Oh, wow! Happy New Year, everybody! Welcome! To the first episode of Starge Country in the great year of our Lord 2026. I am Todd Starnes, and I hope you and your family had a terrific long holiday.

I know people are waking up like they've had the most massive hangover of all time because of all the holidays. And it's especially weird when the holidays are right smack in the middle of the weekday. It just messes with everybody.

So we're going to give you, we're going to cut you a little slack today as you get back into the routine. There is a lot of news happening, not just here in the Mid-South, but also nationally and internationally. And we're going to talk all about that today. You have chosen the perfect radio station here in the Mid-South, the Mighty 990K-WAM. And I can tell you this: we are kicking off our election coverage, and I promise you this: I will make you this promise.

You will find no better political coverage than right here on the Mighty 990. We're going to bring you all of the voices, all of the candidates. We're going to be asking the questions that others don't know to answer or are afraid to answer or to ask. Rather, we're going to ask those questions of all the candidates because we want to make sure that you have a pretty clear picture of who you are voting for when it comes time for our local, state, and national elections.

So, a lot going on here, and I want you to do me a favor. This is homework for all of you that listen to KWIM. I want you to tell at least one person about the Mighty 990 and tell them to switch over and give us a good listen. All right, our telephone number this morning: 901-260-5926. Again, that's 901-260-5926.

Throat is still a little ugh, to be honest with you. I have been. I started getting sick like last week, and so all during the all during the New Year holiday, I was out. I was doing NyQuil shots in the middle of the day. That's how bad it was.

So, fortunately, I locked the doors. I didn't want to make, you never know, I don't do good with medicine. I don't do good with medicine at all.

So, I didn't want to be in the middle of like Germantown Perkway running around in my bathrobe.

So, locked all the doors, hid my keys, and was doing the NyQuil shots.

So, I'm dealing with a hangover of another sort today. Harold Collins is running for Shelby County Mayor. He is the chief administrative officer for Shelby County, the current Shelby County Mayor, Lee Harris. Mr. Collins is going to be here in studio with us in just a little while, and we'll talk politics with him.

Also, it is Monday, and that means Vicki Gandy is here, Vicki Candy from Cry Like, and she is going to be answering your real estate questions. A lot of folks wondering whether or not they should be buying a house. Right now, and Vicki is going to help you out through all of that. And of course, the big news happening is over the weekend, I'm curious to hear your thoughts on President Trump. Because That was pretty.

Are we allowed to say badass this early in the morning? Because that was pretty spectacular, what President Trump did and our War Secretary, Pete Hegseth, going in and getting Nicholas Maduro and his wife. They are right now, right now, being escorted to a New York City courtroom, and it is quite the scene in New York City.

So we'll keep you updated. Live updates. They're doing it in the wee hours of the morning. And the reason why they're doing it in the wee hours. All the protesters, all the little communist and the wannabe communist, they don't get up till about two or three o'clock in the afternoon.

So, all of those kids are still asleep.

So, I don't believe there have been any massive protests, but that's one of the reasons why they're doing this in the early morning hours there in New York City. But we'll keep you updated throughout the day. And, of course, we're going to have live extended coverage during the Todd Stern show at 11 o'clock here on the Mighty Die 90. But, Maduro just being transferred from a chopper to an armored vehicle ahead of his first court appearance. The President, on the way back yesterday, just so you're aware of where all of this is going, and there's a lot more to this.

This is not just about drugs, and it's not just about the oil. There's also the election. And a lot of these voting machines actually came from Venezuela.

So there could be another component to all of this. We have not gotten the full story of why we did what we did in Venezuela. But be aware of this. It could be happening in Colombia. It could be happening in Cuba.

Well, that's how JFK Jr., that's how JFK pronounced it, Cober. It could be in Cuba and also Mexico or Mexico, if you're speaking phonetically. It could be all of those countries as well. You say, Todd, what is going on here? Are we like going to become the new United Kingdom?

No, that's not what this is all about. This is all about China and Russia. China had a foothold in Venezuela. And we could not allow that to happen. By the way, if you've read any of Joel Rosenberg's books, you know exactly why Venezuela is so vitally important.

