And now, it's Rich I said. Hour number two of our program on the air. Great chat with Geno Smith in hour one.
Alfonso Ribeiro making his way to our studio in person. Kevin O'Connell will be on a Zoom exactly one hour from now, talking with the 3-0 head coach of the Minnesota Vikings. 844-204-Rich is the number to dial right here on the program, getting set for Thursday Night Football.
Cowboys and G-Men on Prime Video, which you can see right here on Roku. 844-204-Rich number to dial. Excited to have everybody already lighting up phone lines, and we'll take some phone calls later on this hour. Josh Allen taking to a podium to clarify remarks that I'm sure he didn't really feel near you in clarification. Justin Herbert talking about the plan to get him healthy. Again.
And as I mentioned, two guests in hour three, so this hour is for us. Kaitlyn Clark, last night, finished up one of the most remarkable years of basketball playing up in quite some time. Because we could talk about her WNBA season, and we will, but her final season at Iowa was something to behold. And she went right from that into the WNBA season.
I mean, right away. As soon as her college season ended, just days later, she was drafted by the Indiana Fever. And I just remember being at the combine in early March.
That was the talk of the town. In addition to what we were seeing out of the Pacers and the combine being there. It's like Kaitlyn Clark's coming here. The Big Ten tournament going down in Indianapolis for so many years. A lot of folks there in Indy got a front row seat to see her with Iowa. And then she is drafted into the WNBA and is a savior of an Indiana Fever team that immediately goes 1-8. And it's just one of those moments where you're like, welcome to the WNBA, Rook.
And ESPN are showing the game last night in which the Fever got swept by the Connecticut Sun last night. They showed a montage of her year. When she passed Pistol Pete Maravich, she owns the record for most points scored in men's and women's Division 1. And she set every record you possibly can set for Iowa, for women's basketball. She just absolutely did it all and became a magnet for attention and an icon for sports fans, certainly little girls, certainly mine as well. Playing her basketball and watching her play and we saw the montage of her being drafted into the WNBA and part of the montage was her succeeding in the WNBA. But they left out a couple pictures.
Here's one of them. Her getting sent down to the ground, right down on a hardwood. Remember Kennedy Carter gave her a little bit of the business? And this was absolutely part and parcel of her year. She got cold shoulders and she got hot shoulders. She had to deal with all of that. And, you know, again, I'm sure there's small violins playing for people, for her, right? Because of who she is and how much attention she does get and there are so many great players that have been through the WNBA and are in the WNBA. But here's another photograph that wasn't part of the montage that ESPN showed last night.
Put it up. That's her with Aaron Judge. Now, I'm not sending this here because, you know, I'm putting this here because I'm a Yankee fan and this did delight me. But you know why she was able to take this picture with Aaron Judge? She wasn't taken to Paris. Right.
This is on August 10th. Instead of being with the Team USA in Paris, she had a little summer vacation like most of the rest of the WNBA. And there she was.
Where and could you imagine if Team USA had lost the gold medal game, which, as we all know, they came real close to doing? Just some shrug emoji moments. That I think are part and parcel of what whenever you talk about, Kaitlyn Clark, I never thought that she'd be a lightning rod. There were also some weird moments where members of the media were asking her weird questions.
She had to deal with that. But her accomplishments are something. Because at the end of the day, with her WNBA rookie season complete, let's see it. Most points by a point guard in a season in WNBA history. Most double doubles by a rookie guard in WNBA history. Most points by a rookie in WNBA history. Most assists by a rookie in the history of the WNBA. First WNBA rookie to record two triple doubles. First triple double by a rookie in WNBA history.
First triple double in Fever history. The first player to be named WNBA Player of the Month and Rookie of the Month in the same month. First player in WNBA history with 20 or more points, 15 or more assists and five or more rebounds in a game.
And wait, there's a second board. She won Rookie of the Month four times, Eastern Conference Player of the Week three times. She set a single season record for assists, period. Single season rookie record for assists, that makes sense. Single season rookie record for three-pointers. Single game record for assists, 19.
She also became, oh wait, there's more. Franchise record for most double doubles, three-pointers, career 10 or more assists in a game. How about that franchise record for most career 10 or more assists in a game. Fastest WNBA player to reach 100 three-pointers. She did it in 34 games. Most assists by a rookie in a WNBA All-Star game for which she received the most fan votes ever.
700,000 of those. Fastest player to reach 350 points and 150 assists to start a season regardless of years in the league. That's not a rookie record. That's just a record for anybody. We could then say that this was on top of, and I could list all of her senior season records at Iowa. One of the greatest years of basketball with work put in by anybody ever. You know, I mean, I understand it's about championships and rings and whatever and she didn't come away with one.
