Yeah, I do. You could argue about Texas or maybe say, well, Arkansas had different trees, but they played the most quality games and won the most quality games live from the Rich Eisen Show Studio in Los Angeles. First moment of March Madness has arrived. Today's guest, senior writer for the MMQB, Albert Breer, Louisville quarterback Tyler Shuck, Michigan State head coach Tom Missel, former NFL general manager Mike Mayo. And now it's Rich Eisen.

Oh yeah, that's right. Welcome this edition of the Rich Eisen Show. We've got a lot going on around here and we've had a busy morning, but now it's the afternoon potentially wherever you're taking us in on the Roku Sports Channel and this Rich Eisen Show terrestrial radio affiliate. Smart enough to have us on the Infinity Sports Network. We're also thrilled to be here on Sirius XM Channel 375, the Odyssey app, and of course, those who want to take us in via podcasts, if you're right.

And we greatly appreciate all of that. And we've got, we're four wide today and we're all over the map. We've got Albert Breer first up, Mike Biak last up, and we've got Mikey Day of SNL joining us in advance of March Madness that's on Wednesday's show, kicking things off for March Madness on Wednesday. We've got Tom Izzo helping us tip off March Madness of Michigan State. He's going to be joining us. And Tyler Shuck of Louisville will be joining us right in the middle of this program. And man, there is lots to talk about with him and we'll set that up.

844-204, Rich is the number to Donald. Good to see you over there, Christopher Brock. What's going on? How are you, man? Good to see you, Jay Felley. How are you? Hello.

Okay. Doing good. Is that your drop? Is that your, just say hello to us or you just use? That's my Vince Scully.

You'll use Vince Scully with your Dodger cap getting set. Are you getting set to stay up? Hell no. Okay. If a game took place in the middle of the night and none of their fans actually watched it, does it really count in the standings?

It does, certainly in Japan. Interesting. So we'll discuss, I guess, Dodgers and Cubs opening night, Major League Baseball. Cool, cool, cool. Getting it done. Good to see you over there, TJ Jefferson.

How are you? Well, I mean, this guy calls himself a Dodger fan. A true fan would wake up in the middle of the night to watch the team.

For me, I wake up at three in the morning to watch New Japan when they do Wrestle Kingdom in every January. So I think you should get up and watch this. You know why I don't? Why?

There are a lot of buttons over here. I need to be focused for all these guys. That's true. That's true.

Because the other guy's not that focused. Jason Feller is producing himself. Locked and loaded. He had to do it. By the way, sometimes you shouldn't produce yourself like this, you know.

844204, which is the number to dial right here on the program. So, hey everybody, listen. We're waiting on Aaron Rodgers, you know.

And trust me, I don't wake up saying, I can't wait to talk about Aaron Rodgers again today. You know what I'm saying? Definitely not. Sorry folks. Right.

And I get it. I get it that so many people out there are sick and tired of hearing about him. And the only reason why we're talking about him still is because of how many teams he is affecting by not giving an answer right now to whether he's going to play this year or to whom he's going to announce that he's playing in their town.

We're waiting on it. And it's not just any franchises either, with all due respect to other franchises in the NFL. There's no bigger fan base.

Now the fan base is maybe just as large, I'd say that just so I don't get any pushback, than the Pittsburgh Steelers. Chris Brockman knows, okay? Chris Brockman knows firsthand. I love this story. Way back when we were just a little old podcast, a little podcast that could. And the folks at NFL Network, Executive Producer Wing, are so into the show that they gave us a sound booth and a shower curtain and say, that's your production. It was like this big.

Oh, they were very supportive or he was very supportive. But at any rate, look at us now. Hi. At any rate. Well, I know because, you know, that's where I'm from.

No, listen, I shouldn't do that, but I just did because I'm highly caffeinated. And so, listen, we were just a little podcast that could. And we decided, you know what we're going to do? We're going to send a football player to the red carpet of the Oscars, and they're going to conduct interviews on the behalf of the Rich Eisen Show.

And we'll mix because, again, we just want to mix entertainment and sports. We chose Heinz Ward for the job. The only people who knew Heinz Ward was going was Chris Brockman, who was producing it. Me, who helped set it up with Heinz Ward, who knew about it.

And then the Oscars people who. Yeah. Who when I went to get the credential, they were like, why is the NFL here?

And I'm like, just can I have my lanyard, please? And it was a question. And it was, yeah, it was a hit. Nobody knew. Nobody knew it was happening. The reason why we mentioned is you told this story.

You can go ahead and finish it. You looked up, you saw at the very top of the you get there super early at the Oscars red carpet. It's like 11 a.m. noon local time. And you're just kind of walk in, you're taking it in the scene. You know, you see, oh, cool, there's there's AC Slater over there and Maria Menounos over there and Ryan Seacrest walked by. And then all of a sudden they had bleachers for an audience for the red carpet chair, whatever.