Iran, they were making overtures to Venezuela. We cannot allow the Iranians, the Russians, or the Chinese to get any sort of a foothold anywhere in our hemisphere.

So what Trump is doing, if you look at the big picture here, Trump is locking down Our hemisphere. That's what's going on here. A lot of people think, oh, it's the 21st century. Countries don't invade countries. No, that's not true.

That's just simply not true. And it's laughable to think, and people have this idea that America, we are impenetrable, that no one would dare attack the United States, but they had been. And it's been going on for years. It's called illegal immigration, and it has been a Look, it's been a very dangerous thing. And as ferocious as we are right now on going after Venezuela, we need to be doing the same thing here in this country.

By the way, Zoron Mandami inaugurated on New Year's Day. Do you realize, ladies and gentlemen, he has already demoted the NYPD Commissioner? She is no longer giving briefings to the mayor?

So. Good luck with public safety there in New York City. Also, A mayor man Dami coming out and condemning President Trump for arresting his comrade, his fellow communist. Conrad Bajoro. And this just in a few moments ago.

We understand now, and we're going to do a deep dive on the national show. We also understand that there is going to be a major push to take away private home ownership in New York City.

So if you own an apartment, now's a pretty darn good time to sell. All right, we're going to take a break here. We've got Harold Collins on deck. Vicki Gandy also will talk about the big Liberty Bowl. There was so much rain on that day, but still, it was a small crowd, but it was cold, rainy, and you had Navy in Cincinnati.

So over 20,000 in attendance, I'd say that's a pretty good deal.

Well done. Always good to see the folks at the Liberty Bowl, the AutoZone Liberty Bowl, putting on a great show for us. 901-260-5926. If you want to weigh in on President Trump, do you support what the president did going in and getting Majuro? 901-260-5926.

Let's check in with Commander Chuck. This is Starned Country in the principal Toyota Memphis studio. Americans have a big health care problem. Over 100 million citizens carry medical debt while paying for overpriced and complicated health insurance. As Christians, we don't have to pay for a broken system.

All right, it is 33 degrees outside Germantown High School this morning. Hello, everybody. I'm Todd Stearns. Welcome back to Stearns Country. We're broadcasting live in the principal Toyota Memphis studio.

And I will promise you this: we are the only place in Memphis, and trust me on this, the only radio station in the Mid-South where you're going to hear from not only the Republicans, you're going to hear from the Independents and the Democrats as well. And that is part of our commitment to bringing the candidates to you so you can hear what they have to say. And we're excited and honored to have Harold Collins joining us. Mr. Collins, running for Shelby County Mayor, he has been the chief administrative officer of the county.

And Mr. Collins, good to see you this morning. Good morning. Thank you for having me.

So, a lot of people complimenting you on your tie. You're a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan. And that's a Pittsburgh Steelers tie. It's a miracle. Can you believe that game line?

It was a wonderful game. I ended up st watching the entire game, which I typically don't do unless the Stevers are playing, of course. But It was a wonderful game. What I was surprised by, they made a big deal about the fact they hauled out a priest. And I know they do this with the New Orleans Saints, but the priest actually blessed the end zone where the kick failed.

Absolutely. We need everything we can get these days to win. And so. As Mike Tumlin would say, we're going to pull out all of the stops to make sure we win. I love it.

And I have to imagine you're going to be pulling out all the stops to make sure you win as well. This is a pretty crowded field on the Democrat side of the aisle right now. What is it that sets you apart from the other candidates?

Well, number one, experience. I have over 30 years of experience in local, state, and federal government. And number two, I'm already practically doing the job. As chief administrative officer, I manage. over 6,000 employees, a $1.7 billion budget.

We work with over 4,500 retirees. We manage a $1.7 billion pension fund. And so we're already doing the job. And so for us, it is. Uh as people would say, you don't have to worry about Harold Collins being ready on day one.

Because we're already doing it 100 and some odd days, even now, before the election. Give us a little bit about your background, where you're from, where you went to school. I'm a native Memphian. I graduated from Memphis Catholic High School. My father was a cab driver for Little John Taxicab Company for 51 years.

My mom never worked out of the house. I'm the baby of 11 children. It's funny you mentioned the priests blessing the field at Accenture Stadium. Uh we raised we were raised Catholic, and so we all my my siblings uh all went to Catholic schools. And I went to the university, graduated from the University of Memphis.

