Look, you know, the Cowboys got to win and Kendrick dropped a new album this weekend. It was great. Life is good.

Mustache! Good to see you over there, TJ Jefferson. I'm great. Listen, I'm just going to be as blunt as I possibly can be about this very subject matter. Need to be straight up with you, as always here.

That's how you do. Saquon Barkley is the most valuable player of the National Football League in 2024. He is in the pole position right now.

And the only way in my mind that I think that this can in any way, shape, or form be changed turned around is if Josh Allen goes on a stretch over the next six weeks for the Buffalo Bills and they wind up the one seed in front of the Chiefs or we find out if Lamar Jackson can take care of business for his coach against his brother tonight and go on such a streak that in somehow some way they wind up with a better record than the Philadelphia Eagles at the end of the season. Because it all matters. It all matters. Everything matters together. Your playoff positioning, you winning a division, you also coming up in the biggest games, everything.

The intangible effect you have on your team's way to win, the consistency you have from starting the consistency you have from start to finish. Saquon Barkley, check, check, check, check. And last night, he just stamped the box in SoFi Stadium against the Los Angeles Rams.

26 rushes, 255 yards, two scores, both in the second half, both 70 plus yards. And he also added on top of it almost 50 yards in the air as well. And he has been doing it since jump. He's done it in multiple hemispheres. In fact, he's done it above the equator. He's done it below the equator.

He really is Mr. Worldwide. He's done it on Friday nights. He's done it on Sunday nights. The only blemish was a Monday night where a ball went off his hands against the Falcons. And if he had caught that and the rest of the team played well enough around him, they'd have 10 wins right now. Instead, they have a mere nine on a seven game win streak. And coming into the season, I said, can he plus up the Eagles in the same way that McCaffrey plussed up a championship quality team in the 49ers?

And the answer is most assuredly, yes. 302 total yards against the Rams. That's a single game franchise record.

He's doing it all right now. Five games with 140 or more rush yards and one or more rushing touchdowns in 2024. That's the most in the National Football League. It's tied for the most such games through a player's first 11 games in NFL history. Four of the previous five instances resulted in the player winning most valuable player.

The last people to do it. Sean Alexander in 2005. Terrell Davis in 1998. Walter Payton in 1977. They were all MVPs of the league. You want to talk about most rushing yards in a game in the 2024 season.

Let's do it. Obviously last night's is now the most. Topping Derrick Henry's 199 against the Bills in week four. And then third place was Saquon against the Giants in week seven. 176 yards. That topped Derrick Henry's 169 yard performance in week seven against Tampa Bay. Do you know what rests fifth on the list of most rushing yards in a game in the National Football League this season?

Saquon Barkley. 162 yards after contact last night. That ranks fifth. So one game puts him atop the list and then fifth on the list of most rushing yards in a game. Let me repeat that. His 162 yards on Sunday night after contact is the fifth most rushing yards in a game this season. That's insane. And then there's the intangibles.

The way he makes you feel when you're. I was in the stadium last night along with a bunch of very loud green clad individuals. I saw that. And when Saquon Barkley left the field. Because again, I was going against him in not just one, but two fantasy leagues last night in which I had commanding leads, not just in real numbers, but also in the computer projection. And it just, it just, it was gone. But every single time he left the field, I was relieved. And so was everybody wearing Rams colors and he comes back on the field and it's just like, uh oh. And anytime he left the field, it's just like, let's see what Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown could do. And then when he comes back on the field, it's just like, how's he going to go gash them? How's he going to get eight yards right up the middle before even being touched? So the offensive line is crushing it. They're playing better with Saquon behind him. Jalen Hurts is breaking hearts with his own legs.

Also AJ Brown is wide ass open when the Rams know Devante Smith is out. I'm telling you, this guy's the most valuable player in the National Football League in 2024. And he's done it. He did it on a Sunday night with the whole country watching.

In the number two media market in the United States, he did it in Brazil on opening night. He does it every single week. He's jumping backwards over people. He's giving you the highlights of the year.

