That's us. That's right. I love this American ride. Todd Starnes. Oh, yeah.
Happy Friday, everybody. How are you? No, I'm not Todd Starnes. That man lies. I'm Mary Walter sitting in for Todd.
Todd feels in a little under the weather today. It's going to take some time to get rid of whatever it is he thinks he's got.
So hopefully he will be back on Monday. Healthier and better than ever. Coming up next hour, we're going to be joined by OutKick's Bobby Barak. And his latest article on OutKick is about the fall of woke. And it's a super interesting look at the rise of the woke movement, where it is now and the influence that it's had on our society and where that seems to be going and why.
It's a really, really fascinating article.
So he'll be joining us next hour. And then the last hour of the show, Rita Cosby will be joining us for the Rita Cosby Show. Also, it airs here on KWAM, but she is officially on WABC in New York. And in the interest of full disclosure, Rita is a good friend. I love Rita.
So she and I, because I'm like, what are we going to talk about? And I was talking to Grace, and she's like, well, you know, news of the day, that type of stuff. I said, well, you know, Rita and I can talk to each other for the whole hour. Just go from topic to topic to this to that and literally talk about nothing at the same time.
So we'll talk to her about where the case is against Trump in New York. Also, the case with the documents. You're hearing rumblings about that and in Georgia as well. There's a lot of things to talk to Rita about with news of the day.
So, you know I love your calls. You know you are always welcome to join me. 844-747-8868 844-747-8868 always welcome you I just want to start out with news of the day and by the way you can follow me on Twitter at Mary Walter Radio during the break I'll pull up Twitter if you have any comments there I'll read those as well so I want to start off with some news here oh wait a minute hold on hang on we got some calls they're texting me the call so I'm trying to just okay Jerry and Oakridge hang on two seconds okay and I will get to you because I just have one piece of big news that I want to get to first and then I will go to Jerry so just hang on there Jerry I woke up to this news and this is interesting because if you put it in context of everything that's happening Russia and China joining forces that was something we never wanted the rest of the world is looking at the picture of Xi and Putin like hanging out together They're shaking hands, buddy, buddy. We're going to be the new world order. And the rest of the world is like, what the heck is going on?
And America's like, do-do-do-do-do, TikTok, do-do-do-do-do-do, orange man bat. We're not paying attention to anything. And we should be paying attention to it because you look at the drone flying over the United States, TikTok collecting everyone's information, Russia getting now getting their oil, their needs from China. China's going to sell Russia oil. And what are we doing?
China holds our debt, too, by the way.
So we're beholden to them. This is not a good thing.
So we woke up this morning to find out that our military carried out several drone airstrikes in Syria yesterday, reportedly killing eight Iranians.
Now, this was in retaliation for a drone strike that Iranian forces conducted earlier in the day on a coalition base that killed one American.
Now, it was a UAV crashed into, I think that's an unoccupied whatever vehicle, but they say it's a drone. All right. Because these drones are huge. Did you see that? Like when I think of drone, I don't know about you, I think of drone.
I think of that little thing that like all the kids have, my husband, because he's a child, has, you know, and it flies up with the little three whirlers on it. And you put the batteries in. And that's what I think of. These things are huge. They're big.
The one that Russia took down of ours was something, what was it, $40 million for the cost of that thing?
So the Defense Department said that Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps crashed one of these drones into a building in northeast Syria at about 1.30 local time, and it left a U.S. contractor dead. And five U.S. service members and another U.S. contractor were wounded.
It was at an arms depot, and that left six Iranian-backed fighters dead.
Now, there was a second bombing at a post that killed another two Iranian fighters.
Now, there's a group called the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. It's a war monitoring group. Would you want that job? I thought about that as I'm reading this, and I'm like, who wants that job? Yeah, you could be the war monitor.
I don't think I'm going to do that. They reported that there was another American strike on a military post near the border with Iraq, but that report has not been independently verified.
Now, I'm a big fan of the Trump way of doing things where, okay, if you're going to kill our people with things like this, we're going to kill twice as many of yours. That's kind of my philosophy in life. I don't launch the first strike. I don't. but if you launch a strike at me I'm going to return it twice as hard the old arm for a finger retribution because then people don't do it again and they see what you did to the person who came after you and they're like, oh, maybe I'm going to think twice before I come after them and that's pretty much the Trump policy of foreign relations and it worked, it worked Russia didn't invade Ukraine under Trump he did under Obama, he did under Bush but not under Trump and he did under Biden.
That says something.
So this is a big deal when you think about it, that you now have the Islamic Revolutionary Guards operating in Syria targeting Americans. They're emboldened. And it's almost like this new axis of evil rising where you've got China and Russia joining forces. I think that emboldens Iran, right? and Syria hosting Iran.
They're up to no good. If all of these countries join forces, North Korea, I don't know what they're bringing to the table that much, though. Do you remember the parade in North Korea where they figured out that some of the tanks and some of the stuff they were parading behind them was just cardboard? Because it was folding in the wind.
So I don't know what they're bringing to the table. But it's a big deal. The U.S. intelligence assessed that the drone that crashed into the coalition base was of Iranian origin, so Biden authorized the military to retaliate. We have about 900 troops stationed in Syria.
I'm surprised Biden retaliated. Are you? I am. I didn't think Biden had it in him. Maybe Biden didn't make the call.
I don't know how many decisions Biden is actually making.
So I don't know if he actually made that call. but I thought it was very interesting that we did to wake up to that news I thought was, huh, okay this is important and this is something we should all be concerned about okay, let us go to Jerry in Oak Ridge Jerry, you are on the Todd Starr Show happy Friday, how you doing? Hi, thanks for taking my call first time I've talked to you, I remember your show with Vince on another network, on another show anyhow Yeah, budget cuts got me, you know. Yeah. Anyway, I was hoping to take a minute, maybe 90 seconds, and address, it's Open Mind Friday, I think, all the people that are just outright attacking Ron DeStantis the past couple of days.
And I saw an interview last night on Newsmax where the host had interviewed Ron DeStantis, and then they brought in a couple of people to respond to Ron's interview. And one of the people was Seb Gorka. And I'm just on fire after what Seb Gorka said. Seb was all ripped up about DeSantis being silent for two whole days after the Trump announcement that he was going to be arrested. And then he was mad about, Seb was mad about Ron DeSantis using the term hush money for a porn star.
And he was upset because he uttered those words. and thinking, that's what the case is about. Hush money to a porn star. But what really got to me was when, and this is a quote, Ron DeSantis looked into a camera, pointed his finger and said, you're a former JAG, Ron, meaning Judge Ethica General. Rule of law should matter to you.
And I thought, I just went back for the past year. I'd just like to remind everybody that in April of 2022, Ron DeSantis signed a bill banning CRT from Florida schools from kindergarten to 12th grade.
So in August of 2022, he formed the Election Crimes and Security Office, which hasn't been very successful, but he's looking into voter fraud. Also in August of 22, Ron DeSantis fired that Soros prosecutor Andrew Warren for not doing his job. I wonder how many people remember that in September of 22, Ron DeSantis said that was one. We can go through all of Ron DeSantis' accomplishments, which I think there are many. But just very quickly in Seb's defense, and I'm not going to speak for him, but I had this conversation.
I was on another station and we had this conversation. And I think people are fed up with Republicans moving so slowly for everything. Democrats would have been out in force immediately discussing, you know, the imminent arrest of one of their own, right or wrong.
Now, Ron did take a swipe at Trump, but Trump takes swipes at Ron all the time.
So it's fair in that regard. No, it's not. Trump started when he put out that tweet suggesting that Ron DeSantis might be a pedophile. I just said it was fair for Ron DeSantis to take the swipe at Trump. We're agreeing.
I'm sorry, I misunderstood. We're agreeing here. I think it was fair. My point, my only problem with what went down between Don and Ron is that I just don't think that was the time for Ron to take the swipe. I think Republicans needed to get in mass behind Trump because this is an unlawful prosecution.
And that's why I think Seb doesn't like the term, oh, well, sex with a porn star. Because Stormy Daniels came out in 2018 and said they didn't have sex, that there was not an affair. That's in writing from her. It was quoted in USA Today.
So she came out and said that, number one. And Trump has denied it the whole time. Democrats stand behind their own. And if Fetterman says he's healthy, well, then Fetterman has a date on Jeopardy next week, as far as the Democrats are concerned. Republicans need to do that.
There's a time and a place. When they're campaigning, they can go after each other. That's fine. But I didn't think that was the time or the place for Ron to make that swipe, because, quote-unquote, hush money is not illegal. Congress has an entire fund set aside for congressmen and women who are accused of sexual advances or improprieties to pay off to make deals for these people to go away.
So if it's legal for Congress, it should be legal for the rest of us.
So I'm not speaking for Seb, but I'm very annoyed at the Republicans for shooting inside the tent whenever they can.
well that might that might be the case and yes you're right they shouldn't be you know they shouldn't do the reagan rule of not killing your own but that should apply to donald trump too agree from started this with with ronda stentimonious and with his his uh despicable tweet that ronda stentis could be a pedophile and people like sub gorka and whoopi goldberg and dr gina and bill o'reilly have all taken around ronda stentis for not backing up a man who called his potential pedophile. I think that's potentially wrong. Listen, I agree with you. We don't have a lot of time to litigate this. I take every call as long as I've taken yours.