I actually went to school on a music scholarship, contrary to popular belief. I marched in the mighty sound of the South for four years. Uh auto saxophone ghost saxis. And then I graduated, went to Jackson State University, and got a master's degree in public policy and administration. And let's stop there because Jackson State, people may not realize this.

They've got a great music program as well down there.

So, I mean, just absolutely. The Sonic Boom of the South is what they're really known for, their marching band. But Jackson State is known for also its public policy and administration program. Several people have graduated from that program and gone on to do remarkable things. And so we're hopeful for that.

I'm married to my wife for 35 years. I have two daughters who actually live in Memphis and Shelby County and serve in their community Uh and so we we are members of Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church. For my wife is a lifer, as they would say. I joined the church right after graduation from college and been serving ever since. You emphasized local and Memphis quite a bit in what you just shared with us.

How important is it for the next mayor of Shelby County to be somebody who's actually from here and knows the bones of the county?

Well, it's not just Memphis now. We got six other municipalities in Shelby County. And so it's important that the mayor. uh understands that relationships matter and not just Temporal relationships. We're talking relationships that were built over time.

Because that's been a big concern among the I've heard that from the suburban mayors, is that there hasn't really been that relationship with the current mayor. How are you going to make sure, and how important is it to have a relationship with those municipalities?

Well, sometimes what I seem to think is Mayor Harris saw in me some of the things that he needed some support in. And so my responsibility has always been to I communicate not only with the suburban mayors, but with the suburban superintendents. Because as you well know, county government also funds the su the schools in those municipalities as well. And so it's important that we have a relationship that's an open door policy, a line of communication that's clear and understandable, and that people know that they can call county government and get a response that they know that they're going to get is going to be truthful. What would you say is the number one number?

And we're going to get you back on as the race progresses. We're not going to get everything here into this one interview, but what would you say are the top, maybe one or two big issues facing Shelby County? Number one, it's going to be economics. Shelby County is the largest and most diverse county in our state. And so we're having some difficult times right now with our infrastructure, and we're talking county buildings.

We're also going to be have to deal with Uh and I say Crime, of course, is the number one issue that most people think about. But realistically, the county mayor's role is to support the the suppression of crime through the Sheriff's Department. But this My particular vision will be to get more active in prevention and intervention of crime. starting with our middle schoolers because we know that crime is not just a generational thing. It is learned behavior sometimes or is a cost prohibitive or a what I call a variable of the whole problem.

And then we'll start with our high schoolers and college trying to provide opportunities for work, employment, and better opportunities for our kids to go to school and get jobs that pay livable wages. I want to give out the website address here, folks. HaroldCollins, the number four, ShelbyCounty.org. HaroldCollins4ShelbyCounty.org. And you'll be able to get all sorts of great information about Mr.

Collins and his platform and his bona fides as well. You know, that has been a big topic of conversation at the dieters and after church is bona fides. I know the Republicans have been dealing with that question, Democrats as well. And there are some rumblings that Dr. Fagins, who many believe is the frontrunner, and we'll talk about whether or not that's accurate or not, but whether or not she's actually going to be able to meet those bona fides.

What say you? I'm not concerned about what bona fides. What I'm concerned about is who's prepared, who's done the work in our community. Yeah. Who's got proven results?

Who's been a part of our community for a while and then made some opportunities available, not just for myself personally, but for the entire community? That's what I'm concerned about. There was a poll out, W-R-E-G, a lot of people making hay out of that. We don't know who conducted that poll. We don't know if it was a professional polling company.

They probably should have posted all that information because there's a big difference in doing a poll that's a professionally run poll as opposed to just going out in the street and asking a few folks, who do you like for mayor? Do you buy into what that polling data said, that this is really a race between Maurice Fagins and J.B. Smiley? I think the poll that we're going to focus on will be on May the 5th. Um I believe that the people of Shelby County has enough time to do their research on all of us.

They will be able to understand the differences between leadership and. I don't want to go too far in that, but they will understand that real leadership. is position Uh practice. Our results And then the opportunities created to make life better for our community. And I think the people of Shelby County would make a good choice.