In either level. I understand that. I get it. And this doesn't denigrate, you know, South Carolina's accomplishments or whoever wins the WNBA championship this year.
I don't think it denigrates anybody. And I understand I'm not spending eight minutes to start an hour on this show about the greatness of other players in college or the professional circuit. And I understand that people will say, pay more attention to the other folks.
Pay more attention. Like, she couldn't do it herself. As I tweeted out last night, I thanked Kaitlyn Clark for the two level next level basketball play of 2024. And then I got back, you know, she didn't do it herself and her teammates.
It's just, okay, right. You know, LeBron has teammates, Jordan had teammates. I understand. Kobe had teammates. But she also did it with the spotlight on her at a very young age. Fame is hitting this young lady's life. And very rarely did I see a misstep or something that I wouldn't want to show my daughter. Literally every step of the way, it's just like, watch her, watch how she plays, watch how she handles her business. The first rookie in postseason WNBA history to have 25, 5 and 5 in a game. She did that last night.
They simply came so close to forcing a third game. But they're done. And this is what Kaitlyn Clark had to say. It sounds like she's out of gas.
You can kind of imagine she would be. It's been a long year. You know what I mean? Yeah, it's been a long year.
This is what she had to say. Yeah, it's definitely different for me. I feel like basketball has really consumed my life for a year or so. I feel like it'll be good for me to kind of reflect back on everything that's happened. I feel like I didn't even have time to really reflect on my college career because it ended so fast. And then I came here and was trying to give everything I could to this team. And kind of move on and put all that behind me and help this team get back to the playoffs. So I feel like taking some time to myself and really enjoying that and reflecting back. It was special.
There was a lot of things that this group accomplished that a lot of people probably didn't think was possible. One, to start the season and two, after the start we head to the season. So yeah, it'll definitely be probably a little weird for me over the course of the first couple weeks. And then I'm sure I'll get bored and pick up a basketball again. Well, and hopefully everybody does continue to pay attention to the WNBA playoffs without her in it.
And hopefully there is a residual effect of viewership because they deserve it. It's a fun watch, man. I'll tell you, this year I was fortunate to take the fam to the Rose Bowl with Michigan and Alabama. And taking my kids to various other events throughout the year. I went to a couple baseball games straight up with Coop. Going to go to Chiefs and Chargers later this week. Very fortunate to go with the kids.
The reason why I'm bringing this all up is Susie and I were fortunate to take Taylor. You were there that night, Mike. You had a front row seat, man.
It was amazing. And L.A. versus Indiana in the downtown Hoops dojo. And it was Kaitlyn Clark's first visit to Los Angeles. And she didn't have a very good night at all for the first three plus quarters. A lot of missed threes. Her teammates were turning it over when she was just hitting them in the hands with some remarkable passes.
But she wasn't playing crisp basketball. And then she made two threes at the end and they won it. And the place went nuts. They went nuts. I think your friend Ashton was there, too. Right there, center court, right?
Yep. Two very famous Iowans. And the place was sold out. There wasn't a seat to be had.
Wasn't a seat to be had in crypto. And Del Tufo is taking creepy pictures of her. That's true, too.
Caught on the broadcast. No, no. Kind of ruining the moment. You're right. All around.
For the entire arena. Just wanted to say that. And say, again, on behalf of Girl Dads and on behalf of fans of basketball. Again, it's such an infused lightning rod conversation for whatever reason. I understand we're paying attention to somebody who got bounced in the playoffs.
I get it. But the attention she brought to the sport and the attention that she brought to a woman's league and a women's side, if you will, of the sport. Is just, I think, hopefully going to have a residual effect for years to come. Yeah, I think it can't be overstated enough, like what she did to bring eyes to that sport. Whether people want to admit it or not, it's just a fact. And so it's just cool. And hopefully it carries over and the rest of the playoff ratings stay on par to what they were for her games.
Because they deserve it, too. But a lot of people were watching because of Kaitlin Clark. And I think it's okay to admit that. And what a year, right?
For Iowa. And all the records she set. We spread out her accomplishments over three graphics on the screen for the WNBA. If we did her senior year, I had that list, too. It would have kept going.
It would have been like credits of a movie. And then she did what she did to the WNBA. And, you know, I still don't understand how she was left off the roster for the Olympics. I mean, that is just nuts.