It's cool. And then at the top row, there was like a half dozen people. Heinz, Heinz Ward, stealer fans. They had terrible towels and hats and jerseys. And they were cheering because they saw Heinz Ward. But they had terrible towels and jerseys.

Not knowing, not knowing. Going to the Oscars dressed that way. Yes, they were dressed that way. That still makes no sense. It was the most crazy thing I've ever seen.

And I understand there's cheeseheads and there's twelves and there's, you know, all that stuff. Every single one of those people right now is wondering who's going to be the quarterback throwing to their new 30 million dollar a year wide receiver. That's such a non-stealer's move to make.

Let's spend 30 million dollars a year on a wide receiver with no planet quarterback. And every single minute that Rogers says, I don't know, it's just rankling them. The Giants have a huge fan base as well.

The Vikings skull were skull chanting. And they're also like waiting. Unless they're not. At least they got JJ McCarthy. The Steelers got Mason Rudolph and the Giants have Tommy Cutlets at present. They could use this guy as basically. Or a guy, you know, similar to the guy who was winning MVPs before he went to the Jets and ripped up his Achilles.

And on occasion last year showed flashes of his MVP self. They could use that guy. And the longer he goes without saying anything, he pisses off the fans.

And the question is, what about the front offices? And Mike Bayock's going to join us later in hour three. And we'll ask him like, what would you do? Albert Burr is going to join us in just less than 10 minutes right now to tell us what anybody knows about what Rogers is thinking. And he could at any point in time make an announcement. Maybe even the middle of the next sentence I'm about to say.

We don't know. We're all waiting. And so put it all together. And if you're in the front office, do you say you've got a certain amount of time otherwise we're out? Sort of like Omar Khan, the general manager of the Steelers, or the general manager of the Giants, Joe Shane, sort of entering the apartment and like Kramer screaming I'm out of this contest. Because to be very honest, what they're doing waiting for him might be the reason why they're out. You understand what I'm saying?

Wow. Hey, I'm just trying to be like the episode talking about something without saying the words. Honestly, like what are we doing here? And so I don't know what the front offices are thinking. They're not going to say anything. The fans, we're hearing from them.

What about potential new teammates? Well, Cam Hayward gave you some interesting advice on this front. Insight. It's what he had to say on his pod when I guess the subject matter of whether he would call up Rodgers and talk to him about what's going on with him and invite him to make a decision and come to the Steelers. This was his response. I ain't doing that darkness retreat.

I don't mean any of that crap. Either you want to be a Pittsburgh Steeler or you don't. That's simple. That's the pitch. If you want me to recruit, that's the recruiting pitch. Pittsburgh Steelers, if you want to be part of it, so be it.

If you don't, no skit on my back. Not just football with Cam Hayward, who last I saw was on the other side of Adam Ray in a makeshift New Orleans kitchen on Bert Kreischer's show when he was making something thoroughly inedible. Also, that's about the most unfriendly you've ever seen. Yes. Cam, ever. That's a Walter Payton man of the year who is a jolly giant. Yeah, but he's like, no. Well, I mean, again, he must be hearing about it. This is also the end of his career here.

His window is shutting. He knows his clock is ticking. He's in the trenches, man. And he's got to figure, he's got two other Hall of Famers potentially on that defense with him. And like you said, time is not on their side. But in particular, this guy, he's the one who Derek Henry's being rolled downhill into.

Facts. He's the one that's trying to hold the line as everybody grounds it out against the Steelers. He's the one who's trying to lead in the locker room. He's the one with a C on his chest. He's the one that's trying to win before his next act of his life. And it's a big difference whether Aaron Rodgers is coming or not for him. I don't know what would move Rodgers right now. I don't know.

Nobody does. But I just thought it was fascinating that a member of the Steelers who I've been saying, hey, this is why I think it's a fit for Rodgers in Pittsburgh is there is somebody of his age group, a contemporary, who understands what it's like when there's a clock ticking. He's got both of them have gray at the end of their beards, right? Both of them are, you know, I don't think I'm telling any tales out of school.

I think going to Canton, I think what it's all said and done, Cam's going to have one of those days too. And that's part of the reason why I think it's a fit. I don't know what's going on.

Nobody does either. But the longer it goes on, the more people will just like not care. And there could be a lot of people checked out in the middle of our open right now.

I hope not because we've got a great show in store. And there's a kid, Tyler Shuck. He could be the answer here. All of this stuff where we're sitting here waiting on Rodgers and Rodgers chooses somewhere else. And the other team that doesn't get him chooses Tyler Shuck.

And he could be a revelation. The way the kids spun it at the combine, the way that he ran it at the combine, you know, he was the only quarterback in his group who ran it. And we're going to talk to him about running the 40 and he ran it twice. As a matter of fact, he ran it and he ran it pretty damn fast too. And he played to the crowd.

Like he gave like sort of an, are you not entertained arm movement as he was running through the 40 yard dash line into the end zone towards the fans. And then we had to wait for him to catch his breath because there was no one else running it. We had to wait another minute or two.

