Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's common sense conservative commentary from Todd Starr. Shatter! That's right. I love this American rhythm. Good afternoon.

This is Congressman Tim Burchett, and this will probably be the only person that's ever been on this radio show. does not have an accent. It's a pleasure being with y'all. I am Tim Burchett, Congressman from Tennessee's 2nd Congressional District, East Tennessee. And my buddy Todd Starn says calmly uh allowed me to host this show for y'all.

And as they say in radio, breaking Hunter Biden is going to plead. Guilty in the tax case. I think he's going to plead guilty not paying taxes on a little over a million dollars. But our good friends at the IRS apparently what they're not telling you. is that He Uh they let the statute run on some of that stuff.

And there's a lot more in that. And let me tell y'all, if Tim Burchett can can look through these files and find I think it was twenty million dollars that was paid to the Bryden crime family, I I said During mob school they must have been asleep. um during money laundering class because they did such a poor job. I'm looking back uh they're showing some of this the video now of of him in and out of Hearings and things, and I was there when it happened. I was watching this stuff.

I sat across the table from him during one at the A very good uh the Treasury, I believe, where we were looking through some files and Asked not to comment on it, and then we walk outside. And of course, what everybody do, they commented on it, and I didn't say hardly anything. Anyway, I'm sure that'll be all over the news today. Uh as we see What will happen to him? I suspect.

though the big guy, Joe Biden, will probably pardon him. That's my thoughts on it. I don't know. Um Feel free to. Cast your own opinion, but I think that's what'll probably happen.

And I think that's why they pleaded. They couldn't they didn't want this thing to run out 'cause this thing could have run out for a long, long time. And then it wouldn't have been after. possibly when Joe wasn't in office or he wasn't capable of of um Signing the pardon. He's in.

declining health in my opinion. I've stated that many times, but Let me tell y'all who I am. I am Married to a beautiful woman, I have a wonderful daughter. In East Tennessee, my daughter's a barrel racer. They run around these crazy barrels with these horses and try not to knock them down.

And I am the youngest of three. My parents were pretty exceptional people. I think it's important to know where people come from. My Mamo actually flew an airplane during the Second World War. She's from Cheatham County.

That's in Middle Tennessee. Her daddy was a rule letter carrier. She's the youngest of seven. and didn't have electricity till she's a senior in high school. Grew up during the the Depression.

I don't call it the Great Depression. There wasn't anything great about it. People were out of work and it was tough. And our country was uh tatering, I guess, on the edge. And my father was in the United States Marine Corps, During the Second World War, when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, he wanted to get at them.

He'd ran about. what they did at Nanking. Um There's a great book you all oughta. Look at it, it's called The Rape of Manking. and it describes some real tragedies.

um uh just horrific way that they treated The Chinese civilians, the Japanese did. And daddy was uh unlike myself, my father had a very high IQ. and he was told by the Marine Corps to go to Georgia Tech. He was going to become an officer. And he, um hated the enemy and loved his country so much that he just failed himself out.

And went to basic training, a total of eight weeks, if you can believe that. was issued a Thompson submachine gun. and one is sent to a little first Battle was um The Military Intelligence Which I've often state, military intelligence is sort of like congressional ethics. It really just doesn't exist. Too much.

And he was sent to um Went to Georgia Tech to bec oh, I'm sorry, he went to I already went through that. He went to a little island called Peleloo, and it was a supposed to be just a little mop-up. Dale. And over 20 days later, they were still in combat. The Japanese had been there for like 15 years, and it was.

And as it turned out, that island was Not Even it wasn't very strategic, and they should have just gone around it and left it, but they didn't. And it was, you can read about it. You never read about it in history books. Uh especially now. But it was it was horrific.

And then he was on the island of Okinawa, Invasion there, and then he was there when they dropped the bomb on Japan, dropped both bombs on Japan, actually, Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The 1st Marine, he was in what was called the 1st Marine Division, and they were actually preparing. They thought they were going to go to Japan for the invasion, and then they dropped the bomb, and then they. everybody they thought you were going to get to go home. And then daddy went to had to go to China for a short while.

And uh Helping Sheng Kai-shek and trying to actually prevent the Chinese from killing the Japanese, because when the emperor said lay their guns down, they actually did that. And um I came home after the war and was a dean at the University of Tennessee and my mama taught school and And um And Three children. I'm the The last of the three. My brother and sister and I are all close together in age, um and mama had us all three very late in life, I guess you'd say. And And I became a United States Congressman.

I was a Um I was an unusual child. I had an idea of uh Taking um yard waste and making it into compost, and I turned that into a business, long story short. Excused to taking toxic waste. all my political friends And people I people I grew up with. played football with their kids and stuff.

They all ran for cover. And uh Um Uh decided to um fight the system and I think there was 13 front-page articles on me, above the fold, as they used to say. That's when it was in the newspaper box. It was above the fold. It stayed up there and you'd see it as you walked by.

Yeah. And um we fought it. I lost everything I had. and then the day after I lost the business the EPA came in, swooped in, as I like to say, and cleared my good name. of any wrongdoings.

Um They uh I was accused of taking toxic waste and And there was a a lot of misinformation out, of course, as the media likes to do. They don't. like a good story. And I remember the head of UT's microbiology department ate some of my mulch. On the n six o'clock nose, she had Show everybody it was safe, but that wasn't enough.

Anyway, I lost everything, and I had to do something with all that. energy, I guess you could say. And I wasn't really bitter about it, but it was just uh it really It really ticked me off the way people just turned on me. And I said, if I ever got inelected office, Dad Gummit, I would. Would would stand up for folks and that's That's sort of been my hallmark in in politics.

I take on Um issues that a lot of people would would be would be afraid to. A lot of folks don't have a lobbyist. they can call on or can afford an attorney. And uh and they call on me to to help them with those issues and that's And I ran for the state house after that. I always tell kids that when I go speak to the classrooms, I say, you know, you got.

You're going to see a lot of things in your life are going to happen. That are not good. You're going to lose your wife, you're going to lose your husband, or your husband, your boyfriend, your girlfriend, your mom, or your dad, or your job And you've got to make a decision in your life. And that gummet, what are you going to do? Are you going to sit on some bar stool and feel sorry for yourself?

Well, you're an American. You're allowed to do that. But I don't drink, so that option wasn't I didn't have that option. and so I ran for the State House. and out of ninety nine house races that year I was the only person to beat an incumbent in Tennessee.

And I was in the State House for four years and then I I ran, I was, our state senator decided not to run again for re-election. I ran to that. I was in the State Senate for twelve years. And actually I really enjoyed it. And sometimes people in politics, they um They don't.

Listen. A lot. I always tell the story about a I heard a preacher say this one time. A guy's falling off a roof and And he yells out, God help me, God help me And then uh his um A nail catches his overalls and he doesn't fall off the roof. He says, Never mind, God, I got it.

Well in my line of thinking God put that nail there, and you just got to listen sometimes, and God speaks to me, just not in an audible voice. But I was at a little place called Wrights Cafeteria. I was a state senator, and And I was enjoying the life of being a state senator. I was single back then and I um And there's a guy going through the line, as you'll find out in government, the people that do most of the work in government are the. Men and women with their name on their shirt, or that lady that answers the phone that you're so rude to.

About an issue that you need solved, or some guy who's out there cleaning up the streets that has a It's work for the city or the county or the state or what have you. And there was an issue going on in the county and And they hollered at this guy and said, Hey, how you gonna? You're going to pay for that with your P card, and P cards were what they call these purchase cards, and that was something that was being abused, and this guy wasn't doing it. Obviously, it was. people higher up the food chain and I thought Man Lord Somebody ought to do something about that.

That's just not right, them abusing him. And then I said, Okay, I hear you. And people come in my office all the time and tell me, well, God told me to run. And I said, well, did God tell you you were going to win? And they said, Well, what do you mean by that?

And they said, Well, Just because you're going to run doesn't mean you're going to win. And it's hard work. It is very hard work. First time I ran for office, I knocked on over six thousand doors. I got Bit by two dogs and um lost oh, I don't know, twenty five or thirty pounds, I guess, just and I didn't have that to lose.

But Uh You know, it's it is hard work. And so I ended up running for county mayor after that. And I was Knox County Mayor for eight years. And We did some pretty cool things. That's not real sexy, but it's what government should be doing.

We paid cash for schools, we got out. I said if if well I was mayor of Knox County, if it was in the yellow pages, then Knox County didn't need to be in that business. And that's unfortunately in government. We try to get into everything and to solve everything. And all we're doing when we get into business is competing against the private sector with your tax dollars, and we don't have to pay taxes.

And if we screw up, we just Well, in the Federal Government we just print more dad come money. At the local level we just tax you more. And um And that's progress. And so as long as the The big boys are getting their cut. You usually are considered successful, but I wasn't.

That wasn't my bag. I paid down debt. And we built a couple of schools. Like I said, we paid cash for. For one of those, and we gave pay raises, and we were able to do all those things without raising taxes.

So I thought we had a pretty successful run there. And then I was. afforded the opportunity to um to run for Congress and I took that opportunity and I've been in Congress for six years and I guess I've been fairly controversial. I haven't. My thoughts haven't changed much about government.

I don't trust it. Um I think both parties are as I like to say, crooked is a dog's leg. I just think The other party is a little more crooked than we are. And I've focused on a lot of things. and I think are important.

To my district and to the three committees I serve on. I'm on oversight. foreign affairs and the transportation Uh committees. Most people in Congress, everybody's on one committee, and some people are on two, but very few, if any, are on three. And somehow I was on three.

And they're actually three major committees, and they do a lot of work. And so, uh, I get And the critics will say, Well, what are you dealing with that for? And, you know, that's well, the Transportation Committee is going to deal with. with potholes and asphalt and things like that. It's And uh and oversight, of course.

You can't. Turn on the news without anything. I mean, the Hunter Biden thing, we dealt with that. Um, his not paying taxes and His um payments from Foreign entities and all that. And of course, um.

Foreign Affairs Everything going on with Israel and Gaza and all these things, the withdrawal from Afghanistan, you name it. It all deals with those. And so they're. Three pretty hot committees, and I'm And I serve on all those. And of course there are subcommittees that deal with that.

And not a whole lot really gets done in Washington. And that's part of the frustration of the of what's going on right now. I've got a couple of bills. I was able to if you can believe this, we were Um Use sending your tax dollars to the Taliban, of all things. And they denied it was going on.