It's going to age poorly and poorly with every passing year. Nuts. It's okay. She'll be there next time. Well, Los Angeles. And there won't be, I mean, that will be a line around a block. It will be the toughest ticket in town, I'm imagining. I wouldn't think so. Yeah.
Of an Olympics and an event and a game that's going to have a lot of tough tickets, that's going to be the hardest one. 844-204-RICH, number to dial. We'll take your phone calls. We'll hear Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, before we hear from Kevin O'Connell right here on the Rich Isaac Show.

20. How about that? Wow, I'd love to know the records of the teams in this.
I would, too. I can't imagine, though. I'm sure heavy Cowboys, obviously.
20 Cowboys Giants games. And the Dow's at an all-time high. He's going to be really having a good time tonight.
The Dow hit an all-time high moments ago. I look forward to hearing the way Al is leaning on the game later in the fourth quarter. Well, I mean, he doesn't lay anything on it. He's just aware of it. He loves knowing that information.
Because he knows there's people like you he could keep to stick around in a blowout. Yeah, for sure. Even that 40 to nothing, was that close to the over-under line? I'd imagine it would have been last year. It was probably under. But I'm sure it was close to the number. Right, right. We needed some Giants last year.
Just one garbage Giants touchdown would have meant something. He wants to know that. Because if he can keep you, I should know that sort of stuff, too.
I should take a cue from him. If there's a blowout, and there's a way. But people are watching, too, for fantasy. Dude, I was watching to the very bitter end. I needed, as you know, just a two-yard catch from Mike Gasicki. That's all I needed.
It was just a garbage one. So I got the answer for Al. In the 19 games that Al Michaels is called between the Giants and the Cowboys, the Giants have won five. Wow.
The Cowboys have won 14 of those games. That sounds about right. Another reason why you must be excited. Al's going to go 667 tonight, right? You know what I'm saying?
You keep asking my nervous, baby. Did I get that right or no? It's 750. We can't count, right? We all know what that percentage is. Isn't that 750?
Yeah, you thought 750. You're in the hall. You're feeling good, Billy Ray. Back in the Rich Eisen Show Radio Network, sitting at the Rich Eisen Show's desk, furnished by Grainger.
With supplies and solutions for every industry, Grainger has the right product for you. Call clickgrainger.com or just stop by. All right, let's go to the phone lines. Garrett in Brick, New Jersey has been hanging on since we came on the air. What's up, Garrett?
Good morning to the best-looking boys in the business. Hey! All right! Garrett, you should not drive under the influence. Garrett, don't do that.
That's okay. I'm sitting in the car in Brick anyway. In Brick?
You want Hooper? Yeah. Brick City. No, I'm sitting there off Cedar Bridge right now. Cedar Bridge? Oh, yeah.
I know Cedar Bridge. Are you listening to the Red Man in Brick? I'm sorry. Oh, my God.
New Jersey guys got to talk about it. I'll be talking to the best show on the Internet. That's all. Thank you. I wanted to list a couple bullet points and then ask you a question.
Okay. Let's think about this one for a second. A mediocre college career. A huge rise in draft stock leading up to the draft.
All the physical tools and talent in the world has no idea what a layup even is. Am I talking about Anthony Richardson or Zach Wilson? You're talking about Daniel Jones, I thought.
How could you, sir? But you're right. Daniel Jones is a playoff win. That's true. Thanks for sticking us with this contract.
I don't know. Just looking at the Colts game over the weekend, I don't understand how you can miss. Anthony Richardson is so talented. He's so talented. You can see it every time he steps on the field. He's one of the best players out there. I don't understand how he just doesn't know how to complete a two-yard out route.
I guess he's got a cannon, but maybe he should put a safety on that thing. I don't understand. I hear you, Garrett. Thanks for the call, man. Enjoy tonight's game.
It's Garrett in Brick, New Jersey. Did you hear Zach Wilson's name dropped by Adam Schefter as somebody that the Dolphins should be targeting? You mentioned Russell Wilson as well.
I know you kind of mentioned that the other day. Chris Long has been talking about Carson Wentz for the Dolphins. Well, Carson Wentz is the backup to Patrick Mahomes. Nobody's trading their second quarterback, period. End of story.
Dare but for the grace of God goes anybody. The third one, I understand you need to have a third quarterback these days based on what we've seen in previous years. But if you're Denver and you got Bo Nix and Jared Stidham and you can get a nice draft choice from a Dolphins team that is a little bit. I don't know. Desperate is not the word yet. They're one and two. I don't know what two is processes right now. I don't know.
