Peter Rosenberger reflects on his Easter Sunday experience in an airport, finding a banana peel in his seat pocket, and how it made him realize the importance of celebrating holidays despite being away from family and friends. He shares his thoughts on the secularization of society and the need for Christians to be aware of their surroundings and to share the Gospel with others. He also discusses his work with prosthetic limbs and the importance of proper teaching and doctrine in churches, warning against the 'cotton candy' message and the need for a deeper understanding of the Gospel.

Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right, let's talk. A daily program powered by the Truth Network. This is kind of a great thing, and I'll tell you why. Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together.

Speak your mind. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host. To be with you today, if you want to be a part of the program, 866-34-TRUTH.

866-348-7884. Phone lines are open if you want to weigh in. I flew to Montana on Sunday, on Easter Sunday. I took the day to go up there and get my vehicle, which friends of mine dropped at the airport in Montana. And I left Denver to go do that, and then drove back to Denver where we're staying. We're still in the hospital with my wife, week number 13.

And we're not sure exactly when this is going to be over. But, here we are, and I needed to get my own vehicle. They don't want her to fly back home, so I'm going to drive her home slowly.

We'll take a couple days to get there when it does happen. But I, on Easter Sunday, I flew back. I got up in the morning, went over there to the hospital to see her early, and I read to her the Easter story. And just had a moment with her, and then caught an Uber to the airport. And I had to spend a little extra time at the airport because I've lost my driver's license.

You have to use your driver's license to check into the hospital every day. And somewhere along the line, it fell out. And I'm getting a new one.

It's supposed to be shipped to me, but it hasn't gotten there yet. So I had to call the TSA and work that out. And you're able to do it, but you've got to go through a process. They were very gracious in the past. I've struggled a bit with the TSA at times.

Incredibly gracious and got it worked out. But you have to get there pretty early. So I got there early, three hours to be specific, and I'm in the airport. It's Easter Sunday.

It is the high point of the church calendar. I've never spent Easter Sunday in the airport. I have spent it in the hospital, but I've never spent it in the airport.

And Denver is a very big airport. And I saw two different people wearing bunny ears. And that was it for Easter. That's all the accouterments of Easter that I saw. And I thought, wow, this is sad, isn't it?

This is really sad. My family FaceTimed me from South Carolina, and they were gathering just before I got on the plane. They're gathering for Easter lunches after church.

They're a couple hours ahead of me. And they invited me to join in with the prayer before the meal. My brothers and sisters, my son was there. And it was great to be able to have that connection there in the airport Easter Sunday. It was kind of hard to describe, but it wasn't being celebrated in any way, fashion, or form.

And I thought, the fields are white with harvest, aren't they? People are going about their lives not stopping to commemorate the day that Christ was raised. He was risen from the grave.

Romans 1 talks about He was risen for us. And nobody knew. Or seemed to care. And I thought, this is sad. We're slowly morphing into a very secular society, aren't we? And I thought, what can we do about this? What do we do about it?

What do you think about that? I got on the plane. I will tell you this. We got on the plane.

Everybody got seated. And the pilot came on and said, alright, one special passenger is going to find this. Reach into the back of the seat in front of you in that pocket. And basically they had hidden an egg. I reached into the back of the seat in front of me and I pulled out a plastic wrapper that somebody had put an old banana peel in.

And it was not quite what I expected to pull out for Easter Sunday morning. But it was, and I showed it to the flight attendant and I said, do I get something special for this? And the flight attendant was incredibly apologetic and embarrassed and went and got gloves to pick up what I just handed to him.

And I'm just like, you know, what about me? They brought me a little wet nap kind of thing to wipe my hands with because I didn't touch the banana peel, but there was the plastic around it. So I feel a little bit better about that. But, you know, that was my Easter egg hunt. I found an old banana peel. I'm not going to read into that and say that somehow that was a foretelling of my life that day.