Then we proved it. And then there's a report that came out and said, in fact, they were. It was millions of dollars. At one point, I think millions of dollars every week. And uh And these are people that want to kill us, and that's your tax dollars.

And nobody's paying a dadgum bit of attention because we're $35 trillion in debt. Every second we spend about. $78,000, if you can imagine that. And it just keeps adding. Every hundred days, we add another trillion dollars to the debt load.

And Nobody has a plan to pay it back. every in I believe in seven in seven years or less, the largest single item. That we will be paying will be just the interest on the loan. That's just shoveling money. Down a hole.

And Nobody really seems to care. Oh. Congress is concerned about, as a lot of politicians unfortunately, is just getting reelected. And Dad Gammett, we got to do better. We got to make tough decisions.

and nobody wants to make 'em. I I believe we're getting ready to go to a break. Right now. Is it right now? All right.

This is live, so I and I'm not I don't do this for a living, folks, so. And there'll be a dad gum count at the end. How many times I say dad gum, you'll If somebody will give them a free Birchet for Congress t-shirt.

I like to say East Tennessee is the only place in America where people do not speak with one, and I am a firm believer in that. Appreciate my buddy Todd Stearns allowing me to host the show today. He and I have been Friends for quite some time. And I'm glad he is uh in my native Tennessee, although we are in West Tennessee. I grew up in East Tennessee.

Which is on the Tennessee shaped like a cigar, if you've ever looked at it. It's a you can actually. Go To Canada from areas of Tennessee faster than you can go from. one end of the state to the other if you do it diagonally.

So a little trivia there in case someone ever asks you. In case there's ever like a radio talk show and you get a T shirt, that would be a excellent. A question to ask and answer. But I was talking a little bit about some of my legislation that I presented and. and my frustration with it, the the bill that your tax dollars going to the Taliban and And uh They they said, Well, what are they using that for, Burchett?

And I said, Well, is there was talk that I talked to some folks that thought some of the money was going towards these um They pay him a pension. If they lose their life, Taking out an infidel, which would be, I guess, a Jew or a Christian. I'm not sure. the exact definition there. And they were using actually your tax dollars, we think, for some of that.

But the problem, of course, is that Chuck Schumer will not bring it up in the Senate. It's just. beyond me. About how this thing works and how our national media, our legacy media, as it's being called. Um have uh Have controlled the narrative on a lot of these things and won't talk about it.

You would think this would be a Um bigger issue. But anyway We're getting ready to go into the break. I hear music in the background. I hope that means that they're gonna bring me some lunch in here pretty soon. Hi, everyone.

Advertisements sponsored by Legal Help Center may not be available in all states. Good afternoon. I'm Tim Barchett, filling in for the first time. My buddy Todd Starns, and I am pleased to be joined by Ben Dieter. The host of Wake up Memphis.

I about said Wake Up America. I'm sorry. I about cussed you there. You know what? This is so interesting because the rules are reversed a little bit.

when you join us in Memphis. I get the honor of interviewing you. And I was looking at your rundown. You're going to be interviewing half of the people that interview you on TV. Yeah, that's true.

That's true.

So break a leg. Hope they get my name right.

Well, that your team was great about that. When I first had you on the morning show in Memphis, I think I pronounced your name three different ways. And then they said it's Birchett. And I learned right there.

So, well, welcome to Memphis. Thank you. You know who gets my name right every time? Who? President Trump.

No way, really. Yep. I asked his people how he does it, and they said. He said, No, what's his name? And they say, Birchett and he goes, Birchett.

He looks at he says he looks in the mirror and goes, Birchett, Birchett, Birchit And he gets it right every goddamn time. Every time I've he's uh we were at a Our conference meeting just a few weeks ago, and he was there. And I asked a question. He goes, Hey, Tim, yeah, what's going on? And he was like, Real personable, so he's got a crazy photographic memory, I believe.

Well, it's interesting because I've always been curious with Trump and his endorsements. I heard that half of the people that he endorses I mean, you're up for re-election. He does those himself. Like, he's zoned in and he knows those congressional districts that are going to favor Republicans. He'll just shoot out that true social in two seconds.

Yeah, we were in. Actually, out of the district where I was going to some. Folks have asked me to speak in Clarksville, Tennessee. and a national podcaster. sent me a message and he tweeted out, Congratulations Tim and I was like For what?

You know, and he. And uh President Trump had endorsed me and I thought that was pretty cool because we had It was un unexpected. I didn't know he was going to do that, and he just did it. And he called me a Conservative warrior. Mhm.

That was pretty cool. Yeah. Yeah. Well, welcome to this side of the state. Do you get over to Memphis?

'Cause you're what for the listening audience.

So there's West Tennessee, Memphis, Middle Tennessee, Nashville area, and then East. Right. Which I really don't go to that often.

So, what, Congress?

Well, it's Middle East and West.

Okay. That's Tennessee, and I'm East Tennessee. No, I do not get over here very often. It's not in my district. Uh I spent sixteen years in the legislature in Middle Tennessee, in Nashville, of course.

And uh we I came over here, um I can I think I've been here I've been in Memphis three or four times my entire life. Hm.

Well, it's an interesting place. It definitely is. Very flat. Very flat. Very flat.

We were in. The Smoky Mountains for Dylan over here. He had a bachelor party. Right on. And we went to.

Oh man, we went white water rafting, and I'm from Pittsburgh, I'm from the north. We don't, I've never white water rafted, yeah, and they ask. If I wanted to sit in the front. Just a little bit. Was it Dylan?

No. No. It's a different river. The Okoe was. Yeah, it was it was not the code though.

And I wasn't expecting to get wet. Oh, man, you got drenched. Drenched. The first rapid. Yeah, you're out.

I got baptized. Yeah, it was crazy. Was the water cold? It was manageable. It wasn't bad.

It was Trump country, though.

So that's the difference because in dark blue Shelby County, I mean, you don't see many Trump flags. Everybody had a Jeep, and everybody had a Trump flag. It's just a different land over there. Yeah, it is. Very conservative, very red.

And and I love it. You know, we've got the influx too, of course. It's funny, a lot of folks are moving in from up north. What are the big challenges in your district?

Well, the people moving in are more conservative than I am. Really? Yeah, I sold my. We we moved out to the farm. Um of coup few years back and uh the house we sold we sold to um a wonderful couple and they're they're big supporters of mine now.

They um moved here from San Francisco and they're more conservative than I am. You know, they call themselves refugees. And we've got a community I spoke to um Yesterday mornin' uh a conservative club. Um down in in Lyldon. And and in the well the Lenore City area, I guess you'd call it.

And they um all conservative. Super conservative. I mean, you couldn't There's over a hundred folks at this thing, but they're Their their issues are are similar to everybody else. We just had an illegal, hasn't been talked about much, I don't know why, in the national media other than They tend to cover those things up. Um illegal.

Hit somebody in the air. Actually, they were alive when they took him to the hospital. I don't know what their condition is.

Now, I hit them in the head with a pickaxe. and the pickaxe was still stuck in their head when they loaded them up in the ambulance. And um They're concerned about the illegals that are that are in the area, they're starting concerned about crime. A dear friend of mine Um husband and wife. He's a fireman.

Uh they lost their son to an illegal who was drunk. driving, crossed the center line, head on, killed their kid. Um You know, that's a concern, of course, and the deficit. Every Every hundred days we add another trillion dollars to it. And I think just the frustration of why the rest of the country doesn't get it.

Yeah. More and more, I know Fred Thompson said. Uh when we are are Former U.S. Senator, who was a great friend of mine, he was so good to me. I miss him a lot, but he said that when more people are in the cart than are pulling the cart, we got problems in this country, and that's that's where we're at.

You know, everybody's along for the free ride. I'm going to get free school, free food, free Medicine-free everything, and that's going to solve everything. But somebody's got to pay for it. Yeah. I was out yesterday with some kids.

my age in their twenties and They've been kind of checked out from this political race between Trump v. Kamala. And they just had spent enough time, Congressman, on TikTok to know. That Kamala is going to give them affordable housing. That Kamala is going to pay for their college.

And it was like, when I was talking to him, I'm like, she does kind of sound like Santa Claus.

So if you're not intelligent. and you're just listening to some reels on TikTok or Instagram. You naturally probably are going to vote for Kamala Harris. There was a poll that came out, NBC had it over the weekend. Where I believe it's like 80% of Gen Z.

We'll vote for Kamala Harris. And I wonder if it's Just because we have to run against a party That they have been responsible. for increasing the cost to go fill up your gas tank. To go to Sprouts or Whole Foods, you walk out with two bags of groceries, it's 60 bucks. and yet they'll vote for them again.

It's free. Yeah. My wife was has an interesting comment about She'd just like to go to the grocery store, you know, and buy a couple of items for And and come out with change from a hundred dollar bill, and those days are just and they're gone. You know, the price of gasoline, everything else, and then. Uh The president's press secretary is allowed to just lie in the legacy media just like a bunch of lap dogs.

Pavlov's dog, they ring the bell and they come salivating. She said that prices have gone down. Mm-hmm. And well, if they have, it's 'cause they've peaked at such a high level that the the reality is is that they'd have to come down. Yeah.

But but they haven't. That was just a a outright lie and they're allowed to do that. Anybody that contradicts it, you know, you're You're called whatever label that they whatever think tank word they've come up with lately. Did you watch the DNC? Uh I didn't even want to watch the horror scene, but I had to go.

Oh, did you go? Yeah, I go. I went, of course. Yeah, I'm not much on the Pickens Pep rally, and I dig that. That's okay.

Yeah. But the The people there are already for you. Yeah. You know, it's the ones out in the world we got to get to. And the party showed great unity, I think, and that was important.

But no, I couldn't watch. It was insane. It was like It was an alternative universe of what I saw. Yeah. Everything they talked about.

I was just like, ugh, I couldn't stand it. I had to flip the channels. Yeah. Yeah, it's it's something. What do you think when you talk to your colleagues Do we have a shot of hanging on to the majority?

Yeah, I believe we really do. I think we need to. Turn off the major networks and and just Focus at Can I give you a story real quick? Sure. Both my parents are in heaven, and everybody who knows me has heard this dad gum story.