Nobody does. That's the idea of IRing him as they have removed timeline questions for him. Those questions will return on Monday night if the Dolphins lose on a Monday night at home to the Titans for a second straight year in shocking fashion. But Zach Wilson coming back and becoming the savior of a Dolphins team after not being the savior of a Jets team would be the most Jets thing happening in a long time.
Yeah. If there are such things as Jets things anymore because Aaron Rodgers looks the way that he's looked over the last two games, but Zach Wilson potentially showing up for Miami. And again, if they go in a direction like that or even pick up the phone to make a call like that, that means there's questions about Tua. And I know a lot of folks are like, what do you mean?
Of course, there are questions about Tua. I think the guy is going to want to play again. And if he's getting on a plane six hours, I understand it's not having a process information in a grown-ass man's tackle football league, but you still been cleared by a doctor to go fly on a plane at altitude for six plus hours. But I heard that Zach Wilson name.
I'm like, huh? Would the Broncos really do that? Because you need a third quarterback. Just ask the Dolphins. They're down to one right now.
And it was Tim Boyle. Yeah. David and Maryland. You're here on the Rich Hudson show. What's up, David? Hey, Rich, how you guys doing today?
What's on your mind, sir? Well, you know, I'm a Ravens fan, and I got to tell you, it has been a tough year to be a Ravens fan between losing by a toenail in Kansas City to, you know, blowing the leads. But listen, I'm excited for this Sunday night game. You've got Lamar versus Josh Allen again, and I think I think it'll be a better match up than I think the build was faced all year. I think our defense is solid besides the fourth quarter. And I think the only reason the Ravens have a chance of winning this Sunday is because it might be a shootout and we might not have to have a lead.
So I want to get your guys thoughts on that. Well, listen, my thoughts on it are, do the Ravens have offensive line problems or not? And have they fixed it based on what happened in Dallas where Micah Parsons didn't have a sack for a second straight game? Have they figured out what they're doing with Derrick Henry or not? Or is it just Dallas is just giving away running yards like Oprah does cars? I don't know.
And that's part of the beauty of having to go through the crucible of an NFL season that the last quarter plus that happened in Dallas indicate that Dallas has figured something out that the Ravens have a trouble closing games. I don't know. They look pretty good trying to close a game in Kansas City in week one, but they had trouble closing that game against the Raiders in week two. Is that an issue?
I don't know. The Bills first three games this year. Is that indicative of what's going on right now or is Jacksonville just that bad? You know, the Dolphins lost to in that game, but they were losing that game, you know, significantly before Tua got hurt. You know, there were three interceptions of Tua in that game before before Tua went out and that's reason why I think Tua put his head down and went for that first down that way kind of lost his sense of self-protection. The first half of that week one game against Buffalo by Arizona. Is that an indication of anything? I think that's what's going to be proof in this pudding here on Sunday night and and and the Ravens falling to one and three and the Bills going to 4-0 would be a massive seismic event at the end of the first month of the campaign in the AFC. Thanks for the call, David. I hope that gave you some answer because I don't have the answer.
I don't have it. You know, also Ravens, I don't know if I trust any other wide receivers. You know, Aguilar had a big play inside the five yard all the way down inside the five yard line. Bateman actually scored a touchdown because he was going against me in fantasy for Don Bowie. You know, Zay Flowers is doing what he's doing. Justice Hill looked pretty damn speedy as a change up.
I mean, it was working. The offense worked very well in Dallas. The question is, is that a Dallas thing or is that a Ravens thing?
Right. Ravens are minus two and a half in this game. Should they be favored against the Bills that look unstoppable? I don't know.
I don't think so. I think the Bills are top my power rankings for a reason. They are playing the best. I agree. And I think they beat all comers right now.
I agree. And as right now, now the Ravens can pop their their way back and say that is where we're getting back to five hundred. And we're going to have a tie break on top of the Bills moving forward. And the Bills fall to three and one. Jets could get up to three and one. You know, and that would be a significant action. And reaction in the AFC.
That's why Sunday night's a big game. And I told you, the Bills, three and 0, part of the reason why is there is no expectation of them. And I understand that's an outside in view, outside of the building view of what goes inside the building. And what goes inside the building may have nothing to do with what's being talked about on the outside of the building. And every single human being in football will tell you what goes outside of the building.
What's being said doesn't really matter about what's inside the building. It's about us. It's about what we do. It's about what we can do, what we have done, what we're talking about doing. But I just think, again, the combination of the lack of expectation and the being able to play freer, along with an offense that doesn't have a number one.
I know you kind of need one. Does it matter if everybody's looking alive and everybody can make first downs and score touchdowns like they've done the first three weeks of the season? And of course, everybody's looking at Josh Allen just to try.
