The Trump administration is facing a government shutdown deadline, and lawmakers are debating a continuing resolution to avoid it. Meanwhile, Congressman Eric Burleson is advocating for Medicaid reform to address the growing national debt and fiscal conservatism. The discussion also touches on term limits, NGOs, and grift, as well as the importance of Christianity and the threat of radical Islam and terrorism in the Middle East.

President Trump is moving at lightning speed. Billions of dollars in waste, fraud, and abuse. Executive orders, new policies, promises kept. It's hard to keep up until now. Subscribe to the Trump Report.

This email brings you daily highlights from the Oval Office right to your inbox five days a week. The golden age of America begins right now. It'll help you follow President Trump at the speed of Trump.

Well live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's America's favorite gun totem, Bible-clanging, deplorable American. That's right. I love this American ride. Touch dark. Don't panic, America.

Just stop. Ladies and gentlemen, geez a loop. Uh first, welcome to the Todd Sterns Radio Show. Second, I I don't know about you, but Daylight saving time, kick my kick by blessed assurance. Wow, it was, I am having a hard time.

I'm a little sluggish, but getting out of the gate. Anyway, good to have you with us. But most importantly, don't panic. I understand that Twitter X is down. It's been on.

It's been off. It's causing all sorts of chaos across America. Don't worry. We're going to get you through the crisis, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome again to the program.

We've got a lot going on today. And this is a big, big, big. Big, big day and a big week for the Trump administration. Most importantly, The continuing resolution that will have to be passed if, in fact, we want to see President Trump's agenda fulfilled.

So, we're going to keep you up to date on that. We're going to keep you up to date on those developments. Democrats are going to be no votes here. We also understand Congressman Thomas Massey is a no-vote. And here's the reality.

This i if if if this was a Democrat presidency, all the Republicans would be voting against this because it doesn't do anything to we it all it does where the spending levels continue.

So again, the idea that the Republicans are fiscally conservative.

Well, I hope one day they are, but right now they're not, and this continuing resolution does not do that. And you need to hear that, ladies and gentlemen, because I'm not carrying water for anybody. We just have a conversation on the radio every day. And I know that's going to aggravate a lot of you folks. There you go.

I knew that man was a liberal. He's a closet liberal. No, I'm a fiscal conservative. And right now we're not conserving money. As a matter of fact, one of the big things about Doge, and I appreciate Elon and his team as they get out there and they are working around the clock to make sure that we root out all of this wasteful spending.

But the reality is, Congress has to step in and make sure that we either get our money back or that this money is no longer allocated to these organizations. And if we don't, we're just going to turn right around in the next whatever Democrat administration and they will reinstate these funds.

So it's very important for us to get out there and to bulldog this. And that means you've got to be picking up the phone, you've got to be calling your elected leaders, and you've got to be telling them that you expect those people to be fiscally conservative with your money.

Now, a couple of things here before we jump into some of the other big stories of the day. The Doge people have uncovered, and this is just a stunning, stunning amount of money. $312 million. And that three hundred and twelve million dollars was given to children. who own small businesses.

I know many of you are shocked by that, but the Department of Government Efficiency reports that children eleven years old and younger 11 years old and younger received $312 million in Small Business Administration loans.

Okay.

So I have a lot of questions here. First of all, how are the grade schoolers able to get through all of the government paperwork? There's a lot of that to fill out. I'm also curious, are we not doing credit checks on anybody? No credit checks at all for small business administration loans.

We're just handing out loans to preschoolers? Maybe that there's a reason why your four-year-old now has 75 tickle-me elbows and every Barbie every Barbie that was made by man.

Now, when I was a kid, I had a paper out. I worked my little butt off, rode my Huffy around. I think I had a big wheel once, but that was difficult. When I got a little bit older, Bowed Grants, my very first, I would say. Job, real job, where you had to go and you had a boss and you had to work with others.

I worked at Popeye's Fried Chicken and Biscuits. I was a cashier. And then I got promoted to biscuit maker. That was. Very enjoyable.

Yeah. Got a twenty-five cent an hour raise for going to biscuit school. All that to say, my dad made sure that I had a pretty darn strong work ethic in my life, and I'm glad he did. And I can appreciate these old youngsters here, these kiddos. They want to take advantage of every opportunity, and they want to learn how to start a business and run a business.

But I'm just wondering: what is a four- and a five-year-old doing running a small business? Can someone please help me understand that? It's not like we're over in Southeast Asia and we're running sweatshops here, right? I'm just trying to get my head wrapped around that.

So, anyway, it turns out that they have no idea where this money went. The Social Security numbers, nothing's adding up.

So they they say all of this money was just given to these children, eleven years old and younger. Do you know how many cups of lemonade a kid's going to have to sell to make that kind of cash? I'm telling you, something's not right there.

So, while that's going on, there's a story out of San Antonio. Where they were providing billions, billions of dollars. To a shelter that was supposed to house illegals. Like children. And it's been empty.

There's nobody staying there, and yet this San Antonio nonprofit is still getting all of this cash. Courtesy of you, the American taxpayers. Cut 14, please. Our report on endeavors was viewed millions of times after being reposted by Elon Musk. His Department of Government Efficiency, or DOE, initially uncovered the group's contract and had it canceled.

Endeavors, established in the 1960s, provided housing and wellness services for military veterans and the homeless. But in 2021, its mission and its revenues expanded when it landed a government contract to house unaccompanied migrant teenagers. The teens, ages 13 to 17, were housed in a shelter in Pecos in West Texas, where they received medical care and counseling, including visits from therapy dogs and gardening activities. 2021 disclosure forms show more than half a million dollars went to pay for music therapy. A source within Endeavors, who did not want to be identified due to restrictions in the government contract, said the therapy was necessary because the teens from Honduras and other countries had been through traumatizing experiences.

The source who provided these images says Endeavors was one of 15 organizations given contracts in 2021 when unaccompanied migrants Miners were sleeping on the floor of customs and border protection facilities due to an overwhelming immigration surge. The Endeavors shelter was occupied from March 2021 to March 2023 and again from September 2023 to February 2024, during which Endeavors claims to have served 40,000 unaccompanied minors. In March 2024, when the government stopped using the shelter, Endeavors says its expenses continued because the contract required it to stay at 24-7 operational readiness, paying to lease the property, medical facilities, vaccine refrigeration, and hundreds of cameras required for security. In a post on X, the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOE, said terminating the contract saves taxpayers $215 million annually. Again, that number, $215 million, we were spending to take care.

Well, we originally thought to take care of illegals, the children of the illegals, but now it turns out it's just empty, just empty. $218 million of your tax money, ladies and gentlemen. This is simply unacceptable. I know a lot of you folks watching us on our our Facebook Live say this is insanity. Little children getting SBA loans.

That's called money laundering. Of course it is. David, thank you for writing in. This is insanity. And by the way, Hear me on this.

The reason why the Democrats are so enraged right now, I mean, they are literally out there calling for violence in the streets. People are going out there, and these leftist net jobs are attacking Tesla dealerships. They're setting these cyber trucks on fire. I've never seen anything like this. They are ready for a revolution.

And why is that? Because they know the jig is up. They know it's over. That that th they've been caught By the way, and they're all doing this, the Republicans too, ladies and gentlemen.

So here's how it works.

So it's not that the lawmakers are getting this money and these checks sent directly to them. Many of them have spouses, many of them have children, and they're setting up these so-called NGOs, these nonprofits. And they're getting tens of millions of dollars. Ladies and gentlemen, you're right. It is absolute money laundering.

And I know this is going to trouble some of you. But I believe, based on the level of grift and corruption that has thus far been uncovered. That the only option to save and salvage our government. is for term limitations. And we can figure out what that looks like.

But there's no reason why these people should be serving in Washington, D.C., longer than two terms if you're a senator. And you can figure out, we can reconfigure how we do the House of Representatives with elections every two years. We can figure all of that out. But I'm telling you, a Senate term, six years, you're talking 12 years. There's no reason why those people can't come back after that term and become a gainful citizen, a gainfully employed citizen on their time and not the American taxpayers.

Because right now, not only are we funding Congress, we're funding one of the fanciest senior citizen assisted living homes in America. All right, we've got to take a quick break here, folks. Our telephone number is 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926.

Now, we have launched an effort this month to Really, do something that I think is important, that I am passionate about, and we're helping children. Making sure they actually have good food. Making sure they don't go to bed hungry. And one of the ways that we're doing that is we're partnering with a Christian ministry, Food for the Poor. These people don't get a single dime from our government.

This is a legitimate charity, ladies and gentlemen, a legitimate charity. And we're raising $20,000, and that money is going directly to feeding kids. You give $100, you're going to feed a child for an entire year. And that's pretty awesome.