See, I said dad gum again. Every time I say that, we're supposed to be doing a counter, and then we're going to give somebody a Burchett for Congress t-shirt at the end of the call in and tell how many dad gums I say. I say that rather than a cuss word. But. My father was uh World War II veteran.

Combat Marine. He was man's man. He was a dean at University of Tennessee, Dean of Student Conduct, and he was a. He was a pretty cool guy. I was fortunate to have him.

And and my mama too, but but he was uh he'd had a massive stroke. And he was down there at the Benatchley nursing home, and he wasn't long he was gonna meet the Lord pretty soon. And I was I was the mayor. of Knox County. And I was I'm always always fighting.

You know, I was always fighting the Chamber of Commerce or the newspapers and everybody, you know, and And uh Um and so um um getting beat up pretty bad. And there was an editorial, I think, that day and maybe a front page article that was very disparaging towards me. And uh I walked in to see daddy and he he grunted out. He couldn't speak. He could just grunt.

And you could And mama and I could understand what he was saying. He could speak. He just couldn't u it was wasn't really the the doctors or nurses had a hard time and he grunted out and he said, They after you again, buddy. I said, Yeah, daddy, they are. And he said, Do you really want that bunch for you?

And I thought, man, that's pretty profound from a guy that's going to meet the Lord here just in a matter of days, which he did. And I've always remembered that conversation because if you watch The View or CNN or even Fox sometimes. Um And those folks are for you. Is that what you really want? You better start questioning your values.

Do you get back to your district a lot? You know how, like, half of the congresspeople spend, like, have a penthouse? In Georgetown, do you get back often? No, I I actually live in my office. I sleep on my couch.

Um uh You used to sleep in the bottom. Is it a futon at least? No. It doesn't turn into a bed? No.

My best friend gave me a cushion. We went and bought it for Christmas when I first got elected. I think it was. And that was all I could take that week. on my carry on and I I stuffed in my 'cause I I a shower and everything down in the locker room.

They open it at at around five o'clock in the morning. It opens. And I sleep on my couch, but I used to sleep on the floor. Had this dad got my air mattress and that thing would always go flat. It went I and then I got another one and it went flat.

Well, I was laying on it one night and I was talking to my wife and I was getting ready to You know. On the phone, I was here. I love you, honey. I'll talk to you tomorrow. And I go, Whoa, I said, A dust bunny just blew by, you know, because the dust on the floor is not always the cleanest in the Longworth building.

And uh and then I realized that my air was not on. and I realized it was either a rat or a mouse that just run right by my head. Oh snap. I got to eat and I so I moved to the couch. And that's when my buddy bought me my buddy Chris Haggerty bought me a cushion.

and I I roll it out every night, but that's where I stay. I don't My banker called me one time and said, 'Said, Tim, He said You're probably the most honest member of Congress, but he said you're definitely the poorest. Mm. It's an expensive deal up there. You you live in a little I guess they call them studio apartments, about as big as this Actual stereo.

and you'll pay over two thousand a month if you're lucky. That's insane. And that doesn't and then you have to go through you have to eat up your deductible by getting shot by some. gang banger or some angry, uh Yeah. You know, I was listening.

There was an interview I was listening yesterday, and they said DC has now become like the place to live and stay. Whereas a lot of times people come for maybe a season of their life, maybe a professional opportunity, and they were there for a year or two years, maybe even five, and then they went back home. Whether that be journalists. Whether that be lobbyists, whether that be your congresspeople. And now it's like where people just go to stay.

So you have a conflict of interest because half of the people in Congress, you could speak to this because you are a congressperson. Their best friends hanging out at Drinks, happy hour with the reporters in town. Right. Well, I I as soon as they bang that gavel on a Thursday or Friday, my butt's on an airplane. I'm coming back to Tennessee.

I don't. Uh I've talked to congress members that said that they spent thirty or forty days all year at home in their district. And I just that's foreign to me. I I actually love my wife and daughter, and I'm going to get home to them. And they're back in Tennessee on the farm.

We're not. Um My daughter was uh was born up there. My wife was a widow, and I married her and adopted Our little girl. And sh and they're both wonderful, but it's um But She lived up there. She said, Maybe when I got elected, she said, um.

We were talking about I was talking about running for Congress, and she said She said, I got this. She'd raised that little girl on her own for quite some time and she did a wonderful job. Toughest toughest job there is. Being be I'd say being a single mom in this world. Very cool.

Well Thanks for having me. Yeah, thank you, brother. Thanks for coming on. In the studio. Yeah.

I used to do some talk radio back in Knoxville on Sundays when guys were either the I don't know, I think they got they might have got drunk or something and hung over and they'd say, Hey, Bridget, can you fill in for me? And I'd be on in the State House and and I had very short notice on one of them and I remembered a guy who's passed away now. His name was David Folk, David Earl Folk, and he um He could tell I was struggling, didn't have a lot to talk about. And uh he came in and and we just talked the whole time and it was it was pretty cool, right? And then we started getting calls in on Callers calling in and Wanted to talk and it was pretty cool.

Well, if they do, studio line is 901-260-5926. 901-260-5926. Thanks for having me. Hey, thank you, brother. I'm giving him the break sign because we got a break.

Ideally not hell. But you're supposed to go to heaven if you're good. I think our country is missing a lot of religion. I think it really was a much better place with religion. It was almost a guide, to a certain extent it was a guide.

You want to be good to people. Without religion, there's no real There are no guardrails. I'd love to see us get back to religion, more religion in this country. That, of course, was President Donald Trump, and the bumper music was Gimme Three Steps by Leonard Skynyrd. based on a true story.

Wished I had time to talk about that. President Trump is right. Need to get back. To God. Folks are critical of Him and His faith, and that's not our job to judge.

I don't want Him. Uh be and my dad come uh Sunday school teacher down here at the Baptist Church in Knoxville. I want him to run our country. I want him to go after thugs like Solomani that he did and not worry about what the UN thinks or Nancy Pelosi or Congress, just to be a dadgum leader. And take care of business.

And that's what he did. And that's why the swamp, it's not a swamp, it's actually a sewer. is so much against Donald J. Trump right now. They know if he gets a hold of this thing, he is going to go through it like Grant through Richmond.

He is going to clean that place up. And that's what it needs. It's a trash can, folks. And um I think we're getting ready to go out for another. No, wait, no, I got a full minute.

I missed my. My my timing there. I could have told my Leonard Skynyrd story. Why didn't I? I d I don't know.

I don't know. Leonard Skinner the cat. Yeah, I did have a cat named Leonard Skinner, but uh He went. I believe he went to his micer. But anyway, back to Trump.

You know, look. were all broken vessels. Um David was not a Was not a good dude. I mean, he slept with Bathsheba. He had his best friend killed, his best general.

And then that's where. That's what we ended up with, but he turned out to be a heck of a heck of a leader. Anyway, folks, I'm Congressman Tim Burchett filling in for Todd Stones, and I believe we are getting ready to go out for another break. I'm hearing the bumper music, and I'm still not seeing any pizza in here for me to eat.

So. Keep playing that Leonard Skinner music though, that would really help me get along. Thank you. Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's America's conservative blowtorch. That's right.

I love this American ride. Tough starts. That was the legendary Toby Pink. God rest his soul. What a patriot.

I met him one time in Nashville. and he was actually with his wife. and he was very protective of his family. Which is pretty cool because a lot of you get the stalkers and the crazies and everybody trying to get to you. And He was walking into a steakhouse, and I gave him my card, and Didn't want to bother him and And I said, but could you maybe send me an autograph picture?

And he did. I thought that was pretty cool. He was a very Patriotic person, and he's a great singer-songwriter. Even Scottie Emmert were. Emmert, I believe his name.

They wrote some incredible songs. We're going to go to A few and my wife tells me to quit yelling, so I'm gonna I'm trying to start an um I just can't hear very well. Go and take some collars, if that's okay. Is that all right?

Well, we start off at the top there. How about Bobby? Been holding for a long time. Bobby, are you there? Oh, hi, Tim.

Can you hear me, sir? I can hear you, brother. Welcome to the show. Bless you, Mr. Burchett.

I'm out in Farragut, actually. I saw you at the Independence Day parade. I didn't speak with you, but I seen you come out. It was nice of you to be out there. Yes, sir.

Try not to miss that. That's a great parade. I had my wife and daughter with me and a bunch of my supporters. That's a great 4th of July parade. I love that, Independence Day.

It's beautiful, and we appreciate you coming out there. And I'm just a big supporter of yours. I voted for you. In each and every opportunity I've had, I will continue to do so, sir. And interesting to see on the radio.

I love hearing you on the radio as well. You know, a lot of people say, hey, you're a politician, you're not a radio guy, but there's plenty of politicians who have made it work in the radio and the media game. You know, Mike Huckabee, Joe Walsh, So, I mean, you know, plenty of politicians have what it takes to be a radio host. And let me tell you something, Mr. Burchett, you are not one of them.

I agree. I agree. You know what it is? You know what it is, Bobby? The fact that uh They're not getting the full effect.

It's my incredible good looks that really sells me as a person. It is not my speaking ability. Um I I know you're a bit of a prankster. I did hear I've heard that, right. There's everyone's got a story about old Burchett.

Possibly. Possibly. I'm not sure this is a family show, so let's try to keep it there. But go ahead, Bobby. I won't say any of the crazy ones, but I did hear once.

Is it true that you left one of your fresh logs on Mitch McConnell's desk? Yeah. I got cut. I don't know. I'm Mitch McConnell.

I don't Okay. All right. Well, let's go to Stan the man. And I'm glad we got caller ID. We can call it.

I can always call those folks back, so that'll be great. Go ahead, Stan. Fellow Congressman, it's been a blessing to hear you today. Thank you, brother. I heard you talking about you were mayor of Knox County and you ate at a particular cafeteria.

Was that happen to be South of Knoxville off of old Wisegarber Road, north of uh Bojangles.

Well, I I got used to go to Wright's cafeteria, but COVID did it in.

Okay. Uh up there in 2014 with my father. I heard you talk about your father's World War II. service. My father was U.

S. Navy veteran in World War two in Korea. He made it through those okay, and Coven got him in twenty twenty. But we were up there at the Proton Center for treatment for lung cancer and maybe five years. Wow.

At Proton Center I was um We were instrumental in helping get that there. That was. That's a that's really Cutting edge. Technology. This would save his life.