But, you know, if you go Easter egg hunting and you find an old banana peel and that's your, you know, your gig that day, there you have it. So anyway, I got up to Montana, walked out of the airport, got the truck and started driving back. And I stayed along the night in Wyoming. Beautiful drive down to Casper and got up the next day and came on back to the hospital to see Gracie be with her as we kind of figure out what's our next step. We're not sure. Surgeon says we're not out of the woods yet. So we persist on.

There is no plan B. And now, you know, 13 weeks starting into this journey, it's been quite an ordeal. But here we are.

So what do we do? Well, for me, I go back to Easter. I go back to Easter.

What does it mean? The beautiful thing about being believers is that we don't celebrate Easter just once. We don't celebrate it just once a year. We recognize that because of the resurrection. Let me read what Paul wrote about this. First Corinthians 15, 20 through 23. But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, that's the first imputation, by man has also come the resurrection of the dead. Adam's sin was imputed to us. Our sin imputed to Christ. Christ's righteousness imputed to us.

Three imputations. And then Paul says here, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. But each in his own order, Christ the first fruits, then at his coming those who belong to God.

In Romans 8, 11, if the spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his spirit who dwells in you. And look at this, Colossians 1, 18. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. The firstborn, again that phrase in Romans 1, 5. And Jesus Christ from the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead.

And the ruler of the kings of earth. So it goes all the way through. It's not that this was a one-time event. It set in motion everything. He didn't just blaze the trail.

He is the trail. He didn't escape the grave to prove a point. He crushed it underfoot and secured the resurrection of his people. That's why Paul calls him the first fruits. Because there's more harvest coming and guess what? We're in it.

R.C. Sproul said, we are not resurrected because of our own power. We are resurrected because we are united to Christ.

It's union with Christ. And I was able to have that even though I found a banana peel in the back pocket of my airplane seat. On Easter Sunday morning I had still a time to be able to reflect on what God has done for me. And it was poignant. Yes, there was sadness at seeing so many that didn't seem to notice it or care. But you know what?

We notice it and care, don't we? Spending any holiday is difficult when you're away from family and friends and particularly Easter and Christmas when you're away from church. In 2023 we were in the hospital for Christmas and then New Year's for 2024 and then Gracie's birthday and Valentine's Day and quite a few days after that.

And here we are in 2025 with again Valentine's Day and now Easter. And those are difficult things and they're lonely and challenging when you don't have the church community around you. These hospital stays have imprinted on me the importance of us celebrating those things to the best of our abilities no matter what's going on.

I'm curious to whether or not you've had the same event if you've had to be away from family and friends and be kind of on your own. Sitting in a airport on Easter Sunday when I was used to hearing music and the people of God worshipping. And I can recall so many Easter services and it was different. Reading the Easter story to Gracie that morning in the hospital before I went to the airport was tough. And I was grateful to be able to do it but at the same time it was kind of challenging.

You know what I'm saying? Because you feel lonely, you feel out of sorts, you feel like what's going on? But maybe that's kind of the whole point is to recognize that first Easter those guys felt a little bit out of sorts too, don't you think?

And they didn't know what was going on but Christ was still risen and that's the point. And I'd like to hear your stories on that. If you have a particular meaningful thing on Easter for you give us a call. 866-34-TRUTH, 866-348-7884. This is Peter Rosenberger, PeterRosenberger.com and this is Truth Talk Live.

We'll be right back. Truth Talk Live! You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. I am Peter Rosenberger. Glad for the opportunity to be with you today. I hope you're doing well.

Truth Talk Live and if you want to be on the program 866-34-TRUTH, 866-348-7884 if you want to be on the program. By the way, there's more information at PeterRosenberger.com. I've got a lot of exciting things I'd like for you to take a look at out there. I've got several articles that we had.

There's one particular one that I'd love to draw to your attention. It's a blog post that she's got in her continuing series she's been doing on chronic pain and dealing with the challenges she's had. And she wanted me to share this one.