This show's going to be just two phone calls. But thank you very much. I do appreciate you. I did not know about Open Phone Friday, so now I know.
So that's good to know.
So thank you very much. I think sometimes Trump is his own worst enemy.
However, during the campaign, this is what campaigning is. Kamala Harris stood up there on the debate stage and let us all see what a racist Joe Biden is. That's part of the game when you're a candidate. Ron has not declared. But he's running.
He's making the rounds.
So Trump's treating him like a candidate. I don't like it. But if you don't like it, then you don't get in the game. Time and place. All right.

Coming up later in the show, I do have a couple of non-political topics that we could talk about. Because it's Friday, right? Yeah, let's unwind a little bit. 844-747-8868. It is Open Film Friday, which I have to tell you, I find very fun.
So please don't make it not fun for me. I would appreciate that. A little programming note just quickly here, and then I will get to Victor from Maryland. Actually, you know what? I'm going to get to Victor first, because I want to give him time.
I don't want to take time away from you. I want to give Victor some time here, and then I'll tell you what I was going to tell you. Victor from Maryland. Hey, Victor, you are on the Todd Starnes Show. Hi.
Hi. It's good to hear you again. I got some sad news. The Tasty Diners closed permanently in Silver Spring. The owner just didn't want to do it anymore.
And they did it without telling the employees and everything. I mean, it was just a sudden thing.
So I'm going to miss that restaurant. Anyhow, what I really wanted to talk about was I was listening to a Boston station this morning, the bulldozer of Boston, Jeff Cooner, and he read a letter off Trump's Truth Social. and it's a letter from Stormy Daniels dated January 30th, 2018. And she says, I never, ever had an affair with Donald Trump, but she took the money anyway. And you've got to remember, if you're famous or something like that, in order to keep people quiet, you have to pay them hush money.
Not only for things like that, but also like if you own a restaurant and someone falls in your restaurant and they're going to sue you.
So you say to them, okay, instead of going to court and litigating this and spending tens of thousands of dollars, all this money to litigate this, how much will it take for you to walk away? To make you whole because you fell in my restaurant, you have pain and suffering and a bad back and this and that and everything else.
Now, instead of litigating it, a lot of people will pay them. It happens in a lot of businesses. There's a lot, for instance, doctors. There's a lot of people who are suing, because you can sue for any reason, who sue, and the insurance company just won't pay it. They're like, we're not going to spend the money to go to court.
We're settling out of court. And that's it. And so they settle, and now it looks like the doctor was sued and made out a payment. But the reason they made out the payment was because it's just cheaper for the insurance company to make it go away. Exactly.
And also the same talk show host Jeff Cooner was talking about there's a woman who's now come out and said that Biden raped her while he was a congressman. Tara Reid. I can't remember the woman's name. Her name is Tara Reid. And that came out before the election.
But she was hushed. Nobody paid any attention to it. The media just, you know, silenced her. And the Democrats would not. She wanted to speak in front of Congress.
Democrats wouldn't let her do it. and so she never got to tell her story, but she apparently now is speaking with one of the Republican committees. Yeah, so I think the worm is starting to turn now. It's nice hearing your voice again. Thank you.
Good to talk to you. You are missing the D.C. area.
Well, it's good to talk to you, and I miss getting to hear from you, and I'm sorry about the diner. I know that was a favorite of yours. Victor, have a fantastic weekend. Thank you so much for joining me. Appreciate you.

In for Todd Starnes. Todd, back with you on Monday. It's a little under the weather. 844-747-8868 is my number. 844-747-8868.
That is my number. And it is Open Phone Friday, so you are welcome to call in, and we'll do our best to get your comments on the air. No promises, though. Just because it's Open Phone Friday doesn't mean you can call in just about literally anything. That's just pretty much not how that works, but we do our best.
I want to talk to you about a couple of trials that are happening. Not the big ones in New York, not the big Alvin Bragg trial, But some other ones that are happening right now that are getting zero attention in the media, and I thought they were important.
So I want to share them with you, and you are free to comment on them if you like. And the first one is about one of the Proud Boys. They're on trial in D.C. over January 6th.
Now, one of the guys is named Zachary Real. There's also Ethan Nording, Joseph Biggs, Enrique Tarrio, and Dominic Pizzola, all Proud Boys, all working their way through the court system.
Now, of course, they've all been in pretrial. I think all of them have been in pretrial detention because they're so dangerous to society that they have been in jail for, what, the last three years? In pretrial detention. and their lives ruined without a trial, which I think is horrible. And if you go on Twitter, it's amazing how many people in this country go, well, they should have thought about that before they broke into the Capitol and tried to hang Mike Pence, and they should have thought.
I'm like, okay. But yet any people in the summer of love had their charges dropped, assaulting officers, all sorts of things, businesses ruined, lives ruined, people assaulted, and they walked. All right, that aside, here we're finding out that on Thursday, there was a, yeah, yesterday, okay, so there was an emergency motion from the defense in the council of one of the Proud Boys named Zachary Real. their court case states that the government waited until Wednesday, March 22nd, to tell the court and the defense that one of the defense's witnesses has been a confidential human source, in other words, a spy, since April 2021 through at least January 2023, or since the beginning of the case through the start of the trial. and the defense didn't know it, that this person is a confidential human source.
So it could have been a friend of Zachary Real that the FBI flipped, but he is a confidential human source.
So basically telling them what's happening on the defense's side. This is your government. March 22nd, Wednesday, was the day before the confidential human source. I'm just going to call him a spy for now. or CHS, how's that, was scheduled to testify for the defense.
So this person was supposed to testify yesterday. Julie Kelly, great reporter. I'm sure you've heard from her. She is on Twitter, and I highly recommend you follow her. Julie underscore line Kelly and the number two.
So Julie underscore Kelly number two. And she follows this stuff amazingly. She wrote, prosecutors knew back in December that the defense planned to call this person as a witness and the individual continued to work as an informant spying on the defense during trial prep.
So knew what they were going to say, knew what the case was, knew what the defense was that they were going to present and relaying that to the prosecution. I'm not a lawyer, but I watch a lot of Judge Judy. I'm pretty sure that you're not allowed to do that. I'm pretty sure that's kind of a no-no, right? Especially if it's the government doing it.
And they didn't tell anybody until the day before they're going to call this person. And this is their defense. This is their case. And they're finding out the day before, even though they held this information for months and months and months. The Proud Boys public defender named Carmen Hernandez filed an emergency motion requiring the government to disclose to the defense all reports and recordings.
relating to individuals who may have been FBI informants. The four other Proud Boy defendants joined in the request. This guy has been denied bail for two years since he was arrested by the judge, Tim Kelly, despite being a nonviolent participant in the January 6th protest. He wasn't even violent, but yet he had to sit in jail since his arrest two years. Life ruined, job, home, relations, everything gone.
The judge ordered a response from the attorney's office by 9 a.m. Thursday, but by 1.45, the judge reported that the attorney's office failed to make any records related to the CHS public. And he stated there's a missing document in the numerical list on the docket. And the DOJ said, well, that's under seal.
So we can't show you that document. And this is what the government does. They say, oh, yeah, well, we can't show you that's classified. We can't show you that information. Nope, nope, you can't have that information.
And then when it's pushed and it becomes declassified, we find out that it really wasn't anything confidential at all because they're lying. Not all the time, but they lie a lot. Court papers revealed that the spy, the confidential human source, has been in contact with the defense counsel and at least one defendant. and the documents show that the CHS has communicated through a variety of channels with the defense and the defendant and also participated in prayer meetings with one or more of the defendant's family so getting very close to them maybe is close to them who knows maybe have been a lifelong friend but now reporting back to the FBI the confidential human source also allegedly discussed replacing one of the defense attorneys with one of the defendant's family members why would you do that? the government, it seems, has been selective with the defense about the disclosure of the confidential human sources, clearly.
Some were fully disclosed earlier, and others were somehow conveniently undisclosed until now.
Now, also, March 8th, a woman named Nicole Miller, she's one of the lead FBI investigators assigned to the Proud Boys case, was questioned by one of the defense attorneys. and she, we find out, she allegedly exchanged emails with another agent proving that the FBI monitored privileged communications between one defendant and his attorney in 2021.
So the government's not, I thought you had attorney-client privilege, which we're seeing rapidly, just torn to shreds in this country. Trump's lawyer has been ordered to testify against him in another case. I think it's the documents case. I'm not sure. Maybe it's not the documents case, but one of the cases.
The lawyer's been ordered to testify against his client. Because it's Trump. It's the Proud Boys. It's January 6th.
So the government is monitoring communications between a defendant and his attorney. I just think this is outrageous. And I am absolutely shocked that it is not front page news and people aren't screaming about this. But here's the thing. the jurors never heard any of this because the judge abruptly dismissed the jury during this testimony once this came out.