Okay. You're ready to run again, Tyler? And then he did it.

And then he spun it. And then he's talking to Kurt Warner afterwards, soaking it in. And maybe he's a guy that can just be drafted at the end of the first round top of the second. If he slips to the third, you get him. And then all of a sudden this entire conversation of like was Rogers coming or not is a moot point.

And at some point, maybe a front office turns to that concept of let's go ahead and get the kid. If you're the giants, let's just trade up to one. Let's just go ahead and do that. Rogers, you want to go to Pittsburgh?

You want to go to Minnesota? Fine. We're just going to go and trade up to one. And you have to have that conversation right now. And we'll talk to Mike Mayock about it in hour three. You have to have the conversation with John Mara. Again, no cameras on in this, in this meeting room this time around and just say, John or Mr. Mara or Mr. Son of the Duke, listen, let's trade all this draft capital.

We think Cam Ward's the guy you're going to like, but we need to go with some bumps and bruises here. Are you, are we all cool? Because, you know, I've got a wife and kids. I got a mortgage.

I've got the kids love going to school here in North Jersey. I don't want to make this move and think that you're just going to hold it against me. You know, but we, we want to make this bet here. We can't wait for Rogers. Let's go. Let's get Cam Ward. Let's sign Russ. Let's go to work. That's a plan. More than just waiting around and then someone else signs Russ and somebody else trades up to one. And now you're what out of luck?

Now you're really doing what Kramer was doing before he was out. 844-204-RICH is the number to dial. Albert Breer is joining us next. Bring me Breer.

Let's go. Breer. Albert, what is going on? What can you tell us? And his answer is probably going to be, I don't know.

Do you? Which is not usually in the senior NFL reporter of Sports Illustrated's arsenal. I know you are.

I know. Tyler Shucks joining us. Tom Izzo is joining us.

Mike Mayock's joining us and you. This episode is brought to you by Progressive Insurance. You chose to hit play on this podcast today.

Ted Lang. I know, but you're Rich Lang. Oh, very good. Come on, work with me here. I'm sorry.

I need to work with you. You're right. I was not working with you there. I was not on the same page. It's okay.

You can point the finger of blame at me. Is Tracy Morgan okay? By the way, he posted on Instagram that he's okay? I hope so, because that was wild, man. Oh, he said it was food poisoning last night. Thank goodness gracious. That was nuts.

I know. The Knicks and the Heat game got delayed for a while, and then it went absolutely everywhere, because somebody took a crystal clear shot of him tossing the cookies, man. One of my favorites.

One of our favorites, right? Sitting there courtside. Of course, the Art But Make It Sports guy did it. What did you say?

The Art But Make It Sports guy. Oh, they did? Thank you for all your concern. I'm doing okay. Dr. Sait was food poisoning. Shout out to the crew that had to clean it up. More importantly, the Knicks are now 1-0 when I throw up on the court, so maybe I'll have to break it out again in the playoffs. By the way, that's not a bad... Game seven, you got to be very superstitious.

We're down two possessions against the Celtics. You got anything in you, Tracy? Give it all you got. Oh my gosh. Wow. Yeah, that's right. You give it all you got for your team, right? Which team would you most vomit for to make win? Wow.

Have people call in 844-204-rich number to dial. At this point, I've seen all my teams win. Right. Syracuse football.

It's been since the 50s. And by the way, let's talk about that later. I'm in. All in on this.

Dude, let's talk about Syracuse and what your coach did with Dion on social. Back here on the Rich Eisen Show radio network, I'm sitting at the Rich Eisen Show desk furnished by Grainger with supplies and solutions for every industry. Grainger has the right product for you.

Call clickgrainger.com or just stop by. And here on the Rich Eisen Show, right in the middle of March, is our friend from Sports Illustrated, the senior NFL reporter, and of course, the man who pens the can't miss MMQB, Albert Breer. Good to see you, Albert. How are you, brother? I'm great. How are you doing, Rich? I'm all right. What's up?

I'm just going to go off script here. Have you spoken to PK lately? Peter King? Do you connect with him?

What's going on with him? Yeah. The last time I talked to him, after the Super Bowl, I think, he and I, I love Peter.

I know. He still has the football fan in him, for sure. And so every few weeks, every few weeks, he would reach out. And it was interesting, too, because it wasn't just like a, hey, how are you doing?

How are you doing? It's more of a, like, he wants to know what's really happening with this situation or that situation, you know? And he's like, what's really going on there, you know? And so we would talk through it. And I learned so much from those conversations with him over the years. It was great, you know? So I think he's, as far as I know, doing great in New York.

And his wife, Ann, is releasing a book, which is fantastic. And I think everything's good there. I love it. So let's just jump into Rogers. And, you know, again, we led the show with it again. And the reason why is because we, while we're waiting on what he could be thinking about, which I'm going to ask you about in a second, or what strategies are the teams that are waiting on him are employing, which I'm going to ask you about in a second, we did get some insight on what one of the teammates that he could be hooking up with, if he chooses the Steelers, has to say about him waiting.