I'm curious about crime because that has been a big thing. And as great as things are, we've still got shootings happening out the wazoo here. It's still a dangerous county, dangerous city. How do you feel about? The National Guard being boots on the ground, the Memphis Safe Task Force.

I know the Mayor Paul Young taking full credit for the drop in crime, not even mentioning the Memphis Safe Task Force. But if you talk to the average person out on the streets, they really appreciate the work of the task force. I think the task force, and there are two things, two separate issues, I believe. One is. The National Guard or the Federal Reserve being on our streets.

The other piece is. Having the DEA, the FBI, Uh T V I State troopers on our streets serving. And those are two separate items for me. We all want safe streets and we all want to be crime free. And so any help that we can get from our federal partners, i.e.

those what we call the alphabet soups of the world serving in our community to assist local law enforcement, we're for that. As far as National Guardsmen coming into our city, I think that might be a little bit of concern, but we welcome the opportunity.

Well, because what you d what you look at is a paramilitary type of of of of vision. And you don't want to have a community, an urban community. uh infiltrated or occupied with paramilitary solutions. It'd be fine if they were in Uniforms that the DEA or plain clothes or whatever the case may be, but when you see National Guardsman's on the street, yeah, you support them. But it just looks like we're in a military zone.

And Shelby County, while we all know that crime was going down even before they got here, The issue becomes whether or not you want that paramilitary style on our streets. I think a lot of folks might say they'd rather be occupied by the military than the gangbangers at the end of the day, Mr. Collins. I think that the DEA, the FBI, TBI are doing a great job in making sure that those gang members are not on our streets and doing crime. We want you to come back.

Will you come back on K-WAM so we can have a conversation? We'll try to break down some of the issues. We'd love to get you back here, and that's what it's all about. We don't do the gotcha stuff here, but I think it's important at this juncture. And I think we're at a pivotal point in Memphis right now and Shelby County, where we've got to have somebody who is superb in that role as Shelby County Mayor.

I agree. All right. Harold Collins, ladies and gentlemen, here's the website: HaroldCollinsforshelbyCounty.org. That's HaroldCollinsforshelbyCounty.org. Go Steelers.

Go Steelers. All right. Thank you, Britt. Go Tigers. And Tigers.

And Grizzlies. And Grizzlies. All right. Harold Collins, everybody. Got to be politically correct on the sports teams, folks.

Hang tight. We've got Vicki Gandy coming up next. This is Starge Country. Americans have a big healthcare problem. Over 100 million U.S.

citizens carry medical debt, but that's not the whole story. With health insurance, your out-of-pocket and monthly costs are way too high. You get surprise bills, denied claims, and poor customer service. That's a serious burden. As Christians, we don't have to pay for a broken system.

Going to be a nice day, though. Going to be nice and sunny out there. Before we bring in Vicki Gandy, let's go to our phone lines: 901-260-5926. You had a chance to hear from Harold Collins, who is running for Shelby County Mayor. He's glad to have all of the government agencies here, not so much the National Guard.

And of course, he is the chief administrative officer for Shelby County government. Let's go to Mary in downtown, though, wants to weigh in on President Trump. Hi, Mary. What's on your mind today? Atar, regarding your question about whether the president is right or wrong.

You remember when Obama went in to Libya and killed Gaddafi? And then he killed those young Somalian pirates. And our tire. There wasn't this. going back and forth whether he was right or wrong.

is the same c type of scenario. And I think that America and our politicians are being hypocrites. And though It's just about all I got to say. And it's that it's it's almost like history repeating itself.

Well, it is, Mary, and it's really funny because there have been a lot of senators out over the weekend condemning President Trump for what he did. These were the same people back in 2020 that were urging President Trump to take the action he did.

So we're going to be happy on the national show coming up at 11 to call every single one of them out. All right, Mary. I wish they would stop comparing. Oh, portioning. Oh mandana.

About what he's doing. I don't think that this should come to. a courtesy between Mandana, New York mayor, and the president. He is the mayor of New York. He's not the president.

So, why should we? Why should his comments about what the president is doing be important? It's a fair question, Mary. And you know what? I promise you this: I'll answer that question on the national show today because that is a very good point you raised.