And as I said, he made it through World War II and the Korean War, but succumbed to COVID. And we ate at that cafeteria and they said the mayor comes in every day and and they pointed you out one day, but we didn't bother you.

Well, I wish you had. I would always it's funny, those guys that were over there, there was um They would have Yeah, the one year anniversary or whatever and a group of 'em there'd be five or six of those guys over there. They um treated prostate, a lot of the prostate cancer and stuff like that and they were always over there and I'd I'd go up sometimes and they'd ring the bell and things like that.

So, yeah, that's a That's kind of cool that that's right there. And oddly enough, that field where they built that, I grew up. And Middleburg Pike is what it's located on right there. is really just a two-lane path.

Now it's a it's a state highway, but it's that It's it's uh It's widened quite a bit, and those old farm fields back there everybody used to play in are now. Um industrial sites, medical Uh Medical facilities like that, and it's it's gotten a pretty good use.

So that's Knoxville's really booming. Yes, sir. Well, the proton therapy worked for him And he was in he made it to 96 before he succumbed to COVID. And my mother. succumbed to COVID at the same time, about a month after him My brother and I both got COVID.

We're COVID long haulers now, but your history was very interesting with your father. And My father made, like you said, made it through World War II in Korea and then succumbed to COVID, but Again, it's been a blessing. We ate at the same cafeteria. I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to stop and talk to you.

Well, next time you pay my salary, next time you come up and bother me, and you're not bothering me. I always enjoy hearing from folks. Yes, sir. Well, thank you for taking the time to talk with me. Thank you, brother.

I appreciate you and. God bless your dad and his incredible service to our country. That's a that's a quite a legacy. All right, that was nice. And we go to Yeah.

From Memphis. Who I think it's critical of me using the term dad gum. Is this here the Yeah, it is. Mm-hmm. Is this Tim?

This is hey.

Well, I was just gonna say there's other words he could use other than dad gum, you know, and I was gonna, if you get your pencil out, I'll give you a list here. All right. And some of the other listeners could call in, you know. There's, you know, these are safe for radio. It's it's all good.

Like Dag Nabit. It's one of my favorites. Dag Nabit, the PV? I yeah, I I've I've and people have have said that I use that. I never do.

It's always dead gum. It's um I always tell people it's better than a cuss word. I have a swear jar full of IOUs back at the house, so I'm. I'm trying to and I've got a 17-year-old daughter and the last thing I want her to tell her mom when her mom calls her out for saying something that's not appropriate, she'll say, Well well, dad uses that term.

So dad gummet is about as far as I go.

Well this You all doing it? You can you can say, uh, land of Gossian? Yeah. Six alive? There's lots of things you can say either.

at a you know, safer radio and uh And for for little kids. Yeah. Well, Dad Gummit's kind of my hashtag. I appreciate you saying that. I'm I've had a lot of people, a lot of comments.

I'm on when I'm on some of the national news stations. There's one in particular. They'll they'll do a dadgummick count at the end. And the ladies on there get really tickled about that. I think that's pretty funny.

Yeah. Well, actually, this is Paul Shankl, and I was just pulling your leg a little bit. I figured that was you, Paul. How are you doing, brother? Doing good.

Headed to the hardware store and just thought of some other words you could say.

Well, take your checkbook, man. It's not as you know, the supply chain's killing us right now.

Well, absolutely. Yes, I'm I'm at this point just trying to put something back together instead of buying something new. Yeah. That's generally what I do. I I probably better off sometimes I just bought new, but it's uh You know that YouTube, that's the craziest dadgum thing I've uh A a re um replastered a pool, watching a YouTube video or evil the pool pump.

I actually, um did minor heart transplant But I I I It didn't make it, so I don't really brag about that one. Yeah. I got a buddy at Vall Market number three down there on Western Avenue in Knoxville who. Actually use gorilla glue and and put and put his tooth back in his head. Um it it's that it it lasted three years.

So, you know, but his kids were born with webbed feet, but we're not sure if that was the cause of it, but they're really incredible. They're incredible swimmers. Yeah, well, and that uh gorilla glue tends to foam up, so it'll make you talk funny as well. It does. It does, but it you know, if you get it just right, you can turn like two mediocre teeth into one good one.

That's true.

That is true. And I've got a skid steer that I it loves me. It wants to be paid attention to on a regular basis, so that's what I'm doing today. But it's good to hear you filling in for Todd. Yeah, I won't.

I won't. He's not going to ask me back anyway because Um the collars are Some of the callers have been using some foul language, so that I think I've inspired all the trolls out there. It's it's the Memphis thing. Uh yeah, that's how it is. But uh it is flat country, but uh at least we we don't have to walk uphill very much.

That's true.

That is true. That's true.

Well, thank you for calling in, brother. That was a Pretty famous collar there. Um Judy from Georgia. Wants to do a shout out to Pigeon Forge. Judy.

How are you, Matt? I am wonderful. My husband and I love the Gatlinburg and the Pigeon Forge and Joe's many times. Of course, he's passed away now. But that was our love.

But one day we were eating it. It's a tradit was a tradition. We ate breakfast on our way in at the Lodge Cabin Pancake house in Gatlinburg. Yes, ma'am. And this guy came around too.

He was walking around the table speaking to everybody. When he got to us and found out we were Not from there. He said, Do you mind if I sit down with you? And we said, Of course, you know. He wanted to know what we thought about Tennessee and what we thought could improve it, and were so glad to see us, and blah, blah, blah.

Uh He left. And when the waitress came back, I said, Well, that's nice that you've got somebody that. I greet her here. I said, that's very, very special. And she said, honey, he's the governor of Tennessee.

And she does this periodically. I don't know if it was you or not, but. It made a lasting impression. How long ago was that? About ten years ago.

Ten years ago.

So that would have been uh Well, heck, it could have been Don Sundquist, it could have been Could have been Bill probably was Bill Haslam. I would think maybe I wish I had got his name, but you know, we really enjoyed that.

Well, that's good.

Well, that's good.

I know that I know the former governor well. He lives he's from my hometown. We used to go to the same church. I used to say that it was his reason that I had spiritual growth because When we sat together, his snoring kept me awake, and I had to focus on the preaching.

So. Oh oh my goodness. And I enjoy your accent, ma'am. I'm glad I'm glad you don't have one like me. Oh, my goodness.

And I'm sorry I'm sorry you lost your husband. My mom and daddy that's where they went on their their honeymoon was to was to uh Gatlinburg, right after the Second World War. Oh, we just we just love it. Just love it up there. And I I still go with with some friends.

Often as I can, it brings back precious memories with my husband. But I always pull a tooth every time, I lose a feeling every time I go up there because I eat that taffy, you know. They they sell up there. And those candied apples, you can break you could they those things are just a weapon. You can crack somebody's head with one of those.

Ain't that the truth? It's a great place. Yes, ma'am. A friend of mine worked in a motel one time, and they were asking for directions. And um they pulled in and they pointed they said they were going to Piggy on Forgay.

And they said, I don't know where that is. I've lived here my whole life. I don't know what you're talking about. And they pointed to it on the map, and it was. It was some Northern folks, and it was actually Pigeon Forge.

So They had they did they didn't know proper Southern English, I guess. That's too funny.

Well, I think one of the best things that Fishing Forge has ever done is put in the islands. Yes, ma'am. Just dropped me off there and picked me up three days later and I'm ready to come home. Yes, ma'am. A buddy of mine, um Sid Blaylock, Sid and Joe, they're both passed away, but they That was one of their deals.

That's a really cool thing up there. They they've done really well with that. They sure have.

Well, thank you, Judy. Oh, yes, ma'am. I appreciate you. I'm looking at looks like we got a break coming up. And I don't know that because they were supposed to bring in some food at some point, but I haven't seen it yet.

So I'm not really sure what's up with that. But we're. I'm Congressman Tim Barchett and Filling in for Todd Starns, and we'll be right back. As a conservative, as someone who believes in and cares about the Constitution, I have thought deeply about this and because of the danger that Donald Trump poses, not only am I not voting for Donald Trump, but I will be voting for Connell Harris. That was Liz Cheney, formerly the number three person in the state House, or excuse me, in the U.S.

House, I'm thinking back to my days, the state legislature. um telling the world that she will be voting for Kamala Harris. instead of Donald J. Trump, which is no big shock. And I always remembered.

I warned our leadership about some things with her, and they said, Oh, you don't know what you're talking about, Burchett. She's loyal, she's loyal. when um I remembered they They would take go-in meetings. And uh And she took Kinzinger with her, one time, Adam Kinzinger, who sat behind me on one of the committees I served on. And I heard him on the news that night saying, I don't think.

The President Did anything illegal, or he said, I hope he didn't do anything wrong, or something like that. It was very. I just didn't like it, and I was talking to our leadership about that, and they, as usual, patted me on the head, told me I didn't know what I was talking about. and then I c remember confronting her about why she would take him into the White House. And she said that she did not make that decision, that it was made by the White House, that they chose who went in.

And I did a little research and found out that was not the case. And she called me. She's an expletive and called me a liar on the house floor. I always remember that. And then We saw what happened and they finally ended up Removing her from her leadership position.

Um and I just thought all that was avoidable. And I always remember after January 6th one of the um one of the members who will go unnamed, but I remember them saying, This is probably the first conflict in America that the um the Chinese did not profit from.

So I thought that was pretty that was pretty pretty humorous, but She um She's gone on and she's selling books, I guess. That's what they all do. And I I don't know what The future is there. with her. Leadership ability in in the White House.

He basically Co-opted or took over several major issues that actually no Vice President in the past had had anything to do with. And there's a lot of um The uh questionable decisions that were made about our war our wars and Young men and women going off and fighting in these wars and dying, and the billions and billions of dollars that we spent that could have been spent here. in this country on things, or maybe not spent at all, And saved, but they chose not to, and that's, of course, history, and that's the history of that family. We are going to take some calls if you'd like to call in the studio 901-260-5926, 901-260-5926. And we've got a caller.

Looks like Susie in Georgia. Do we have time?

Okay. How long to the break? I don't I'm Oh, I got 30 seconds. I'm sorry, Susie, if you can hang on, I guess we'll come back to you. We got 30 seconds.

And this is where I have to just kind of Wander off in conversation until to burn up the time that we have left. But I'm hearing music in the background, so that means that we are. coming upon another break. Seems like just when I get wound up, y'all crank up the music. and still no pizza.

