyatt loves to play soccer. So he was able to play soccer with other children there.
That's a good sport to play over there. I bet they didn't have a proper soccer ball. So that was a simple gift.
They were able able to just buy a soccer ball so they could play with that. Things we take for granted. I mean, you know, just to bless people and to befriend them. Why, give us a call. How has the Lord spoken to you? How has he changed your life by going on a mission trip? 866-348-7884.
That's 866-348-7884. How has a mission trip changed your life? We'll talk about this more when we get right back to the top. You're listening to the Truth Network and Truth Network dot com.
Is there anyone in the Truth Network family that's been on a mission trip and it's changed your life? And you want to praise God about that right now. You want to call in at 866-348-7884.
That's 866-348-7884. And give a testimony. Encourage other people to take this great commission seriously. In Matthew chapter 28 verses 18 through 20, it says, And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things, whatever whatsoever I have commanded you. And lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. So I'd love to hear from you. Love to hear how the Lord has changed your life by way of a mission experience.
Maybe you went to Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, other most parts of the earth. Whatever you'd like to share with with our listeners today, I would love to hear from you. So that number one more time that I'm going to share about an opportunity that you even have to go to Ghana.
So that number again, 866-348-7884. So coming up August 22nd through the 29th, our ministry, Utah Partnerships for Christ, came across a gentleman named Fred. And Fred, he called me up and he said, Russ, I have a burden to go to Ghana. And he wanted to come to Utah to learn about the culture of where Mormon people live and how to share the gospel with Mormons. And he wanted to take that information, take that experience and go to Ghana in West Africa. And so little by little, things started percolating and happening and one thing after another.
And all of a sudden, you know, where God guides, he provides. And so he has been raising funds and he's on his way to going to Ghana. And what we're going to do is we're going to have, Lord willing, we're going to have between August 22nd and August 29th, we're going to have a man with us who's going to be taking video of this whole experience. We're going to be he's going to be going to churches and a, I believe, a YWAM base. And we're going to minister to the Christians there to understand how that the Mormon teaching is is completely different from true Christianity. And we're going to lovingly do this. We're going to do it with kindness. But we're going to kind of go as like an Operation Galatians, in a sense.
We're going to go and we're going to try to equip and protect. And we're going to to educate and inspire and encourage the Christians there to share the love of Christ with their Mormon friends, with the Mormon missionaries that are there in Ghana in the capital city of Accra. Over the years, there was there have been a couple of people, like in the last interview, a gentleman named Haruna. And he has brought teams up to Utah.
He's from Ghana and he has a heart for Ghana. So he's been helping us with some connections. Maybe you would like to join Fred. They're going to be flying out of the East Coast.
And this is again, this is August 22nd to the 29th. Maybe you'd like to go to our Web site, UPFC.org. That's the acronym for Utah Partnerships for Christ. And that's where you can even if you wanted to make a donation or if you wanted to find out how you could go on this trip, that would be the place to go. So we would love to hear from you in light of that. And so this trip is going to involve a lot of training workshops and seminar kinds of events with the churches there in the Accra area. And so that's going to take place. And then as well as that, then we're going to have a day where we just prayerfully seek out opportunities to talk to Mormons that are near the temple, the Mormon temple, maybe the missionaries that are in the area.
We believe the Lord's going to open up that door. But over the years, as I was saying, the Lord has brought Haruna across my path and then also a man named Nicholas Levy that goes way back. And he was living in Ghana. He came over to Utah to do some ministry with us here to reach the Mormons for Christ. And then since then, he moved to England and he's working as a pastor over there in England in the London area.
And so we've just kept up over the years. And so between the connections between Haruna and Nicholas Levy, it looks like things are starting to happen. And we have we have some people that are willing to host us and to have these these meetings, these training sessions, these seminars, workshops, and where we can really learn how to share the gospel effectively with our friends who are Mormon. And so the Mormon Church is growing in Ghana. And so we want to help the Christians there befriend the Mormons. We want them to to the sense of the true love that the Christians should have for it, for one another. And in so doing, they would want to share the truth, you know, to understand who is Jesus, what is the gospel?