And he said he wanted to press pause in the trial and was supposed to start on March 9th resume but it never did Instead the judge heard both sides without the jury present He held a hearing without the jury to determine how to proceed after the defense team uncovered messages that indicated that FBI agents doctored internal reports, they destroyed evidence, and tipped off prosecutors about the defense strategy. Because this is one of the highest-profile January 6th cases. they can't lose this. And they just didn't think they were going to get caught. This agent, Nicole Miller, had prepared a spreadsheet of what they call Jenks Material Internal Messages on their internal messaging system.
And she presented this. And she put a spreadsheet together. According to the judge, the judge, roughly 12,000 rows of messages were hidden behind a tab. And the defense found it. One of the messages was allegedly from a confidential human source to Nicole Miller, asking her to go back into the report and edit out that I was even there, edit out that I was present.
She did it. That's evidence that they're just altering. the judge also reported that another agent told Miller excuse me this is Julie Kelly reported another agent told Nicole Miller an FBI supervisor instructed the unidentified agent to destroy 338 items of evidence and Nicole Miller reacted with the words OMG insane in big capital letters ordered to destroy 338 items of evidence that could have been exculpatory evidence to clear these guys of what they're being charged with. But it was ordered destroyed. You'd think at that point, this is done.
This should be kicked out of court. But the government, the prosecutors, insisted that the disposal of evidence was routine and it was related to a 20-year-old case that had been closed.
So why did Nicole Miller then, if it's a 20-year-old case that's been closed, why would she respond with OMG insane? If it's routine in this 20-year-old case, why did that matter to her? That doesn't make any sense. The defense also found discussions between her and another agent discussing emails between the guy who's currently on trial and his former attorney.
So they knew what they were talking about. This is crazy town.
Now, the prosecution is saying that the defendant waived any privilege to keep his attorney-client, he waived that away, his attorney-client privilege, because he was using the detention center's monitored email system to communicate with his attorney. But if you use the phone, they can't listen, but the email they can. I think that's a bunch of hogwash. And I think it's absolutely insane and crazy. 844-747-8868.
These are, look at, I bring this up because I really think that people are asleep right now and open your eyes to what's happening. Look what they're doing to Donald Trump. Look what's happening in New York with Alvin Bragg, right? Statue of limitations doesn't matter. The FEC, the Federal Elections Commission, said this is no case.
That doesn't matter. The rules and the rights are stripped away when it is Donald Trump or someone who supports him. And that's political persecution. That's a political weaponization of the judicial system. And if you look at the judges, that have been parading in front of Congress, that are being put up by the Biden administration to get lifelong appointments who will be sitting in judgment of maybe you one day are all ideologues and know nothing about the law.
Nothing about the law. They don't need to know anything about the law because they're ideologues. They just rule however they feel. It's okay. They know nothing about the law.
It's frightening. One of the questions, the Brady case, they asked that guy just a couple days ago it was John Kennedy from Louisiana who I adore was asking about it I'm like I know this one I know this this guy is a judge and he's been a sitting judge for four years and didn't know 844-747-8868 more coming up on the Todd Starn Show Find the top brands, inspiration and great value you need to own your style now at Macy's VIP Sale use your coupon or Macy's card and take an extra 30% off spring trends and updates. I just want to start the ball rolling on this first. We'll start talking about TikTok. I want to get the ball rolling on this. I'm curious, do your kids use TikTok? Do you use TikTok?
And how do you feel about it? I am not on TikTok. I chose not to get on TikTok or Instagram just because I knew about the Chinese ownership. I knew about the Chinese, you know, getting all your personal information. And I'm pretty sure the entire country of India has all of my personal information.
So I really just don't want to add another country to that.
So I chose not to get on TikTok or Instagram. And everybody's like, oh, you got to get on there. You know, you got to post all your podcasts there. You got to. It's like, I don't know.
I don't think this is going to end well. I just so I just never did it. And I'm really glad that I didn't do it. And I do you do you even agree that it is a threat to our kids? I'm not on it.
But my I have, you know, nieces and nephews who are on it. And luckily, they all have their their heads screwed on. Right.
So they're OK. But I do think that, you know, obviously, having been a kid, kids are really easily influenced. And I think there are some things on TikTok that are dangerous. When you have both Democrats and Republicans really going hard at TikTok CEO Zhu Zichu and asking him a lot of hard-hitting questions, I think it's pretty telling the danger of TikTok. I think so.
So I'm just going to throw that out there. We'll come back to it. I want to get your calls on it. 844-747-8868. 844-747-8868.
And like I said, I will get to your call, the open line Friday calls as well. I promise. I just wanted to get that stuff out about that jury trial because I thought it was so important.
So I will get to you next coming up on the Todd Starnes Show. Oh, wait. What? Am I? Oh, am I a break early?
I thought I had another break.
Okay. No, I don't. Oh, all right. Look at that. See, this is what happens when you get your coffee late in the day.
Or your first drink of the day early. No, I'm kidding. Let's go to Jerry in Memphis. Jerry, you win. You're on the Todd Stern Show.
Hi. She has no facts. Who's she? You're on the air. Are you talking about me?
Yeah. Who are you? I don't know your name. It's Mary. Mary.
This is Jerry. And this is going to be I've called periodically. This will be my last call because I've given up. I just want all your listeners out there who have never heard about the Dominion voting machine lawsuit against Fox News. One point six billion dollars.
It's going to be settled in either that or in trial in a week. And it's been proven that the Republicans continue, not the Republicans, I don't want to cast out the election deniers, that Dominion changed thousands of votes. And Fox News has perpetuated that despite the fact that Dominion has notified them. Right.
Okay, I get what you're saying. You're saying that despite Fox News perpetuate, in your eyes, Fox News perpetuated a lie. And so did their cohorts who believe that there were irregularities in voting in Arizona, for instance, and Georgia and other places. And so Dominion is suing Fox. We all know that, and Fox is probably going to settle out of court because it's probably cheaper.
And so they're going to settle out of court, so I'm not quite sure where you're going with this. Where I'm going is that, to my knowledge, I've never heard that mentioned, what you just said, the information on the air. And I don't think your listeners know about it. And what's going on is you're trying to ruin the country by dividing it. And with baloney, that rant I just heard you make, it's all kinds of mistakes.
Okay, well, Jerry, goodbye. Goodbye. I'm not quite sure where you're going. He was supposed to talk about state media, and I thought he was talking about, like, mainstream media. I don't know where he's going with that.
Everything that I said there, he said, well, I've never heard someone say that before, and then tells me that it's wrong. I literally, whatever, okay. It's Friday. All right, going to talk a little bit more about TikTok when we come back. Do you use it?
Do your kids use it? And did any of you watch the hearings? What do you think about TikTok and whether do you think it is dangerous? They're vowing more safety on TikTok. I wonder what your experience is like on that platform.
I'm Mary Walter and you're listening to The Todd Starn Show. The End Get a bag of Scott's Triple Action today. It's guaranteed, or your money back. Feed your lawn. Feed it.
Live from the Liberty University studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's common sense conservative commentary from Todd Starnes. That's us. That's right. I love this American ride. I'm Mary Walter sitting in the Liberty University studios.
Todd is under the weather today, but he'll be back with you on Monday. It is Open Phone Friday. You want to jump in here within reason. And Jerry, I love you. That was gold.
That was fantastic. Thank you. That's the beauty of Open Phone Friday. I'll take your calls at 844-747-8868. But I said it's Friday, and so there's some nonpolitical things that I think we can discuss.
And I love this study. I love this because I think I watch this play out on a daily basis. You could disagree with me. They found something called the Flynn effect. The Flynn effect is when IQ scores increase progressively over the years.
So the IQ scores increase, increase, increase. And they increased significantly from 1932 through the 20th century all over the world. It ranges differently from three to five IQ points every 10 years, every decade.
Okay. But now there's a study out of Northwestern that suggests a reverse Flynn effect, maybe taking place, but only in this country. They say it was present across a large, large sample of the U.S. that between 06 and 2018 in every category except one.
Now, what they did is they used what's called the Synthetic Aperture Personality Assessment Project. It's a SAPA project. It's a free survey. It's based on an online personality test, and it gives test takers feedback focusing on their 27 temperamental traits. I think we've all taken this somewhere along the line where we, I know we did it in school to find out if you're a thinker or a feeler, introvert or extrovert.
Remember, you know, like impulsive or not impulsive, more reserved, those types of things. And we all took that test. We did it during pre-K in it too, When we were getting ready to get married, we took that test as well. And it gives you an addition to their ability scores. Survey responses.
This is a huge group. We're analyzed from almost 395,000 Americans collected between 06 to 2018. They wanted to see if cognitive ability scores changed in that 13-year time span. There was another smaller group of 303,000. they were recruited to be 2011 and 2018, so the latter part of that survey.
And that took a test. Those people took a test that the other groups did not take in the earlier years, all right?
So here's what they found out. They found that ability, ability scores pertaining to verbal reasoning, which is logic and vocabulary, matrix reasoning, visual problem solving and analogies, and letter and number series, computational and mathematical, all dropped over the course of the study period, that 13-year period, 13 years. But scores of 3D rotation, spatial reasoning, increased between 2011 and 2018.