She dictates to me. She can't write very well with her hand but she can share what's on her heart and that's what she's done on this one and I think you'll find it very meaningful. It echoes a long time friendship she's had with Johnny Erickson-Tada and the two of them have about 100 years of disability and suffering between the two of them.

Johnny got hurt when she was 17 in 1967 and Gracie got hurt when she was 17 in 1983. And there's also you can hear the wonderful performance they did together as a duet on Because He Lives that it would really bless you quite a bit. I believe that you'll be very moved by it. And it's all out there at the website at PeterRosenberger.com.

I also had an article published this weekend at Fox News and you can see that out at my website how to read that. It's about again Eastern as an experience I had with President Bush and I saw something Gracie performed with him and then in Nashville and then a year later, she was at the Republican National Convention in New York, Madison Square Gardens, but it wasn't just that performance that stuck with me. The first performance was at a hotel in Nashville and it was a big ballroom and she was up there on the stage and doing her thing and it was a big hoopla as you can imagine. A week later, I happened to be at that same hotel. It's a big hotel there off of West End in Nashville and I happened to go by that ballroom and I stuck my head in there and it was empty. The place was empty. A week prior, the President of the United States stood there in all the Secret Service and crowds cheering and so forth and then it was empty. There was no chairs, there was no flags, there was no anything.

It was just an empty room. And then when we were at Madison Square Gardens, we were on stage there with the President when he gave his acceptance speech and if you look in the old footage, Time Magazine and so forth, you'll see us sitting over his left shoulder right there. She had sung on Tuesday night and they'd asked us to stick around, but after he left and he came out by the way to thunderous applause. I mean it was huge. The whole place was just electric when he came out. But then after that was over, Madison Square Gardens, as iconic as it is, just kind of became another venue.

I mean it's just an empty place. The seat of power was no longer there. While the President was there, that's where everything was happening.

He was right there. And then I watched him come out when Trump was inaugurated earlier this year and he came into the rotunda and there was a very nice applause as he and Mrs. Bush came out. But it wasn't anything like 20 years ago when we were sitting there as he walked out. I mean it was electric then and it wasn't anything like that.

And this article I wrote talked about the contrast because Madison Square Gardens just shook when he came out. But the earth shook when Christ came out. Wherever the Spirit of God is, wherever the Holy Spirit resides, Christ comes into our life.

That is the seat of power. He doesn't leave. He is not asked to leave. He doesn't serve a four year term. He's king. And that's the thrust of this article is the difference and it's called Presidents Leave the Stage, Christ Left the Grave. And that's in FoxNews.com if you want to take a look at that.

You can go out to my website. I was just struck by that because the trappings of his office, we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. It's what he said. So unlike that empty ballroom or even Madison Square Gardens, he's not departing. He's here.

Even when Gracie and I are in the hospital with all these things. Even when I'm at the airport sitting there, the Holy Spirit is right there because he dwells in me and doesn't have to leave. He doesn't move on. He's there. He takes up residence. Scripture said, Behold, I will come in and I will fellowship with him.

And that's the hope. To me, it just struck me on the way we view things. And I know we get excited being around proximity to power and all that kind of stuff. And it's very exciting to be around a lot of that kind of thing. There's a lot of noise.

There's a lot of lights and cameras and action. Yeah, OK, I get that. But scripture says that he dwells in our hearts. The King of Kings who never has to leave, who never has his station removed. Isaiah said the government shall be upon his shoulders. And I so that that's what brings me great comfort and strength and grounding when I'm in a place like. The airport on Easter Sunday morning, instead of being in a church, I've been in churches where we've had full orchestras and 100 member choirs, and it's just magnificent. But I was I was no less able to worship. Right there in commune with my savior in an airport. However lonely I might have felt, the reality is what scripture teaches that I wherever the spirit of the Lord is, there is peace, there's freedom, there's liberty. And I was no less able to worship him and to reflect on his goodness and his mercy, even while in an airport, even while in a hospital room with Gracie. Emmanuel, we went through Christmas together in the hospital. Emmanuel, God with us. That's the whole point. That's his name. That's his name. And, and I, I wrote that out, and I put that in and I'm grateful that Fox decided to run it there's several pieces I have out there.