And it's a fellow Graybeard and a fellow, what I believe, future Canton guy, and a guy that you know well, and Cam Hayward, Walter Payton Man of the Year, had this to say about potentially recruiting Rogers on his podcast. I ain't doing that darkness retreat. I don't mean any of that crap. Like, either you want to be a Pittsburgh Steeler or you don't. That's simple. That's the pitch.

Like, if you want me to recruit, that's the recruiting pitch. You know, Pittsburgh Steelers, if you want to be part of it, so be it. If you don't, no skin on my back.

I'll give you the floor now as that is a setup, Albert. You know what? It actually like kind of reflects the way I'm looking at this thing globally right now, Rich.

I mean, and I think you and I talked about this, is like, you know, we're all a product of our own experiences. And I do think, you know, what the Giants are asking of him or would be asking of them is a little bit more like what the Jets would be asking of them. In other words, they've got a promising young core of players. They've been down for a while and they're asking Rogers to come in and lift all boats and be the guy who's going to help take the core of Malik Nabors, Andrew Thomas, Dexter Lawrence, Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeau up a level, right? Which is essentially what the Jets were asking him to do two years ago when they traded for him. But the Steelers are asking us different.

The Steelers are asking him to jump on a moving train. Mike Tomlin's been there forever. They've been winning forever.

They haven't won at the highest level in a while. So it's not like, you know, he'd be going to a program that's been winning championships lately. But, you know, really, I think when you look at the Steelers situation, he wouldn't be a change agent.

He'd be the guy who'd be going in to put them over the top. And there are some guys that I think are as close to his contemporaries as you're going to find in the NFL. TJ Watt's going to be 31. Cam Hayward's obviously been in the NFL. I think this would be his 16th year. Am I right about that? I think it's 16 years for him or 15, somewhere in there. Yeah, somewhere in there. And, you know, like, so, you know, you have a 31-year-old, TJ Watt.

A 29-year-old, Minka Fitzpatrick. You know, an offensive line that's coming together. You have DK Metcalf coming over from the Seahawks.

You know, really, I think it's going to, in some ways, and this is presuming, you know, Minnesota doesn't fully throw its hat in the ring, which is still possible. But if it's the Steelers or the Giants, you're either, you know, asking him to do something similar to what he did before in the same city in New York, or do something different in Pittsburgh, which is, we don't need you to be Superman. Just come in and be the final piece. So how does- Which I think reflects what Cam was saying there, right?

Sure. Well, I mean, what he's reflecting is, is a man who's got the same amount of gray on his beard as Rogers and a window closing as much as Rogers is, right? And, and waiting for Aaron to at least say yay or nay. And the longer that it goes, I think it is, I mean, he wouldn't, he normally wouldn't begrudge somebody to make a decision, but it does affect him, you know, and whether his window has an opportunity to be flung wide open. And so how, how does one cover a guy, one sole individual who doesn't really share with too many people, a decision that impacts two of the Blue Bloods and the Giants and the Steelers, the Vikings are out there as well. I'll, I'll, I'll ask you that open-ended.

How do you do it? And a bunch of other quarterbacks too. Don't forget this, this is going to affect Joe Flacco, Kirk Cousins, obviously Russell Wilson.

Yeah. I mean, it's, it affects a lot of people. And I would be lying to you if I didn't say that I've sensed some people are a little annoyed that this is like lasted for as long as it has now, it's only been eight days, but the reality of it is, you know, this could turn into a game. This, this is turning into a game of musical chairs.

And like there could well be somebody standing without a chair to sit in at the end of it, because this thing has dragged out the way it has. And look, the Steelers wanted to bring back Justin Fields, but you know, I think this affected that. And so do they lose Justin Fields as a result of this? That's, you know, a fair question to ask. Would the Giants have done some different things if they had had a no from Aaron Rodgers before this? Maybe, you know, maybe not.

They're obviously moving a little bit faster in that they've had Flacco and Russ in for what, for visits. It does affect so many different things, Rich. And that's, that's the thing about it. Now, is this just similar from two years ago?

Not really. That one you remember last, it was, I think it was Monday of draft week. I remember I was at my kid's lacrosse practice when that one went down three days before the 2023 NFL draft. You know, like, but, but that one was really being dictated by the teams, you know, like that one was the Packers and the Jets trying to find some middle ground and work out terms of the deal. This is being controlled only by Aaron Rodgers. And you know, at this point, I, I hate to use this word, but like, it does feel like the teams are a little bit in the dark. So what is, based on your knowledge of his, his thought process, is it retirement or one or the other, or if he's, if the music does stop and one team removes the chair because they're, they're not waiting anymore, does that affect what he's thinking? Or he's just like, I don't know. I mean, or, or he doesn't think that midnight is now.

It could even be in the summer, post draft. Yeah. Right.