Shut up on the picture. It's definitely a lot better standard. Yeah. Back in the 60s, slash 70s, and I'd be laying out on the couch and eating grapes or something. This is Congressman Tim Barchett.

Feeling in for my buddy Todd Starnes. And we We really gotta. Good. guest coming up here. It's my buddy Carl Higby from Newsmax, host of the Carl Higby Frontline.

And if y'all aren't watching News Max, you're missing out. It is one of the premier news stations that's on television. They are cutting into everybody's ratings. Um even people tried to put them out of business. And they All they do is put out the news.

and they are some really wonderful folks. Carl, are you are you listening? Yes, sir, am all right, brother. I appreciate you. Tell us a little bit about Newsmax, Carl.

Make sure people understand what the heck it is.

Well, I'm just a normal guy with no college degree who dropped out of college after nine eleven and joined the military to go kill bad guys.

So they tripped I kind of tripped and fell and landed in front of a camera. And now I'm Ended up being one of their top rated shows at 5 p.m.

So that's kind of how it came to be. But it's a nice place to be because It allows me basically the freedom to address issues as they actually come up and not by some corporate sponsor.

So you give me a lot of leeway here. It's really nice. Yeah, I that's one thing I like about being on with you, brother. You um you don't pull any punches and you just kinda they they let you go and and I think that um that shows especially with the uh With the ratings, man. I mean, that's got to be encouraging.

Now, you're. You're being a little modest about your You're military service, you're a navy seal. Um Patriot. And uh I'm always I served with several Navy SEALs in Congress and. And it always surprises me though.

I meet some of those guys and some of them are like you You see on television, they're the big burly dudes, but some of them are a little more Slight. And um and it's just uh it seems like it's a well-rounded group of a group of folks. It's a well-rounded. We're all a little bit crazy. All of our wives think we're all a bit insane.

But you know what? It kind of. It takes one to go over and do the things that we did, but we're all happy to do it, and it's a great group of guys. Yeah. Well, anyway, I.

My buddy Eli Corane, uh He never says that uh he never says hardly anything. He's a I guess he was a sniper. My dad sin served in the Pacific, Second World War, and he said, Yeah. Those snipers never really did talk a whole lot. I guess they did.

They wouldn't be around too long. But let's talk about some issues. That's all right. What are you thinking about Tim Wallace's family members endorsing Trump? I mean, to me, that's people that knew him best.

I was. I thought, oh, that's AI stuff, that's bogus, you know, and Sure enough, it's the I mean his own brother. Is uh he did even he said he heard on the radio his brother was going to be the You know, it got the Democrat vice presidential nod. And what do you think about all that? Yeah.

I mean, look, if your own family is not endorsing you, you've got problems. And it's not like one person in this family. It's like all of them. No, it's all of them. It's like a.

Yeah. Oh, it's insane. I mean, like, I've never seen an entire literally an entire branch of your family tree being like, nah, this is not the guy we want run in the country. But I mean, so the military the guys he served with in the military, they're saying the same thing. And look, I realize that Tim Wolf Somehow dug deep and found some of the least testosterone-ridden people that ever showed up on his football team when he was the assistant coach, not the main coach, by the way.

He found them and put them up on stage in their jerseys from high school, and none of them fit because they were all like low-T fat people. And I am looking at this, I'm like, this is the best you can do.

Well I'm sixty and I I I guess I could still fit in my football uniform, but it's um And most of the guys I played with, they're all in fairly good shape. I looked at that too, and I thought that was a little. That was a little awkward. It was just a little awkward. But I get it.

Yeah. Well. Let me ask you this. What do you think about what I was trying to think of? I know I thought of it just now was I bet they're Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, but they.

He's a big liberal, so it's probably not a Christmas dinner. He probably calls it winter solstice. winter solstice tofu. But I can't imagine their um their families getting out there. And I'd say that'd be a that'd be an interesting little conversation over over a turkey leg.

I tell you, with that family tree, I would buy stock in Trump wine because I have a liberal mother-in-law. And look, Bless her heart. I love my wife to death, but man, her mom can be a lot sometimes. And I have zero problem busting out the Trump wine at dinner, having the conversations, letting it rip. And you know, I think that's the that's the new world we live in now.

It's like you gotta have every battle pick every fight, because the fights you don't pick, you lose. I agree. I agree. That's what's wrong right now. You know, preachers won't preach because they're afraid of being labeled.

Kids in the classroom are demonized. And I can remember I was. I just turned 60 two weeks ago. And I could remember my college years, though, as I like to say, the turbulent 80s, which weren't turbulent at all. Reagan was in the White House, and I remember I had a sociology teacher, and she just would rail on us.

And it was a mandatory class, so it was like a double classroom. Everybody had to take it. And if she didn't rail on us, she railed on me because I'd be the one that would stand up about, and I'd say, no, that's not right. And you know, and defend President Reagan. And I can remember.

Every time I did that, I would walk out of the classroom after class and some A guy or a girl comes up and say something like, Man, I was with you all along, man. I really appreciate you standing up for, you know, what's right or whatever. And I was like, dude, man, why didn't you jump in? I need a little help. And that's what we've got now.

Well, that's the problem. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, that is a huge problem, is everybody is so afraid of offending people. You know, I'm going to be talking about this tonight on my show, which is like these school shootings, particularly, like, guns aren't the problem.

You know, just as well as anyone. The problem is the parenting and the culture and the lack of morals that our kids are being brought up with. We're being given medications to wake up, medications to calm down from the medication we use to wake up, and then a medication to go to sleep. And then they want to ram weight loss drugs into six-year-olds because they're fed full of Crap with 800 synthetic ingredients in it, and we're like, oh yeah, guns are the problem. No, that's not the problem.

We have such a lack of morals in today's society. Criminals don't go to jail, drag queens are torque in kids' faces, and yet nobody's saying anything, to your point. And if nobody's willing to say anything, this weird stuff and this wrong stuff and unhealthy stuff is going to run rampant. And someone's got to stop it. And it becomes the norm, or what we think is the norm.

And then the kids start thinking that they're. I'm weird. I'm weird because I that's not why w the way I think and then they They they transpose all this stuff into their little minds and then they start thinking that way. That was a The problem was, I think, TikTok. Uh the um You know, they know what kids they self-diagnose.

I remember talking to a uh a parent one time about They were mad that I had voted to, um stop health care for their child and I said How did I vote to stop health care for your child? And it was, you know, I wasn't going to vote for. federal funding for for sex change operations and we started talking about it. And I said, well, I just I had to They were willing to talk and I wanted to listen a little bit what they were saying. And I asked him, I said, well, how did your child The what the doctor oh no no no no no.

Um she it was he's actually a he had She she's self-diagnosed on the Internet. And so here's what happens, folks. You start, your kids start. googling this stuff or whatever. or watching a video on TikTok.

And that's the stuff that you watch, or you ask a question, then they get covered up with these suggestive videos that, hey, you know, you're not normal. It's not normal. I mean, kids are awkward. They're awkward. That's just the way it is.

And um little girls, you know, they look at These trashy whatever on television, and they think that's the way they're supposed to be, and they're not developed that way. And and then, you know, and they have these um issues with confidence and things like that. And the same way with little boys. And it's just and this stuff is evil and it is and it is very, very suggestive. And we need to get control of it.

And you're right. It comes down to parenting. I hit the lottery, I had two great parents. A lot of my buddies didn't. They didn't have any.

And kids today, a lot of them don't, you know, they're raised by an aunt or a grandparent or something. And they don't have that. And we wonder why. You know, we're filling up our prisons right now. It's just because of that.

Right. How do you Uh I knock on doors. That's how I get elected. Obviously, it's not just my good looks and and incredible personality and IQ level. It's actually I I knock on doors.

And one of the biggest issues out there right now is this border crisis. in the national security involved. We just had a In Knoxville, Tennessee, a guy, he's apparently illegal. Attack somebody with a pickaxe. Matter of fact, when they took it to the hospital, it was still stuck in his head, if you can believe that.

And the guy was, I don't know. where they're at right now, but. What are you hearing on that? You know, Kamala, they sent the word out on high that she was not the border czar. Of course.

All the legacy media, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, they all have clips where their calling under the borders are. And they, you know, had to back off of that because Uh the Democrat National Committee Sent word out that she was not the border czar anymore. Quit saying that. And so, um, and now she's talking about building a wall. Does that surprise you that she could do that 180 that fast and that the media would just suck up to her?

Well, that it's the same reason she's not doing any press conferences because they just cover for her. I mean, look, we saw Tom Cotton, one of your Senate colleagues, He was over there on NBC or NBC, what are those networks that I don't watch. And he basically said, like, this is Kamala's position. And the anchor, the anchor defended Kamala. Said, no, that's not our position.

But it was. This is a woman who, like you said, she was the border's argument. She cannot run from that. And yet they're willing to build a wall around the Capitol for something that suits their needs, defended by the same weapons they don't want us to have. And yet they don't want to do it on the border.

But then when they find out that it polls properly, and it's like, hey, people are like, I'm really sick and tired of enough fentanyl to kill every man, woman, and child in America go through our border every single year. They're like, oh, yeah, this wall actually in some focus group came back as a really good idea. You should run with that. And it's like the media what's insane is the media just covers for you. Washington Post, Democracy Dies in the Darkness is their tagline.

They are the darkness. They all are. They just memory hole anything that's not convenient for their Golden calf, Kamala Harris. And we're supposed to just fall in line. No, I'm so done with this.

Well, she, um She is the um the the golden child, if you will. They I I saw the other day where she was getting off the airplane and, um Um And and she had her her earphones in as she was supposedly taking a call. That was her new strategy. To stop from talking to the press. cannot believe Excuse me.

I cannot believe that they allow her that luxury. And that's you know, Of course, that's what they've done to Joe Biden since he was in office. He was. You know, I would I would get on I c I was on um I think I was on Fox one time and I said something about how that he is he's not mentally capable of of doing the job and they're like, Whoa, whoa, you can't say that you know, and I was then I think they kicked me off for a couple of weeks. And uh, you know, that that's just their MO.

They've got so much invested in this far left. Um business that they they they can't divest themselves from it. And they they own Joe Biden. They put him in office. They they covered for him continuously.