And I'd love for you to take a look at them and see what you think and love to hear from you. And you can go out to again Peter rosenberger.com we've got quite a bit going on with that and I've got getting Gracie's blog post which I think you'll find incredibly meaningful about what she did and how she responded when somebody came to her. Just as she'd finished her 90 seconds surgery she was tired, and somebody came to her bedside, who was struggling. And they were reaching out to her and she had just come back from recovery it was it was a C&A that was clocking out but she wanted to come by and see Gracie and talk to her and she was struggling with something and Gracie was in the article you'll see where she was saying you know I was tired, I just had surgery.

And I was struggling myself. But the title of the article is why I still show up after 92 surgeries, even after 92 surgeries why I still show up. And the reason of course is because he showed up. He doesn't call in sick. He showed up. And that is the glorious anchor to our faith.

I know this is a drive time show, and people are going home from work maybe it's been a long day. And I felt like some of you may be encouraged to know this I mean some of you are going home to a tough situation maybe you've got a marriage that's struggling right now, maybe you've got a family member that is going through some really difficult things or a sick family member and it just doesn't seem to get better or an alcoholic an addict or maybe you lost your job. And I wanted just to tell you, he shows up. He never leaves. He is risen, and he dwells within us and communes with us, even in a hospital, even in a crowded airport. And that is Truth Talk Live. This is Peter Rosenberger, Truth Talk Live 866-34-TRUTH if you want to weigh in about your Easter experiences like that 866-34-TRUTH. This is Peter Rosenberger, we'll be right back. Truth Talk Live You're listening to the Truth Network and truthnetwork.com Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. I am Peter Rosenberger, glad to be with you today. If you want to be a part of the program, share what's ever on your heart.

We were talking about just Easter, how it can be a bit different when you're in the airport, finding a banana peel in the seat pack in front of you. 866-34-TRUTH, 866-348-7884 is the number to call. I want to switch gears just a little bit. It's something I've been stewing on.

I was talking about it with the pastor. You know we do a prosthetic limb outreach, Gracie and I do. Once she gave up both of her legs, ending with hope. It's a phenomenal program that provides prosthetic limbs to her fellow amputees. We work mostly out of Ghana in West Africa, the city of Accra.

We've been partnering there with them for 20 years. What we do is we collect used prosthetic limbs from around the country. They go to a prison in Arizona run by an organization out of Nashville called CoreCivic. CoreCivic have inmates that volunteer to refurbish those limbs.

Let me rephrase that. They volunteer to recycle them. They take apart the limbs. We can use the feet and the knees and the pylons and all these things to be able to use those parts to help build another limb for someone else.

This carbon fiber and all kinds of things that need to be done to make a brand new socket. The whole purpose of this is to tell people about Jesus. That's something we've been doing for some time. We'd love for you to be a part of that by the way.

If you know somebody who has a used limb that they've outgrown, a child or so forth, we really need pediatric stuff. CoreCivic lets us partner with them because they have a lot of faith-based programs that inmates participate in so they don't have recidivism as much with these programs. They don't come back to prison.

Their lives become much more structured and many of them come to faith in these programs. It's very exciting for us to be able to partner with them on this. But we're always looking for used limbs. If you know somebody, maybe a family member passed away and they don't know what to do with the leg, please do not throw that away. Go out to our website, standingwithhope.com, donate a used limb under prosthetic limb ministry. Just click on that.

It's very easy to find. But do you know what the number one cause of amputation is worldwide? Do you happen to know? It's diabetes.

There's Wilford Brimley. But diabetes is the number one cause. Certainly on the younger children that we do, they have trauma.

They get hit by a car or motorcycle or something like that. But for adults, it's diabetes. Do you know why so many have diabetes?