Now, that latter group, that 303,000, that's the only group that took that test. They took that test later. All right, so it's a smaller group.
So I will tell you, I agree with this. I think this is right on. And if you're on Twitter, you'll agree with me. 844-747-8868. I think that people have lost the problem-solving abilities.
They don't understand what an analogy is. They don't get it. They make like these weird analogies. Like, wait, you can't do that. That's just those two totally separate different things.
They're not even close to each other. How can you compare them? But they do, especially when they're talking politics. You know, I got into it with this guy yesterday. went on for a while and I bop out and every now and then I come back in and he's just, he knows that Donald Trump's committed a crime.
So we help him unpack it, like help him work through the logical reasoning because he can't work through the logical reasoning. I think the reason they can't is because we have a generation that's come up that has been taught that what you feel is right is right. Like I feel that everyone should be represented equally in the government So we get Karine Jean-Pierre and we, you know, we get Kamala Harris and we get Pete Buttigieg and we get some of these judges that have been nominated for higher positions, not because of their ability, but because they are skating by on diversity, skin color, who they like to sleep with, all these other characteristics. and they check boxes.
So they automatically get jobs and they're automatically right. Like you can't question them because they're right. There will be no questioning. And so it becomes entrenched. I highly recommend you watch the movie Idiocracy if you haven't seen it because we're living it.
And that movie had been made, gosh, more than 10 years ago with which one of the Wilson brothers has the dark hair, Luke or Owen Wilson? Whichever one has the dark hair. I think that's Luke Wilson. He's in it. And Maya Rudolph is in it as well.
And Terry Crews is in it. And it's hilarious until you start to realize, oh my gosh, we're on our way to this right now.
So I highly recommend you watch it if you want to see where we're going to be in probably about 10 years at the rate we're going.
So 844-747-8868. do you agree that Americans are getting dumber? Our IQ scores dropped in four out of five measurements in the span of 13 years. And it dropped in logic, vocabulary, visual problem solving, analogies, and of course, math. Math, forget that.
See, for me, I was never good at math. Math and I parted ways in second grade. Times tables was not my friend.
So second grade, I went one way and math went another.
So I don't expect to do, My IQ score hasn't dropped there. It just was never very high to begin with when it came to math. But I see it on a daily basis. No one can spell. Nobody knows the difference between T-O-T-O-O-T-W-O.
You know, my grandfather dropped out of school when he was, what, 15 years old because he had to help the family. And he knew the difference. I mean, I think he was smarter than a lot of people today who have college degrees.
So they're saying that it doesn't mean that their mental ability is lower or higher. They're saying it could just be that people are getting worse at taking tests or just worse at these types of tests. I think it means people are getting dumber. We're not teaching our kids what's important. People don't know civics, which is why they think that it's perfectly fine to strip the president of his right of client attorney privilege.
They think it's fine to strip Proud Boys of their client attorney privilege. They think, you know, because it's the way I want it to be. And I feel that this is the way it should be because I feel that that person's committed a crime, that they're bad people, so they should go to jail. It's like, well, due process? They'll get their day in court.
Okay, pretrial detention for two years?
Well, that's because they're dangerous. There's no civics. We're not teaching history. We're not teaching the Constitution. we're not teaching the things to get along in daily life we're just teaching them how to feel your feelings are reality and you cannot have a logical conversation with some people like I said if you've ever tried it on Twitter by the end of it you seriously just need to walk out the door sometimes I just have to turn it off and walk away But Ultra Companion on Twitter says, some people understand logic better than others.
Hashtag common sense. And that's what Todd does on this show. He tries to put everything in common sense terms, which is what I like, because you would think common sense is common. And so a lot of people understand, well, that's just common sense. But that doesn't seem to exist anymore.
844-747-8868. Do you agree that Americans are getting dumber? You know, here's something else I've noticed. With the advent of ways and geolocation and all that stuff, and it just tells you make a right, make a left, we don't know how to get anywhere anymore.
So when I was in, I live on the Jersey Shore, right?
So I got transferred out to California with my first job. And I rented a car one day and I said, I'm going to drive up and down the coast. I'm going to go see these other places in California. We're going to head north. And because growing up on the East Coast, if you're heading north, the ocean is on your right.
If you're heading south, the ocean's on your left. If you're heading towards the ocean, you're going east. If you're heading away, you're going west. It's the total opposite on the west coast. But we didn't have ways at the time.
We didn't have any kind of automatic direction-giving type thing like Google Maps or anything like that.
So I literally had a Hagstrom map to figure out where I was going. And the ocean was on my left, so I assumed I was going south. No, I was going north. I got so lost. But now we don't even have the ability to do that.
When I was a kid, we had hundreds of acres behind our house when I was a kid. And we used to go play in those woods all the time. And we were capable of navigating in there as kids, knew how to get wherever we were going, knew how to get back home, how to get back out. We looked at rocks and trees and all that kind of stuff. We knew how to get out.
we knew we had to be home by the time the sun went down because we didn't have street lights or when my mom turned the front porch light on or the back porch light. We knew we had to be home by then. But we knew by looking at the sun, oh, it's time to go home. We had much more, I think, ability than we have now. And you could say, oh, I don't need those things because I have my phone.
I don't need those things because I have Waze. But if the internet ever goes down, what are you going to do? right so i do think we're getting dumber i do think we've lost our ability to logic things out to reason things out to problem solve kids don't problem solve anymore their parents solve everything for them you know my parents would be like figure it out there are plenty of times where i came to my parents with a problem they just looked at me they're like you're gonna have to figure this out on your own i'm sure they wanted to help but they also knew that we had to develop the ability to Think through a problem. Think through an issue. Think of the possible outcomes if I do A.
What are the possible outcomes if I do B? And, you know, noodle it around up there and figure it out.
Now, that doesn't happen anymore.
Now, the project did not attempt to determine the reason for the decline in the IQ scores. Researchers said there's no shortage of possible explanations. Theories abound. poor nutrition, worsening health, media exposure, changes to education. That ties in with TikTok.
How much time do kids spend on TikTok now in their rooms, not talking to anyone else, not outplaying, not learning conflict resolution by getting into fights with neighborhood kids and that kind of stuff? They don't do any of that.
So now they're attempting to access a data set containing 40 years worth of data to conduct a follow-up study. They say change in societal values may have also affected IQ scores. Yeah, we're not allowed to admire achievement anymore. It's no longer a meritocracy. We're moving to equity, right?
That's what we're moving towards, equity, not merit.
So don't study super hard because if you're a favored group, you don't have to. You're just going to get it anyway. But if you're not part of a favored group, well, then you know what? It doesn't matter how much you study either because it's not based on merit.
So it dumbs down the society. they say if you're thinking about what society cares about and what it's emphasizing and reinforcing every day there's a possibility of that being reflected in performance on an ability test they say there's been more emphasis on stem education in recent recent decades so does that mean that other academic areas like abstract reasoning are receiving less attention in school i don't think that because if it's on stem then math and computation would not have gone down the 3D rotation spatial reasoning increased. That was the only one. 844-747-8868. If you want to comment on this, also open phone Friday.

Lamar, you're on the Todd Starnes Show. Hi. Yes, well, thank you so much. This is my first time calling in and actually getting through anywhere. And I really enjoyed the conversation that you were leading on the apparent decline in intelligence as generations come forward in our country and the culture.
I am a professional speaker, motivational speaker, workshop facilitator, led seminars to over 16,000 people over 16 years all over North America. and part of what I teach is grounded in sound cognitive psychology and perception and so what I have found is that we have a culture and as you I've probably stated yourself it's more narcissistic than it's ever been ever everything is based on people's feeling I do what I feel Remember that song back in 1983 Denise Williams Do what you feel Do what you feel Maybe it didn't inform the culture And it was a reflection of the culture And originated And arose from the culture But it defines How people experience Who they are In their environment We do what we feel, we don't do what we say There's no integrity no one has integrity with their word such as when i was growing up and i'm i should retire two years ago if i continue to travel and speak i'm never gonna quit unless i die in front of a room full of people that'll be great but what i've found is i will ask people do you believe that your your word your word is your bond and everybody raises their hand so you tell the truth the whole truth nothing but the truth and you always do what you said when you said you would do it as expected or agreed and by when and then everybody's hand goes down right so why is that because we have one minute yeah so people have these delusional thoughts about what it is that they think should or shouldn't be in life their perception of the world of themselves and around it is all idiosentric it's all self-serving everybody is exists to serve them that's the very narcissistic and so there's no intelligence because there's no commitment to who I say I am and what I say I will do. I just do what I feel and if it doesn't work out, it's your fault and you should serve me and it's all you're to blame for. That's right. What a wonderful way to grow up.
What a wonderful way to if it doesn't work, it's your fault. You know, Lamar, I wish we had more time with you. I'm so sorry but we running out of time here Thank you for calling and I hope you call in again to the Todd Starnes Show And have a wonderful wonderful weekend Coming up Bobby Barak from Outkick will be joining us And this is a perfect intro into it on the fall of the woke influence on society. Wendy's on the card only, single item at regular price. Yes, I'm Mary Walter. You are listening to The Todd Starnes Show. Todd is back with you on Monday. Joining me now, OutKick's Bobby Barak.