It's amazing. Maybe it'll be put to bed after Buffalo visits Houston after week five. That's the next two games for Buffalo, is a visit to Baltimore on a Sunday night. And then a game at Houston that's going to be very significant, certainly for the conversation about Diggs and Allen. I don't know if Allen had this to say.
If we can play the first bite of the week first, if you don't mind. You know, Allen was asked after the Monday night boat race in which Cook ran one in and Keyon Coleman caught one and Shakir caught one and Ty Johnson caught one and Kincaid caught one. And it's just like, who needs a number one when everybody is catching? Right. And and he made reference to the number of weapons that he has. And a lot of folks took that as a shot to Stefan Diggs.
Right. And Diggs just fresh off of getting hammered. By the Minnesota Vikings.
You know, that added more to the equation, I think, of look at how he didn't do very well. And the bills are just killing it. So, you know, there's a conversation that he was being derisive or deriding. Diggs, we talked about it earlier in the week.
If you want to just play today's go ahead. This is this is Josh Allen, I think, having to clarify that statement. Go ahead. And I know there's a lot of people talking out there. Again, I'm not trying to tear down anybody. I've loved everybody that I've played with, you know, and you don't have to tear other people down to build each other up. And, you know, we're building each other up right now and that's all we're trying to do.
We're trying to stay together as a team and we're really caring about each other. And, you know, everybody in this building's got that feeling. You know what I mean? You know what I mean?
With former, whether it's former players. Yeah. And again, I love I love 14.
I still do. But I everyone wants to keep making this thing a thing. And, you know, we're so focused on what's going on inside of our building. And that's the only thing that we're caring about right now. Fourteen being Diggs.
Right. And this will be put to bed in two weeks. In two weeks. And then if they face each other in the playoffs, Bills and Texans, which they may, because I think they're, if you were to name the top four teams in the AFC right now, it's Bills, Texans, Chiefs and whoever else might be able to raise their hand. Is it the 3-0 Steelers, somebody else from the AFC North if the Ravens do put the pedal to the metal? Could it be the Chargers who have a game against the Chiefs at home this weekend for them to put their marker down and say Harbaugh here, things are different?
So that'll be put to bed. But the Bills season is all about playing freer, it feels like to me. It looks like they're playing freer. Nobody's nobody came into the season expecting to win the division.
I chose the Dolphins. That one is aging very poorly. And and then I don't think many people expect him to win the Super Bowl outside of Barber and Ocala. And the guy in the back, you know, running the show. Yeah, that's true. Yeah, kind of. Like Hoskins. Oh, listen, they're playing freer.
And I think you're seeing how the benefits of it. Playing freer, expectation was down. Everybody thought they lost too many parts. The Matt Milano loss for me was what what what teetered me from saying, OK, they lost too many. And I don't know what they're going to do offensively. And they've answered the question emphatically in the first three weeks, emphatically. And I can't wait for Sunday night against the Ravens. But there is definitely part of the freer is that whatever Allen and Diggs and he loves 14 and 14 loves him.
And they talked about, you know, Diggs talked about when he was on this show that they played video games and they were like brothers and whatever. But everybody in the league says this didn't end well. I mean, I think you get somebody who won't go on the record. You're hearing that.
And they may not know either. But everybody in the league thinks this didn't end well. And it had to end with him going to Houston or somewhere else. And and so right now, if if he's not thinking, I've got to get 14 involved.
Or 14's given me the business or, you know, I'm giving him the business and I don't have to worry about that anymore. It sure looks like they're playing freer there. Now, as for the Chargers. This is a big game this weekend, just up the road. The Kansas City Chiefs are coming in and 3-0 and, you know, Jim Harbaugh can look down at his checks and see the word Spanos on it. But the real owner of this team is named Travis Kelce. You know it and I know it. And you want to talk about get right games.
Travis Kelce could use one right now. They were even talking about it on the new heights pod when they weren't sending me cereal. Thanks.
Thanks, gents. The old General Mills Kelce brothers connection is very popular on our house road right now. Funny commercial. Oh, my gosh. They got their own cereal?
Well, they got their own mix. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
I got five. By the way, the kids are all like, do you really have to bring it to the office? Susie's like, take it to the office.
It's like Lucky Charms and all that stuff. So we can eat it. Maybe I'll bring it. I'll bring it.
I'll bring it tomorrow. Long story short. Listen, I'm just trying to show off my influentialness. You know, clearly five boxes of cereal. You know, Mike, you know what? My influence does not.