So, again, this is a legitimate ministry. They don't get any government funding at all. That's why we're stepping in to the gap and we're letting you know about a need.

Now, I was talking to our team here, and we are putting together some brand new customized Todd Starn show hats. And everybody, this is just today and today only. If you give $20. We're going to put you into a contest to win a Todd Stern Show hat. We're going to throw in some books and some other great stuff.

So tomorrow is. When Mike Johnson has scheduled a vote on this continuing resolution. It will Keep the government open. If not, there will be a partial government shutdown. I don't think it's going to matter all that much.

But anyway. The House Reading Caucus, they're on board with this. Everybody's on board with it. Even though it doesn't do anything, this continuing resolution doesn't cut anything. But President Trump says we need it to fund his efforts.

So the gist here is you got to spend more money now to save money down the road. That's the working theory here. Thomas Massey, so far the only Republican no vote on this continuing resolution.

So we'll keep you updated on that. I want to play some audio. This is Stacey Abrams. Wow. Remember her?

She is President of the Federation in Star Trek. She is a failed gubernatorial candidate in the state of Georgia, and she is a professional grifter. Oh, she also writes. Cheap romance novels. Anyway, Stacey Abrams got $2 billion from the Biden EPA.

And I want you to listen to, she's now explaining what she did with this $2 billion. Cut seven. The program at the source of this whole thing. Is a program to lower costs for people. Do I have that top line correct?

You have it absolutely right.

Okay, so I'm going to play what he had to say, and then I'm going to ask you to explain what the program is that was such an obvious, ludicrous laugh line for the Republicans there. Take a list. $1.9 billion to recently created decarbonization of homes committee. Headed up. And we know she's involved.

Just at the last moment, the money was passed over. By a woman named Stacey Abrams. Have you ever heard of her?

Okay, so what is this organization? What is your relationship to it? And what does it do? In 2023 and 2024, I led a program Called Vitalizing the Soda. We worked in a tiny town in South Georgia to demonstrate that.

By replacing it Energy inefficient appliances with efficient appliances, you can lower your cost. And in fact, we accomplished that for 75% of the community. They got appliances that are lowering their bills right now. We had one woman who saw her electric bill cut in half from $180 to $98. That's what we delivered.

And based on that program, a coalition of organizations. Yeah. Famous organizations came together and said to the EPA: If we can do this here, we can do this for millions more Americans. Let us invest the money of America in lowering the cost for Americans. And the EPA said, Okay, great, go for it.

Okay, so she's readily acknowledging that this is what she did. But here's the problem here. They didn't tell you the rest of the story. I'm going to tell you the rest of the story coming up after the break because what Stacey Abrams has done here is absolutely criminal. Criminal, ladies and gentlemen.

Happy to have you with us today.

So, Stacey Abrams. Got $2 billion. from the Biden administration. And she said that all of this money was actually being used to purchase New appliances for people in a town in Georgia to see if it might cut down on the cost.

So they wanted to make sure that these people were saving money on their electric bills and things of that nature. All right.

So $2 billion.

Now, when you heard the original reporting, you heard that she was, you know, the prototype was a small community down in Georgia.

So I was able to track down this information over the weekend. The town she was referring to is a small town near Americus in South Georgia. The name of the town is DeSoto, Georgia. This town only has about one hundred all right, we'll be generous, one hundred and fifty residents.

So Stacey Abrams wants you to believe that she spent two billion dollars $2 billion to provide stoves and refrigerators and washing machines and dryers for 150 people. That means everybody in town gets one. We're not talking about 150 households, we're talking about 150 people total. You could buy all of that. By the way, we did the math on that as well.

You want a refrigerator, microwave oven. You'll want a washing machine and dryer and stove with an oven. That's okay, $20,000. And that's going to get you some really nice appliances. But Stacey Abrams would have you believe that she spent all of that money, that $2 billion, on a small town of 150 people in South Georgia.

Do you understand what's going on now, ladies and gentlemen? They have been funneling, they have been funding all of these radical left-wing organizations. And Stacey Abrams is a radical left-wing activist. They've been using your tax money and they've been laundering it through the so-called NGOs. That's what's been going on here.

Unbelievable you know, with that money they could have thrown in a new car. That's what's going on here. And that's why that's why these Democrats are completely unhinged right now, is they know that the money is going away. And they don't know what to do about it. And it's going to get ugly, it's going to get violent.

It's going to be very, very ugly. 901-260-5926 is our telephone number. That's 901-260-5926.

Now. I'm not a big fan of this uh of the reality T V world. I watch a few shows. I like the one Top Chef is good. And then I watch the stuff, you know, okay, I watch Master Chef.

I love Gordon Ramsey. He loves to yell at people. I enjoy that.

So if it's a cooking show, you know, I love that. Duck Dynasty back in the day, that was a great show. Anyway, there's a new show, or I guess it's been around for a long time called Love is Blind. Is that right? And Dylan, I understand you and you and the missus actually.

Yeah, we dabble in Love is Blind, yeah. All right.

So the way this works, and I don't know if Dieter is aware of this as well, but from my understanding, it's that you go on this show. And you have guys and you have gals, and what they never actually get to date in person. Is that how it works? Yeah, there's like a dating phase, so it's called the pods.

So they never see each other, they can only speak to each other the whole time they're in there. And then, so at the end of it, you what, get married? How does that work? The gist is you're supposed to get engaged, and it's only like. like maybe a month that you're talking to these people and then you get engaged.

And that's when they finally see each other and do the whole you know, honeymoon thing and then the They date and see if it actually works out. All right.

So there was this is blowing up in conservative social media.

So there was, I guess, a recent episode, and there's Sarah. Who, by the way, is very attractive. I mean, she's a very good looking person. And then there's Ben, the fiancé, right? And so they show up at the altar.

And I guess that is that where they say their I do's or their I don'ts? Yeah, it's like you say I do or you walk away forever. That's like the line.

Okay.

And my understanding is that this chick, she was really in love with this guy up until a certain point. Yeah. And here's how here's what happened. I love you so much. But I've always wanted a partner to be on the same Wavelength.

And so today I can't. I'm sorry, but I don't want that to be misunderstood. I still love you, and everything about you is amazing. And I care about you so much. I care about you too.

And I love you so much. And I know I want to stay with you. and keep growing our relationship if you allow. We'll see. Was it like the time frame?

I mean, I knew the whole time coming into this, the time frame, like, that's not, like, I feel like I know him. Like really? Yeah. Like I remember Like I asked him about like Black Lives Matter and I'm no expert. But like when I asked him about it, he was like, I guess I never really thought too much about it.

That affected me, especially in our own city. Like how could it not? How did it not make you think about something? I asked him too, like what his church is. views are and he said he didn't know.

And Uh So then I watched a sermon online. From his church. About, yeah, sexual identity.

Okay.

And it was traditional. I told that to Ben. And just doesn't really have much to say about it, you know? And wants him to think about that stuff.

So so what you just heard, the last int of that, she's in the car with like her mom or somebody somebody, a couple of other women, and they're like doing the debrief. And I kind of felt bad for the guy. He's they she just left the poor guy at the altar in front of everybody. It was sad, yeah. I got a little misty.

I have no emotional investment in this show whatsoever. And I'm like, dude, I'm like, sorry, man. Because it's not like he was ugly or anything, right? I mean, he was a pretty good-looking guy. She was a great-looking woman.

But the reality is, she could not handle the fact that he attended a Christian church, a Bible-believing church. And also, he wasn't plugged into the whole alphabet activist community. And he did not support, he was ambivalent towards Black Lives Matter. I guess, guys, here's the thing: you're going out and you're meeting somebody for the first time, and they ask you, Oh, so what do you do? You know, where'd you go to school?

So, how do you feel about Black Lives Matter? It's romantic, isn't it? It's a dreamy question to ask. You know, they asked, she asked him in the pods what he thought about Black Lives Matter, like, as one of the first questions. And it's just like, okay, I'm trying to, what's your first name?

Like, can we start there? She reminds me of one of these I mean, well, she is. She's a feminazi. She is a woke radical leftist Karen. And I think this guy dodged a bullet.

For sure.

Well, and she also was asking this young male that she. Would ultimately enter this union with what his stance was on the COVID vaccines. Like, I mean, Way to get to the nut of your relationship, right? Of all the questions you want to know, I mean, how many kids do you want? What are your financials?

What's your relationship with your parents? No, it was: are you in support of the mRNA vaccine? Are you in support of George Floyd? How about and she goes on and on. Guys, I'm just curious.

I didn't know her age, so she's either an old Gen Zer or she's at the young end of the millennials. I think that our culture and education system have ruined females. In this age demographic, because I suspect there are a lot more. I mean, when you look at all the protests that are happening out there, the people marching in the streets, screaming in the woods, running around buck naked, they're mostly. Millennial-aged women.