Bobby has a great article out. It's getting a lot of play on social media because it's a really good article. This is what the fall of woke influence looks like. Bobby, welcome to the Todd Starn Show. How are you?
Mary, I appreciate you having me. Of course. It's good to have you here because this is so interesting. You predict the fall of woke influence. And what you're saying in this piece, and I highly recommend people go to OutKick and read this, but what you're basically saying is that, you know, like the woke ridiculousness has kind of hit its peak.
And now we're starting to come down the other side thanks to comedy. What's happening? Yeah, so let's take a step back here and go back to Andrew Breitbart, a really brilliant mind saying. His most famous quote is, politics is downstream from culture, meaning trends originate from culture. Then politics usually adopts those strategies.
And that's what happened with wokeism, if you will. It began by launching a stranglehold on comedy, entertainment, music, athletics, academia, and later it downstream over to politics.
So the only way for this movement, this coalition, this cult to ever end is this culture is where it begins to die. And you're starting to see major pushback from the very tools of messaging that help enable this ideology. I lay it out. Chris Rock, he's pushing back. Dave Chappelle, he's refusing to obey by woke think.
Netflix, most prevalently, is dismissing shows that embrace these ideas by getting rid of anti-racist programming by Ibram X. Kendi, deleting shows about men having babies, in lieu of embracing confrontational comedy in shows that appeal to middle America, and they're doing so to great success. And you look over what's happening on Twitter.
Well, Twitter really helped promote a lot of these ideas by a rigged algorithm and normalizing certain walkie trends, like putting your names and your pronouns in the bio or using hashtags, mask up, hashtag BLM. But Elon Musk's chief mission since purchasing the platform is to unrig the algorithm to let trends originate naturally, not at the behest of anonymous figures behind Twitter headquarters.
So if you couple all that together, the way the woke were able to capture American culture was through a monopoly, a monopoly on messaging, a monopoly on entertainment, a monopoly on comedy, big tech.
Well, that stranglehold is beginning to weaken, and you're starting to see more people be able to not only push back but expose this movement, and that makes it much easier for other people to join in. And I always say woke is like the bully on the playground. When finally knocked down, it gets up no longer as fear. You see it as vulnerable, as beatable. And that's what the woke is.
It's a small, annoying 10% that's entirely beatable. Yeah. So when you talk about what we saw happening on Netflix with Dave Chappelle was the first one, right? And they wanted him canceled. And they, you know, the employees were going to walk out because he was mean to trans people and he's not inclusive and they had their little temper tantrum.
And Netflix said, okay, see you. Don't let the door hit you. We're the good Lord split you. Out the door you go. And they've never been told that.
A good portion of those people had never been told, okay, see you. You're allowed to leave. No one's making you work here. If you don't like the way I'm running my company, then so be it. I had to think that that was shocking.
But you mentioned Chris Rock as well. Were they allowed to kick down the door because they're black? Whereas if white comedians like a Louis C.K. had tried to do that, then they would have been shut down. Yeah, I think that's absolutely a great point there, because I think by them doing it, see, this is why the left always talks so much about how the right is racist.
I mean, the most prevalent and known form of racism that I see in society right now is the way the left attacks black Americans who disagree. Look at what they do to Justice Clarence Thomas or Herschel Walker or Candace Owens. Because what that does is they're living contradictions to the entire message of the left being untrue.
So when Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock attack all identities from black to trans to white to straight, it contradicts the idea that the right is holding down black people and that wokeism is the savior for it. That's prioritizing them. I think that's a great observation by you that it's even more effective when Chappelle and Rock are pushing back against these ideas and these trends and patterns than it would be for someone like Russell Brand, who is now doing it, but he came a bit late to the party. He was following after Chappelle and after Chris Rock. In many ways, this is the worst case scenario for progressives because Netflix is the most influential streamer by far.
They've lost Netflix. Twitter is the trendsetter, the default editor for the corporate press. They've lost Twitter. The two leading comedians by a mile are Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle. They've lost them.
That's a good point. Yeah. Well, feel free to consult me before you do your next article. I'll help you out. But, you know, you talk about the way that they treat the black community, the way that they treat black people who don't agree with them, that don't get in line.
And you named a couple of them. They're doing the same thing to women with the rise of men who really are women. You see it with what was at USA Today giving the woman of the year honor to a transgender state lawmaker who's only been in office for less than three months, but, you know, named for being so heroic. Not even a woman. If you've seen this guy's picture, it's a dude.
I mean, he looks like a man.
So the left, for all of their pronouncements of women's rights, they're canceling women. They're wiping women out.
So it's really insidious. And I think the most frightening part of that is what's going on in locker rooms. We've done several interviews with anonymous female athletes who are being forced to undress in their locker room next to males who now say they're females. We interviewed one woman who said, I think she was 19, she complained to her administrator, like, hey, I don't want to get naked and shower with a person walking around with male genitalia. And they pretty much told her, either do it or you're off the team, that it's discriminatory to not allow that man who purports to be a woman change inside the locker room.
Mary, two months ago, I did some reporting on this rapist, this male rapist who's about 65 years old, who woke up in prison one day and said that he believes he's a woman. They transported him to a woman's prison now where he is resting and sleeping and showering with the very women he used to rape. This is a serial rapist who strong armed the system by being moved from a male prison to a female prison. And reports now say that this person is now telling the women inside the prison that he's going to become a man again. This is such a backwards, bizarre society that you just say this stuff out loud.
Anybody of any common sense five, ten years ago would have said, no way could this happen in America, but it's happening in America, and it's escalating, and very few people are doing anything about it because they're so fearful and afraid of what will happen to them if they push back against these trends.
Well, there is pushback happening. we've seen it in I think it's Idaho excuse me Idaho or is it Iowa and Georgia Georgia and Iowa just banned child mutilation surgeries and also Iowa also banned any kind of like hormone therapy for children which I think I think is important and so there are some people who are pushing back on this and you heard Chris Rock Chris Rock pushed back on it excuse me Dave Chappelle and that's why they wanted him him out there you know what's interesting has do you know if a trans man, a woman who became a man, has ever won an award as Man of the Year or anything along those lines? No. Ironically, the one time that conversation got brought up was when the Babylon Bee named, I think her name was Rachel Levine. Yes, yes.
They named, I guess her, Man of the Year, and they were kicked out of Twitter for over a year, which was really the precursor to Elon Musk purchasing the platform. That's what started all this.
So yeah, the only time it's been the other way is when it's been done through satire, which I still think was a fantastic joke. But the Babylon Bee really foreshadowed what's to come because you have Leah Thomas, a biological male, winning NCAA Woman of the Year. You have USA Today naming that congressperson Woman of the Year, though he's actually a male, like you said.
So it never goes the other way, which is so odd because this is supposed to be the side that fights for women's rights, that is made up of feminism. It's all just a big contradiction and, quite frankly, a lie.
Well, you know, it's a society, and we've got to run, but it's a society, a societal view, a societal construct that is built on a pyramid of victimhood. And the pyramid is very wobbly. It's built on sand, I think of Giza, but without the Egyptian engineering. And, you know, women used to be at the top of the pyramid, and they've knocked women down in order to put, then it was gay rights. That was up there.
Now gays are knocked down, and now it's trans, right? And I've seen gay pride parades, stories about gay pride parades where the lesbians are marching right next to the trans men, or trans women, the trans, the LGBTQ part of it, and they got in fights because the lesbians are like, you're not women. Yeah, absolutely. I mean, there was a story, I believe it was NPR, that talked about how gay people are LGBT privileged because asexuals and trans have it worse than gay people. I'm not joking.
That's the actual story now. I mean, it's just so wild. And we talk about that hierarchy of victimhood. I say this sincerely. After the Oscars, there were conversations about how fat people are now bigger victims than women.
The movie The Whale won a few Oscars, and film critics said that it was fatphobia because the person that won the award wasn't actually fat, but wearing a fat suit. They called it fat appropriation.
So it's appropriation to wear a fat suit, but it's not appropriation for a male to pretend he's a woman and take away females' abilities to perform, have their own locker rooms, and win awards. Say that out loud. Fat appropriation is a real thing, but a woman's face is not a real thing, according to the outrage campaigns. It's absolute insanity, but I will say for the rest of us with half a brain on the outside looking in, it's wildly entertaining watching them cannibalize their own movements, which is exactly what they're doing. They can't keep up.
The pyramid of victimhood can't be sustained because there's always someone who wants to get to the top, and they just keep knocking each other off. And it's sad what's happening to a lot of groups, but you know, you got to stand up and speak up and you're the one who started, you know, a lot of these groups that are being disenfranchised were gung-ho with this whole thing in the beginning until they weren't one of the favorite groups. And so that brings us back to your article of the fall of woke influence. And when you look at it, it has to happen. Eventually it has to, it all falls down because they all start fighting amongst themselves, and it's unsustainable.