They You know, he would have a press conf or a a rally and twelve people would show up. And then Trump would fill up a a a super stadium. And all they could say was, Well, Trump's spreading spreading the virus, you know, that's all they're doing And then they would talk about how responsible Joe Biden was because the twelve people were separated by by ten feet between em And um at at his conferences.

So it it's y you know, uh they own him and they own her. They've they've done it and they know for a fact. If Donald J. Trump is is reelected, And he will clean that garbage up and their gravy train will end on all that stuff that they promoted and they pushed out there to the American public. and they can't stand it.

And that's and the people that are out there channing for Kamala right now. The vast majority of them, it's their gravy train. They're not voting for her, they're voting for a program or a. policy that that they profit from some way or another. Yeah.

No, I mean that's that's the problem with DC is You know, I and I've said from day one that if you decentralize D.C., and he could do this by executive order, you know, move the FBI to find the highest crime county in America and you put the FBI smack dab in the middle of it. And then when they solve that problem in their own backyard, then move them to the next highest and the next highest. You want to fix the traffic problem? You move Pete Buttigag and his traffic cabal and his Transportation Secretary office to the middle of the I-5 traffic in L.A. The education department finds the lowest education scores in the country.

You stick him and all of his know-how and all these people that think they know education better and that it shouldn't be federalized. You put them in the lowest scoring area of Mississippi and you decentralize that, all of a sudden, not only would you have them start solving problems and doing their job, but you'd have those people drastically turn back the size of their agency because nobody would want to live outside of D.C. because that's where all the money is. You want to fix the money problem? You've got to get everybody the hell out of D.C.

You're exactly right, Carl. And I hate it, but we got to go to a break. You can just hang on for a second, brother. Hold that thought. We'll be right back.

Well I think the reality is for this entire race, whether we obsess on Biden, what do they do? They swap out Biden.

Now obsessed over Kamal Harris's policies, what does she do? She switches out those policies. I think the reality is we have to offer our own vision of who we are and what we stand for, irrespective of what chameleon or what puppet the other side puts up. Seal the border, end rampant crime in this country, fight inflation, grow the economy, stay out of World War III, revive our national identity and pride in this country. That's true, Jesse, irrespective of what the Democrats put up.

That's the ultimate way we protect ourselves against that managerial system. That was Vivek, as he is affectionately called. Um Talking about That what the President needs to do is stick to policy, and I couldn't agree more. Actually, um my conversation with him, I I urged him to To talk about those types of things, talk about what's policies that he can put in place that are going to help solve some of the problems. The $600 more a month out of pocket that the American families are paying the price of fuel.

how we're going to heat our homes this this winter. and the things that he's going to do to put America back to work. And America's working right now, but they're working two or three dadgum jobs to Uh taken care of in the past.

So Uh would hope that President Trump would listen to Vivek. I think he's um he's He's got a lot of people's ear right now, and I. I I'm I'm a fan of his. I've I talked to him at the Republican convention. Um and he was um He was very personable one-on-one, and he as he is on the national stage.

So I. I would think he's um he's somebody we ought to be paying a lot of attention to. And I If I was talking to the President, I just before I came on the air, I talked to One of the folks that's working with him. for preparation for the um for the debates coming up. And that is I believe that is.

the President's focus right now, and I hope he stays on it. I hope he stays on it. And I believe we're getting ready to go into another break here. Just in, I'm looking at the producer. I apologize folks, radio is not my back.

We got 30 seconds. Now what am I going to talk about for 30 seconds? Do I have any idea? I don't know. But hearing that music coming in is actually No pun intended with music for my ears.

Thank you all so much. This is Congressman Tim Burchett filling in for my good friend Todd Stars. We'll be right back after the ball. Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's America's favorite gun totem, Bible-clinging, deplorable American. That's right.

I love this American ride. Star. We all know costs are too high, but while corporations are gouging families, Trump is focused on giving them tax cuts. But Kamala Harris is focused on you. Building up the middle class will be a defining goal of my presidency.

She'll make groceries more affordable by cracking down on price gouging, and she'll cut housing costs by taking on corporate speculators. Middle-class families build America. We need a leader who has their back. I'm Kamala Harris, and I approve this message.

Now that's usually the the left uh anti-capitalist standpoint, the evil corporations, those evil corporations, as if Who owns those evil corporations?

Well, you and I do. Our retirement accounts are based on those, our stocks and those things. Um the price gouging thing. Look. Uh Grocery stores.

They're they're profit is less than three per cent. generally, or less than that. They sell some things at a loss and other things at a profit. And You continuously hear this talk. The problem we've got is that the dollar doesn't go as far as it used to is because we're printing it like crazy.

It's like if you got. If you're thirsty and you've got a glass of sweet tea in front of you and it's about half full, and you start pouring water into it. To get more tea out of it, you're not going to get more tea out of it. You're just going to get watered-down tea. And that's exactly what they're doing to this economy: they print more money.

They infuse it into the system. And it's very short-sighted, and we know what the end result is because we're seeing it right now. Americans are out. Six hundred a month more. Just to survive $600 more a month, and that adds up.

Working class Americans are hurting. and it's the middle class that's hurting. She wants to destroy I mean, she's her her policies are Marxist Leiden, and she will destroy this country with those policies. Mm-hmm. Um let's go to a caller.

And if you want to call in, please do 901-260-5926. Justin and call your real. Hey, Tim. Just wanted to call in and say thank you. I wish we had nine congressmen just like you across Tennessee.

I think we'd be in a better place. But I called about it was a while back You had a viral, I guess, moment When you came out of Congress and actually I think y'all were trying to fix illegal immigration, and then you made the comment. That Republicans or Democrats don't want to fix illegal immigration because. They got old Juan working on the roof, and if he falls off the roof, that way they don't have to pay for his insurance.

So that's why the Chamber of Commerce. comes down there and lobbies against fixing any kind of illegal immigration. And it's just sad. You know, I started thinking, you know, all the construction companies that I grew up with as a kid, you know, I used to frame houses in the summers as a teenager. They're all gone because they could not compete with Um Illegal immigrants basically roofing companies and framing and just any kind of construction.

Yeah. I'd say you can't compete with slave labor. I mean, that's what you've got. And it's very unfortunate. And I did.

you know, if some guy's working on your roof and he falls off, And he gets hurt. He's not going to. He's not going to sue anybody.

Well, he might try to, but he'll end up in the emergency room with no insurance, and you and I are going to pay for it, and we'll pay for it through higher costs. And you're exactly right. In the National Chamber of Commerce, People are Very forgetful. They endorsed Uh when it was very close, when I was first elected to Congress, I can remember they endorsed thirteen or fourteen of uh Nancy Pelosi's closest people in the house And um and they They were credited with actually electing several of them and giving the Democrats the majority. And it's the old principle of a you're in an alligator tank with your friends and you keep feeding your friends to the alligators.

Well, eventually, you're going to run out of friends and those alligators are going to turn on you. And that's what you're going to see with this economy crashing. Because we'll no longer be able to To keep it. And shame on our national chambers of commerce. It's not the local chambers, it's the national.

And I um Of course, they pay into it a very small percentage, but They've got some new leadership up there. The National Chamber of Commerce, a fellow named Rodney Davis, I was in Congress with. And I hope I hope he, um Hears that message, and he takes it to his leadership and tells them, We've you can't any more of this nonsense, but you're right. That's why it's here. We all it's a wink and a nod kind of thing in Washington.

And it's it's very gutless in my opinion. But thanks for that. We need to do all we can to get American jobs back in America and actually give them to citizens. Yeah, and I tell you what else, Justin, you know, the trades for so long, my degree was technological and built education. It was basically shop.

They told me quit saying shop, but it really was. I learned how to wire a house. I learned um I I learned uh how to weld, MIG, tig and stick. Um Gas I can I can do a lot of things. I work on engines and things like that.

And you know, you cannot export A clogged toilet to Mexico. We've got to have those people here. And these snobs in education for years. Oh, that's beneath us. You know, every kid needs to go to college.

Well, Dad Gummit, not every kid's going to go to college. Let's just be honest. And we've created this image that they will. and they won't. And um And some of the majors in college they get out and they're You can they're working down here at at the coffee shop because there is no jobs available in their majors.

So it's a And the other problem we got is kids won't work today. It's just a lot of the kids won't.

Some will. But they um they complain, they d they show up late. I've I speak to these groups. A lot in my district, and in Knoxville, particularly, I was speaking to a group, a little girl. She was the top, she won the welding competition for the entire country.

And um just a dynamite young lady and she's really going to go places. Yeah, I I I I try to encourage those kids because they can make a great living. And and I said, you gotta You got to pass a drug test and you got to show up. And if you can do those two things, you will find a job in this economy.

Well, we need that especially in Memphis because we have a horrible juvenile crime Problem and a lot of it is everybody's babying so much, but I think it's somewhere in the Bible it says don't feed them and they'll they'll find a way to work. Yeah, I used to have some goats. It's kind of funny. I lived in the city, I was county mayor in Knoxville. And um um I'm a I'm an organic gardener.

I love doing it natural that way and um On a little farm, we don't put any chemicals out there either. But I I brought in some some goats, and I remembered I I didn't know anything about goats, Dad Gamma. I don't know. I'm a city boy. And I had them in my backyard there.

And I thought, man, they're going to eat everything. And they didn't eat anything. And I called the guy I got them from and said, Hey, what's the deal with these dadgum goats? They won't eat anything. And he said, Are you feeding them?

I said, Yeah, I give them two big old buckets of grain every day. He said, Well, stop feeding them. And I did. And you know what? They went to work.

They went to work and hunger. Hunger and fear are two greatest motivators, and those goats, they got hungry in a hurry.

Well, cool.

Well, thank you for being there today, Tim, and You know, you're all the w we're in West Tennessee, but you know, we see you, we hear you, and um. You know, you're having an impact in Tennessee.

So, thank you, Justin. You're very kind, and I really appreciate you saying that very much. Very much. Thank you, brother. Well, that was a good call.

If you all want to call in and talk and gripe at me or say something nice, um 901-260-5926. And that's, he brought up something a lot of times. Guys and gals, and they don't hear they just hear the bad things that we're doing because we hear that a lot. You can just pick up the Get on the internet if you want to get trashed, issue an opinion. But when you rarely hear from folks, and I would encourage you all, especially some of these younger audiences.

elected officials, state, federal, or local. If they're doing a good job, let them know it. Let them know it. Encourage them because that's. That's kind of we're missing the ball a little bit.