He's coming up with a 75 yard touchdown rush to start the second half just when the Rams are feeling good. Hey, we can get a stop here. We can make a game out of it. Nope.

And then at the end, just gash him one more time to make a point. Most valuable player. You'd get my vote if the AP allowed me one.

Hey, let me tell you this. He was asked after the game last night, the MVP talk, and of course he was the usual humble Saquon about it. We'll start thinking about that when the season's over. I love being in that conversation. It's cool and all, but like I said, it's a team sport. And if you told me that I could have the year I'm having and win MVP, but not win a Super Bowl, or I could have the year I'm having and not win MVP, or office play the year and win a Super Bowl, let me take the other one. And then, let me just, because again, you know Saquon had me at hello, right? When he came out after he made my life miserable on a couple Saturdays. That was great.

I know it was for you. Yeah, I know, right? Rubber meets road, right? When weeks in the National Football League hit double digits, this is when things become serious. Weather gets colder, competition gets more desperate.

You get more hungry yourself if all's going well. In weeks 11 and 12, Saquon Barkley, I mean, guys, on a Thursday night against the Washington commanders who are feeling good about themselves and thinking they can win the division, and then on a Sunday night against the Rams who are feeling good about themselves thinking they can make the playoffs, and they still can, they're sitting there at five and five trying to get back above 500 for the first time all year on Amazon Prime Video, on a Thursday night on NBC, on a Sunday night, Saquon Barkley steps out and has exactly 500 scrimmage yards over those two games. Last player to have at least 500 scrimmage or more yards over a two-game span was Walter Payton in 1977.

He was MVP that year. I rest my case. Rich, he's on a pace to set the single season rushing yard record, 2,151 yards right now. Dude, what can I tell you? He's the Eagles dream in a Giants nightmare, and we'll talk about that later on because, yes, sorry Giants, you can't turn the page yet. Certainly not with the way things are going for yourselves and what this guy is doing for your hated rival right down the turnpike.

Now then, here's the question writ large. Let's do what Saquon wants us to do and talk about his team. Who's the best team in the NFC right now?

It's amazing. The Lions right now have won nine straight games for the first time since 1934. Their 10-1 start is tied for their best in team history because in 34 they won 10 straight to start the season and then lost one. They're the only undefeated road team at 6-0 in the NFL right now. They lost David Montgomery in the middle of that game, and they still took care of the Colts. You know, Jameer Gibbs, the whole thing, I mean, it really wasn't Amman Ra's day either in Indianapolis.

Doesn't matter. Doesn't matter because before Montgomery left, he and Gibbs scored again in the same game. Fourth teammate running back to you ought to have nine games where they've scored at least one or rushing touchdowns in the same game. Nine games in NFL history. Five of the six running backs that make up the other three running backs in those duos or hall of famers.

Come on. Jared Goff, no touchdowns, no interceptions, and passer rating of 93.4. Usually, you know, his passer ratings are at least a high-grade fever, not a light FM station. You know, the Colts held him without a touchdown pass for the first time since week two. And the Lions, that game was never in doubt.

Really wasn't. 24-6 final. Didn't blow them out, but the Lions are still the Lions right now, but the Eagles are are killing people too.

Absolutely killing people too. You know, this is what Jalen Hurts, you know, had to say afterwards. We'll hit both of these teams here. Jalen Hurts had this to say after the game last night about Barkley and what he brings to the team and what the team's doing as a whole. I love, check out if you hear the sound bite that jumped off the page at me when I read it, and I kind of want to co-opt for all of us here.

Go ahead. He's a hell of a player. He's a hell of a player, and I said that, you know, I said that after the Jacksonville game and how blessed he is to do some of the things he's capable of, and you accompany that, you know, when you accompany an issue with other issues, you become a problem, you know, and then I think we've got a lot of talent on our team, but I think we're a force when we're all together, and that's, I think that's evident out there when we can find our rhythm in how we play and feed off one another, and he set the tone for us. Did you hear that? You get, when you accompany a problem with another problem, whether you accompany an issue with another issue, you get a problem. I like that.