Bobby Brock, thank you so much. It's on OutKick. This is what the fall of woke influence looks like. You can follow him on Twitter at BarackBobby, and for some reason, there's a line after that, right? An underscore after that?
I mean, Mary, I was going into the weekend in a real good mood.
Now, you brought up my one pet peeve is that Twitter will not let me change my name to my actual real name. I have to use the underscore, so thanks for bringing that up. I'm sorry. Talking about a victim, but I'm being discriminated against by Twitter, by them forcing me to keep an underscore in my name.
Well, I think you need to start a group, a GoFundMe, and maybe we can buy Twitter and change that. Hey, you're the best. I appreciate that. All right, have a great weekend. Thank you so much.

Todd is back with you on Monday. Coming up soon. Not that far away. Ten minutes away. Rita Cosby.
host of the Rita Cosby show on WBC in New York, also here on KWAM. And she's a great person, good friend.
So I'm very excited to be able to speak with her. And we're going to talk about news of the day and also the Trump case in New York with Alvin Bragg. Where are we with that? My number is 844-747-8868. If you want to join me, it is Open Phone Friday.
And we were also talking about the fall of woke. Do you see things changing? You know, Bobby Brock's like, hey, the crack is in the foundation. It's changing. I'm curious to know if you see that.
And also, are Americans growing dumber? Because I see that. I absolutely see that. 100%. Yes, we are dumb, dumb, dumb.
I happen to think so. Let me go to Bill here in North Carolina. Bill, you are listening on WSIC. Bill, you're on the Todd Starn Show. Hi.
Hi. Hi, Mary. How are you? I'm good. How are you?
Happy Friday. Happy Friday. Hey, listen, you kind of talked about the civics earlier in the last hour, and that was a good segue for what I'm going to talk about. And this has to do with federalism, or in this case, anti-federalism. There is a bill going through the North Carolina General Assembly now called the Workforce Housing Bill.
And basically, I would describe it as a projects bill. This bill basically guts local localities. If you have 10 acres, you can put this workforce housing on there with no restrictions in the zoning district. The financing is crazy. If you have 50% of the housing, 80% of the average housing income, your income in the county can qualify, despite the fact that now, as you and I know, the median house price for anything is in the 350s.
If you go to get a loan, they're going to want you to have an income of $90,000 to $100,000 a year.
So in this place, in this county, it's about probably $62,000, $65,000. Eighty percent of that is not even half of what they would make people qualify.
So we're talking 2008 subprime again. The bill specifically restricts the communities from having zoning against it. You can't have green space. You can't have requirements for landscaping. You can't have other restrictions.
I'm confused. Just slow down for a hot second here because I'm a little confused. For those of us who don't understand. Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. Hold on, put the horse back in the barn there for a hot second here.
So it's workforce housing. For which workforce? What is considered the workforce? People who are in a hospital? Who?
No, if you read the title of the bill, it says, The bill entitled to act to establish workforce housing to address critical housing shortages for firefighters, law enforcement, teachers, nurses, first responders, and other vital workers and first-time homebuyers. I'd focus on the first-time homebuyers part more than anything. I think they're just trying to get the buy-in with the first part.
So this thing will gut what the localities can zone for. You know, you've had 40 years of trying to get out of the project mentality with having zoning. If you're within three miles, localities will pretty much be forced to extend utilities to these places. And one of the very last things in the bill that says you're not allowed to impose impact fees, water waste water system development fees on workhouse improving lots. This thing is crazy.
I mean, it's going to go back to the subprime market. People who can't qualify for, you know, any other way are going to be forced, allowed to do that. People need to get up in arms on this. If it's a 10-acre lot, this will be coming to a subdivision near you very soon. Yeah, I know it's very quick.
There's a lot of moving parts, a lot of jargon I didn't understand. But if you're in North Carolina, and is this a state, very quickly, statewide, or is this just a county? It's the state. It's the Senate bill going through. They've had the first reading, and they're working through it.
It's supposedly bipartisan, but I'm telling you, this is bad.
Okay. Well, I was going to make some comments here, but we're out of time.
So thank you, Bill. Appreciate it. But if you're in North Carolina, pay attention. All right? Doesn't sound like a good thing.

Todd Starnes. Oh, yeah. And I'm Mary Walter in for Todd Starnes. Todd is back with you on Monday. All right, with us on the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line, it is Rita Cosby.
She's the host of the Rita Cosby Show on WABC in New York and also heard here on KWAMP. Rita, how are you? I'm doing fantastic. And we are busy as heck, of course, based out of New York, all eyes on the Alvin Bragg grand jury. And I've been talking to all sides of it, but we're wondering what's going to happen in the next few days.
Well, if you're wondering, there goes our interview because I was going to ask you.
Well, you know what? Here's what I'm hearing, Mary. I'm hearing that clearly there was a monkey wrench thrown into the whole process. because Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg is a Soros-backed DA, so much like the George Gasco in L.A. and some of the other soft-on-crime DAs across the country.
He got a million bucks to run, and he said he was going to go easy, basically, on the criminals, right?
So we have seen repeat offenders back time and time again on the streets, and yet he is spending now all his effort on Donald Trump, and the war of words is heating up. We can see a lot of security around New York as they're beefing up for a potential maybe indictment. But the last few days, what seems to have happened, I talked to Robert Costello yesterday. Robert Costello was sort of the prime witness earlier this week who went before the grand jury, Alvin Bragg's grand jury, and basically said Michael Cohen is a liar. He was Michael Cohen's attorney at one point.
So he also, by the way, worked out of the Southern District of New York.
So he's a well-known attorney, Bob Costello.
So it's not just anybody coming forward with these allegations. It's Bob Costello, who's a reputable attorney and someone who knew Michael Cohen very well. And he said he can't be trusted. Here are some of the emails. Here are some of the notes.
Here are some of the documents that show a very different picture. And from what I've heard from a number of people who are familiar with the grand jury and getting some sources and stuff, information coming out, basically that it has thrown a monkey wrench into alvin bragg's case because now the grand jurors are going wait a minute we heard all along what a great guy this michael cohen is and what a terrible person trump is and now this guy is painting a very different picture so everyone's wondering is an indictment coming we don't know but so here's the thing if you're on that jury which i'm sure they're crazy liberal and want to indict trump like they're they're going to indict him like the like the georgia jury with that emily cores as the uh the the the four women of the jury I mean, that thing going on. By the way, Mary, wasn't that woman, wasn't that the craziest foreperson you've ever, you and I have been in politics, covered, you know, politics forever and journalism forever. Wasn't that the craziest foreperson of the grand jury Mary ever? But, you know, what's interesting is that this is, these are the people who have your life in their hands.
What, we have to do something about our system because it's clearly not working. you know it's it's she there people are so apathetic or they just like oh it's trump so he's guilty it's like what's happening january 6th with the defendants there julie kelly was telling me that in some of these cases the jury go the the jury goes off to debate and they're back in half an hour and they already have a guilty verdict they just went back filled out the paperwork is all they really did and came back because they don't care about anything it's just like well i feel they're guilty and this goes with another topic we were talking about of the dumbing down of America and how we're getting dumber, especially when it comes to logic, vocabulary, problem-solving, analogies, those types of things that you need in order to take in information and come to a logical conclusion, right?
So we're getting dumber when it comes to that, and I think we're becoming more tribal, more political.
So what we're seeing happen kind of makes sense when you put it all together.
So let me ask you, when it comes to this jury, is is it because you mentioned Costello and saying hey I worked with the man you know I worked in the southern district of New York I know what this guy is like I had someone on Twitter say to me well he was lying well Michael Cohen was like what was Michael Cohen lying when he said that Trump knew nothing about this and he paid the money and or was it was she goes well whichever one was the one he lied when he said uh Trump wasn't guilty and I'm like oh that's the one How do you know that? But these are the types of people that sit on juries. No, you hit a great point, Mary. And by the way, I'm so happy to hear you filling in for Todd. You know, I adore Todd and I adore you.
So they have a home run with having you there filling in for Todd today. You know, Mary, you hit it on the head that New York, you're right. It is a super liberal place. There is no question. But what Bob Costello told me is when he made those comments, he said he visibly because he had the chance.
unlike, you know, obviously a very sort of bird's eye, you know, right there on the cat's feet and was able to look at the grand jurors. And he said that five or six of them when he started telling what he knew. And he said, I have three hundred and twenty one pieces of correspondence about Michael Cohen with Michael Cohen. The grand jury only saw six of them. And he said he literally was looking at the grand jurors eyes and they were rolling their eyes, shaking their heads.
In other words, saying, wow, this is a whole different vision than I've even seen.
So even an ultra-liberal grand jury, which you're right, almost you think would put a rubber stamp against Trump, they were surprised to hear his information because you have to remember, too, grand juries, when they go into the process, typically grand juries only hear from one side of the story. They only basically hear from what the DA presents. And that, by law, they are allowed to only do. It's an interesting process. That's why you can indict a ham sandwich.
If you kind of go in with the case, you can basically indict anyone. Right.