I think we. A lot of the People that attack us are paid attackers. You know, they're the bots or whatever. And uh they get paid every time they interact with somebody. And they they have these I've seen the the things where they have these um just rooms full of cellphones and they're connected.

to um um Twitter or X or Facebook or something else. And all they do is just trash people and they have these fake accounts and fake followers and it's It's um it's an interesting phenomena, but but you You hear that enough and you start, man, maybe I'm Maybe I am doing wrong. Maybe I do need to become a liberal. And that, I'm afraid, has some effect. But anyway, do we got any?

Tell me what's. I'm looking at my producer. We're going to a break. Going to a break. All right.

Well, I'm Congressman Tim Burchett, filling in for Todd Starnes. And we'll be right back. Alexa, why should I vote for Donald Trump? I cannot provide content that promotes a specific political party or a specific candidate. Alexa, why should I vote for Cottamala Harris?

While there are many reasons to vote for Kamala Harris, the most significant may be that she is a strong candidate with a proven track record of accomplishment. As the first female Vice President, Harris has already broken down a major gender barrier, and her career in politics has been characterized by a commitment to progressive ideals and a focus on helping disenfranchised communities. That of course was uh Yeah. our high tech industry, which they Came back and said that was done in error and that that would be corrected, but I think we all know what's up with that. The tech industry is Heavily Um Embedded In the far left, and that is Exactly.

what that was. Um it reminds me of a Saturday Night Live skit. My wife and I Love the replay. I don't I don't uh encourage people to watch Saturday Night Live, but it was it was dealing with that and uh um But Anyway, they They have um co-opted completely. everything.

If you don't think your young kids are being indoctrinated, you're wrong. Yeah. It happens and now it's it's infiltrated into everything and this is clearly an example of that. We had a couple callers, but they dropped. If y'all want to call back, 901-260-5926 is the.

is the number. I'm often asked what do I do in my spare time, if I have any. And I I don't have a lot, but one thing I do is I make skateboards out of bamboo. And I get asked about that a lot and people are always asking me to Make them one, and I we had one, and I was we were going to auction it off for my campaign, which is going on. but we were afraid it violated ethics.

So, um I think what we did was ask people to send in like a web address or something. And we found I made my last one out of a piece of wood I found on the side of the interstate. People ask me why I make skateboards, and I always tell them, Well, Dad Gummin, it's cheaper than a psychiatrist, and it really is. Bamboo is poor man's carbon fiber. It's pretty cool stuff.

Got a thousand species in this country. Only two are native, the rest are um invasive. We've got a huge problem with invasive species. In this country, we've got these carp that are coming up that are voracious eaters and they could really throw off our um Our ecosystem. I wrote a letter.

back when I was a state legislator to, um The chairman of a committee Uh and said that Do they not think that the Chinese could be using invasive species uh into our country Uh to offset our economy. They have a Yeah, we We're just trying to get through. I always say Americans want their pizzas in 30 minutes or less, and that's about our deadcom attention span. And I'm guilty of that as anybody else is. But do they not think that the Chinese could be.

Crafty enough to think long term like that because you look at all of our invasive species. They are of Asian descent, it seems. I mean kudzu, bamboo. Um These um Clams that are infiltrated that get into our water systems up in the Great Lakes, just on down the line, and they are. A nightmare.

I got off on that. I'm not sure I was getting off. I was actually going to talk about. One of the hot button issues and I get asked about it a lot is um is UFO's or UAPs? and I'm often asked.

About why I am involved in that, and that I didn't pick it, it picked me. I was. Walking outside the um the capital one day and uh A young man asked me, his name's Colin, and he was with TMZ. I don't know if you've seen that show or not on television. But they usually just come up and ask.

Um movie stars and stuff like that and peop prominent people. Off-the-wall questions. And they asked me about UFOs. And I said, Well, more people believe in. and UFO's than believe in Congress.

and that actually ended up putting that on a T shirt and selling it on my website. On my swag site, so to speak. It sold pretty well. And so I get started getting all these calls from people all over the country, now all over the world, about the issue. And I start to investigate it.

Followed it ever since I'd a little kid, and And The um It's really kind of fascinating. Our United States government spends tens of millions of dollars. People say, Birch, isn't there something more important that we could be dealing with?

Well, Again, I'm not talking about I'm not concerned about little green men or flying saucers, although that has a lot to do with it. What I'm worried about is what we're spending tens of millions of dollars on. And the federal government, usually it's some little ge some guy in a man bun. on an ego trip working for the Federal Government telling us that they don't exist. And then when you ask him about specific instances where we've had something's flown over a nuclear site and the and the facility shuts down or a Train pilot has video of something flying if you you would go on YouTube and look at the um Uh tick tick tac videos like the candy, not like tick tock, not like the the Chinese propaganda site.

but tic-tac and um and you can you can see and you can hear the the type the the federal government or excuse me the Pentagon said that those Tapes did not exist. And then A pilot said, in fact, no, they do exist. I'm the pilot that's talking on those, and we've had them in for testimony and we've talked to them and It's quite an interesting situation. But we are spending tens of millions on something, and these reports we get back are heavily redacted. And they cut out all but yet they tell us there's nothing there.

They expect us to believe that. and we go through these testimony. I'm not talking to a pilot. a couple of months ago, and I remember he held his hand up his right hand up and he turned it sideways. and he said, Tim, that thing was fourteen feet from my canopy.

He's he's a obviously a jet pilot and, um and he was that this craft, whatever it was, And then we have testimony, sworn testimony, of of some brave um Americans that served our country and our military. Said that sworn testimony, they said that. what they saw was nothing that we have in our arsenal, our friends, or our enemies have. And so that that leads me to one other conclusion. And um And yet the federal government continues to um To try to send us down different rabbit holes.

They'll send us people to speak that. Have no knowledge and tell us we don't know what we're talking about. And then when we talk about specifics, they um. They uh Um kind of run for cover. They don't know.

And it's a very compartmentalized line of thought. Except maybe TVA, I don't know, maybe they do, I don't know. But every agency has an investigative wing, if you will, that is that has covered that. And it's a um It's an interesting phenomenon. I would hope at some point.

I know it's so important that President Trump even asked him about it. He said that he would. In fact. Release those files if he's elected. And we are coming up on another break.

Y'all want to call in 901-260-5926. All right, let's see almond brothers, not almond like nut, almond. Greg Ohm. God rest his soul. And his brother.

Um Dad. in a tragic Harley Davidson wreck. Crossed a hill and went head on with a peach truck, and I believe their next album was. Uh eat a peach, I believe. Oddly enough, All right, everybody.

We're joined with a special guest. This is Congressman Tim Burchett. But I want you to ask yourself: who said this? It's not just Floridians, it's not just Textans. It's not just border states, it's all over the place.

He was talking about, of course, the Harris Border Crisis. Anyone, anyone? I'll tell you who it was. It was my dear friend, Representative Gregg Stewie. Stuby, you on with me, brother?

What's up, brother? How are you doing? I'm good. Is it hot down there in beautiful Florida? It is miserably hot.

It is 110 degrees with the heat index today. You cannot be outside from like, well, I'm outside. I got off a tractor for you, Tim Burchett. You are the man.

Well, I wish it was a little warmer in this dadgum studio. I swear I think they're going to start cutting hogs up here. It's like I can see my breath. I don't keep it so cold, I guess, to keep me awake because I. I just turned 60 two weeks ago and I I realize that you haven't given me a gift yet, but Gloria Vanderbilt said that it was permittable up into the next month.

And you've got the full month of September to come through, brother. And I know you. You're what you're You're planning something.

Well, my buddy Greg Stuby I don't have it in front of me, but I know he Served in the military. He got banged up, I believe, in Ranger school, didn't you? And then so you stayed in and went. The jag route. He's a very successful attorney.

He's a husband and he's a cool dad. He's got a cool kid. And he's also the pitcher on our baseball team. You oughta google him, hit a dadgum home run. which was killer.

I still I get chills when I watch that video. That was exciting. And because I always remember Joe Biden was sitting in our dugout when it happened. Yes, he was. And he turned to the crowd.

He thought they were cheering him, and he did not realize it was because you just hit a home run. out of the park at Nat Stadium. Brother, it's good to have you on. Let me get into this so we won't run out of time. I I know we're we're rushing into this thing coming up, and we'll they're going to try to pass a a CR and they will attach the Save Act onto that.

Um What are your thoughts on that, Greg? I'm curious.

Well, first of all, we've we, the House have already voted on the SAVE Act. It's going to go to the Senate, which it has, and it's going to die because Chuck Schumer doesn't want a law prohibiting illegal immigrants from voting in our country.

So simply by putting the Save Act on a CR, which is Extending, I mean, we've been doing CRs ever since you and I have got elected to Congress. And this current CR would extend. Funding levels that Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer put in place. two years ago when they were still in charge of the House and the Senate. And we have put, just in the time that you and I have been in Congress, we've put $12, $13 trillion on the debt.

We're at $36 trillion in debt. We are running a 1.5 to 3.5 depends on what year and part of the year you look at deficit. Trillion dollar deficits, so trillion-dollar deficits every single year, and we're just gonna put this little shiny object on a CR, which none of us conservatives would never vote for by itself. Uh in the hopes, I'm guessing that Chuck Schumer will then Then I guess decide to take it up, but we know he's not going to do that. No way.

No way he'll bring it up. Rip the Save Act off. And send it back. We've already voted on it. I mean, if if the Senate was going to move on it, they would have moved on it already.

They're not going to because Chuck Schumer wants illegals to vote in this country. That's why we have 12 million that have been let into our country since Joe Biden's been president to completely change the electorate. And there's some states That just uh all you need is a driver's license register to vote in some states you you don't have to be a citizen of the country to get a driver's license So you have, I mean, I've seen article after article after article of confirmed cases. Texas just purged like 6,500 illegals. off their voter rolls.

And in some of our races, It could be twenty votes. Mary Miller won by Mary Miller Meeks won by six votes. I mean, it could it could sway the outcome of elections. And we should do everything that we can to ensure that only citizens vote. But Chuck Schumer's not going to take this bill.

He's not going to take it if you attach it to the CR. No, he's not. If I had a bell in here, I'd be ringing it right now. And I thank you so much for saying that. I was hoping that's what you would say.