Who've completely lost it. What happens? I just think, Dylan, so they have to meet in the pods, right? These are crazy. I mean, the fact that you're.

Finding love, can we start there? This 28-year-old chick is finding love on a reality TV show. I think that's the first red flag, right? Like, if you have to find it by going on, Love is Blind. I think all these people want to be influencers too.

Like that's the thing with reality T V. They You know. They just want to be famous. And it's just, it's not authentic a lot of times.

So it's to your point, yeah. It's just, why are you going there to find love? I want to give some advice to the young men listening to this show. I know your bride, or your girlfriend, your fiancé, she may be smoking hot. But if that's all there is, and the rest of it is Black Lives Matter.

Go, go, lesbians, or what? I don't think that's going to work for you. I I really don't, because the beauty will fade. And then you're left with a, what, an aged-old activist. No, you're going to die early.

This is why men die early because of relationships like this. Yeah, this is why prenups exist. You better get a prenup real quick. Let's say. If she's a BLM activist.

Let's say this guy would have gotten married, and like 10 years from now, you know, he develops an illness and he tells the doctor, you know what? I don't want to take the meds. Just let me go. Let me go now. Let me live in peace.

Yeah. So here's what I think is the takeaway here. You've got to be equally yoked. What does the pastor talk about being equally yoked? And when it comes to some of these, I know this is like a fun culture war topic: Black Lives Matter, COVID, vaccines, religion, but some of these things are deal breakers.

And you kind of want to figure that out maybe after date one. And not when she's standing in white. She is literally in her dress. He has the tux on and the bow tie. You want to have those discussions, and you may disagree with someone on date one, and you work through it, and maybe there's a date two, but you don't just go straight to the marriage altar.

You see, for me, it would have been the Black Lives Matter question. I'm out of the pod at that point. And are you allowed to do that? Are you allowed to jettison the pod? I mean, you're speed dating, so there's other girls in the show.

Yeah, he should have gone on. Yeah, that's so that's on him. Yeah, sorry, Ben. Uh, that's not you, Ben. I'm the um love is blind, Ben.

Yeah, that's at that point, that's on you. But I'm curious, ladies and gentlemen, do you see, you know, Dieter here has a point that you're you're almost unequally yoked now. There's no way, I just don't see how a Democrat and Republican. marriage could actually work in modern day America. I don't get it.

The differences are just too great. What did they do back in the olden times, Todd? When you're at a bar, so maybe not a pod, you're at a bar or a restaurant. Did people talk about politics back in the day when you're I don't know, grabbing a drink after work.

So, normally, what would happen is when the husband came home from work and the wife was in her dress with the high heels making the casserole, the tuna casserole in the kitchen, she would say, Honey, we have to go and vote on Monday. Who should I vote for? And then the husband would tell the wife who to vote for. And that's you laugh, but that's kind of how it was. You're in so much trouble.

No, I'm just a historian sharing the facts. You may not like the history, but that's the history. But you know what? It worked. Because we got great, that's right.

We had great candidates back in the day. But then along comes JFK, and the reason why JFK got elected, aside from stealing all the votes in West Virginia and Chicago, it was he was good looking, and all the ladies flocked to the polls to vote for JFK. You know what, guys? I think I am getting in trouble here. But it's true.

I'm just telling you, you know, a lot of the times that's how that would go. You asked, and I'm explaining. For the most part, that's how it played out. Yeah. Now you have to check a million different boxes to even get day two.

They don't get a single penny from the government. They rely on Christians helping these children. And your generosity is making that happen.

Crazy story out of Los Angeles County. There is a church and they worship on the beach. I love this. It's called Church on the Beach. They've been doing this for 18 years.

They have about 150 people, and they show up every Sunday on Redondo Beach. That's there in Los Angeles County, and they hold their church service. It's a huge beach.

Well, now the Department of Beaches and Harbors has intervened, and they're telling the church they can no longer do that. They say it is now going to be against the rules for a church to hold a religious service on the beach.

However, they are allowed to hold six activities per year on the beach. But for those activities, they would be charged $250. That's insanity. By the way, the Department of Beaches and Harbor says. The rules only apply to church groups.

The American Center for Law and Justice is now representing Church on the Beach, and they say the government has broken the law. This is flat-out discrimination, and they're telling the county they better reconsider or they're going to take them to court, they're going to sue. We're going to keep you updated on this story. This is just unacceptable. I mean, would you rather have.

People worshiping Jesus on the beach are running around buck-naked, stabbing each other. Come on. Seems pretty simple to me. All right, hang tight, everybody. Hour two of the big show coming up.

Something very tragic has been happening, and it hasn't made a lot of news. But This is a story that we should be concerned about. As much as I love the Jewish people, I happen to be a Christian, a person of the Christian faith. And as horrified as I was about what happened in Israel in October when the Muslims waged jihad on Israeli soil, I'm also extremely troubled. when the same thing happens to Christians in the Middle East.

And the fact of the matter is that Christians have been under siege, and yet the mainstream media, if you've noticed, they just turn a blind eye to that, right?

So you've got. You've got this horrible situation happening and unfolding in Syria right now where there is a literal genocide. A literal genocide.

Now In the media, at least here in America now, if there is anti-Semitism, that becomes a major story. Wall-to-wall coverage. But when Christians are attacked, when Christians are slaughtered, nobody cares. Nobody cares at all. Have you noticed that?

And it just seems to me that the administration needs to be making this a top priority. Because I am telling you here, folks, and I want you to listen very carefully to what I'm about to say. The Muslims are waging a worldwide jihad right now. If you haven't picked up on that. And it is happening all over the world, and it will happen here in this nation as well.

But I want to play something. That President Trump said 10 years ago.

Now, there was a moment when. And don't get me wrong here, all right? And this goes back, we're going to do a little bit of history, a little deep dive into history. But the Shah of Iran was actually installed by America, the CIA. It was a covert operation.

And during the Shah's reign, There was great peace in Iran. Tehran was literally described as the Paris of the Middle East. It was a place that you would want to go on vacation. But the Shaw was also a brutal dictator. It's a question that we're facing now.

Would you rather have a brutal dictator who keeps the peace? And make sure that the radical Muslims aren't going around blowing people up. Would you rather what would you rather have? You can either have that kind of a person or you can have the Ayatollahs. And Unfortunately The Ayatollah took control.

You can say, well, Todd, are you supporting brutal dictators? No, I'm just saying if the choice is between a brutal dictator who is pro-America and An Ayatollah, a Muslim cleric who wants us all dead. I'm going to go with the brutal dictator. It's a pretty simple thing for me. But a lot of my fellow Christians And these are the never Trump Christians, the Christianity Today, David French, Russell Moore type Christians.

They're out there and they were among well, I wouldn't say they, but the never Trump Christians in general were among the loudest voices saying that Assad had to be overthrown. He had to be toppled. And the reason why is because Assad was a friend to Russia.

Well, you know what? Assad was also a friend to the United States, and yes, again, he was a brutal dictator. But the fact of the matter is this. The Muslims hate us and they hate our way of living. They hate everything we stand for.

Over the weekend, you had, I don't know, hundreds of maybe even thousands of people marching the streets, transgender people dressed up in their drag queen outfits, the whole nine yards, marching for Palestinians, for the Palestinians. These people are idiots. But worse than that, they're stupid idiots. And I say that because why in the world would you march in support of a regime and a way of life that wants to literally kill you? Slaughter you.

Somebody was talking the other day. About um About the drag queens. And it was a state lawmaker. It's a modern-day genocide against the Treans people. No, no, no, no, no, no, sir, ma'am, whatever you are.

The genocide is literally happening in Middle Eastern countries. You go out and tell somebody that you're gay, you're trans in a Middle Eastern country, they're going to escort you to the top floor, the roof, and then they're going to give you the heave-ho. That's the reality of it. These people aren't thinking right. And by the way, this is what killed me.

I'm getting, I know I'm. Bear with me here, folks. I know I'm getting off focus, but I want to illustrate a point here. And they say that. Christianity is such a horrible thing.

And I'm talking about the alphabet activist. It's so oppressive. They hate us. They hate us. Under the Judeo-Christian values that flavor every single one of our founding documents.

You can be whoever you want to be without fear of being persecuted. You see, here in this country, they're not throwing gay people off the rooftops. That's happening in the Middle Eastern countries. Here in this country, if you're a grown man with with facial hair and back hair, and you look like some sort of a wildebeest, you have the right under the US Constitution to go down to T J Max and buy yourself a sparkly dress, put on a feather boa, wear high heels down at Payless Shoe Stores, and you can frolic as the day is long. That is your right under the Constitution, God bless America.

But you're only able to do that in this country because of the Christians. You have a choice. That's what I'm saying.