But in this case, they actually did have Costello go in because the Trump team said, we want him to come in. He was very forceful about it. And he may have sent a monkey wrench, he believed, to the process because he actually looked at the grand jurors, even grand jurors and ultra liberal New York, when they're presented with what looked like some really strong evidence. If I was on the grand jury and I've never been on a grand jury, I've been on a jury, by the way, I was picked on a jury years ago and it was fascinating. But on the grand jury process, even I would imagine grand jurors hearing that would have to say, hey, Alvin Bragg, you know what?
Maybe we should see some of these pieces of evidence that this guy, Bob Costello, who seems like a reputable guy, is talking about. The question is, will Alvin Bragg, who is so political, so hell-bent on getting Donald Trump, still try to push it through for a vote? Will he try to maybe bring in a rebuttal witness? Clearly, something went awry after Bob Costello because it looked like it was full steam ahead. But now is the question, what will happen next?
I still think Alvin Bragg will go forward with it because he has invested so much in this, Mary. How does he turn it around? Yeah, but a loss could ruin his career, right? Could it or not? It could.
Now, this is interesting. A lot of people are saying, and I also talked to Joe Tacopina yesterday, who, of course, is Donald Trump's attorney. And Joe said he believes sort of the way out for Alvin Bragg to save space is basically put it up to the jury, have the jury vote it. If the jury votes it down and says no indictment, no true bill, which is the technical verbiage, then maybe it saved Alvin Bragg's face that he went through it politically. He's trying to appease his base.
He's going to have a primary probably coming after him in, you know, a few months. He's going to have a, you know, so maybe this way it saves him politically. And he says, I still push. I still went after Trump. And the jury said no.
On the other hand, I don't know. He clearly doesn't want a defeat. I think he'll still try to do something to try to take this all the way. I don't think a jury, even an ultra liberal New York, will ever convict Donald Trump. But maybe just to have it go through the process and it be in the middle of a trial during the middle of a primary for Alvin Bragg maybe is good for him politically.
But that's obviously not good for America. And that's not fair justice. Yeah, well, fair justice, that doesn't exist anymore or this wouldn't even be happening right now. Let me ask you, do you think it means, and I've heard a lot of people, different theories, are they pushing this and going after Trump? They're going after him in Georgia.
They're going after him with the classified documents. There like four different cases currently brewing against Trump They want to keep him embroiled in this all the way through the election just like they did with investigations you know all leading up to the 2020 election You know they kept that going They going to try to do this to keep this going these investigations and negative stuff about Trump coming out coming out coming out leading into 2020 Is that because they're trying to get DeSantis elected? Is that what they're saying? They'd rather run against DeSantis? The polls show that DeSantis has a better chance of beating Biden than Trump does.
well that's an interesting question twofold first i think your point is right that they want to keep throwing barbs at trump i think though for a different reason i think they also see that he is the front runner in all the gop polls predominantly um and you're right on the matchup right now desantis does do better against biden but right now short term i think they love going after trump they want to muddy the waters against don trump keep them as busy um as tainted as they can. The thing is, on the flip side, it is actually helping Donald Trump in the three days after he came out and said, remember last weekend he came out and said, it looks like I'm going to be arrested on Tuesday. I knew it wasn't going to happen Tuesday, by the way, Mary, at that point, because no way would Alvin Bragg want it on the day that Donald Trump says it's going to happen. The plan was to go after him on Tuesday. I was like, OK, he's not going to want to give that to Donald Trump that he was right on, even the date.
You know, he hates Donald. It's orange man bad is everything with, you know, with Alvin Bragg. But I think that they really miscalculated. It has backfired. In the three days after that came out with Donald Trump, he raised $1.5 million because a lot of people who weren't even sure about Donald Trump and even were maybe thinking about DeSantis, some of them I've talked to have said, you know what, I'm now going to back Donald Trump because he's clearly being persecuted.
This is clearly a political witch hunt after him. And because of that, so it's actually backfired in many ways. And in many ways, all these investigations, especially starting with the Alvin Bragg one, which looks like a weak case, even by many liberal attorneys that I have talked to. I don't know one attorney who's told me they have a rock solid case. I mean, and that's stunning.
I talk to attorneys on all sides of the aisle, you know, Mary. And so for me, I think going after this weak case first off and making this almost the first one at the front of the line, like you said, sort of the throwing darts with all these different cases. It's actually emboldening Trump. And also because this is so weak, I actually think it hurts other cases that they may be trying to go after Trump. And ultimately, this may elevate Trump and it may make it a Trump-Biden matchup.
Interesting. We'll do it again.
so to your point even it was Dave Chappelle I think it was who was doing a performance in DC and Nancy Pelosi was in the audience and he's like what are you doing? You're making him more popular. What is wrong with you people? Before we run out of time, I'm sorry. I have like three minutes here so just very quickly you talk about other cases.
The documents case where they're looking into Trump for the mishandling of the classified documents in order for them to go after Trump, they got to go after Biden, right? Because it's so high profile. We know about now that Hunter Biden allegedly had a mole inside the FBI who was feeding him classified documents and he was tipping the Chinese off. And in the meantime, the Chinese are putting millions and millions of dollars in Hunter's bank account.
So I mean, it really looks really bad. If they allow that to go through, is that not a signal? This investigation, if they allow any kind of prosecution of Trump to go through, is that not a signal that they're dumping Joe. That's a great point.
Now, you have to remember the timing of this, Mary, because there is a huge double standard, as you and I both know. And of course, all our great listeners know. I mean, there's no way. Look at the way they've handled Trump versus Biden. First of all, even on the leaks.
But I think because the Trump case comes up first, because remember, the special prosecutor got appointed first. His case was revealed first, if you will, because part of it that Joe Biden's team suppressed it and the DOJ suppressed it. Remember, we didn't even know about the classified documents with Joe Biden. Right.
It was about two months later. Remember, of course, we didn't know right before the election, Mary. What a surprise, right? Yeah. So even if they are going to go after Joe Biden eventually and have a special prosecutor, which we know is looking into it, because Trump's case came up first, there will be much more heat on Trump first.
so i still think listen democrats are not happy with joe biden you look at the new poll that came out today it's an 18 poll he's at 38 percent um the problem is who's the backup i'm not i think they would love for biden not to be on the ticket but joe biden and jill biden i think are both going to uh be happily announcing in like two to three weeks that he's going forward and i think they're hoping if they can batter trump enough if he is the front runner uh that even a terrible week Biden maybe will work. Maybe if they keep them in the basement like they did last time. Yeah, so so interesting. And who better to wade through it all with us than Rita Cosby, host of the Rita Cosby Show, WABC in New York and now also airs on KWAM, the home station here of the Todd Starnes Show.

Let's go to Orlando in Georgia. Look at that, listening on WDU and Orlando. You're on the Todd Starnes Show. Hi. Hey, Ms.
Mary. It's about time y'all got to me. Lord have mercy. It's going to take forever. I'm just kidding.
I'm just kidding. how y'all doing this afternoon i thought i was gonna go to sleep on the phone for a minute i hope you're not driving well actually you're actually talking to a blind man so if i'm driving i think everybody need to get out the road oh yeah but uh and i'm i'm actually disabled i'm on i'm a blind citizen but lord you you you guys have covered so much within the last two hours actually almost here and um my stuff is itty bitty here but uh i'm me being disabled what i wanted to talk about was um uh being on the uh the two-step card uh i have actually purchased online through walmart you know certain foods you know that i like to get and uh they push you to buy the other stuff instead of what you what you're actually looking for and it's just crazy on how they do that and uh you know that goes back to what you you guys were saying earlier about the the movie idiocracy i i've actually seen that movie and i really like that movie so and uh the other movie wally it's a cartoon it's actually just the same as idiocracy but it's in i didn't know i didn't know that i've heard of it i've never seen it i didn't realize that Yes, and it portrays the same thing about the IQ of how the world has went from having knowledge to not having no sense at all. I totally understand that. But yes, the thing about Walmart, they make you buy certain things instead of you getting what you want. And I'm sure that there's others out there that have actually experienced the same thing that I'm talking about, too.
And it's actually an honor to speak with you because you don't always talk with someone that has a good IQ because everyone gets frustrated and they don't want to talk no more.
So you're telling me, though, the food stamp card, the problem you have is that you can't get certain foods. Is that what you're saying? Exactly. Exactly. And it's very frustrating because they make you buy the Walmart product instead of you buying like Green Giant or Libby or something like that.
Right, right. And you know what, Orlando, we got to run. Thank you so much for joining me. But, you know, I kind of get it. I kind of get it.

So you think Americans are getting dumber?