It is because of the diet that people are eating. Foods that are heavy in starch and sugar but mostly heavy in starch. Breads and so forth that turn to sugar in our bodies.

Gracie's Protestant to me, he said, talking about Americans and so many people with diabetes in America said, we're killing ourselves with forks and knives. And oftentimes poorer people will eat food that's heavy in starch. It makes you feel like you're eating something, that your stomach is full. But full of what? And how is this good for you?

And over time, this tears your body apart. And we are trying to help people eat better food here in this country. We've got a massive, no pun intended, overweight and obesity problem here in this country. But like one of the things over in Ghana where we work, one of the staples they have in their diet is a thing called bancu and another one is fufu. There's basically corn. And it's like grits, which, listen, I'm a child of the south, I love grits. But you can't eat grits all the time. It's not good for you.

And look around at people who are eating food that is heavy in this kind of stuff. And it got me thinking about what about in our churches? What about in our doctrine? What about what we're preaching? Are we preaching the equivalent of a lot of starchy stuff or worse yet, frosted flakes? Or are we preaching the healthy word of God? We're giving meat to people to eat. And that's a good question, isn't it?

And I'll give you an example of what this looks like. God just loves you just the way you are. And no conditions. Well, is that true?

Is there no condition? You don't trust your heart. Really? Do you trust your heart? I don't trust mine. Scripture says the heart is exceedingly wicked. Jesus didn't trust Himself to anybody else because He knew their hearts. We don't trust our hearts. I don't trust my heart. And if a pastor tells me to trust my heart, I'm going to get another pastor. I trust God's heart.

I trust His heart, but not mine. But that stuff creeps in and it sounds real good, doesn't it? It's like eating cat and crunch for breakfast.

It tastes real good. But you can't do that all day long. You've got to have things that have substance to them.

You've got to have things that will strengthen you and equip you. Remember that story about Daniel and his buds when they were in Babylon? And they were supposed to eat all these foods and so forth. And Daniel said, let us eat our diet, what our God commands of us. And then you judge and see how healthy we are at the prescribed time.

That's the whole point of this. Are we teaching? Do we have that kind of proper teaching and doctrine going on in our churches? Are we hearing the whole counsel of God?

Do you know people in your circle who call themselves Christian? Are you able to articulate the plan of salvation? What the redemptive work of God means?

Why did God do this? What's the difference between grace and covering everybody? We just all get grace. Is that it?

Is that how it works? And I hear preachers preach on this and we talk a lot about grace. And I love grace. My wife's name is Grace.

I think grace is the most beautiful word in the English language. But don't you think for us to understand grace, we need to first hear the reason for grace? If we're going to always talk about the good news, don't you think we need to first address the bad news? That sin is a bigger problem than we think it is. Do we talk about sin? Do we talk about Jesus?

We do on this network. But is that what's going on? Do you get the feeling sometimes that people are very uncomfortable talking about Jesus and the blood of Jesus? They're very uncomfortable with this.

Why is that? And is that healthy? Are we creating a bunch of spiritual diabetics by just talking about how God's going to give you your breakthrough? I hear a lot of churches do that. They say, you know, God's going to show up and you're going to get your breakthrough and you're going to get this and you're going to get that. And I'm a big fan of the prosperity gospel. But not the prosperity gospel that I'm hearing taught.

The prosperity gospel that I cling to is that God has given us everything through Christ. We've already got our breakthrough. He's already showed up. We're not waiting for God to give us our this and this and this. He's already given us everything we need. My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches and glory through Christ Jesus. And the question is, we have to ask ourselves, Christian, do you believe that? Do you believe that? It doesn't mean He doesn't have things that He brings into our lives and that we wait on Him for certain things. I've been in the hospital for 13 weeks with my wife with now her ninth surgery that's going to happen on Friday.

For this particular run, that makes 95 total. We understand having to wait on the Lord. But we also understand that He's given us everything that we could ever, ever hope for. Anything.