So, anyway, back to what's happening in Syria. Ten years ago, President Trump. He got so much flack over this, but he said, Look, here's what's going to happen because he was backing Assad. And what did he say? What did he say about Assad?

He said, Well, it's better than the alternative. Oh, you're just Trump's just a he's what is it that Jasmine Crockett said? He be Putin's hoe. He's Putin's hoe That's what Jasmine Crockett said, by the way, not Todd Stearns, Jasmine Crockett.

So here's what Trump said 10 years ago, predicting what would happen if Assad was toppled. Cut number eight.

So I've watched Assad, and I've watched a little bit on the other side. The problem is the other side of Assad, we have no idea who they are. They probably are ISIS. I'm saying, are we better off with Assad? We have no idea who these people are.

We give them weapons, we give them ammunition, we give them everything. Aaron, we have no idea who, I mean, maybe it's worse than Assad.

So what are we doing? Why are we involved? We have to get rid of ISIS, very importantly. But I look at Assad, and Assad to me looks better than the other side. And you know, this has happened before.

We back a certain side, and that side turns out to be a total catastrophe. Russia likes Assad, seemingly a lot. Let them worry about ISIS. Let them fight it out. Yeah, exactly.

What is what? Why do we have to be involved?

So then. President Trump, and we're going to do another flashback here, because President Trump is explaining the truth about Islam. And we've heard this before, right?

Well, not all Muslims are terrorists. No, but all terrorists are Muslims. And there are a whole lot of them. And if you're saying only 1%, that's still millions of people we're talking about. But President Trump Spoke truth about Islam.

Cut number nine. Do you think Islam is at war with the West? I think Islam. hate us. There's something there that there's a tremendous hatred there.

There's a tremendous hatred. We have to get to the bottom of it. There is an unbelievable hatred of us in Islam itself. You're going to have to figure that out, okay? You'll get another Pulitzer, right?

But you're going to have to figure that out. But there is a tremendous. Hatred. And we have to be very vigilant, we have to be very careful, and we can't allow people coming into this country who have this hatred. of the United States and of people that are not Muslim.

And it's true. And let me say this about Assad. he allowed the Christians to practice their faith without being persecuted. I appreciate that. But right now, there is a mass genocide underway.

Over the weekend, some of the most horrifying images I've seen, people are literally losing their heads, they are beheading people, they're chopping off their heads because they're followers of Jesus Christ. Why is this not wall-to-wall coverage? I was listening to CBS News. Over a thousand people were killed in Syria today. No, they're Christians and they're being slaughtered by the Muslims, but nobody wants to talk about that.

And Donald Trump is right. They do hate us, they hate everything about us. You know why? Because we are one nation under God. not Allah, were one nation under God.

And they hate that. And they want to kill all of us. They do. They want to kill, and this is the order they want to kill us. The LGBT crowd, then the Christians, then the Jews.

They want to kill all of us. I'm just saying you got to be careful. These people are playing with fire.

Now, Tulsi Gambert, she warned everybody about this just a couple of weeks ago, CUD 11. I shed no tears for the fall of the Assad regime, but today we have an Islamist extremist who is now in charge of Syria, as I said, who danced on the streets to celebrate the 9-11 attack, who ruled over Idlib with an Islamist extremist governance, and who has already begun to persecute and kill and arrest religious minorities like Christians in Syria. I understand. Why that should be acceptable to anyone is beyond me. It should certainly not be in our own.

I appreciate it. Yeah, I'm with you. A perfect world, right? Go back to what happened in Iraq. How many thousands of American men and women were killed or slaughtered as a result of what happened in Iraq?

Those people didn't want freedom. They didn't want our way of life. They want to live however they want to live. And that should be their decision. I don't know about you, but I'm sick and tired of losing American lives for another country that doesn't even want what we have.

Let them be. Let them fight it out. Why is it our business? That's all I'm saying. All right, we got to take a break here.

All right, time now for a look at crime news across America. Keeping you updated on crimes sweeping across the fruity plain. I ain't getting no pop-up colour! Put that. This is the Starnes A B Dateline, Memphis, Tennessee, ladies and gentlemen.

A man shot early this morning. by an unusual suspect. Police say the suspect is um Well identified as Sparky. Has four paws. And is on the run.

Authorities say that a man was shot. He was in bed with a woman when his dog jumped up and got his paw stuck in the trigger of the gun. The dock The dog ended up pulling the trigger, shooting his owner in the left thigh. The woman left the scene with the gum, and officers found only one spent shell casing. The man was taken to Regional One hospital in non-critical conditions.

Is this a real story? What's a real story? Big story this morning. There is no way. This coming from Fox 13.

Well, not your usual suspect here in Memphis.

So, yeah, dog shoots man.

So, there you go. All right, moving on. A Florida woman has been charged with domestic battery assault by Watermelon. She was accused of throwing a watermelon at her boyfriend. He luckily dodged the airborne fruit.

This coming from the smoking gun, it all happened during a verbal confrontation Sunday evening. Shelly Hardwick allegedly picked up an entire watermelon and threw it in the man's direction. The weight, unknown, unclear, but I have to imagine that's a big-sized watermelon. It's like a cannonball. Hardwick told police she threw the watermelon out of frustration.

but denied tossing it in her boyfriend's direction. You know, she kinda looks like a Florida woman. No offense, but they don't practice. She's not practicing good dental hygiene. I'll just leave it there.

Uh by the way, this all happened at a motel. Which is where they were residing. Motel 6. Police noticed there were watermelon seeds on the victim's face and clothing. I guess it splattered.

Oh, that's not good. Good shot. Do they do that like with, you know, whenever there's like a mass shooting, they put out the little markers for all the bullet cases? Do they do that for the watermelon seeds? It must have been a bad fight to get the watermelon thrown at you.

Interesting. All right, moving on. A 10-year-old Michigan boy died after his obese foster mom sat on him for. Wait, what? This cannot be real.

It's true. She sat on him. She sat on him. She's a big outward. 340 pounds, Jennifer Wilson told police that young Dakota Stevens had fled from her home that morning and he was misbehaving.

So she threw on him. She sat on the child to make sure he could not move. And he apparently. Died. She said that she thought the boy was faking, being hurt, and till she noticed his eyelids had gone pale when she rolled him over.

Unbelievable. The woman says that police say that she was distraught when they arrived at the scene. The little boy airlifted to a hospital. There was nothing that the doctors could do. The child was crushed to death.

Unbelievable. The foster mom, Jennifer Wilson, weighs 340 pounds, the child 91 pounds. They found disturbing ring camera footage that shows a twenty second clip of of Wilson sitting on his head and neck. as she literally squeezed the life out of his tiny frame. Disgusting.

You know, she deserves the death penalty here. She's only going to be facing six years, though, for whatever charges. But. She deserves the death penalty. I would recommend, you know, when you take a car to the junkyard, and that's what I would recommend they do.

Yeah. Yeah, I mean, eye for an eye, right? If you sit on someone and you take their life because you're overweight, I guess we what, get an elephant from the Memphis Zoo, plop it on top of her. Eye for an eye, is the way I see it. I mean, that's the way they're doing it.

By the way, South Carolina, they actually had an execution by firing squads.

So they. Came back with the firing squad and offed a really bad, bad monster.

So look, I... If it deters future crimes, I'm all for it. All for it. All right, there you go. That's our police blotter, ladies and gentlemen.

I want to go right away to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line and say hello to our good friend, Jeffrey Lord, great columnist, great political commentator. Jeffrey, hope you're doing good. Hang it in there. There is no snow here now, finally, so that's a good thing.

Well, that's a great thing. Yeah, it's look, it's almost springtime here in the south.

So we're living large. You are always ahead. You know, And a long ago, I worked in Washington, but I still lived here. My business where my parents lived.

So I'd go back and forth often enough, and I noticed when I left Washington and the leaves were out. Or there was when the leaves were out, I'd get to about Fairmont, Maryland, going north And up, not so, just the reverse. And in the reverse going down, if there was snow on the ground in Pennsylvania, It was gone by the time I got to Washington. Wow. Wow.

I have learned the deal here.

So Jeffrey, big day tomorrow. And it looks like I think Mike Johnson's got the numbers. I know Thomas Massey is a no vote. But this continuing resolution to avoid the partial government shutdown deadline, what's the very latest on that?

Well, it sounds to me that President Trump has jumped in here and Wants to put a stop to it. And from the President's point of view, he's got stuff to do. having been around Washington myself, When you do something like a government shutdown, it provides a whole layer of unnecessary craziness for whomever is in the White House. And they don't want it basically, and President Trump certainly doesn't want it. I suspect in the end the votes will be there.

to save the day, but who knows what can happen between now and tomorrow. When you look at the speed of really these first, what, eight weeks or so now of the administration, were you surprised? I mean, you covered politics for a long time. You know, what this reminds me of, and none of us were around for this. is Franklin Roosevelt much discussed first one hundred days.