Well, I don't know if they're dumber, but everybody, not only in America, has the basic trait of laziness. and in those years that you talked about 2006 to 2013 or whatever it was that's sort of when social media took off and google took off even more and so i think and i got a second point after this one what happens is uh well my wife says before you pick up the phone google your mind so the internet and social media and all just promotes more laziness it makes it easier to be lazy that's the first point very true just quickly just one comment my husband does the same thing and he says to me all the time i'm like oh hold on a second i'll look it up because no put your phone down and use your brain and i'm like okay that's a good idea because it's so easy to just oh i'll go to my phone and find the answer you don't have to think so that's a great point go ahead i'm sorry that's okay and then you had jerry at the beginning beginning and to my comment to him would have been, I got one more to tie in with Jerry, my response to both him and Hakeem Jeffries. Jerry, does Joe Biden need to be held accountable for any crime at all? And if he said no, then I would say to him and to Hakeem Jeffries today, who said with the passage of the Republican Parental Bill of Rights in the House, and he said, as they always do, projecting their mindset and their crimes onto the right, onto their enemies, Hakeem Jeffries says that bill will be a threat to the rights of education or something, and it's quite the opposite. and it will actually just try to be holding on to tradition, common sense, sanity, and what we all have, you know, 2,000 years of tradition and so forth.
And for them to say that's a threat, here's my response from the old Woody Allen movie, Annie Hall. Woody Allen was talking in the movie as an actor to Diane Keaton's boyfriend, a cokehead, wigged out at the time on coke and to jerry and to hakeem jeffries and all like-minded folks i'd love to keep on talking with you people but it's now time for me to return to planet earth yeah yeah very very good way to sum that up tom thank you so much um i appreciate you um here here's the thing you talk about the the bill of rights and how what he came jeffrey said about uh you know it's a threat to to education and everything's a threat to the you know to um america democracy it's a threat of democracy this time he said it's an education threat to the education of our children right here's the thing whenever whenever someone on the left says to me that this the school choice stuff this parental rights bill education rights bill whenever you see these being passed and the left loses their mind. I always say to them, I go, well, parents are just going to get to choose. If the public school system is as good as you say it is, then people aren't going to leave it. What are you afraid of?
You know, this is a great way to prove that you're right when parents don't vote with their feet and they don't take their children out of the public school and put them in a private school, right?
So if the parents are as happy with the public schools as you say, and the kids are getting such a great education as you say, then you have nothing to fear because the dollars are going to stay in the public schools.
So are you telling me that you're afraid that parents are going to leave because they're not the best schools? And then they never know what to say. Right? What are you afraid of? You're telling me this is the best product and everybody knows it's the best product and they've been raised in this product and it's the best one.
So why would they leave? What are you afraid of? Let the experiment fail. 844-747-8868 Patty in North Carolina on WSIC Hey Patty, welcome to the Todd Starn Show Happy Friday Hey Mayor, my good old Jersey friend Yes I talked to you once before, Mary Yes, yes, good to hear from you Yeah, how are you? Hey listen, I have a This is just, you know, I was thinking about this and i'm thinking you know it reminds me of they've been trying to get donald trump since the escalator okay yes and you want to know something it reminds me of the cartoon wildly coyote going after the the roadrunner yeah it's like they can't catch the guy well here's the thing donald trump i think is squeaky clean and that's a problem for them you know why because he's not a politician right and a you know what and i people say to me what's wrong with this guy saying he wants to get arrested i think the guy if you're gonna arrest me put the handcuffs on the guy is right in your face he don't care or if you're gonna go go the whole way right right there well but here's the he's smart i will always say listen, there are times when I wish Donald Trump would stop tweeting or he'd tweet something.
I'm like, really? Did you have to do that? And I was just like, sometimes he's his own worst enemy. But we're kind of all our own worst enemy a lot of times, right? And so he's no different.
He's a flawed human being. And that's okay. You know, God sometimes uses imperfect people in perfect situations. But I just, I think what happens is that he's very smart. He knows how to play these people.
I always said he's like the he's like my cat. They're like my cat chasing the little laser and they never catch it. But they think this time they're going to get it. And he knows that and he plays with them and he knows how to play them, which is one of the things that that I just love about them. And it's over and over and over again.
They're like, oh, we got them now. I just looked this up.
Somebody posted this on in my Facebook group. He said, Trump posts messages that they were going to indict and arrest him. The media goes into a frenzy thinking they finally got him. Trump team plays into the frenzy. Legal team press conferences, outrage, etc.
Trump team circulates letter from Cohen team proving that he's innocent. Public sees the two-tier system of justice. Trump gained sympathy and support from the people. Trump wins again. Wash, rinse, repeat.
Exactly. And it's so true because you know what? How, you know, so many bad things going on and around in this country and the world. And they keep on going after this guy. When are they, are they ever going to, I don't think they're ever going to stop.
They're not going to stop. They're not, they're not going to stop, but they're done. And in a way, you kind of hope that they don't stop because it just keeps proving he's right. He's proving that there's a two-tiered system of justice and they're helping him do it. And it's a beautiful thing.
You know what? I'm telling you, he's got my vote. I'm going to stand by him. I'm not going to be a Judas like the rest of them. I'm standing with him.
I'm with you. I will stand by whoever the nominee is, whether it's Trump, whether it's DeSantis. I cannot have four more years of Biden because I'm already looking at having to work longer than I planned, and I can't have any more of Biden. Patty, great talking to you, my Jersey girl, and have a fantastic weekend. Thank you for listening to The Todd Starnes Show.

Hi. How are you, Mary? You sound great on the radio. Thank you. You're very sweet.
You wanted to talk about the dumbing down of America. And for people who don't know, they've noticed, they did a study and found that from 2006 to 2018, the American IQ went down anywhere from four, American IQ went down in four out of five measurements. when prior to this, it increased every decade from 1932 to the 20th century, and all of a sudden 2006 hit and we just got dumb. You know what? And it's intentional.
I really believe in that because in a socialist society, they don't want intelligent people. Because intelligent people will fight their way out of this. And thankfully, there are still some intelligent people. But unfortunately, the people that are not able to do that, and they are maybe inner city children that don't get the same kind of education in some areas. And I am not being racist at all because I worked in education for 28 years.
And when you have schools that even if certain blue states, you have better educational values and people that are more well off, I could say. And the fact that they really are trying to get this whole idea of the new world order is to make the whole country that globalist, socialistic society. and that would mean that everybody would be getting the same kind of education, which is not going to be what we're used to. They're going to have to be dependent on the government for any services. They will not be able to collect and add to your bank account.
You will not be able to do that. You're going to know what you have in your bank account. There is so much involved with this whole process that it is very scary. And people have to open up their eyes to this because if they don't, it's going to be too late. And I am a Queens girl at heart.
I live in New York Carolina now. I was born and raised in Queens. I lived in an adjacent town to Donald Trump. I know where he's coming from. and I believe wholeheartedly that he may be the only one that could get us out of this mess.
People who are offended by him, I'm like, you don't get it. This is just how he is. He's from Queens. He's a fighter. And I said, if you really don't like him and you think he's rude, just don't invite him over for dinner.
You know, problem solved. Gail, I don't mean to interrupt you, but you brought up the bank accounts and I just want to touch on that because that's a very smart point and I'm glad you brought it up. you're hearing rumblings about this digital currency in the in the united states oh digital currency it'll be great you know especially for for like poor people or people who aren't good with you know handling money and i'm like no no because look what they did to the truckers in in um in canada you know they shut them down they if you were a part of that truckers uh convoy they froze your bank accounts imagine how easy it would be to ration how much money you can have If you're filling your car up and they're like, oh, you're over your monthly allotment for gasoline. I'm sorry, but you should buy an electric vehicle. Yeah.
Yeah. They want to manipulate and they want to own you. Yes. That is exactly what they want to do. And this is, I would think that there is one, almost one person responsible for this who's pushing the button.
And I don't want to get on that, you know, naming people, but I know in my heart who that is. And there's evil in this world. There's evil because of the way they want to. There's no one that should be controlling you. The only one that you should be looking for is, in my opinion, is God, because he's got the wheel.
and I'm faithful on that count but I really don't feel comfortable I'm worse than comfortable I'm scared I even want to take my money out of the bank because of the fact that I don't know what they're going to do next Right You know Gail thank you so much and I'm glad you brought it to that point Thank you I appreciate you Have a fantastic weekend Todd is back on Monday I wanted to when she said that you know like there is evil in the world and people can laugh at me I know people don't necessarily, they sometimes get uncomfortable talking about religion, but I know that Todd's audience is comfortable with that. And I believe in the power of prayer, and I believe in praying for the country, and believe in praying for keeping this country on the path that it's meant to be on. I do think that we are the one country that stands between us and totalitarianism, between, you know, the lion at the gate, if you will.
so I I'm a big fan of that and I think that you can get a lot done with prayer and if it makes you feel good something good to make you feel good going into the weekend Joe Biden's approval rating in a new poll that was released yesterday hit an all time low so yay that should give you a little bit of hope although it's amazing Democrats 76% approve of the job he's doing only 63% approve of how he's managing the economy. I want to know who the 63% is who think that he's managing the economy well. Who are these people? I don't understand. I mean, how bad does it have to get before people go, okay, this is not good?
How bad does it have to get? Republicans only 4% approve of what Biden is doing as president. Only 3% of Republicans approve of his handling of the economy. 39% approve of his handling of foreign policy. Who are these people?
So that should give you a little smile going into the weekend. Thank you, Todd, for letting me sit in the seat. Thank you, Grace. Thank you, Kyle. Thank you, Dylan.