How do my sins get forgiven? How does that work exactly? And so there's some confusion over there as to as to what the Mormon Church is all about. And so hopefully this trip coming up August 22nd to the 29th will afford for some some better understanding, some better some better resources that we can provide and leave with them and have an ongoing relationship with them over in Ghana. So that's exciting.
And I'm encouraged by that. Let me give the number again. I'm checking to see if we have any callers at 866-348-7884. If you'd like to share and give praise to the Lord as to a mission trip that you went on, or maybe you just shared a gospel track with your dentist or maybe your neighbor. You just want to share because this is missions Monday today and we want to celebrate the work of of of Christ in our hearts, in our minds, in our lives, in our words that we can be a ambassador for Christ. We can be his ambassador of heaven and we can share with people the truth, the grace, the hope of Jesus. So this is what we are all about.
This is what the Great Commission is all about. And so so please give us a call at 866-348-7884. I'd like to maybe change gears again as we continue to talk about missions and what that could involve for yourself, for your family, for your church, for your college group.
This would be a more of a domestic trip right here in the States. And so we'll get into it more in after the break. But I want to just point your your attention to our website, which is you as in Utah, P as in partnerships, F as in for C as in Christ dot o r g. And so this is a an opportunity that you would have to to bring a group out. And by the way, I would come out to your church first or ministry or school or wherever it is. And I would do a four hour training workshop and then we would go over understanding the differences between Mormonism and Christianity. And then we would we would even do some role playing where I would pretend that I was Mormon.
I would put on my hat that would kind of just turn me into a Mormon like I used to be, you know, when I got I got saved out of it when I was 14. But I remember much and we've lived in Utah for a long time, for about 30 years. And so our hearts desire is to to do it.
Paul talks about in Romans 10, one through four and Second Timothy two, twenty three through twenty six. And we just want to provide you with some encouragement, provide you with some some resources and some some equipping to reach more. And so, hey, come to Utah where it's about maybe 60 percent Mormon all throughout the whole state. And we will we will do a planning session out there at the same time after our training time. We'll have a meal together.
We'll spend about two hours planning out your trip. That's something that's really, really important. And so we've been doing that. We've done about three hundred and fifty mission teams over the last twenty five years. So by God's grace, we're celebrating twenty five years of missionary work here in Utah. And the Truth Network has been a big part of that. And I just appreciate your prayers for our transmitter situation.
And as we're trying to find ways which we have to improve and to to fix some things. And we're just continuing to get the podcast network going out out here in Utah and all across the network, of course. But going back these mission trips, your trip would involve coming here to Utah and and spending time with with Mormons at their church. We would have you go to a Christian church in the morning on a Sunday morning and then we break up into smaller groups and we'll go to a Mormon church.
Remember when Paul would go to the synagogues? Well, we would go in the same kind of way in a sense. And we go prayerfully with courtesy and being polite and we go and we sit in on some classes. We sit in on the service and and then in between that time we we meet people. The Lord brings us people to talk to and and we get invited to things and we invite them to meals and hikes and things like that.
And it's a blast. And we get to ask questions in a classroom setting. And before you know it, you know, we're exchanging some texts, some cell numbers, and we're meeting up with these people that we're meeting at their church or their ward, as they call it.
And then that just really sets the tone for the week. And then beyond that, we'll go to a place called Temple Square. Temple Square is is like the Mecca of Mormonism in Utah. And so you have many buildings, much to to explore, tour guides that take you through various parts of their history. And you can ask questions and you can share the gospel with them and you can learn about kind of what Mormonese is all about and how Mormons think. And you can watch movies and you can just interact with with the people there.
You can learn about their culture. You can you can just really just kind of bask in a bubble of of pure Mormon thinking. And it's it's a little jarring sometimes and it can be sometimes frustrating. But what a great place to be. It's kind of like going to Mars Hill.
It's kind of like going to Athens. And you just see these statues of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young and you just your heart breaks because you you want them to know Christ. You want them to to to know Christ alone and the real Jesus. And so and so we continue our trek maybe down to Brigham Young University. We'll interact with Mormons down there, a large thirty thousand student population of Mormons there. And it's just fascinating to see all the Mormon temples.