And the setting for this was he came in At the height of the Depression, elected in a landslide over then Republican President Herbert Hoover. Takes the job, and because of the state of the economy and the country and you know, this sort of disaster that was there. he made much of what he called his first one hundred days in which there was a whirlwind of activity. To put a halt to all the bad things that were happening in the economy and get the country back on the right road. I really do see some similarities with uh President Trump doing this.

I mean, he, you know, and I think the thing that is so interesting here. As as you know, his only Predecessor. in being president Losing and then coming back four years later was Grover Cleveland back in the 1880s. Presidents generally, if they lose, they're over and out. That's not the case here.

And I think that what happened particularly because Donald Trump was a private citizen who had never held political office before, had never been a governor or senator, He was new to the whole political deal when he got elected the first time. this time around was four years in between with the Biden era, He gets it. He knows where all the bodies are buried, as it were. And uh I think he is he is great 'cause he He came in this time around. Knowing exactly what the pitfalls were, what he wanted to accomplish and, more importantly, how to accomplish it.

I think that's good stuff. You know, Jeffrey, what I find fascinating about Donald Trump is the years before, I mean, going back 20, 30 years, when he would do all of these shows, you know, whether it's The View or Barbara Walters or The Today Show, whatever, and people were actually encouraging him to run. Many of these on the far left were like, oh, yeah, you should run for the presidency. But all of Trump's ideology, it's the same. You know, what he was saying, you know, back in the 1980s and 90s is the same stuff he's saying today.

And a lot of his predictions, including Syria, which we were just talking about in the last segment, it's all coming true.

So he's got a pretty good grasp of world affairs. Yes, he does. And I I can tell you back in twenty thirteen, A columnist at the American Spectator, who was a column, who was a colleague, was not a fan of then-private citizen Donald Trump. He'd seen him on the Today Show. with Matt Lauer.

On NDC. And Matt Lowell said, Are you thinking of running for president in 2016? And Trump allowed this thing in 2013. Yeah, he was thinking about it.

Well, so this copy is my Was not a fan, and he wrote a column, Can't We Just Ignore Donald Trump? It said, oh, we always does this every four years. It's just to get attention. Da-da-da-da-da. And I heard from somebody that I knew in Trump's office They said, Jeffrey, this is BS.

And I thought, well, you know, I hadn't read the column. I'll read it. I thought, well, I'll answer this. And I wrote a column, never ignore Donald Trump. and went on at length about how he He would be an unusual president.

He had No political experience that was true, but that could be an asset. He'd had a successful career. I'd read his books. I thought he could. Do a great job.

But I keep thinking of My phone is ringing and I hear this voice, Jeffrey, yes? This is Donald Trump. Wow. And we were sort of off and running. We talked for about 15 or 20 minutes, and they said, okay, now you know where to find me.

So ever after, I mean, to this day, I still get notes from him and I've interviewed him in the Oval Office with colleagues from the American Spectator and Uh you know, he re he stays in touch. Uh and He really has got this job down. I think he was made for this job.

So it's a good thing, and I think good things are happening. You know, it's a little too soon to start talking about 2026, but those conversations are already being had about the midterms. Certainly, Bernie Sanders out there, and they're getting these big groups of people. I'm not quite sure what to read into that right now, but it seems to me, based on all the polling data, this is an era of Republican politics. I mean, what, Democrats have a 20% approval rating?

That's insanity. Yeah. Well, the only thing the only thing that is a bit of a red flag for me is knowing my My history is I do president. In their when they're elected, and in his case, the unusual part about having served and then he's asked, but now he's elected again. And presidents when they get elected The first time around, and this is in essence the first time around for them, they're they're Second year in.

their congressional election. They get clobber. I remember vividly that President Reagan elected a Forty four state landslide in nineteen eighty and nineteen eighty two just got whacked. in the congressional election And everybody said, Oh, well, it's over for him. He's done.

And of course, Four years later, his program had really caught on And he carried 49 states in 1984. It was quite the deal.

So I I I just always cautious here because history shows that You know, you get elected and then two years in. Uh you have problems and The the deal is he needs to have his program passed and have it take effect. Uh that's the That's the thing, because it hasn't taken effect. And welcome back to the Tot Starns Radio Show. Let's go right to the phone lines: 901-260-5926, Joe in Ella J, Georgia. Joe, what's going on, my friends?

Well, Todd, I'll tell you what, I've never been so fired up since Trump made that speech. About a week ago, I have never seen in my life our people so fired up. Musk got them fired up, Trump got them up, great radio shows like you get us fired up, but I've never seen our core group so fired up. And I want to predict on your wonderful radio show that in the midterms, Republicans will pick up both seat. In the House and Senate, and I and I think J.D.

Vance will be elected president. I think we've got a huge Republican landslides coming up in the future, and your show has certainly contributed to that.

Now, Joe, let me ask you a question. You mentioned J.D. Vance. Do you think that he is going to be the standard-bearer after Trump if Trump doesn't run for a fourth term? You think this could be it?

If he doesn't run for a third term, I like to see him run for a third term. No, I really like J.D. Vance, but I like Yunk in Virginia. Todd, the Zanus of Florida, we've got, I wrote down last night, we've got about 20 candidates that I could support for president. We're just loaded with talent, and more and more people are joining the Republican Party.

And there again, I want to congratulate your radio show. I was talking to somebody the other day, a couple of people, and they said how much they loved your show. And I think you're bringing a lot of new recruits. I know you are bringing a lot of new recruits to the show.

So I'm the most Fired up, I've ever been. I feel great. I think we're going to have landslide Republican wins in the future in both the midterms and the presidential, whoever the president is. Whereas I think Byron Donald's another great candidate, we've got so many great candidates, Yonkin and Virginia, you name them. But I just want to thank you for all you do because you're definitely, and I love to see you on news, Max.

I think a lot of people are really watching a lot of news, Max. And I think you've, there again, you've really helped that network.

So I'm just all positive about the future, and I want to thank you again for all you do, Todd Starn.

Well, I sure do appreciate those kind words, Joe, and thank you for that. And yeah, we are having a lot of fun on Newsmax. It's a fun show. We'll be back at it tonight, 5 o'clock Eastern. But I got to tell you, I love radio because that's where we can have these kinds of conversations.

And you can't do that on TV. But, Joe, thank you for that call. There is a crazy story out of California of Los Angeles. And I just want to say something here. Karen Bass, the mayor, completely corrupt.

Now she's been deleting all these text messages surrounding the fires. I smell a rat there. But just to illustrate how crazy things are there, there's a guy by the name of Rick Polizzi, and he was one of The Simpsons producers of the cartoon show The Simpsons. And he built up a tree house at his home in Sherman Oaks, California, and that treehouse was for his two daughters. The treehouse has been up for more than 20 years, and now it's having to come down because the county says you can't have a treehouse.

This is the kind of left-wing lunacy that I just don't get. I'm telling you, if this would have happened in the South, there would be no Democrats. And that's one of the reasons why there are no Democrats in the South. Anyway, I want you to listen to cut number 12, please. I'm Rick Palizzi.

We are out here today because the treehouse that I built with a carpenter friend 24 years ago is coming down. The city has started a criminal trial on it, and that trial is on Wednesday. And the city is going to make me pay for court costs, and it's just kind of being a bully. And so I'm taking it down. We're paying for it to get taken down, so they dismiss the charges.

I do not want to go to court on Wednesday, so that's why this is all coming down. And it did. They were going to throw the guy in jail. Because he had a treehouse up for more than twenty years. This is insane.

He said the kids in the neighborhood love that blasted treehouse.

So he said they've already spent over $50,000 trying to defend. The treehouse, but the city says that they're going to go after him for court cost, and that could be upwards of $30,000. And the guy said, Yeah, I'm just taking it down. That ought to be a that ought to be somebody's campaign posters and commercials right there. The fact that these woke overlords in Los Angeles County are ordering a man to take down his Simpsons themed treehouse.

I just don't get it. And you know what's going to happen, though? Election time's going to come around, and they're going to elect the same people that make these stupid decisions. I mean, I don't blame the guy for. I mean, I don't have $100,000 to spend on a treehouse.

Why would I go to court over something like that? But the broader issue is. It's the tree is on his property.

So what right does the county or the city have to tell this guy what they can or cannot do in this guy's home? Oh, by the way, there is a story out of Germantown, my well neighborhood, And Ben Dieter, the You might remember this. I know you were talking about this, where a woman has her holiday decorations up year-round, and they're pretty disgusting. I think at Santa Claus, you know, they've got like the skeletons at Santa Claus, and it's almost very demonic-ish. I get the demonic vibe when I see the front yard display.

She has the skeleton fetish.