That might be RES consulting. We might have to, we might have to co-opt that, because you know what, another issue for them or the opponent is the defense now. Again, last night, you know, it was flashing all over the place, and it was obvious that Cooper DeGene, holy cow, he's closing. He was closing on Cup. He was closing on Makuah. He was closing on Kyron Williams. He was closing, you know, and was closing on on Stafford, everybody, including, unfortunately, for Brandon Graham, his last game as an Eagle, potentially, if not an NFL stud, one of our favorites, the O.G., the O.G., you know, our favorites, the O.G., B.G., from the U of M, tore his triceps in that game, but he was all over Stafford. That D-line whipped the Rams offensive line on Sunday night, straight up, no lie, no lies detected here, but then you got the Lions, man, and I'm about to open this up for conversation here, and we'll ask Jason Kelce when he strolls into our studio in hour number two.

These Lions, it's amazing. The Eagles' storylines, because these matter. These matter. These matter to the players in the locker room.

These matter in terms of what they've been through and what they're doing. The Eagles, we all know, made it to the Super Bowl a couple years ago, lose. Last year was a total disaster for them.

Everybody, they changed coordinators. They come back in, first four weeks, they're up and they're down. They're a 500 team. They hit the bye week. They haven't lost since then. The Lions, we all know, ascended last year after a dreadful start to the Dan Campbell era, when they couldn't win a lick on the road, and now they don't lose on the road. This is what Dan Campbell had to say about the state of his affairs. Yeah, I think we're so locked in and the here and now, and that it's hard to, it's a little bit like last year, man.

You get through it and then maybe you can take a breath and turn around and look behind you and see what you did, but right now we're just going. We're rolling. The one that I was, because I did read this this morning, was about wins on the road. I don't know what we are, 5-0, 6-0 this year, whatever, but it gave me a flashback to 21, excuse me, 22, and at that point we were 0-11-1 on the road, 0-11-1, and just thinking about that, and now I think we're 16-5 since then, and just that group of guys.

I said something to the locker room about it and looking at golf and Frank and Deck and Sewell and Aline and Saint, and it's like, man, you remember that, but all of those guys are responsible for the flip. They are 6-0 on the road in the NFL this year with a NFL best point differential on the road of plus 78. Helps to pack your defense and have a rushing touchdown in 25 straight games, including the playoffs. That's the longest such streak in the history of the NFL.

They're hitting you in the mouth. No better running back tandem, right? That is correct, but the Eagles have a running back tandem in the same person. So I ask, best team in the NFC? Best team in the NFC? Say it.

Say it. Eagles. Best team in the NFC? TJ Jefferson.

Best team in the NFC? I'm not going to say what you want me to say. Say it. Say it. Say it. Say it so Karl-Anthony Towns can hear it in New York City. I can't.

Say their name. That place where Rocky Balboa ran up the steps, I guess. The place where Joel Embiid plays basketball sometimes. He's like those friends of mine from the Ohio State that this week will not be able to spell the name Michigan with an M. It'll be Ix-igan and it'll be the school up north this week. Just call on one or whatever.

The city where Dr. J played basketball. I'll take the other way. I'm sticking with my lines. I agree.

Thank you, DJ Mikey Diaz and Deez Nuts. But that's also recency biased. It's not recency biased. I'm saying they looked great last night. Recency?

What's more recency biased than the... No, recency taking the Eagles. Yeah. They just, they looked so good last night. They did. And they did.

They look great. They did? I've been telling you guys about the Eagles for a month. I would be stunned. It would have to take the Vikings or the Packers or whoever wins the NFC.

I don't know. Could the Bucks go into Detroit and shock them like they did in week two? Somebody's going to playoffs last year too. Somebody's going to have to go into somebody's house. Right.

Yeah. And beat them in January to avoid a Lions Eagle. By the way, a Lions Eagles, NFC championship game.