There's 14 or 15 temples. We might stop at a temple. We might prayerfully go and try to just start up a conversation with somebody who's going to do maybe a marriage ceiling for the dead. You know, and if you don't know what that's all about, you know, just give me a call. 801-645-7433 is my number.
You can call Truth Network. I'll be glad to connect with you. And we can talk about this more. But we also will do is we'll do some like, say, canvassing for a church. We'll put invites on a door hanger. We will invite people out to a local church. We'll do all kinds of work projects. We'll maybe help with a VBS or help at a rescue mission. A lot of things.
A lot of fun stuff. We'll tailor it for your age group, for your career group. Stay with us. Call us. 866-348-7884. We'll be right back here on Truth Talk Live.
You're listening to the Truth Network and Truth Network dot com. I'm filling in for Stu Epperson and we have a caller on the line, but I'm going to redirect them to call a different number. So this is going to be a Christy Darlington and she has a ministry in Colorado.
And looks like we've got what we do have my wife on the line. Tammy, are you there? Yes, I am.
OK, thank you so much for calling in. Just thought it'd be nice for our listeners just to hear just briefly, you know, what was what has been some of the highlights or the the challenges of carrying out the Great Commission here in Utah? Over the years with bringing out mission teams and just just, you know, doing some traveling and just your amazing support, you know, of of of me and wanting to to carry out this this this task of reaching Utah for Christ. What are some things that come to your mind?
Oh, great. Thanks, hon. I would say it is it has been such a walk of faith and yet so incredibly rewarding to represent Christ in the spiritual desert of Utah. Even though it's a highly religious area. We have just been blessed to bring the true gospel of Jesus to those who are working so hard to make themselves clean enough, good enough to to reach heaven. And we know as Bible believing Christians that Jesus paid everything.
And and what we have to do is received his free is receive his free gift of salvation. And it has been a real privilege to be able to share that over the last thirty one years with those living here in the beautiful state of Utah. When we first moved here, Utah wasn't really on the map for a lot of people.
And I would say, you know, in the last years, even not as much as it was in the 2002 Winter Olympics. But now especially, it's just been a real draw to a lot of people and, you know, for lots of different reasons. But I would say most of all, planting seeds in a spiritual desert has just been a real special calling that God has given to us.
And of course, yeah. So amazing to see how the Lord has blessed us with our daughters marrying Christian guys. And and so and we're just so blessed by that.
That was a big concern. But the Lord has been very gracious there. So thank you, hon, for calling in. I just appreciate you and love you so much. Thank you so much.
Love you. Have fun. OK. Bye, everybody.
All right. Thank you, Tammy. Hey, we've also got we have Christine on the line. She's with one of our ministry partners with Witnesses for Jesus. Christy Darlington, are you on the line? Hello, how are you doing?
Doing well, thank you. Thank you for all your support and your ministry. Tell our listeners about the Ministry of Witnesses for Jesus. Well, I've been involved in reaching people caught in cults, primarily the Mormons and the Jehovah's Witness religion. Since I started researching when my cousin became a Mormon back in 95 is when I started my research and started the ministry as a sole proprietorship in 97.
Then we got our 501 C3 in 2004. So I've been doing this well over 20 years, more like 25 and going out to Utah, talking to people on the streets. And then, of course, when I meet folks locally, I do talk with the with Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses as they come to the door or whatever.
I've gone to the Kingdom Hall, sat in meetings, talked with elders, circuit overseers and the Jehovah's Witnesses as well as written books on both groups. So that's a little bit of an update. And then I also run that program that you guys probably hear on the radio network. I have the two minute clip misguided by Mormonism. And then, of course, we've added some one minute clips from some of my videos on questions you can ask Mormons. Excellent. Yes, we appreciate the ministry so much.
You have such great content to help us better reach Mormons for Christ. And so the website where people can find those videos or maybe on YouTube, how would they want to find those those powerful videos and the content that you have? Well, I usually recommend that people start out with the research in the articles and the videos are they're all listed on my website for the number four witness. W. I.T. any S.S. dot org. Number four witness dot org. W.I.T.
any S.S. dot org. It's a good place to start because I have articles that just teach you about the mindset of people in these groups, because when they come to your door, they're not there to try to hear what you have to say. They're there to try to teach you.