Well, now, well, she was told she had to remove all of that because there's like a 30-day, what, a 30-day or 60-days. You can only have the holiday-specific decorations up for a certain amount of time. And so now these free speech folks are coming along and saying, hey, look, you know, this is this woman's property. She gets to decide what they can and can't do.

So now the city is going back and they're going to get rid of that policy, it looks like. And again, I will defend this woman's right. It's her front yard. If she wants to be an inconsiderate jerk. If she wants to be a rude woman, if she wants to terrify the neighborhood children with her demon decorations, you know, that's her right, it's her property.

If she in fact owns it, which Now may be questionable if she may be renting, but regardless, if you own the property, you know, that's yours.

Well, I mean, the First Amendment is pretty broad and it's sweeping and big for a reason because it is kind of the most important one. Yeah, it's weird. If you want to be weird, if you oftentimes with speech, if you want to be divisive, you can be divisive. When it crosses into violent rhetoric, that's another story. But yeah, I mean,.

Are these skeletons hurting anybody? Maybe the HOAs in the neighborhood, but other than that, you're not breaking any laws. No, and it would hurt property values, though. But you know what? Again, that's an issue.

Yeah. But you know what? And the woman better be careful because the neighbors, they've got rights to be jerks, too. and that might come back and bite her and the beehinds. Skeletor.

All right.

I want to play some audio here. There's a lot of anger out. Out there in the alphabet activist community, and a lot of these drag queens are realizing that these public school libraries are shutting down drag queen story times because those are in violation of President Trump's executive order.

So, anyway, here's one of those drag queens, very upset. Cut number three. Hello, my name is Bridget Bandit, and I'm speaking in opposition to SB 18. I'm a born and raised Texan and full-time drag queen. Previously, I have worked with children throughout my life as a swim instructor, teaching summer art camps, hosting children's birthday parties, and volunteering in my church as a youth group leader.

Today, I occasionally host drag queen story times. These kinds of events don't differ much from the kind of work I did before, yet this bill would impact my ability to work with children simply based on a subjective and ill-defined expectation of how I should look. Yeah, okay, a couple of thoughts here. First of all, what sort of a church has a drag queen as a youth group leader? Number two, This drag queen says that the legislation that's being debated and this is happening in Texas, by the way, the bill would impact his ability to be with kids.

Yes, that is exactly the point. Exactly the point. And good for the state of Texas to do whatever they can do to protect these children from these predators. And that's what this is. This is all about grooming, and it's all about allowing these.

Why would a grown man want to covert with little children? I don't understand that unless there's something very nefarious going on. And something very nefarious is going on, ladies and gentlemen. All right.

Also, I want to play some audio from Jasmine Crockett. I'm catching a lot of flack because I called out the fact that this woman is Faux Ghetto, F-A-U-X-G-H-E-T-T-O. She's faking it, ladies and gentlemen. She wants you to think she's coming from the streets, from the hood, when in fact she grew up in a very, very well-off family, went to exclusive day schools as a child, and was educated at Rhodes College, where the tuition is upwards of what, $50,000, $55,000 a year.

So, anyway, Jasmine Crockett, she's not exactly. Exactly, the brightest bulb on Capitol Hill. She was talking about illegal immigration. Take a listen. As they are so outraged by these immigrants and the crime that they're bringing, and not to mention city law enforcement, local law enforcement, they are always going after crime.

And they don't say, oh, you committed a murder. Oh, but you're an immigrant.

Well, let me let you go, right?

So they are always focused on crime. They continue to say things like the illegals and that they broke the law coming in. But what they're not telling the American people is that it is a civil violation. It is not a criminal violation to enter the country illegally. It's not a criminal.

It's a crime. It's not a crime, which is why they're so frustrated because they really want our local law enforcement to go out and round up people when they could be looking out for the murderers and the sexual abusers as well as the robbers. They want them to go and round people up on civil accusations. All right.

You gotta love it. It's yes. Illegal immigration is not illegal. That's what she's telling us, ladies and gentlemen. Illegal immigration is not illegal.

Tom Holman, our border czar, had this to say in response. It's a crime to enter the country legally on Title VIII, United States Code 1325. And it's really pathetic that any member of Congress don't understand what the law says. They wrote the law. They enacted the law.

It was signed by the president. It's a criminal violation to enter the country legally. If you've entered it prior, it's a felony.

So, you know, I've been saying this for, I don't know how long on your show. And I had to educate AOC years ago during a hearing that it's a crime to enter this country legally, and we're going to enforce those laws.

Well, good for you, sir. And by the way, it is working. Even CBS News had to acknowledge that border crossings are at a get this are you ready for this? A twenty five year low, cut five. I want to ask you, border crossings.

They're at a 25-year low. They are. It's fantastic. There are 6,000 U.S. military personnel working at the border now.

That number could go up to 9,000 by the end of the month. How long do you have to keep them there if the numbers are already dropping like this? You know, we'll continue the partnership with the Department of Defense, but also we've got partnerships with commerce, with the Attorney General's office. You know, we're working every day with the Secretary of State. We'll keep them there until that border is completely secure and we see all-time record lows of encounters.

Our Border Patrol is doing fantastic work, but we're going to keep them there until the whole world gets the message that this isn't Joe Biden's world anymore. This is President Donald Trump's country where we have a border, where we have laws, and it applies equally to everybody. I think that is what is so refreshing: we're not picking and choosing winners and losers anymore. Americans have to live by the law.

So do those who come to this country. You have to come here legally or there will will be consequences. Yeah. I mean, it makes perfect sense.

So CBS apparently did not. believe her, that was a secretary Homeland Security Secretary Christine Ohm.

So they sent a border reporter down to the border. And here's what the border reporter from CBS News discovered.

So you spent how long going along the border? Four hours. And how different was this trip versus past trips? We didn't see a single migrant or asylum seeker. And typically, when we go to the U.S.-Mexico border, we at least see one group of people who are trying to cross into the U.S.

illegally. We did not see a single migrant. We saw soldiers, Border Patrol agents, and National Guard troops and vehicles and barriers, but no migrants. You know why? Because the previous administration said we got to have policy.

We got to have new policies. Trump said no, you don't. He said all you needed was a new president. There you go. Promises delivered, promises kept.

Oh, I've got to tell you about something that happened Friday.

So during the show on Friday, My my phone was blowing up or s text messages. And I didn't recognize the number right away, but I saw it was coming from Washington.

So during one of the breaks, I called, and it turned out to be the executive director of the Tennessee Association of Broadcasters.

Now, this is a statewide organization. Every state in America has one, and they represent the interest of radio stations and TV stations, anyone in the broadcast industry. I happen to also serve on the board of directors. It's a great honor. And this will be wrapping up, it'll be a four year term.

And I've been honored to serve on the board of directors of the TAB.

So anyway, every year, they make a trip To Washington, D.C. And they prepared these beautiful, full-colored documents explaining: okay, this is why radio is important, this is why TV is important, and this is what we've been up to. Here is some legislation that we're concerned about. And they're basically lobbying. And so they visited every member of the Tennessee congressional delegation.

So, anyway, I get this urgent call from the executive director. And he said, Todd, you've got to call me back.

Something crazy just happened. And so I called back and I'm like, I can't imagine what in the world would happen. These are just very leisurely, hospitable visits to members of Congress.

Well, in Tennessee, We've only gotten deeder, I didn't realize it's striking because we deal a lot with stories out of California and New York and Georgia. We've only got one. Democrat in the entire congressional delegation. And he's terrible. Oh, he's horrible.

It's one thing to be a Democrat. It's another thing to be an idiotic Democrat, and he supersedes that.

So, this guy, his name is Steve Cohen, and you might remember him for a couple of reasons. First of all, he was years ago, he attended a committee hearing eating, literally eating from a bucket of Kentucky fried chicken. Greasy fingers, just nasty. He's kind of like a cross between the crypt keeper and Benjamin Franklin, right?

So you merge them together. You got the long, long hair that needs to be cut. And I don't know about hygiene, but. He doesn't take care of himself. Yeah, doesn't look like head and shoulders, maybe old spices.

Readily available. And then the other day, so was it Breitbart?

Somebody was trying to track him down, and he was in one of these motorized scooters, and he was in the hallways of Congress trying to get away from this reporter. I think it was a Breitbart reporter who wanted to ask him about girls' and women's sports. He threw it in reverse so quick. I guess he was on a little. Wheelchair moped, but he can walk.

And it was just like, by the way, this is my district. He is my representative. He's your congressman. Unfortunately, you get Congressman David Kustoff, who your listeners are familiar with at this point. He hates our guts.

And will never make an appearance in Memphis in this area.

So, anyway. Um I want to get back to what happened in the congressional office is insanity.

So they present the The beautiful document saying, here's what we've been up to. And everybody is very gracious. Except for Steve Cohen. And so he's, I guess he's flipping through it. And we were somehow prominently displayed in this document, the radio station I own, KWAM, our flagship radio station.