Because if Dallas isn't in it or the Giants are not in it, and if the Packers aren't in it, you know, I'm just naming some teams. Oh, the Niners are not in it. Lions and Eagles, Lions and Eagles would be, would, would be a smash hit.

Oh yeah. Saquon and those two running backs. Let's hope Montgomery is okay. Okay. Let's, but I'll still take the Lions right now. But the Eagles have absolutely entered the chat. No two ways about it. No doubt. What say you?

It's loud in there too. It's loud. It was it was definitely on occasion the Eagles house.

St. Colón's house. Rams hung in there for a little bit. And the greatest show on turf was there last night. The team honored it's 25 years since that happened. Marshall was there and Kurt was there. Isaac and Tory Holt, Orlando Pace.

Orlando Pace and Tory Holt came by game day morning. That was really I want to tell you that was awesome. That was great. That was really cool. And they brought the actual trophy with the etching in there. Yeah they took it wasn't just a replica.

It had the you know the final score and I think the Rams literally took it out of a case and gave it to him. I saw Orlando Pace he says to me I've been avoiding you the last three years. And I'm like I'm glad I saw you now then next week.

Every single time the Giants think they've turned the page from the Saquon Barkley talk splashing back upon their shores of it being one of the biggest mistakes to let this guy walk in the history of letting guys walk. Every single time they think they're out Saquon Barkley pulls it back in and it's not by anything that he says unless it's the talk that his play is doing. That he's allowing his play to talk because that's what he does. He's not a single time has he taken the opportunity whether it was after torching the Giants himself personally or it was him beating the commanders on a Thursday night and going to the postgame set and hearing the Eagles fans serenade the prime video desk with chants of thank you Giants. Not one time has Saquon spiked the football by saying I told you so. On this show I chipped away at him multiple times and he would only allow yeah you know I got a chip on my shoulder a little bit but I do that all the time and you know I'm loving it here. Not a single time has anything out of Saquon Barkley's mouth been what leads to conversations conversations like the one that we're about to have on this program which is again what were the Giants thinking and for the Giants to spend the Sunday the manner in which they did in MetLife against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers team coming off of a bye needing to keep winning to have a shot at their division because they've lost twice to the Falcons. The Buccaneers are a stout team. Baker Mayfield is terrific. He is a red ass. He comes in and does the Tommy Cutlet's Danny DeVito finger thing and you could see he was basically doing it you know and and right to the Giants fans and the only thing was missing was if he took one of his arms and placed it down and took the other arm and came up from underneath it and flipped a couple of those fingers to a middle one okay I'm not lying he said after the game it was in Tommy's honor and whatever he said you know Giants fans like that sort of thing I figured I'd give it to him they allowed Baker Mayfield to come in and plant the pewter flag right in the middle of MetLife Stadium and damn near shut him out and Tommy DeVito's first start in place of a now cut Daniel Jones a now cut by the end of today by tonight Daniel Jones could be on a new team and his services will be in demand not saying that the Daniel Jones cut was a mistake we all understand it's the whole not getting Saquon done years ago but the fact that on this day the Tommy DeVito gambit flops on Broadway like the producers and unlike the producers that flop turned into a mistaken hit for it to flop the way that it did and then sit back and watch Saquon Barkley have the night that he had and the night that he had was in fact him personally the number of yards that he amassed personally last night was over 50 yards more than the Giants had all day and and the rushing yards up by a factor of 4x more touchdowns the longest play that the that Saquon had one of them was double the longest play the Giants had and uh this is a Shawn Mitchell special the headline is Donka Shane wow I'm sorry to do with Joe I mean it was a collective effort I'm assuming for all of this to happen but the general manager of the Giants Joe Shane you know they tried a couple times but just didn't get it done with Saquon and now Saquon's doing what he's doing for the Eagles and the Giants are doing what they did yesterday Malik neighbors didn't have a single target in the first half and had this to say at his locker room after the game what disappointed are you very what are you most disappointed about I mean it's just soccer man from Tyler going out there and losing like it's just that I mean I don't know bro go right there first second quarter don't get the ball start