So the way you approach them so they continue talking to you is very important, crucial how you start talking to them. So I have those articles on there. And then my YouTube channel with four Jesus W.I.T. short for witnesses. But it's with W.I.T. for F.O.R. Jesus J.E.S.U.S.
and just Google YouTube with W.I.T. for Jesus. And there on the YouTube channel, we also posting quite a bit of our face to face outreach events and not just the presentations, but talking to Mormons on the streets during general conference. I just posted one from this last spring conference out in Salt Lake because we do that twice a year. And I say we, that includes me and my volunteers that come from all over the country that love talking to Mormons. Our approach is very much conversational and we really try not to be rude when we talk to Mormons.
You know, it's so easy to some folks, you know, they're a little more vocal and they'll get their different amplifiers and whatever out there to try to get their message out. We are more the we call ourselves the friendly anti. You'll find our table at Salt Lake at the general conference. They'll be like along the sidewalk in one of the areas. And we usually just set up there with a couple of signs to get people to think, questions to think about. And then if someone wants to talk, they come on over to our table, sit down and chat.
And we have some great discussions on the streets, as you'll see in some of those videos that we post. So, yeah. Amen. So, yeah, praise God. Thank you so much for taking time out and to share with our listeners all across North Carolina and Ohio and Utah. And so we're just grateful and just appreciate all the work that you've done to equip Christians on how to reach ones for Christ and just getting out there on the streets and do what you do. So thank you. Well, thank you.
And it's been a blessing to partner with your radio station. Yes. Yes, absolutely. All right. Well, hey, let's let's let's let's change gears here. I'm going to change gears just for the last few minutes that we have together here on Truth Talk Live.
I want to share with you about an opportunity. You know, imagine if you could go and where much of the missions Monday concept. Well, it started at the Great Commission and then, of course, all throughout God's word, Old Testament, New Testament to be an ambassador for God. But but just imagine if you could go to where Paul traveled. Imagine if you could go on on September 22nd next year in twenty twenty six and depart from the US and land in Athens, Greece, land in Athens, Greece, and get situated there and have dinner with a bunch of Christians and enjoy the remainder of the latter part of the day. And then the next day you go to the Acropolis, you go to the place where Paul spoke and shared the gospel at Mars Hill.
And he was kind of ridiculed and mocked, you know, but I've been there. I'll tell you what, I've been there and it's so amazing that God would choose to use this this little man who maybe wasn't super impressive, you know, but he had a powerful message and some some believed there at Mars Hill. And you can you can climb up the steps and you can stand there and you can look over your right shoulder. You can see the Acropolis. You can see the big temple to Athena that used to be there. Well, the the structure still there, but inside used to be a big gold statue of Athena and just all kind of debauchery and things were going on.
But you learn about that. And and then just imagine that the next day we spend a little more time seeing a few sites around Athens. And then we'll take a a little cruise ship. We'll go to three little islands, Poros, Agena and Hydra.
And kind of a relaxing day, kind of a day to kind of get the jet lag to dissipate and just enjoy a little bit of relaxation. Talk about Athens. Talk about Acts 16 and 17, because this is all a part of this trip. We spend a lot of time going through God's word and we'll spend time on day five in Athens and in Corinth. We'll go walk through Corinth.
It's amazing. You see that the remains of things in there and their little museum. And it's just so powerful and to read God's word, to read First Corinthians and Second Corinthians. And then and then we'll continue on our trip and we'll go to Meteora. We'll learn about around the fourteen hundreds what was going on when Turkey was taking over Greece. And we learn about some of those those monasteries and we then go to places like Berea and Virgina. And we go to Thessaloniki and we read through First Thessalonians and Second Thessalonians and just see all these amazing things. We go to the Via Ignatia and you can even walk some of that road on day nine. And then we're going to pick you up if you want to have us be picking you up. And you can travel the road that Paul probably walked on and Silas. And so then we'll end up in Philippi and we'll we'll read through Philippians and we'll just take it all in. And we're going to do this together.
Send me an email if you'd like or just go to our website UPFC.org. And I'll tell you all about it. I'm so excited about this trip.
It's September 22nd through October 2nd, 2026, an 11 day tour. It's going to be great. I've been really blessed being with you today here on Truth Talk Live.