This guy's a mayor, he needs to stick to doing his day job. He is not president of the United States. Mary, got her run. Thank you, and hope you have a happy new year. Our good friend Vicki Gandy from Crylike joining us.

Go TeamGandy.com is the website. That's goteamgandy.com. Vicki, you pointed out something very important that this is Elvis Week. It is. This is Happy Elvis Week.

It is Happy Elvis Week. And, you know, I have a claim to fame with him because I lived in a house on Audubon that he owned, his first house. My parents bought it years later.

So that's my big claim to fame. Are you a big Elvis? Do you guys go down for the celebrations and hang out on the street and all that kind of good stuff? Not quite that much.

Now, I will say we have a lot of connection to him. My mother was his floral designer of Graceland. She was there for quite a few years, with decorate seasons and all that. And so we got to be friends with Mr. Vernon.

And I got to meet Mr. Vernon. Actually, I drew his blood when I was a lab tech at Baptist.

So we kind of. connected with them a little bit. Back in the day. Back in the day. I was right out of school.

Well, we're going to talk more about the Elvis Week festivities later on, ladies and gentlemen. In the meantime, we've got to talk about real estate. And we were talking of the break, and there are some things happening thanks to the big, beautiful bill that are going to be tremendous. There are, and I'd like to talk on that again when we get together a second time. I wanted to talk also about the National Association of Realtors, which their predictions are very good.

They're forecasting home sales to be up approximately 14%. And then prices to be up about 4%. That's a good comparison. Mortgage rates are declining down to 6%. And I've actually seen 5.

I've closed 2 in December with 5%.

So growth, job growth, moderate, about 1.3 million new jobs. And there's a good rebound going on. And this is so great. We're looking at a stable market. We're looking at over the years.

to 2026 to be a year where more Americans can purchase homes and the market's going to help. And then the beautiful bill, we've got some I'll touch on one thing which I thought was very exciting is our state and local tax deductions were $10,000. They're going up to $40,000.

So that's a big, big help for homeowners, especially in your high tax states. The big headline here, folks, housing market set for a 2026 comeback. That's coming from the National Association of Realtors. You guys have been, I mean, there have been a lot of talk about this, and there's been so much concern, especially among younger Memphians and mid-Southerners, about not being able to afford that first home.

So you believe that the conditions are being set where that could actually change? There are. There's quite a few. I can't go through all of them now, but we're looking at deductions and mortgage insurance. We're looking at a lot of things that they're doing.

That's the one thing about having a president who was in real estate. He knows the business. I'll tell you a funny story. One of my good friends was the first, right when he was inaugurated. In fact, she was not a fan.

She was in Nashville, excuse me, in Washington for the National Association of Realtor meeting, and President Trump. Came and spoke, and she said, Normally, the president will zip by, say two words. He talked to them for an hour and 10 minutes. Not surprised. Not at all.

So very impressive. But again, to your point, you know, this is a guy that loves real estate. He loves construction. Yes. What did he say about the new Trump class worship?

It's going to be aesthetically beautiful. That's just who he is. That's his passion.

Well, that was what she said. She said, you know, I wasn't a big fan. I fell in love with him and left going, wow, we've got a great guy running our country. Let's talk about, as you pointed out, with the housing market set for a big comeback here, a lot of people think they can just go run out and buy a house, but they can't do that. There are some steps to take before you do that.

What are some of the things that you recommend they do before they buy their first big house? I would encourage them to call me first because people start jumping in and they don't necessarily understand the things you need to do. You need to get set up with a really good Lender. In fact, I always encourage you to talk to more than one, but let them set the standards for you and tell you what you need to do. They're going to look at your credit report without hurting it and just start planning.

And also getting an idea what price range and what you're. And that's the things that we do. And I've been doing this for, gosh, almost 20 years. I can't believe to say that. Wow.

Has it been that long? 19 years right now. My goodness. I know. Time flies.

It does fly. Vicki Gandy with Cry Like Realty, Realtors. She is an affiliated broker. Go TeamGandy.com is the website. That's GoteamGandy.com.

I have a bizarre off-the-wall question about this because I've noticed this happening in a lot of the old neighborhoods. People are going in, and as near as I can tell, they're buying like, I don't know, a $300,000, $400,000 house, tearing it down, and then building a new house. You can do that. You can do that. You have to check with the areas, make sure code will allow it and all.