Because He's given us Himself. We had a bit of a setback this morning. I'll tell you about that probably in the next block. Things that Gracie and I have had to struggle with medically that happened today.

I'll tell you how we dealt with that. But I think this is the thing we want to ask ourselves. Are we creating spiritual diabetics and preaching a cotton candy message? Or are we speaking the truth of the Gospel in such a profound way? And are we clearly articulating what God has said in Scripture? The whole counsel of God. And these are, well, it's a good question isn't it? And I've thought about the correlation of that with diabetics because I see that in the patients we treat.

The food that they eat. And I would put on prosthetics. We built a leg for somebody that lost their leg to diabetes.

And I would pull them aside and their family. I said, okay, you're going to have to change the diet. This will kill you.

You've already lost a leg. Let's stop now. Let's change the diet. Let's back away from the stuff that you've been eating.

The bancu, the fufu, the grits, the frosted flakes, all those kinds of stuff. But now as Christians, do we need to also change the diet? Do we need to recognize that we've got to dig deeper into Scripture?

We don't cherry pick things that tell us what we want to hear and scratch our ears a little bit, tickle our ears. But we expose the things in our life that need to be exposed through the whole counsel of God. Is your preacher doing that?

Does anybody ever talk? Does anybody preach on that? Is your preacher doing that? Do you feel like you're hearing that message? Like I said, it's hard to cry out to a Savior that you don't think you need.

And if we're just telling everybody how good they are in their good hearts and all this, you know, having one big kumbaya, it seems like we're missing quite a bit, don't you? That's what Scripture teaches. I love what Peter preached when he stood in front of those guys and said, This Jesus that you crucified, I mean, he really gave it to them. Stephen did the same thing.

They killed him. But he stood up and preached the counsel of God. And that is Truth Talk Live. This is Peter Rosenberger, 866 34 Truth.

We'll be right back. You're listening to the Truth Network and truthnetwork.com. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live.

This is Peter Rosenberger. Glad to be with you today. 866 34 Truth, 866 34 884. Let's go to the phones.

Kevin in Virginia, story about his family. Kevin, good afternoon. How are you feeling? I'm feeling great, Peter. How about yourself? Hope you're having a great day. We're doing the best we can with what we got. Tell me about your family.

I know how that feels. Yeah, I was listening to your message earlier about how the Holy Spirit never leaves you and just felt compelled to give you our journey. Back in February 14th of 21, we lost our son, a 24-year-old son that was a student at Liberty going to be a PA to do medical missions trips. He loved missions. He actually died of a simple sinus infection that never got treated, but it was COVID time.

He didn't die of COVID, but COVID is really what killed him. But anyway, so after he passed, the devil, of course, was getting in my mind and was saying, you know, you didn't do all you could do to save your son and was making me kind of question myself and I cried out to God and well, he answered, let me tell you. Anyway, my mother-in-law had passed away the month before and her house was available and we were actually at that time living out at Smith Mountain Lake and decided to move back to Roanoke, so we took her house and it had to do some renovations and so I called up what I thought was a contractor to come over to give me an estimate and he showed up and got out of a truck that said his company's name and we were walking up to the door and he made the statement, I have four sons and I said, oh wow, you're very blessed. I said, well I had two, but one just went to be with God and he said, Mr. Dean, I know that.

Sorry, hold on. He said, God has sent me to tell you that it was not your fault and that we know that you didn't want to lose your son, but we're going to do great things in his name. During his funeral, we had asked for, instead of flowers, just to make a donation to this missionary that Aaron was real close to and he needed some money to go for his language training in the Philippines and he needed $5,000. Well, believe it or not, of course, that's what we got. So I said that. I said, oh, you're talking about the deal with Jesse. He said, oh no. He said, we're going to do great things in his name. I said, well, wow, okay.

It just blew me away. So I said, well, okay, do you need to come on in and take some measurements? He said, oh yeah, I'll do that. He walked in and did some measurements and we prayed together and he left.