I mean, well, I, I tell you what I know. What I know is that he told the Jets he plans to play and they're, you know, in their discussions before they decided to move on. He did say that he plans to play in 2025. I think a big part of that is the human nature piece, which is, you don't want to go out the way that he went out last year, which was part of, you know, his reasoning for doing all the work, coming back from the Achilles.

He didn't want to go out like that the year before. So yeah, I think he's motivated to play. I think he can still play.

I think the idea that he's done is way overstated. Is he what he was five years ago? Maybe not, but you know, I think he's like the people I've talked to have actually evaluated him, who've actually studied him, like do believe like, he's a really good option for someone at quarterback, even at his age.

What I, what I can't do for you is I, I can't crawl inside his head and tell you where his psyche is now after looking at the situations available to him. And you know, I think he would have been pretty motivated to play for the Rams. Like if the Rams had moved off Matthew Stafford, I heard he actually would have been willing to go for the rent, go to the Rams at a cheaper rate.

Obviously that would have been pretty convenient for him because he lives in Malibu. But I just, I can't say with certainty exactly what he thinks of the Steelers situation, exactly what he thinks of the Giants situation. If it was the Vikings, I think that might make it a little easier because I think they're the best situation for any quarterback out there, JJ McCarthy included. I think that the million dollar question is what he thinks of the Steelers and what he thinks of the Giants.

And that'll dictate his next move, obviously. Again, barring the Vikings, you know, coming in and making a move, which again, I think is, is still possible. Okay. So what, what can you tell me the Vikings thinking right now?

Yeah. So the discussions they've had, and you and I have talked a lot about like where JJ's at, you know, like lost some weight during the rehab and, you know, like went through the two surgeries, the second surgery, more of a cleanup, lost four months of on-field development time. They got a 14 win team. That's not a rebuild. You know, I think Kevin O'Connell is, and, and, and quaice and all the guys, they're trying to give a roster that's in position to win right now the best possible situation they can at quarterback. And in doing that, they made an offer to Sam Darnell to stay. They made an offer to Daniel Jones that was competitive with the offer that he got from the Colts to stay. You know, in both those cases, I think the presence of JJ McCarthy pushed the players out of there. You know, Sam Darnell saw like the chance to be a multi-year starter in Seattle that didn't really exist for him in Minnesota and went.

And for Daniel Jones, I think he saw maybe a better chance that he could seize and hold onto the job in Indianapolis and maybe be a long-term answer there than, than was there in Minnesota. So I think here's the question then, you know, and, and, and I think this is the question that the Vikings are pondering is, are you willing to press pause on the JJ McCarthy era for a full year? Because you and I both know bringing in Aaron Rodgers is different than bringing back to Arnold or bringing back Jones where you could get a month into the season and decide to go to JJ. Like that can't be part of the plan with Aaron Rodgers, right? So you are legitimately pressing pause on the JJ McCarthy era if you do that. And how does JJ take that? You know, so I think these are all pieces of the discussion because the context of bringing in Aaron Rodgers would be so much different than the context of bringing in, bringing back a Sam Darnell or bringing back a Daniel Jones.

Yeah. And, and maybe that's what Rodgers is waiting for the Vikings to figure out. I mean, before he jumps in with the Steelers and the Giants, again, we're, we're, we're all just throwing darts at a board. And the reason why we keep revisiting it is it does affect so many other teams and so many other quarterbacks and so many other futures. And Albert Breer here on the Rich Eisen Show, let's talk about what the Giants options are waiting for Rodgers. And that is to go and trade up to the first overall pick and maybe jump head first into the rookie quarterback world and just say, we're gonna, we're gonna just start a new era right now and live with the ups and downs of a rookie quarterback.

And first question on that front is the Giants is, is would in your estimation, the ownership suite of the Giants, would they be in on something like that? Knowing that it's time, like their, their, their clock is ticking clearly. What do you think? On the idea of moving up, you're saying? Yeah. And living in the world of Cam Ward's, our week one starter, and this is it.

And, and Dayball and Shane are going to be attached to that hip and, and, and we're going to, we're going to live and die with it. What do you, what do you think? Yeah.

Yeah. Let's attack the first piece of that, which is, you know, it takes two to, to dance on this sort of thing. And so like the Titans have to be willing to move the pick. And like, I know, you know, one thing that, and having, having talked to all the guys in Tennessee, like one thing I know that they felt pretty strongly about is that they hold the cards here and they want to go through the full process and get a full picture of what Cam Ward is, what Shidoor Sanders is, what Abdul Carter is, what Travis Hunter is before they decide to do, to, before they decide what to do with the pick. And that doesn't help the Giants much, right? Like, so if you're the Giants and the Titans say, well, we have to get through the pro days and then we're going to do private workouts with them in early April. And, you know, then maybe, you know, April 10th or April 15th, we can talk about doing a trade or maybe at that point, we'll decide that we're just holding onto the number one overall pick.