Um oh yeah. Uh but people want those properties. Uh the High Point Terrace area in my neighborhood where I grew up, there's like three houses that are million dollar houses. My parents bought In gosh, they were at Mississippi State a million years ago, and I was like, that was a two-bedroom, one-bath for $15,000. Wow, of course, I mean, that was a long time ago, but I mean, I wouldn't, my brother nor I were born.

But the neat thing about it is they're putting these million-dollar houses right in the middle of High Point Terrace. Yeah, it's shocking. I was driving around, you know, I am doing some house hunting as you and I have had a conversation lately. And I'm just driving around, and I'm like, oh, wait a second, that looks like a brand new house that went up. And especially over in East Memphis, I've noticed, over near Laurel Wood and that area.

They are. And those are nice-sized lots. And see, you know, that's one of the things you can do. That's the cool thing about that. All right.

Vicki Gandy. Wow, this is exciting.

So it's going to be a fun week in Memphis. It is. All right. Good stuff. All right, Vicki Gandy.

And folks, again, give her a call. The telephone number, and I love how you just offer up your cell phone number here. This is, you are offering up your cell phone. I just want to make sure before I dive it out. Oh, no kidding.

I actually got a call. I don't know how my cell phone got leaked, but I got a call, and it's like somebody thought they were calling into the Todd Stern show, and they got my personal cell phone. And then they still didn't get it. They're like, can I go on the air? And I'm like, no.

No, we're not connected that way. Exactly. 901-412-2691. If you have any questions about buying a house, what are those first steps you need to make? Vicki Gandy is going to be your first choice to do that.

901-412-2691. Go TeamGandy.com is the website. That's go teamgandy.com. All right. Vicky Gandy, always good to see you.

Join CHM today. By visiting chministries.org/slash wellness. That's chministries.org slash wellness. All right, heading up to the 60s today, and we are at 38 degrees in East Memphis. Welcome back to Stearns Country.

I'm Todd Stearns and the Principal 2 at a Memphis studio. We are following live developments from Midtown or down Lower Manhattan, rather, where Nicholas Maduro, the ousted Venezuelan leader, his wife, are set to be arraigned on drug trafficking charges. There are other charges as well. And they are being walked in to the building, the courthouse there in Lower Manhattan. Many years ago, I had to cover, I believe it was Khalid Sheikh Muhammad, was the trial I had to cover when I was at Fox.

And so spent a lot of time down there at that courthouse. But again, the big question now of President Trump announcing that at least temporarily the United States would be running. Venezuela. And a lot of people are wondering, what does that mean? What does that look like?

The vice president, who was handpicked by Maduro, is now theoretically in charge of Venezuela. But I think for us, the big story is how quickly the military was able to go in. And I think they're getting praise from everybody. Because Pete Hegseth's Pentagon and Pete Hegseth's military is unlike anything I've ever seen. It's just remarkable.

So the military going in and in just under four hours, they were able to snatch Majuro and his wife from their safe space. It's truly remarkable. 901-260-5926, our telephone number. That's 901-260-5926. There are a lot of people waiting downtown around the courthouse, hoping to be able to get in.

Also, the Prime Minister of Denmark is upset at the United States, warning President Trump not to take Greenland. and urging him to stop the threats to annex Greenland into the United States.

So it's a pretty fascinating thing that's happening in no short time at all, where you have the United States, and it very well could be that we're doing regime change in Mexico, Colombia, Cuba, as well as Venezuela, and we may pick up Greenland without firing a shot. And this is really, really frustrating the America First Movement because you've got Tucker Carlson and that entire crowd, and they're just enraged over all of this. And they're saying that we have no business going into Venezuela or any other country, that we should be minding our P's and Q's here at home. Instead of going into these other countries and telling them how to run their business, I would disagree with that. And for I well, let me put it this way: I understand with Ukraine and Russia, and there's really not a reason for us to be involved in that conflict.