You know, there's money in this thing for Planned Parenthood, for all these. Whacked out. stuff in there that we don't none of the the woke policies that we all have talked about and then The very thing we're forced we think we're going to force the Democrats to do to vote against the SAVE Act. And it is the very thing they're forcing us to do, as conservatives, to vote against, to vote for bad policies. Put in place again.

I with you. We've got to have better strategy on this than that. I just. Let's let's if we're gonna negotiate anything. Let's let's try to negotiate some of the fat out of that CR.

And before we send it over there, I still think Well, you know, 30 years we haven't passed a budget. You were in the state legislature in Florida. You had a budget. You're probably constitutionally required to have one. We were in Tennessee.

We passed one when I was the. Mayor of Knox County. eight times. and in eight years. And you know, it just it's just continuation Yeah.

of bad policy. And we tell America we're going to fight this stuff, Dadgum, let's fight it. Let's fight that stuff. The Save Act, we've already seen that. That's why Republicans are frustrated when we have the House and we don't do anything about it.

We've continued COVID-era and Pelosi era spending levels. The conservatives vote no. The moderates in our party vote yes, along with all the Democrats. And the taxpayer dollars to abortions continues. The just ridiculous funding to all these foreign nations that hate us continues.

It all just Keeps going, and all the while we're $36 trillion in debt. Yeah, don't you think, though? If we had Trump in office, that some of those moderates and um squishes or left leaning Republicans. They would they would have to I think they're They're just fluid. All they're looking at is getting re-elected.

And if we had a strong leader that could articulate. Our principles I think that they would fall in line. And I think that's why it's so important, this presidential race. But again, I saw where um I saw Thomas Massey said he's gonna quit. Um Congressman, he's going to start condemning their voters because they're the ones that keep sending these people to Washington.

You know, they go home. I don't know how it is in Florida. But I know how it is in Tennessee. You know, you go home, you speak to a Reagan Day dinner or a Lincoln Day, or now the MIGA dinners, or whatever. You throw out the red meat, and then you end up getting re-elected.

And they come back down there, and then they compromise and vote for this. Ridiculous stuff because they're getting their little special project out of it. And then the process never ends. And here we are, $36 trillion in debt. Every second we spend $76,000.

It's just it's just beyond belief. And I I would hope at some point Um We straighten out. You mentioned something else. You mentioned the illegals voting, of course, and the RNC. Through the SAVE Act, the RNC is suing North Carolina over non-citizen voting concerns.

As an attorney, How d how do you think that would go down?

Well, the RNC should have been doing this. We had some change in leadership a few months ago, and I think the direction we're going now is much better than the direction we were. And to be active on this front, look, we're not going to Republicans aren't going to win elections with illegal immigrants voting, and you have states that are allowing it to happen.

So we absolutely should be suing on this. When New York did it, New York City did it, it went to the Supreme Court, they said that it's it's impermissible, you know, having you know, uh it's common sense for you and I and common sense for everybody listening, but it takes a US Supreme Court decision to say that legals can't vote in our elections, so absolutely they need to do this. these type of things in states that are allowing for illegals to vote or states that Have procedures in place that illegals could vote, like states that allow just a driver's license to register to vote. In Florida, you gotta be a citizen, you gotta show proof of citizenship. You got to show like your Social Security number and your date, all of these things to validate where you are.

We have absentee ballots, but they're barcoded and signature required.

So there's all these precautions in place to ensure that illegals can't vote in Florida's elections.

So some of these states that aren't, the RNC should be getting involved, and thankfully they are, to rectify this, because we won't win races. If illegals are voting, which is why the Democrats let 12 million of them into our country. Absolutely, at least 12 billion that we know of. Um I Yeah, I I couldn't agree with you more on that. Our prior leadership, I had this conversation with them.

I talked about You know, the voter harvesting, which is legal. We don't do it in Tennessee, but they do it in other areas. In areas that are, you know, where we need some real help in. And I said, are we going to get this in place? Because it's legal.

And we need to get, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, you know, pat me on the head, the usual stuff. And we go on the same route. These lawsuits, they wait until the last adgum minute. and they push us up against the wall. They better have this stuff in place and um Yeah.

There's enough time to get it through because North Carolina. Is one of those states that we got to have, or we will lose this election and ultimately lose our country. Um Right now, it seems like more Americans are having to choose between food and energy bills. Uh You know, I see folks that I've said they've paid $600 more a month.

Some people claim they do that a week. and groceries and just stuff to survive, gasoline and everything. How are you seeing that impact Florida? The economy, I think, is the number one issue, and it will be the number one issue in November. The inflation was all created by Biden's policies and Democrats' policies, dumping trillions of dollars on the economy and causing an inflationary atmosphere.

On top of that, all the things they've done to restrict the domestic production of oil and gas. Has raised the prices of products because it's raised the prices of diesel and fuel.

So it takes a lot more money to get from a truck from one point to the other to the grocery store.

So you've seen it all across. In Florida, it's it's really bad. The the level of housing, it's almost out of reach for people. They they can't afford to live. I have people that work for me that are saying that it's too expensive to live in Sarasota.

So you've seen this inflationary economy that the Biden administration created Is it is the number one issue going into this election. And legal immigrants don't care about that because they're breaking the law by being here and gonna vote for the people that let them in. But American citizens need to rise up. Those people that don't typically vote, I've been telling business owners, I can guarantee you you got a guy working on building roofs. That doesn't vote.

I can guarantee you you got a guy driving trucks that doesn't vote. You need to tell those people that the future of America and their ability to have a job is in jeopardy if they don't vote this election cycle because Trump's Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will expire next year. And if Joe Biden or Kamala Harris is president and we have a Democratic House in the Senate, it isn't going to get reauthorized. That's a 20% increase in taxes for small businesses. Do you add that on top of the inflationary environment that we're in?

And it's a recipe for economic disaster. It is. And of course, with the illegals here, um taking up housing, you know, they'll put Twelve in a house. Fit for three or four. And it's taking that stuff off the market.

Well, Greg, buddy, it's been a pleasure. How's Texas going to how's Texas? How's I was reading your quote? How's Florida going to do? in these elections.

Florida's great, which is why President Trump's spending his time in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin and Michigan like he should be. He'll win Florida by ten points. I think Rick Scott wins by ten or twelve points. for the first time in the history of Florida, we have more registered Republicans in the state than Democrats by a million, and that disparity keeps increasing. You've seen an influx of conservatives across the country, and it's hurting us in Midwest states.

You know, the Michiganders that were sick and tired of the COVID lockdowns that moved to Florida because of it, we don't have their votes up there anymore. But Florida's A conservative state now. I think it's solidly in the red column. I think you'll see Trump and Rick Scott win by 10 or 12 points. In Tennessee, if you speak with a northern accent, you're probably more conservative than I am.

I mean, they've had it, man. And I wish they could have stayed and fight, but I understand them wanting to leave.

Well, Greg, it's been a pleasure, brother. I look forward to seeing you next week. I don't look forward to be back in D.C., but we'll. We'll continue this conversation and thank you so much for coming on with me, brother. It's been a Pleasure having you on, and thank you for being my friend.

All right, talk to you soon. All right, brother. That's uh Representative Greg Stuby out of uh out of Florida. He is a He's a patriot and he's a believer and he's a He's been a great friend to me and he's a great friend of this country. Um See here, how much time have we got left for the break?

Oh, we got a break. Man, I'm running. I'm just doing this just like I planned, and I still have no pizza in here. All right. Is Tim Burchett stepping in for the vacationing Todd Starns?

And we'll be right back. Hey everybody, John Tim Burchett. We better do the brothers. Um I'm getting ready to close out here at the Todd Starn show. It's been a pleasure being with you all.

I want to talk a little bit about some stuff that's going on. What we need to be doing. As Conservatives, the um I see a lot of the flags out, the Trump flags and don't tread on me and stuff and I We knock on doors, that's how I don't. I don't I don't come for money. And so I Um That's how I get my word out.

I knock on registered voters' doors. And it's uh It's tough and it's brutal and it's hot. And I'm 60 years old, and Dad Gumminet wears me out. And I wear my new balance. And my daughter said, Dad, In those shoes, you look like an old white man.

I said, Well, honey, I am an old white man, so I should be wearing my new balances. But they're made in America, so that's pretty cool. But when we knock on doors. I see a lot of the Trump flags and Things out and the patriotic stuff. And I look on my list.

You know what, that government, those folks aren't on my list to even have ever voted.

Now that tells me one thing, either first-time voters or, when I talk to a lot of em, I'll pull up next to somebody at a stoplight and they'll have a flag hanging off the back of their truck or something. I say, Hey man, and they'll talk, and they'll know, you know, oh, Congressman, hey, and I'll say, where do you vote? They don't know where they vote. And that I've come to find out a lot of these folks, Dad Government, don't even vote. And they they get out, they're angry.

But folks, you gotta get registered to vote. It's the easiest thing in the world to do. You can do it on your computer. It's um if you don't know how to do it. It's your fourteen-year-old.

daughter or granddaughter or whoever. to get to get you registered. And it it doesn't That there's a myth. It used to be, it's not that way anymore. You don't get put on jury duty because of it.

Um that's they use another they use, um, ta property tax rolls, I believe, for that. And at least in Tennessee.

So there's no No other There's no excuse not to vote. And we're going to sit here. And we're going to wake up the day after the election, we'll have lost our country. The plans they have for this country are incredible, and it will. It will demoralize us, it will destabilize our financial situation.

And uh And and just decrease our ability to defend ourselves in the world. There's a reason there's fourteen million that we know of illegals in this country that we don't know where they are. There's a reason there's over a hundred thousand Communist Chinese that have come over our southern border. There's a raison there's There is Several. Maybe We don't know exactly how many people on a terrorist watch list.

that have been allowed to come into our country, and we don't know where they are right now. If you're not paying attention. We're going to lose our country. And there couldn't be any other Better excuse to get out and vote on Election Day. In Africa when they um did away with apartheid and they They brought back some resemblance of of democracy.

They um these these Africans would walk across you know the desert or whatever. the um the jungle, the the cities. Everywhere, and they had so many different languages and dialect. How much time? 30 seconds, and they would just line up in front of a sign, a picture of the person.

that they were voting for. And they had something like 96%. People with those We have around 13 to 15% of this country. Too many people have given everything the right. Move this great option.

Please get out and vote. I'm Congressman Tim Burchett.