That doesn't really help you much, right? Cause hope isn't a plan and the Giants can't sit there and say, okay, like, well, our plan is to wait for the Titans to go through their process. And then we're SOL. If they get to the middle of April and decide they're just taking Cam Ward, which I mean, the tea leaves right now make it look like Cam Ward is very much a consideration with the first overall pick. So, you know, based on how the Titans attack the veteran quarterback market, which to this point has really been not at all. So like, I think the Giants at the very least have to have some level of insurance. Now, if they take, if they go get Aaron Rogers, then I'd say there's not a real need for them to, to, to, to, to invest. Like there's not a need to, to get a quarterback high.

I still think they would, but you wouldn't need to really force it. If it's Joe Flacco, do you feel differently about that? If it's Russell Wilson, do you feel differently about that? Absolutely you do.

Absolutely you do. So these are all moving targets, but I don't think you, I don't think if you're the Giants, you can sit there and say like, like, let's just say the Giants like Cam Ward, but wouldn't take Chidoor Sanders third overall, and they can't even control whether or not Sanders gets them. Like you, you have to do something that you can't be left empty handed if the Titans decide they're not moving the pick. Is that why we haven't seen any first round draft choice movement at this point in time in trades?

Like nobody's moved up, nobody's moved down, nobody's moved in, nobody's done anything right now. Well, so when the Titans either say no or they, or someone moves up, then we would know quarterbacks going first, right? Like in other words, like the Titans could just sit there and decide to take Abdul Carter, but if they engage in conversations, we at least then have an idea of what the Titans are doing at first, with the first overall pick. My guess would be, they're not going to trade down thinking they're getting Cam Ward at two or three, and that's why the likelihood is Cam Ward goes one. Until, you know, we have a better feel for what the Titans are doing, I think it sort of keeps teams in the top five from really having substantive talks on what they're going to do with their picks, because you have less of an idea of what's going to happen up there. So, you know, in the same way that Aaron Rodgers is sort of stopping up the veteran quarterback market right now for a few guys, I think the Titans kind of going through their process, and they're doing the right thing, by the way, by doing this, like you should go through the full process, I think it's smart of them to do it, but that sort of stops up the idea of anybody else trading out of the top five. And what's the Browns' plan now that Myles Garrett is, by the way, the second highest paid non-quarterback in the NFL and state of Ohio, which we'll get to in a second. What is the Browns' plan right now at quarterback, Albert? I think their plan is to continue to look at all the veteran options. I think Kirk Cousins is on their radar. You know, Russell Wilson was in there at the end of last week.

The Cousins thing is interesting because he wants out. And, you know, at first I really looked at this two months ago and said they got to get Kirk Cousins out of there. It's what's best for their young quarterback. I'm starting to wonder if they maybe wind up a big winner here because someone's going to come out of here, come out of all of this, and maybe multiple teams are going to come out of this with a big question to answer at quarterback, right, whenever Aaron Rodgers makes his decision. And if that happens, then all of a sudden, I think the Vikings probably have the best option out there for anyone, right? And so, yeah, he'd cost $27.5 million for someone next year. Could you work out an agreement with the Falcons where maybe the Falcons pay $10 million of that $27.5 and they essentially buy a draft pick back from you for Kirk Cousins?

I think something like that could be in play. Even for Minnesota? You think Cousins could wind back up in Minnesota after all?

I don't think so. I don't think so, but Cleveland makes sense to me. I look at Cleveland.

Cleveland makes sense to me. Kevin Stefanski coached Kirk Cousins and didn't just directly coached him. He was his quarterback's coach for a year and his offensive coordinator for a year over that two year span in Minnesota.

So, he has a good idea of what he'd be working with. I think for Stefanski, it would make a ton of sense to bring in a guy where you wouldn't have to force it if you're not in love with what's available to you at quarterback at two. I think at least for the guys in the team, guys like Miles Garrett, you at least have a quarterback that you can go out there and win with at that point. I think bringing back Joe Flacco for them, I think it would just introduce all kinds of different things. I wonder if that would be feasible based on the way the last couple of years have played out. And then Russell, to me at least, I think Cousins would be a more attractive solution for them than Russell Wilson.

But again, that's another one of those. Atlanta has to be willing. And if Atlanta feels like they've got you in a tough spot, they could hold a gun to your head and try to get more.

Last one for your ear, Albert. Walk me through how the Bengals pulled off the double dip with Jamar Chase and T. Higgins. And if Trey Hendrickson could possibly be next to give the triple play to Bengals fans, Albert. Yeah, so I think it's an interesting situation where I think you see the power of the quarterback and what the history of the franchise sort of tells you. And this was going back to when Joe was drafted out of LSU five years ago. There were people wondering, does he really want to go there? This is a pretty smart guy who seems to have a good sense for the business.

Is he going to want to go to Cincinnati? And he chose to go there because he wanted to be the guy who changed everything. And I think he legitimately has done that here. And putting pressure on the Bengals organization to go and get these two guys done.