That is that's a European issue. We've got a big problem in our hemisphere because we cannot allow the Soviets or the Russians rather, we can't allow the Russians, we can't allow the Communists. To get a beachhead in a place like Venezuela or any other place in our hemisphere. That was the whole reason that JFK, and if you remember the time, if you remember the story at the time, you old timers out there, most of us were not born during those, the missile crisis, the Cuban missile crisis. But the whole point was we could not allow then the Soviets to install missiles 90 miles away.

From From Miami. We could not do that.

So, this is going to be a long conversation, and there will be a lot of debate. And don't be surprised if you have a lot of the president's supporters. That pushback. I know Marjorie Taylor Greene, and by the way, today is her last day. In the Congress, you know, Marjorie Taylor Greene, the Congresswoman from Georgia.

has announced that she's resigning. She hates Donald Trump now, and and she is a de facto Democrat in a lot of the things that she's been putting out there. But MTG is really upset. And she's leading the charge against President Trump and especially on his foreign policy.

So we'll keep you updated on that story throughout the day here on the Body Die 90. 901-260-5926. If you want to weigh in this morning, that's 901-260-5926. I want to play some audio. Again, Zoron Mamdami, he was.

He was sworn into office using a copy of the Quran. And you know, it's funny, a lot of people are upset about that, and I get it. I am, I mean, it's outrageous. But did you know that there's nothing in the Constitution about what you should be sworn in on?

So a lot of people say, it's not authentic. This guy broke the law. He violated the Constitution because he didn't use the Holy Bible.

Well, nowhere in the Constitution does it say you have to use the Holy Bible. As a matter of fact, our second president, John Adams, was sworn into office. Not using the Bible as George Washington, and George Washington actually started the tradition. It was John Adams who used the Constitution.

So George, John Adams, rather, was sworn into office using A copy of the U.S. Constitution. By the way, that phrase, so help me God. That is not in the Constitution as well. The official oath of office does not include the phrase, so help me God.

That is something that George Washington added, and by tradition, it has been used ever since. And I did think it interesting. That man Domi said so, help me, God. But here's the problem. What God was he talking about?

Because the God of Christianity is not the God of Islam. It's two different gods we're talking about here.

So anyway, there was a lot of a lot of shock, I think. over how socialist Miandami's inauguration was. You know, a lot of folks thought, oh, he's gonna you know, he's he was just He was talking the talk to get elected. It turns out that he wasn't talking the talk. As a matter of fact, I want you to listen to the new cabinet secretary for tenant directors.

This is the tenants are the apartment buildings. Her name is Sia Weaver. Take a listen. I think the reality is that for centuries we've really treated Property as an individualized good and not a collective good. And we are going to trend and transitioning to treating it as.

A collective good and towards a model of shared equity will require that we think about it differently. And it will mean that. Families, especially white families, but some POC families who are homeowners as well. are gonna have a different relationship to property than the one that we currently have. This is shocking.

It's really shocking, but this is who Zoran Man Domi is. And he announced during the campaign that he was going to be targeting rich people, he was going to be targeting white people, and they were going after the housing. They're going, and the way they're going to do this, let's just say that you own an apartment building and there are some code violations in your apartment building. Under Mandami's administration, the city can go in, slap you with these massive fines. If you can't pay the fines, they will take over the building.

And you will have no say over it.

So, it is going to be a brand new day for ownership in New York City. And I know that. There was a if you and we're going to play clips of the inauguration at 11 o'clock. There was some insane stuff. And Mandami is embracing what he called the warmth of collectivism.

In other words, he says the days of rugged individualism are gone now.

So, this idea that if you want to claim the American dream, you got to pull yourself up by your bootstraps and you got to go out there and you've got to work hard. And if you work hard, you're going to be able to claim your American dream. Those days are gone in New York City. And the mayor said that. Instead, he says that if we're really going to be successful, we have to do it collectively.

T together. That is the foundational benchmark of socialism. And we're going to see how it works. And all I can say is when it fails, and it will fail. We cannot come to New York City's aid.

They're going to have to suffer. And they're going to have to suffer so they can learn their lesson here. Because trust me, in less than five years, New York City is going to look like Venezuela. Keep in mind, Venezuela back in the 1990s was one of the wealthiest nations in America. And in less than a generation, they became a third world hellhole.

That is socialism. That's what that looks like. All right, we've got to scoot out of here, folks. Again, busy, busy News Day. Keep it right here on the 9990.