It stays crispy and milky. I would believe that. But here's my point is Kelce could use a get right game. And boy, does he always have one against the Chargers. He has. Yes, he kills him. He kills him.
I don't even have the stats in front of me because you don't need stats to back it up. You just don't because he just does it. The number of times that Brandon Staley and Anthony Lynn in their tenures as coaches would be just like going against this team.
And you'd be like, really? Again, how do they not circle 87? How do they not just like double, triple bracket this guy?
How do they not? He has the games. He has the games. And it's been their division. And, you know, one of the only times the Chargers have come close right against this team was the day that Justin Herbert found out surprise starter in his rookie season. You're going.
You're going. Teron Taylor, you know, got got, you know, Dr. Needle hit him in the wrong spot. Vinny Vega. And he had to, you know, give him the shot. Well, Vinny hit the spot. They needed Vinny Vega here in L.A.
But I think, you know, spoiler alert, he was unavailable forever. So a rich and not to interrupt you, but Kelsey stats against you have them. Yeah, I got 100 catches for twelve hundred yards and nine touchdowns in 18 games. Yeah. You know what those numbers are? There's 16 and two stupid. The numbers are stupid. The numbers are stupid.
Dumb numbers. And and and Herbert had a heck of a game. Right. And that day, but they still lost and and and then now's the time. This is it. They had the game at home against the Vegas Raiders, and, you know, when the Raiders come to Los Angeles, it's their town.
Still, there's a lot of people. And who love the Raiders here and they won that game. It was a a paint swapping Donnybrook.
They win it. Then the Chargers wind up going on the road for two weeks. And they hung out on the East Coast. They basically ended Bryce Young's tenure for the moment. And then went to Pittsburgh and played a bruising affair in which Justin Herbert left midway through. And it was Heineke, by the way.
It was a boy. And so they lose that one and come home and they've got to buy on the other side of this game. And this is it.
This is it for them to be able to say things are different here. Now, they can lose this and still make that case coming off the buy at two and two. And you can you can make a nice run, obviously. But to come in and just have the Chiefs come into this house and they hand the Chiefs their first loss of the year. Harbaugh goes to 2-0 in division. They're three and one in first place because they would have the tie break on the Chiefs.
Hit the buy at three and one in first place and tell everybody here in Los Angeles, guess what? The Harbaugh era sure is different, isn't it? Is Herbert going to play? The question was asked of him, you know, hey, you took yourself out. He said he took himself out of the game. The pain was significant in Pittsburgh from his high ankle sprain and took himself out.
Didn't finish the game. Can he go this week? Do you sit and get two more weeks to sit it out? I know you want to really make this statement against the Chiefs at home.
But this is the dreaded high ankle. Give yourself, you know, two weeks of rest and come back and go go to battle. Do you do that? Live for another day? Play smart and safe? This is what Herbert said when asked that question.
I think that was always a part of the conversation. You know, I don't think that's the way that we're heading. You know, I think it's played by go day to day, see how it is and keep getting better. And, you know, we felt like I was in a position last week to play and I felt comfortable and safe going out there, knowing that I could move around and do as much as I could to protect myself. But we got to that point where, you know, they thought it was the best decision to take me out because I couldn't move.
I couldn't protect myself. And, you know, I think as long as we keep getting better from day to day here, we'll see where we end up. Yeah, he wants to play, man. I know he wants to play. It's Los Angeles versus Kansas City for Harbaugh. This is something they circled, you know, a while ago, you know, and you know, he wants to play and win.
Problem is, if he if he couldn't protect himself midway through the Steeler game, just a few days later, he's going to be able to protect himself midway through Chris Jones, Karl Oftus, Nick Bolton. I mean, that's a tall order, right? Chanel. That's a very tall order.
And I want to talk about a tall order. Derwin James isn't playing in the game. He got suspended for this game.
Come on. We do it because of repeated violations. Remember, I think, was it Pelissero said that we did a report when he came on here was talking about how there's a whole list of guys who got warning letters before the season saying, you know, you're already on thin ice, you better. I think James was one of them secret probation and and he's he's out for this game. They appealed it. Derek Brooks said no. I think that was appeals officer. And when, you know, when, oh, this will be Brooks says, you know, so I had an opinion. And then I found that out.
And I'm like, hey, yeah, it's insane. I don't know, man. So you want to stop Kelsey from continuing to write the checks? No. Derwin James is a no bueno. It was already impossible to stop him before. What a game.
This means a lot. Oh, yeah. So I think Herbert will go. I don't think, you know, Kelsey is going to be held down too much longer.