And you saw how public it was. For a couple of weeks there, right around the Super Bowl, where Joe basically put it on management, said like, I believe that we can get all of this done. Look at the Eagles. Look at how they've done it.

We 100% can do this. And so I think out of fear that this could be another Carson Palmer situation, the Bengals legitimately have changed the way that they do business. And getting these two guys taken care of. And now I think going forward, and part of it too is those two guys banding together, Jamar Chase and T Higgins.

And Higgins winds up hiring Jamar Chase's agent. And so they were in cahoots and they wanted to make it work too. So it really is like the power of the players that got a lot of this done. And I think what's interesting now is, I've heard a lot of people say like, oh my God, you got this much, you have all this stuff, all these resources packed into the passing game. And I just think of the Bill Polian Colts.

And that's what they're going to have to do now. Is they're going to have to be a lot like the Bill Polian Colts, where if you remember, one of the reasons they hired Tony Dungy in the first place was because Dungy ran a simple defense that could get rookies up and running fast. And Bill Polian and that group knew we have to be able to play young players and develop young players fast on the defensive side of the ball now, because we've made so much of an investment into our offense. And so that's where the Bengals are now. I can think of worse problems than having Joe Burrow, having to pay Joe Burrow, T. Higgins and Jamar Chase. But I guess that would be the thing is that you do have a lot of your resources allocated on one side of the ball.

So now you're going to have to make it work on the other side of the ball. We'll see if they get Trey Hendrickson done. Logan Wilson, they did give a contract too. But if you look at the structure of those Colts teams back in the day, they paid Dwight Franey. They paid Robert Mathis. They paid Gary Brackett. And then there was a lot of youth around those guys. That's what I think it's going to look like in Cincinnati going forward as a result of this. And in 30 seconds or so, is Hendrickson possible?

Do they have... Yeah, I think it's possible. Yeah. I mean, it's expensive now.

It's gotten more expensive. That's really the question. The guy had 35 sacks the last two years. I think the reason why he was the most available of the three and the reason why the Bengals let him go out and seek a trade is simply because of his age. He's 31 years old.

The other two guys are in their mid-20s. To me, they looked at it and they said, this is the guy that we probably have to be most willing to part with. But they didn't want to part with any of them. So we'll see if they can work something out. I think there is a way to get it done. They're going to try.

They got some runway now to get something done there. Albert, thanks for always being so available and willing. I greatly appreciate it.

You were truly... You're a friend. Thanks again, bud. Appreciate it. Absolutely. Thanks, Rich.

That's Albert Brier. Everybody follow everything that he does and he says. How's that sound? Just quickly wrap it up. Lots to chew on. We'll chew on some of it.

So they invite me out to do certain sporting events, throw the first pitch in in a ball game. Where are you doing that? Did that in Akron, Ohio.

Did a pretty good pitch. Then I went to Frederick, Maryland. Okay. Frederick Keys.

Frederick Keys, Maryland. And they made these bobbleheads of which this is one of... Oh my God, a Shooter McGavin bobblehead? Shooter McGavin bobblehead. Yes. So... Guys, awesome. Here it is. There it is. We'll have to place this in a very special spot here. It's pretty funny.

He's got the guns out, double barrels, leaning on his putter. It's pretty funny. This is amazing. Did you realize when you were doing that, Happy Gilmore, that that would be something that would stick with you for the rest of your career?

No idea. I don't think anybody knows when they make a movie if it's going to have legs like this, but this is almost generational now because of the beauty of television. When it first came out, it was a moderate hit, but now people love it and quote it. But it's neat that you own it, right? I mean, you've got a... I just read everything that's going on in your... You're on a hit TV show on HBO.

I mean, that Broadway revival of the front page. Gonna be a master. Holy smokes.

But you own this Shooter McGavin thing. Some other actors, I think, might not do that. Well, yeah. I enjoyed the movie. I enjoyed working with Adam and Dennis Dugan, these wonderful writers. And it's just... Judd Apatow is a co-writer, and these guys, they're comedy gold.

So to be with them and to have this movie last as long as it has, it's opened a lot of doors up for me personally and professionally. So it's just been a gas. And did you come up with the shooting? Yeah. I had no idea why they called him Shooter.

Nobody told me anything. So I just started making putts and going, shoot up. So that was your call? That was my call. And the very funny thing about this movie, I've told this story, but forgive me if I've told you before, but end of the movie, you know how I hate in a golf movie where they cut to the hole and the ball rolls in?

I want to say, could you please let me make it? It's about a 32-footer. And it's not on a golf green.

It's on a botanical garden. So he told me he'd give me seven tries. And that's try five, and I left it out twice. But people were betting. The crew was going, yeah, we're going to do this.

And so you see who your friend is? And when I put that baby in there and I did... Chunk on that baby. And I just did that whole Shooter shimmy thing at the end. That's the one they left in the movie.