getting targets at the end I mean I can't do that start getting the ball when it's 30-0 what you want me to do why in the first half are they not looking at you I don't know other days about that or today would you say something I mean they know they come up to me asking what plays I want that was that I don't know oh man now to be fair um Saquon with his 302 scrimmage yards on sunday night was more than eight NFL teams had total yards in their game on sunday of week 12 so the Giants are one of eight yeah that don't matter though okay I'm trying it's just like you know there's like 15 longer Super Bowl droughts in the Cowboys nobody cares that nobody can keep bringing that up nobody cares Dave's is in Brian Dable the head coach of the Giants and and the media on this day just a couple hours ago did in fact speak to Dave's about it yeah leak and I talked last night we talked this morning he's very competitive individual again you you want to get the ball in his hands and I got to do a better job of getting the ball in his hands early and you know he's like he's a smart he's a smart young guy that's very competitive Pat and again when you lose like that it's a frustrating thing but we've had we've had good communication as we always have you think it's a problem that he is that he feels free to speak that freely and that critically about you the head coach and about the operation yeah I think look I'll keep our conversations private myself and leaks and you know look forward to getting ready here on Dallas great follow-up question and the only answer the coach of the New York football team can can give which is you know I'm just gonna I'm gonna turn down the conversation that you want to have on that subject matter that was a really good question because it is a it is a fact that okay a rookie 11 games in here or 12 weeks in here is now feeling free to basically say go talk to the coach and I I will say this again speaking to both guys in um in Munich before the game is they they do appear to genuinely like each other um day ball told stories about how Malik neighbors would draw plays for himself and some of the plays that he's drawing up for himself was him as a decoy to open things up for his teammates and you know Kurt Warner I'm sitting there the rest of us are sitting there Jamie Urdahl and and Sarah Walsh sitting there and the producers from CBS are sitting there saying they we haven't heard that from too many people hey a rookie is in in the x's and o's is locked in is locked in on the science of getting open and is locked in on on knowing his value sometimes is not the primary uh pass catcher in or out and Dave all you know puts it in the playbook sometimes doesn't call it but he puts it in the playbook to let Malik neighbors know hey your two cents are valuable enough that you're going to see it in the playbook so you know that is the foundation of this relationship that I think will be characterized over the next 24 to 72 hours leading up to the game as strained and that's the game that we're talking about is Thanksgiving and that's the way I'm kind of winding up for all of this because I also came back from Munich saying the Giants front office um is safe and the coaching staff is safe because the ownership likes them I just remember again I'll just counsel this as the Giants go through this stretch and I understand you're you know they they cut Daniel Jones because they're they're done with them and they cut Daniel Jones because there's an injury guarantee that if he got hurt um they'd be on the hook for money they didn't intend to pay him anymore so you might as well just get rid of him and have him leave the team and deal with it that way and you know that's what then leads to when Saquon Barkley does what he does the conversation about what the Giants have done you know all that said and a lot of people think well now they'll just lose keep losing so they can get this high draft choice as possible and get the new quarterback in here whether it's Chidor Sanders or whomever right and but Giants have to win games they kind of went and gained or at least they got to show up and compete because I do remember Joe Judge once upon a time was safe and then he took a knee remember they were in the shadow of their own goal line I forget which I think it was a division opponent it might have been against Washington I forget who but they had Daniel Jones take a knee on third down and I know we talked about a surrender formation not a victory formation but a surrender form formation that's right and that kind of flipped out many in the fan base and made Joe Judge um fodder for long-time listeners first-time callers burning up phone lines and it just poisoned the well to the point where they they they got rid of them yeah it was Washington it was the third nine QB sneak inside their own five it was it was dreadful so there is no more valuable beachfront property I think in the sports television National Football League business in the regular season than the Dallas Cowboy game on