Well, what's that look for? I'm skeptical. I know you think he's washed. Maybe not in so many words, but to expect him to be the guy he's been the last few seasons, I think is unrealistic. I think it's common.
I really do. And then we're going to see them on a Monday night against New Orleans and then a bye. And then at San Francisco. Here we go. This is his game. We go. Yes, sir.
Earlier. This is his get right game. This is his get right team. I mean, this is it. I'm serious. Like Harbaugh looks down at his checks and sees Spanos. And instead, you know, it's Kelsey. He owns it.
Yep. The same way Rogers own the Bears. Boy, does he love playing the Chargers.
Same way the Cowboys own the Chargers. Didn't he walk one off in overtime that one game that he already had like nine touchdowns in it? He did. And it's just like him again.
Really? And it was one of those where he ran through the defense in the red zone, too, right? He was wide open.
And then he threw the ball violently into the stands. Is that the Winkler game? Is that the Winkler game? God, I love it. Love talking about it. 84424 Rich number to dial.

Last minute tickets, lowest price guaranteed. It's kind of difficult to describe to people who were unfamiliar with it as you might have been Patrick Holmes. I have.
Yes, I have. He's one of my heroes. Oh, is that right? That's true.
I root for that team, even though I've never lived there. Yes. I think he is just phenomenal to watch apropos of nothing. I was going to talk about the season finale of Barry. Yes. And you were talking about the season finale.
And I was hoping Patrick was in it. Next time you come on. Yes. We'll make sure Mahomes is on the phone.
We'll do that. Truly. You like him that much. I think that his ability is such a cut above. He is so passionate in the way he plays.
Yes. He is so improvisorial in the way he plays. He is so sure. I just think it is instinctually great, actually. OK, well, he now knows that and we will make sure that we'll make this happen.
Yeah, it would be my listen. Yes, Patrick. Hi. He does.
How are you? Can I just say, no, if Patrick is listening, I'd like to you know, we make a great chicken stuffed with ricotta and spinach with an unbelievable reduction. It can be yours if you're here in L.A. Well, the Chiefs come play the Chargers, right? The Chiefs play the Chargers.
We'll make this happen. Those guys are good, too. I mean, they they're they're good quarterbacks.
They are not my home. That is correct. By the way, the Kelsey game we were talking about where he dominated with three touchdowns. That was the game that Henry went to.
So we're just tying it all together, tying together all the stories and all of our relationships. Back on the Rich Eisen show, everybody. All good. Jimmy in San Antonio. What's up, Jimmy? What's going on, sir?
Well, for the record, Rich, I'm drinking under the influence. You were correct earlier. Good. And Kaitlin Clark is a stud. You were correct earlier.
Thank you. I appreciate I mean, I don't think that's going on on a limb, but so many people get so upset. You're paying attention to her when she doesn't deserve it as much. And there's other people. The Las Vegas Aces are winners. And why don't you mention them with the same breath? And it's just like, OK, I agree.
But but that's exactly what I want to say is you can say that and not be judgmental of other WNBA players. I hope not. I hope I'm not. It's being taken out.
I hope it's not taking that. You know, some people are, man. Come on. It's just the way it is. And I think it's the first year stuff.
But either way, the girls are stud. That's all in period. End of sentence.
Nothing more. I'm with you. I'm with you, Jimmy. Thanks for the call. Oh, you got one other thing. Go ahead. Oh, yes.
Oh, yes. I am calling solely to stand up for me. Amigo T.J., the disrespect and bullying from fellow NFC East fans. And I'm talking to you, Carl Anthony in Minnesota, Alan Dallas, Carl.
I believe they're being that way to T.J., right? Jimmy, I'm bothering nobody, bro. I just sit here in my own business. I'm actually going to mean I'm going to actually. Well, while you're saying your piece, Jimmy, I'm going to text Carl Anthony town Sanitas. I need this. I need a video from him tonight.
He's trying to flex on us right now. That's why. Wow.
That is more bullying and disrespect. But you know what, Jimmy? You know what, Jimmy? I'm going to text Victor Wimber Nama right now since you're in San Antonio. See if he'll hit me back. OK, go ahead. Somebody. Somebody text Alan Dallas.
We already did that and then smoked him out. OK, I'm on a I'm on a gambling site right now and I'm about to put my bed in. And I'm not going to name the site. OK. No, no, no, no.
Yeah, we don't have that sort of a relationship. All right, Jimmy. Good luck.
They should have that. Good luck. Call us back. That's Jimmy in San Antonio, everybody. Check it in.
My man, Jimmy. Five and a half tonight. That's fine. OK. Sounds good. That's good.