And one of the reasons why is because we do a lot in the way of community service. And that's what they were trying to point out. And, you know, they love to attack my radio station as being, you know, I don't know, racist, KKK radio, when in fact, We actually have just as many Democrats that come onto the radio station shows. We are very involved in the entire community, and that includes the black community here in Memphis. And for example, we have purchased, we recently purchased tickets so that inner city kids could go to their first Broadway musical at the Orpheum.

We're very involved in making sure that kids learn how to read. Every year at Christmas, we provide low-income families the experience and the joy of purchasing brand new Christmas toys. Toys at heavily discounted prices. Yeah. So we do all of this, and we're honored to.

We also provide free airtime for the Memphis Police Association and the Memphis Firefighters Association. They do a one-hour program every Saturday. And so we love our community and we want to do whatever we can. And that's not to be braggadocious. I just want to set this up for what happened.

So the congressman sees KWAM and becomes enraged. And starts ripping apart. The guy just goes into like some sort of a freak. He starts ripping apart the document and throwing it on the ground. And my understanding is that he then ordered the poor representatives from the Tennessee Association of Broadcasters to get out of his office.

And the poor executive director is like, this has never happened to us before. What's going on? Wow. So, what? He loves NPR and hates K-Wham?

He's a sh this is a disgrace. I mean, first of all, even if you don't like conservative radio and this guy will never. Don't act like an idiot and don't act like a three-year-old in aisle 14 of the local Target that you didn't get your toy. Act like a full-grown man because last time I checked, he is. You know, this guy's nothing more than a greasy-fingered weasel.

And it's really sad because here he is, and they're attacking a bunch of young people who are just up there to try to promote broadcasting and what the broadcasting community is up to. And that's pretty despicable. He's a bully, and he's a smelly, weasly, greasy bully. And I don't like that. I just wish he would share some of that rage and frustration for his congressional district, in which it is the most dangerous one in America.

If you want to get mad about something, get mad about all of the black kids that get killed in your district every single week. This guy doesn't do anything with his district. That's the problem. That's what gets me is the hypocrisy. This congressman, hey, we're out there in your congressional district trying to make it a better place.

Where are you, sir? Where are you? 17 years in Congress. Wow. Again, we've got to have term limits.

He's going to kick the kid. Yeah, yeah, the term limits. I wanted to call this guy an ignorant ass, but that would be an insult to ignorant asses. And I mean that in the biblical sense of the term. Oh, by the way, can I just slam it?

And my grandma listens to the show, so watch your language.

Sorry, Grandma Dieter. Can I just slam on the brakes for a moment? I watched a brand new series over the weekend, and I am excited about this. It's called House of David. Have you heard about this?

No. It tells the story of King David, and it's just so well done. Amazon Prime. Wow. I'm shocked.

It wasn't woke? No, I thought King David was going to be gay or something, but no, it's like straight. Wow. Okay.

It seems to me, and I've sort of been following along. I went back and go back through. I'm following, I'm reading the book of Samuel, and I'm going along, and it seems to be pretty accurate.

So if you've seen the series, give me a call. It's gotten up to whatever, five episodes in, and I just, it was pretty amazing.

So anyway, all right, got to take a break here, folks. 901. 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926.

This is the Tom Stern Show. All right, coming up, Eric Burleson, the Congressman from Missouri, riding an op-ed with members of the House Freedom Caucus. And he says the U.S. is going to have to choose either $20 trillion in debt or Medicaid reform.

So we're going to. We're going to be following that story again. Lawmakers have until Friday to pass a continuing resolution, or the government shuts down at midnight. on Friday. nine oh one two six zero five nine two six is our telephone number.

You know, I am curious about those term limitations. And should we begin the process of placing limits on how long somebody can actually serve On Capitol Hill. And I think that would cut down a lot of this grift, a lot of this waste. And honestly, we ought to be cutting out most, if not all, of the NGOs. And by the way, some states are now beginning to do their own version of Doge.

And I know Mississippi, for example, they've been very big proponents of that. And folks, it's not just states. I'm telling you, everywhere you look, there is grift. In your city, you ought to check and see. In Memphis, Tennessee, lawmakers are actually allowed to have a slush fund where they're able to give this money to nonprofit organizations.

I'm not buying any of it. Look, here's the deal: that's not their money, it's my money. And if you're a taxpayer in Memphis, Tennessee, that's your money. If I want to support a charity, if I want to support a church or a nonprofit, I'm going to do that on my own. I don't need the government taking my money and donating it to these nonprofit organizations.

By the way, some of them may not even align with the values I have. I mean, good golly. Unbelievable. But I'm tell you right now in Memphis, you've got even the Republicans that are trying to convince everybody that we've got to raise taxes. Either through another property tax or another sales tax, because we have to build a $2 billion jail.

Here's a thought. Go down to Costco and buy a bunch of pup tents, get some fencing. And you can build a nice big secure fence and make the criminals live in the pup tents. Why do we need a two billion dollar fancy jail facility? Quite frankly, the conditions in the jails should be so bad that you don't want to go back.

But that's just me. And you know, they tell me I'm a very inconsiderate person. No, I just don't like criminals. And if you do th if you do something wrong, you got to do the time. We're not sending you to Club Med.

I mean, come on for crying out loud. Anyway, we'll get into more of that with Congressman Burleson coming up after the break. 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926.

And just think about this for a moment here, folks. It could very well be we don't have to raise any taxes at all because of all of the grift. If we can get that taken care of, Who knows? Things could look mighty better around this joint. Gotta take a break.

We'll be right back. All right, welcome back, everybody. Good to have you with us. Let's go right away to our Patriot Mobile newsmaker line. Say hello to Congressman Eric Burleson.

Republican from Missouri, Congressman, hope you're doing well today. Good morning, Todd. Or good afternoon, Todd.

So I was reading this op-ed that was published by Fox News Congressman you, Chiproy, and Andy Harris writing this. The headline: We're members of the House Freedom Caucus, the U.S. must choose either $20 trillion in debt or Medicaid reform. We're looking at a looming deadline. Of a government shutdown.

On Friday.

So, first, let's talk about the CR. Where do you stand? Where does the House Freedom Congress stand on the CR? You know, I'm not a fan of CRs. I've not voted for one before.

I had a meeting with the president. Please rest those. And I And and I and you know, because the people You know, overwhelmingly gave them a mandate, and I trust him. He's not, you know. You've not done me wrong.

And he is asking me to give him the room and vote for the CR. that they can continue to doge and make the cuts.

So Well it's not a perfect situation. I think that we just have to get past this moment in order to get to the to um to actually saving the country.

So Congressman supporting it.

So Congressman, I kind of figured you were. And it's because the President is ordering you guys to. I mean, this is it really does go against I mean, just to be honest though, it goes against everything the House Freedom Caucus stands for. Yeah, if we were under a different president. Right.

But having a conversation, knowing that that this unlocks Impoundment. it unlocks re the ability to do rescues. and that this administration is committed to doing those at an aggressive level Changes the conversation. And so that's. why why you're seeing I believe you'll see a unanimous support from the Freedom Caucus.

Yeah. So it's I guess the hope is, and I'm with you, I mean, the President, he got a mandate, but the reality is it concerns me because the Republicans, at least as long as I've been alive, haven't been able to be fiscal conservatives. And I don't see us. Even with the Doge stuff, I mean, I get it, it's great theatrics and we talk about it all the time on the radio, but until Congress takes action, really nothing is going to be codified in any of this. That's right, Todd.

And but the dynamic is What we're willing to do is take on the fight and try to force the moderates who don't want to cut spending, force them into a bad situation. But the reality is we'll lose. And so this is, I think. What Trump's team is saying is that don't worry, you just pass a clean CR, it puts us in a place where we will be the ones that make the cuts. I mean the executive branch.

using impoundment, using rescissions, other things. And I think that they mean it when they say that, that that's what they're going to do.

So you've got the essay, the column up, and you point out, and this is pretty shocking, I didn't realize the numbers were that high, but in ten years we're on course to add $20 trillion to the national debt. How do we stop that from happening? Yeah, we've got to control spending. If we can really reduce our spending, we will solve a lot of problems. We will see inflation go down, we will see the interest rates go down.

And we will obviously correct our national debt problem and our deficit problem.

So Congress or and the President needs to reduce spending. And the only, you know, since being up here, Todd, I've been in conference meetings, I don't know how many times. And somebody will go to the microphone and say, well, we could cut all the discretionary spending in the world. cut every dime of it, and we still won't balance the budget. And they're right.