A week went by, he never called to give me an estimate and I called the number that I had called him before and it was a whole other company and they had no clue about this guy. I'll just tell you, it was an angel. I'm fully convinced. Since then, we've started a foundation called Aaron's Mission and what we do is we aid missionaries in the field.

In the four years that we've had it, we've seen God do some great things. I just wanted you listeners to know. Well, I appreciate you sharing that, Kevin. I want to back up to something here.

I won't leave you. He won't. He doesn't and he promised he wouldn't. I want to back up to something you said a minute ago when you felt like the devil was trying to convince you that it was your fault and I would imagine you're probably not the first person that has experienced that. Like I really have anything to do with God's plan. Well, I think that's the way you counteract with the devil. What does the scripture say about that? He says that we're having a hard time to rely on God and he will fight your battles for you.

Well, and the fact that not a hair on your head. Was your son a Christian? Oh, yes, sir. He was a big time Christian. We just had Easter, so go back to that night of the Last Supper. Now, there were two people that betrayed Jesus that night.

Tell me both of them. Who betrayed Jesus that night? It was Judas and Peter. Right. And to Judas he said, do what you must do quickly. Remember that?

Yes, sir. And it said Satan entered Judas. He left. And later on it said Judas was a devil from the beginning. But what did he say to Peter? He said, Peter, Simon, Satan has asked for permission to sift you like wheat, but I have prayed for you and when you come through this, strengthen your brethren. Jesus said very clearly, Peter belonged to Jesus, the devil from the beginning. Satan had to ask for permission to do anything.

And Jesus said, but I have prayed for you and when you come through, not if you come through this, but when you come through it. Your son belonged to Christ. Satan had to ask for permission to do anything.

Satan did not have any kind of authority over him. He belonged to Christ, as do you. So when you feel those ways and those thoughts that come at you, counter them with Scripture.

This goes back to what I was talking about before. We don't want to have a bunch of spiritual diabetics in this country. We want to be able to stand firm on the Word of God and you push back on that with the Word of God because that's what your Savior did. Your son belonged to Christ and now he's with him in eternity and he's joining that great throng of witnesses cheering us all on.

And guess what? Belong to Christ. Satan doesn't have any authority over you.

He has to ask for permission to do anything. And according to the Heidelberg Catechism written back in 1563, not a hair from your head falls that is outside of his sovereignty. And I go back to that wonderful statement I lean on.

If he is Lord at all, Kevin, then he is Lord of all. And we don't always like it when things happen, these things, and they're very painful. I get that. I'm there. I get it. It's painful.

It's difficult. And that's when he says, I am with you. I am with you.

The word Emmanuel, we celebrate that at Christmas time, but that's a year-round thing as well. God with us. Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world. Yea, though I walked through the valley of the shadow of death, and you did.

You and your family did. And I will fear not for what? Thou art with me. And that is what strengthens us. That is what comforts us. And we can say, no matter what's happening in our life, Father, be glorified in this.

And I saw that this morning with my wife in the hospital. And it's one of those things, Kevin, that we counteract those thoughts. We do not allow Satan to torment us. We counteract the scripture with the word of God.

And we're not going to be able to do that if we don't dig into it. And hear that solid preaching that is saying, this is what the scriptures say. Don't ever forget, he told Peter, I have prayed for you. And guess what, Kevin? Your Savior is praying for you.

I really appreciate it, Peter. You have a great intercessor who says to the Father, this one's mine. And who belongs to Christ? Nothing's going to separate. What does Paul say? Nothing's going to separate us from the love of God, which is through Christ Jesus.

Not death, not anything. And guess what, your Son is eternally with Christ. You will see him again.

For a season, you're not going to. But you will. And we will all rejoice in that. In the meantime, his Spirit comforts you, strengthens you, equates you to stand firm. His legacy is doing great things.

God is doing great things. Kevin, thank you so much for taking the time to share your story and your family with us. God bless you.