Is that what it is? Five and a half. Five and a half. What would you do with that information? I would I'm going to take the home team. I'm going to you are really going to do that. Take the points. Oh, boy.
Oh, he doesn't like money rich. He's allergic to the Giants. Keep this close, if not win the game. They're playing better than Dallas the last two weeks. I don't think that's you can argue that. Of course. Well, they've won. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They came close to winning and then they won as opposed to not coming close to winning.
They have the best offensive player in the game. We came close to winning against Baltimore. You did. Come on. You did not.
What do you mean? Come on. In no way was that game close. Because at one point it was at one point they didn't need that.
That really neat design run from Lamar. They needed that to sort of end the day. It was fourth and 16. We've got the best kicker in football.
McCarthy goes for it and would had three points. We lost by three points. So we can't say that they were never in. Yeah. Chris, blame it on the coach. I mean, I love doing that.
By the way, before we finish this hour. Are we aware again? Let's just it's so crazy. A college football quarterback left his team out because he says the hundred thousand dollars he was promised in some sort of NIL deal. That's not papered anywhere was never given to him. And the collective is like, oh, yeah, we we we told him we would give him three thousand dollars a month for four months. And the quarterbacks like, where's my other eighty eight thousand dollars?
And they're basically saying, what other eighty eight thousand dollars? And he's just like the one that I was verbally promised. Yeah. And and I am now going to leave the team and my teammates before my eligibility is used up for this year. So I could preserve it in red shirt now and preserve it so I can make more money somewhere else.
Rather than stick with this program, because you guys are a bunch of liars. That just happened. Yeah. Yeah, I'm good with it. I'm crazy.
That's that actually happened. You're what do you mean? You're good. You're I'm not talking about this again.
This is good with his decision. I'm not that this has nothing to do with that. OK, now what it is is it's a weird state of college sports. We have reached the point we were on the air that July 1st day. Was it two years ago when NIL came into being? And it's just like, what's going to happen?
Three years. What's going to happen? And and the number of people are like, well, at least now you're going to have you'll see what people are paying.
It's not some sort of envelope or paper bag under the table anymore. And instead, here we are in the middle of a season where teams three and oh, for the first time since the Kenny Main or Randall Cunningham administration, UNLV and and and and the college football playoff has 12 teams. And they could be one of them based on the construct of of the at large bids being handed out. Right. And and the quarterback is like, yeah, I was told I would get one hundred thousand dollars when I transferred here from Holy Cross. And the collective that pays this stuff out says, no, it's a stipend of three thousand dollars for a month, for four months.
And the quarterbacks like your eighty eight thousand shy pal. And if I don't get it, I'm out of here. And that's what happened. And I'm not talking about the decisions that are made or what's true and what's not. I'm just saying there is no central office that will accept the paperwork from everybody involved.
And thus just making it official and codified and normal, like the professional outfit. This sounds like you want to complain. Complain to who? It's like there's nobody there. Right. There's no store. There's the jerk store. That's it. We're all going to the jerk store.
And you ran out of you. And it's it's just insane that this doesn't raise alarm bells everywhere else. USC had a defensive lineman saying, I'm red shirting, too, because my playing time's off.
But he's still sticking with the team and practicing, though. I don't know what's going on. I mean, it's crazy. It's kind of like Bahmani was talking about yesterday. It kind of like gambling, too, for me.
I liked it when it wasn't everywhere, when it was a little shady and in the shadow. He said there was more honor. Yeah, exactly. Because it's like, if you don't come through, I'll just come out and say you paid me and then you get popped. Right. Sanctions. This one is just like now it's it's like you told me you were going to pay me because it's legal to do so.
Right. And you're now just a liar and you reneged or the collective didn't know what a coach was promising. And the coach didn't know what the collective was doing. And the player is expecting money. And the collective is like, wear the legal outfit that can tell you right now this was our deal. And and the player is like, no, there's another deal on the dad saying there's another deal. And and and and so now it's just like too bad. And there's no penalty for anybody because there's no enforcement, there's no rules, there's no centralized office that will accept the contract and look at the paperwork and then holds people to account.
It's like it was better when it was illegal. Right. Like what's the NIL better business bureau? There isn't one. Right. It's the only business bureau. It's a none of your business bureau.
None yet. You know what I mean? It's it's crazy. And there's enough smart people and adults in the room that should be able to figure this damn thing out before it gets totally out of control. You would think. Well, the jerk store called. That's right. They're running out of you. Right. The bigger pockets portfolio of podcasts are worthy of your investment.