So you have to address mandatory spending. Since we can't because Trump campaigned on not touching Social Security or Medicare, That basically leaves Medicaid. And I think that there are a number of things as we put in this article that we could do to Medicaid That wouldn't harm a single individual that it was intended to be used for. Unfortunately, after COVID or during COVID, The Biden administration it had something like thirteen executive orders that totally blew up. Medicaid.

And the enrollment numbers now Um uh you know it's like fifty percent more how much we're spending in Medicaid than than we did before COVID. And so we've got a real problem here with the growth. And the growth in Medicaid is not in the people that need it. It's not for people that are disabled or Or blind, or you know, young, young people. It's for the people that are young adults.

Who should be working, and that's the fastest growing population in Medicaid. The ones that really should be out there producing and helping to support their neighbor in need. Not taking.

Well, and that was my question because that's normally I would think, well, okay, yeah, those numbers are going up and even into Social Security because baby boomers was our largest generation. Then Gen X were not, our parents weren't having as many kids, and then it seems to be declining. But my understanding now is millennials have actually overtaken baby boomers as America's largest generation. Yes, well the largest generation that's on that's receiving benefits from Medicaid. For sure.

And that's not really an unhealthy situation. We have our young people. um that that really d are not demonstrating the work ethic of my generation, your generation or the or the great generation? the they're demonstrating that they that they want to I mean, that they don't want to go out and get a full-time job, that they're not. even if they are, the the provisions that we're looking at doing would benefit somebody who is maybe working a full-time job and they still are not making enough money.

We understand that there's people in that situation. But what we don't want to see is this become a cycle of dependency And people end up in a cycle of poverty. Yeah, and so we want to we want to help End the cycle of dependency and get people into into productive lives. Congressman, are there any numbers out there to illustrate the point you guys are making about the number of able bodied adults that are on Medicaid right now that should not be? What percentage do they make up of everybody that's on Medicaid?

So there are twenty four point six million able bodied working capable working adults, people that could be working. Right, this is between the ages of So, I think it's a very good idea. And these individuals, so they they don't qualify for Medicare. or retirement they they're just and there's no reason why they shouldn't be working, they just aren't. that 24.6 million, they represent 60% of the people that are on the program.

So it's the greatest it's the largest population And it's going to cost us quite a bit of money if we don't address it. And really, the Simple approaches to return to what Bill Clinton had put into law back in the nineties, which is work requirements for this population of people. We're not cutting off people that are disabled or children in need or elderly individuals in nursing homes. In fact, we need to if we're going to preserve A program that's intended for those very vulnerable populations, we have to address. The working age population within Medicaid and make sure that they're not strength taking from a system that's meant for others.

This is insanity. So it just seems to me that if we were to take all these people off who don't belong on Medicaid, would Medicaid actually be in a good spot? Yeah, I mean, it would be in much better spot than it was. prior to COVID and prior to the Biden administration, we've Obama even expanded Medicaid, but we're not even talking about that. I mean, that would that's a completely different conversation.

But The just reinstituting the Clinton era work requirements would go a long ways. All right.

Well, Congressman, we're going to leave it there. Appreciate the information there. And folks, got to go read this op-ed written by our friends at the House Reading Caucus, Eric Burleson, Chiproy and Andy Harris, over at Fox News. Congressman, thank you. Thank you, Todd.

Oh, sweet mercy.

Now, again, folks, it goes back to this laziness that has infested our society when you've got so many abled-bodied people, 60%. You heard the congressman say that, 60%. I do want to go back, though, and this may be deeter. This is probably why we're not getting return phone calls from Republican members of Congress because I want them all on the record here. If this had been any other president, they would be fighting this tooth and nail.

But because it's a Republican president, They're going to go forward and they're not going to stand in the way of this continuing resolution. And mark my words here, folks. And again, I am all for all of the things that are happening, but a lot of this is just for show right now because Congress ultimately has to get involved and they've got to codify all of these cuts. And if they do not, then we're never going to p fix the problem. As you've said, though, on the show many times, whatever the president wants, the president gets.

So With that line of thinking. These lawmakers have adopted that. And we know that in the President's prior administration and his first term in office. We know that the debt ceiling rose, and we elected him because what the president wants, the president gets. I mean, it's almost a mute point.

But it shouldn't be. It should not be. And I do have a problem with that because at the end of the day, I don't want us to be in a situation we were in in the first term because if that happens, if we're continuing to raise this debt ceiling, then we're going to have big problems in the midterms. Big problems. All right.

You know, when you throw in what's been happening with these massive coordinated Doge protests that are being funded, by the way, through your tax dollars, then all of the Tesla dealerships, Tesla owners, they're coming under attack.

There is a very well-coordinated effort to take out Elon Musk here, and it is not good. Let's go to the phone lines here: 901-260-5926. Steve in Georgia, listening to us on WDUN. Hi, Steve. What's going on?

Hey, Todd, how are you doing? I'm good. Thank you for asking. Good. Hey, um, you asked about the uh The Kingdom of David movie?

Yes. Every episode of that, we really like it a lot. Is that right? So, you know, a lot of times with those um Bible movies, it's um it's you never know what you're gonna get. You know, sometimes it just might be a couple of guys in a bathrobe out in the desert somewhere.

No, it's pretty good and May I take a few liberties, but Nothing is terribly unscriptural. That's true. I mean, I thought that the scene where David was texting King Saul was a little, you know, but no, I'm just kidding. There was no texting. I didn't see that point.

No, no, no. I'm just yanking your chain there, Steve. Yeah, no, it's a good, it really is a great series. And I think one of the things that Hollywood has finally realized is that there is money to be made if you are producing films and things of that nature that are true to the scripture and that are going to be inspiring. And by the way, something that the entire family can sit down and watch.

And I'll tell you this, Steve, when I went back and I read back through the Bible passages, the film sort of brought that to life in a way. And I thought, to your point, I thought it was pretty straight on accurate. Yeah, I like um Jonathan and David. even though they really haven't met yet, but I can see that friendship there. Yeah, it's really fun.

I binge-watched, and it was, I just really found it to be quite entertaining. Steve, thank you for that call. Thank you for listening. You know, Dieter, I was reading somewhere that Disney is actually introducing a Christian character.

So that I mean I think even Disney has realized, you know what? Maybe, just maybe we have gone too far. Yeah. Yeah, I saw this. It's an EA story.

So. It's a new animated Disney series called Win or Lose. And the reason it's making headlines, Todd, to your point, is it's the only time in the company's history. What was Cinderella not a born-again Christian? My gosh.

Put her through the pumpkin feature or whatever.

So, anyways, it's an open Christian character, and I guess that's as big as like this is like shock and awe that this person, this Disney character, has come out of the it's come out as a Christian. It's like breaking news. Like, how could this happen? Here, this whole time, Todd, I thought like the dwarves were the disciples. Like, I truly thought that this was not such a shocking headline.

Turns out. These Disney characters from Sleeping Beauty to The Mermaid have been pagans. Wow. Well, who d no, I just think that there was a sense of morality that was rooted in Christianity, right? It was those Midwestern values that Walt Disney was raised on.

Well, I think maybe it was based in that, but they pretty much kept their movies and their films A religious, or some would say, without a certain bent towards different religion. But I don't know. I mean, Have we all not watched some Sleeping Beauty? There was some sorcery, some creepy stuff happening there. Evil.

Yeah. So where there is evil, you need good. And so I guess in this new series that's coming out, one of the little girls, Laurie is her name, she says, quote, Dear Heavenly Father, please give me strength. I don't know what that is. Maybe to fight off the evil.

Wow. Evil. That's how they say it in the movies. As they're battling evil. I'm just anyway.

Isn't the lion and the witch in the wardrobe a Christian? That's not Disney. I'm going back, sorry. That's not Disney. That's not just me.

I'm sorry, I don't know my movie franchises. Interesting story. We may have, I think we can get all of this in. There was a track and field event. Over the weekend in Virginia at Liberty University, by the way.

There's a high school track and field event. And if you've seen this video where one of the athletes, they're running the relay, you know, with the baton, those metal batons. And so one of the track and field competitors actually. Started beating her opponent on the head with the baton as a running. And so suffered a.

A skull, like a concussion and a skull fracture. And so now the culprit in all of this, she's claiming to be the true victim. And she literally said, and the audio is not all that great, but she said, I know the other person suffered a skull fracture, but what about my mental health? What about me?

Now she says it was all an accident. She did not mean to beat the living daylights out of her. It was just accidental. I don't know about that.

Well, they provide therapists in jail, so she'll get a nice therapist when she's behind bars. Yeah, I just don't understand why this person should be arrested and charged with a crime.

Well, she's clearly one of these kids that they got a trophy all their life, and the chick ran a little bit faster with her. And in the real world, as an adult, that's called losing, and you lose amicably. You don't beat someone up with a poll. All right, folks, got to leave it there. Tonight, 5 o'clock Eastern, a lot going on.