It's so freaking wrong. Fantastic. Fantastic. And a date was announced today for Happy Gilmore 2 on Netflix, July 25th.

You could catch that right here on the Roku portal on July 25th. Yeah. A new trailer dropped today too.

Yeah. And the return of Shooter McGavin. Christopher McDonald is in it. He's in this trailer, the same with Julie Bowen. And same with Hal L, Ben Stiller.

You will go to sleep or I'll put you to sleep. Yeah. He's in it again too. And I mean, the number of Travis Kelsey, Bad Bunny. And I know people are kind of worried about it, but I am so pumped.

It's just going to be great to hang out with your friends again. How many times have you seen this movie? Wait till I tell my kids.

844-204-rich being the number to dial right here on the program. As Albert just said, I thought that was fascinating that he said that Joe Burrow said, I'm going to go to Cincinnati and change the way that their franchises fortunes go and the way they do business. And he thinks that these two people being signed are the exact signal that he was sending.

And he's manifesting that he's bringing it to actual light. And I found that fascinating to me that he's that that's the way he's looking at it and that Trey Hendrickson is possible to join. And that the Peyton Manning Colts that put the money in Peyton and Marvin and Dallas Clark and a guy that should be in the hall of fame and Reggie Wayne who I saw at the combine walking out as he's coaching the wide receivers in Indianapolis right now. And that the way they did business is the way that the Bengals are going to try and win football games right now.

And my question for that is, sounds great, looks great. They're star players. How is this going to be different than last year and the year before when they missed the playoffs? Well, again, and I'm not saying that this is going to be a change to change anything because I don't ever like making it sound like I'm not pumping a fellow Staten Islander for the Heisman, but Luanna Rumo's defensive coordinator ship is over.

They brought in Al Golden from Notre Dame and Al was coaching the linebackers before he went to Notre Dame and Notre Dame's defense was lights out. I'm not just saying how you did it in college, you can do it in the pros, but maybe a different set of eyes helps. I don't know.

Different voice, different set of eyes. Maybe that's the fix, but. I don't know if that's going to be a fix between them not starting. How about not starting 0-2 and 0-3 every single freaking year?

I think that would be. How about that? How about starting fast? How about doing what the Vikings did last year?

Let's go 3-0, 4-0, 5-0. Let's do something like that and work from that base. I'm with you. If you want to change the culture, you've got to start somewhere, right? So and the way to do that is start.

We make fun of them all the time for not spending money. So they have now done that. Yeah, I know. Maybe that'll. I know.

Maybe my Velcro wallet line is a thing of the past, which would be a bummer for me. We'll find another one. And this show is all about me.

Hour two will be the same, you know, and. But that was it for a split second. I thought my ears were going. By the way, I was like, hold on. Is that really Velcro that you or did you find that on on on the Internet?

Internet. OK, very good. I didn't know if you just were opening your Velcro wallet on there. But how about this? If Trey Hendrickson gets signed while we're on the air live instead of the breaking news drop, we just play the way that any time the Bengals signed somebody, the Bengals must have signed somebody.

We go my my I see into the Velcro or just the Velcro because, you know, to make a whole new drop. It's kind of like it's a wonderful life when a bell goes, you know, an angel gets his wings. If you hear that Velcro noise, a Bengal got his contract. Hey, a Bengal must be generationally enriched now.

Bengal got paid, folks. OK, there you go. So, yeah, that could be it. Or how about borrowed a chase, borrowed a Higgins chase brown run in it and catching it out of the backfield because he's going to be a week one starter now instead of the team saying, let's let's try Zach Moss on for size.

Yeah. And and and Gusicki and Burrow, maybe those guys just connect in such a way because, you know, Chase won't be holding in and Burrow is now going to have an off season where he's completely healthy, not rehabbing off of something. He's a comeback player of the year who is healthy, picking up that award. Maybe that team just starts blowing the doors off of people and they don't start 0-2 and 0-3 and they start 2-0 and 3-0 and work from that base and see how the Ravens can keep up. Or the Steelers can keep up with whoever the hell is throwing a DK Metcalf. And good luck to the Browns figuring out what they're going to do at quarterback. Maybe that's the plan for the Bengals. And by the way, that's not a bad plan because you've got a happy quarterback, a happy Warrior quarterback who knows, OK, we paid our guys. But once again, I will just remind everybody that if they had done this with Higgins and Chase last year, it wouldn't be to the tune of what they're paying. Sixty nine million combined. Nice.

I know you were going to go to do that. But and then I bring this up every year and I feel like a broken record, but if the Bengals are in, who's out? Broncos, Steelers, Chargers, Texans, Ravens, Bills, Chiefs. I'm still, I'm still too early. It's still too early for me to say anything like this. It's still too early. You know, because, yeah, the Bengals are going to be better. Patriots, Jaguars, Raiders, all better. Pat Tate making the playoffs. This guy keeps on dropping the Patriots and every single time. We can hear him, right?
